I personally don't think it's enough to simply say, “as long as they're two consenting adults,” particularly when discussing issues that intersect with power, identity, and historical trauma. While I could go into the semantics of what constitutes an “adult,” the phrase itself is reductive. It assumes that consent exists in a vacuum, free of external influences. It ignores the social conditioning, internalized oppression, and systemic power dynamics. Sure we can acknowledge raceplay in the context of being performed by two consenting adults, however delving into it, we know it does not exist in a vacuum. Raceplay doesn't exist in a cultural void. It emerges from, and is steeped in, centuries of colonialism, slavery, systemic racism, and the fetishization of marginalized bodies. As people of color, our suffering has historically been commodified, exoticized, and eroticized. To pretend otherwise is, frankly, delusional.
Whether you acknowledge it or not, porn has a massive problem with racism, (especially anti blackness), this racism is exemplified in ebony or specific racial fetishes, bbc, being 'blacked', snow bunnies, asian inc3st fantasies or interracial scenes framed with white women as the default victim or prize. Add to that the disgusting frequency of race-coded rap3 fantasies where the “perpetrator” is Black and the “victim” is white or pale-skinned. These aren’t just harmless fantasies, they’re perpetuating harmful narratives that dehumanize blackness and reduce entire ethnicities to sexual caricatures. The media, including porn, plays a significant role in desensitizing audiences, including poc themselves, to racial prejudice and discrimination. When people consume these portrayals uncritically, they internalize the idea that such dynamics are not only acceptable but erotic. What exactly is justifiable about reenacting power structures rooted in slavery, colonial violence, or genocide for sexual gratification?
Is it excusable to engage in sexual naz1 roleplay simply because its between two consenting adults? No! So why defend something like this? The truth is, society has minimized the impact of racism and downplayed the lived experiences of people of color to such a degree that some believe raceplay is just a kinky or taboo fantasy to explore. It’s not. It’s a reflection of how deeply normalized racism has become
I myself am south asian, but i'd love to hear some opinions from other poc from differing backgrounds (or the same ofc) or links to resources and articles :) love my woc feminists<3
Also if you're white, i genuinely don't wanna hear you defending raceplay in any capacity, you will never understand the horrors of racism, this is a moment where you don't defend kink or fetish culture but rather just listen to the minorities this ultimately effects
if you can defend or dismiss these things, you're privileged

Salt Lake City gets around Pride flag ban by making new flags
Tumblr media
Salt Lake City officials have designated three human-rights flags as official city emblems to preserve their display despite a new Utah law limiting flag displays on government property.
The move ensures the LGBTQIA+, Juneteenth, and transgender flags remain visible alongside the American and Utah state flags.
Mayor Erin Mendenhall and the City Council unanimously approved adding the Sego Belonging Flag (representing LGBTQIA residents), Sego Celebration Flag (honoring Juneteenth and Black residents), and Sego Visibility Flag (echoing the transgender flag’s colors) to the city's official symbols.
This decision circumvents Utah House Bill 77, which restricts flags on government property to a limited list.
Tumblr media
To directly challenge Idaho’s statewide prohibition on unauthorized flags over government buildings, Boise’s Mayor Lauren McLean, a Democrat, and the City Council took decisive action. As reported by the Idaho Statesman, on Tuesday, the Council formally designated the Pride flag as the city’s official flag, ensuring its continued display despite the ban.

Can’t access reproductiverights.gov because it’s gone, can’t access the literal constitution on the official White House page because it’s gone, can’t access documents translated to Spanish because they’re gone, and so much more. They did all of this on day one, everyone who voted for him saying none of this would happen can go fuck themselves. They’re coming for reproductive rights and medicine. I have a “reproductive” disease that has fucked up my fertility and when I choose to get pregnant I will very likely need an abortion because it won’t be a viable pregnancy. This administration will get me and so many other women/pregnant people killed. Then they will come for us in the LGBTQ+ community, then the disabled, and anyone that isn’t a white cisgender man. This is just the start and the next four years will be our fight. The resistance start NOW!!!

This news surfaced yesterday and I just want to say this isn't new. This happened and has been reported more than once. There are also the Yemeni Jewish children who were kidnapped from their mothers by Ashkenazi "nurses", who claimed that the baby is dead, and diagnose the mother with hysteria/mental disorder after.
The lack of regard for people of color in Israel shouldn't come as a surprise at all. How many poc do you see in the government/ knesst despite the number of Ethiopian and Yemeni jews?

