Magical artefacts tend to be defined as old, powerful magical items from my knowledge. The power is what makes a magical artefact a magical artefact. The defintion artefact is typically an old item but powerful snuck into what makes a magical artefact a magical artefact. Probably because of dnd or storytelling shorthand or something along those lines. The artefact that saves the world or whatever.

Oh. I guess that makes sense. I guess a better term would be an enchanted item. The item is infused with magic of some form or another, but the amount of power will vary.

I'd say the most powerful would be the sheild but even that can break. Wukong would definitely shatter it if he used his full strength, but that would risk hurting Reader. He's desperate for her but not that desperate.

Plus his mate told him not to damage it, after all if she wants to use the sheild she can... for now. Hehe~ If he can't get through the sheild no one can so it's not like she has a lover trying to take her away from them.

BTW- The sheild can cover up to a 10ft by 10ft area. So it's not gigantic but can cover a few people.

Can I request The Destined One as a yandere, first meeting his love? Love at first sight from his P.O.V if possible.

In his entire life, he had never seen other Yaoguais such as yourself. Mount Huaguo was popular only with monkeys, and if there was something out of the ordinary, they were always aware of that.

And yet, how could he have not noticed you?

"Tree spirits are simple ones. They do not ask for more than what the earth can give them. They need many years to accommodate power, and often the tree dies even before they could even manifest themselves."

That was what the elders once explained to him and his companions, and he had never imagined to see one in front of him.

Were you really a spirit? Weren't you some kind of divinity coming to bless their mountain?

He couldn't get where your long, hairy ends were, interwined between the branches of the tree like an ivy, and they were decorated by jewels of the same color as the flowers that the tree sprouts.

Your eyes were so kind, so beautiful, so gentle, while they admired the bird that had decided to visit you at the top of the tree.

Your hanfu was like the hair that moved the leaves; his delicate green color adorned your skin like that color was meant. Just to be yours.

And your voice...when was the last time he heard such a magic melody? You were the treasure of the earth—something precious that had been worn and kept as a secret! He couldn't resist; he needed to take a closer look and bathe in your beauty!

But his bsudden coming from the woods must have frightened you, and you take refuge in the tree itself.

"No please!" He pleaded, "Don't leave! I just wanted to meet you!"

He caressed the textured rind of the plant, searching for a trace of the leaves, hoping to glance into those beautiful eyes again. He wanted to see those eyes—to be seen by them!

But you didn't reappeared, not even after his many plea

Every day, the monkey never loses a chance to come to your tree. Every day, he admired you from afar and observed your disappearance in the tree after you had spotted him.

Then he sat and lay on the trunk, talking to you, hoping you could listen to his story.

He told you about the mountain, about his brothers and sisters, about his life and mission. He wondered if you were listening sometime and if the tree where you were hiding allowed you.

The day when, during his talk, he had noticed the silk of your hanfu caressing his shoulder, he was glad.

Hearing your voice was like listening to nature itself. He loved hearing your talk and watching you tell him about your life in the tree and your connection with Mother Earth and nature itself.

He could have listened every day.

Yet, he wondered, have you ventured beyond the branches of the tree? Have you ever taken a step away from your Meadow or followed the stream that gently passed near you? Have you ever tried to leave?

"I may not leave this tree. My life is bound to it. As his roots stay, I must too."

He wondered if those words were true, but when you tried to follow him farther from your place of birth, a barrier stopped you. You were trapped, and you didn't care.

At night he wondered, What if he wasn't there to protect you? What if someone found you and hurt you? ...or court you.

This idea made his tail Twitch in bed.

You were the most beautiful creature that the earth could birth; you were a fruit ready to be eaten! 

And his mission...

He didn't want to leave you, but he didn't want you to be taken away by someone else!

Even a god would fall for you! And you were, oh, so naive and kind. No, he couldn't allow anyone to hurt you or tò take you away from him.

And so he spoke his thought.

At first, it was just your curiosity in your head about the world you were living in, the mountain, and the other monkeys.

