NEWS :
A NEW PARTNERSHIP BETWEN EARTHSHOT AND BUILDERS VISION HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED ✨️
The Earthshot Prize has announced a strategic partnership with Builders Vision - an impact platform focused on scaling innovative and sustainable solutions across oceans, food, and energy.
Ahead of the Blue Economy Finance Forum in Monaco and the 2025 UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France, this strategic partnership will allow Builders Vision and The Earthshot Prize to work together to accelerate much-needed innovation, elevate global awareness, and increase investment in ocean-focused initiatives.
Just 3% of the world’s oceans are currently fully protected, underscoring the need for more investment and support to address this critical gap by the end of the decade – a focus for both organisations.
Achieving this vision, however, requires addressing a significant challenge of the cumulative $900 billion funding gap between now and 2030 for ocean conservation and regeneration. The partnership aims to bridge that gap by bringing together key leaders, government representatives, partners, and institutions committed to the blue economy.
To bolster and strengthen The Prize’s pipeline of ocean solutions and increase the level of investment, Builders Vision will play a key role in supporting The Prize’s ocean strategy, leveraging its expertise to:
● Support pivotal initiatives, including the development of new ocean funds
● Map the ocean innovation and funding landscape
● Generate actionable insights to guide investors, innovators, policymakers, and funders
● Convene a global audience to foster collaboration and drive solutions
● Highlight the ocean’s critical impact and commercial opportunities through storytelling
Builders Vision brings a deep commitment to impact and sees this partnership as an opportunity to increase visibility, funding, and innovation for marine ecosystems.
At the 2025 Blue Economy Finance Forum, The Earthshot Prize and Builders Vision will convene public and private sector leaders to demonstrate the investment case for the ocean and showcase both innovative investment opportunities and successful innovations that support and grow a sustainable blue economy.
The Prince of Wales will be delivering remarks at the 2025 Blue Economy Finance Forum in the final Heads of States and Government session.
A highlight of the event will be a session featuring ocean partners, investors, and HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, where ten investment-ready ventures redefining ocean-based industries will be presented, offering investors exclusive access to the next wave of innovative Earthshot ocean solutions. Earthshot Finalists Abalobi, Notpla, Coast 4C and Nature Metrics will be taking part.

one piece drabble | zosan | pride kisses 2025 challenge
{PUBLIC KISS}
(scrapped article from the World Economy News, Sunday Edition)
WINGS OF THE PIRATE KING: BITTER RIVALS, CLOSE FRIENDS — OR SOMETHING MORE?
Shockwaves are rippling across the pirate world today following new rumors that Roronoa Zoro, First Mate and Right Hand to the Pirate King Monkey D. Luffy, and “Black Leg” Sanji, Cook for the Straw Hat Pirates and Left Hand of the Pirate King, have entered into a romantic entanglement.
This story was brought to the attention of World Economy News when an anonymous source sent a leaked internal memo from a Marine base in Shells Town, Yotsuba Island Region in the East Blue. The memo contained notes from an unnamed Marine Lieutenant claiming that, during a personal leave on the Conomi Islands (known former home to Straw Hat Pirate Navigator “Cat Burglar” Nami), he saw Roronoa and Black Leg at the same resort where he was staying. The Lieutenant said, quote:
“It appeared as though Roronoa and Black Leg were arguing heatedly, with Black Leg saying that Roronoa should ‘shut the fuck up and let yourself relax for once in your goddamn life’, to which Roronoa angrily replied that he was trying, but Black Leg kept messing it up with his ‘incessant nagging’. The altercation turned physical and I thought that they had come to blows, but upon closer inspection I realized that it was rather more passionate in nature than violent. I believe this information could potentially be vital in future Marine efforts to apprehend the Straw Hat Pirates, which is why I have asked this message to be passed along to [redacted], and only [redacted].”
This is not the first time that rumors have circulated about potential romantic involvements amongst the notorious Straw Hat Pirates, but while most previous cases have quickly died down when no proof could be obtained, the unnamed Lieutenant included in his memo a photo taken via Cameko. The photo is blurry, but appears to show Roronoa and Black Leg embracing in what we here at World Economy News believe to be a kiss.
If true, this is the most shocking romantic news to hit the pirate world since Cross Guild founders and former Warlords of the Sea Dracule Mihawk and Sir Crocodile tied the knot last year in a private ceremony officiated by the now retired New World Emperor “Red Hair” Shanks. But it begs the question: can the so-called “Wings of the Pirate King” really claim total loyalty to their captain if their hearts truly yearn for each other? What potential dangers are they putting their crew in if this continues? And what happens to the infamous Straw Hat Pirates if the entanglement goes south?
