It's interesting the way Interior Chinatown uses Lana's mixed race heritage and dissect the social expectations that come with that identity within the meta police procedural network television lense,
They don't do too much with it explicitly, because in this season she is relegated to a minor protagonist, a role that is made abundantly clear within the text of the show itself both with her relationship to the "main character" detectives within the in-universe TV show Black & White and within the overall story of Willis uncovering the mystery of his brother, but here's the interesting thing they do about Lana being relegated to the role of minor protagonist, the show connects that aspect of her character directly to her mixed race heritage
The show has Lana state that she hopped from job to job, filled every little but fairly important role that was available, something a pretty ethnically ambiguous actress would make a career off of, one or two line roles where she plays a nurse or a waitress or a secretary or a paralegal or a mechanic etc. etc. until she lands the first "big role" of her life becoming a "guest star" rather than a featured extra
Lana being mixed race opens more doors for her in the figurative meta sense of the real life film industry's racism which features into the in-universe storytelling about how in a show called Black & White Willis was never going to be the hero, and with the added layer of Lana not being from Chinatown, instead being a mixed race transplant, it puts her at odds with the insular Chinatown community, already rife with distrust, secrets, and tragic mysteries that she is not a part of, an outsider with a key desperately trying to fit in with the crowd, all culminating together into the moment when Uncle Wong tells her she'll never truly be able to understand the Chinatown community because she's mixed
In that moment the show uses the insular community of Chinatown to represent the nonmixed community that still faces the full brunt of white supremacy and racial profiling along with the clear economic disadvantages the people of Chinatown have compared to Lana whose relative privilege over the community she's trying to convince the police force she is the face of has allowed her to escape the same economic distress and pigeonhole stereotypes they must all occupy within an American copaganda police procedural
It's not that Lana can't claim her Chinese heritage or that she can't be a member of the Chinatown community, it's that she has a certain type of privilege that others her from the community in a way that is not her fault and that she cannot change, in some ways it's on the community itself to recognize that even if Lana is mixed that doesn't stop her from being a part of the Chinatown community, but there is something about how the first half of Lana's arc starts with her claiming to be the Chinatown expert and yet it doesn't even seem as though she lives there, using her privilege to open the doors to the new career of detective becoming a piece within the system that currently oppresses Chinatown in the vain hope to be the "change from within" with characters constantly calling her out on the fact that she knows nothing about Chinatown and then the back half of her arc is Lana working at Uncle Wong's restaurant, the same restaurant Willis worked at, that's literally at the heart of the community's deepest secrets, taking on the role of the lowest employee, a busboy, getting called out by Uncle Wong himself on her privilege and how even if she's working in Chinatown now she still hasn't proven to the community that she can be trusted to use her privilege in their favor rather than self servingly surrendering to the system she used to be a part of, it's a classic "you have to be redeemed from being a cop by working food service" kind of redemption arc
The show didn't have too much time to go into the explicit implications of Lana being mixed race and how that affects her character's interactions with the rest of the world around her given that the first season was only ten episodes and they had a lot of other stuff to be more explicit about and in a way leaving Lana's mixed race heritage and the social implications of the privilege that comes along with it in the subtextual aspects of her character being able to blend like a chameleon and reach higher levels of success than those who weren't mixed race with only a singular line pointing out the fact that her being mixed is the main thing that alienates her from the community of Chinatown was the better choice narratively speaking, it might go over a lot of the viewers heads, but it's there for people who want to go digging

Broke: The reason Yomi is such an asshole is because he is a mental delusional narcissist sociopath schizo psycho . Which is proven by him Acting Weird and also being evil. He had no agency he was just mentally ill which is why he should be tortured to death because nothing else will fix his melted brain
Woke: The reason Yomi is such an asshole is because of the conscious actions he himself chose to take which was made possible by his unreasonable amounts of power and influence disproportionate to his actual competence
Bespoke: Discussions of only Yomi's character just in and off itself focusing only on how he is the unique evil in the whole of Kanai Ward miss the point severely by attributing the faults of an entire huge company and government which have been consistently screwing the city over since a very long time to just a single guy. While he is definitely a part of it, it is incredibly annoying to see him be treated as the sole reason as to why everything bad ever happened in Kanai Ward, when it was countless other factors too before he even entered the picture five years ago in-game
Stroke: The reason Yomi is such an asshole is because many years ago an immortal sentient fungus crawled into his brain and started speaking to him like Venom. None of his actions are actually his own it's the spores taking control of his nervous system and using him as their homunculus flesh puppet
Karaoke: Yomi was never an asshole Yuma just made all that shit up for attention. He's an unreliable narrator and was purposefully overdramatic in his recollection of events so people would feel bad for him
Artichoke: The reason Yomi is such an asshole is because he was just pretending to be one and was just pulling a really big prank on the Master Detectives. All of Kanai Ward were in on the joke and just acting like they were upset
Oversmoke: The reason Yomi is such an asshole is because he is not a real person Makoto made him up for shits and giggles. All the times we've seen Yomi in the game was just Makoto changing clothes and moving really fast which is why it looked like they were different people but they were not
Coke: The reason Yomi is such an asshole is because he was written that way

burning, burning
my gift for @pyreneese for this year’s @dnsecretsanta!! five times Light thought about how much he hated L, and one time he didn’t.
Lawlight enemies to lovers! Featuring: hatesex, light’s praise kink, L’s Kira kink, and a good old fashioned rain scene.
rated E, 3k words
ao3 link
1.
“Kill me now, Kira! Do it! Kill me!”
Light gaped at the TV. How dare he taunt Kira! How dare he make Kira look weak!
“So now I know there are people you can’t kill… I really didn’t expect my plan to go so well. Kira, it’s not long until I catch you.”
No. Light was not going to let L catch him. Light was going to catch L first!
L would pay for this trick. Light would find him and Light would stop him! Light would show the world that Kira, not L, was truly justice!
He thought of the dead man, the sacrificial lamb, except lambs were innocent and that man already deserved to die. Lind L. Tailor had been an attractive man, who looked every bit the image of a brilliant detective. How funny, the way appearances could deceive.
Did L know that Kira needed a face to kill? Had he purposefully chosen a stand-in who looked different from him, or had he barely given it a second thought? L’s voice was thoroughly obscured by his distortion, masking any accent that may have given Light a hint about his location or origins. Was he Japanese as well? Or American, perhaps? Was his hair dark and shiny, or blond and sunny, or a fiery red?
Light would find a way to learn the truth. L was cautious, but no security system was without its faults. Light had access to the NPA’s system, and he could hack into Interpol with enough time and practice. He would find the detective’s name and face, and he would finish him. His heart burned with righteous anger.
2.
Light slammed his desk. “Dammit! He played me like a fool!”
He had never imagined that L would just come out and introduce himself like that. He was backed into a corner now. There was no way “Hideki Ryuga” was his real name, and he couldn’t try to kill him without either killing the actor or raising suspicion.
Was that even the real L at all? He looked nothing like what Light had imagined. His only resemblance to Lind L. Tailor was in his hair color. He lacked any of the smoothness, any of the grace that had made Lind L. Tailor look so competent. He looked like a stray cat that someone had picked up off the street and turned into a man. He looked like a sentient pipe cleaner. He looked like the personification of insomnia in a horror manga. He did not look at all like a brilliant detective.
It would be just like L to send a decoy. He’d already tried it once before, after all. But why would he send a decoy so repulsive and so strange? Why wouldn’t he send someone attractive? No, there would be nothing to gain from sending a false L who looked like that. Light could only conclude this was the real detective.
So now he had met his rival face to face. He had looked into the eyes of the man he had to kill. The rage in his chest burned brighter and stronger.
What next? Would L follow him to class? Ask him to study together? Appear at his door? He had to act fast, he had to come up with a plan.
No, it wasn’t enough just to kill L. He had to defeat L, bring him to his knees, make him beg for mercy, only to deny him. He needed the world to know that Kira reigned supreme, that Kira alone served justice. He needed to dominate L through and through.
3.
Light gasped as L slid another finger inside him.
“Relax, Light-kun. You’re doing an excellent job.”
L’s hands moved surely, confident. He had evidently done this many times before. Light hoped his own lack of experience was not equally obvious.
He still hated L. He hated L’s fixation with his supposed guilt, when he knew for a fact that he was innocent. He hated the way L chewed messily and spoke with his mouth full. He hated the way L’s beady eyes never seemed to blink. He hated the stupid way L held paper in his limp wrists.
L’s fingers brushed his prostate and Light let out a pathetic whine.
“Good boy, Light-kun. You’re being so well behaved for me.”
He hated, hated the way L’s smooth voice praised him! It made him shiver, it made him twitch against his will.
He hoped this was enough to prove his innocence. Surely Kira would never have approached L and suggested a sexual encounter. Surely Kira would never have agreed to be penetrated. Kira wanted to be in control, Kira wanted all the power, so why would Kira ever agree to be vulnerable like this?
Kira would not be whimpering and moaning as L stretched him wide open.
With his free hand, L stroked Light’s face. “Still feeling okay?” Light nodded, swallowing another moan. He looked up at L.
“You’re taking my fingers so well. Such a good student, such a good bottom. You’ll be ready for my dick in no time at all.”
“I’m ready now, Ryuzaki!” Yes, yes, this would make him seem even less suspicious. Kira would never blurt out something like that! Kira would remain nonchalant, Kira would remain in control.
L smiled. “Don’t be so impatient, Light-kun. I’m a lot bigger than two fingers.”
He leaned down and planted a kiss on Light’s forehead. How patronizing. Light was perfectly capable of taking a dick up his ass! He didn’t need to be pampered! Light reached up and pulled L’s face back down to his and kissed him, hard, on the mouth.
After a few seconds, L kissed back, tongue probing every crevice of Light’s mouth as his fingers continued to explore Light’s hole. Light felt his body shake against the dual sensations. It wasn’t fair that L was this good at sex as well as being so smart and hot.
Wait, what? L wasn’t hot. He was ugly and weird. He was too pale and his eye bags were too dark and he never -
“Getting distracted, Light-kun?” L’s breath kissed Light’s cheek. “Are you thinking about who you should kill off next?”
“I am not. I am not a murderer, I have never killed anyone in my life!”
“Mmm. If you say so.” L brought his lips back over Light’s before he could think of a retort. Light shut his eyes and did his best to focus on the moment. He had to look like he was enjoying it. He had to focus on being the best bottom L had ever had the pleasure of meeting.
Afterwards, as they cleaned up, he wondered what on earth had come over him.
4.
“Ryuzaki, check this out! Look at how much Yotsuba has grown compared to its competitors.”
L rested his hand on Light’s shoulder, bringing his face in close. Too close. Light could feel his hot, sugary breath on his cheek.
“Light-kun…”
“Are you feeling less depressed now?”
L watched in rapt fascination as Light showed off the list of Yotsuba’s victims. His hand creeped across Light’s shoulder till it spanned to the other side and their faces were nearly touching. Light felt extremely grateful that his dad was not in the building.
“This is excellent work, Light-kun. I’m so proud of you for figuring all of this out.”
Light’s face grew hot. “Thank you, Ryuzaki. I started by looking at all the heart attack victims in recent months, and I noticed the pattern pretty fast.”
“How clever. I dare say your powers of deduction outpace some grown men I’ve worked with before.”
His spine was beginning to tingle traitorously. He had to stay focused on the data.
L’s hand wandered upwards, tangling Light’s hair. Ugh, now he would have to fix it. L had no respect for his morning routine of gelling and styling. Just another reason to hate him. Even if he did think Light was doing a good job, and even if he did know how to hit all of Light’s most sensitive spots. None of that mattered. He still thought Light was a murderer, he was still Light’s biggest enemy.
L stood, tugging Light up by his hair. “Come, let’s share your findings with the rest of the team. Print out your charts.”
Light and L settled in on a sofa opposite Matsuda and Aizawa.
“We have a new lead to investigate. It appears that Kira is connected to the Yotsuba group. I must thank Yagami-kun for his keen eye and investigative diligence. He did a very good job organizing all of this data.”
His stomach ached. He could feel the blood pooling. What twisted game was L playing now?
Light smiled brightly. “Of course, Ryuzaki!”
“We will have to be very careful moving forwards. Even without Kira, Yotsuba is highly powerful and dangerous. But I have no doubt that Yagami-kun and his sharp mind will be able to help me with overcoming their defenses. He really is quite clever.”
Light crossed his legs cautiously. Surely the others had noticed how oddly Ryuzaki was speaking. He could not let them guess the effect it was having.
Aizawa nodded. “I understand. I can look into how Yotsuba is organized.”
“Excellent. Yagami-kun, do you believe you could hack into Yotsuba’s computer system? It is my impression that you are also very talented when it comes to computers.”
“Yeah, I can try my best!” It was becoming unbearable. What more could L possibly have to say?
“Let’s get to work. Yagami-san will be back soon.”
Light stood a bit too eagerly, the chain growing taut for a moment before L caught up. He absolutely had to stay ahead of the others.
As they peeled away from Aizawa, Light asked, “Ryuzaki, could I stop by the bathroom?”
“Of course, Light-kun.” It was a short walk. As Light reached for the doorknob, L added, “I really am impressed with your hard work on this case. You’ve done a very, very good job.”
His hand brushed Light’s lower back and Light yelped and turned around. “What are you playing at, Ryuzaki? Why sing my praises to the rest of the Task Force?”
L leaned in, brushing a wet fingertip across Light’s chin. “I simply think it’s important to make sure Light-kun knows he’s being a good boy.”
Light’s face burned brighter than ever. He stumbled backwards, scrabbling for the handle. He needed to get away from L, right now.
“What seems to be the matter, Light-kun? Is there something I could do to help improve your focus?”
Light slammed the door open, stumbling further. “Do whatever you want. You’re the boss.”
He leaned back against the cold, hard bathroom wall as L’s fingers worked his fly open. What was the matter with him? Why did he care if L thought he was doing a good job? He hated L. He hated the way the detective’s words squirmed into his brain.
He hated how good L’s mouth felt around his cock.
5.
For a man who had spent the past two months pounding Light into the mattress, L was a shockingly eager bottom. Light had him naked and pinned to the bed in minutes.
It felt good to be in control. It felt good to have his mind and body realigned. It felt good to finally get retribution for all those nights he’d let L make a fool out of him in bed.
He hadn’t even taken his clothes off, and already L was hard. Light smirked. “So you spend all that time in charge, and all you really want is for someone else to tell you what to do?”