But you seemed unfazed, only content with the stories that he told you.

Then he tried to tell you about the danger of being alone in such a place, with only a tree as a line of defense. He told you about the Yaoguais that roamed the mountains, the humans with the axes, and the gods with their dirty tricks. 

And yet you stayed strong like that plant.

And he grew desperate, so he told you his love for you, his desire to be yours as you could be his, to be together as one in his home, where no one could harm you or even lay an eye on you.

And you grow cold like the winter.

"Stop asking me something I can't. I'm bound to this tree, and I'll stay with it until the skies burn."

...that damn tree...

Your screamed echied thought thevslley Just as the thunderous sound of the falling tree touching the earth.

He had tried again to convince you, and he gave you an ultimatum.

You said no again, and he took the situation into his own hands.

He never knew that he could be so strong by ripping that tree in half with his bare hands. Surely, he thought, you were able to bring the worst out of him.

You pained cries hurt his beare, but it was necessary. Your hands grasped the truck, screaming for the pain and the loss.

"HIW COULD YOU?! YOU DEMON, HOW COULD YOU?! I'LL DIE! I'll die because of you."

Who could have guessed that such cruel words could come out of those lips, the ones he dreamed to kiss and own?

"You forced my hand. I have your choice, and you refused!"

His eyes looked at you. So scared, so trembling, so helpless.

You were BEAUTYFULL even in the lowest part of your life, and he wanted to have you more than ever.

No matter how much you fought, he was stronger, and in his grasp, he silently took you away from your place of birth, from the tree that had nurtured you for years, and from everything you knew.

You didn't had to know about the small branch that he had olanted away to grant your survival; you didn't have to know that everyone was ready to have you as his wife.

What you really needed to know was that he loved you, and he would rather burn the world than let you go.

When do we get Jealous Macaque

I've had a few people ask about jealous macaque after the last part

and honestly- i don't think i'm gonna implement this in the comic, because of how i think macaque would react in this situation.. it wouldn't be a funny haha moment that could be resolved easily- and probably make the tension between them worse again

but for those curious of what i think would happen here ya go: (tiny bit angsty so here's a warning for those who don't like that kind of stuff)

let's say someone was flirting with an oblivious wukong who's just being nice. how i see it, macaque wouldn't get possessive, or angry at the person.. he would simply accept his fate going from self-derogating thoughts, to slowly spiraling back towards a growing hate for wukong. because how could he replace him like that, and so easily? of course he tries to be rational with himself, they're both adults who moved on with their lives after all but that stinging feeling is still there. and because it's macaque we're talking about, ofc he doesn't open up about it and just starts bottling all that made up hate deep inside, only for it to be released as seemingly unprompted aggression towards wukong

i think you can see how this would complicate things-

so yea, not a story line for the comic, don't wanna get too angsty/dramatic ✌️😌 but i hope this answer is still satisfying in some way if you guys have other headcanons i'd love to hear them!

and to answer the rest of @phoenixeclipse-lmkau's ask first, ty, butchering prompts is my passion 🙏 second, yea no, wukong would not let that happen probably try to deflect their attempts without hurting them

Yes, he's a lower demon, but in the end, it was Tang who did the courtnapping bc he thought that Pigsy wouldn't date him if he didn't court him the demon way, while Pigsy was planning on courting him the human way.

I think MK wouldn't like to become immortal against his choice regardless. Yes, in S1 we see he wanted to become one, but I think he still was in that phase were he just wanted to be/do everything like his hero. And that included eating a peach of immortality. I don't think he ever thought of the implication of being immortal

I got a question for The Cage- Trapped in a Cage. Shoot, I know it's got Cage in the name.

I really like the fic, but poor Mac. Someone should kick Wukong's ass. Like I like my yanderes, but this dude needs to chill.

Anyways my question, well questions are

1. Does Macaque ever escape from the tower and the island or is it a bad ending?

And 2. Do the kiddos ever learn their dad is a psycho?

