Project 29

I was thinking on the treadmill this afternoon that Russell Vought spent the 4 years between 2020 and 2024 writing Project 25. Why can’t we spend the next 4 years writing Project 29.  It would be the mirror image opposite of Project 25.

 Some thoughts I had on what Project 29 might contain:

Rewrite the US Constitution so that it is not based on protecting the property interest of wealthy White men but instead based on protecting thee rights of all people, not just land holders.

To prevent dictatorship which the current form of Presidency has always been, eliminate the office of the Presidency and replace it with a council comprised of a representatives of each of the 50 states.

Reverse the Citizen United 558 U.S. 310 (2010) Supreme Court Ruling allowing unlimited spending on campaigns by limiting the amount that any one person or organization can donate

If the Presidency continues, do away with the electoral college

Provide free health and dental care to all Americans

Increase the amount of Social Security monthly payments

Make homelessness and inner city poverty high priority funding candidates

Provide education on the dangers of Fasicm and suggest ways of preventing it from occurring.

Provide education on Trans, Gay and LBGT rights

Provide education on racism, its causes and how to deal with it. and prevent it.

Provide protection for free speech and protest

Ugly Betty says NO to Prop 8 (2008)

Jim bought a life size Obama (card board cut out)—it stands by our front door.

Neighbors in the last duplex across the street put up two “No on 8” signs and an Obama sign yesterday. 

The “Yes on 8” duplex across the street pointed their sign toward our house. Actually, they have two.   And they put up a McPalin sign after we put up the life sized Obama.

Ugly Betty, her Dad and sister did a “No on 8” ad last night during Ugly Betty, aimed at Latinos. 

It ran later, too.

Diane Feinstein also has a powerful ad “it will change the constitution. It (Prop. 8) equals discrimination.”

The Yes on 8s stole Troy’s  porch light.  They put it in their porch light.

You can see that Project 25 was already brewing with the advent of Proposition 8 and its ban on gay marriage which passed in 2008. 2008 is not that long ago. Even though Proposition 8 was later overturned and the right for gays to marry has been made a part of the California Constitution as of November 5, 2024 passage of Proposition 3, there are lots of people out there like our across the street "Yes on 8" neighbor mentioned in the above 2008 entry. They want to force us back into the dark pre Stone Wall days. In other words , they want us silenced, back in the closet and locked in forever. We have to "point our signs" back at them and say, no, we are out, proud and we are not going back. Once you see, you cannot unsee!

How Project 2025 and the re-election of Donald Trump in the USA could negatively affect LGBTQIA+ rights

The above article explains my point a lot better than I ever could, but I am begging all of you on this site, particularly those of you who are living in the USA or have the right to vote there, to please consider the above. I don't normally share my political beliefs, but Trump has already stated that he wants to reverse a lot of the rights that the LGBTQIA+ community currently has in the US, which are largely delineated in Project 25. Within this law and some of his policies, Trump has made it clear that he would ban gender-affirming care for minors and he also intends to limit queer discrimination protections in the workplace. Moreover, the project would reinstate a transgender military ban and it would rescind health care protection for trans people, thus urging the Congress to define gender as male and female, which would solely be fixed at birth. Overall, his policies would stop any and all acknowledgement and acceptance of gender identity and of members of the LGBTQIA+ community in general. Please feel free to not take this at face value and to instead do your own research; the best way to combat Trump and the lack of democracy that he is encouraging is to conduct research and to fight misinformation. Sorry to reiterate this, but I beg all of you to please bear Project 25 in mind when voting in the 2024 presidential election, for those of you that live in the United States.