“It’s a nice change of pace, yes.”
Light glared. “Did I ask for you to respond?” He shoved L’s wrists harder against the bed.
“You asked a direct question, so I simply assumed-”
“Stop it. I should’ve known you’d be such a brat.”
L obliged, puffing out his cheeks to show how closed his mouth was. His cock twitched against Light’s pants.
“If you can’t control yourself, I guess I’ll just have to shut you up.” Light released L’s hands and moved to unzip his pants.
“Can I-”
“No.” Light freed his cock, let it hang above L. He watched his huge dark eyes travel up and down the shaft. His first time viewing from this angle. “Open wide.”
Light’s cock fit perfectly into L’s mouth, as always. L instinctively began to suck, began to roll his tongue around on the head, and for a moment Light forgot himself.
All that cherry stem tying had certainly paid off.
Light was not here to let L take over again. Light was here to put L in his place. He began thrusting deep into L’s throat, pounding out some soft whimpers.
“You like that, huh? You like how it feels to be totally at my mercy?”
L mumbled something completely incoherent. Light ignored him and sped up. It felt good to be using L, to be the one setting the pace. L’s mouth was a vessel for Light’s arousal, his tongue just a toy to rut against. He may as well have been a mindless doll for all Light cared.
Finally, Light reached his peak. His cock twitched, spilling down L’s throat. He grabbed L’s hair, kept his face fixed firmly in place, high on the euphoria of control. It didn’t matter whether L wanted to swallow. Light was giving him no choice.
L swallowed eagerly, cleaning Light’s tip with his tongue. As Light pulled back, he murmured, “You taste good, Kira.”
Light started. He wanted to be mad, he wanted to punish L, but he felt his breath catch in his throat, his spine beginning to tingle. He glanced down L’s body, confirming his suspicions.
He rested his hand around L’s neck. “What was that?”
L blinked up at him, eyes wide and innocent. “I said, you taste good, Kira.”
Light applied a gentle pleasure. “All this time, and you still think so lowly of me? You still think I can kill?”
“I don’t just think so, I know it. I am 100% certain that you were the first Kira, and what’s more, that you are again.”
“Really.” He rubbed a leg against L’s erection, eliciting a delicious whimper. “And yet you’ve given me total control. Do you like being in danger, Ryuzaki?”
“It certainly makes things more interesting.”
Light pressed harder. “Are there still no cameras in this room?”
“That’s correct.”
“I could kill you here, right now, and no one would ever know. I could kill you and take the Death Note and no one could stop me. How does that make you feel, Ryuzaki?”
L’s cock twitched against Light’s leg. He needed to take his pants off to feel it fully, but he couldn’t stop now.
“L,” he gasped. “Call me L.”
“Answer the question, L.”
L closed his eyes, struggling for breath against Light’s hand. Light pushed even harder. He felt his erection already starting to return, much, much faster than it ever had before.
“I feel… extremely pleased, Kira.”

“What are you doing, Ryuzaki?” Light held up his hand in an attempt to keep the rain off his face. He felt his shirt growing saturated and heavy.
“Oh, nothing in particular. It’s just… the sound of the bell has been awfully loud today.” L glanced off into the distance. Light could see nothing through the layers of rain, and he couldn’t hear any bells at all.
“I don’t hear anything.”
“Really? You can’t hear it? It’s been ringing non-stop all day. I find it very distracting. I wonder if it’s a church. Maybe a wedding, or perhaps a…” He trailed off, leaving the rest unsaid.
A wedding. Something L would never live to see, if Light got his way. The next time L entered a church, it would be in a casket.
A heart attack wouldn’t leave lasting marks on his face. He would look as though he was simply sleeping, though he never slept that long. Light imagined what it would be like to look down upon his corpse, to feel victory singing through his veins.
He had been fighting for this moment for so long. He was so close, he could practically taste it.
And his mind began to wander. His vision of L’s corpse was replaced by L’s naked body stretched out below him, L moaning Kira! over and over as Light fucked him. L lying there, exhausted, gasping for breath. L smiling up at Light, watching him leave without a goodbye.
Light could see the bruises around his neck, peeking out from his collar. The mortician would cover them with concealer, he was sure.
Would his eyebags be allowed to remain on his corpse? Or would those be brushed away as well? He imagined L with clear skin and shuddered. It was wrong.
What was he thinking? He had spent the past year on this journey, and now he was at victory’s doorstep.
L spoke. “Tell me, Light, from the moment you were born, has there ever been a point where you’ve actually told the truth?”
The rain roared against the roof. It cast a curtain over L’s face. One might even say a funeral shroud.
Light hesitated, looked away. Thought of a million ways to report. No one is honest all the time, of course. Everyone lies. Maybe Light lied more than others, but always in self defense.
That wasn’t what L meant. They both knew that.
L’s body collapsing to the floor. The life draining from his eyes. L’s body in a casket. A headstone - what would the name say?
