Understanding Employee Offboarding: What It Is and Why It Matters
Tumblr media
It has been reported that companies with structured offboarding processes see higher employee satisfaction scores and better employer brand ratings. Many organisations excel at onboarding but neglect the final impression of departing employees.
Employee offboarding is the systematic process of transitioning employees out when they resign, retire, or are terminated. It encompasses knowledge transfer, asset recovery, relationship management, and security protocols.
With Australians changing jobs every 3.3 years on average, poor offboarding can lead to security risks, damage an employer’s brand reputation, and cost up to 150% of the departing employee’s annual salary in turnover-related expenses.
Here’s the reality: every departure is either an opportunity or a risk. Companies like Sentrient understand that strategic offboarding creates lasting value and builds brand ambassadors.
This guide provides frameworks that turn every exit into a strategic advantage.
What Is Employee Offboarding?
Employee offboarding is the structured process organisations use to transition employees out of the company when their employment ends, regardless of the reason. Unlike the informal “farewell and good luck” approach many businesses still use, professional offboarding involves systematic planning, clear procedures, and coordinated efforts across multiple departments.
The scope extends far beyond basic administrative tasks. True offboarding encompasses legal compliance, knowledge preservation, relationship management, security protocols, and strategic communication.
It begins the moment an employee announces their departure and continues well after their final day, sometimes extending weeks or months after their transition period.
Key Differences in Employee Exit Types
1. Offboarding vs Termination: Offboarding is a comprehensive process management, whilst termination focuses primarily on ending employment relationships legally and administratively.
2. Offboarding vs Resignation Management: Resignation deals specifically with voluntary departures, whilst offboarding encompasses all departure scenarios with strategic elements like employer branding.
3. Offboarding vs Retirement Processing: Retirement involves succession planning, whilst offboarding adds relationship management and competitive intelligence protection.
Essential Stakeholders in the Process
The modern offboarding process requires coordination across multiple departments:
Human Resources: Leads process coordination, ensures compliance and consistency
IT Department: Manages system access and digital asset recovery
Line Managers: Coordinate knowledge transfer and team communication
Finance Team: Handles final compensation and benefit settlements
Legal Department: Ensures regulatory compliance and protects intellectual property
Security Team: Manages access revocation and data protection protocols
Conclusion
Strategic employee offboarding represents far more than administrative necessity – it’s a competitive advantage that strengthens employer brand, preserves institutional knowledge, and transforms departing employees into lasting advocates.
Companies that invest in comprehensive offboarding processes see measurable returns through reduced replacement costs, maintained client relationships, and enhanced recruitment capabilities.
The transformation potential extends beyond individual departures to organisational resilience, cultural strength, and strategic capability building. When every employee departure becomes an opportunity for growth rather than just a loss to manage, organisations develop sustainable competitive advantages.
Modern technology solutions, like those provided by Sentrient’s integrated HR and compliance platform, make professional offboarding accessible to organisations of all sizes. Automated workflows, comprehensive checklists, and integrated asset management eliminate complexity whilst ensuring consistency.
Your next step involves honestly assessing your current offboarding practices and identifying specific opportunities for improvement. Whether you’re managing five employees or five hundred, strategic offboarding capabilities will strengthen your organisation.

Hi, I wanted to have if you have any recommended resources about protest safety, e.g.: how to deal with tear gas, pepper spray, dog bites, wounds from police violence, etc. For reference, I am not USAmerican, so I'm looking for on the ground practical advice, not legal suggestions or anything. You have a lot of good advice and resources so I thought I'd ask for a rec as I'm starting my research into the niche, thank you <3
Do not pour anything but water in your eyes
Here is a massive manual for street medics on handling the kinds of injuries you might run across at protests. This is targeted at people with prior first aid and emergency medical training, and I highly recommend taking an in-person first aid course if that is available to you.

Shadows of Desire - Prologue

Tumblr media
By the Gods, that had been a hard day at work. Why did new hunters have to be so cocky? You were walking home late after finally finishing the paperwork for the hunters that got assessed today. It is your job to interview and evaluate all the new hunters to determine their skills and what guilds and parties they are best suited for. This was mainly so the Chairman would know if and when the balance of guides was tipping too far one way or the other.
The downside was that over half the hunters that got assessed were young males who thought they could impress you with their abilities. Even though if you were going to go for anyone, it would be one of the S- or A- Ranks you spent the most time around at the association. Why would you ever choose some immature start-up hunter? Not that you were interested in anyone.
A glass breaking pulled you out of your thoughts, and you realised that it may not have been the best idea to walk home so late. Especially when Baek Yoonho had offered you a lift home.
Shit, you thought, that may not have been my smartest move.
You thought back to the look he gave you after you declined, a mixture of surprise, suspicion and doubt. What was he doing at the association that late anyway? He hadn't been there for training that much, you knew.
You knew you weren't supposed to be drawing attention to yourself; this was exactly the sort of thing that makes people go digging.
Fuck.
Officially, you were an E-Rank healer, not much use for anything more than a scratch, even though your perception ability was so high that you could almost predict the future. All that allowed you to do was know when someone was going to get hurt. Not that you could do anything about it before or after the fact. That's why you gave up hunting and poured all your effort into the archives. There was only so much death one person could handle, knowing they could have done something about it if only they were stronger.
Of course that was before…
Now things are different. The system made sure of that. You'd fallen asleep at your desk for the hundredth time and dreamed of a game menu. Gaming was your escape, so it wasn’t that strange for you to dream of gaming, but something about this was different. It felt a little too real. Your suspicions were confirmed when you woke up, and the screen was still there.
The mission the System had given you was to ensure that no one else found out about it and protect the other players. It did not indicate as to who these players were or why the System needed to be protected. Surely having more players put the System at risk? So why add a player specifically for protecting the System?
Occasionally, when you stumbled upon the right piece of information, a pop-up would occur, giving you a new sub-mission which revealed a little bit more about the System. You kept all this information at the office in a filing cabinet that only you had the key for, in a folder labelled system” that everyone just assumed was the instruction manuals for the computer system the archives are run on. For the last few years, this had worked wonders. Until a few months back, you got a pop-up saying a new player had been added and he would need “extra protection”.
That was when you took on the role of assessing all new and re-evaluated hunters so the records could be updated. You kept an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. The only strange thing that happened was Sung Jinwoo. An E-Rank hunter who was nearly killed but miraculously survived. He was re-evaluated when he first recovered but was still an E-Rank; only recently, when he got re-evaluated, he’s now an S-Rank. But you received no pop-up from the system like you would have expected. So it can’t have been him.
However, there was something different about him.
As part of joining the System, you got some skill boosts, and as long as you completed the daily quests, you continued to level up. This meant that your skills were through the roof, easily at an A- or even S-Rank level. You spread your skill points across all the categories, with your focus on perception and intelligence to help you achieve the mission the System had set for you.
What this means is that you were stronger and faster and all around generally more powerful than you had any right to be. But there were downsides to having too high a perception skill; you could basically read people's minds and were constantly feeling what they were feeling. This was reasonably easy to ignore when one-on-one with someone, but in crowded areas, you got overwhelmed easily with all the extra feelings coursing through your veins. As a result, you didn’t leave your house much except to go to work, although your best friend did bribe you with free chai lattes to go to her cafe once a week, so you weren’t a complete shut-in.
But unlike everyone else, you couldn’t feel anything from Sung JInwoo. Why was that? What was so different about him? He must feel something, but you couldn’t sense anything from him. Even when all your colleagues were in awe of his aura when he came in for his re-evaluation, you felt nothing. The man was a mystery to you. One you weren't sure you wanted to solve.
A shout from behind made you look over your shoulder just in time to see a gate close.
That wasn’t there when you walked that section of the street earlier. Perplexing. You saw someone stagger before collapsing to the floor. With only the slightest hesitation, you ran over to the person.
By the time you reached them, they had dragged themselves over to lean on the wall of the adjacent building. You slowed your approach as you took in the scene.
Jinwoo?
You couldn't quite believe your eyes; the man was exhausted and…shirtless.
He looked up as you approached, a slightly panicked look in his eyes as he glanced around as if to check if anyone else was around.
“Uh, hi” his voice was a rumble.
“Are you okay?” You had reached him now and crouched down, eyes scanning his body to check to see if there were any injuries. Miraculously, it appeared not; it was just exhausted.
“When you've finished checking me out. Yeah, I'm fine.” he sounded almost annoyed at your presence.
“Hey, you're the one that just collapsed out of a gate.” Your voice now took on an annoyed tone; if he didn't want your help, then so be it. You stood up, getting ready to leave.
