Vanilla Perfume - Nam-Gyu x Reader (NSFW)
Follow up piece to:
Outside Looking In In the Bleak Midwinter Without You Looking Up Fatherly Disdain
Synopsis: The scent of your new perfume drives Nam-Gyu wild.
A/N: For anyone who regularly reads my work, you might have noticed that vanilla scented perfume crops up a lot. It’s because vanilla is my absolute favourite scent in the world. I have vanilla scented everything: perfume, body spray, body lotion, body wash, candles, even a plug vanilla scented reed diffuser! I recently treated myself to the Lush Vanilla perfume (can highly recommend) and the scent reminds me of freshly baked, warm cookies, which gave me the idea for this fic.
Nam-Gyu loved it when you wore perfume. You owned so many, the dainty glass bottles littered throughout the apartment. The bathroom cabinets were filled with perfume and body spray of every scent imaginable. Your favourite ones took pride of place atop your chest of drawers, and Nam-Gyu would often admire the way the sun reflected off the glass, removing the lid to inhale the scents he now associated with you. You had a perfume for every mood, and he was now able to predict your emotions depending on which scent you used.
His favourite one by far, however, was your vanilla perfume. The sweet, rich aroma reminded him of warm, freshly baked cookies, the smell enveloping him in the most comforting of hugs. He couldn’t resist you whenever you sprayed it, latching on to you like a lovesick puppy as he breathed you in.
“I can’t help it,” he’d whimper when you lovingly tried to push him away, his body draped over yours making it so hard to accomplish even the smallest of tasks. You intoxicated him, and Nam-Gyu could never get enough.
You’d worn the vanilla perfume today, the smell lingering in the apartment long after you’d left for work. The rich, warm tones encircled him for hours, the smell clinging to the very particles in the air. It made him long for you, made him wish he could wrap himself around your body and have you hold him close. as the day dragged on, so did his thoughts of you, his daydreams quickly changing from ones of comfort, to visions of making love to you. Your perfume was sweet, almost as sweet as the whimpers that fell from your lips as he fucked you, and Nam-Gyu was practically climbing the walls by the time you got home.
“So needy tonight,” you teased, taking his face between your hands and pressing soft kisses to his lips. You could feel his arousal pressing against your thigh, evidence of just how much he’d missed you. “I need you,” he grunted, his lips trailing down across your cheek, along your jawline and neck. He took a deep breath in, inhaling your scent as his hands fumbled with the buttons of your blouse. “What’s got you so riled up?” you smiled, leaning your head back as Nam-Gyu’s lips continued their descent down your body. “That fucking vanilla perfume,” he growled, unclasping your bra with ease as he took your nipple gently between his teeth.
You moaned as he gently bit down, a small smile spreading across your face as his tongued soothed the tingling bite. You knew Nam-Gyu couldn’t resist you when you wore this perfume. It was why you’d sprayed it before you left, knowing the lingering scent would drive him crazy. You knew he’d be desperate for you when you got home, knew he’d fuck you hard and fast, his whimpering little moans like music to your ears.
“Do you want me?” you whispered, your warm breath sending tingles from his earlobe down to his toes. His shivered against you, his cock straining at his jeans as he nodded fervently against you. “Yes,” he groaned, bringing your hand down to the bulge in his jeans. The moan he evicted when you ever so gently ran your hands along his length was animalistic, igniting the fire deep within your belly. “Show me,” you breathed. “Show me how badly you want me.”
Nam-Gyu didn’t need telling twice. Sweeping you up in his arms, he placed you atop the kitchen counter, his hands working feverishly to remove your clothes. You were already so wet for him, he unwavering desire for you driving you crazy. Parting your legs, his ran his fingers through your slick folds, his mouth pressing the softest kisses to your vanilla scented skin. As he slid his fingers inside of you, he was rewarded with your guttural moan, smiling softly to himself as your jaw slackened.
Your tight walls gripped his digits as his thumb slowly circled your clit, your moans filling the tiny expanse of your kitchen. “I need you,” your desire to tease completely eradicated by the need to have him claim you. “Please,” you begged, “I need all of you.”
Nam-Gyu couldn’t deny you, not when his own pleasure pulsed painfully against the denim of his jeans. He removed his clothes, his aching cock standing to attention as he took in the sight of your dripping core, the neediness and desperation so clear in your bright, beautiful eyes.
The stretch of your walls as he entered you was enough to take your breath away, the sensation always overwhelming, no matter how many times he fucked you. He clung to you, his fingers gripping your shoulders with a force you knew would leave bruises behind as he thrust into you.
He buried his head in the soft crook of your neck as he fucked you on the countertop, your legs wrapped round his waist as you begged him to go harder, to fuck you faster. “Always so fucking needy,” he grunted, pulling you closer and he thrust into you, hitting a spot that no one else had ever been able to reach.
You could feel yourself getting close, could feel the beginnings of aching ecstasy spreading through your body. “So close,” you whimpered, reaching down to hold his fingers against your clit, urging him on as he continued to stroke your sensitive numb. “Right there,” you whispered, your toes curling as you reached the brink. “So good.”
With a shuddering groan, you came apart for him, your walls contracting blissfully around his cock, bringing forth his own release. Nam-Gyu spiled himself inside of you, fucking you until he was sure you’d taken every last drop of him.
You drove him wild, drove him crazy in the best way possible. Your skin was glowing as you pulled him close, your eyes filled with a fucked-out, blissful haze as your lips met his.
“That goddamn perfume,” he smiled against your skin.

