Today In JSA History: First Appearance of Per Degaton

Per Degaton—whose real name remains unknown—made his first appearance in All-Star Comics #35, published on June 5, 1946. He was created by writer John Broome and artist Irwin Hasen.

During World War II, Per Degaton was a member of the Nazi Party and a brilliant, ruthless scientist. He infiltrated top-secret government organizations such as the Time Trust and Project M, manipulating events to serve his own ambitions. His actions brought him into direct conflict with the Justice Society of America and the All-Star Squadron.

Degaton became obsessed with world domination and power, eventually joining the Injustice Society. He learned the secrets of time travel from a robot from the future, gaining not only the ability to traverse time but also to exist outside the time stream itself—making him a constant and dangerous threat.

With his intellect, ambition, and temporal abilities, Per Degaton stands as one of the most enduring and formidable villains in the DC Universe, especially to Golden Age heroes and their legacies.

The Image of Justice League of America #209 is by George Pérez and the interior page is from Justice Society of America #3 written by Geoff Johns with art by Mikel Janín.

Okay wait a minute

Was no-one gonna tell me that the guy who made Doki Doki Literature Club was also one of the best Link players in Super Smash Bros. Melee? And he helped to develop Project M? AND he's a god damn speedrunner for Yoshi's Story for the N64?!

That's a resume and a half, Jesus!

The next Project M figure isn't a humanoid, but a rideable mecha saber-toothed feline mount, evocative of Henshin Cyborg's Jaguar, the Titan Dobermachine from vintage Microman and the Magne Animals from the 1999 Magnepowers series, among other cybernetic creatures that have appeared over the course of the various Microman lines (not to mention Zoids now that Takara and Tomy are under one banner). In some ways, this feels like the most unique member of this line-up so far...

Since I've made (pretty much) every Pikmin captain playable, it was about time to remake Remix's Chef Louie and Astro Alph!

I've also been trying my hand at some custom animations. I've made completely unique idles for Louie, while Alph so far only has 1 unique idle, a taunt and a new, weird f-tilt.

( A Sm4sh dev document where Alph was still considered a clone, he was said to "attack with the help of his antenna". Obviously this meant commanding the Pikmin, but I thought it'd be cool to use it as a whip lol )

If I ever learn how to make PSAs, even the slightest bit, I'm making a Pikmin-less Louie moveset myself because he deserves it

Someone mentioned PROJECT M while I was watching an episode of MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN. I mean, who gave the greenlight to use such name?