We here at World Economy News will be following this story as it develops and promise to keep our readers in the know with all the latest breaking updates.
MEMO TO “BIG NEWS” MORGANS FROM MARINE VICE ADMIRAL HELMEPPO (153rd BRANCH MARINE BASE, SHELLS TOWN, YOTSUBA ISLAND REGION, EAST BLUE)
Look Morgans, I’m not saying you can’t print it. I’m just saying the only reason you survived with your sorry feathered ass intact after reporting on the Dracule Mihawk and Crocodile story last year is because Luffy intervened on your behalf, but if Roronoa and Black Leg decide that they want you dead for this, he’s not gonna lift a goddamn finger to stop them.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Name: Hermia Pronouns: She/Her Age: 19 (pre-timeskip) -> 22 (post-timeskip) Height: 5'7 in. Birthday: 05/12 Ocean of Origin: West Blue Affiliation: Marines, World Economy News Occupation: Marines Photography Department Head, Wanted Poster Photopgrapher
Appearance: Tan skin dotted with faint freckles, a head of curly lime-green hair, blue-ish grey eyes. Always seen with her pair of flight goggles, supposedly left behind by a father she never knew. She sticks to comfy clothes that are easy to manoevre in, but she's a sucker for a good dress-suit.
Personality: Others have commented on her faraway demeanor, as if she always has somewhere else she'd rather be. Her superiors have observed her undeniable skill and potential, but are perturbed by her intolerance for being underestimated, which most often exhibits itself as "assholery" or "general disrespect." While she can be flippant and noncommittal to those outside her circle, she is loyal to a fault when she finds someone she likes. Determined and passionate, she goes through life with the cadence of a bull in a china shop.
Devil Fruit: Holder of the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Seagull, a Zoan Type which gives her the ability to change into the form of a seagull. She came upon the fruit when she was 15 years-old, stealing it from a mercenary visiting the shady tavern she worked at. She saw it, and whatever power it gave her, as an escape from the orphanage she'd lived in her whole life.
Ideals/Morals: Hermia has a strong sense of justice and will do what is necessary to act on it--within the realms of the law, of course. She takes pleasure in others' inability to incriminate her, and how furious they look when they realize it too. That being said, she knows the great importance of waiting for the right time to strike. A corporate baddie to government's #1 opp pipeline.
Love Interest: Sabo (more #herbo info will probably come later <3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HISTORY:
Childhood and Apprenticeship: She was raised in an orphanage in the West Blue. She used to wish to become a pirate one day, but she let it go after the matrons laughed at her. Growing up reading the World Economy Newspaper, she decided that once she escaped her island, she would pursue a job there. Shortly after obtaining her devil fruit, she set off on unsteady wings to fulfill this dream. By her magnanimous luck, she crashed right through the window of Big News Morgans office... while he was giving a budget presentation. Safe to say she made an impression. Morgans took the situation humorously, and after hearing her aspirations, he took her under his metaphorical (and literal) wing. They were "birds of a feather" he liked to say. She would live with him for the rest of her formative years, training to be a reporter until her dream changed.
Hermia and Henry: One day while she was exploring World News Headquarters, as she often did, she discovered the roost of the News Coos in one of the top floors. There, she met one of the keepers for the birds, who was on his way to dispose of what he called a "freeloader." Hermia was horrified to find the keeper was going to euthanize a News Coo bird that had been blinded in one eye while delivering the paper. Hermia, using her somewhat nepo-baby status as the somewhat ward of Morgans, took the bird into her own care. She took to calling the bird Henry, taking him on her travels and helping him learn to fly again. Ever since, the two have been inseparable.
Disillusionment <3: Morgans taught her everything he knew, sharing the world's secrets with her. Hermia didn't like most of what she saw. After she witnessed the trashing of an article about the recent liberation of Cocoyashi Village by pirates, she realized that the world powers didn't care about the truth. They only cared about money and power. Hermia would bide her time, learning all she could on how this corrupt world operated, and at the age of 19 would ask Morgans to get her an apprentice position at the Marines Photography Department (the first step to becoming the government's most annoying employee).
