As much as I would love to do that, M I B is a real life person and adding them into an AU without their permission or knowledge would make me feel very weird.

If he did give me permission to use his YouTube likeness in the AU, I would make him some weird Batmite character that only Orga can see and fallows them around. Because that would be silly

Proposal: M.A.S.K. (Monstrous Anomaly Strategic Kontrol)

Both M.A.S.K. and Inhumanoids are essentially dead in the water, with little chance of straight up reboots saving either of them. MASK is always going to be redundant for the company that owns both Transformers and G.I.Joe, and Inhumanoids was always an act of hubris.

Buuuuut...

Sometimes when a lifeform can't survive on its own, mutualism is the way to go. So we mash the two concepts together.

Earth Force was always a bunch of jerks with goofy looking suits. All of the nostalgia for Inhumanoids is on the monsters. MASK had the theme of disguise and hidden super-tech that never really made sense in a world where they operated openly.

But if MASK is a sort of kid-friendly S.C.P. Foundation or M.I.B. group, tasked with capturing and covering up supernatural threats to mankind, then your problems solve each other.

Inhumanoids, mutores, and other monsters crop up to wreck havoc, and undercover MASK-agents arrive, defeat the horror de-jour, and provide a reasonable cover-story. They wear the weird tech-masks both for their weapons and vehicle-interface (not from the OG series but seriously, its obvious) and because they're literally hiding their faces and protecting their cover identities. The vehicles disguise as normal civilian rides so people don't see caravans of tanks going to shoot Metlar in the face.

VENOM still exists as a rival faction that seeks out these kinds of weird happenings to sell them to highest bidder, but are a sometimes-baddie, rather than the every-week clash.

Toy wise, the play pattern is a basic large-and-small. Human heroes have converting vehicles and masks, monsters come in various sizes, with a matching pop-out or surprise gimmick for most to mirror the play pattern. This actually works with most of the non-huge Inhumanoids concepts from the old days too.

Sole exception is the Inhumanoids heavies, who are largely rotocast big-format figs that can sell at a lower price point.

omg wait you reminded me of this one time, i think it was when he accidentally took out 12 stories on the corner condominium of 26th street? i think? he came in as this big suited guy. burly, no-nonsense yk, very m.i.b. cause bw was looking for him, whatever, normal sunday.

so he comes in, running through the door, forgets to change, and scares the shit out of me.

i threw my laptop across the room so hard i broke the screen (rip puggle, you were the best puter a girl could ask for😢) then got him with a solid groin kick... he changed back immediately after that :U

we had a good talk (i may have freaked out a bit bcuz i thought he was a bw agent coming after us what else was i sposed to do) and he gave me a gun "for next time someone you dont know comes in" < his words, not mine.

doesnt happen that much anymore :) alex doesnt enjoy eating lead.

So, I played in a oneshot with a few friends. Set in a modern setting with a lot of fantasy elements. One of the races in the setting are Men In Black, which are basically an alien insectoid species that look specifically like a human in a suit so they can infiltrate the government.

My character was a one of these 'Men In Black', and my entire backstory was that he failed to join an office / government job. So he got a job as a construction worker, and got a drinking problem because he's sad. Also he's is awful at pretending to be human.

The entire oneshot was: Me (M.I.B. Drunken Master Monk), some War-forged Warlock, and a random Human Bard. We were all invited to a giant building in the woods. It turned out it was a cult. The War-forged was there to be an actual viewer (he didn't know what he was getting into), The bard was just a random comedian they hired, and I was the "Human" Sacrifice.

It ended with a fight against a demon that had a specific attack to break your spine (Bane vs Batman style), that like halved your Speed Dex and Str... After it already hit me... The DM realized that it specifically doesn't effect creatures without a normal skeleton...

I got snapped like a kitkat bar, then got back up like nothing was wrong.

And the best part? I named my character:
