Diabolically Yours | part I (vessel!demon x reader)
Summary: Emma just wanted a simple magical boost to win a writing contest, not a snarky and handsome demon bound to her soul. But after summoning the wrong hellspawn, she ends up stuck with Vessel: a sarcastic, shirtless chaos entity who won’t stop flirting or stealing her snacks. Now they’re magically tethered, emotionally entangled, and dangerously close to something much scarier than a pact gone wrong... feelings.
TW: Contains supernatural shenanigans, mutual pining, steamy tension, and one annoyingly hot demon. Read with care (and maybe holy water on the finals part).
A/N: I'll try update regularly because i'm really excited with this idea. This is also something new that i'm trying so, please, bear with me. It's being crossposted on ao3 too.
💖 masterlist
Part I | Part II
Part I: Where Everything Goes Wrong
Emma wasn’t the kind of person who made deals with demons. At least, not until that weekend.
She was the kind of person who organized her mugs by color, cried during movies with dogs, and said “excuse me” even to store mannequins. But she was also the kind of person who was absolutely fed up.
Fed up with a stagnant life, with a pile of ignored résumés, unpaid freelance gigs, family gatherings full of invasive questions like “so, any boyfriends?”, and above all, fed up with relying on luck.
So why not cheat a little? Not much. Just enough.
It was just a basic pact. A “mystical agreement with an underworld entity for moderate personal gain.” No soul-selling involved (she read three blogs that guaranteed this), no sacrifices, nothing too heavy. Just a simple ritual with easy-to-find items: black candle, red chalk, coarse salt, and blood from the summoner. There was even a tutorial on YouTube — dubbed.
The goal? To summon a useful demon. Nothing too ambitious. One specialized in creativity, literary inspiration, maybe a bit of extra charisma — things that would help boost the frustrated writing career Emma so badly wanted to take off.
She even chose a specific name: Belmior, the Demon of Eloquence.
According to the grimoire Forgotten Spells and Hidden Codes (available as a PDF on Telegram), Belmior was polite, focused, wore a linen suit, and helped artists create masterpieces.
Perfect.
The ritual was set up on her bedroom floor: rug rolled up, furniture pushed aside, window slightly open to “oxygenate the energy.” Emma lit the candles, drew the circle with chalk and salt, put on the suggested ambient music (something ethereal with harps, very conceptual), and recited the words in a firm voice:
“Domine voco te, Belmior, Artifex Verbi, Veni et responde...”
The ground shook. The candles blew out on their own. A cold wind blew from nowhere.
Emma smiled. It was working!
Until, with a sharp crack — like a lightbulb bursting — the air split in two and a figure appeared in the center of the circle.
But… it wasn’t Belmior.
He wasn’t wearing a suit. He didn’t radiate serenity. He didn’t bring a quill and inkpot. What emerged looked like it had stepped out of both a ceremonial nightmare and a divine painting.
The figure was tall, lean, with dark skin that shimmered with an unsettling metallic sheen. His face was covered by a pale mask, adorned with golden lines and glowing green symbols that pulsed like living magical veins. Where eyes should’ve been, there was only shadow. And where there should’ve been a mouth… the silence was sharper than any scream.
He wore a dark cloak with gold details and chains hanging from his body as if they were part of him, decorating his chest like cursed jewels. On one shoulder, a white piece of ornate armor — fit for a king or a celestial executioner.
He looked ancient. Solemn. And completely out of place in Emma’s room, between a half-dead plant and a bag of cookies.
“Seriously? You used finger blood for this?” he said, in a deep, slightly hoarse voice, clearly annoyed.
“Great. A hysterical human with a blog ritual.”
Emma went pale. “You... you're not Belmior.”
“And you’re not smart. But let’s deal with one problem at a time.”
He looked around, scowling at the crooked circle on the floor, the fallen candle, and the harp music still softly playing in the background. Then he looked back at her.
“My name is Vessel. And you’ve just made the worst kind of ritual mistake: summoning me by accident without a clear purpose.”
“I just... wanted creative help!”
“And you summoned a demon of dimensional disruption. That’s like calling a plumber to fix a broken heart. Congrats.”
Emma stood in silence for a moment. Then she sighed. Deeply. “Okay. Okay. This can be fixed, right? You can just… go back?”
“I’d love to. Really. But there’s one small detail: you called me incorrectly, with an incomplete connection and an unfinished contract. The result?”
He stepped toward her, and she instinctively stepped back. He took another step. She backed up again. He followed, like they were dancing some kind of supernatural tango.
“We’re stuck.”
“Stuck?”
“Stuck. Glued. Bound by a partial arcane link. You summoned me and didn’t release me. I can’t leave until... the bond dissolves through some sort of great personal achievement.”
“This is a joke.”
“My entire existence is, darling.”
Emma sat on the floor, dazed.
“I just wanted to write a good story for my semester project. It’s worth 70% of my grade.”
“And now you’ve got a demon as your personal coach. What an opportunity.”
She glared at him.
“You’re going to mess everything up, aren’t you?”
“Most likely.”
Emma squinted, trying to figure out if this was real or just a caffeine-fueled creative breakdown.
“So now what?” she asked, voice still shaky. “What happens next?”
Vessel stretched his arms as if waking from a nap. He looked absurdly comfortable in the room, as if Emma’s bedroom were just an extension of hell — which, given the scattered clothes, might not be that far off.
“Now? Now... we live this nightmare together. I follow you around, you try to get rid of me, and somewhere in the middle, you learn a lesson.”
Emma stared at him. “You’re kidding.”
“I have literally centuries of experience with botched summonings”, said Vessel, folding his arms and leaning against the wall like someone commenting on the ending of a predictable TV show. “It always ends the same way.”
He raised a hand and started counting on his fingers:
“First: the human learns a touching emotional lesson.” One finger. “Second: they cry. Always cry. Sometimes ugly cry”, two fingers. “Third: I get banished dramatically, surrounded by smoke, cheap candle scent, and an existential crisis that lasts about fifty years”, three fingers. He dropped his hand and sighed theatrically. “The only variable is the candle scent. Vanilla, cinnamon, jasmine... a scented hell.”
Emma raised an eyebrow at him.
“And yet you keep coming?”
“The entertainment makes up for it. Plus, humans are... delightfully messy. I never know if I’ll end up in a gothic castle, a suburban garage, or” he gestured broadly “a room with shelves full of cheesy romance novels.”
“Is that a compliment?”
“If you want it to be.” “Right. And in the meantime, you’ll just... stay here? With me?” “Of course. Unless you want to find out what happens when we’re apart.” “What happens?”
He smiled. That should’ve been illegal. It was the kind of smile reserved for perfume commercials with French names and a lifetime contract with sin.
“Try it. Go on. Walk thirty steps in any direction. I’ll wait.”
Emma hesitated. Her rational brain screamed that it was a bad idea. Her curiosity said “what’s the worst that could happen?”
She took ten steps to the bedroom door. Nothing. Fifteen. Vessel stood still, arms crossed. At twenty, a light pressure hit her chest. At twenty-five, it turned to dizziness. At thirty, it felt like an emotional anvil was dropping onto her heart.
She staggered. “Okay! Okay, I get it!”
Vessel appeared beside her before she could blink, hands behind his back and a mock-innocent expression.
“You reached the limit. Congratulations. We’re officially mystical Siamese cats. Isn’t that cute?”
Emma leaned against the wall, catching her breath.
“This is a nightmare.”
She stormed back into the room, flopped onto the couch. Vessel sat in the armchair like exiled royalty. “And don’t you have, I don’t know, a hellish boss to report to?” “I do. But he’s busy with an interdimensional conference. Don’t get involved with demonic bureaucracy — it’s worse than a bank queue.”
Emma frowned.
“You’re really taking this well.”
“Like I said, this isn’t my first time stuck with a clumsy, cute human who mispronounced arcane words like a margarine commercial.”
She arched a brow.
“Did you just call me cute?”
“I said clumsy and cute. Don’t take it out of context.”
“Are you flirting?”
“I’m breathing. In my species, that’s already halfway to flirting.”
She turned her face, trying to hide the small smile that slipped out.
“And what if I just... ignore you?”
“I sing. Loudly. And my voice makes dogs cry.”
“Lovely.”
“And I know the entire ABBA discography.”