“I-I'm sorry.” he had the decency to look sheepish. “I wasn’t expecting anyone to be here. What are you doing out so late anyway?”
“Looking for night fairies, what do you think?” sarcasm laced your voice; when he just kept looking at you, you continued, sighing, “Walking home from work” he seemed even more confused by this answer, but before he could question you “Look do you want my help or not?”
“What could you do for me? It’s not like I'm injured” The anger had left his voice, but it still felt like it rumbled through your chest.
“You'd be surprised what a skilled healer can do.” You shrugged.
“Go on then, surprise me” A smirk graced his lips. A cocky smile that on anyone else would have made your blood curdle, but on Jinwoo, it didn’t. It reminded you of when you used to know him.
You crouched back down next to him and held out your hands. “Full Recovery” A green glow emanated around him briefly before dissipating, and he signed with relief. Full Recovery was a skill the system gave you when you reached a high enough level, but you had never used it on someone else before. Satisfied it worked, you met Jinwoo's eyes, which were full of confusion. That was your cue to leave.
You got up quickly, collecting your bag where it had fallen when you crouched down.
“Right, well, you're all better now. Bye.” You waved as you turned to continue your journey home. You could hear him calling after you, but you just ignored him; picking up the pace, you nearly ran the rest of the way home.
You slam the front door to your apartment shut behind you. Only slightly out of breath, you made your way to the kitchen, only a few steps from the door of your modest home. The events of the night run over through your head.
You had been so careful for so many years, and tonight, you had made 2 people, 2 S-Rank Hunters, suspicious of you. You make yourself a cup of tea to help calm your nerves, which were shot after the day you’ve just had. As you sip from the too-hot drink, you survey your surroundings, wondering how easy it would be to pack up your life if things got too heated here in Korea. Your worn-in sofa and bookshelf, sagging from the weight of the books on its shelves, were things you definitely could not live without. But then, so was your gaming set up with sat on the opposite side of the room complete with state-of-the-art PC (that you didn't even want to think how much it cost you, but it was more than a couple months rent), dual screens and surround sound set up.
No! Think positively! You scolded yourself, both mentally and on your hot tea. Tomorrow was your day off work, so you could hide out in your apartment and come up with a plan of action if either Baek Yoonho or Sung Jinwoo started to ask the wrong questions.
You knew if they looked too deep into your files, they would see that you were no ordinary E-Rank, thanks to the twice-yearly physical you had to do because you worked for the association. Luckily, though, you were the only person with access to those files, so they had to go through you to get them. And you could always fudge the results if they were a little too extraordinary. You breathed a sigh of relief, thanking the Gods you had chosen the right career path to help keep the Systems and your secrets.
Having finished your drink, you were ready to call it a night, thankful you had the beginning of a plan. Your bedroom was a reasonable size, complete with a double bed and a wardrobe for your clothes, as well as enough room to actually navigate around them, unlike some of the apartments you had looked at during your house-hunting days. Exhausted from the day, you fell into bed and slept deeply that night, dreaming of the mystery player that had awakened and why they needed additional protection. What could they possibly do that would draw so much attention to them that people would start to question if another force was involved?

𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬
Tumblr media
Your lover is forced to work far away from you and they are just not having it! They should be breathing the same air as you and not be put far away! Alas, they don't have a choice but to finish this errand quick.
Tumblr media
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 is not having it. Being away from you for a long time for this silly field trip wannabe? Why must his loyal, mafia ass-shit client get himself into another trouble that requires him to work on-site, away from the house, away from you?
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 will actually make a manual on handling every possibility that he could think of happening to you and hand it to his men and the maids working. What to do if Spouse doesn't want to eat? What to do if Spouse is suddenly sick? What to do if Spouse is throwing tantrum-
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 bets that anyone who upset Spouse while he was away will have their fingers removed, the number of fingers removed depends on how fatal their mistake was although he was positive that his and this annoying Mafia Ringleader's men are trained enough to prevent that from happening.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 will get you some gifts, lots of gifts. Really, he's a simple man. Oh and if by chance you two manage to have children, they only get 1/10 what he gets for you. Cry about it, brats.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 will turn all explosive toward anyone who slows down his work, your average angry demanding boss except that he doesn't explode with illogical bullshits. Might accidentally smack Kaspar (the client) once right in his face out of fuming anger.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 who will be all clingy (rare, very rare) once he gets home because dude. He was away for some time, looking at all these mf faces that were not even you. Give him lots of cuddles, and kisses and just treat him like a puppy for today because he will return to normal again the next day, IT'S YOUR ONLY CHANCE.
"Woah, you get a lot for me, dear. How about I share some with the kids?" (If you have it) "Sure, but I doubt they can use any of it." Yulian replies nonchalantly as he watches you unwrap everything. He is a menace for purposely picking up stuff the kids won't be able to use (haha!).
Tumblr media
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 gets all grumpy for it! Do they think it's fun having to trick you into allowing him to go on this shitty field trip? Ohhh come on now, you know he works as some sort of programmer or hacker, one that definitely doesn't need him to work ON SITE!!
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 will have to force both of your friends (and his) to take care of you. As much as you all are close to each other, he is not a fan of letting them watch you in his stead. Sure, this close friend of yours is used to taking care of you, you once lived with him after all.
But the jealousy factor of not being able to manage everything is still there! And his childhood friend, she might have a bad influence on you for the month he is away! Sure, your friend will not allow that but he's just skeptical of everyone! He doesn't trust anyone but him holding the leash to your coll- ekhem, watching you.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 will get all explosive, irrationally too. Not only toward people who slow his work down but to all his men. Trust me, it was hell for everyone. One wrong word and a punch will meet their face~
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 will actually spare some time to get gifts for you and the others, of course, they only get a portion of what he gets for you. Will smile for once after a while at the thought of you unwrapping the presents eagerly and scare his men for a moment (Is boss finally losing it?)
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 will try his best to come home unscratched. Work is tough, yes but seeing you chiding him in worry is tougher! The more bruised up he is, the harder it'll be for him to slip out like an eel next time!
"Are you seriously only giving us these after all the troubles we have, taking care of your little friend?!" "God, look at what he got for you, let's swap." "Nuh-uh, get lost, Lemon." Blue cackles at the sight of you beaming from the gifts he hand-picked for you. Ah right, the gifts for the others are picked by his men since he can't be bothered about it.
Tumblr media
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫 is not a shady asshole like 𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 so no field trip.
Tumblr media
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 is rather indifferent about this. What can he do about this? Pass it and have people shoot him daggers from every angle for being irrational? Oh lol no, mon chèri. He values his life as much as he values yours.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 will station all his men to keep you safe and give everyone notice of 'whoever fucks up will have their head hung'. Effective enough to ensure the maids from doing anything dumb to you.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 is not as wary as Yulian but he is also not a lenient one as well. You get what the others get. Fuck around while he's away and find out what he has in store for you. Definitely not a pleasant one.
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 will surprisingly get something for you though just one. Quality over quantity, he'll quote. He was just too busy and unbothered to get something for you out of no occasion going on. Besides, he could just get you some when he is more relaxed and not so on guard like this. Wouldn't want to get all bruised up or even dead just because he is in a hunt for presents!
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 is as normal as usual. No explosive behavior, this is his 'daily' work. He's used to being away from you and he is used to being absent from your presence. (Bro literally wait for you to awaken from your coma).
𝐘𝐚𝐧! 𝐌𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 will smile at the sight of you unwrapping the said gift. He is content enough to see you awake and reacting to his gift, either with a scowl or a smile, it doesn't matter. What matters is that you are awake to see what he has bought for you.
"You know, I've always wished you could at least wake up and see the mountain of gifts I had prepared for you. But then I realized, no mountain of surprises would ever wake you up so I dusted it all down as a log of firewood." "You are just making up that story so that I will feel romantic about being given just a TRINKET?" 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐫 looks away from you comically while you shake him hard. That said, he means every word of it. (Angst baby)
Tumblr media
Note: I am rolling, why is everyone here so petty? Yulian to his (if he has) kids, Blue to Lemon and Grape while Eleanor just 👨🏻‍🦯

MASHLE MASTERLIST & MASHLE TAGLIST
Tumblr media
#MASH!
When he saw you eat your icecream like that he just make a confusse expression, he didn't understand you, so he titled his head a little, he raised his hand to ask you but instead of that he thought that you we're licking it like that because it was the most delicious icecream in the world, so he licked it but then he didn't find the answer. "I don't understand, why are you licking it like it? creampuffs taste way better than this." You just blushed and looked away, ashamed that he didn't notice, but then you heard the rest of the comment and sigh, it was mash just being mash.
#FINN!