Tales From The Housekeeper [Extra Drabble]
story summary: Your best friend lets you crash at her place over the spring break since you have nowhere else to go. Little did you know that it isn't actually her place. Instead, it belongs to a tall (grumpy) hot guy who finds you in his apartment–her brother.
an: despite never being seen, the developing relationship between you and Kento has been witnessed up close. Mrs McGarden has been Nanami's cleaner for many years and she knows in her heart what is happening within the walls of the apartment... a little diary that I thought was a fun idea.
warning: none, SFW, fluff and humour
Series Masterlist

𝓜𝓻𝓼 𝓜𝓬𝓖𝓪𝓻𝓭𝓮𝓷’𝓼 𝓒𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓛𝓸𝓰
𝓒𝓵𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓝𝓪𝓶𝓮: Nanami Kento
𝓟𝓻𝓲𝓸𝓻𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓮𝓼: general tidying, kitchen deep cleaned once a week and trash to be removed, vacuum and mop every other day, windows on a Friday, ad hoc jobs as and when
𝓒𝓵𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓝𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓼: very polite, young professional man, values his privacy, has a younger sister who has been known to visit unexpectedly (she has her own key for the door, keycard for the elevator and the passcodes), sister aside it is unusual for others to be visiting. Enjoys homemade bread and good coffee (reminder to bring by baked goods every now and then – especially banana bread and caramel pecan muffins)
𝓢𝓬𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓼: steer clear of anything overly floral, prefers subtle scents that evoke a sense of cleanliness, use Tom Ford Ébène Fumé reed diffuser in the master bedroom
𝓜𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓪𝔂
No incidents to report. Apartment was empty on entry. Kitchen deep cleaned, skirting boards and cupboard doors included. Trash emptied. Took receipt of laundered items – left on master bed as requested. Replaced diffusers in living room and both bathrooms.
𝓣𝓾𝓮𝓼𝓭𝓪𝔂
Strange phone call from Miss Nanami, client’s younger sister. I… I don’t know how to feel about it all. Over the years of my employment, I have grown very fond of Mr Nanami and whilst I do not see him most of the times I am here, on the occasions we do cross paths, he is always courteous and easy to converse with. That being said, I am not sure if I wish to be a part of the scheme she has proposed. I will have to think on it this evening, perhaps I will run it past Mr McGarden to see what he thinks of it all…
Oh, before I forget. No other incidents to report. Linens from the beds stripped and remade with new sheets. All floors hoovered or mopped as planned. Plants watered.
𝓦𝓮𝓭𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓭𝓪𝔂
I don’t know if my conscious will hold out, but I have decided that I could not ignore the plight of Miss Karin’s friend. What kind of woman would I be if I were not to allow a young woman a safe place to stay? I’ll be honest, Miss Karin was extremely persuasive… she would make an excellent lawyer. All I have to do is act oblivious if asked, which should not be a problem given the upcoming business trip. It might be nice to have a feminine presence in the apartment, and I can remove all trace of her before Mr Nanami returns, of that I am certain.
One broken coffee mug (I expect my clumsiness was a result of my slightly frayed nerves) and I have left a note with the promise of replacing it. Couch cushions fluffed, blankets refolded and the ceiling fan and other hard to reach areas dusted. Counters sprayed down with disinfectant. List made for tomorrow – operation deep clean.
𝓣𝓱𝓾𝓻𝓼𝓭𝓪𝔂
If I listed everything here it would take me an age. Suffice it to say the apartment is spotless, and I have left a Tupperware box of fruit scones for Mr Nanami to take away with him on his trip (my guilty conscious acting again and Mr McGarden was rather upset that there were no leftovers for him). Funny that I didn’t see his luggage out of the closet yet, perhaps he is packing last minute. I am both nervous and excited. I feel like a co-conspirator of some awful heist!
𝓕𝓻𝓲𝓭𝓪𝔂
I am a nervous wreck… I barely slept last night and found myself starting work far earlier than normal simply because I couldn’t relax. All last-minute details straightened out. Mr Nanami had left for work or the airport by the time I arrived. Unusually there were some leftovers from the previous evening left out – a crystal tumbler with a hint of whisky in the bottom and a bowl with the stems of grapes. It’s not like him to not pick up after himself but maybe he was in a rush. I left as quickly as I could, not wishing to startle the poor girl who would be staying in the apartment. This is going to be fine, right? Oh, dear lord, what have I let myself in for…
𝓜𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓪𝔂
If I avoid being fired it will be a miracle. From what I’ve heard there was a mix-up and now Mr Nanami knows of his sister’s scheme and apparently, she might have thrown me under the bus too. I will be having words with her as soon as she deems to answer my calls, the little madam. I caught the barest glimpse of the guest this morning as she was heading into her room, she smiled and I got the sense that despite the confusion, she is happy to be here.
Mr Nanami, on the other hand, had less to say to me than I thought. He asked if I had known about Miss Karin’s plan and I couldn’t play dumb, not under his gaze. The man can be intimidating without really trying and I hope to goodness he hasn’t scared the poor woman. Rather than react with anger, he simply tightened his jaw and gave a firm nod. There is something different about him, I’m not sure what makes me say that, call it woman’s intuition. I am on reduced hours until his guest leaves and I can only hope he doesn’t reconsider my offer of resignation. I really would miss him as a client.