L falling to his knees. L writhing in pleasure. L begging Light to hurt him more.
“This is excellent work, Light-kun. I’m so proud of you for figuring all of this out.”
L’s casual touches, hand on his shoulder, hand on his thigh. L’s breath in his ear. The warmth of L’s body in their shared bed.
Light looked up. Met L’s eyes. Stepped closer, moved his hand from his face, rain be damned, to cup L’s chin.
L had fucked Light until he was completely drained, hardly able to move, staggering around the next day. Light had strangled L till he was wheezing, gasping, practically dead already. They had taken each other’s flesh between their teeth. They had dashed their tongues together like a ship wrecking itself on a rocky shore.
They had never shared a gentle kiss.
L tasted like sugar and strawberries.
“Of course I’ve lied. I’m a liar just like you.” He stared into L’s eyes. “That’s why you love me more than you fear me. And that’s why I love you more than winning this game.”

Note
forgive me if this ask sounds kinda self deprecating and maybe kinda uhhh "self-stigmatizing"? kinda still new and haven't gotten rid of internalized sanism yet. but at the same time i'm also not sure if there's a limit to your confession box and i'm lowkey kinda expecting to be criticized for what i'm about to confess dkdhdjdj
i recently realized that i rank people in my internal hierarchy by intelligence. this hits me badly because my values are big on disability justice and moral-wise i believe intelligence shouldn't be something seen as inherently bad because, and i mean this neutrally, it's just another aspect of someone and shouldn't really be considered a factor that makes it valid to make someone be treated badly.
so outwardly i act on that value. and try my best to treat everyone the same way, even if deep down my opinion of people do differ based on how smart i perceive them to be. i make it a point to be "down to earth" despite being known as smart. looking back, i think i intentionally built that image because i was already well-known as smart in school, so i thought i might as well make myself the "good" kind of smart. cause you know. you bring more praise to yourself if you present yourself as humble and nice to everyone, patient to people less smart than you and don't make people feel stupid for not knowing something you consider basic. i feel like i myself spiral if people criticize me or consider me very wrong about something and i feel really humiliated. i think i kinda thought everyone feels that way and did my best to not make people feel that way, which heavily influences the way i treat people less knowledgeable than me, and the way i answer questions. i pride myself in being able to adjust how i explain things to people in a way this specific person would understand. i guess while there's the nice motivation of not wanting people to feel horrible if they don't know something, i also feel good if i manage to successfully explain things in an understandable way. people say it's the real sign of intelligence. so yeah.
so i was thriving for quite some years. my need for supply and ego boost was consistently met, so i was pretty "stable". i was the pinacle of "morally good and humble smart person". it went on until life happened and things took a turn for the worse.
now, i believe i'm pretty knowledgeable about stuff. i personally do not believe any of the bad things that happened to me were my fault. there's only so much people can do to not encounter a shitty path in life when the world is objectively shitty, y'know? people like to believe you can avoid shitty paths in life if only you do this and that correctly. if only you learned the signs of bad things so you can detect and avoid them.
well. what if all paths available to you, as a multiply marginalized person, have obvious shit consequences? literally all of them. even if i knew i chose the path with least amount of damage possible, it was still a lot of damages. there simply was no available path that would allow me small enough damage that wouldn't change my life for the worse.
during this change in life was where things started to change, and i started to realize something was going on. people, including those i considered close friends, started viewing me differently. either they start thinking i picked the wrong choices in life and went on a tangent about how i should have done this or that, or they don't but it's obvious from their words that they believe it's something i did wrong instead of understanding that it's a systemic issue. and the ones who do understand that it's a systemic issue started treating me with... pity.
this triggers narc crashes a lot. i, someone who was so used to being at the top of the social hierarchy in temrs of intelligence, got dumped at the bottom of it. i keep having this urge to lash out and yell "i'm not stupid, goddamnit! just see what you would have done if you all lose all your privileges and find yourselves in my position! with my specific lack of privileges! if even i have this bad luck, none of you would have fared better! you all would actually fare even worse in my position! stop looking at me like i'm stupid! stop pitying me! i am still the same person you once knew there's no reason to demote me!"
up until here i didn't really realize the extent of my narcissism. it was until someone i deem as stupid, but open minded enough to be my main vent space, also started being like that. before realizing i might be a narcissist, i simply thought i trusted them as an open minded friend whom i can trust. now, i realized that i only ever saw them as my most consistent ego boost and supply fuel. they're stupid. i'm smart. they listen to all my infodumps and fuel me with the feeling of being a smart person who explains things well.
but even smart people have their own blind sides. it starts with one of those blind areas. both of us basically know nothing. i myself doubt my knowledge a lot on things i don't have extensive knowledge in, knowing how rampant misinformation is. it's like, if i were someone with zero knowledge in psychology, i would be wary of just confidently asserting that narcissists are all abusive, even if it's spouted as the common knowledge, because my experience in the other fields i'm knowledgeable about knows that there are a lot of stuff that the common people who studies things in surface level tends to believe and makes them think they know a lot about something, even if their knowledge is wrong? yeah, it's that. dunning kruger type of stuff.