When you where in your date you two bought icecreams, and finn invited you, since you have never try sex you taught that this was an opportunity to turn him on, and an extra point was that you were wearing something that let him see a peak of your boobs, of course when he noticed he couldn't help but look away with a red face. So you started seductively eating the icecream to then let the drops fall in your boobs, finn just look like he was a tomato, when he saw you do that, but then he looked at you and said. "y-you are doing it wrong" He said while turning away. and just answer him, "I know baby."
#LANCE!
When you decided to tease him, you weren't hoping it will turn out the way it did. Lance decided to make icecreams for your birthday party and you decided to use this opportunity to tease even tought it were in all of front of your friends. You started to lick the tip of the icecream has it were the tip of his dick. Lance gaze's didn't moved from you from all the party with a cold deadly grin, he was planning on how to get revenge for provoking him and make his the fabric of his boxer thight in such a pressure he couldn't handle, of course he trained a lot his patience when he teached his friends so he could hold a little bit but when the pressure was way too much he excused himself to go to the bathroom and jack off. You just smiled in such a satisfactory and cocky way, and Dot noticed what you too where doing, but you couldn't care less, but after Lance came back he cryied to him that he was too lucky to get such a beautiful girl to get him to tease him like that and by the way you licked your icecream you were such a goddess. That made Lance to give him the most deadly gaze and to even lift his wand ready to attack him, if he weren't for Lemon your room will probably end up a mess and destroyed. After your party he make you choke in his dick so bad that the only thing you could think off was his cock. And he even slap you when you were talking or smiling because he wanted to erase that cocky smile from your face.
#DOT!
You two were alone on a summer date and because of that you brought a strapless and u-shaped t-shirt giving him a peak of your boobs, he tryied to look other way that weren't your boobs but he couldn't help and he tought he was making it discrete but the reality is that anyone has notice that the first part that he looked at were your boobs. After that he bought you an icecream because that was his manual of dates said and you with an evil grin, just started to licking it with like it was a dick, Dot just try to articulate words but a redness cover his face and someblood started to fell under his nose . "You.. You, a-are d-oing it w-wro-ong" He said while looking away and lowering his tshirth with his hand so you couldn't notice the erection. "I know" you just smiled at him. You then choke on your icecream like you were chocking on a dick even though everyone was looking at you but you couldn't care less. Then he started shaking his head up and down, hitting himself with his hand. "It can be its just like in the porn movies." He said to himself and you couldn't help but laugh and whisper him "exactly." he just fell to the ground and said again to himself "Know I can die in peace" He said to just close his eyes and play dead.
#ABEL!
You two where in a date, and it was weird to no see abyss with him but he told you that you wanted some alone time with you, and you told him that you wanted and icecream and he almost bought all of the flavors that were avaible, until you told him that it wasn't neccesary. Then you too seat on a bank togheter and you started to lick it, it was your opportunity to turn him on since he had never been horny. So you made circles around the tip of the ice cream and he just looked at you confused. "What are you doing?". "Nothing you wouldn't like" You answer him. And after you two were at the school he make you swallow and lick his dick exactly the same.
#ABYSS!
You were sitting on a bank with him icecream on your hand, and you were holding hands, he had a slighty blush on his face since he had never experience love or physical touch before. But then you started to turn things naughty, he just looked away while you eating the icecream in such a seductive way that you could seduce anyone, he just looked away face more red. But you could notice his hand holding you tighter. But then he notice the bulge over his pants and look at you. "My lady can you stop?." He looked away a face more red. "Because if you don't I don't know if I am gonna be able to hold myself."
#RAYNE!
Since he was a divine visionary, he was very busy so dates with him were every one or two months, every two months it was a cute date and every one month was a date to just fuck you, but it came one time when he take you out to the cinema, a place in which you can both have some privacy, he was a wealthy man so he bought you anything you want even an icecream. You then started the movie and even though you weren't trying to provoke him, but the led noices were turning him on. So then he grabbed your chin and make you look at him, to then whisper. "Such a lewd girl, doing all of this because she is desperate of tasting his master's cock, want master to choke you on his cuck in front of all these people?" You just say no with your head, you didn't want to damage all of his reputation. He just choke you with his hand "Don't tell me what to do bunny, a pet doesn't get a saying on this." You could feel your legs already going weak as the way his voice ring in your ear. So he just take you the bathroom and make you suck his cock while he chocked you feeling his cock down you throat.

HRMS Explained: What Is a Human Resource Management System?
Tumblr media
Remember when HR departments were drowning in paperwork, filing cabinets, and endless spreadsheets? Those days are rapidly becoming history as businesses embrace digital transformation.
Today’s workforce management challenges are more complex than ever. Remote work, compliance requirements, employee expectations, and data-driven decision making have fundamentally changed how organisations manage their people.
Whether you’re a small business in Sydney, a mid-sized manufacturer in Melbourne, or a large organisation across Australia and New Zealand, understanding Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) isn’t just helpful – it’s essential for staying competitive.
This comprehensive guide will demystify HRMS technology, explore its core capabilities, and help you understand how modern HR software like Sentrient’s integrated platform can transform your people management processes from reactive administration to strategic workforce planning.
What Is a HRMS? – Complete Definition and Context
A Human Resource Management System (HRMS) is a comprehensive digital platform that automates, streamlines, and integrates all core HR functions within a single system. Think of it as your organisation’s digital command centre for managing every aspect of the employee lifecycle.
HRMS technology combines multiple HR functions – from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and compliance tracking into one cohesive platform. This integration eliminates data silos, reduces manual processes, and provides real-time insights into your workforce.
You might also encounter terms like HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and HCM (Human Capital Management). While these terms are often used interchangeably, HRMS typically refers to the broader operational platform, whilst HRIS focuses more on data management and HCM emphasises strategic talent development.
The key distinction between HRMS and traditional Human Resource Management (HRM) lies in the technology component. HRM refers to the strategic approach and processes of managing people, whilst HRMS is the digital platform that enables and enhances these processes.
Modern HRMS platforms like Sentrient’s solution go beyond basic HR functions, integrating compliance management, GRC capabilities, and learning management systems to provide a truly comprehensive workforce management ecosystem.
Brief History and Evolution of HRMS
The journey of HRMS began in the 1970s with basic payroll automation systems that replaced manual calculations and cheque writing processes.
The 1990s and 2000s brought internet connectivity and early cloud computing, enabling more sophisticated features like employee self-service portals and basic reporting capabilities.
Today’s HRMS platforms leverage artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and mobile-first design to provide predictive insights, automated workflows, and seamless user experiences that would have been unimaginable just a decade ago.
Who Uses HRMS? – Stakeholder Breakdown
1. HR Professionals and Managers use HRMS as their primary workspace for managing employee data, processing workflows, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation across Australian states and territories.
2. Employees interact with HRMS through self-service portals to update personal information, submit leave requests, access training materials, and participate in performance reviews without needing HR intervention.
3. Recruiters leverage HRMS for managing talent pipelines, tracking applicant progress, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new hires seamlessly.
4. Executive Leadership relies on HRMS analytics and reporting for strategic workforce planning, budget allocation, compliance monitoring, and measuring the ROI of HR initiatives.

Empowering Safety and Wellbeing: Instructor Courses for High-Risk Work and Mental Health
Tumblr media
In today's dynamic work environments, safety and wellbeing have become paramount. With the increasing demand for competent safety trainers, instructor-level certifications such as the Working at Height Instructor Course, Working at Heights Instructor Course, and Mental Health First Aid Instructor Course play a vital role in preparing professionals to lead, teach, and protect others in challenging scenarios.
Working at Height Instructor Course
The Working at Height Instructor Course is designed for individuals aiming to train workers who are exposed to height-related risks. This course equips instructors with the skills to deliver comprehensive training on safe work practices when operating above ground level, including scaffolding, ladders, rooftops, and elevated platforms. The curriculum typically covers risk assessment, harness inspection and use, fall arrest systems, emergency procedures, and legal compliance.
Becoming a certified instructor in this field not only enhances career prospects but also empowers professionals to influence workplace safety culture. Instructors learn how to develop engaging, practical training sessions that meet both regulatory standards and individual learning needs. With construction, maintenance, and industrial sectors continually growing, the need for knowledgeable instructors is on the rise.
Working at Heights Instructor Course
While often used interchangeably with the “working at height” course, the Working at Heights Instructor Course may vary slightly in structure or regional compliance requirements. This course is particularly critical in jurisdictions with specific working at height legislation and mandatory training protocols. It provides in-depth instruction on fall prevention, proper equipment use, and rescue planning.
