Seasoned ferroequinology fan such as myself in turn knows this ain't always true and schedules are more suggestions than rule.

Page 7 9:20 - still in the dark All curtains rolled down as one! How i wish i knew the mechanism behind this. This further startled an impressionable young man in isle 5, and i admit i was secretly taken with the feeling too, but all were reassured by a returning passenger.

Managed to strike a conversation! Emidio seemed happy to discuss the Tern with me, and i've put a great amount of his observation down in shorthand. Told we're due to arrive at Ravine just some 10 minutes after leaving the tunnel, yet when - varies greatly. Despite being as persistent as i dared, didn't get too much about the dark route we're taking. Hiw can it be that we spend a different time under the peaks QAD and yet make stops with enviable punctuality? My greatest desire is to find any personnel besides the gloomy tea woman, yet not so likely with the Shapes around.

If i am to trust Emidio's words, some of the paper trash rolling under the seats he swears is a rudimentary emdemic life form akin to rootless plants of the west. Still unsure if that's a joke of his.

Bought steamed buns of decent taste. Really need to find Emidio and get a good expo for Ravine, but he's nowhere to be found. Way too many insects ouside.

Page 9 10:40 - RvneP -> Cantbank Well, they do talk! Shapes have congratulated me on being through "the worst of it", whatever they meant. Both of them are now quite loud and inconsiderate. A. only laughed when i mentioned his rudeness. I miss the morning quiet.

11:00 Passed a mountain lake which amused us all greatly. At first i thought we're being blinded by the suns, yet the bright shimmer came from dozens of fish, moving through with their sides to the light. A. is particularly taken with the picture.

All the details Bells Hells know about Cyrus' death & everything surrounding it

I've been seeing people wondering/forgetting how much Dorian has told Bells Hells about the circumstances of Cyrus' death. So I've decided to go through the episodes!

A couple disclaimers before I start:

Orym shouldn't have made that comment to Dorian. Even if he didn't know all the specifics, knowing Dorian's brother died recently (and at all for that matter) should have stopped him from making that theoretical. Even if Cyrus' death had nothing to do with the gods, it would still be an inappropriate thing to say. He could've made that theoretical to anyone else in that group but he said it to the person with a recently dead family member.

Even though it would be beneficial for Dorian to tell BH (and for BH to learn/understand) everything about that day, he doesn't have to (and` shouldn't be forced to). Plus, it's very in character for Dorian not to tell them.

I don't want to see any comments saying "well it's implied," "BH should be able to connect the dots," or "BH should get the hint because of how Dorian has been acting." I'm bad at picking up hints irl so I won't fault BH for not connecting those points.

This post is about what Dorian has explicitly said (even though I did add a couple parts where he implies what happens).

This is all under the assumption that Dorian has not told BH everything off camera.

Dorian doesn't explicitly mention it this episode but there is a moment where he hints that the prime deities may have somehow been involved.

The reason I say "sort of" is because Dorian doesn't say this is in regards to Cyrus' death (even though we the audience knows this). Orym and Fearne could've easily assumed that this was in regards to their EXU times.

Get an idea of what "getting dark" means. Matt describes Opal as "a humanoid shape of white hair and a black crown dripping and black oil and ichor. Opal stands dark and still" (2:19:13)

"Opal the Twice-Crowned, born a fractured, dual soul. A being of unknown potential, manipulated by cult and betrayer gods alike to walk a violent path without agency, a pawn for the gods and their whims." Raven Queen describing Opal (2:19:32)

Dorian remind Bells Hells that Opal is now the champion of the Spider Queen (51:29)

Due South Ads/Promos - Compilation 1

This project was definitely a labor of love 😅 After finding a lot of dS ads buried in larger ad compilations, I decided to clip each of these ads and make a dS promos compilation

any videos I came across that were only/mostly dS ads I added to a YT playlist here (playlist tumblr post here)

Final count for this vid is 65 ads/promos! Captions are available!

Where applicable/available, I also clipped the ad end card (with the show title/day/time/channel info), but cut out any of the in-between ads (mostly Diagnosis Murder promos). I also adjusted the audio levels to try and make everything as level as possible, and fixed a couple of clips that had de-synced audio

The 1997 documentary A Bit of Scarlet, narrated by Ian McKellen, collects clips from British films from the 1930s-1990s with either queer subtext or direct queer themes. While watching, I wished any of those clips had been labeled with their source, so for the last couple days I went through and tried to timestamp as many of the clips as I could. The Journey Across the Night 我在香港遇见他 (2020) - Whump List

Synopsis: Li Jia (on the right), a 23-year-old man, goes to Hong Kong to study psychiatry for a pressing reason. His family has a genetic disease that caused his mother and brother to be diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 24 and he is desperate to escape the same fate. While racing against the clock, he meets Zhang Chacha, a young woman who works in a rental agency, and Shi Cheng (on the left), an anatomy student. Together they investigate cases involving mentally ill people and have to face their own demons.

Notes: You can thank Shi Cheng because most of the good whump comes from him (ep. 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 21). The bromance between Li Jia and Shi Cheng is really sweet and I, for once, loved the FL, as she’s witty and flirty and has the cutest outfits, so it was a delight to see the relationship between these three develop. The last episode ruin the entire show though, it's obvious they were trying to get a second season... Honestly, just skip it.

I'm probably not the only one to notice this about AvA 11's soundtrack, but I don't see anyone else talking about it so I guess I'll be the first.

I want to preface this by saying that I am no Music Biologist, and have very little grasp on the terminology used by those who have a firm understanding of How Music Works. I've just noticed some cool stuff about AvA's soundtrack.

I absolutely LOVE how Scott Buckley uses bits of the music from previous episodes to call back to those moments. I'm sure we all know about how he used Purple's motif(I think that's the word) from Note Block Universe in the climactic moment of The King, and there's a couple times he does this in Victim as well.

For easy reference, I'll link the 3 mentioned soundtracks on Scott Buckley's channel under the cut at the bottom of this post. All of the timestamps I'm about to mention are in reference to those videos.

The first time he does this is during the opening scene of the Animator torturing victim. In The Box, throughout the episode he uses this... creepy, uneasy vibrating sort of sound as Agent assists victim in beating up Chosen in the Box. It's a recurring thing that shows up during both the fight and interrogation sequences, but you can hear it most clearly at 1:30-1:55 and at 9:00-9:07.

In Victim, he brings this sound back as the Animator uses the tools in the program window to do the same to victim. It's a lot more subtle, as it's more in the background, but you can still clearly hear it at 1:42. When I first watched the episode, I noticed it and immediately grinned because yes yes yes, parallels!

The second time this happens is as Agent sees The Chosen One following Mitsi's death at about 14:05, where Scott re-uses Lockdown's theme Rocket Corp's theme that plays at the end of both Wanted(11:17) and The Box(9:09, though it's a lot subtler).

I love this one so much. Not just because it sounds cool, but because of how it kinda ties Mitsi's death at TCO and TDL's hands to the current state of the corporation. "Rocket Corp is what it is now, all because of this moment."

Scott Buckley's work is phenomenal and I love it.