“That... that’s not a threat. That’s a promise.”
Vessel smiled genuinely for the first time. Emma noticed that, behind the irony, there was something almost... comforting. Like a presence that, despite the chaos, fit better than anything else she had ever tried to summon into her life.
“Fine.” She took a deep breath. “You can stay on the couch. But no dream invading, no touching my chocolate drawer, and absolutely no commenting on my sad song playlists, got it?”
“Got it.” He paused. “But I can help you write. I’m great with sarcasm and irony.”
“Hmm. Maybe you’ll be useful after all.”
“Oh, Emma... you haven’t seen anything yet.”

48th lineart for this year's @green-with-envy-phandom-event!
Despite wearing royal insignia, Danny looks like someone who's just... waiting for something, near this majestic stained glass window.
This is a collaboration: Lines by @goodfish-bowl, color by Furia (because this year the artist duo Furiarossa&Mimma is split in half! We'll be competing against each other, in two different teams... but still, all the stuff will be posted on the same Tumblr account, or Patreon, or wherever you follow us)
And here's a new feature! Since we're working on a card game, and we want to give all the other participants (and spectators of this event) a fun "demo", we've decided that each of the completed illustrations will be used to make a "Let's Play! Overlord" card.
All the cards will then be collected at the end in a pdf file and will be freely available to everyone, becoming a print-to-play game that we hope will be fun, and that will include easter eggs and other little treats, but will also be perfectly playable within the main game.
So here is the 48th card of this special promo set:
[Oh, and a lot more of our Danny Phantom fanarts: Here’s our tag]

TWO FREE/PWYC POETRY ZINES
i finally made my first ever zines and got to hand them out at a local zine fest this past weekend! both of them are now available as downloadable PDFs on kofi that you can print yourself/view digitally, no charge but tips appreciated. links below and details under the cut:
THE BUFFER: POEMS AND WRITINGS
TEN OF SWORDS : A POEM

"There is snow falling, fragile and on fire. See it through the window—the pasture I refuse— look past my cheek, there, to the meadow, by the lilies, where I don't go." (Gathering)
THE BUFFER WITHIN ME, OUTSIDE ME, BETWEEN ME AND THE WORLD. I TRY TO LET IT GO.
These poems are linked by a disconnection with the world and in that, the constant returning to it, an inability to see oneself in its cyclical tides. Explore the abstraction and destruction of beauty, the urge to enclose oneself within it as a buffer, and the desire to let creation resolve this rift between one and the world.
"THE BUFFER: Poems & Writings" is an 8 page zine featuring 6 written pieces, each framed with black & white digital collage. (Link)

"Our eyes speak of how we'll each annihilate the other through the crosshairs. Fear whispers with every jerk of the pupil. We soothe these tremors, steadying the trigger finger first." (IV.)
TEN SWORDS. TEN VIGNETTES. TEN RUINATIONS.
An apocalyptic poem digesting a struggle against the prescribed standards of manhood, all set in ten despairing acts. Following the momentum of the Swords suit in Tarot, the roles of gender, the family, and nature unravel to a cutting end.
"TEN OF SWORDS: A Poem" is an 8 page zine featuring one poem split into ten vignettes, text only (excl. front and back covers). (Link)

A bit late but *glares at tumblr* it's better be late than never ey?
But here is my 2023 art roundup! :D
General retrospectives under the cut per month if anyone is curious 😘
Jan: This was a gift I made for a buddy of mine! It was of his oc that the friend group collectively simped for and cultivated together, as a family. He's a great lad and a starting point for me to use stock textures for the general look of my art
Feb: An older design of my Miraak, but I really still like this piece. It was the starting point of me trying to learn how to draw characters interacting together. While I do think I can improve in some aspects, I still think it holds up really well and looks super cute!