What sets this course apart is its alignment with region-specific regulatory bodies, such as OSHA in the U.S. or the Ministry of Labour in Canada. Instructors not only gain technical knowledge but also learn instructional techniques to effectively communicate safety practices to diverse audiences. The goal is to reduce workplace accidents and promote a culture of accountability and preparedness.
Mental Health First Aid Instructor Course
While physical safety is crucial, mental wellbeing is equally important. The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Instructor Course is a transformative program that trains individuals to teach MHFA to others. This course enables instructors to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide critical support in situations involving anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and more.
Instructors are taught how to deliver the standard MHFA course using a blend of educational techniques, group facilitation, and scenario-based learning. Participants also learn to create inclusive environments that encourage open discussions around mental health. This certification is especially relevant for HR professionals, educators, managers, and safety officers who want to take a proactive role in supporting mental health in their organizations.
Conclusion
Pursuing instructor-level certifications in working at height and mental health first aid is more than a professional development step—it’s a commitment to leadership, safety, and compassion. These courses prepare individuals not only to teach but to inspire safer and more supportive workplaces. Whether you’re passionate about physical safety or mental wellbeing, becoming an instructor in these fields is a powerful way to make a lasting difference.

What do you think about an AU where Shen Jiu suffers a Qi Deviation the day before Luo Binghe's disciple selection, so he misses it, and no one selects him. His, of course, devastated until they announced that if anyone wants another chance, they can earn one in Bai Zhan. LBH becomes a Bai Zhan disciple, but since the world needs him to have a scum teacher, Shen Jiu's role is now transferred to Liu Qingge.
With the switching of fate, now anytime Luo Binghe crosses paths with Shen Jiu, he sees him at either his more vulnerable or when he does something that clearly contradicts the rumors. When he sees Liu Qingge with Shen Jiu, all he sees are the worst interactions where the aggressor is his teacher. In this life, SJ is the victim in LBH eyes and LQG the bully.
In this life, all of SJ's bad luck suddenly goes to LQG. So when he Qi deviates in the caves his alone as Shen Jiu enters much later than intended. His near death when his saved, but his cultivation is irreparable damaged. Suddenly, Liu Qingge becomes the embittered teacher with the ruin cultivation. His confined to his peak and forced to be a teacher for the first time. But of course, his neglect becomes obvious as he doesn't know how to, and, in LBH's eyes, the negligence now becomes abuse. It becomes LQG taking out his frustration out on his students.
So among his fellow disciples' brutal hazing and bullying (because no one can convince me that he wouldn't be seen as the runt of the litter, and they wouldn't try to toughing him up via violence), Luo Binghe now has to deal with his teacher's abuse on top of that. So he still has a terrible time at Cang Qiong regardless of which peak he ends up. But his and Shen Jiu's fate are still entwined. SJ sees this orphan who grew up in poverty being beaten for no reason by his peers and teacher and projects hard. So, due to triggered trauma and spite, he takes LBH under his wing. Like teaching him to write better, giving him a good cultivation manual for a physical cultivator, and even giving him lessons in strategy. Meanwhile, Luo Binghe, who has abandonment issues because he wasn't picked by the other Peak lords and literally had to fight for his place in the sect, quickly grows attached to the one Peak Lord who wasn't there at his selection (who could have picked him that day if he wasn't bed ridden) and actually seems to treat him kindly. Who takes his claims of abuse against Liu Qingge seriously, even if no one else does. Who advocates for him even if doing so causes Shen Jiu nothing but grief as no one takes him seriously as well.
So, whichever the universe, Shen Jiu still ends up as Luo Binghe's shizun in one way or another as their fates are forever linked.
I don't think Luo Binghe could handle Bai Zhan tbh. He could not handle Shen Qingqiu, I don't see him being able to take beatings from LQG, who is the War God.
This is a nice AU, a role switch with Shen Jiu in the role of hero/savoir. It's plausible.
If you took it all the way though, and dropped LBH into the abyss that could result in some fun conflict when he returns. He can't destroy the peaks because Shen Qingqiu won't let him. And it would be interesting if LBH's abuse wasn't acknowledged, bc LQG beating his disciples is not considered abuse in canon. It's somehow educational training though it is literally described as beatings and not as sparring.
No need to shy away from that.
LBH can still hate LQG for throwing him into the abyss or trying to kill him for being a demon + the beatings which he thinks are abuse but no one else does. A Shen Qingqiu who doesn't have LQG breathing down his neck and accusing him of shit or being unbeatable may very well be calm enough to take on an extra disciple. He might even sell at as a gracious favour to LQG, taking the difficult brat LBH off his hands.

[CN] Shaw's Dual Cultivation Pact Date - Part 1
⚡Warning: This post contains detailed spoilers for a Date which hasn’t been released in EN yet!⚡
Tumblr media
[Released Date: 4 August 2024]
[Section 1]
Tumblr media
Mayor: To be honest, we really shouldn’t bother you with such trivial matters… Mayor: If the fairy hadn't set up a large formation here to protect our town over the years, I'm afraid this area would have been trampled by demons…
The old man in front of me complimented me endlessly, but at the critical moment, he hesitated to speak and kept looking at my face.
Looking at his submissive look, I felt a little funny, so I lazily changed my sitting position and spoke directly.
MC: There's no need for small talk. The old gentleman wants to talk about Shaw, right?
Hearing the name "Shaw", the villagers shivered instinctively and gritted their teeth before nodding.
Mayor: That's right! That's him! That disciple of yours is acting too arrogantly!
The mayor immediately started talking and complained endlessly.
Basically, it all boils down to Shaw being rude when traveling the world, being selective when fighting demons, and not knowing how to hold back. It's all just boring stuff.
I blocked a yawn with my sleeve, but the mayor didn't notice my impatience. He took a sip of strong tea and patted his knee.
Mayor: …..This time, he went even further and actually tied butcher Qian to a tree, using him as bait to attract ghosts! MC: Oh. Mayor: Butcher Qian was so frightened that he was still lying in bed! MC: ….oh. Mayor: Their whole family depends on him for food. Life is really difficult these days, so… ?.?: So what?
A voice sounded above my head. I looked up and met a pair of playful eyes.
It's Shaw. He sat back on the beam, dangling his long legs, and smiled at me leisurely, then turned his eyes to the mayor.
The young man's tone clearly carried a smile, but his words were as sharp as a blade.
Tumblr media
Shaw: I’m asking you, so what? Mayor: No, nothing!!
The mayor stood up in a hurry and almost knocked over the unfinished tea cup.
Mayor: ——Fairy MC, Taoist Master Shaw, I suddenly remembered that I have something to do at home, so I’ll take my leave first!
Before I had a chance to speak, Shaw had already leapt down from the beam and landed right in front of me, just as the mayor scrambled away in a hurry.
He first gave a cold sneer, then swept the teacup the man had used out the door with a flick of his sleeve, treating it like trash.
Tumblr media
Shaw: What was he here for? MC: What do you say? MC: Of course, he's here to complain about you, my 'recalcitrant disciple,' being too disobedient and in need of correction.
Shaw: Hey, who is your disciple? Do you still want to train me?
I fiddled with the tassels on my whisk and curled my lips.
MC: Since you're not my disciple, why do you have the right to look at the cultivation manuals and texts I've collected?
Tumblr media
Shaw: No reason. Anyway, I want to read it, and you can’t stop me, right? Shaw: Besides, I haven’t looked at your cultivation manuals for nothing. Shaw: Since I came here, haven't you been able to practice your cultivation with peace of mind, without having to be invited down the mountain by these people every once in a while?
Back then, Shaw appeared at my courtyard gate without any warning.
He claimed to be a wandering martial Taoist, here to find someone, and while he was at it, to do some ghost and demon exorcism work to make a bit of extra money.
Seeing that he had good aptitude, I casually gave him some pointers.
In return, while he was traveling down the mountain, he used my name and handled many mundane affairs on my behalf.
This subtle understanding has continued until now. But now…
MC: Other things might be forgivable, but why were you so harsh with the butcher Qian? Shaw: Didn't you tell me about Qian Butcher before? This fat man encountered a demon with his brother when he was young. He pushed his brother into the demon's mouth and ran away. Shaw: Afterwards, feeling guilty, he came to you for help with rituals and prayers, didn't he?
While he was talking leisurely, he poured a cup of tea and pushed it in front of me.
I took a sip of the tea and briefly recalled that I might have mentioned this during one of our casual chats over tea and meals.
MC: What does this have to do with you bleeding him to attract ghosts?
Tumblr media
Shaw: It doesn't matter, I just want to say... I am much kinder than him. Shaw: He used a human life to feed the demons, while I only use a vial of blood and a bit of courage... With all the clamor, aren’t I still kind-hearted?
