YES. I CAN AND HAVE WRITTEN MINI ESSAYS ABOUT WHY I LOVE THIS MAN BUT MEET MR. MXYZPTLK, MY SECOND FAVORITE CHARACTER:

He’s been a side player in Superman (and crossover) comics since the 40s! I have literally read every single appearance of his spanning back to that point LOL. He is the definition of a classic trickster (my favorite archetype) and wildly powerful, but chooses to use his abilities to cause cartoonish chaos and mess with people more often than real destruction! He describes himself as an entertainer who needs an audience, and since he can’t find it in his own 5th dimension he comes to the 3rd to cause mischief.

There’s a lot to him and his history but I don’t have the time to go into it all, just want to quickly answer the question. :] I have a small plush and a figurine of him!

What kills me every time is that Bruce can be in such a foul mood that he's legit terrifying interdimensional magical beings into just about shitting their pants in fear, meanwhile Dick Grayson is MAKING JOKES WHILE BATMAN IS STILL IN THE ROOM, that guy has ZERO fear of Bruce's anger and will straight up say the most unserious things with him like THREE FEET AWAY and Bruce never does jack shit about it. Meanwhile, he's legitimately terrifying! Just not to the original gremlin child over there. Perfect dynamic, 100/10, zero notes, they're the funniest, your honor.

My headcanon is that Mxy is watching all of it happen like a soap opera.

Batman the Animated Series got 109 episodes, give or take. It wasn't a very good show (i'd say it was 50/50 in quality), but it got 109 episodes. Superman the Animated Series only got 54. And since there's two or three of them I don't like and won't watch, it really only got around 50 episodes. Which is unfair. It's so unfair that I want to see a reboot of the show get made. I want to see another 58 to 59 episodes created, specifically to fill the void left behind by this marvelous show. Because it's only fair that both characters get an equal number of episodes. If Batman got 109, Superman deserves at least 80 or 90. If not a full 109 episodes to his own name.

I don't care if the show has the same voice cast. I don't care if it's even canonically set in the same universe. We can pretend this is the DCAU after a crisis like event, if we want to/have to. But we just need to revisit the characters and make another big batch of episodes. Some people might say this would be hard to do. I say it's not. It isn't that hard, since the show never ran for long enough to even adapt all of Superman's villains. And if we're toying with this being a slightly different world after a crisis, we can even subtly alter the characters. So i think i've accounted for everything. Now here's some episode concepts.

A follow-up story on Lobo and Maxima. Maxima ended her one episode with Lobo crashing into her palace, and she seemed to fall in love with him. So let's revisit that. Maxima abandoned her planet to become Lobo's bounty hunting partner. It was a whirlwind romance, and it's coming apart at the seams. On the hunt for a bounty, they wind up in our solar system. And after awakening a dormant space beast, they end up needing superman's aid getting out of their mess.

A story involving Mister Mxyzptlk becoming the target of Brainiac. Brainiac tries to trick mxy into letting him into the fifth dimension, and he succeeds. But the fifth dimension is too surreal and bizarre for an AI program like Brainiac. He still persists in trying to conquer it, though. So Superman has to be summoned by Mxyzptlk to save the fifth dimension from Brainiac. In the end, Superman does stop him, but it's too late to save brainiac. His circuits absorb too much data at an advanced level, and his systems all crash. Brainiac has to revert to a more primitive form to survive the trip back to the third dimension. That form ends up resembling his early 80s form in the pre crisis comics.

Livewire and Volcana team up and cause havok throughout Metropolis. They kidnap Lex Luthor and try to extort him for money, so Superman and Mercy Graves both end up on their trail. In the end, Lex and Mercy end up being the ones to defeat Livewire and Volcana. Villains triumphing over the other villains, with Superman merely left to take Livewire and Volcana to prison.

Metallo and Parasite somehow get in an accident, and they swap abilities. Metallo becomes able to feel again (by stealing the sensations of other people). Meanwhile, Rudy has lost the ability to feel anything, and it makes him miserable (after years stuck in his parasite form). Superman needs to stop things before they get out of hand, and he teams up with Parasite to do it. Clark and Rudy have some unexpected bonding while they try to stop Metallo from draining the energy from everyone in Metropolis.

So there you go. Four ideas, thought of over the course of an hour or two. This should show that there's still so much potential left with Superman the Animated Series, and that a revival with the same characters could be amazing. Even if the show has different voice actors and only the same canon as the past show, I think I could live with that. And personally? I kind of want to see that mxyzptlk and Brainiac story become reality now. I think that one has the most potential.
