As a new person I'll forgive you for not already knowing that I hate it when people bring Twitter drama over here. There is a reason I am here and not over there. What's the point of having come here, when people keep trying to bring garbage from over there to here? I feel chased by this BS.

This is exactly the kind of thing that made me close my anonymous inbox a while back.

All that aside, people should not be bragging that they're on Twitter. Anyone still on Twitter loses my respect, sorry - and that's the politest way I can stomach saying it.

I just can't understand how anyone could remain on a platform run by a neo-nazi scumbag whose entire personality and value system revolves around getting richer (despite being the richest man in the world) by exploiting everyone 'beneath' him and destroying everything that any decent person holds dear.

He's racist, xenophobic, misogynistic (and notoriously predatory/abusive toward women), he's deeply homophobic, anti-trans to a... nazi degree... let's just put it that way, anti worker rights, anti science unless it furthers corporate exploitation, anti-environment, and his primary goal is to destroy all the institutions, regulations and infrastructure that were built to protect human rights, human health and equity in society. He has voiced that he'd like to destroy the people who believe in those values, too.

He says that EMPATHY is the biggest human weakness/problem. Yes, this asshole genuinely believes that empathy is a negative trait in human beings. WTAF.

He supports everything Trump is doing - including handing Ukraine to Russia (after exploiting them for every resource they have), handing Palestine to Israel (after ensuring all the inhabitants have been obliterated), destroying global alliances that are the only thing maintaining world peace, and invading other countries - including my own!

He has the money and power to do this, and he is working on it all as we speak! Pull your head out of your goddamn asses, people - he's an imminent existential threat to this planet and everyone on it!

If you're on Twitter right now, you might as well be on Truth Social AFAIAC.

I have never liked Twitter - it's a cesspool of hate (as is evidenced by your ask, Anon), and always has been. Yeah, of course good things have been done on Twitter, and good people have been on there over the years, but those days are long past. The few stragglers still on there are constantly embroiled in drama and feuds, and the only reason they cling on is because they can't let go of the vanity of seeing the big follower numbers on their profiles.

There's absolutely no excuse for people to remain on Twitter. None. There's no rationale for remaining on a neonazi platform, propping up and validating this awful man. It's disgusting.

That there are still turtles on Twitter is a constant source of shame and grief for me, frankly. Those who are still on there show their lack of commitment to queer rights, human rights and equality, world peace, the environment and everything that is good and right in the world. They either lack the values or the moral courage to make a change.

And there's no excuse for it. There is a solid, fully featured (in fact, with all the features Twitter once had, but which that dirtbag removed or destroyed) alternative that is easy to migrate to. The community there is infinitely better, and most people already have an account, they just aren't using it.

I don't know what it will take, or how many more horrors we'll need to witness and experience before people wake the fuck up.

As for the petty arguments with XFX, block and ignore, and get off of Twitter. As fans we should be focused on GG and DD, not on the behavior of other fans. Block and ignore.

Or of course you can do whatever you want, but you asked my opinion, and here it is.

Person on twitter defends themselves from false accusations in a thread by saying they weren’t harassing anyone; random person on the internet ‘omg they are harassing GS’.

This is a perfect example of how this fandom creates a toxic environment and generates hate on hate.

Hey dear people on the internet, (blurring the name in the og post because this isn’t about right or wrong or pointing fingers, it’s about how things taken out of context can really re-shape the truth), it takes 5-10 minutes to look into that thread GS reposted to get the whole picture and see that in reality it’s ONE person (not an army) that answered to a ‘ship wars’ post that GS herself started. That person never harassed her for writing romy; it’s something people in the replies came up with and created false accusations which led to that exact answer.

And you know what? If you are not willing to spend that time to verify the situation - also completely valid because we can all enjoy the stories without dealing with content/fandom drama - then just don’t propagate a skewed perspective. There’s enough negativity in this weird particular ‘ship war’ without making things up.

It's funny to me also that this was the take from this specific tweet, but nobody is talking about how Gail Simone manages in one breath to both pull the ‘I am the authority’ card on one single fan and also make it sound like shipping characters is something to look down upon, something that she wouldn’t lower herself to. It’s a weird flex.

