i am absolutely facinated by the differences between how Petersen and how Havers's personalities have been added to. they both have basically the same amount of time on screen and they do just as little both, except showcase a little bit of their relationship with Lister and the Captain. so like, how is it that Petersen's characterisation (in fics and such) ranges from 'the bastard who's always drunk and does nothing but unwanted pranks on everyone because he doesn't care' to 'Lister's most close and trusted friend with great empathy who sometimes even helps out Rimmer just to be nice' whereas i feel like Havers is always very close to the same 'professional, actually efficent and very caring but also very tortured by his office crush' i don't think i've ever seen him portayed as mean, even before series 5 came out, to me there was really no way of knowing if he was belitteling Captain's compotence inside his head when he stumbled for excample. but for Petersen, he is actually the one Lister pulls a prank on, he doesn't even raise a ruckus for Lister trying to ruin his date, but he's still potraid as downright evil sometimes, not to say there aren't some mellow friend Petersens there too, but that's my point; there's so much variation! it's so different from Havers
given the roughly the same amount of interactions i just find it interesting how Havers's personality was constructed in such a uniform way but Petersen's all over the place. i'm thinking what could be the difference? that Havers is considered a love interest? so people just wanted to constuct a fun fling for Captain even if it didn't have much basis? (it's actually pretty funny that they're not the duo that ended up kissing at their reunion). or is it something like there's much more widely spread discussion about Havers's personality than i imagine there would've been when Petersen was seen, thus making everyone's own first impression of him cement in their head? i honestly have no idea, i just find the differences between how people treat characters in such similiar situations interesting
#watch me not spell either of their names right 'cos i'm too tired to check them#but you know who i'm talking about#red dwarf#bbc ghosts#anthony havers#olaf petersen#the characters who the protagonists lost and now miss#i always mean to write just three sentences but it always turn into something like this

Ngl the Leon S. Kennedy hate reminds me of how after Separate Ways came out I've heard about how so many people started hating on Leon (like they understood Ada more but also started shitting on him which is ironic considering that usually Ada is potraid as the bad and manipulative one) the people went into his VA's livestream and poor dude had to defend him like 😭
Oh, I forgot about that livestream lmao 😅😅
But what I will say, is that for every hate Leon’s been getting, the hatred that Ada, Claire and Ashley get is exponentially larger.
Especially Ada, given his it’s a whole lot of racism on top of the misogyny.
So I figured I’d at least try to even the playing field by dunking on the white man 😆😆
#thanks for the ask#dark-drawssss#I will admit that this is pure pettiness on my part#but I have my reasons lmao

i recently learned about rick riordan's writing being stereotype ish and like... not the good stuff i thought it was. now im sad bc there r so many issues with like representation and like i can't really do anything about it :( i feel so useless bc all i can do is educate myself? and idk if i can enjoy any of the books anymore... idk i just feel bad about myself thinking they were good representation. i'd like to talk abt this with my younger sibling but idk how... sorry im really lost rn.
hey... ive been seeing that too, and honestly im also pretty confused. from my point of view, rick did do a few things wrong, but he didnt seem to do them intentionally. im really bad at reading people, so this can be wrong, but from what i can sense, he really tries to be inclusive as much as he can, but him being a white, cis, straight male doesnt really make that his strongest point.
i know he made mistakes, but i personally cant stop enjoying his books. they are one of my "hyperfixations", and they were one of the only things i had when i was going through really tough times... plus, they were what brought me and one of my best friends together... i have a deep connection to those books, and i realize that they arent perfect, but they are a big part of my life that i just cant let go of.
its like harry potter: its been a part of my life since i was 5. my 7th birthday was harry potter themed, and it was all i knew gow to talk about for years (probably between my firsts "hyperfixations" and the one that lasted the longest). i have too much of an emotional connection with those two series to stop enjoying them. jkr is just a terrible person, thats a fact, but that doesnt mean we cant enjoy hp anymore. for me, its heartbreaking everything she does, but i decided just to not support her anymore. i wont buy new book editions, i wont go watch new movies, and i wont buy merch.
sure, rick did a lot of things that arent really nice. but he did open a lot of doors. a little while after i finished the heroes of olympus series, i started questioning my own sexuality, and having nico there was actually pretty helpful. it showed me i wasnt alone. the stereotypes can be (and are) harmful, im not going to mask that, but i honestly dont have that much authority or knowladge to talk about this.
i am part of a few minorities he represented (sexuality and gender minorities, and neurodiverse people) but not all, so its not my place to talk about the other side of things.
i still have to do more reaserch, and if i said anything wrong, i apologize. i tried my best to be as uncontrovesial as possible, and give you my personal expirience on that. various people have various expiriences, and im in no place to talk about those
i wish i had people to tag and help you, but i only follow a couple pjo blogs, so i dont have much stuff.
i really do reccomend you do a deep dive in the fandom and the books, so you can conprehend the situation better, and draw your conclusions and opinions from that
and about talking to your sibling: i would suggest aproaching them with a certain character (piper, for example) and talking to them about who she is and how she was potraid, and also look in the point of view of people in her place (native americans, in this case). you could do that to as many characters as you want. be pacient, depending on your siblings age, they may take a while to understand, but if you explain it properly, after doing your reaserch, they will understand.
im sorry i couldnt help more

Ia tersenyum kemudian menutup mata untuk tidur.

