-each of the turtles is allergic to some kind of food to different degrees but doesn’t know it because they are mostly worms and algae their whole life; Leo = kiwi, Raph = soy, Mikey = peanuts, Donnie = shellfish (Leo and Donnie have the most severe reactions which is basically to just keel over and ascend/descend to the afterlife respectively)

-Donnie is allergic to bees

-April gets really bad seasonal allergies

-Casey is dyslexic

-Donnie has multiple burn marks and scars from blowing up his lab

-Casey’s family is lowkey ass and that’s why we don’t see them in the show

-Dr Rockwell gives Donnie constant shit for his lab procedures

-Donnie makes anonymous YouTube videos on IT topics and gets in arguments with people in the comments

-Casey is a trans guy

-Leo is cheating on the team with another Mazes and Mutants (D&D) group (where he plays the stupidest joke characters he can think of)

-Casey and Donnie drink near-fatal amounts of caffeine

-Casey smokes (both weed and cigarettes)

-Leo’s little healing hand trick can go way further and he can also practice other forms of magic (but once it’s discovered villains 100% go after him to abuse it)

-Both Casey and April fell behind in school as the series progressed but Donnie helped bail them out

-during the whole Broken Foot thing Leo lowkey stole a bunch of Shredder’s cash and found a way to put it in funds under April and Casey’s names (he found it very hard to justify stealing but he did it anyways)

-Casey is like 90% titanium rods like Jackie Chan

-Raph and Mikey bond over their love for animals a lot

-Casey has wanted a pet raccoon his whole life

-Whenever Casey insults Raph he will push back Casey’s bangs to reveal a comically large forehead

-Leo got lost in the sewers multiple times as a kid

-Miley got stuck in random places multiple times as a kid

-Donnie has a secret folder full of instructions on how make bombs

-Donnie 100% tracks everyone’s location

-Eventually after enough incidents they all started wearing little body cams Donnie made

-the boys have the DNA of multiple humans aside from Splinter and other animals since they made contact with them in the pet store

-there are WAY more mutants in New York than what is seen in the show

I’ve been in the hobby for 15+ years, I am not liking this recent rising trend of scammers in the hobby. And I’m not talking about an artist shipped their orders very late or even D0llshe, I’m talking they NEVER fulfilled orders and disappeared with peoples money.

Furby-0-Rama scammed people and hasn’t posted in two years as they’re “refunding people”. D0llnoize scammed people who preordered their heads and has not posted in two years. Vill!tunes has scammed people by having them wait since 2020 for their dolls and hasn’t posted in coming close to a year. L!l Devil Dr3ams scammed their sculptor for Persephone and nuked their account. M!randa of Cal! scammed artists and ruined their master copies of dolls with their sham of a casting company, also nuked their account and tried to pretend to be another company before they got caught and nuked that one too. Th3Bumf scammed people who pre-ordered their dolls, sent dolls with shoddy quality, scammed a person who commissioned them, and went private to avoid public accountability after saying they have no plan to ship out unfulfilled orders or refund people. Jp0p dolls scammed people and the artists they represent after Grace died and her daughter took over the company and nuked their website of 20 years when she disappeared with people’s money. And the grand daddy of them all, JJ D0ll Labs attempted to FAKE THEIR DEATH AND BEING HACKED TO AVOID SHIPPING ORDERS, they also nuked their account and hasn’t posted in a year on the new account.

8 INCIDENTS. And this is just in the last 4 YEARS.

And these are JUST dolls, and doesn’t include non-doll makers or secondhand sales.

This is BAD. Very bad

Usually it’s maybe one or two incidents every couple years or just counterfeiters scamming people, but with how frequent this has grown, now we have to worry if a new artist will run off with your money and never hear from them again. And doesn’t help that some of those people (L!l Devil Dr3ams, D0llnoize, and Furby) joined the hobby for a short while before jumping to start selling. Like these people truly don’t realize that them being irresponsible sellers could fuck over other genuine makers in this hobby if people become wary of supporting new artists or independent artists in general. It’s bad for EVERYONE involved.

I don’t know if it’s because this hobby has become accessible to the public as more time goes on because we are using social media instead of just DoA and the rise of BJD YouTubers, but Jesus fucking Christ, this is exhausting…..

I have a New Nintendo 2DS XL in white and orange. I’ve had it since September of 2017, making it almost seven years old! It’s held up really well in my opinion, especially seeing as it has been thoroughly abused and enjoyed by me since the age of 11. A particular incident springs to mind that occurred on a school trip— I dropped the damn ds on the floor and it slid around the aisle of the coach I was on until we stopped Dx

Some examples of my games!!! I originally took pictures of every single game but it was too many files for tumble to handle lol. The games I’m currently like super duper playing are Ace Attorney Investigations 2 (fan translation), miitopia and animal crossing new leaf! Casually tho I will occasionally pick up tomodachi life, project mirai dx and ofc I do my daily wordle on the ds lol.

