Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time

As if gaming for 2020 couldn’t get any better, Activision announces a brand-new Crash Bandicoot game, and I must say, it’s about time! (Obligatory uncle pun). I’ve been a Crash Bandicoot fan since the PSx days, beat all the original games, and even got to meet Crash once. I remember receiving Cortex Strikes Back  for my birthday and playing from sunrise to sunset with my sister on our bootleg PSX Sam’s Club controllers.

First things first, Rest In Peace Mel Winkler, Aku Aku’s original voice actor.

Crash Bandicoot is back and looking better than ever. The years the series has remained dormant aside from the trilogy remake released in 2018 have served well. Coco, N.Gin, N. Cortex, and ya boy Crash have been graphically upgraded.  

Crash returns with all-new moves and powerups traveling across dimensions. The trailer shows our favorite marsupial wall running, jumping on jet-powered waterboards (below), running on the ceiling, grinding down rails, suiting up in power armor, and spin attacking enemies.

Crash 4 has new and old enemies as you have never seen them before. Crash is up against N.Cortex and new foes such as the one seen chasing the marsupial (below). The glow up is real with this one.  

The locations look as varied as ever with returning favorites like busy futuristic cities, damp prehistoric swamps, lush jungles, Asian hijinx, and crazy power plants.

This guy looks like a friendly Jason (below), ready to slash Crash’s pelt.

A series favorite, N.Gin (below), returns and looks more maniacal than ever.

Armored up Crashing bursting onto the scene assisted by what looks like Crash wearing a new Mask.

Errybody is playable….jk but we do see N. Cortex, Coco and Crash gameplay which is sure to spice things up nicely.

Coco’s gameplay looks similar to what we can expect from the crash remake where she isn’t constrained solely to vehicle gameplay, entering the fray with her trusty laptop in hand.  

Crash 4: It’s About Time released on October 2nd  ,2020, and is sure to scratch that platforming itch.

Name: Nadiya Cortex Age: 38 Skin Colour: Blue (natural skin colour) Height: 5.5 Weight: 141 pounds Ability: - Building machines (like the Cortex Vortex and new Evolvo Ray) - Weapons of mass destruction - Robots (Powered by silver Gems) Weapons: - Robot minmes - The Omega: Robot machine with 4 rocket launchers and 2 large Power Crystals that shot lasers. It is powered by a silver Gem. - Guns: Similer to Cortex Laser Gun. Family: - Husband: Neo Cortex - Daughter: Nina Cortex Personality: Nadiya is kind and caring but can be aggressive when something goes wrong. She is caring toward Cortex, Nina and Tiny. She not interested in world takeover but does everything for Cortex to make him feel important and happy, due to him not being taken seriously and laught at in the past. likes: - Making machines - Giving love and care for Cortex - Animals (Felines) - Working hard Dislikes - Crash and other bandicoots - N.brio - Things that go wrong - Cortex getting hurt Story Nadiya is the daughter of the wealthiest, villainous family of scientist. She graduated from Madame Amberly Academy of Evil along with N.brio, N.gin and future husband N.Cortex. Nadiya worked at the World Destruction Corporation for 3 years until she went to work with Cortex to fulfill his dream of world takeover, that the idea was ridiculed in a meeting that she was in. Nadiya contact as many people and the money she owns to help make his idea work. They move to N.santiy Island to build the lab to work on the project. After 3 years later the Evolvo-Ray was nearly complete. N.Brio was fixing a little bit on the Evolvo-Ray because of some failed experiments, until Cortex stop him and put Crash straight in the Evolvo-Ray due to him being stubborn, resulting Crash to escape the lab. Cortex uses Tawan and Coco to get Crash to come back. Meanwhile Nadiya is making metal hand weapons for Crash, while Tiny babysit Nina (Nina was born during the lab being built.) When Nadiya went out for a bit, Tiny got distracted letting Nina playing with the metal hands, causing the metal hands to automatically attach to her hands. When Nadiya find out, her and Tiny tried to remove them. Unfortunately they are unremovable and Nadiya becomes furies with Tiny, sending him out the room with disappointment to himself. When Crash returned to rescue Tawan and Coco, N.brio set the lab on fire due to the hate toward Cortex for taking credit of the Evolvo-Ray and the experiments failing. N.brio also convince Tiny to come with him to be treated better. After the lab was burnt down, Nadiya and Nina went to find Cortex. They manage to find him in a cave with a Crystal that dictated power energy. Nadiya contact N.Gin for help on the Power Crystal. He agreed and they used his space station for a place to work on the Crystal. Year Later, Nadiya built a machine called the Cortex Vortex for Cortex to take over the world, using the Power Crystal for the power source. N.Gin tells Cortex that they need 25 Crystals to power the machine. So Cortex tricks Crash into thinking that he change a new leaf and wants to make the world safe. However N.brio find out about Cortex plans and convince Crash into collecting Gems to destroy the space station, if crash continues to gather Crystals N.Brio recruits some of the experiments to stop him. Crash gathered all the Gems and gave them to N.Brio to activate the laser and destroyed the space station. The space station split into three pieces sending the three scientists in three small islands. Nadiya landed in an old small abandon laboratory. Nadiya try to contact Cortex, Cortex tell her to make a new successful Evolvo-Ray while he deals working with Uka Uka. Nadiya Cortex (c) Me

