When you aren't noble enough to be given an army to lead, you just have to use your COMMUNION abilities to assemble an ARMY OF ALTERNIAN BEASTS. Unfortunately, Eridan's constant BLIND RAGE tends to weaken his psychic abilities, allowing his CAPTIVE ANIMALS to break free of their control and ATTACK HIM. You have to give him credit though, despite all his failures, he's RELENTLESS in his pursuit of glory.

Eridan has a deep passion for HISTORICAL MILITARY FIGURES, attempting to imitate their exploits to the best of his abilities. He hones his mind via games like CHESS (LETHAL) and TRIVIA MURDER PARTY, one of Alternia's most POPULAR GAMESHOWS. He also enjoys CASUAL STROLLS ON HIS LUSUS, but he will hide this pastime with his life.

Eridan's MAHJONG Fetch Modus turns his inventory into a game of MAHJONG; in order to retrieve an item, two of its corresponding tiles must be removed from a small group of randomised piles. If the item you want ISN'T EXPOSED enough to remove? Tough.

Eridan's lusus is classified as the REINING STRIFESTALLION; a loyal horse lusus with facial hair DOUBLING AS REINS. Typically reserved for COOLER BLOODS, this majestic beast will PROTECT THEIR CHARGE WITH THEIR LIFE.

The Land of WAR AND PASSION is a craggy, WAR-TORN BATTLEFIELD (not to be confused with the ACTUAL SKAIAN BATTLEFIELD). Two warring factions of CONSORTS each vie for The Knight's affection and rescue. The denizen PEITHO also lusts for The Knight... much to Eridan's chagrin.

Eridan's ancestor is known as The WWARISON. He was a soldier eager to climb his way up through the ranks to eventually take charge of an ARMY OF HIS OWN, before he was SACRIFICED BY HIS COMMANDER and used as bait. He was killed unceremoniously.

"Why would you need a bio tutor, Kuroo? I don't see a need, when you only do chemistry anyways."

The air of the staff room is stale, and somewhere in the distance, Kuroo catches sight of a few small children, heads hanging low and pants hanging lower as a teacher barks at their "unacceptable behaviour." He envisions himself looking just like them, as he searches his brain for a feasible excuse.

"Just expanding my horizons. Never know if biochem is my calling unless I try it out, right?"

A nasally hum sounds from his class advisor's throat as he nods in approval, spinning in his chair to type a little too furiously at his computer. He pulls up Kuroo's file, his pristine records bragging on behalf of him on the screen. Kuroo's hands sweat in his pockets, fingers picking at hangnails around his cuticles. He does not care about biology, in fact, he'd rather not do it at all. Despite that, with the title of volleyball team captain now bestowed upon him, he is one step closer to his grand goal. His brain floats images of Nekoma's last friendly match, where six hands came together as one as twleve eyes glanced at him expectantly.

"We are the air- no, hold on, glucose? Or hemo...what? No, we are the blood in our...was it veins or arteries again...? Okay, wait, we are- shit, whatever, let's just win."

He cringes at the memory of his own voice, stuttering and correcting every second word as he made it through half a sentence of his pep talk, before the whistle blew and he was forced onto the court, already defeated. Nothing about this is interest, everything about this is desperation.

"Well, you're topping the rest of your subjects, so that's good. Why not focus on chemistry instead? There's still one person ahead of you."

His throat closes at the mention of his second defeat, twenty hours after his utterly failed pep talk, and if not for Kuroo wanting to graduate with a clean record, he would lunge forward to search for the person who robbed him of first place himself. Instead, he pulls a painstaking smile from his face, eyebrows resisting the urge to twitch as he grips his fists by his side like the boys that are still being lectured on the other side of the room.

"See, just making sure I have a backup plan if chemistry doesn't work out."

The advisor clicks his tongue, sighing out a dry chuckle as he drags Kuroo's name into a spreadsheet.

Kuroo isn't sure why he is already displaying such dedication to this tutoring session, so much that his arms wrap around a shiny biology textbook that will serve no use to him after this. Screaming children run around, snacks and lunches in hand as Kuroo dodges falling sandwich crumbs and flying tomato sauce packets, before slipping through the glass doors to the library. He pushes the panels shut, shielding himself from the mayhem that ensues outside, before sauntering around to search for his assigned room. He slides open the door to room #4, and you look up from your seat.

"Weren't you losing it in chem yesterday?"