When Shaw leaned toward me, the faint scent of tea flowers escaped from his collar, and I held my breath.
MC: You might think it's just the way it is, but let me remind you of something… MC: Next time, do it more discreetly, lest the old man come up the mountain again and bore me to death.
Shaw burst out laughing.
He originally had sharp features and a somewhat arrogant appearance. When he smiled, his demeanor became even more unruly and bold. He didn't seem like a righteous person dedicated to expelling demons and upholding justice, but rather like a little devil causing trouble in the world.
When he stopped laughing, I asked him some more about his experiences at the foot of the mountain, and all I got were answers that were completely different from the mayor's.
Tumblr media
Shaw: ...I scolded him because he deserved it. I told him not to go out during the time of demons, but he insisted on strolling around. All I can say is that if he died, he brought it on himself. Shaw: ...Is a poor person's life worth less? Anyway, I’ll go help where I want to help. If he's in a hurry, he can ask another Taoist priest. Shaw [sighs]: …That demon was quite powerful. I was caught off guard, which is why it managed to set half the village on fire. If I had known earlier, I would have learned from her. MC [surprised]: Her?
When I heard this word, my heart felt like it was gently pulled by a thread, but my face was still smiling.
MC: Are you referring to Fairy Xuanhe when you say "her"?
Tumblr media
Shaw: Yes, who else could it be?
I looked at Shaw, and he confidently spread his hands.
Shaw: If she were to handle it, she would probably crush the monster to ashes, and avoid the troubles that would follow. MC: Not necessarily. MC: Fairy Xuanhe has an eccentric personality and cruel methods, which will only cause more trouble. MC: Maybe if she wasn’t in a good mood while exorcizing demons, she might set the village on fire herself. Shaw: …..
Shaw narrowed his eyes and twitched the corner of his mouth.
Tumblr media
Shaw: MC, I originally thought you were different from the rest of the world. Shaw: It turns out you think of her the same way. MC: It’s not that I think of her that way, it’s that everyone in the world thinks so. Shaw: Everyone in the world? Shaw [scoffs]: I don’t care what everyone in the world does, I just ask you, do you also think that Fairy Xuanhe is a fallen witch?
I averted my gaze, avoiding the sight of Shaw's hand slowly curling into a fist, and spoke each word deliberately.
MC: Does what I think matter? MC: Shaw, she is dead. Don't look for her anymore. It will only make you have delusional thoughts… Shaw: I do not believe.
Shaw interrupted me coldly.
Shaw: Unless I see her body with my own eyes, I won't believe it.
He had reached this point, and I knew that it would be useless to say more, so I could only close my mouth.
A long silence brewed between me and him. When the teacup on the table was no longer warm, Shaw finally stood up.
He picked up a few books on my table and waved at me.
Tumblr media
Shaw: It's time for me to leave. Please lend me these few volumes of exercises and return them to you later. Shaw: By the way, remember to treat me with a different kind of tea next time, this one is too unpleasant to drink. MC: Whoever wants to entertain you, please return the book to me!
I shouted angrily at Shaw's back, only to receive a wanton chuckle from him.
[Section 2]
Tumblr media
Ever since the earth's spiritual veins were tainted by demonic energy a century ago, monsters have been rampant everywhere. Not only have people been living in constant unease, but even the flowers and plants have lost their vibrancy, always appearing withered and desolate.
Sighing, I broke off a few withered branches and finally discovered a cluster of blooming flowers.
MC: ...Although they bloomed a bit later than last year, it's good that we met again.
I reached out my hand with joy and touched the petals.
It gently swayed its branches, as if responding to my mood. A drop of night dew fell from its petal tip, moistening my fingertips.
I brushed away the water stain, and my thoughts drifted away, following the spreading fingerprints.
Shaw [in a low voice]: What are you doing?
A slender hand suddenly appeared before my eyes, emanating a familiar, stronger fragrance of blooming tea from the sleeve.
Only then did I come back to my senses and turn around to glare at Shaw.
MC: Why do you scare me every time you come here?
Tumblr media
Shaw: Are you scared? I see that your expression is very calm every time. MC: Hmph, it's just my refined demeanor. Shaw: Yes, yes, who doesn’t know that Fairy MC is unparalleled and her joy and anger are never visible in her expressions.
Shaw casually quarreled with me, raised his eyebrows, and looked around.
Tumblr media
Shaw: How do I feel... your yard is much prettier than the last time I came here? MC: You always come in autumn and winter, so how can you see any flowers and plants? It's almost summer now, and of course the flowers are blooming more. Shaw: Indeed, you must have put a lot of thought into raising these delicate little things so well, right? MC: Fortunately, it doesn’t matter if you spend more time thinking on the things you like. Shaw: As long as you like it, will you spend more time and effort?
Shaw's rhetorical question came out of nowhere. I was a little surprised and turned to look at him. But I saw his eyes falling directly on my face as if he was confirming something.
Being stared at by him made me feel a little nervous, and I bit my lip.
MC: What's wrong...don't you know how? Shaw: Of course, I do too.
Shaw finally looked away and raised the corners of his mouth.
Tumblr media
Shaw: I will not put just "a little" thought into something I like, but will use all my strength and risk everything to win it.
Indeed, you're still too young. Only someone youthful would casually use words like 'exhaust' and 'everything,' which carry such a resolute meaning. I couldn’t help but chuckle.
MC: You'd better keep some for yourself. You've finally achieved results in your cultivation. Wouldn't it be a big loss if you gambled it all away? Shaw: Lose or win, I have the final say.
After he finished speaking, he paused and added another sentence.
Shaw: MC...has my practice really paid off? MC: Certainly. Even if you don’t know how many boundaries you have broken, you can still feel the yang energy in your body being filled, right? Shaw: That's true... Lately, when I've been walking at night, no wandering spirits or ghosts dare to come near me.
Shaw muttered, handing me a few scrolls from his arms.
Tumblr media
Shaw: I'm really curious, where exactly did you get these techniques from? Shaw: I've been stuck at a bottleneck in my cultivation for a long time. I've sought help from both reputable sects and unorthodox paths, but nothing has worked—I've been stuck at the same level. Shaw: Ever since I started using your techniques, cultivation has become remarkably easy. MC: These are all techniques I created myself. Besides, isn't it a good thing that they're simple to practice?
I took the scrolls and calmly met his gaze.
MC: Just think that this fairy is an unparalleled genius and happened to be so compassionate that she helped you.
Tumblr media
Shaw: Hahaha, this is the first time I have seen someone say that she is a genius!
He laughed so loudly that I couldn't help but pout.
MC: Is that not okay? Shaw: Of course, this genius fairy is so cute.
His straightforward words made my face heat up slightly, and I quickly changed the topic.
MC: Okay, tell me what you have experienced during this time.
In order to ensure the stability of the formation and peace in all directions, I have been living in the mountains for a long time. I rely on Shaw to tell me everything I know about the outside world.
Who did you meet, what demon did you kill, what food and wine did you eat…
From Shaw's gentle words, I could hear, see, and feel the long-lost warmth of the everyday world.
But this time as I listened, I suddenly noticed something was wrong.
MC: ..... Even if this monster makes you unhappy, you can just get rid of it. Is it necessary to beat it half to death and throw it in front of its deadly enemy?
Tumblr media
Shaw [scoffs]: Oh, it offended me, why should I let it die happily? Shaw: Of course, I have to let it be tortured to death by its mortal enemy so that I can feel relieved. MC: ……Nonsense.
Is he imitating Fairy Xuanhe's method again? Looking at Shaw's face, I swallowed these words and sighed lightly.
MC: When I first met you, you were still a very well-behaved child.
Tumblr media
Shaw [clicks his tongue]: Tsk, who are you calling a kid? Do you really think you're that much older? Shaw: Besides, when I saw you, I looked pretty much the same as I do now. Where exactly do you think I still seem like a kid?
Shaw took a step forward. With his tall stature and sharp demeanor, his presence was imposing and gave off the pressure of an adult man, making it difficult to resist.
I couldn't help but take a step back. Seeing me retreat, Shaw seemed to find it amusing and continued to advance, matching my steps.
The more I retreated, the further he advanced, until I had nowhere left to back up. My back pressed against the flower stand, and I found myself surrounded by the intense fragrance of blooming flowers.
I couldn't help but stare at him, but he just smiled at me.
MC: Is it fun?
Tumblr media
Shaw [whispers seductively]: Fun. Shaw: Seeing the clumsy fairy retreating like this, not even bothering to use a spell to push me away, is really amusing... Eh!
I immediately did as he wished, swinging my whisk and sending a gust of energy that forcefully pushed him backward.