How I feel about this character: Pretty much a part of my childhood- not the biggest, since the one game I played the most was CTR, but it still introduced me to most of my favourite characters! It’s a pretty solid platformer, and the remakes are a delight~

All the people I ship romantically with this character: I’d say Tawna, to remain close to the canon-

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Crash and Crunch are the best bros tbh. I love how Crunch was welcomed into the Bandicoot family despite of what had happened in the 4th game. That’s Bandicoot love!

My unpopular opinion about this character: While a lot were happy with Crash’s presence in the Skylander franchise... I didn’t like his design at all... That kinda ruined the excitement for me. ‘x) Fortunately, the remasters were announced later!

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: OK, a new crash game/ Crash Bash remaster would be awesome, granted, but... What about this one canceled N.Cortex game? I would looove the team to pick it back, then work on it to release it as a new game? It really sounded fun from what I could read...

PLAYLIST HISTORIA DO CRASH

Mais sobre Crash Mind Over Mutant

História A história é contada através de diferentes animações, feitas em diferentes estilos: Anime, South Park, histórias em quadrinhos, fantoches, etc.

Neo Cortex, com o auxílio de seu antigo parceiro Nitrus Brio, cria um assistente digital chamado “NV” (que em inglês se parece com a palavra “envy”, inveja em português), capaz de controlar as mentes de todos. Crash, o único habitante de Wumpa Island que não foi afetado pelo NV, deve salvar Coco e Crunch e impedir que Cortex continue com seus planos de controlar o mundo com o NV.

O jogo mostra em seu vídeo inicial Nina e Cortex fugindo do dominador que caiu em Wumpa Island. Logo após a fuga Cortex literalmente chuta Nina na escola do mal; na continuidade do filme é possível ver Cortex e Nitros Brio (de volta à ativa) testando o NV em um inofensivo coelho que se transforma em um monstro que comicamente esmaga Nitros Brio. Em outra parte do vídeo N. Cortex aparece construindo milhares de NVs.

O jogo realmente começa após o segundo filme que mostra Coco pedindo a Crash para lhe trazer espécies de ferramentas que estão espalhadas pela ilha, neste mesmo vídeo vemos Coco realmente em chamas.

Há titãs jogáveis e não jogáveis, Cortex é jogável e o tempo de jogo é infinito

Curiosidades Os últimos vídeos são uma paródia ao Dragon Ball Z Em uma parte do jogo, Crash e Aku-Aku que fingir que se beijaram para Nina tirar uma foto deles, se não ela não daria informações. O último chefe do game è o Dr. N.Cortex mutante, assim que ele toma a poção mutante que Dr.Nitrus Brio fez,ele vira um mutante realmente grande e forte, que ataca com um giro muito poderoso. No game, pode-se ver que os titãs se instalaram em Wumpa Island,como os Ratcicles, fizeram atè seu proprio reino nas montalhas congeladas e os RhinoRollers fizeram um vilarejo no deserto, já os Sludges abitaram o depósito de lixo da ilha. Os golpes do mutante Cortex são os mesmos do antigo Crash: giros, barrigadas…