Kuroo jerks his head forward, face contorting into an offended, albeit confused scowl.

"Not a very nice way to greet your new student, no?"

You smirk cheekily, snickering under your breath as a droning hum graces the silence of the room. You signal at him to take a seat, and he yanks the chair out from beneath the table, sliding his book on the desk before plopping himself down across you. You flip at your notebook, stuffed full with so many sticky notes that they peek out at the edges of the cover and double the thickness of the pages.

“Alright, tell me, what do you want to work on for the rest of this term?”

Well, here’s the thing. He had a really embarrassing fumble trying to make a speech about the human body in relation to a volleyball match, something that he has not a single clue about! He's desperate and will learn anything he needs to workshop this pep talk so he can sound cool in front of his team!

“Anatomy, probably.”

You sniff, wiggling your pen between your fingers, before scratching your head with the tip of it. He glances blankly at the pen that periodically dips and emerges from your mess of hair, before slowly moving to stare at your notebook in horror, the reality of his new situation finally settling in.

“Well, you’re going to have to be more specific than that, Kuroo.”

Kuroo’s mind blanks. He swears he has never seen you before, and he has seen a lot of people around here. Yet somehow, you have greeted him with both his name, and his absolute loss of dignity from the day before. He goes back to the classroom, the one where he received the sickening “2” on paper, and scans the room through his frantic eyes again, slowly this time. Just for a moment, his vision lands on a spinning pen, and a flicker of yellow, the same yellow that threatens to fall out of your notebook.

“Okay…how about blood?”

“So, the circulatory system?”

Kuroo has not heard the name of any bodily systems since mandatory science lessons in primary school. Circulatory system. Surely, that has to be it, right?

“Yeah, the circulatory system. Sure.”

While you scramble for the page in your book that houses a select few of the hundreds of labelled diagrams, Kuroo’s heart is pumping extra blood to his brain as his gears turn to mush, burning out as they grind and spin, searching for a way to divert this study session into workshopping his pep talk.

"So, you into volleyball?"

"No." You continue searching for diagrams between busy fingers, eyes darting from one note to the other, but never up at Kuroo.

Fuck. Segue failed.

"You seem like the type to enjoy it."

"You here to get me into volleyball, or to get it together for biology?"

And that just about does it. Kuroo finally shuts his mouth, lips curling into a frown as he lowers his head to meet the biology textbook that sits lifelessly in front of him. He can almost see the...seagull? Yeah, seagull, on the front cover, with its beady, thoughtless eyes boring into his skull, squawking at him through the hook of its beak. A guttaral screech, sunlight cutting through the membrane of the yellow pocket birds have for a mouth. It's laughing.

"Damn, okay."

You flip the remaining pages around the metal rings of the notebook, setting down a mess of fluorescent yellow, green, and pink in front of him. He stares blankly, a cluster of words and lines decorating his view. He's never seen anyone put this much effort into diagrams, of all things. Maybe he's become soft, too accustomed to the zigzags and random branches of skeletal diagrams.

"Staring at them only won't do you any good, Kuroo. Your book is still closed."

"Yeah, you're a biologist alright."

"What's that supposed to mean?" You irk your brow, and Kuroo wants to swallow his words.

"You draw like one."

Scoffing, you snatch your yellow notepad that sits beside the half-spilled contents of your pencil case. Amidst the scratches and rolls of your pen against the smooth paper of the top sticky note, you scrunch your nose, each line intentional and every stroke precisely placed. You draw like a biologist. Bullshit. You'll draw however you want, whenever you want. The pen flies away from the paper after you smash a finishing dot beside your LDPE diagram, and you rip the note out, sticking it onto the beak of the pelican on Kuroo's textbook. Kuroo's eyes widen at your diagram, matching perfectly with the image that has haunted him relentlessly in the last of his waking days and sleepless nights.

"Still think I draw like a biologist, Kuroo?"

"Y-yeah, you still draw like a biologist." He spits it out, but his voice betrays him, stuttering at the first word. You smirk, flipping his book open in one swift push to a page adorned with words so small they are barely visible, and about twelve diagrams of body parts he can't even pretend to know the names of.

"Let's get to work then, can't have you falling behind, even if it's only one subject, right?"

He does not want this pep talk badly enough.

Who is he kidding? Of course he does.