Mar: Ah, gore. This was the beginning of me doing a 'soft' art style. It's of a melting Emperor Belos for the Tales of a Tyrant Zine (I believe the link is still active for access to the pdf? If curious, I should still have it around somewhere. It's pretty sick ngl). I really like this piece, it helped me deal with my imposter's syndrome in the group of Amazing artists as they really liked this piece of mine! And generally I love drawing gore
Apr: This was a commission for someone on tumblr! I used my softer style for this piece and had fun figuring out how to make the light imposing but not loose the main colors and details! Also fun fact - I had a friend pose for me holding a sign so I can get GOOD hand references as google was no help
May: Ah the first full drawing on Krita. This was a test on the art program as Autodesk Sketchbook was no longer working for me on desktop (tho I still use it for my ipad art!). It's of my HOK who I don't talk much about as they're just a Dude. Sorry Jhyth, I should do more with you
Jun: This bitch. Elyden I adore you, you're my favorite oc and one of my longest lasting ones but. . . It took so damn long to get a good design with him that showed his personality and wasn't a pain to draw. I really like his design here, I think he looks wonderful
Jul: A commission done for my Skyrim fanfic's editor actually! She's pretty cool and greatly improved my writing skills! And she paid me to draw a mudcrab in Sovngarde! What more do you want? I love this piece too as I learnt how to do backgrounds in my style that won't kill me in my detailed art style
Aug: Another commission done for a friend of mine! It was based off a doodle I did of his oc as a gift but he paid me to finish it as a full rendered piece! :D I got to draw a tiddy window and an evil throne!!!
Sep: An art collab I did with a friend of mine! Where we split the image in half and drew each other's ocs interacting! It's actually the same dude as the Jan's piece. I both hate loved working on this. His hands gave me so much trouble
Oct: My second favorite oc's revamped design, Lorelei <3 I love her a lot and I really love her design. I think it fits her perfectly and you can tell what she's about immediately by just looking at her. I adore this lady (also fun fact, she's the older sister of Elyden!). This drawing means a lot to me as it was me figuring out that I like drawing character references only in more fun poses in a sense
Nov: Funny thing, I finished that drawing yesterday. But it's a reference of my Rahgot! I chose this as my Nov piece as I feel like it was when I was getting better at character designs. In terms of practicality, function, aesthetics, colors, and visual language
Dec: A commission for an old friend of mine that I knew since...fuck me, I think...6 years? He wanted me to draw an antagonist for his body horror gundom ttrpg campaign! Even though he doesn't draw, his designs fuck so hard and I'm so glad I got to draw one fully <3 I love this piece and I think it was a great send off to the end of this year
I feel like I exploded in improvement this year. My skills and my methods for art became more practical and made my life a bit easier in general in the process (especially in the coloring department). And I cannot wait to see what I'll make for next year :D
Thank you all for coming with me to this journey <3 and have a blessed new year

Why I Decided Being Funny Is a More Honest Art Form Than Pretending to Be a Tortured Poet.
I'll work on better titles but first, let’s get one thing clear: I am actually a really funny person. If you’re my friend reading this—please send me a selfie with something on your head to vouch for me. (I’m so quirky. OMG I’m so different.) If you’re a stranger—there’s absolutely no reason to believe anything you read on the internet. But you can believe the science aka the very real experiment I’m running on what “funny” actually is.
Because there are types. Oh, there are types. There’s viral TikTok funny. There’s stand-up funny (but wait—what even is stand-up funny? Like is it Ravi Gupta funny? Or Samay Raina? Or Kenny Sebastian? Kunal Kamra? Vir Das??) And then there’s “you had to be there when Zaf said it” funny, which—objectively—is the highest tier of comedy. Sorry. I don’t make the rules. Except I do. It’s my study.
Anyway, this is a small (chaotic) window into how I try to science my way through life. Because I like pretending I’m a STEM major. Which I kind of am. Even though my GE GPA is much higher than my major GPA. Which… might be a sign. There might be correlation. Maybe causation. But here I go again—designing fake experiments about myself instead of facing the data. Classic scientist behavior.
Let me backtrack. Maybe I should explain why I’m doing this humor column in the first place. One might say it’s unnecessary. But also… I have free will. Allegedly.
Here’s the context: I love writing. I always have. I love literature to the point that even this so-called “casual” thoughts column might randomly dissolve into something dramatic or poetic. I’ve filled the void inside me with references, songs, books, films—as if they’d stitch meaning into the fabric of my soul. (Yeah, I warned you.)
Anyway, I decided I needed to be less pretentious. Yes, I love philosophical fiction and poetry and the classics. But God—and my 10th-grade English teacher, Miss Usha Kumari—knows I can’t write them to save my life.