Macaque will eventually get out of the tower, there is a good ending, he just suffers a lot before it

As for the kids, they do notice how bad things tend to happen to them when they disobey Wukong as they get older, but they have been conditioned to think it's because their dad isn't there to protect them, why would their dad do anything to hurt them?

They are told how insane their dad is when they get kidnapped by the demon bull family (it's good a good thing for them to get kidnapped), but they've got 18 years of brainwashing, conditioning and their "family" is pretty much a cult, so they aren't very keen on believing it for a while.

DBK fam has a lot of deconditioning to do.

Do not apologise!! I love getting questions!! And I am not getting too many, because this is like the third one I've gotten... at all but I love that they make me think of different parts of my AUs 🩷

And yes, they know that Xiaotian is their son. They just couldn't figure out HOW he was their son at first. His headband covers the small feather he's got on his head. But he has Mac's six ears and Wukong’s powers too.

It fully hits them that he is Phoenix’s kid when they notice small rose buds in his hair when his emotions get too high. He doesn't like the flowers in his hair since they usually get crushed to he picks them out. No it doesn't hurt him, it's like tugging on a single strand of hair.

"He's ours," Macaque mutters, a LONG overdue conversation. Like a month long overdue.

"Yeah. But when did we have a kid again?" Wukong asked, receiving a punch to the arm.

"I don't know! But it doesn't matter..." his words were cut off.

"Mei!" MK shouted, flustered, catching their attention. His hair was littered with rose buds as he argued with his friend about... Red Son? They had run into the navy yesterday. How cute, Macaque thought. He slightly turned his head to see Wukong focused on the roses, unable to hear the quieter parts of the conversation.

"She... is alive? Or was..." He barely muttered, they thought she was dead.

She's been gone for 19 years now. He opened his mouth before closing it again, trying to figure out what was going on. Their love had been alive, long enough to have a child. They didn't know about their own kid. They spent years mourning the loss of their love after going completely crazy for a month, destroying almost anything in sight.

After a month of having their son with them, they finally had the time to let it sink in. Not just about having a son but he implications of that fact.

Okay I love this! Though that's not exactly how I had planned for it to go. Instead the Brotherhood had decided to stop in a town which is how Phoenix is able to catch up to them. Phoenix runs into Xiaotian alone in the market place and Wukong and Macaque arrive halfway through the conversation a little bit shocked.

"Mom!?" Xiaotain was both shocked and excited to see his mother when she arrived.

"Xiaotain! Oh my gosh honey are you okay? I saw the wanted posters, what is going on?" Phoenix had run up to him and gripped his forearms tightly, her son being stronger than her for the last few years meant it didn't hurt at all.

"You saw the wanted posters? Am I that famous!? Awesome!!" He jumped at the news, his eyes sparkling with delight.

"Awesome?" Silence sat between them for a moment, "What do you mean awesome?"

"It means I'm pretty good at this pirate business, obviously," He explained as a matter of factually completely calm about the ordeal.

He gently pried her hands off of his arms to pull her into a big hug, his eyes looked up to scan the area as his ears twitched. He had to make sure no one was watching. He was a famous wanted pirate, he didn't want people hunting down his mother too. He had no idea that his mother had been a pirate once too and had a larger bounty than him right now.

"Don't tell me... you want to be a pirate..." She hoped he would say no, she had tried to raise him so he wouldn't act like her... like at all.

"YES!! IT'S AWESOME! They are teaching me so much like how to properly steer a ship, Captain Wukong is really laid back about it too. He let me steer it! It was so fun! Of course Mac had made sure that nothing was around to crash into first but it's a start!" He grinned happily gently pulling away to jump up and down for a moment.

Phoenix's heart pounded in her chest. Why was her son so much like her younger self? Why did she have the excitement about pirates like his dad, why did he have to get involved with them. As Xiaotain kept rambling on and on she had to stop herself from yelling.