Yet Kuroo can feel the great expectation of delivering a pep talk on par with the TEDX speeches he watches in the shower crumbling down, disintegrating and fizzing like limestone in acid rain. His fingers play with the sticky note on the cover as your words drone on, his vision following the motion of your pen aimlessly.

He grips the sticky note with his index and thumb.

He smiles and nods at you when you ask if he understands what you are illustrating on the page of the book.

His fingers pull in opposite directions as they rip your diagram in half behind the bent cover.

The initial purpose of this blog would be to study, read and share about the French revolution. However, in my brief period in which I have been immersed reading about this event, I have developed a special fixation for Saint Just. So, in reality the publications will be much more focused on his person and his brief but intense history.

Although at the beginning I have been sharing memes and jokes, I am still working on some analyses and brief political essays that I will publish here.

La jaula se ha vuelto pantalla: los efectos de la hipercomunicación en nuestras relaciones interpersonales

Vivimos en una era digital donde nos vemos bombardeados de información constantemente, no sólo con la inmensa cantidad de información e imágenes que vemos día a día mientras revisamos las redes durante horas, también cuando nos levantamos y lo primero que vemos en el celular es la pantalla repleta de notificaciones interminables que, seamos sinceros, ni siquiera leemos, no sabemos lo que dicen ni la mitad de ellas, ¿todo esto resuena contigo?

Ahora, ¿te has percatado de cómo esto puede afectar a un nivel tanto personal como interpersonal?, tal vez ha pasado que nos llega una notificación de nuestra bestie diciendo que le pasemos las instrucciones de una tarea y decidimos “contestar después” para que al final la desesperada solicitud de ayuda por parte de nuestra amiga quede totalmente ignorada porque “se nos olvidó contestar”, o simplemente la eliminamos por accidente al querer deshacernos de todas esas notificaciones de Pinterest recomendando miles de tableros y alagando nuestro buen gusto en memes, o tal vez, simplemente no teníamos la energía suficiente para contestar por pasar tanto tiempo viendo videos de TikTok tumbados en nuestro lugar cómodo favorito y terminamos recordando lo miserable que es la vida después de que nuestro crush consiguió una pareja, que por cierto descubrimos tras stalkearle en Instagram con la cuenta chilaquilesconsalsa05 por la desesperación de saber qué está haciendo.

Pues bueno, todo esto y más podría explicarse un poquito (mucho) con este concepto llamado hipercomunicación. Pero primero…

¿Qué es hipercomunicación?

Puede entenderse como hipercomunicación a la abundante cantidad de información que intercambiamos en tiempo real a través de distintas plataformas digitales, por ejemplo, las redes sociales. Cada vez que recibimos una notificación, ya sea un mensaje o una actualización, estamos siendo bombardeados por pequeños fragmentos de información. Nos hemos acostumbrado tanto a enviar y recibir mensajes casi instantáneamente que nuestra expectativa sobre la velocidad y la frecuencia con la que nos comunicamos se eleva, generando una serie de desafíos para la calidad de nuestras interacciones.

La hipercomunicación tiene algunas ventajas como una mejor conectividad entre unos individuos y otros gracias al constante intercambio de información, además de que recibimos información de forma inmediata, sin embargo, esto también puede traernos a algunos efectos negativos: como la superficialidad en nuestras relaciones, un ejemplo claro de esto son las llamadas “small talks”: simples conversaciones cortas sobre algún interés en común que no llevan a nada más que al punto directamente, sin profundizar en la vida del uno y el otro ni generando una relación más estrecha, esas simples “charlas” de dos mensajes que se tienen cuando alguien responde a una historia y le damos “me gusta” al último mensaje para no vernos tan groseros. La falta de tiempo para procesar adecuadamente lo que decimos y recibimos puede convertir las relaciones en algo superficial, donde la cantidad de interacciones prevalece sobre la calidad de estas. 

La hipercomunicación también puede llevar a que la línea entre lo público y privado se vea difuminada, casi imperceptible, ligado con la superficialidad, pues las relaciones más cercanas necesitan de un espacio donde se pueda generar cierta intimidad, momentos de unión, de los cuales se carece, lo cual puede causar inseguridad y ansiedad ya que las personas sienten la necesidad de estar disponibles en todo momento, incluso cuando necesitan espacio personal, lo cual también puede llevar a estrés y agotamiento emocional al intentar estar disponible para todo y todos menos nosotros mismos. Es como una cosa llevara a la otra, y todo lleva al agotamiento emocional y personal, entonces deja de ser una práctica sana y se vuelve una desconexión de absolutamente todo, incluso de las personas que más nos importan.