They're creating an all white country, this is colonizer behavior 101, the world just turned a blind eye.

The term “People of Color” (POC) is a dangerous and misleading concept for Black people. It falsely suggests that all non-white groups share the same struggles, when in reality, many so-called "POC" communities harbor deep anti-Blackness within their own cultures.
Black people must recognize that we have no true friends or allies—only ourselves. History has shown that when Black people align with other racial groups under the POC umbrella, we are used for numbers but abandoned when it comes to real economic and political power.
Asian, Latino, Arab, and other non-Black groups regularly discriminate against Black people in their businesses, families, and societies while still benefiting from our activism and struggle. Instead of wasting time trying to build "coalitions" with people who do not respect us, Black people must focus solely on our own self-determination, economic independence, and global unity.
Black people first. Black people only. The only race that will save us is our own.

2,000-Year-Old Fayum Portraits from Roman Egypt: also known as "mummy portraits," these funerary paintings were often fastened to the coffins of the people they depicted
Tumblr media
Above: Fayum portrait of a woman from Roman-occupied Egypt, c.100-110 CE
Fayum portraiture was a popular funerary practice among the upper-class families of Roman Egypt from about 50 CE to 250 CE. Given the high mortality rates for children during this period, many of these portraits depict children and youths, but adults were often featured, too.
Tumblr media
Above: portrait of a youth wearing a golden wreath, c.130-150 CE; the wreath and the background of the portrait are both gilded
The population of the Faiyum Delta, where most of these portraits were found, largely contained individuals with both native Egyptian/North African and Greek heritage. The Greek lineages can be traced back to the Ptolemaic period, when the Greeks gained control of Egypt and began to establish settlements throughout the region, gradually leading to a cultural diffusion between the Greek and Egyptian populations. The Romans eventually took control of Egypt in 31 CE, absorbing it into the Roman Empire and colonizing much of North Africa, but the demographics of the Faiyum Delta remained largely unchanged.

Many of these Fayum portraits reflect the same blend of ethnic and cultural roots, depicting individuals with both Greek and native Egyptian heritage (a claim that is supported by both archaeological and genetic evidence). Some portraits may also depict native Egyptians who did not have any European ancestry, but had been integrated into Greco-Roman society.

These representations of native Egyptians provide us with unique insights into the actual demographics of Roman-occupied Egypt (and the ancient world at large). Non-European peoples are rarely included in depictions of the classical world; it's also interesting to see the blend of cultural elements that these portraits represent.

Above: portrait of a priest of Serapis, c.140-160 CE; the man in this portrait is shown wearing a fillet/crown that bears the seven-pointed star of the Greco-Egyptian god, Serapis
As this article explains:
In the 1800s and early 1900s, Western art historians didn’t know what to make of these portraits. Scholars of Roman history labeled them Egyptian. Scholars of Egyptian history labeled them Greco-Roman. These binary academic classifications failed to capture the true complexity of the ancient (or, indeed, modern) Mediterranean. In reality, Fayum portraits are a syncretic form, merging Egyptian and Greco-Roman art and funerary practices. They reflect the cosmopolitanism of both Roman and Egyptian history.

Nearly 1,000 of these portraits are currently known to exist.

Girls, women,WOC, POC, afab, LGBTQIA+ adults and kids: start being meaner
And I’m not saying this to be funny, be meaner if it means protecting yourself. Be harsh and unwavering to those who actively voted against your rights
Don’t give them sympathy, empathy or the benefit of the doubt. They sure didn’t give us that
Protect yourself in any way you can.
Plan B has a shelf life of 4 years if stored properly
Be critical of men, doesn’t matter what they believe. Don’t let them have access to your bodies, hell keep them at an arms length
LGBTQIA+ do what you need to do to stay safe. I know most of us already know but; evaluate where you are and the people around you. We are a strong community, we can preserve. Both on love and spite. We deserve to exist and love
Those who voted Trump do not deserve a passive life
Those who voted third party did not heed our warnings, they shouldn’t feel good about themselves
Those who actively decided not to vote are cowards
They should not be forgiven

make plans to get out of here (america) as quickly as possible in an emergency (read: get your passport and save money)
become as familiar as you can with everything that trump has said he will do, study that 900+ page plan and know who is involved
show as much support as possible for queer people and poc, especially trans and latinx people
support women's rights to their own body
specifically to Christian people: please, please, please show support for queer people and poc and please show your aversion to Christian nationalism
protest, disrupt the natural flow of things, don't be quiet don't stop talking about it