Shaw stumbled a few steps before steadying himself with the flower pot, but the corner of his mouth was still turned up in a smile.
Shaw: You pushed me too far. MC: You should just stand there. Shaw: I prefer not.
As he spoke, Shaw plucked a blue lotus from the flower pot and approached me again.
He raised his hand and placed the blue lotus hairpin into my hair.
MC: …..?
I looked at him, puzzled, and met his gaze with his crescent-shaped eyebrows and eyes.
Tumblr media
Shaw [in a sweet voice]: This is just a token of gratitude for lending me your techniques. MC: Shaw, you borrowed my books and now you’re giving me one of my own flowers as a return gift? You're the one being foolish!
Shaw [whispers seductively x1]: Maybe. Shaw [x2]: But the fairy looks quite beautiful like this.
His whisper was low and seductive, but also with a subtle hint of caution.
In those bright eyes, there was only my reflection: the snowy white robe and the delicate blue lotus.
The fragrance of the blooming flowers grew more intense, like a fine wine nearing its perfect brew.
My heart raced as if something long-awaited was about to appear before me.
MC: Shaw….
Tumblr media
Shaw [x3]: I remember she looked like this when I first saw her.
Everything was shattered, and my face instantly turned cold.
I swung the whisk again, and this time, Shaw was sent outside the courtyard, a hundred meters away, before he even had a chance to make a sound.
MC [coldly]: I won't accept it.

Cascade (part 4)
And here we have the internship beginning.
(Kei notes some divergences from what happened in Shell Game in her narration as we go. For the most part, these can be attributed to having way less time to meet up with her teammates and get them acclimated to Japan.)
Sorry, Ingenium.
After saying goodbye to the other students at the Musutafu train station, neither Kei or Iida talked during the trip to Hosu City.
While it wasn’t that uncommon for Kei to zone out completely on public transit, Iida would’ve said something out of politeness at the very least. There wasn’t that much of a crowd on the late morning train compared to either rush hour. They’d even both managed to find seats rather than clutching the overhead handles or the various vertical handholds.
Instead, Kei dug a book out of her non-regulation backpack and read with her forearms leaning on her costume’s carry case. Every once in a while, she’d either shoot a deadly glare at someone trying to approach the more-recognizable Iida or look at her classmate in concern. The former scared off interlopers, while the latter had no apparent effect.
Iida just sat there, like a super-tense robot.
Kei wasn’t even as close to him as Midoriya and Uraraka were, so directly asking how Iida felt…didn’t quite work, in her head. She didn’t have the kind of rapport where she could just say what was on her mind. Or punch it out of him and remain friends after. That was a Gai thing.
And we would not want that.
Though guess being genuinely me could still go worse. With a sigh, Kei turned her attention back to her light novel. Hopefully, some fictional violence would take her mind off some of the impending actual violence for a while.
Before she knew it, they were walking out into bright sunshine in a city Kei had patrolled once. Just not as herself.
Manual, the Normal Hero, turned out to be a plain-faced man with a generic ocean theme to his costume. His visored helmet even had a fin top, though nothing functional. Practical white boots, yellow gloves, and a skintight shirt divided evenly between blue and white rounded out the look. He greeted his case-toting interns with a smile and a wave and didn’t seem at all awkward about it. Manual didn’t seem to mind that Iida’s behavior and countenance was a little terse or that Kei tried to stay in Iida’s shadow all the way from the train station to his pro agency.
While Kei’s counterfeit Quirk was stronger than his by orders of magnitude, Manual was really no weaker than the average Kiri-nin. Like most shinobi, he relied on water already present in his environment to do his work, but in a city, he was never that far from a fire hydrant. More importantly, operating in an urban environment usually gave him a lot of pro hero allies within shouting distance.
For all intents and purposes, he was an ordinary pro hero with ordinary responsibilities in a city with a serious serial killer infestation.
Kei felt kind of bad for him, because both of his interns brought ulterior motives along with their literal baggage. Not bad enough to confess to anything, of course, but the thought lingered.
“Well, now that you’ve both arrived safely, let’s get you situated.” Manual didn’t have the same kind of winning smile as, say, All Might, but he didn’t really need it. He beckoned them to follow him into the building. “To cut down on the commute somewhat, my agency will provide room and board for the week. We also have locker rooms so you can get changed quickly for our first patrol. Meal breaks may vary a little depending on what’s happening in the field, but we’ll take good care of you.”
“Thank you, Manual-sensei,” Iida managed with a third of his usual bombast.  Still, he bowed.
Kei clasped both hands over her costume case and mirrored him. “We’ll be sure to learn a lot from you this week, Manual-sensei.”
“I have no doubt!”
Kei’s borrowed room was smaller than her apartment’s bedroom, but it didn’t need to really be more than a cot and bathroom access to make her happy. Manual’s agency even had on-site laundry service, so the backpack she’d brought along would suffice for the entire week. Locking the door behind her, she quickly stripped out of her UA uniform and made the change to her “hero” costume.
Unlike some hero students who a) thought out their requests and b) chose a company that could take criticism, Kei dreaded looking at what she’d be wearing for most of this week.  Even now, the design was a short, sleeveless kimono in dark blue wave patterns, long (unarmored) gloves that reached her biceps and only covered one finger apiece. It’d taken a round of angry revision notes to even get ultra-lightweight armor incorporated into the torso keep her vital organs covered.
Maybe they’d only given ground because Kei destroyed the first iteration “by accident” during the USJ incident. She’d probably never know. It fell on the cot with a faint rattle, though, so at least the nano-whatever weave chainmail component was still there.
Might as well get it over with. Kei took a deep breath and checked on the rest of the costume.
While the boots included shinguards, the designers went with a tabi look for the actual shoe component. The pants appeared to be basically skintight swimming trunks, probably because her listed Quirk incorporated so much water manipulation. And for some fucking reason, there was an obi with a massive bow on the back, trailing behind her as she walked. Kei was going to trip and eat pavement because of that thing someday.
Overall, what Kei pulled out of the case had barely been changed. She just got an extra belt with some pockets for stowing things like utility knives and little adhesive bandages for civilian boo-boos.
When Kei inevitably did an about-face and started her career of villainy as Cascade, the City Drowner, she’d start with the support company and knock their building down brick by brick. Yes, a safer bet would be to go to UA’s Support Department and demand revisions from people who weren’t so obstinate, but it would be so satisfying. Vindictively.
Still, she put it on. Including the hitai-ate that wasn’t Konoha’s. And the makeup to downplay her scar. The goal here was to appear as normal as possible—as a hero hopeful—to anyone observing her and not rock any boats. Certainly not literal ones, either. No matter how much looking at her reflection in the provided mirror felt wrong.
“All right.” Kei clapped her hands together to shock herself awake. She closed her costume case and took a deep breath. “I can do this.”
Kei emerged from her temporary quarters feeling as awkward as she had during the Sports Festival, but no longer concealed by her official gym uniform and a whole crowd of similarly-dressed kids. There was no more camouflage to be had.
“Ah, Gekkō-san, right on time.” Manual got up from his desk and waved. “Once Iida-kun is ready to go, we can take on your first patrol as young hero-hopefuls.”
“Thanks, Manual-sensei.” Kei crossed her arms as they settled in to wait for Iida in the agency’s lobby. It didn’t really help cover her discomfort, but it did make her feel slightly better.
“Hm, that reminds me—what’s your hero name? I don’t remember seeing it on your paperwork.”
“Oh. It’s, um, Cascade. The Mist Hero.” Ugh, I sound like such a fake. Kei managed to mutter a rather lackluster explanation involving deadlines, not really enunciating any of it.
Manual gave her a thumbs-up likely meant to inspire confidence in the downtrodden.  “That’s all right, Gekkō-san. I’ll just be sure to use it so you can get used to how it feels. I’m sure you’ll live up to the aspirations embodied by that name!”
More like live down to them. Heroes like Manual were so painfully earnest it made Kei’s hair want to stand on end. What did she do with that? “That’s…nice of you to say…”
“Well, here’s one more nice thing then: I think your hero costume looks good.”
Kei winced. She felt her whole body lean into that scrap of honesty and hated it just a little.
“I take it you don’t?”
“…No, Manual-sensei. It doesn’t feel like me.” Because it wasn’t. Not really.
“Maybe one of the goals you can work on for this internship can involve that, then.” Manual suggested it like it wasn’t a big deal. “Feeling comfortable with yourself.”
To be fair, it probably wouldn’t be an important issue once Kei got into an actual fight. Most of the distractions faded away once her blood was up and there was someone who needed a beatdown.
But in the meantime? Uuuuuugh.