I can’t really be philosophical—not because I don’t want to, but because I just don’t know enough. Or maybe it’s that I don’t know more than… like, why did Nietzsche say “God is dead”? Or why did Marx call religion the “opium of the masses”? Their ideas were shaped by their experiences and the times they lived in—times that aren’t identical to mine. They didn’t scroll through endless reels of Tutu the kitten or get bombarded by a hundred versions of philosophies, religions, and radicals all at once. They couldn’t just download PDFs of communist manifestos or start debating The Good Place (which, by the way, is a W show). Their worlds weren’t mine, and their brains definitely weren’t wired like this one.
Which is how I have come to realize that any attempt I make to analyze it properly would unravel into 80,000 more words that my ADHD brain won’t let me finish, and push me into an existential crisis of everything that I know or don't know and will never know. And as the responsible adult currently managing this disorderly child—I’ll stop there. For now.
This is another thing I do: I act like I’m made of multiple entities. Which essentially started when my therapist told me to journal my negative thoughts to create distance from them. Naturally, being the certified scientist and psychologist I am, I extrapolated that into a whole life philosophy. You will learn so much from reading my stuff it’s kind of crazy—like this over Vishal Dayama’s Substack any day tbh (I am joking, Shauhar OP always). Anyway, as I was saying: I now split all my chaotic energy into different fictional beings for that therapeutic distance™. Sometimes the mature adult version of Zaf shows up to manage the rest. This might sound insane—but don’t worry. I’ll write more about it, so you’ll know for sure that it is.
Okay yes—rereading that last paragraph, I do yap. And I get off track so quickly. Maybe that’s kind the theme I should stick with for this blog.
(I also love pretending I have this imaginary audience who loves getting a piece of my brain. It’s very real, though. I know you’re going crazy right now.)
OKAY. So yes, the actual point.
I realized I don’t need to write tortured, sad poetry. I don’t need to become some philosophical masterpiece machine. I used Tumblr. I’ve had spikes of poetic output. They’re not that good, and no one has the heart to tell me.
But it’s okay. Because I’m funny. Remember?
Wait—no. That wasn’t the realization exactly. I actually don’t remember how it happened (which, ironically, is the whole point of this entire post).
But somewhere in the middle of all this mental static, I realized: My creative voice keeps changing. But the chaos? The tangents? The random spirals of thought that ruin my day but feel good to write? That’s the constant.
So why not use that?
One might argue that pretending people will read this, writing all this bs, and finding meaning in my "scattered" life story is actually more pretentious.
To that I say: Hmm. Interesting hypothesis. Let me test it.
Independent variable: Me pretending to be this is cool interesting blogger with unique enough thougts.
Dependent variable: My will to live.
Wait—that’s not a valid experimental hypothesis. Bad scientist. Try again.
To be fair, I’m writing this from lab right now, and all I did today was autoclave water. Dear PI, if you're reading this, please give me a real project.
Anyway—here’s the takeaway: I’m leaning into this weird, erratic voice. Not to impress. Not to perform. Just because it feels like the most honest thing I’ve got right now.
So maybe this is the start of something. Or maybe it’s just a test run, with humor as the control.
Choodham.

18th lineart for this year's @green-with-envy-phandom-event
Chronokinetic ghosts can be downright unnerving! They invite you tp an appointment for tea (even though you don't want to have it) and when you get there you find a giant stained glass window of you (looking sulky because you didn't want to go) that the guy commissioned in the past providing an image of you looking sulky in the future that he had already foreseen. And all for a laugh at your expense!
This is a collaboration: lines by @ikiracake and color by Furiarossa (because this year the artist duo Furiarossa&Mimma is split in half!
Overlord" (more details in the future) card.
All the cards will then be collected at the end in a pdf file and will be freely available to everyone, becoming a print-to-play game that we hope will be fun, and that will include easter eggs and other little treats, but will also be perfectly playable within the main game.
So here is the 18th card of this special promo set: Glimpse of present.
(Of course, if the artist who created the lineart does not want their illustration to be included in the final pdf with the other printable and playable cards, just let us know and the card will not be included, obviously!)