𝓣𝓱𝓾𝓻𝓼𝓭𝓪𝔂
There is something brewing here, I can feel it. What I claimed as woman’s intuition is now so much more. Mr Nanami is more relaxed than I have ever seen him, and he wears it well. It is nice to see him looking less tired, his eyes are brighter, and I would swear he smiles more frequently. His companion is doing wonders for his mood and no wonder, she is such a lovely young thing. Very intelligent, witty, and most importantly, she doesn’t let anyone walk over her. We have chatted once or twice but only for a minute. I like her, and I don’t believe I am alone in that sentiment.
I keep forgetting to detail my tasks, I would forget my head if it weren’t screwed on as Mr McGarden likes to remind me. Linens changed. Laundry ordered for collection on Monday morning. Floors cleaned. Mug replaced from last week. Plants watered and pruned.
𝓜𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓪𝔂
Oh, my days. I don’t know what to think. The atmosphere continues to change every time I visit. Today it seems the two of them have ventured to the National Museum together. Would one consider that a date? Maybe I am reading into things too much. Too many Mills and Boon novels in my nightstand. He deserves happiness. Money can only afford so much. I’ve worked for Mr Nanami long enough to want to see him settle and be happy. I dare not get my hopes up but it’s impossible when I witness these furtive little glances between them. It’s also rather funny how they seem to fall silent whenever I am within earshot. It reminds me of my courting days…
Living area straightened, a dog-eared book found down the side of the couch cushions, and I doubt it belongs to Mr Nanami. His bookshelves are stuffed full, but each book is in pristine, unread condition. The man simply does not have time for reading. Maybe they will change. Floors cleaned. I can’t help but notice that the apartment feels far more lived in than it ever has. Diffuser changed in the master bedroom.
𝓦𝓮𝓭𝓷𝓮𝓼𝓭𝓪𝔂
She left. I don’t know what else to say. The apartment is a mess, well, as messy as I’ve ever seen it. Decorative ribbon on the living room floor, a half empty bottle of whisky on the kitchen island, two mugs unused but set out… Mr Nanami refuses to speak to me, refuses to even meet my eye. I’d take it for anger if I didn’t know better. There is guilt in his gaze. Whatever happened yesterday, he won’t be drawn on the matter. I’ve thought to call Miss Karin but is it my place? Never have I seen the man so dishevelled and utterly miserable. I suspect he hasn’t bathed as I can smell the lingering alcohol when he slouches past. I don’t like this. I should have never meddled in his affairs. Just when I thought he might have found someone to brighten his days… oh, it’s such a mess.
Kitchen disinfected, dishwasher emptied and reloaded. Living area tidied except for the ribbon which I dare not touch. Bedrooms… the guest room is barren and sad. Mr Nanami prevented me from stripping the linens, in fact, he practically shooed me from the room. Bathrooms cleaned. There is a lump in my throat as I write this. I wish I had never been a part of any of this, not when it has seemingly ended so disastrously. What shall I do? I suppose that nothing would be the best answer, it is not my business to meddle in.
𝓕𝓻𝓲𝓭𝓪𝔂
No one was home. I worry that Mr Nanami is not eating, there is very little trash and no leftovers in the fridge. I couldn’t help but peek inside the bedroom next to his and I found it exactly as it had been the last time I was here. The sheets are made but the ruffles show the clear form of a body huddled atop the bed. I’m not sure if it’s from the poor girl or if Mr Nanami has taken to sleeping in here. A sadness remains and I’ve taken to completing my tasks as quickly as possible to escape the gloom. If things have not improved over the weekend… perhaps I can offer a friendly ear? I doubt he would accept the offer, but I can’t continue on like this and feeling partly responsible.
Windows washed. Floors cleaned. Empty liquor bottles taken out for recycling… he never normally drinks this heavily.
𝓜𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓪𝔂
I was running late today, and of all the days to fall behind. It must be serendipitous! The key was barely in the lock when my phone rang from the depths of my bag. Lo and behold… Miss Karin had finally returned my calls. I was halfway through giving her a mouthful when she cut me off with seven words that I will remember for years to come.
He left work to go find her.
I’m in shock. Never have I known Mr Nanami to leave work before the day was done. In fact, he often worked far later than he needed to just to stay ahead of the competition. There was something in Miss Karin’s voice, I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but she knows more than she was letting on. I could have cried on the spot.
Linens changed although I have again left the guest bedroom. Kitchen deep cleaned. Plants watered and pruned. Dusting done. I took the liberty of baking some bread whilst I was here. The sun was long down by the time I left. I guess I lingered in the hopes of maybe seeing them both, but it wasn’t to be. There is hope in my heart once more and I will nurture it. Mr McGarden picked me up this evening and listened to me on the drive home. He told me about a saying from the country he was born and raised in… ‘whits fur ye’ll no go by ye’, which means what is for you will not go by you and I believe that in my heart.
There will be a happy ending, or I will eat my hat!