Anyway, this will be the last time I’ll speak of the GS mess cause it’s really not worth investing in negative content and drama. It’s always been a bit infuriating to see fans screaming bloody murder with non-existent ship wars (when they are often one-sided), but to see a well established creator contributing to this has been disheartening.

Twitter—X whatever it’s called has become nothing but a nightmare of Hive-Minded sadism. People going out of their ways to be so disgusting and hateful, being validated by hundreds of people cheering them on. Blocks don’t work. Reports are never taken seriously. And I’m so tired of seeing people—beautiful and creative people being targeted over a silly ship of all things.

The slurs. The derogatory language. The continuous incite of hate and targeting.

For nothing.

Now, there are bad apples from every tree and I acknowledge that. So I will never generalize one way or another and I obviously know it’s not isolated to LuNami. But man. You’d think LuNami was this horrendous problematic ship that conveyed crimes and abuse…

Anyways. I’m sorry for using your sweet comment for my rant but I’m so distraught over all of this. My friend, a sweet artist who has so much passion and talent had her art violated by these people. And now more of them are doing the same to other artists of the same ship. Its heartbreaking. And there’s nothing I can think of that will stop it.

I will be on here more often and instead of Twitter I will be using Blue Sky. My love for LuNami will never die, no matter how hard they try to kill it for me.

So, I saw the recent article on Loudwire regarding the Twitter uproar and criticism about Death Metal/Cannibal Corpse’s lyrics, and it got me thinking. What’s sick about music/art and making it is that we can pull apart seemingly repulsive subject matter and explore all sorts of stuff. Take a real good look at it. In a way that would not be done in real life. Artistic creation can be beautiful and a joy to consume and/or it can be about the most abhorrent and disgusting phenomena imaginable that no sane or respectable human being would actually participate in. Both are valuable and serve to fascinate and be delved into. What a lot of people outside of alternative culture don’t understand, is that not all art has to be easily accessible or attractive. 

The way I see it there are two separate realms:

Reality in which we live, where pain, suffering, and death are always possible, and individual actions/beliefs have real world impact on other beings. 

And, the creative process. In this particular situation, a realm where surreal, supernatural, macabre, and downright vile concepts can be explored through music completely victimless. No one is getting hurt, and none of what is explored is actually real. A place where the depths of death and our humanity can be discovered through pushing boundaries and vocal distortion. For those able to consume it, of course. 

If you think Cannibal Corpse/Death Metal/Metal in general is weird, triggering, and satanic? Fine. It’s not for you. Don’t listen to it. 

For those of us who do love this sort of thing, it’s invaluable. It is a gnarly horror movie for your ears. It gives us great pleasure to explore our humanity/mortality in a safe, detached way.

So, somebody sent me a tweet basically telling me how much they hate Shibata's comment about Samoa Joe's flower t-shirt and calling it fat shaming. I didn't see it that way, he was saying that it was not a good shirt on him for a comedy purpose. But I geddit, that sometimes people receive jokes differently and we ought to take that as a valid criticism.

However, this person was in the same breath howling in laughter when MJF did the same thing and worse. They defended it and called it because he's a heel therefore he's ALLOWED to say it. Shibata is a face, therefore he's not allowed to say it.

Sometimes I feel it's not the whole how insensitive the insults are, but who said it. On social media, the amount of Shibata getting the flack is ten times more than the number of white wrestlers (and he doesn't even say anything). This is a trend I've noticed. People are really gung-ho about the way Shibata talks (or lack of it) and the fact that he's not white and doesn't do promo.

I've seen insults against Riho, Mina, Rush, Shibata, Takeshita (MJF calling him Take A Shit), Kommander, Shota, Shida, Stephanie Vaquer, the NJPW and CMLL wrestlers, and many more - all because they aren't white and have some accents.

A recent one was when Rush had to deal with racists who chanted "WHAT" every time he opened his mouth. Now, devil's advocates would say that it's because he's a heel, therefore the audience was trying to provoke him. NO. We all know why.