"Enough!" His words stopped as he flinched back from his mother's anger, she never got angry like every. Frustrated? Sure a lot with how rambunctious he and Mei were especially.

"I cannot let you be a pirate, especially not with them," She was barely holding back her anger, not only did they have to haunt her sleep but now they were actively trying to put her son in direct danger.

"W-with them?" Xaiotain asked slowly as he processed her words. What was she talking about, what would she know about the captain and his mate? Was it because they were also really famous?

"Yes with them. They are selfish, arrogant, and highly dangerous bastards. I will not have you associate with them," She crossed her arms over her chest as she started shaking.

At first Xaiotain thought it was from anger making him angry too but then figured out it was something else. Something else entirely, when he looked into her eyes she looked truly terrified. He hated the expression that graced her face.

"Mom- I'm not in danger, I'm really strong remember. Besides they have also been training me other ways too! Mac has been teaching me how to use shadow magic and I can lift the Captain's staff! Still not sure why, but it's awesome! He said I couldn't have it but he'd show me how to use it. I'll be fine," He tried to console her unintentionally causing her more fear and sadness.

"They know...?" Her words were barely a whisper but her son heard none the less. Her incredibly dense son heard with his six beautiful ears that he got from who she had deemed is Baba.

"They know what?" Her whole body froze when she heard the next voice, that was not the voice of her son. Slowly she turned her head as she came face to face with The Six Eared Macaque was had his face mere inches from hers.

She blinked a few times but when she found that it wasn't an illusion she did the only thing she could think of. She clocked him in the face with her fist, his head snapped back more from shock than anything else. Grabbing Xiaotain's hand she didn't have time to run when arms wrapped around her waist.

"What do we have here?" Captain Sun Wukong asked a sigh escaping his lips as he rested his chin on her head. He was using transformation magic to be taller than her. It sent a chill up her spine.

"Hey! Let her go," Xaiotain growled. He liked his Captain he really did, but he didn't trust anyone with his mom. Not a single person. With narrowed eyes he cocked his head to the side when he saw his expression.

"Yeah, I'm not going to do that. It's been 19 years of pure torture without her, I am not letting our love slip away a second time," Sun Wukong said tightening his grip ever so slightly on the woman frozen in fear.

Love? The fuck was he talking about? They had talked about killing her and how she was so weak and pathetic. Why the hell should she trust anything that he said? No she didn't trust what he said, not a single bit.

"Love? What do you mean love? And how do you know my mother?" Xaiotain's eyes flashed with protectiveness, she same protectiveness that was a nightmare for anyone that hated or threatened his mother.

"Mother? She really is your mother?" Macaque asked slowly, shadows covered most of his face as he tried to hide the psychotic smile that graced his face. "I see there is much to talk about between the three of us."

"What is there to talk about?" Xaiotain asked whipping his head looking between the two quickly. He was so confused.

"Of course we know your mother bud~ How else would you exist? Come on you have to had realized it by now," Wukong began with a chuckle nuzzling Phoenix's dark brown hair.

"Don't you dare," Phoenix snapped trying to get out of his grip but his grip didn't budge at all.

"Fine, why don't you tell him? I mean it's kind of hypocritical of you really darling. You were one of the best pirates that there ever was and yet you don't want OUR son to be a pirate? He does such a good job at it though, and we keep him safe. Not that he need it," Macaque said his eyes twinkling as he gently cupped her face in his palms.

She was really here standing in front of him, trapped in his mate's grasp. A single thought passed through both his and Wukong's head in that moment. She wasn't going anywhere. Not this time. His heart swelled with joy, she was resisting but she had sealed her fate way before Xaiotain was even thought of.

"W-What?" Xaiotain's grip on his Captain's arm loosened from his shock. What was he talking about?

"Come on now, you have to have realized by now. You said it yourself you can pick up Wukong's staff, you have his gold vision, you have even transformed like him, you're six ears are a clear indication, you can use shadow portals, and have even summoned a shadow clone. You'll learn even more as we train you but come on you have to have realized by now," Macaque said calmly as he explained, his eyes turning from Xaiotain to Phoenix. Her face was full of fear as she started shaking with tears in her eyes. Something happened, and he would figure out what, but in the meantime.