Hey again! Hope you don’t mind me asking another question. So I was wondering what are your must haves for when building a house? Like lights, specific furniture pieces that are your go to or something like that if that makes sense? Thanks! ❤️🫶
I went a little rouge when it came to answering this ask - there are SO many items of cc I love and so many creators that create amazing content, it’s hard to sit and list to every single thing.
I figured it would be best to showcase cc I use frequently within my builds; it helps to highlight which creators cc I tend to use most!

Create a *Luxurious* Atmosphere at Home on a Budget

Decluttering and deep cleaning are fantastic starting points for creating a luxurious atmosphere on a budget. Here are some ideas:
Declutter for Tranquility:
Focus on Surfaces: Clear surfaces like countertops, tables, and shelves. This creates a sense of calm and allows decorative items to shine.
Embrace Storage Solutions: Invest in stylish baskets, bins, and ottomans with storage compartments to keep clutter at bay.
Elevate Everyday Activities:
Upgrade Your Tea Ritual: Invest in a beautiful teapot and teacups, even if it's just one set for special occasions. Fresh flowers or a sprig of rosemary adds a touch of elegance.
The Power of Scent: Scented candles are great, but explore diffusers with reeds or essential oils for a longer-lasting fragrance.
Luxurious Touches in the Kitchen: Use a beautiful tray for your morning coffee or breakfast. Invest in a stylish soap dispenser and attractive containers for dry goods like coffee beans or flour.
Beyond the Basics:
DIY Decor: Hit thrift stores and flea markets for unique finds. Repurpose old furniture with a fresh coat of paint or new hardware.
Bring in Nature: Houseplants not only purify the air but add a touch of life and serenity.
Warm Lighting: Harsh overhead lighting can feel sterile. Invest in some strategically placed lamps with warm bulbs. String lights or fairy lights can add a touch of magic, especially for evenings.
Classic Touches: Choose neutral tones for walls and large furniture pieces. This creates a timeless foundation you can personalize with pops of color and trendy accents.
Remember, luxury isn't just about expensive things, it's about creating a space that feels inviting, comfortable, and reflects your personality. By focusing on thoughtful touches and creating a serene environment, you can achieve a luxurious atmosphere in your home without breaking the bank.

Sunday 26th January
Put real clothes on and washed my hair to meet my friend to have a mooch around the shops

Got some bargains! Makeup for £5 - it's just the 'skin tint cream' and I usually get foundation but I tried it out and it's good! Got my shower gel and conditioner refilled. Got some reed diffusers to keep for next Christmas - I'm turning into my nanna. But idec they were like £2 each? Usually £6-7? They're good stocking fillers so I've put them away, they will be handy to bulk presents out.

Got this ADORABLE plant pot that I just couldn't resist

And a lil whale - I found it in the kitchen section of TKMaxx so I assume it's meant to be for salt but I've repurposed it as a soap dish. Ours was too small and everything kept falling off, and also it was a teabag holder, not a soap dish 😂

Also found the cutest water bottle

Matt keeps leaving his at the hospital and by the time he goes back to the same ward to look for them they're gone. So I keep having to donate mine to him but I'm keeping this one!
Dropped my friend home, had a bath, now waiting on baked potatoes & beans for dinner. Happy Sunday 🫶
#fitblr#personal#health blog#fitness blog#health#fitness#sunday#haul#treats#i spent a lot today but it really was all stuff I needed other than the plant pot#little things

The One Behind the Shadows

pairing: suna rintarou x fem!reader
tags: fluff, broken eng, the reader is described as loving bread, self-indulgence.

