can we see prosper's prosthetic wing

I love designing mechanical things so much. Whilst the design is 100% not something that would work in reality, who fucking cares!!! Suspend your disbelief!!! My girl gets to fly again!!!

It’s made from gronkle iron and refined leather, so it’s as light and flexible but also sturdy as it can be.

The wing works by being synced up with the remaining left wing through a pole that runs along its arm. So she can’t control each wing separately, they’re always making the same movement, which means when she’s turning in flight she heavily relies on her hip wings and tail fins.

It’s not something she can wear for ages cuz her scars get irritated, and the wing itself is quite clunky (Hiccup tried his absolute best okay he’s still just a stupid little Viking) and often needs repairing.

But hey, she can fly again!!! After a LOT of practice.

Prompt 28 - Prosper

They still had a week until the next full moon, and Regulus and his friends could remove the mandrake leaves from their mouths and start on the next step of their journeys to become animagi. Regulus had insisted that Pandora had told him that no one would say anything and that they would all become animagi. He’d heard enough about her to trust what Regulus had told him. The others had been harder to win over, but they got there in the end.

James was on his way to collect Regulus from his potion room and take him on a date. 

“Love, you need to come with me. I’ve planned a date for us,” he said after he easily unlocked the door. Regulus looked at him in disbelief. He’d upped his number of charms on the door, and James had brushed them aside as though they were nothing. He saw the moment James’s words sunk in. 

Regulus waved his wand over his cauldrons and the flames beneath extinguished. He cast a stasis charm and then was by James’s side. 

“Come on then, Potter,” he said impatiently, tugging at James’s sleeve. James chuckled as he led Regulus up to the third floor. 

They descended into the tunnel hidden by the one-eyed witch and started the long walk to Hogsmeade. “So what do you have planned?” Regulus asked when they were about halfway. James just tapped the side of his nose. He wasn’t telling. 

They fell into a comfortable silence. Content to just be together. James helped Regulus through the trap door at the end of the tunnel, and after a quick unlocking charm, they were out in the village itself. 

James led Regulus towards the middle of the village, stopping before they rounded the corner into the main square. 

“Close your eyes, love,” Regulus did as he was told, only raising his brow questioningly for a second. James peered around the corner and when he looked back, Regulus had his eyes open again. “Cheaters never prosper, you know?” He said sternly as Regulus’s eyelids fluttered closed again. 

“Can’t blame a man for trying,” James led Regulus around the corner where the crowd had gathered around a raised platform just as the Veela began to sing.

prosper headcanons!!

all of the states fought back against the invasion, but prosper was the one least affected. they also were the only state out of all four that never went into rationing for food.

instead, they had to go into rationing for clothing, because people were mass panic-buying fabric to the point were there was a state-wide shortage.

kissing is an accepted greeting. on the cheeks for friends and family, on the lips for romantic partners. public affectionate between friends is normalised and even expected.

romance is a really important thing in their culture. valentines day is a three-week affair, and marriage is encouraged to anyone above the age of 16 by the government by giving free housing to new couples, tax is halved, and couples which children get benefits.

however, divorce is illegal.

before the invasion, everything was super colourful. bright fabrics and expensive clothing were the norm. after the war, there was an economic downfall, which led to people being more resourceful.

they supply jewelry for the whole of the wintersea republic, and have the largest coal mines. (southlight has the second biggest.)

they already had a low population before the invasion, and it was severely affected by the war. because of this, having children is a societal expectation, and to be unmarried with no children is rare.

travelling through the states is rare, apart from prosper and great wolfrarce because they boarder each other. it's a popular holiday site, and young rich women often move to great wolfrarce to get married.