If You Can't Beat 'Em, Take Their Job: Hermia quickly became the worst part of Department Head Attach's job. She was rude and loud in her opinions, most of which were about his lack of skill. Hermia had been interested in photography for some years, and with that came a level of proficiency she thought many of her peers lacked. The pictures they were choosing for new wanted posters lacked personality, and on several occasions she snuck into the drafting room to replace the images with some of her own. A year into her career as an apprentice, her skills were being noticed by higher ups in the department, and not long after Attach was fired for one too many screw ups. Hermia's name was on the lips of many people when it came time for the World Government to choose a new department head. Intrigued by the suggestion of a one year apprentice, they looked into her work, and, impressed, chose her on a probationary period. This did nothing to help her ego, but the Marines Photography Department had never seen better days.
Unorthodox Practices: Part of the reason for Hermia's talent for capturing lively, clear shots was 1) her general love for the art of photography and 2) her practice of simply asking pirates for a photoshoot. Of course, her devil fruit allows her to capture amazing shots from the sky, but there's something special about the interaction. So, a new pirate, should they fit the criteria, will sometimes receive a business card with a set of coordinates and a date from a half-blind seagull demanding a tip. Recipients of this service include: Cat Burglar Nami (2nd poster), Boa Hancock, Nico Robin (2nd poster), Buggy the Clown, and few others (Hermia is very picky about her chosen models).

TRIVIA:
She found Nico Robin's first wanted poster in the department archives and went on a deep dive to discover why a child had such a high bounty. Nothing about it made any sense. And when Nico Robin resurfaces? Her dream is to be the one to capture the woman's next wanted poster--as well as learn the truth.
In her downtime she advocates for improved den den mushi treatment for the snails in Marine HQ.
She is responsible for Luffy's first wanted poster, which later turns into her proudest work as the boy grows into a hero.
Later in her career she becomes an informant for the Revolutionary Army. She gets a little too comfortable with the handsome voice that always answers her den den, and is all to excited to someday meet the handsome face she knows it must belong to.

World Oceans Day
With oceans making up 66% of our Earth, it’s crucial we raise awareness about and tackle the threats facing these life-giving and life-containing bodies of water.
66% of the world is covered in a blanket of rich, vibrant blue, from its depths once came all life on the Earth, and it continues to house an immense amount of life. This blanket is the world’s oceans, and they serve as one of the most popular vacation spots in the world and play a vital role in the economy of countries worldwide. Across the briny deep massive amounts of cargo cross each year, and it still serves as the primary thoroughfare for trade. World Oceans Day celebrates the ocean and the important role it plays in our lives.
It’s a time for supporters of the oceans to focus on conversation and sustainability so that they can remain clean and usable. The animals deserve a happy and safe place to roam and live without having to worry about any destruction or man-made obstacles. It’s important to safeguard the oceans to help ensure a healthy home for all. One this day, people can come together to create a space for all to enjoy and appreciate, no matter where each person lives.
History of World Oceans Day
In 2008, the UN gathered and uniformly created World Oceans Day. It was first proposed in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro during the Earth Summit. The ocean has been an incredibly important part of human history, and this special was established with the intent of celebrating our connection to the sea and raising awareness about the various dangers it faces. There are nearly 200,000 identified species that live in the ocean, but the number of actual species that reside there is likely in the millions. It’s essential to ensure that they don’t have to worry about freely getting around and enjoying a healthy and safe home to reside.
Even with that being the case, there are still problems with overfishing, and the subsidies that are given for fishing in countries all around the world are causing depletion of the game species. These activities have led to efforts to restore the fishing industry being undermined, and the industry bringing in $50 billion a year less. It’s just one of the many factors that should have us all celebrating World Oceans Day and raising awareness about all the issues our big blue’s face.
There’s a global environmental catastrophe due to decades of overuse and a surge in single-use plastics. Plastic straws and bags are getting into the oceans and causing havoc. World Oceans Day is an opportunity to acknowledge and recognize the efforts that have been and are being made against plastic pollution. It’s enlightening and disheartening to know that today, 13,000,000 tons of plastic leaks into the ocean every year, which among other damage, kill 100,000 marine animals annually.
World Oceans Day Timeline
1987 Brundtland Report
This report, connected to The World Commission on Environment and Development (Brundtland Commission) notes that the ocean sector is lacking representation compared to other sectors.
1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro
Created as a way to celebrate the world’s shared ocean and raise awareness for the personal connection between humans and the ocean. This is where the concept for World Oceans Day was first proposed by the Canadian representatives.
2008 UN declares to recognize World Oceans Day
This year, after a four-year onsite and online petition drive, the UN General Assembly passes a Declaration that will officially recognize the day, beginning the following year.
2009 First World Oceans Day is celebrated
The inaugural World Oceans Day is observed with the theme “Our Oceans, Our Responsibilities.”