In the past few weeks you've been receiving shipments of snacks and sometimes medicine. It's not uncommon for Suna to notice someone hanging a plastic bag over your fence. If you want to be honest, you're very curious about people who always deliver snacks. So after sending your last speech bubble to Suna, you immediately picked up your cardigan behind the door and went downstairs to the front door. You're hoping the person who's been sending you a snack and some sore throat medicine hasn't left your house.
But when you open the door in front of you, all you see is Suna covered in his black hoodie and a hand carrying a bag of snacks. Confused, that's how you feel right now. Suna smiled slightly with one hand on his nape. "Hi," greets Suna to you who is still confused.
"Huh... Where is that person? What is that?" you asked with your index finger pointing at a plastic bag full of snacks in Suna's hand.
Suna raised one hand, moving his index finger to your forehead, giving a slight push to his index finger. "Take a guess."
You try to untangle all the tangled threads in your head, connecting each incident one by one. You looked at Suna and the white plastic bag in his hand alternately, until finally you were able to untangle and find the end of the tangled threads in your head. "Could it be that you've always been the one giving me all that?" Suna nodded in response to your question.
"Why? Why did you do all that?" you asked again with your head slightly tilted, making you look adorable in Suna's eyes.
"Let me come in or at least sit down first, can't meet you at the door like this, can i?" After that, you invite Suna to enter your house. Suna sat in the living room, while you went to the kitchen to get drinks for the two of you, and followed Suna into the living room.
"Okay, now, explain. Why did you bother giving everything in secret, when you could just give it to me directly," you said firmly.
"I'm doing all this because... I don't know, I just want to do this. Lately I always feel unprepared every time I want to meet you, maybe you could say I'm nervous. I'm also afraid of you rejecting all the things I give, that's why I did all this," explained Suna.
The lavender scent from the reed diffuser on the living room table made Suna remember the days when he secretly hung plastic bags filled with food, snacks, drinks, and even medicine to relieve your sore throats at the gate of your house.
Day 1, January 2 2022
Suna, who had just returned from the studio after meeting with his friends, saw a bakery, he decided to stop by that shop. There, Suna bought a portion of bread because suddenly he remembered you, you really like bread, he even remembered your favorite flavor, namely chocolate cheese.
Wrapped in his black hoodie, Suna secretly hung a plastic bag filled with bread at the gate of your house, and immediately rushed home. Then he sent you a message saying, 'I saw someone dropping food at the gate of your house earlier'. The message was sent solely so that you would check outside to pick up the plastic bag he was hanging.
Day 2, 08 January 2022
From the balcony of his room, Suna saw you who had been pacing around in your own room. Suna, who was curious, decided to ask you. After getting the answer, he took the initiative to go to the minimarket, buy 3 boxes of milk to give you as a substitute for coffee, this is because you are allergic to coffee.
Suna also didn't forget to insert a sticky note on the 3 milk boxes. 'Don't drink coffee, just drink this.' That's more or less the message written on the sticky note.
Again and again, Suna quickly and secretly hung a plastic bag containing 3 cartons of milk on the fence of your house, this time he pressed your doorbell so that the owner of the house came out to get the shopping bags.
Day 3, 12 January 2022
You are a cheerful person and also talk a lot, but today you are quieter than usual, which makes dozens— even thousands of question marks pop up in Suna's head. He wonders why you're not as cheerful as usual. Taking his cellphone which was on the table, Suna decided to send you a chat bubble which said, 'Why are you staying quiet all day? Usually, you're talkative'.
Not long after, an incoming message appeared in the notification, the message was from you. The message said, 'I can't, I can't talk. My throat hurts'. After reading the message, Suna immediately ordered uber to ask for sore throat relief candy to be bought and sent to your address. Don't forget, he also told the uber he ordered to insert a sticky note that said 'Get well soon' with a heart symbol at the end of the sentence.
Not long after, the uber ordered by Suna reported that the package had been received by a young man with slightly pink hair. Suna knew for sure that it was your little brother who had received the package from him.
"Rinnnn," you called, bringing Suna back to his consciousness.
"Why?"
"You didn't hear what I said, did you? I asked you earlier, why are you nervous? Even though before you were normal," you repeated because Suna apparently didn't hear your question.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm nervous because I like you." A second later, your face immediately turned red like a crab that had just been boiled. You were silent in a thousand words, didn't know how to respond to Suna's words, what you knew now was that your heart was beating quite fast due to the sentence said by Suna. You immediately turned your attention to something else when you felt your face starting to heat up, then you used both hands to cover your increasingly red face. "Seriously, don't joke like this!" you shouted at Suna.
"I'm serious, not joking. I really liked you from the moment we met. You're the reason I always come to your flower shop."
"Okay, I understand. Don't talk yet, shut up. My heart can't stand it anymore, it feels like it's going to sink to my knees!" You panicked because your heart was beating faster when Suna continued his sentence.
Suna obeyed your words, although it wasn't long before he spoke again. "I'm not forcing you to answer now, but... I want us to go to the next level together, I want us to make our own journey."
You, who had started to calm down a little, turned your body to face Suna, your hand grabbed Suna's big hand. Your thumb gently stroked the back of Suna's hand. "You didn't ask me to answer now, but I want to answer now. Let's make our own journey, Rin, I cherish you too," you replied to Suna. Without warning, Suna immediately pulled you into his warm embrace.

That night, the sound made by Suna's heartbeat became a beautiful melody for you.