Thankfully, there was a shiny and chrome option right there. Manual also noticed, then waved, “Oh, Iida-kun! Over here.”
Iida’s full-on Ingenium look was so much more complicated—visually and emotionally—and storied than Kei’s ongoing fight with support companies. He got to look like either a sentai villain or a turbo mecha, and his armor theoretically deflected attacks before he had to see if they’d bounce of his bones. It was one of the reasons that Iida was completely jacked, apparently. Besides, well, the whole running lifestyle. His hero outfit also came with a helmet that almost entirely concealed his face—except for his eyes—and made his voice echo in a simultaneously cool and kinda creepy way.
Iida really should’ve taken a better internship somewhere else. Anywhere else.
“Manual-sensei, I’m ready for duty,” Iida said firmly, despite Kei’s doubts. He was so serious about this that he didn’t even swing his arms for emphasis. “Please lead the way.”
“Of course. Come along, you two.”
Patrol as a concept was…fine.
Mostly boring.
Kei didn’t exactly mind walking all over cities. A lot of what Hosu citizens wanted out of their local heroes was a token showing. If that meant they also got help taking in their laundry or rescuing cats from trees, so much the better. She did a lot of the same things in Konoha when just starting out as an adorable little genin. There was little expectation of violence in broad daylight. Even petty criminals—those stubborn or uncreative enough to strike without any stealth consideration—were lying low for the moment.
Basically, the point was deterrence. Though the Hero Killer had earned that title, he didn’t attack groups of heroes. No, he hunted solo operators. Or maybe just whoever separated from the pack, regardless of specifics. Now the city was crawling with potential fights and potential victims.
Kei mostly hoped Iida didn’t plan to shove his way into the ring. When Ingenium was attacked, he’d been running ahead of his sidekicks and fought a guy specialized in close combat in a blind alleyway. Obito barely managed to get him to the hospital afterward, and if not for Kakashi’s tracking abilities, they might never have found him at all. From what Kei’s teammates said about it, there was a real chance Iida Senior would never get the full use of his left arm back. And the engine in it was probably beyond repair.
“We’ll mostly be patrolling the local area so you can get a feel for how this works,” Manual said, living up to his name. “Later, we’ll branch out.”
“Yes, Manual-sensei!”
Still, Kei did miss running across rooftops with her friends. Her job today, though, was to stay firmly bound by gravity and societal expectations. And not hunt down Stain like the slippery bastard he was.
So, Kei patrolled. Mostly, this entailed following Manual like a duckling while making sure Iida didn’t stray. Though that last part wasn’t said aloud.
Broken up by meals, breaks, and gentle encouragement from their pro mentor, the first day passed peacefully. Almost too peacefully for Kei to sleep soundly that night.
But the next day was similar, despite her worries. The absolute highlight of the entire eight-hour stretch was when Manual asked her to create water for him to manipulate and put out a car that had hit a light pole and caught fire. Iida managed to keep the victims calm while alerting emergency services, who then had to cut the driver out of the vehicle. Overall, it was a good deed and only ruined progress during rush hour for twenty minutes more than usual.
And then, the third day. Honestly, Kei would’ve called it superstition if trouble had waited one more day into their internship, but it wasn’t to be.
On the third day, the patrol shift split between a morning and afternoon set. While Manual did lead Kei and Iida around until lunch, the next few hours after that involved a little bit of training and a lot of paperwork. According to Manual, almost everything pro heroes were responsible for involved forms in triplicate, and they’d be lucky if computers got involved at all. A lot of the smaller agencies loved their carbon paper. Even snagging the time for a nap amid the flurry of bureaucracy didn’t really improve Kei’s opinion of the whole thing.
Suffice to say that when it was time to head out just before sunset, Kei was happy to see the sky again.
“We’ll be patrolling Kyoto a little later tonight,” Manual explained as they went. “Sorry this is so monotonous.”
“No, it’s better this way,” Iida replied.
Kei nodded along, taking a moment to yawn and stretch before a potential third night of nothing much.
Instead of just continuing to walk until their feet all fell off, Manual drew up short and turned toward Iida. An unusually serious look was on his face. “Hey, Iida-kun. This is kind of hard to ask, but you’re after the Hero Killer, aren’t you?”
Iida startled. “How did you…?”
Manual’s expression went sheepish and self-deprecating laugh popped out of him. “I couldn’t think of any other reason you’d come to my agency.” Then his brain seemed to catch up with his mouth. “I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m glad you did, but…you shouldn’t be pursuing personal grudges.”
Good thing someone wants to talk about that.
“We heroes don’t have the authority to arrest people or punish them. The only reason we’re allowed to use our Quirks is because of the regulations put on them,” Manual pointed out.
…Though that part’s still bullshit.
“That’s why, no matter what their reason might be, a hero must not use their Quirk for themselves.” Manual actually glared at Iida. “If a pro hero used their powers solely for their own ends, it would be a very serious crime.”
Iida lowered his head just the slightest bit, as though shamed. Just a bit.
Conscious of the awkward atmosphere, Kei coughed to remind them both that she was still present.
With that tiny reminder, Manual’s seriousness cracked. Using the kind of choppy hand gestures that Iida normally did, he stumbled his way through his attempt to downplay how serious he’d been. “I’m not saying the Hero Killer isn’t incredibly guilty! You just seem like the really earnest type, you know? I’d hate for you to focus on one goal and ignore everything else.”
Like Iida doesn’t have tunnel vision fit for a train.
“Thank you,” Iida said, giving nothing away. “I appreciate your concern.”
Yeah, that wasn’t an actual concession. That was a very careful sidestep.
“Oh, it’s fine as long as you get what I’m saying.” Manual turned to lead them onward. “So, we good?”
He totally missed the way Iida’s fists clenched at his sides, the tension in his shoulders, or the weight still dragging him down. Or, if he did notice, Manual didn’t have the tools necessary to deal with Iida’s bellyful of vengeance before the Hero Killer finally put in an appearance.
Kei tapped Iida’s armor with her knuckles as she passed, since he was falling a little bit behind.
“Gekkō-san, what is it?”
“Let me know before you do something reckless,” Kei told him, pitching her voice carefully enough that Manual’s helmet wouldn’t let him catch it. “Don’t just run off.”
Iida didn’t say anything in reply. It was like he couldn’t acknowledge her concern without exploding, and thus needed to keep his focus entirely on putting one foot in front of the other. If it made him rude, maybe he’d be able to apologize for it later. When he felt better.
But Iida also didn’t notice the tracking seal she'd just pasted to his black bodysuit, which Kei figured made up for that.

helloo!! could you write some protective!ghost headcanons?? please and thank you♥️💋
Protective Simon Riley
Tumblr media
Pairing(s): Simon Riley x GN ! Reader
Warnings: Slight possessiveness, maybe a little violence?
Synopsis: How I believe Ghost would be protective of you, and what that would entail.
Authors Note: Peekaboo! Is me again! Gosh I know two posts back to back? 👀. I try to keep up with asks and stuff as well as answer them as soon as possible! I hope you enjoy these headcanons!!!
I feel like if you were in the 114 He wouldn't like stop you from going on missions? But if you're going on a dangerous one, don't even think about leaving him behind. It could be a one person mission and he's convincing Price to go with you.
He makes sure absolutely nobody can mess with you, one of the ways he does this is by training you. He teaches you self defense, where all the pressure points are, how to get away or knock them out even if you have the disadvantage. He even teaches you how to take a gun from someone so that they don't fire it, and how to disarm someone with a knife.
Out in the general public you're obviously protected. You may be sunshine and rainbows, but he's behind you brooding and giving everyone that looks at you the wrong way a glare. Crossed arms and everything, he looks so hostile.
If you're with someone he's not sure about or he doesn't like the vibe of, he won't let you be with them alone. He just won't even if he doesn't know exactly why he doesn't like them. Yes you guys can hang out, but he will 100% be brooding in the corner? Like god, he almost scares off whoever it is.
If someone hurts you? Like say you come home crying or something? After he comforts you and you slip off into sweet unconciousness, he leaves the house. When he comes back you end up waking up and his knuckles are bruised and bloody, and he's not saying whose blood it is at all. But you have an idea-
I feel like if you're a civilian he is making sure your house has like top notch security. He's installing like extra door locks, window locks, he's tripping the house with one of those security alarm systems, and even going as far as to put up ring doorbell and cameras at every angle of the house so nothing is left out. Both of you have access to it.
He of course teaches you how to handle a gun in the case he isn't there. He makes you read the entire manual twice and then deconstruct and reconstruct the gun twice before you're allowed to actually use it, and then you're off to the range.