2016 World Oceans Day Youth Advisory Council is launched
Made up of 25 youth from all over the world, the Youth Advisory Council is created to develop and promote World Oceans Day.
Why celebrate World Oceans Day?
It’s a good reminder to bring attention to the fact that oceans play a major role in everyday life all around the globe. The oceans provide a majority of the oxygen we breathe, so many consider them to be the lungs of our planet. The goal is to develop a worldwide movement of citizens to care better for the oceans. It’s an opportunity to inform and educate humans and the public of what our actions are doing to the ocean and what impact they have in the long run. It’s not only a day to celebrate the beauty, wealth, and promise of the ocean, but a chance to realize that they’re a critical part of the biosphere. They’re a significant source of food and medicines and simply can’t be ignored or mistreated any longer.
How to celebrate World Oceans Day
Start it off by a visit to the nearest ocean to restore a personal connection to the sea. Breathe deep and appreciate the beauty and serenity the ocean offers each day of the week. Invite family along, and while there, bring information about the ocean and what people really need to know about it to make visiting it a joy for years to come.
Pick a day to go to the ocean to clean up and help restore it instead of simply sitting by it. Gather friends and family and pitch in and pick up trash that surrounds the local beaches and oceans in the area. It’ll not only look nicer, but the wildlife in the area will benefit from these actions as well. Avoid single-use plastics, and instead pack a picnic lunch with reusable containers to enjoy after the hard work is complete. One may also consider organizing a fundraiser to aid preservation and restoration efforts at the local beach. With all the plastic waste coming off our beaches thanks to careless beach-goers, our ocean is awash with litter.
Use this as a time to increase one’s knowledge and explore the topic further. There are a variety of books and resources out there to help a person achieve this goal. Another idea is to gather a group of people and watch an ocean film on the topic to bring awareness to the concept of helping out the oceans.
There are plenty of activities and events that occur on World Oceans Day. Celebrate by choosing one or two to participate in and enjoy. Engage in the day’s events by piggybacking off of other ideas that people in the area have come up with instead of having to think of activities alone.

Dean Obeidallah at The Dean's Report:
We are at war. Donald Trump calling out the National Guard to occupy parts of Los Angeles over the objections of California Governor Gavin Newsom to silence protesters is the latest example of this. Trump’s Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth followed up by threatening to deploy the US Marines stationed at nearby Camp Pendelton to join in this war effort. (This is the first time in 60 years that a US President has invoked federal law to federalize national guard troops without a request by the Governor--and that was to protect civil rights protesters in 1965.) While there were protests in Los Angeles in response to Trump’s heavy handed ICE raids—and some pockets of violence—local officials had the resources to control the situation. As Gov. Gavin Newsom stated in response to Trump’s actions, “The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle." (Newsom’s use of term “spectacle” is 100% correct given what Trump wants is to create “fascist spectacles” to intimidate people—as I’ve written about.).
On Sunday morning, Newsom reiterated that point writing, “We have been working closely with law enforcement. There is no unmet need.” He added, Trump “would like nothing more than for this provocative show of force -- and Pete Hegseth's absurd threat to deploy United States Marines on American soil – to escalate tensions and incite violence.” But Trump’s latest escalation in the war against the Blue states and our freedoms can’t be viewed in a vacuum. Trump is waging a multifaceted war upon us. In just the first five months of his term, we’ve seen him arrest a judge, a sitting member of Congress and the Mayor of Newark for daring to defy him. (Charges versus the Mayor were later dropped because they were baseless.) Trump has used the power of the federal government to target critics and those who refuse to bend a knee including law firms, universities, the Democratic online fundraising platform Act Blue, media outlets, foreign college students, former Trump officials who refused to lie, green card holders and more. We never seen a President engage in this type of brazen attack on our freedoms. Again, we are at war. Let me ask you this: During the Civil War, would Union states pay taxes to the Confederate government headed by Jefferson Davis to fund their war against the United States of America? Of course not. But Blue states are currently funding Trump's war against us by paying federal taxes to what is in essence the new Confederate government. That needs to end--assuming there is a legal means that can allow the states and their residents to withhold paying federal taxes and instead use the taxes for state services. In fact, the prospect of withholding federal funds to the Trump regime was raised Friday by Gov. Newsom. That was in response to news reports that Trump was about to end all federal aid to California in an effort to make an example of the state. Newsom posted online: “Californians pay the bills for the federal government. We pay over $80 BILLION more in taxes than we get back.” He added, “Maybe it’s time to cut that off.” [...] We all know that it’s the large Blue States that fund the federal government. Newsom is correct that California—the world’s fourth largest economy if it were a nation--contributed about $83 billion more in federal taxes in 2022 than it received back from Washington. More broadly, a study from 2018 to 2022 found that Blue states contributed nearly 60% of all federal tax receipts—but received back far less as we subsidize the Trump loving Red states.