"You are our son, and that is obvious," Wukong added giving Phoenix an ever so slight tug closer to him, he was careful not to have a painful grip but he wasn't going to let her go at all.

Honestly that should have been the most shocking part of the situation. However Xaiotain's brain locked onto a different piece of information. "YOU USED TO BE A PIRATE!?"

Is Qi Xiaotian the only cub that The Monkey Kings have with Phoenix?

No, he is actually not. The Monkey Kings don't want just one cub and Phoenix absolutely love cubs too so they have several.

There are six that I have already created.

First there is obviously Qi Xiaotian, he is the oldest and takes after all three of his parents. His name is eventually turned to Sun Xiaotian when he meets his dad and Baba though. Depending on the AU sometimes he never had the Qi in front of his name to begin with.

Second and Third are twins. They are Bao and Tao.

Sun Bao is reckless and impulsive just like his dad, which Phoenix found odd because he looks like the spitting image of Macaque. He had pure white fur, with striking gold eyes. A dark purple face mask covers his face. And he has six ears like his Baba.

Sun Tao is the opposite of his brother. He is calm and thinks things through before he goes causing havoc. Of course he is still chaotic like his brothers though. He has golden fur and dark golden eyes. He shares the same dark red face mask as his dad and has six ears like his Baba.

The last three are actually Triplets. Their parents were ecstatic though one passed out when they found out that they were having triplets.

Sun Meihua is the oldest of the triplets. She is the spitting image of her Baba and her Mama. She has beautiful white fur with a light pink heart shaped mask across her face. Like most of her siblings she also has beautiful golden eyes. Roses decorate her long fur, along with the eight beads that she has woven in a single braid. Each symbolizing one of her family members. She is also calm and calculated like her Baba.

Sun Jing is the second youngest of all the cubs and the second born of the triplets. She is strong and impulsive, taking mostly after her dad. She is the only cub of the family that only has two ears too, though they are more sensitive than a normal demon's. She has beautiful golden fur, with a red face mask that flares out at the bottom.

Sun An, is the youngest cub that the trio has. The one who nearly didn't make it the day she was born. She is the 'weakest' of her siblings and takes the most after her mother. If it weren't for the six ears, and golden eyes she could be mistaken for her mother. With her dark brown fur, bright red roses and pretty pink heart shaped face mask. She is the kindest and least destructive of all her siblings.

Thank you!! It'll be a while into the fic before that happens, unfortunately. I also suppose I need to clarify that Phoenix doesn't always have wings. She wasn't born with them. Her sister was, though. Because of how she got them she hides them as much as she can, not liking how they look on her.

She summons them only when she really believes she needs them. Think of Peng from LMK, except her back is completely flat.

If her magic runs super low, though, her wings will summon themselves because she uses magic to hide them.

Personally I hope that the courting season wins in the Phoenixeclipse CYOA poll.but something I been wondering and hope to find out if it’s the one you end up writing about,is if phoenix actually knows about courting rituals since I don’t really think it’s something she would be told about where she lived before joining the journey.

First and foremost you have made my day by asking anything at all!! I love getting asks!!!

And to answer your question she does but she doesn't. The first 100 years of her life were wiped from her memory for... reasons that do not pertain to this specific ask. But before she lost her memories she had dealt with courting rituals several times, not for herself but of old friends that she used to have.

After the incident, she lost those memories including the ones of courting rituals. She was never told about them by her master or her sisters so when Sun Wukong and Macaque try to court her, she is extremely confused. Leave it up to Wukong to not say anything about why he's doing it. And Macaque thinking she knows so... she will probably be confused for a while.

Phoenix was blushing as she tried to make him be quiet as he fought her hand. Playfully on his part with his strength she'd never be able to win against him.