basically something like that happened. let's just pretend that the "knowledge" that "narcissists are all abusive" are much more widespread and it's expected everyone knows about that, not just psychology "enthusiasts", and you'd be considered stupid if you don't know it. that's what this person did to me. even though it's not that i've never heard of this "knowledge", i just didn't want to confidently assert that it's the truth because i know a lot of "common knowledge" are misinformations that get spread a lot to the point the average people started believing them uncritically.
i was furious. this lower person whose only purpose is to fuel my ego of being a smart person. how dare they act like they know better than me, when actually they're the one who don't know shit? especially when later, after i did a deeper dive into the topic, i found out that i was right to not confidently assert that that factoid was the truth? and they were wrong? how dare you act like i'm the stupid one when you're the one who mindlessly believes the same lie everyone has been told and i'm the one who's critical enough to actually do a deeper dive into the topic?
this wasn't just about one or two things. it piled up. until i eventually got grossed out by them acting as if we're close friends (even though before narcissism realization i also thought we were close friends). it's like. my brain is screaming, "you're not equal to me. how fucking dare you treat me as an equal. you're lower than me."
and even though they were pretty accomodating to me regarding stuff, i started feeling disgusted. i had a very bad narc crash because of all the things before, and their accomodations that i used to accept started feeling derogatory.
you're lower than me. how dare you act as if you're doing me a favor? "don't feel guilty to ask for what you need!" who told you i feel guilty? you're lower than me. i feel zero guilt for asking for favors from you. i don't want your pity. i don't want your reassurances. i am higher than you. it's obvious and expected that you should bow and do everything i expect you to. the only thing i'm concerned about when asking for accomodations (from everyone, not just them) is what's gonna be the price for it. i do not believe in unconditional accomodations. not even because i think people aren't nice or something, but there's only so much accomodations and help you can offer individually without the systemic issues being fixed, yeah? people have their own boundaries and if i'm not mindful of them, they would get resentful and i'm the one who will suffer the consequences of the resentment.
anyway, long story short, i got so disgusted and pissed off with all of those i ghosted everyone and fully stopped interacting with anyone i know irl (yes it's possible with my circumstances, i have finished all my educations and i don't make income by using irl identity). everyone irl has gotten demoted to the lowest hierarchy that my brain deems none of them as deserving to know the truth and all about why i cut off contact with everyone and basically disappeared. but the worst is the ego supply "friend". a good person maybe will try explaining instead of going the drastic route. not me though. an inferior person has zero right to be provided an explanation. i don't give a shit. they crossed the line (they did not. i just have a "shitty" brain).
and i am absolutely still experiencing the consequences of no longer having irl friends and solely relying on online interactions but eh. whatever i guess.

Common Electrical Issues That a High-Quality Current Transformer Can Prevent
Tumblr media
In today’s fast-paced industrial world, electrical reliability is more crucial than ever. A small error in current measurement can lead to serious system failures, downtime, and costly repairs. This is where high-quality current transformers (CTs) make a huge difference. But what exactly can a superior CT prevent? Let’s dive in.
What Is a Current Transformer?
A current transformer (CT) is an essential device used to measure alternating current (AC) by producing a scaled-down, manageable current for meters, relays, and other instruments. It enables safe monitoring and accurate metering in high-voltage environments, protecting both equipment and personnel.
Common Electrical Problems a High-Quality CT Can Prevent
1. Overloading and Equipment Failure
Problem: Without accurate current measurement, systems can easily become overloaded, causing motors, transformers, and cables to overheat.
How a CT Helps: A precision CT ensures real-time, reliable current monitoring. It detects overcurrent conditions immediately, allowing protective relays to trip and prevent expensive equipment damage.
2. Inaccurate Energy Billing
Problem: Incorrect current readings can lead to wrong billing, causing businesses to either overpay for energy or face disputes with utilities.
How a CT Helps: High-accuracy CTs provide precise energy data for billing and cost allocation, especially critical in commercial complexes, factories, and power plants.
3. Protection Relay Malfunction
Problem: If a CT delivers incorrect signals, protection relays may not operate during faults, leading to extended damage and system blackouts.
How a CT Helps: Reliable CTs ensure protection relays receive the correct fault current levels, enabling fast and accurate circuit isolation.
4. Short Circuits Going Undetected
Problem: A minor fault can escalate into a full-blown short circuit if the protection system doesn’t detect it early.
How a CT Helps: Quality CTs capture even small fault currents, triggering alarms or shutdowns before damage spirals out of control.
5. Phase Imbalance Issues
Problem: Imbalanced phases cause excessive heating, motor inefficiency, and damage to sensitive equipment.
How a CT Helps: High-precision CTs monitor each phase accurately, enabling detection of phase unbalance conditions early and preventing system inefficiencies.