We need Blue state governors to work with their respective Attorney General’s to determine: 1. Can the state legally withhold taxes to the federal government? 2. Can residents of the state legally avoid paying federal taxes by paying what is due directly to the state? Perhaps the federal taxes can be paid into a state created trust account that the state promises to pay the federal government assuming certain conditions are met to respect the rights of the people of each state? If such a legal framework can be created, then the states should use the tax dollars to help the people of their state first. As a practical matter, people in Red States who rely on government safety net programs like Medicaid etc. will hopefully move to the Blue States where they will get freedom and these benefits. And for those who can’t afford to move, the Blue states could create a fund to help people seeking to escape from Trump’s tyranny to be able to resettle in Blue States. (As an aside, this would also increase Blue State population while decreasing that of Red states—which would help us gain more congressional seats at the end of this decade after the census is conducted.) Trump’s actions are neither unique nor original. He is following the aspiring dictator playbook. That is why I and many warned Trump’s war on freedom of expression doesn’t end with his arresting of green card holders who express views that the regime doesn’t approve of—that is where it begins. In fact, when Trump had green card holder Mahmoud Khalil arrested in March for peacefully protesting U.S. policy in Gaza, my article’s title warned what this meant, “Trump’s arrest of a pro-Palestinian student moves the U.S. one step closer to Tyranny.”
Dean Obeidallah is correct. Blue States should stand up for themselves and withhold federal taxes to protest Tyrant 47’s war on constitution-based rule.

G'joob art in this economy?!? HELL YES!
I've seen so much people doing variants of the monsters in the different islands and that gave me the thought of how G'joobs would look like in different habitats.
For starters I think G'joobs are semi aquatic, or at least have the water as an important element of their day to day (Mainly cause theyre based around pinnipeds and because of the sea of G'green and its link with epic G'joob) So I split them into sea and river ones.
Tumblr media
Sea/Saltwater G'joobs are generally not so different to your regular in-game G'joob. Cool toned, with a more blue coloration and with their horns, tusks and spikes being a dark brown. I changed their spots to rings based around ringed seals (I feel they could offer a lot camouflage under the water!) And I made their tusks pointing inward. They spend their days in the depths of the Living Ocean, occasionally stepping out of it to the coasts of Plant Island, where they rest or catch the sun (or both!). Theyre chubbier cause big part of their bodies is blubber, to protect them from the colds of the ocean. Their flappers allow them to be excellent swimmers. Tho their movement on land is a bit... limited. They move with little jumps (like seals!) And along the fact that theyre lazy creatures, is it hard to see them awake in Plant Island (truly a mythical event!) But G'joobs never shy away at the chance to partake in a song in their beautiful home land!
River/Freshwater G'joobs are a little bit different (creative liberties!) I like to think at some point looong ago some G'joobs ventured deeper in Plant Island, couldn't find their way home and eventually found out the rivers deep in the island forests, who they called their new home. The blubber of their bodies slowly made itself more absent, as they didnt have to face any colds. The warm river and its algae started to make their hair greener, and the sun made their horns tusks and spikes lighter. And so here they are! (Mostly based around Sea Lions and strangely... otters?) Theyre very curious and a little more adventurous on land than their Saltwater cousins, so they developed better flippers who allow them to walk on land! Also, their tail and horns are bigger than those of Saltwater G'joobs, an advance which they use as tools for building small driftwood and stone houses for their family of G'joobs along the river. Still, theyre a very rare sight. So if you ever get lost in the forest and see these guys, ITS TRULY A MYTHICAL EVENT! But as always, G'joobs do not shy away! (...although they do always remain lovingly lazy!)
Heres a little more stuff I had planned! (...but mainly brainstorming) if youre interested youre more than welcome to read!
Tumblr media
Going along the whole thing of Gjoobs based on pinnipeds, I liked the concept of male G'joobs being sorta like male Walruses. Big big BIIIIG ol' tusks, a bigger than usual mustache (and puffy eyebrows!) Didn't had much in mind for female G'joobs but I feel it would be cool that they have a lot more patters than a usual G'joob (and perhaps... more intricate ones👀) yet still I dont have much of a justification on why.