What was the last thing you ate and why? We had Bonchon for dinner. We've basically booked food delivery the entirety of the last 7 days because we're having the entire first floor renovated, rendering it impossible to do anything that involves the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Totally not complaining – I can enjoy takeout any time hahaha.
What was the last thing you drank and why? I've just had water today.
How many tabs do you have open and what are they? On this laptop, I only ever have Tumblr on. Later on though I might need to pull up Google Sheets since Reena and I are starting to plan for our June trip. First thing on the agenda is which Airbnb to pick, and I promised her I will be listing down all our top options so far so that we can narrow down the best pick based on which one offers the best accessibility + is nearest to the train station.
What browser do you prefer to use? I only ever use Chrome on my laptop; then on my phone I use Safari.
What’re five random things on your desk besides any computer-related items? A Koya mug that I've converted into a knickknack holder; A pen holder; The customized Parker pen that Dev got me for Christmas; Some scratch post-its I need to throw out; My lamp.
What room are you in right now? I'm just in my room.
What color are the walls and floor in that room? Walls are white, ceiling is white, floor is brown.
What’re the items closest to you that’re red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, gray, brown, black, silver and gold? Red: Egg chair Orange: My BTS Butter tin can in orange Yellow: My BTS Butter tin can...in yellow HAHA Green: A bucket hat Blue: Koya plushies Purple: My photocard binders Pink: Vape pen White: Besides the wall, the bottle of one of my reed diffusers Gray: The travel pouch that Gabie gave me as a Christmas gift Brown: My handbag Black: The TV Silver: This laptop Gold: My BTS Hot Brew Coffee bottles lol
Out of all the things you listed above, which is your favorite? My Koya plushies hihi :)
What kind of chair are you sitting in? I'm standing up while taking this so that I get a bit of exercise.
Where would you prefer to be right now? FRIDAY
Do you have any plans this weekend? My family will be in Bulacan the whole weekend for Seventeen's concert – I'm attending Day 1 and my sister will be in Day 2, so we went ahead and booked an Airbnb so that we won't need to go back and forth.
Are you excited for anything this month? ^ That! Also for Reena and me to continue building up our June plans :)
What’s the date today? January 13th but will be the 14th in 8 minutes and most likely by the time this is posted.
Is there anything special about today? Uh not really...it's just back to work, actually, since it's my first day back after having filed a leave for four consecutive days. I'll be out the rest of the Mondays and Fridays this month to make up for the absolute lack of leaves I filed in 2024.
How’re you physically feeling right now? I'm feeling quite refreshed and clean since I just did my skincare routine, and can't wait to jump into bed.
How’re you emotionally feeling right now? A bit excited, a bit jittery since all I've been thinking about is Hobi coming to Manila + our possible trip to Korea to see the boys reunite by June. HOW IS IT ALREADY BTS YEAR HOW ABOUT MY WALLET
Have you ever traveled outside of your home country? Yup.
Can you speak, read and/or write in another language besides English? Yessss. Oo kaya ko. Hahaha
What language course did you take in school, if any? I wasn't required to.
What language would you most like to learn? Would be cool to master Korean.
What grade are you in right now? I haven't been in school since 2020.
What would you like to get a degree in? I got my degree in journalism.
What was you dream job when you were a little kid? Firefighter or author/novelist.
What happened to that dream? Firefighter: It just fizzled out. Author: I realized I was shit at writing fiction, so I redirected my writing focus to essays, autobiographical accounts, etc.
Speaking of dreams, when was the last time you had a sleeping dream and what was it about? I probably have one or several every night but always forget what they consist of.
Do you have more nightmares or good dreams? They're usually...random. lol
Do you wake up a lot in the middle of the night? No, because I am usually awake in the middle of the night haha. I sleep for the whole of it though and wake up after 5-6 hours.
Can you sleep comfortably in another bed besides your own? The bed needs to feel comfy and absolutely clean for me to sleep just fine. If it feels rough or doesn't smell new, I will easily feel grossed out. For that reason I only ever get good sleep in hotels, haha.
What book are you reading, what genre is it and do you like it so far? I haven't been reading anything.
What genre of books do you like to read? Memoirs and essay collections.
Do you prefer physical books or a Kindle, Nook or other e-reader? Physical.
Did you ever sometimes flip through your text books even when you didn’t need to? I only did this with my history textbooks.
Have you ever ordered anything through a catalog? No.
Would you prefer to read a book, watch a movie or TV show, or play a video game? Watch something!
What’re five of your favorite TV shows? Breaking Bad, Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Queen of Tears, and so far House is also creeping up to be one of my new favorites.
How often would you say you watch TV? Everyday, but I never watch TV in the 'traditional' sense anymore. I use it to watch YouTube and other streaming apps.
What’s the last movie you watched at home, and what about at the theater? At home: Fellowship of the Ring Theater: Mufasa
Do you usually get popcorn or soda at the movie theater? I get powdered French fries.
What genre of films do you like the best? Drama never fails.
Do you like movies based off of books? Sure.
Do you like video games based off of movies? Not usually. Then again I'm not a big video game enthusiast so I'm not very knowledgable on this topic...
What was the last video game that you played? WWE 2K24.
What genre of video games do you enjoy the most? I dunno...the only one I'm remotely good at is Mario Kart, haha.
Which is your preferred video game system? Playstation.
Do you like playing online with other people? No.
How often would you say you play video games? RaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAArely.
Now that this survey’s done, what’re you going to do? Probably turn in! I'm excited to sleep lol; today's been a long one and I still have a meeting first thing tomorrow.