6. Harmonic Distortions and Power Quality Problems
Problem: Harmonic distortions interfere with the performance of sensitive equipment and reduce the overall power quality.
How a CT Helps: Specialized CTs can detect abnormal waveform distortions, enabling corrective action through harmonic filtering or load balancing.
Why Invest in a High-Quality Current Transformer?
Accuracy: Achieve metering-class precision essential for both billing and protection. Durability: Longer lifespan even in harsh industrial environments. Safety: Better insulation, thermal stability, and overload capacity. Compliance: Meets international standards like IEC and ANSI.

Overwhelming presence
Monitoring space is a complicated task due to the literal cosmic scale of the undertaking. However, security is paramount, all species learn this in their own histories, thus technology and methods to effectively keep track of most relevant objects in space has been thoroughly developed.
The (relatively) simplest and most commonly used is the Quantum Web - a series of micro-satellites dotted around a star system, each maintain a large field of quantum-entangled particles and relay any changes within it in real time to all associated monitoring stations. The primary method is by detecting changes in energy levels, as simple physical displacement often clutters the feed with random asteroids and debris, or other objects of non-sapient origin.
As the United Federation and the Galactic Coalition are in a bit of a... tense stage in their relationship at the moment, the bordering Neutral Zone is heavily monitored by Federation agents, especially all systems close to where they have deployed their Battle Moon.
One day, a Federation monitor was returning from a short break to notice something off about the readout. There were many big bright white dots moving quickly within the Neutral Zone. They had never seen anything like that before. Normally all readings are color coded based on known ship or station designs and typical power outputs throughout said vessel.
The flow of energy throughout a vessel is sort of a fingerprint in a way. If you zoom in on the readout, and if the Quantum Web field is saturated enough, you can sometimes make out individual power generators and consumers.
This was something else. Going closer just made the whole projection go white, as if the thing was hundreds of kilometers in every direction, but that couldn't be. First, even the Battle Moon doesn't produce an image like that and it is literally a 340km large moon. And second, these dots - spheres more accurately - seem to overlap constantly. Logically, this must be an error of some kind.
What was not logical is when those bright lights came up to relative physical viewing distance of the hidden monitoring station. Letting curiosity get the better of them, the Federation agent pointed a telescope where this "error" should be.
There was nothing there. Just an error then. Feeling relieved even though they didn't think they were nervous to begin with, they set about filing a report on the situation and requesting maintenance support. As they were about to finalize all necessary paperwork, an open channel hail pinged them.
"Hey there, is anyone out here? We, uhh, messed up and wiped our navcom, so we're kinda lost here. Could someone please send over a copy of the local system chart? We'd be real grateful if you also didn't tell our parents about this, okay? Like, we can trade for something, like Mick's fancy guitar" "Hey!" "What? You don't play, your dad just gave it to you cuz you randomly said you wanted one while high."
Taking a quick glance at the projector and comm-observer, the agent stopped. The messages were coming from those bright lights. Rushing back to the telescope, they quickly zeroed in on their location and found three small apparently custom built space craft of unknown design.
As the trio of ships kept sending out random conversations among the clearly young civilians on board, the agent maintained total silence. Not long after, a Coalition military scout craft appeared on the projector in the expected yellow energy pattern, confirming that the Quantum Web was functioning without fault.
Throughout the ensuing conversation and reprimand, they learned that the three ships belonged to Humans, a species very recently integrated into the Coalition. Little investigation had been done on them so far, mainly as they are quite far away and only reside within a single system.
So the question stands - what kind of energy signature would produce such a massive bright light? it couldn't be a ruse. You can't "trick" a quantum-entangled particle. Maybe... There are ancient anecdotes of true fusion reactors - miniature stars - but no, nobody utilizes that, it's far too dangerous and difficult just to contain let alone exploit.
No one in their right mind would use literal stars right next to them. Right?

Does Sustainability Go Hand in Hand with Technology and the Global Shift to Electric Power?
Explore how Sustainability Next to Technology is Connected to Global Move Towards Electric Power.
The new generation of moving the world towards cleaner energy has electric power at the core of this transformation.
But do they, sustainability and technology, indeed go hand in hand?
Well, it’s no longer a hypothetical question, but a problem that determines the future path of power distribution and energy management.
Growing Demand for Sustainable Solutions:
Not long ago, the dream of electric power turned into a reality before you know it.
Cleaner has become a key aspiration of governments, industries, and consumers alike.
Sustainability imparts a different meaning to reducing carbon footprints.
This also means making power systems smarter and less dangerous, more efficient, cost-effective, and probably even creating a bit of redundancy.
This will mean purchasing components for the switchgear industry that reduce energy waste, extend life cycles, and facilitate the interfacing of renewable sources.
Energy-efficient circuit breakers, digital monitoring systems, modular switchgear components, and other accessories are becoming key players in the evolution.