I've also thought the older the G'joob, the lower the musical range they can archive. Older G'joobs sounding similar to a subcontrabassoon and baby G'joobs sounding like tenoroons (sorry lemme brainstorm, soon to be instrumentist here and thanks to G'joob I discovered the existence of those two Basoon variants!)
If yall know my MSM Interpretations/OCs you should probably know about Muirchertach, The Marine Merchant G'joob. Well, for example, I had a thought his mastery of music and old age let him reach very low notes (I dont think as a subcontrabasoon yet, but surely a contrabasoon!) I feel he uses low entonations to tell the ports if his boat is aproaching (basically, he's his own boat horn!)
Thats it for today! Hope yall enjoy!

Nami what did you DO to the East Blue's economy???
I know in One Piece money is fake and basically a measure of power levels/a pirate's relationship to the World Government, but I couldn't sleep last night and I crunched a bunch of numbers.
Alveda is the first bounty we see at 5 mill. She is the First Big Villain, she has her own themed boat. She has a giant club larger than the average man. It is a life threatening task for someone to go after her.
Therefore, 5 mill is a Serious Amount Of Money. A Life-changing Amount Of Money. Or, LAM for short.
Maybe a LAM is enough to run a place like Syrup Village's entire shipyard for one whole year, or maybe five, but I'm quite sure there are so many places in East Blue that don't even have 5 mill in liquid assets.
The East Blue is considered real tame, and real weak. Considering the places in East Blue that seem to have Money are: Kaya's family (and business), The Baratie, and SOME Marine bases, I think it's fair to say that their economy is nowhere near as extravagant as some places seen even early in the Grand Line.
Back on the East Blue, the pirate with the highest bounty is Arlong, sitting at 20 mill. Reckoned four times as dangerous as Alveda. Ready to get back to the Grand Line to continue to Fuck Shit Up.
And he says to Nami he will sell her her village back for 100 mill. That's five times HIS bounty, 20 times Alveda's.
Nami is a child.
By the time the plot hits her, Nami raised 93 million. 93 out of 100. Over 4.5 times Arlong's bounty.
Where did she get ALL THAT MONEY? And she didn't just recirculated it, no, she squirreled it away in that hole in her backyard.
For like 8 years, taking increasingly large sums as she got better at thievery. Draining pirate and noble alike of their coffers.
She must have been like a reverse Mansa Mansa.
Maybe when Zeff started the Baratie he WASN'T the fanciest restaurant in the East Blue. Maybe Nami just stole the rest of the place utterly broke

Revitalizing the ocean economy with transformative sustainability innovation in urban planning and architectural design
Image: © Haptic Architects, Oslo Works, and BOGL
A waterside scheme spanning 45,000 sqm with features including Fjordarium—an aquarium with underwater galleries capturing the fjord’s marine life and anticipating its future. The facility is part of a wider knowledge hub of workspaces for marine industry and ocean tech businesses. Haptic Architects and Oslo Works reimagine a disused parking lot as a global centre for sustainable oceanic practices.
Tumblr media
Fjordarium featuring underwater galleries that peek into the marine life of the fjord
The Fjord area is designed as the educational centre of the scheme and will house the Fjordarium. This building will provide an immersive visitor experience by offering a window directly into the fjord. The Fjordarium will encompass various facilities such as a restaurant, bar, gallery, event space, research laboratories, workspaces, and teaching rooms above and below the water level.
Tumblr media
In collaboration with the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), the design of the Fjordarium building has been created to safeguard marine biodiversity. The building, as per the design statement, will be engineered to withstand the fjord's waves and currents while maximising natural light penetration into the underwater areas. It will address the challenges and provide solutions for cleaning the heavily polluted fjord caused by agricultural waste. In partnership with We Are Human, the architects have conceived the Fjordarium as a destination that will seamlessly blend physical and virtual experiences. It will serve as a global learning platform, exploring the drivers of the new blue economy while promoting a shift towards environmental sustainability and a regenerative approach to oceans.

Galantis ⋆。𖦹 °.🐚⋆❀˖°
A Fan-Made Pirate101 World 🐌💧💻
Tumblr media
This post will cover the basics and main inspirations of my fanmade Pirate101 World, Galantis! I hope you all enjoy~
𓂃𓂃𓂃𓊝 ࿐𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓂃𓊝 ࿐𓂃𓂃𓂃
Overview 🌊⋆。°்⋆
Galantis is a closed-off world in the Spiral, locked by the current Emperor; and guarded by his army. If a person is able to reach Galantis, they will discover a technologically advanced, oceanic paradise; hidden away from the rest of the world. The Stormgate to Galantis is located in MooShu, but is inaccessible to any travelers.