Probablemente te has sentido identificado con algo de esto, así que aquí te decimos unos cuantos consejos para mitigar los efectos negativos de la hipercomunicación, cosa a la que nos vemos sometidos inconscientemente:

Establecer límites de tiempo: Hay que aprender a establecer limites en todo, pero en este caso, sobre el tiempo que tenemos para estar comunicados con los demás y, más importante, el tiempo que necesitamos para nosotros mismos. Establecer tiempos específicos para revisar mensajes o redes puede ayudarnos a gestionar mejor nuestras interacciones. Tomate un café y escribe un poco en tu diario, descansa de las pantallas para que la próxima vez podamos brindarle nuestra ayuda amablemente a nuestra amiga.

Fomentar la comunicación cara a cara: Yo sé que a veces es complicado enfrentarse a la gente y hablarles a la cara, no digo que se tiene que hacer todo el tiempo y en todo momento, pero ¿si o no es mejor ver sonreír a tu amiga en lugar de solo leer eso inexpresivos “jajaja” o ese emoji que no sabes si en serio o no?

Practicar la escucha activa: A veces nos perdemos en una conversación, no te culpo, a veces tenemos muchas cosas en la cabeza, pero hoy en día puede ser complicado organizar una salida con esa amiga, familiar o conocido que apreciamos tanto, incluso si se quiere pasar de desconocidos a algo más, siempre es importante mantener una escucha activa y dar paso al diálogo profundo, no le tengas miedo, no muerde.

Desactivar las notificaciones: Seamos sinceros ¿cuántas de todas esas notificaciones que recibimos día a día nos interesan realmente?, evita agotarte con información innecesaria y desactiva las notificaciones de Pinterest, a menos que recibas mensajes por ahí, pero vamos, nadie habla a través de él realmente.

Recuerda que no siempre es algo negativo, la hipercomunicación es un fenómeno social real y que está pasando ahora mismo, saber de él, qué es y cómo gestionarlo, puede ayudarnos a evitar ser esclavos de las redes o nosotros mimos. Llama a tu madre, sal a pasear a tu perro o pídele el número a ese chavo tan lindo, o no lo hagas, pero recuerda que la vida sigue más allá de una pantalla.

OK, small question... in canon there's Charles and Whit w/ the hemophobia thing. Is there smtn like that in this au..? I think I remember u saying Kami had the hemo fear but does Chiba help him or smtn or does he just suffer alone?

No he doesn't as conditions and such specific to a character stay to that character, but I suppose since he was largely hostile to most people in Ch1, he would probably have to suffer alone :'(

Although since he does do the goofy playing with cacti in his room thing in Ch2 I like the idea of Chiba overhearing him and roping him into helping out with lunch and sort of bringing him into the group more in that way, where it's sort of a more gradual thing that occurs over Ch2 and 3 (as little developed as it is so far lol) where he slowly gains a support network and people who are willing to stick up for him and genuinely help and be friends with him

After Adam had tried to push the girls off of a balcony and he promptly had got thrown into the fountain of heavens dinning hall. Adam storms back into the dinning hall all pissy about it and he’s yelling and cursing up a storm towards the girls and how he’ll kill them during the extermination. This then gets the attention of sera and Carmilla who are pissed at Adam. He had tried to push and endanger the girls just to prove false claims so both of them go off on Adam but more specifically Carmilla.

Sera: “I’ve had enough of telling you to stop!—“

Carmilla(who is very pissed off): “¡eres una desgracia! ¿Tratando de dañar a mis hijos con acusaciones falsas? ¿Qué tan infantil eres? I love the thought of Carmilla going all mama bear on Adam. He probably thinks her girls are small fries and easier to torment. He's gonna learn today! I imagine Sera would back off and let Carmilla handle him, short of killing him. Maybe some of her demon shows through when she gets that worked up, protecting her girls. Also, her changing over to Spanish when she's furious 👌👌

For Adam's sake, I hope if they bring him back in the show, he can be redeemed. As the Act 1 villain, I think he'd be a prime candidate for that, even though he's one of those antagonists you love to hate. Carmilla and the girls can create a boot camp for Charlie to use for those souls who are really tough nuts to crack, LOL.