But then I checked the amount of heat that Shibata gets compared to MJF; lo and behold - Shibata got a lot of heat for a nonchalant comedic comment compared to MJF who spent 10 minutes hurling insults. I feel like if you want to criticize, at least have the same fair amount of criticism as those who spend their years insulting others.

Shibata made a 5-second quip, and everyone was ready to jump him while everyone was behind MJF when he insulted Rush.

It's important to consider that some of the negative reactions to AEW's partnership with CMLL, NJPW, Stardom, and AAA are influenced by microaggression and xenophobia. The way some fans discuss Mexican and Japanese wrestlers, lucha libre, and Indians is concerning.

If people want to call wrestlers out, please do so. Criticize them whenever they do something problematic. However, I see the disproportion of criticism between those talents who are foreigners and those who aren't. It becomes North America vs other countries. The North American talent can't do no wrong while the foreign talent is always wrong. This ain't the attitude era anymore, I kinda hope we are already way past that.

(reminder that many don't hate MJF - I certainly don't. but I think some of us can give constructive criticism, especially regarding this subject).

So basically there are these people on Twitter/X spreading a whole bunch of shit to do with iv some even threatening to SA him if he comes down to barricade at one of Sleep Tokens future concerts…like and I quote ‘I’m going to cop an SA charge’

It honestly made me want to delete the app entirely and throw hands.

Your English is fine! It doesn't have to be perfect anyway, people. Even people who grew up with English as their first language sometimes struggle with how to express things. I'm not going to be grading anyone's messages. 😘

Regarding this issue, I want to remind everyone that following and reading what antis say anywhere is never a good idea. Their only purpose in life is to hate, and you should just edit that all the way out of your life. Block, ignore, and report when appropriate.

For background, there are some haters out there claiming that he followed a moto account that is a notorious cyberbully who slanders many celebrities.

I happen to be very intimately aware of who DD follows on Weibo, because I did a comprehensive post about it a while back. I know all of the patterns of who he tends to follow and their relationship to him.

DD absolutely does not follow any fan accounts, and never has. He does not follow the account in question.

The claim is that he followed this person and then quickly unfollowed them. I think that anyone with two brain cells to rub together can tell that is obviously an accidental follow. We have all done it at some point in our lives (and for some reason it only seems to happen with accounts we absolutely would not want to be associated with!).

If you've ever used the Weibo app, the follow button is a few millimeters away from the phone's back button, and it would be easy to accidentally follow somebody when you meant to go back to the previous page. Especially if you have huge hands like his.

Why would he be looking at the page of an anti? Probably for the same reason you were, Anon. Everyone has a morbid human curiosity about anti material for some reason, and they spend entirely too much time looking at it.

It's possible that he saw a hate comment about his husband and he wanted to see if it was someone claiming to be his fan. It's possible he saw something said 'in his name' that he didn't agree with. It's possible somebody mentioned that account as potentially in the next crop of people being sued. We will never know.

What we do know is that if he ever did follow them (and screen caps can be faked very easily, so I'm not even sure that's true), he doesn't follow them now.

Edit: apparently the supposed DD account wasn't him, it was faked. All the more reason to ignore this kind of BS.

These are the kinds of things that people can waste time hand-wringing over, when they are absolutely inconsequential.

The reality is that the people angrily spreading this story about him are just as horrible as the person they are claiming he followed. That is the irony of all of this. They are the exact same sort of person. They say and do all of the same horrible things as that account does.

The other irony is that all of this is happening on xitter - a platform no decent human being should still be participating in.

Anyone still on there is participating in a Neo-Nazi platform, and further legitimizing and lining the pockets of the richest, most corrupt dirtbag on the planet, who is right now actively engaged in an illegal, racist, anti-queer, anti-disabled, anti-kindness, self-serving fascist dismantling of the US democratic systems of government. That should be more worrying to you than this ridiculous story.

The fact that there are so many high profile turtles who still participate there is an ongoing source of deep embarrassment and shame for the fandom.

Why not leave that hateful platform to the antis and move over to BlueSky, which has all of the features needed and none of the baggage? Most of those turtles already have a presence on there, they just don't actually use their accounts. They need to find the moral courage to lead everybody to greener pastures.
