On a semi related note the more I am subjected to Microsoft products the more I become convinced that the reason so many people these days believe themselves to be “bad with computers” is that the programs they are forced to use in their professional life are utterly incomprehensible to ANY rational human being and they are (rightfully enough) extrapolating out that this is just how computers are. They aren't!!! In their quest to remove all the “scary” details from their poor fragile end users Microsoft have created an ecosystem that behaves completely erratically and unpredictably and is by definition unknowable. Things just happen. Then they stop happening. Nothing ever announces why or how. Just a thousand vague and useless popups that may or may not be there tomorrow. I PROMISE computers are actually extremely simple and logical beasts.

Feel like I can be useful for once and report on Drewniel activity that is somewhat recent. Daniel has accepted an award given by NBR and both Luca and Drew were there to present him. A friend of mine worked that event and told me that despite all the celebrities present (who likely knew Daniel?) Daniel had eyes literally only for Drew. He was guiding him everywhere, dragging him around, they went together to the bathroom too (during the break lol). My friend said Luca let them be by themselves but like... sort of as if he was giving them his approval in a way. I don't know how to explain it. Also Drew got very emotional during a part of his speech to introduce Daniel and when they all came down from the stage Daniel hugged him for a very long time (my friend at that point had noticed how close they were so she was locked in on their every move lol), wiped his tears, held his face, etc. etc. She is convinced they are having an affair and even asked me if she should text Deuxmoi (to which I said no). Since I saw the video of the speeches doing rounds, I thought of mentioning this! And I hope this is good news for you! You can post it.

sexy himbo jock interpretations of James Tiberius Kirk are silly and do a disservice to the character for a lot of reasons, not least of which is that it fundamentally ignores all the times in canon when Kirk is faced with a scientific discovery or oddity and you can see the effort it takes for him not to clap and skip with excitement. like in ‘the devil in the dark’ when Spock posits that they might be dealing with a silicon based life form and McCoy’s like “but that’s impossible!” and Kirk literally crosses the room to flirt talk excitedly with Spock about the prospect and how it could work! and what it would mean!

That feels so pointed because that is a very young age to stop going to confession - unless you’ve started to realise you’re different - that the church as been teaching you the things you’re feeling and realising about yourself are not ok according to their teachings and beliefs and the best and easiest way to avoid religious wrath, not look at yourself too closely and bury your feelings is to just stop going to confession (assuming he was still going to church with his parents as I can’t imagine they’d not have him go to church every Sunday at 10!)

what sort of a bullshite fantasy could an author write if they despise magic and think it is not real. it is absolutely real. math is real, and math is magic, as nobody is able to comprehend where has it come from or why. communication at our levels is magic. or lives are, too.

magic is how we explain the existing but inexplicable things.

this silly explanation gets our consciousness a well-deserved rest even if and when it wants to understand why are were not what are we (which it can study but still wont be able to answer, why)

understanding magic as a whoosh at the table in lieu of that, for it to appear a dinner is…

an understanding a fantasy author cannot afford really.

the author of a fantasy book must know realities of life in order to write fantasy—whilst they know whooshes aren't possible, the feel of the perception of magic definitely is present in all of us. denying that very much real, existing, lively feeling is a full equal of denying the existence of the trans folk or the intersex folk or asexual folk— any folk that cannot be comprehended by a small, isolated, poor brain.

a poor brain is prone to delusions. it wants to challenge the universe that somehow created so much forms of life on a single planet for unfathomable number of billions of years. it yells at a cloud that has seen civilisations fall and the birth of this planet for making it see incomprehensible people and to feel something it cant understand.

frankly i do not know why jкr is like this. she is a living rot of a human being: unempathetic twatwaffle who does not deserve a single cent or respect even for being another human. there are things that make people fall so low; to me, it's when they are this senile, and you might already know the next word i want to say about them: you give them a forever rest.

yet i think ignoring her is not a solution. she's a not a small figurine; she's a titan, and titans are fought to death, not left unseen in the dark; it is what i meant by the 'forever rest', however, i do not mean death as the one and only solution. i meant, 'so irrelevant that she is as good as dead'.

things I wish I could relive for the first time again:

that magical window where you finish a new piece of media, having watched/read it all by yourself with no fandom contact whatsoever, and you are just so happy about it, and full of interesting theories and takeaways, and just in love with it as a gorgeous piece of art.

because I swear to god as soon as you join the fandom for anything, you're bombarded with how you're supposed to view characters and their arcs, how you're supposed to morally and ethically judge the plot and the ways it apparently failed to present the right message, and if you don't you'll either be shunned for not sharing the popular headcanons or you'll be harassed for not criticizing the source material enough.

like how is it that the fans of a piece of media are also the ones being the most negative about it? If I like a show or a movie or a book, well, I liked it. That's kind of the point. I'm actually not here to tear it apart and talk about how it didn't live up to standards other people had! I enjoyed it for what it was, and forcing myself to find negative things to say about it doesn't actually bring me more enjoyment of it or reap any benefit to me. Fandom's a double-edged sword; you want to join a community to share your love for a piece of art, and the price you pay for a modicum of joy is a mountain of negativity. that's one main reason that I never engage with fandom until I'm completely done with a show, because if I was plugged into all of that commentary and discourse during the process, I'd be completely colored by how I'm expected to interpret everything this piece of art is presenting to me without being able to even form my own opinions.