I don't feel like he would be overly protective but he would be in the small things. Like walking closest to the road, holding your hand in public so you don't get lost, protecting you from afar, and so on. He's honestly just the sweetest, but if you tell him to back off he will do so begrudgingly.

Failed to think up modern goth fam scenarios, but this one’s for @kacievvbbbb anyway because I do blame them for the concept of post-canon Mihawk’s Home for Displaced Pirates. (Building off of this fic)
Besides King, who else might wind up there? I don’t really know what’s going on with him in canon, but the answer is obvious: Moria! Perona’s already living on Kuraigana part time/most of the time, so eventually she’d drag her original adoptive dad there.
Of course she wouldn’t tell him it’s Mihawk’s island. Just that there’s this great spooky island with plenty of room and huge graveyards and she loves it and she knows he’ll love it, too. Moria doesn’t put it together that it’s Kuraigana until they’re already there. Perona has absolutely done this on purpose. He really should have seen it coming.
Mihawk isn’t thrilled but he doesn’t object. There’s plenty of room, after all (and he knows Perona will be insufferable if he said no). He does enforce pretty strict rules about fighting among the inhabitants. They can leave their past grievances behind if they want to stay here. No one really wants to mess with Mihawk (or Zoro when he's around).
The first few days go fine, but Perona has forgotten a very crucial aspect to the side of the castle Moria is living in: King. Objectively she knows Moria suffered a crushing defeat from Kaido, and that King was certainly by his side, but it’s not like it’s personal, right? There’s no fighting allowed on the castle grounds, except where training and sparring is permitted. Nothing could ever possibly go wrong.
It’s probably dumb luck that King and Moria don’t run into each other at first. Then one morning Moria walks into the study to find Perona and King in the middle of one of their hair braiding sessions, and all hell breaks loose.
Moria is shrieking, King is yelling, Perona is screaming. She’s never seen Moria so motivated to actively harm someone when it breaks out into an actual fight. Her negative hollows won’t work on them.  Moria simply cannot stand the sight of someone like King being anywhere near Perona. That’s his daughter!!!!
Mihawk has to break it up. Mihawk, all 6 foot something of him, getting between King and Moria, both 20 feet tall.
He throws them outside and essentially puts them in time out. Perona is sobbing. Mihawk is seriously reconsidering this entire operation. Neither of them really have anywhere to go, though, so he has to think of consequences to quell this sort of behavior. Exactly what he’s been hoping to avoid.
I figure Mihawk’s brand of punishment is just manual labor, but most of the castle residents already pitch in with gardening and farming… so he probably puts them on kitchen duty together. It’s the one room best equipped to handle King’s flame if he gets pissed, and Moria hates doing any kind of menial work at all.
Forcing them to peel potatoes and carrots and wash grapes (under Perona’s supervision) until they’re united in their anger against Mihawk instead of each other works pretty well, actually. Crisis averted.
(Also wondering if we should throw the Seraphim in there somewhere, too, since again Kuraigana is just a big chill island where they could maybe learn to be people and not live under scrutiny. And let King suffer a mental breakdown over them in privacy. Moria has no idea what to do with a kid murder robot version of himself. Perona treats them like her minions and then eventually like little siblings.)

Hi!! I'm so excited your requests are open! I've had this idea in my head for forever, but unfortunately, my skills do not include writing. It goes like this: Shockwave has a lab tech, shy but typically thorough and diligent. Acceptable by Shockwave's standards. However, lately, the lab tech's work performance has been plummeting due to a persistent overcharge with no good outlet (heat cycles, my weakness). This is Unnacceptable™️ to Shockwave, so he decides to deal with the problem himself. Toxic decepticon work culture, of course. The lab tech's overcharge gets dealt with efficiently and rather roughly. Bonus points for choking!! The dubcon and power dynamics are just so delicious. I've sent you a tip on ko-fi! Kisses and thank you! 💋
Delays are unacceptable when it comes to Shockwave's work. He prides himself on being efficient, logical, the one steadily working cog in Megatron's war machine. Usually, you do not impede his work. You are one of the only Decepticons he will allow in his lab, other than test subjects when he can get them, because you do not slow his pace. Projects are started and completed perfectly within his strictly estimated deadline, weapons shipped out for approval and use by the only mech Shockwave would ever bow to.
But lately your work has been obstructed in a way that makes the lead scientist bristle. You are a fully capable and mature mech, you should know how to handle your own heat. It would be a hinderance to cast you aside as his lab assistant, reliable ones are so hard to come by, but your occupied attention has stretched his latest experiment passed the deadline. It itches at the back of his processor, a slowly building frustration he is usually unused to. He is tempted to dismiss you, but Shockwave is nothing if not resourceful. If you insist on simply bearing through the problem, a foolhardy solution he expects of less rational bots, then he must take matters into his own servos.
It is a few kliks he is willing to spare if it will allow his latest weapon to get through the experimentation phase.
"Lay back on the medical berth," Shockwave doesn't give an explanation, doesn't feel he needs to. You are simply an assistant, he won't spare more time than he needs to walking you through his thought process. You frown at him, a question clearly on your glossa, but you obediently hop up on the medical slab and lay back. Trained to follow orders and ask questions later, as any good assistant to Shockwave should be.
His digits curl around your ankle joints and drag you down the length of the berth, thighs parted around the bulk of him. Your intake gapes, already torn between leaning up and staying down as he had instructed. Further stupefying you, Shockwave retrieves a cable from his medical array, unraveling it from the side of his chassis. He doesn't bother asking for permission, digits finding the manual release over your own medical interface before plugging his cable into one of your data ports. He takes a moment to look passed you, single optic bearing down on information you can't see, clearly immersed in searching through your data. His sight refocuses on you when he's found what he's looking for.
"Remove your interface panel," Your mouth continues to uselessly flap open around words that you want to say. But you are still very aware of the fact he's your senior officer and leagues ahead of you in the Decepticon hierarchy. If there's anyone who can command you to bear your interface without express reason, it's Shockwave. You override your interface panel's release, also aware of just how charged up your array is. Mortification licks up your spinal strut at the slick sound of your valve platelets against the panel as it transforms away.
To further your embarrassment, Shockwave gives a cursory look-over of your valve. His single optic studies you like a new piece of tech, detached and inspective. You will yourself to lay back on the berth instead of tensed up on your elbows, your frame is stiff and awkward and impossible to rest comfortably in. You don't flinch when he transforms his own interface panel away without warning. He owes you no explanation as the lead scientist and he's not going to spare you any bedside manner, even if he had it.
Your valve is already so embarrassingly wet from your heat cycle, and you want to snap at him when he prods at the soft platelets with his claw-like digits. His servos are made for precise scientific work, not exploring the frame of a partner. He nudges your anterior node with the backside of one of his digits, just enough to send a jolt up pleasure up your spinal strut. It's akin to rutting against the edge of a countertop in how sensual it is; good enough only to get the job done, but there is no warmth from his touch. You offline your optics until he's deemed you sufficiently charged up to accept his spike, your fans venting air despite the fact this situation is more painful than arousing. Shockwave doesn't offer any forewarning before he nudges the head of his spike against your valve, startling the first sound from your vocalizer.
His hips snap against the back of your thighplating at once, burying his spike to the hilt. You hadn't expected gentle, but the stretch burns and has a warning popping up on your HUD. Shockwave ignores your frantic complaints, setting a steady, punishing rhythm. Drone-like in all he does, the scientist doesn't even seem fazed by the tight suction of your valve or the way you clench around him with the discomfort and pleasure. His single, dimmed optic bores down on you, watching you with mild interest. Your servos grip tight to either edge of the medical slab, a burning heat building in your core. In spite of his disinterest, in spite of the way he fucks into you like it's merely a task to complete, you brace your pedes upon the end of the berth and open your legs further for him.
You scramble to grab his servo in both your own, pulling and maneuvering his hold around your neck. Just the feel of his powerful digits around such a vulnerable spot has you pleading; "Please, please, please," leaving your vocalizer mindlessly. And for once, you see a spark of intrigue in his gaze. The same sort of curiosity when he's looking at a problem that evades him. He wastes not a klik more, squeezing around your throat tubing and forcing a static-filled moan from your vocalizer. His grip is tight, carelessly forceful, and it sends a hard shudder down your back.
The charge of overload ripples through your EM field before it washes over your frame, your frame arching up into his rough rhythm and cruel grip. Your legs twining around his waist to pull Shockwave in as deep as he can go. He, mercifully, fucks you through it, shallow thrusts working out every last bit of pleasure from you. Your just past the height of your overload when his transfluid spills inside your oversensitive valve, calipers rippling and milking his spike. A gasp leaves your intake, your vents, as he satisfies the infuriating heat of your cycle.
