“If I have one message to give to the secular American people, it’s that the world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same.”
― Marjane Satrapi, Iranian graphic novelist

Adieu, adieu, mon joieulx souvenir

Is Israel secular?
Citizens of Israel are Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, Hindu, Sikh, atheist and agnostic, religious and secular, straight, gay, trans, and everything in between. Have you never been to Israel? Maybe go to Israekl and learn for yourself instead of asking dumb questions.

Anti-Choicers are so hypocritical they should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a group of people advocate in favor of killing people more than Anti-Choicers. When they’re not outright advocating for murdering people they disagree with all they do is complain about children receiving free school lunches and about how free healthcare shouldn’t be a thing because “muh tax dollars” yet will happily fork over some money to pay those Trump tariffs and are the most war hungry people on the planet.

I started with cellular automata and made a Sierpinski triangle. I tried to think of a way to turn it into a 3d object. This design naturally emerged. It happens to be a star of David, but I am not Jewish, I just think it looks cool.

Mike Johnson immediately introduces misinformation into the new Congress.
Mike Johnson read some kind of supposedly inspirational prayer upon being elected House speaker, but he inappropriately tried to claim that it was written by Thomas Jefferson, the historic figure so notoriously non-religious that he actually made a version of The Holy Bible that omitted all the miracles, superstitions, and mysticism - including The Resurrection.
The Jefferson Monticello - University of Virginia in Charlottesville - Research & Education - Thomas Jefferson Encyclopedia  - National Prayer for Peace (Spurious Quotations) Ultimately, it seems unlikely that Jefferson would have composed or delivered a public prayer of this sort. He considered religion a private matter, and when asked to recommend a national day of fasting and prayer, replied, "I consider the government of the US. as interdicted by the constitution from intermedling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises."[3]
My letter to my representative in the House:
I would be very careful about trusting the judgement and leadership of Mike Johnson considering he entered misinformation into the public record immediately upon being elected House speaker when he tried to claim that some prayer was written by Thomas Jefferson, the historic figure so notoriously non-religious that he actually made a version of The Holy Bible that deliberately omitted all miracles and mysticism, including The Resurrection! This lapse in judgement by Speaker Johnson, and his staff in not preventing such an embarrassing gaffe for a Christian, doesn’t really inspire confidence, does it.
Please feel free to copy or repurpose the contents of my letter for your own letters to reps.

Science is the secular religion of today and scientists are, in a very literal sense, the new priesthood. And it all began when Ben Franklin flew his kite in a thunderstorm in the crucial year of 1752.

My Unpopular Opinion about 'Deities' (mini vent:)
I strongly believe not all "gods" are healthy, infinite, benevolent, selfless, flawless, or all powerful who deserve special treatment just because of a human constructed status.
I treat anyone accordingly upon how they treat me, and you don't get respect unless you respect my space.
...
This is coming from someone who respects Anubis as a 'person' I connected with because he was respectful and mindful, and we just got along.
That being said, I don't believe in worship or even the concept of a "god" but just the status of celebrities.
From the ask box here and in metaphysical groups, I had too many people insisting to me that I should just bow down to them just because they're "gods." If I don't agree with them, a few tried to send these "gods" to smite me because I'm a non-believer.
You believing in a deity doesn't automatically make you better or special than other witches whom might be secular.
It makes me roll my eyes when I hear, "Gods are gods! You don't get to talk about them that way!"
The way I work, I need to get up and personal and not greet them ONLY because they're "gods/goddesses. But as people I just get along with.
I can understand some 'deities' are important in certain cultures that built it in the first place, but I just then see it as that -- culture/religion. Since I don't believe in the concept a 'god/goddess' I don't have to believe in their 'god/goddess', but I can still acknowledge what they got for it as strictly their culture.
...
I'm glad you adore what you do, and keep doing it if it gives you meaning and happiness. I respect what you're into at a healthy balance, as long as you respect mine. Please, everyone is different.
You wouldn't be any better as a proclaimed, radical Christian tried to shame you for not submitting to the Lord.
...
--
Edit:
I received a couple of threats just from this post alone in my ask box.
(One said she'll send Aphrodite to give me nightmares and sickness, while the other got really upset and threatened me with actual violence to change my mind)
If you are representing your "gods/goddesses" through how you're acting like a derelict -- I'm glad you have so much faith in your 'gods' to protect you, but nothing will shield you from the consequences of being an intolerant, toxic person. I'm sure they'll step aside and let things slip...unless the "god/goddess" is toxic themselves.