The initial reason for Galantis's closed borders was due to the Polarian War. The Emperor did not wish to get involved in the conflict, and feared involvement due to the relative closeness between Galantis and its neighboring world of MooShu. So, the borders were closed, and the Emperor ignored the outside world; instead focusing on the personal development of his nation through machinery and economy.
.•⋅˚₊The People ଳ ‧₊˚
Since many Pirate101 worlds, and to a further extent, Wizard101 worlds, have many diverse species of people; and Galantis is no exception. The people of Galantis are from the class Gastropoda; aka, slugs and snail-adjacent animals. They are specifically based on the marine variants of these animals, sea slugs and sea snails.
The current ruling Emperor of Galantis, Emperor Gyeong Glaucus, is a type of Glaucus Altanticus (See image below).
Tumblr media
Sea slugs and sea snails are very diverse animals from species to species, and this is reflective of the population of Galantis.
𓂂 ·˚ •Culture 🌊🪸
Galantis is inspired by East Asian culture, specifically South Korea and North Korea. Another main inspiration for Galantis is the legend of Atlantis, a city from Greek mythos written by Plato.
One major invention from Galantis is a form of energy source known as "Bio-Lumi Fuel". Bio-Lumi Fuel is harvested from the organic plant-life from the World, and is what powers a majority of Galantis's technology. Due to the power of Bio-Lumi Fuel, the Galantians have been able to invent their own forms of machines, robots, and screens.
Therefore, culture and trends are very mainstream. Many different styles of fashion have rose to popularity through the influences of music idols in the music industry.
Sea Angelic 🐌🪽
A fashion style known as "Sea Angelic" was popularized by the musical idol "Sea Angel" or Cheonsa Clione. This fashion style is more traditional, and takes inspiration from traditional Korean clothing and acessories. Such as the usage of the hanbok and norigae.
Cyber Screen 🐌💻
One of the most mainstream styles of fashion in Galantis: popularized by the most well-known musical idols, Nembrotha and BLUE SCREEN. This style is more akin to the styles of Cyber Punk, mixed with modernized fashion. The main elements of this style is the usage of the color blue, and the heavy reliance on Galantian technology.
These are only a few of the most popular fashion styles in this World.
˖°🌊⋆Landscape🐚🫧
Galantis has two main Skyways, Palansaeg Skyway and Nudibranch Skyway. It only has one Stormgate, located in Palansaeg Skyway; leading to MooShu. The land is a purplish-blue tint, and the skies are a deep purple tone. The player is able to see jellyfish-like animals floating around the Skyways.
Palansaeg Skyway (Korean: 파란색 스카이웨이)
The main Skyway of Galantis, containing the capital city, Soul City. Soul City is very urbanized, utilizing Bio-Lumi technology. The music industry flourishes in Soul City, allowing for the world as a whole to improve its economy.
Fun Fact: "Palansaeg" is the Korean for the phrase "Blue". So, Palansaeg Skyway roughly translates to: "Blue Skyway".
Nudibranch Skyway
The secondary Skyway of Galantis, mostly inhabited by farmers, religious figures, and those who wish to escape the bustling Palansaeg Skyway. The main industry in Nudibranch Skyway is food production, mainly algae, cnidarians, corals, and sponges.
Fun Fact: "Nudibranch" is a scientific term referring to sea slugs. It means "naked gills" in Greek.
⋆˚࿔How Outsiders View Galantis᭡.
Galantis, due to its closed borders, has remained in obscurity in the minds of the average people of the Spiral. There are some Galantian refugees found in MooShu, but not anywhere else.
The Armada, however, has heard rumors of Galantis's advanced technology; and wants to find a way to access the World to help set up an alliance between the Armada and Galantis.

Tumblr media
SMARTLESS’ UNITES PRESIDENTS BIDEN, OBAMA, AND CLINTON FOR HISTORIC PODCAST INTERVIEW
While one former president is in court defending himself against hush money payments to a porn star and to a Playboy playmate, three other Ex-POTUS's discuss gun violence, foreign relations, Biden’s re-election campaign, what they miss about being in office, the State of the economy, passing the baton Between Presidencies, and more on the Smartless podcast.
SmartLess hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes have brought together three U.S. Presidents, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton, for a historic podcast interview.
The momentous episode is available early on Amazon Music/Wondery+ here. It will be wherever podcasts are available on Monday, April 29.
