Making money on X (formerly known at twitter) through their Monetisation programme (an experiment)
Not many people are aware of this, but 𝕏 (formerly twitter) pays you a decent share of ad revenue, if your impressions (total views on all posts) exceeds 5 million in 3 months.
As an experiment, for 3 months, I moved all my social media activity to 𝕏. I used an account I've had for several years, but never really used. Mostly because I prefer Reddit, personally. But I wanted to try it.
So, instead of posting as I usually would on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram etc. I just moved all my internet activity to 𝕏.
The result was I exceeded 5mil impressions within 1.5months.
My account is @YourElfx, you can see I don't have a huge following yet, and mostly just posted as I usually would on other social media platforms. Connect with me there to find out more.
Final thoughts: Overall, I would not recommend doing this if you are not frequently active on social media. But if you are, I would advise considering it.

Odd Private Message
It's been a while since anyone PMd me on FanFiction. So, when the email notification came through, just under a month late, I will admit that it filled me with dread.
Mostly because I'm shy and never know how to respond to people, but also for good reason:
DN WhatIf, who I'm aware has contacted authors on AO3 before, is apparently now approaching people through other sites where Project Copy-Knight can't automatically reach them. (Yet.)
Of course, I turned them down.
I know that monetization is an ongoing dispute within fandom, but that's a discussion for another time. I personally do not make any money from my fic writing. To do so can jeopardize the platform I host my writing on, and what AO3 stands for.
That said, if I don't gain monetarily from writing that already treads the line with IPs and Copyright Law, why would I consent to someone else's profit from my work?
If DN WhatIf wanted to support creators and user accessibility like they claim, they would 1) not monetize their uploads, and 2) post transformative content to AO3 which is acknowledged and consented to by the author in the form of Pod Fics or linked works, for all to access freely.
If you yourself are contacted by DN WhatIf, as the image above shows you do have the opportunity to opt out and block them. They are, at least, now asking for creator's consent before they profit from works.
I'm just disappointed, I guess, that people think it is okay to do this, and I want to make other creators aware if they too need to dust off their FanFiction account to check their PMs.

"Why bother with Fedi if there's no built-in monetization?"
Have you considered that maybe this "monetize everything" mindset has been making large parts of the internet and society worse?

What to Write, What to Write
New blog post: What to Write, What to Write.
The primary motivation for making these blog entries is to keep me producing at least one piece of writing per week. Most of the time, I have something to say, but there are others where the tank is empty. At the moment, I have several writing topics I can draw upon, but none are enough for a strong or cohesive entry. These include: Creating a new character and backstory in Dungeons & Dragons…

::smacking computer:: Stop showing me nsfw ads! I know there’s desperate [SLURS] in my area!
I HAVE A MIRROR! -- Anon Guest
Techie Darins opened the latest alert from Systems Advertising Systems (inc), specifically a complaint from the Social Video subsidiary.
Dear content creator, the forwarded automail said, Your uploaded video has been demonetised owing to issues with your script text file. Our automatic systems have detected problematic phraseology. While this remains an issue, you will not be receiving financial income from your video, "Herbal Consciousness Aid". Please remove, review, and re-upload this content for maximum efficacy immediately.
Of course, Systems Advertising Systems had to upload their advertising to the Social Video site just to have them run on other people's content. The automatic filters should not be running on the internal advertising channel.

i’m thinking about fortnite (off to a bad start), it’s funny to think that the devs of that game tried (and frankly, STILL try) to convince genpop that there’s some semblance of a storyline/cannon to the game when in reality, that flew out the window when they forgot about what fortnite was SUPPOSED to be (a 4 player Co-op zombie defence game) and decided to switch to the battle royale gameplay model because it was more profitable. i’m studying to become a 3D games artist and i’ve seen the extensive concept art that went into establishing the fortnite visual language / artstyle and it’s sad that they’ve broken the fundamentals of their own creative direction on numerous occasions (and continue to do so, I.E. the peter griffin mess, the anime skins, that borderlands thing they did a while back, LEGO fortnite) all for the sake of monetisation. it’s so stupid to say- but this shit makes me believe more and more that games as an art form is dead, artwork is simply not profitable, but spongebob in my moody survival horror game??? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY !!
