#Moana for ML

Please help, I feel like I’m onto something but I don’t know if I’m reaching.

Like Brain and Maui parallels right? They exist right? I’m not going crazy? Is it too early to tell? Is this a prediction? Am I delusional? I don’t know but I’m gonna throw this into the internet and see what happens.

So Moana should be in ML (a list of things I thought of while watching my friend in a local production of Moana that I have been spinning in my head ever since like broken record)

Both Brain and Maui try and fail to give the gift of life to their people then lose everything. Their downfall is their naïveté.

With Brain the whole gift of life thing more literal than Maui, of course. While Brain is actively trying to save the Dandelions from an imminent threat, Maui steals the heart to give as a gift.

Both are abandoned by authority and given a second chance at life by a god of sorts

Maui gets thrown into the ocean by his mother then is given power to save him and Brain gets dumped into a position of power and then is saved from death by Luxu (somehow…. presumably)

Both are broken by their failure. They lost their weapons, they lost their homes, they lost their power. They’re stranded on an island with no friends, there’s nowhere for them to go.

And just think of the possibility of Player and Moana parallels.

Like they could both show up and help pull these ancient weirdos out of their funks, and those ancient weirdos could help teach them techniques lost to time.

Anyways this might be nothing, but I needed it out of my head lol

I know I’m a 100% ml blog but I really wanted to reblog this cause I am a very proud Māori woman! This movie meant a lot to me and to New Zealand as a whole ❤️ to have my culture represented felt amazing as Māori people have been treated (and still are) treated awfully by New Zealand society. Te Reo isn’t spoken much here but thankfully our current government is trying to change that!

Hello Hello! Happy Monday friends! It is officially the start of the Summer Soltice! ☀️ ▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎ 💭 Question: Do you have a favorite stand-alone book? I think for me, Kiera Cass's "The Siren" is definitely on my #maiarecommends list! 🧜‍♀️ This book is just a quick read, you can practically finish it one sitting! I admit there were times that I was getting bored of it or was tempted to drop it ... but the ml, Ankinli really hooked me. 😩 He was complete sunshine and happiness all bottled up in one person. 💕 ▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎ The most interesting part for me is the concept of Ocean being its identity (think Moana 🌊, but with a hint of Romeo and Juliet) plus how Cass was able to flesh out and incorporate the siren mythology rather making it seem as a backdrop. ❗️Fair warning though that this book is a serious case of insta-love! If you are not a fan of that, it's okay. Cass has another series called "The Selection Series" and a new book that just came out called "The Betrothed" that you might want to check out! 🌟 ▪︎ ▪︎ ▪︎ Over all, Kiera Cass didn't disappoint me. She created a world so beautiful, yet so sad at the same time. She created characters that are relatable in their own way.