The podcast interview was recorded in-person recently with the hosts and the Presidents in New York City.
SmartLess with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett is a podcast that connects and unites people from all walks of life to learn about shared experiences through thoughtful dialogue and organic hilarity.
The award-winning podcast was launched in July 2020 and is consistently among the top five most listened-to podcasts monthly. Guests have included Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Don Cheadle, Larry David, Greta Gerwig, Idris Elba, Kristen Stewart, Pedro Pascal, Selena Gomez, and many more.
INTERVIEWS CLIPS AVAILABLE HERE:
Sean Hayes: Do you all miss something specific about holding office, obviously except for you because you’re in office, but do you guys miss something?
President Biden: I miss not having an office.
President Obama: Well, look, everybody talks about Air Force One.
Sean Hayes: Yeah, sure.
President Obama: Marine One. It’s pretty convenient, I won't lie. But I’ll tell you the thing I miss the most. Remember those music concerts I used to do at, you can basically invite anybody, and you have this concert and I mean we got you know Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney.
Sean Hayes: Everybody will show up.
President Obama: They’ll show up. And they do these rehearsals the night before a lot of times and you can kinda sneak down and could just sit there and watch Mick Jagger practicing with BB King or something on a blues night. I do miss that.
President Clinton: I miss the fact that they don’t play a song when you walk in a room anymore.
Sean Hayes: We should’ve done that today.
President Clinton: I was lost for three weeks when I left office. But let me tell you something serious, this is one reason that I so badly want President Biden to be re-elected. What I really miss is the job. Not doing it, I'm glad, I believe in the two-term limit strongly, but what I learned was on the worst day, when nothing was going right, problems are everywhere, there was still something you could do that would make somebody's life better. There is no job like that on earth.
Sean Hayes: I love that.
Clinton: And I want somebody..
President Obama: Who appreciates it.
President Clinton: …that I trust to make the most of that every day. Cause they’ll be bad days no matter who gets elected. But he’ll get up and he’ll start thinking about that. And I think his opponent will be thinking about…
President Obama: Himself.
President Clinton: …yeah, who I can get even with, who I can send away. Joe Biden will make the best of the bad days.
Jason Bateman: And the team that you have assembled and your comfort with deferment. For me personally, I love leaders that have the confidence to hire those that they respect, that might make them a little nervous.
Will Arnett: And also not to think that you're the…
President Obama: That you’re the smartest guy…
Will Arnett: Yeah, that you’re gonna have every…. We had leaders like that in the middle part of the last century who were put into government by presidents of old, and they made a lot of decisions that they thought they were right about, and they were terrible people. And when that happens, when you think that you’ve got all the answers, is the moment you don’t.
Jason Bateman: Like Ron Klain, bringing us out of COVID. It’s just on and on and on, the way in which you’ve surrounded yourself with the absolute best this country has to offer.
President Biden: I made a commitment, having an administration that looks like America. I have more women in my cabinet, I’ve appointed more Black Circuit Court judges than every other president combined in American history. I’ve kept my commitment about putting a Black woman on the Supreme Court. I’ve had an opportunity to go out and get the best people - and by the way, I sometimes pick up the phone and ask these guys who they think are the best people. And I’m looking for people that most of all, not just are good, but care about what they’re doing.
Jason Bateman: Whereas the other guy is only hiring people that won’t talk back and that’s…
President Biden: Oh mine talk back.
CLIP 2 - Download Here
Sean Hayes: What are the issues coming up that people are focusing on that you believe are the wrong things, or they may be the right things, and what should they be focusing on?
President Biden: I think they should be focusing on a couple of things. Number one, we’re gonna, in the second term, God willing, we’re gonna make sure that we do something about gun violence in this country.
Will Arnett: Yes.
President Biden: The idea that we allow assault weapons to be sold, and magazines with 100 rounds, is just bizarre.
Will Arnett: Well, President Biden, I’m so glad to hear you say that because that was gonna be my other question. Which is, the Democrats never say we want to take your guns away.
President Biden: Absolutely not.
Will Arnett: You never said that, you said we gotta be smart about what’s going on.
Jason Bateman: You don’t need to kill a deer with an AR15.
Sean Hayes: Right.
President Biden: The Second Amendment, when I taught law school, the Second Amendment wasn’t absolute ever. You weren’t able to have a cannon when you were, you know, the liberty is ordered with the blood of patriots. I mean, it’s a bunch of crap.
This episode of Smartless will be available wherever you get your podcasts on Monday, April 29.
