I also would like people to give more appreciation to the great thematic unity in all of The Lord of the Rings. The idea is “do what good you can with what you are given.” Usually your abilities and your chances seem horribly small, even though your responsibility is so enormous. The minutes, the little decisions, the days, the small towns, the small characters, matter the most. The fate of the whole big world of good and evil and languages and races and heroes and villains all hangs on what’s done by a little scholar and his gardener.

ig another annoying thing about the 'this transcends language 😲😱' comments about the most obvious of cognates and literal english loanwords, is that it's another example of how native english speakers (and, by virtue of their population size, mostly USamericans) are the arbiters of what gets seen as 'universal' vs what's weird and foreign on the anglophone internet. cause to me as a dutch speaker, a lot of german compound words would '''transcend language''' - but the tweets that go viral about those kinds of words are about how they're silly little nonsense words to laugh at, can't be a real language, can you believe anyone speaks that!

“#and dont even get me started on earthmix” what happened with em 👀

What happened with EarthMix is that they’ve been out of the spotlight for so long they’ve forgotten how to pretend like they aren’t actually dating 💀 Or maybe they’re just using FK as their metric for how platonic besties are supposed to act and, welp, they’re probably not the best couple to choose for that.

During the press tour for Ossan’s Love, Earth and Mix were very open about the fact that they’ve been living together while Earth’s house is being “renovated” but they must have gotten too much unwanted attention from that because a few weeks later Earth pretended to move back home. Except…he didn’t?

Yesterday, Mix posted a picture of the two of them watching Ossan’s Love together at his house and you can clearly see Earth’s collectible dolls sitting on the TV stand. You can see his Big Ben photograph hanging on the wall. Two totally normal things to just be chilling at your bestie’s house. Where you definitely don’t live.

And then there was their stint on High Season. The entire time EarthMix were there, there wasn’t a camera in their bedroom even though there was one in all the others. Instead, there was a camera just outside of it, which honestly wouldn’t have been suspicious except for the fact that on the day EM moved out, OffGun moved in, and suddenly there was a camera! (The mattresses on the floor also moved a much more respectable distance away from each other.)

And that’s just things that have happened in the past week! EarthMix are such an intriguing pair for me because although I can delulu with the best of them, at some point it starts to feel like I’m infringing on their privacy even though these are all things they’ve willingly shared. Like when Earth accidentally called Mix “ter” on the Macau fanday vlog that was released a few days ago, my first response was “I don’t think I was supposed to hear that.” Poor Earth wasn’t built for secrets. Mix tries to rein him in but I do wonder how long they’re realistically going to be able to hide it because they seem to have stopped trying.

I will always be standing by my words that Eito is the reaping of what humanity has sown. His tragic existence morphing into weaponizing his fear and hatred is the consequence of society's actions long before he was even born. Since the primary reason he hates humanity is because of his acknowledgement of humans building their history upon violence and death, his beliefs cannot be shaken or swayed easily. He is the embodiment of cruel punishment that humanity is trying to run from after causing World Death. He is all of humanity's Pyramid Head.

It's absolutely upsetting that it has to be that way, but he was born into the role of a necessary evil when the Earth couldn't take care of the problem itself. It hurts so bad, but if it wasn't him, it was going to be somebody else taking up the mantle eventually. A shame it had to be someone who would've had so much genuine love in his heart if it weren't for that curse.