Macaque remains silent as he walks up, glancing over at his lovers and his son. His eyes narrowed before he turned to Xaiotian, he would ask questions later. For now he would wait, as much as he loved Wukong, he knew that he would freak out and they wouldn't get any answers at all.

Thank you so much! Also there are two versions of the Pirate AU that I'm thinking of. One where Qi Xiaotian is a little kid (Around 6 or 7) who decides to sneak aboard the merchant ship and one where he is 18 years old.

I try to keep each post short above the break as to not make it look too crowded. Thank you for the ask by the way! I love talking about my AUs.

In the version that he is a little kid he does mention it a lot more. Since he's so young he doesn't understand all that's going on, only knowing that these monkey demons are taking care of him and his friend.

"Who's your mom kiddo?"

"My mama is the best! She makes great peach cobbler, and helps me train! She used to be a pirate like you!" He would explain, if asked about her. Of course he's young and doesn't know her full name in this version. So it drives his dads crazy trying to figure it out, though they know in the back of their heads they just NEED that confirmation.

When Phoenix arrives, then Xiaotian is ecstatic to see his mother. He would immediately point her out and doesn't understand what she's yelling about. So when they decide to keep her on their ship, she has a harder time leaving without upsetting him. Of course that doesn't stop her from trying to get her son out of the situation. Pirates are dangerous and deadly and she knows that first hand.

In the version where he's 18 years old he is a little smarter about it, though not by much. Rather than not saying her name because he doesn't know it he doesn't say her name because he wants to protect her. Very protective kiddo.

"So what's your mom like?"

"My mom? She's amazing. She's always there when I need her and did her best to raise me," He would say. "It was hard to do by herself but she did it. That's actually how she met Mei's granddad. She was trying to calm down one of my tantrums in the park when he came over and helped."

"Really? What's her name? To have raised you by herself she must be an amazing person."

"She is," He would purposefully refuse to say her name.

As an adult he looks up to the two monkey demons that rule the seas but he still wants to protect his mother no matter what. Of course that causes a fight to break out between him and his dads when Phoenix does get there. He doesn't exactly approve of the whole kidnapping thing.

He had gone with them more willingly but his mom says she wants nothing to do with them. She just doesn't want him to get hurt, she wants to protect her son.

"Favorite fruit? My favorite fruit would have to be strawberries honestly. Though I do like all fruit to be honest, I can't name a specific one I don't like," Phoenix responds with a smile on her face. She feels heart warmed that someone asked her a question.

"Hey! Hey! What about me!? My favorite fruit is peaches!!" Sun Wukong jumps behind her, half jumping onto her shoulder causing her to topple a little bit.

"Wukong!?" Phoenix shouts in shock as she nearly falls over.

"Hehe~," He giggles as he nuzzled into her cheek.

After pushing him off she straightens out her robes, brushing off the dirt that the king got on her. She is almost done when she suddenly falls into the ground and lands in Macaque's arms. Blinking in shock she narrows her eyes and crosses her arms.

"Must you use your shadow portals without warning me?" She grumbled, puffing out her cheeks.

"What can I say you just look so cute when you are startled," He chuckles.

"Moonlight! These people are trying to talk to our Flame," Wukong said before glaring out at the anon who asked the questions.

"Oh really?" Macaque's eyes flashed towards them.

"Yeah, Wukong decided to answer the question too. What about you? What's your favorite fruit?" Phoenix asks innocently.

"Plums, and mangoes," he responded after a little pondering. Still holding Phoenix in his arms he nuzzled her cheek.

"Mangoes? That's my master's favorite fruit too!" Of course neither monkey demon liked to hear about the master that she was so devoted to.

"Anyways, I loved the question!! If you have any more don't hesitate to ask, though you might get an answer from all of us," Phoenix giggled innocently before attempting to get out of their hold on her. Of course neither wanted to let her go at all and merely held her firmly as they make their way back to the rest of the group (Tripitaka, Ao Lie, Pigsy and Sandy.)