Smart Technology: The Backbone of Sustainable Switchgear
The way the whole change in switchgear technology moves is, of course, toward modernization.
IoT-type embedded devices for monitoring, AI-driven prediction of maintenance needs, and design for energy-efficient low-voltage contactors all transform the way the whole power is managed.
It ensures reduced energy losses and very much optimized peak condition behavior, as well as improved safety-all these fulfilling both sustainability and day-to-day operating efficiency objectives.
1. Digital Monitoring and Automation
It is all about real-time data.
Smart monitoring solutions provide instant access to information regarding the efficiency of the use of electricity, fault detection, and energy efficiency.
With this, downtime and failures incurred can be minimized, and energy consumption can be optimized-thus, saving unnecessary wastages of electricity.
2. Modular and Recyclable Components
Energy efficiency doesn’t only mean sustainability as far as power is concerned-it also has to do with waste.
Adaptive switchgear designs allow easy upgrades and replacements, which can prolong the life cycle of an electrical system while simultaneously reducing the amount of waste made for materials.
Adoption of recyclable and non-toxic materials in accessories for switchgear also minimizes environmental impact.
3. Energy-Efficient Contactors and Circuit Breakers
New advanced low-loss contactor and circuit breaker technologies, which increase energy efficiency, cut down heat dissipation and losses in the circuits.
Fewer losses in energy mean low operating costs and a reduced carbon footprint; these are the two main factors that are becoming crucial for today’s modern companies striving to meet sustainability goals.
Switchgear Accessories to Play a Critical Role in the Green Revolution
It is only through highly competent switchgear accessories that a truly sustainable power infrastructure may be realized: from low-voltage surge protectors that ensure a longer life for the system to biodegradable insulation materials, the right kind of components would all play their part in making a difference.
Eco friendly insulation: Using sustainable materials in insulation applications reduces the negative impacts on the environment while maintaining the safety and efficiency associated with conventional insulation types.
Adaptive Protection Relays: These help to ensure the stability of power and eliminate the breakdowns, thus eliminating the costs of frequent replacement and repairs.
Using Busbar Systems to Reduce Energy Losses: The more efficient a conductor is, the less its resistance and heat loss, and the better it transmits energy.
Balancing Innovation and Cost with Performance
In fact, the passage from several manufacturers and traders is the perception that sustainability involves more costs.
But in reality, such first costs are outweighed by very many long-term benefits.
The merger of lower maintenance costs, lower periodicity recall for new replacement pieces, and greater shelf life compliance does make sustainable switchgear a smart business choice.
Conclusion: The Future of Sustainable Energy
Technology and sustainability aren’t separate paths any longer; they’re bearing down more on a linear convergence as the world flows into a different shape concerning energy.
Change is a space that we all own.
The future is here-now!

NASA space station research helps power moon science
-The International Space Station supports a wide range of scientific activities, from looking out at our universe to breakthroughs in medical research, and is an active proving ground for technology for future moon exploration missions and beyond.
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost Mission-1 landed on the moon on March 2, 2025, kicking off science and technology operations on the surface, including three experiments either tested on or enabled by space station research. These projects are helping scientists study space weather, navigation, and computer performance in space— knowledge crucial for future moon missions.
One of the experiments, the Lunar Environment Heliospheric X-ray Imager (LEXI), is a small telescope designed to study the Earth's magnetic environment and its interaction with the solar wind. Like the Neutron star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) telescope mounted outside of the space station, LEXI observes X-ray sources.
LEXI and NICER observed the same X-ray star to calibrate LEXI's instrument and better analyze the X-rays emitted from Earth's upper atmosphere, which is LEXI's primary target. LEXI's study of the interaction between the solar wind and Earth's protective magnetosphere could help researchers develop methods to safeguard future space infrastructure and understand how this boundary responds to space weather.
Other researchers sent the Radiation Tolerant Computer System (RadPC) to the moon to test how computers can recover from radiation-related faults. Before RadPC flew on Blue Ghost, researchers tested a radiation tolerant computer on the space station and developed an algorithm to detect potential hardware faults and prevent critical failures.
RadPC aims to demonstrate computer resilience in the moon's radiation environment. The computer can gauge its own health in real time, and RadPC can identify a faulty location and repair it in the background as needed. Insights from this investigation could improve computer hardware for future deep-space missions.
In addition, the Lunar Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Receiver Experiment (LuGRE) located on the lunar surface has officially received a GNSS signal at the farthest distance from Earth, the same signals that on Earth are used for navigation on everything from smartphones to airplanes.
Aboard the International Space Station, Navigation and Communication Testbed (NAVCOM) has been testing a backup system to Earth's GNSS using ground stations as an alternative method for lunar navigation where GNSS signals may have limitations. Bridging existing systems with emerging lunar-specific navigation solutions could help shape how spacecraft navigate the moon on future missions.
The International Space Station serves as an important testbed for research conducted on missions like Blue Ghost and continues to lay the foundation for technologies of the future.