name: wen junhui date of birth: 10/06/1996 date moved in: 12/02/2018
When I stepped into his apartment, the first thing I caught was the scent of tobacco mixed with a dried out reed diffuser. I couldn't possibly say what the scent was, but something tells me it was earthy.
Speaking of tobacco, one of the first things I learned is that Junhui is a smoker. I'm not, so I declined his offer. He wasn't rude about it - he spared me a 'suit yourself' and just sat down on his leather three-seater.
I sat on the matching two-seater. Comfortable, but judging by the wear it was likely a few years old. The dried diffuser was on a side table pressed against the wall on the other side of the room. The kitchen was to my left and there was a pair of double doors that opened out to a balcony.
Junhui apologised to me for what the man from 4B wrote in his letter, though he admitted while he knew a note had been mentioned, he didn't believe the man actually went through with writing and leaving it. The second he heard me mention his apartment name, it twigged in an instant. "I should've known that bastard would actually do it. Like I said he's got a propensity for pissing me off."
He asked me why I came to the building, informing me that he saw me arrive from his apartment window, pointing to the set of double doors. I explained my reasoning and he seemed surprised.
"No one ever comes to Drawbridge. People just snap pictures from afar then run off to write bullshit about it." It didn't surprise me that the residents here knew of the reputation. He took more hits from his cigarette as he continued. "And you told me you were ready to turn and leave when you realised people lived here, but you picked up the phone."
He caught me with that. It is true that I had picked up the phone. I fell silent for a while as he studied my expression.
"I get why you did," he said, "you're a journalist at the end of the day. Like I said, I share your experience. I was a freelance journalist at one point. No matter what, we'll take any chance to get a story."
I couldn't believe I was sitting here, having this conversation. I did not expect to turn up to find out there were thirteen residents. I also didn't know at the time what was to come..
I told him, "I am not here to, as you said, 'drill holes in your walls'. In fact, I will be ready to leave after this conversation."
Junhui stared at me then. "I appreciate you not wanting to do that. Though I must admit, it might quell some rumours about this place.."
I raised an eyebrow. "And what of you trying to keep your solitude?"
"I can wish for solitude while wishing the reputation didn't exist."
That struck a chord. I wondered how many other residents here felt the same way. At the time, I considered I wouldn't be getting those perspectives.
"I suppose.. as long as you don't go ahead and make this whole situation public in the way only a journalist would-" He gave me a knowing look; I held back from rolling my eyes. "..Then I suppose I can tell you a little something, former journalist to current journalist."
I didn't know how to respond. Initially, I wasn't going to take him up on his offer, but I already felt that I'd made a vow.
I pulled out my journal, to which he smiled. It was rather frustrating in its smugness but.. it was clearly the smile of understanding.
'I share your experience.'
Details of note from our discussion:
junhui was the fifth person to move in
junhui took 6B as he felt it had the nicest kitchen
project drawbridge almost didn't go through
several investors were sceptical of its tenancy power
junhui doesn't know who lived in 7B
7A is the only person who knows about it (and he hasn't shared that info)
junhui doesn't get on well with 6A
junhui stopped being a journalist in 2021
3A doesn't talk to him because of his experience in journalism
people have made small efforts to remove the 'silent dweller' name from searches after learning what the project name is
3B was the last person to move in

Is air freshener a waste of money?
It depends on your goals, but in many cases, air fresheners can be a waste of money — especially if you're expecting them to improve air quality or solve odor problems long-term.
Here’s a breakdown to help you decide if they’re worth it for you:
💸 Why Air Fresheners Can Be a Waste of Money
❌ 1. They Mask, Not Fix
Most air fresheners cover up odors instead of removing them.
If there's mold, poor ventilation, or a smelly trash can, you’re just layering fragrance over the problem.
🧪 2. Synthetic Chemicals & Health Concerns
Many air fresheners release volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can irritate the lungs, especially in children, pets, and people with asthma.
Some contain phthalates, linked to hormone disruption.
💨 3. Short-Lived Effects
Sprays, gels, and plug-ins often last minutes to hours, not days.
You may end up constantly buying refills, which adds up.
💰 4. Recurring Cost
They're a consumable, meaning they require continuous spending with limited long-term value.
DIY or natural alternatives often cost less and last longer.
✅ When Air Fresheners Might Be Worth It
You want instant, temporary freshness for guests or events.
You live in a place where natural ventilation is limited.
You use natural or essential-oil-based air fresheners (e.g. reed diffusers or sprays).
You enjoy the mood-boosting effect of certain scents.
🌿 Better Alternatives
🧼 1. Clean the Source
Regular cleaning, taking out trash, and using baking soda to absorb odors work better long-term.
🌬️ 2. Ventilate Naturally
Open windows when possible.
Use exhaust fans in kitchens and bathrooms.
🌸 3. Natural DIY Options
Simmer pot with cinnamon, citrus peels, and cloves.
Essential oil diffusers
Baking soda + essential oil jar fresheners
Homemade incense or beeswax candles