Oscar Mazaroli exhibition review
Exhibition Questions Name James Ray Class HND 2A Date 19/09/20 Name of exhibition Oscar Mazaroli Location of exhibition Street level
How does the flyer/poster advertise the exhibition?
The image on the flyer is called “the castlemilk lads” this image shows a group of young boys looking attentively into the lens. I think this is a good image for the flyer of the rest of the exhibition as it is a very provocative image and I think draws the observer into the flyer.
What is the suitability of the gallery space? How is the exhibition laid out?
The gallery is layed out in two separate spaces, the first room is full out the images of people in Glasgow, along the walls there are different characters and faces from Glasgow in the 1950s. in the second room, there is more images of Glasgow its self with some landscapes and city scrapes from that era.
How has the work been mounted? Is this appropriate for the work?
The work is mounted at eye level along the walls, I think this is appropriate for this work as it gives each of the portraits an equableness and no one image stands out from the rest.
Who made the work?
Oscar Mazaroli
Who did they make it for, who is the audience? The people of Glasgow, a history of the city
How does it make you feel?
Looking at the work, I feel a sense of simple, looking at the people of Glasgow in the 1950s, everyone looks mundane and unique, there is a simpleness about the way each person is potraid. There is also a sense of community among these images.
There are no cars and chaotic streets, much more simple.
If the work has a title does it make you think about the image/s differently? The title of the work is called the people of glasgow. I think this title is very fitting for the work as it shows exactly that, people going to work, playing in the street or in leisure.
How would I describe it to someone later?
A collection of images that show characters and community of Glasgow
Does the photograph make you want to ask questions, what are these questions?
A question that comes into my head is, how does Oscar make each person look so unique and stand out among everything else.
Is the photograph valuable? How do you know? The images are very valuable not just in terms of money but they have a different type of value as they are a history of Glasgow.
Is the work for sale and who might buy it?
You are able to buy images from street level shop, a history magazine or editor may buy these images, also they are very proactive as wall mounts.
Who organised the exhibition and who selected the work?
A number of different students from Glasgow Caledonian university and Street works team.

It took some time for me to get the expressions of my character just right. It was hard to express emotions I wanted to show, as his head is just a skull. So to overcome this, I looked at other skeleton like characters, such as this character, Sir Daniel Fortesque, from the game “Medievil”. He is an undead knight and his head is quite similar to Duskull’s. To help create my emotions, I looked at him for reference. I noticed how the shape of his skull actually bent and allot of emotion is potraid through his eyes. This is something I used when creating my character and I believe it turned out really well.

So, there she is!!!!! potraid beautifully holding bouquets and that smile catching my eyes (*really). My bestfriend just turned out to be An Apothecary couple days ago, and I am so proud of her!!! Yeay!!! (*clapping really hard)
See, God just gave you what you deserve, wing. That hard work you’ve been through to get this three words title on your name, really show me that you’re just not a stubborn girl anymore but a grown up woman. Be grateful for what you got, sometimes asking to much to God is better than nothing to ask ;)
Above all of that, prepare yourself to face the more bigger things coming to you anytime soon, it could be ‘get a job’, ‘travel the world’, or ‘the wedding maybe’. Whatever it is, I hope you’ll choose wisely and considered it as the reasons to make you happy, my dear. My love will always around anytime you need.
xoxo

Hey Mask headcannon RANT
Oh guys I'm REALLY sorry about not posting art and just ranting over bulkshit but I just have this headcannon so much.
I absolutely hate how people think Ticci Toby is an annoying waffle loveing hyperactive prick. I honestly see toby more as a tragic character and its a shame such a good character is potraid as this mess. I wish people would actually see Toby as he really is. The way kastoway made Toby. But no the internet had to ruin yet another great thing. I like Tobys real personality an d hate whn people project this awful headcannon persoality on Ticci Toby. He was a brilliantly written and well desighned character and they turned him into a flat one dementional annoyance! im sorry for ranting but why wold the internet want to ruin toby?!