Are you left with hands smelling like the food you just cooked? This lemongrass and lavender deodorizing soap tackles tough odours naturally! With a balanced blend of olive and coconut oil, your hands will feel soft and moisturized, left with only the bright and happy scent of lemongrass! I have a lemongrass natural reed diffuser in my bathroom right now, and it’s so strong I can smell it before I even reach the room! Lemongrass is known to be a scent “bully,” meaning it quickly takes over in blends. As you can imagine, it’s also wonderful at tackling unpleasant odours. I made this recipe for lemongrass deodorizing soap to help remove the garlic and onion smell from my hands after food prep. The lemongrass does not disappoint as it works hard to remove long-lasting, unwanted scents. Let me show you how to make your own batch. I coloured my soap with purple mica for a cheery pop of colour. What is Deodorizing Soap? You are certainly familiar with deodorizing soap for the shower to remove body odour. Most soap will do that job just fine, but sometimes you need a little extra power to remove odours that are clinging to your skin. A deodorizing soap helps to get rid of tough, lingering smells that stay on the skin after washing and drying. Scents on your hands after cooking can be difficult to remove. Sometimes, you can still smell these kitchen scents days later! Lemongrass is excellent at deodorizing and combatting these strong scents. For this soap, I also went ahead and added a hint of lavender to help balance the strong aroma. However, the scent is mild, with the long-lasting lemongrass scent taking charge. The oils in the soap are gentle on your skin, while the essential oils are tough on kitchen odours! Lemongrass is the dominating scent in this soap, but the lavender helps to add some balance. How to Make Lavender-Infused Oil Before we can start making this lemongrass soap, you will need to make your lavender-infused oil. Not only will the oil carry the lavender scent, but it will also absorb the relaxing and antibacterial properties of lavender. For this recipe, I recommend using dried lavender buds and leaves. I like to harvest my lavender right before the buds open as they will retain the fragrance best. Allow the buds to fully dry within 2-4 weeks. If you use fresh flowers and leaves, the oils will need to be used quickly as there is a higher chance of spoilage with fresh herbs. Allow the lavender to wilt and dry in a cool, dry place for 24 hours before you infuse it. Once you have your lavender ready, you can do one of two infusion methods: cold infusion or with heat. Infusing your oil is an optional step but I like to add herbal properties to all my soaps. Cold Infusion For cold infusion, you will want to pack your lavender in a jar from top to bottom. Pour olive oil into the jar and push down the lavender with a spoon to ensure that all the gaps are filled. All your buds and leaves need to be completely covered. Secure your jar with a lid and then set it in a dark place for 4-6 weeks. Once it is finished infusing, you will want to strain your lavender bits using a sieve and cheesecloth. Then, your oil is ready for use! Heat Infusion If time is not on your side, you can also infuse your lavender over the stovetop. To do so, grab a double boiler. Place an inch of water in the bottom pot. On top, heat your olive oil and lavender over medium-low. Like cold infusion, you want to make sure the oil completely covers all the lavender. After the oils have warmed up, set your heat to low and wait a couple of hours until the oil is aromatic. Strain your oil, and then it is ready for use. This recipe calls for 500 ml of lavender-infused oil, so ensure you infuse enough oil to make your deodorizing soap. Infuse your oils before making your soap. Lemongrass Lavender Deodorizing Soap Clean and bright, this lemongrass soap is formulated to tackle strong odours. Made with infused olive oil and coconut oil, it creates a nice lather that keeps hands well moisturized. The following instructions are meant for people who have made soap before. For more detailed instructions and photos on how to make cold-process soap, visit my post here. Materials Ingredients See recipe card for exact measurements For extra decoration, top off your soap with dried calendula petals. Make It! You are working with lye in this project, which can be dangerous. Before you get started, make sure to put on your safety gear. This includes goggles and work gloves. I also recommend you work in a well-ventilated area. Weigh Your Ingredients First, weigh all your ingredients. I recommend weighing using a kitchen scale for the most accurate measurements possible. Heat the Oils Using a double boiler, slowly heat your oils. You’ll need to use a thermometer and heat them until they reach a temperature of 115°F. Add Lye + Blend Add water to a 4-cup heat-resistant measuring cup. Slowly add your lye, stirring constantly until dissolved. Perform this step in a well-ventilated area and be careful not to breathe in the fumes. To cool the lye water, place it in an ice bath. When both the oil and lye water are at 115°F, slowly pour the lye water into the oils while blending with an immersion blender. Blend until you reach a light trace (the consistency of pudding). Add Essential Oils Add lemongrass and peppermint essential oils and stir them in. Add the Purple Color One of the most frequent questions I get asked about this soap is how to get that pretty purple colour! Thankfully, it’s simple. This soap has a layered look, so we’ll start with the natural, undyed soap. Pour out half of your uncolored soap into a silicone mould. Mix in calendula petals using a spatula, then smooth out the layer with the back of it. Lastly, spray the top with isopropyl alcohol. Now we’re ready to add purple! Add your purple mica powder to the remaining soap. Make sure to blend well using an immersion blender. Then, pour your purple-coloured soap on top of the first layer. Go slow and be careful to avoid any splatters! Smooth out this layer with a spatula, then sprinkle calendula petals on top for decoration. Allow the Deodorizing Soap to Dry and Cure To properly cure, you’ll first need to set the mould in a cardboard box. Add extra warmth by wrapping it with towels. Place it on top of a warm surface (like the top of a fridge) for 48 hours. After about 48 hours, unmold your soap carefully. Then, slice the soap into even bars. Place your soap on a wire rack and keep it stored in a cool, dark place to cure for six weeks. Then use and enjoy! Let your soap fully cure for six weeks before use. Deodorizing Soap FAQ How do I use deodorant soap? Many of my soaps are perfect for the bathroom sink or for the shower. While they also work great in the shower, I use this deodorant soap specifically for the many stinky and lingering scents that come with the kitchen. This recipe can also be used on the body after a good workout or other moments where body odour prevails. The formulation is gentle and moisturizing for your skin and will feel amazing in the shower as well. Why do I still smell after using soap? It can be pretty common to still be stinky in certain areas, like the armpits, even after showering. Bacteria like to hang out by sweat glands. To tackle strong odours, you can wash with a strong deodorizing soap, rinse, and then repeat to ensure you removed all the bacteria. More Soap Recipes to Try Lemongrass and Lavender Deodorizing Soap Clean bright, this lemongrass soap is formulated to tackle strong odours. Made with infused olive oil and coconut oil, it creates a nice lather all while keeping hands well moisturized. Before you get started, put on your safety gear including goggles and work gloves.Weight all your ingredients precisely on a scale.Using a double boiler, slowly heat your oils until they are the desired temperature of 115°F.Add water to a 4-cup heat-resistant measuring cup. Slowly add your lye, stirring constantly until dissolved.