My Bluetooth headphones broke a while back so I was exclusively listening to music on my disc Walkman, but I managed to get an mp3 player on my ds and now I can use this for all my music! It’s very handy and it works with the clam shell hingey thing shut :) plus because I have the rainbow light mod I can look at the rainbow light while my music is playing it’s kinda silly but it makes me happy idk if the reason is goofy lol. Also admire my sick ass taste in music!!!! You WISH you had as good taste in ska as me

I also have an mp4 player chock full of Dan and Phil and Shelbizleee videos for on the go which is fun especially seeing as I can no longer get YouTube working on my ds because they fucked up the app and the other app and the website :( thirdtube works for a lot of people but not me unforch

I also do most of my drawing on my ds nowadays purely for 1) the gimmick and 2) the chunky glitter pens that I hacked into swapdoodle. It’s nice to be able to do more drawing for fun again because I totally fell off last year and it’s good to enjoy things

BONUS: archive of our own is more than functional on the 3ds browser. It is a thoroughly enjoyable experience to use it on my ds! Purely for research purposes I have also found Pornhub is difficult to navigate but ultimately useable. And for once I haven’t actually been utilising this feature I literally just get curious. I’m honestly surprised at how his pc hasn’t set itself on fire by now with all of the cc he’s downloaded

If he’s decorating a house or making a sim and it’s not perfect then he’s hunting down the perfect cc to add to his collection

But let’s face it… his games are always perfect. He has the kind of houses and sims that make players like me cry because we could never

Somehow he remembers the names of every piece of cc he uses??? Like someone asks him where he got something from and he’s like “oh yeah it’s (set name) by (creator), I’ll send you the link right now”

The thing that breaks his heart the most is when there’s an update and it breaks his cc because now he has to get rid of it, but most of the time he can just redownload so that mends his little heart

Wants to learn how to make his own cc so he can make new swatches because that shade of yellow is slightly too bright for his sims’ house

He used to play the game just as it was, but then he was watching others play and saw them using fun mods

First downloaded a simple mod, like one that adds a few new hobbies for his sims

This honestly changes his life, his games will never be the same ever again

And that's how his mod collection begins, with just one small mod, and then whenever he's feeling spicy, he adds another

He gets bored with stuff like the jobs quite quick because he's tried it all, so he finds mods to give his sims more careers

And then when he's tried all of them, he'll add more (sometimes he's not that keen on a mod and deletes it, but not very often)

His favourite by far, though, is the royalty mod because he can make himself king (as he should) and rule over his peasants

Hanbin catches Yujin making him as a peasant whenever he's upset with him, like he refused to buy him ice cream or something… yeah he just closes the door and leaves him be

Not caught up with the Recreyo lore? NO PROBLEM! This post will be updating every time we get new lore!

Here’s the ENTIRETY of Recreyo lore;

So the glitches ur seeing are all Recreyo Chan. A girl originally used to promote Recreyo’s Anime NYC event! Her first appearance was on twitter, when it was still believed to be a gag. This girl is clearly the same. Matching blue hair and red neck tie. This was season 1 of course, so it was still a joke. But in season 2 she takes on a new light.

So her first MENTION takes place in ‘SCP The Sculpture’ where we can make a safe estimate that Recreyo Chan is the thing that is “keeping a special eye on the recreyo crew.” (Curt has stated that SCP is easier to work with because you can change things as well as said the SCP lore could leak into other episodes so thats how we know RC and SCP are connected) But we didn’t know what curt meant by this until the release of ‘Doctor Stone’. Where Recreyo Chan glitched into the video for a few moments before returning things back to normal.

After this ‘FNAF 4’ incident, the next week Curt uploaded a video titled ‘We need to talk.’ Addressing the glitches. His solution to combat the glitches was changing the upload schedule to every other week to *intensify the edits and get rid of the glitches*. This worked for the most part, EXCEPT for small glitches where a spiral (referencing the swirl design on her cheek). These spirals would only appear when they were breaking the fourth wall. Whether it be through the art looking like they’re grabbing the screen (‘Scream’) or talking directly to the animators (‘The Menu’). These spirals originated in the 4th SCP episode ‘SCP Plague doctor’ where the plague doctor referred to an IT. This IT obviously being Recreyo Chan.

In ‘Rizz, Marry, Kill’ instead of the typical spiral, Curt *spiraled* out of the video into a blank void where he asks “Now..?” before getting transported back into the video. This shows he was self aware of the glitch happening.. After a few weeks of episodes that show Recreyo Chan always on the outside looking in at Curt, finally the long awaited ‘SCP Security Breach’ was finally dropped. Throughout the video, Curt seemed removed and monotone. Something is clearly off. Once we reach the end of the episode, the Recreyo Crew come across a portal, which Curt has been leading them to throughout the episode. Except now we truly can tell, Curt wasn’t the one leading them to the portal. It was Recreyo Chan, who seemed to shape-shift into him. She closes out the scenario with the chilling line “now I have everything I need to end the scenario”. After this, Curt’s voice and body have fully transformed and we see her true form.

But YouTube isn’t the only thing Recreyo Chan has been attempting to hack. The Official Recreyo discord has been hacked by an account on the 31st of March, and was assumed to be an April fools prank. This user originally named “ca” terrorized the server and even hacked curt, turning Curt’s profile into a creepy blue light, his name to ca as well. Den ended up banning him, only for him to return a day later. Every Friday, or day of a post, this user has been adding a letter to their name every day. What was originally “Ca” is now “Can you”. We originally believed she could be spelling out “Can you survive”, as it is a common phrase used in their video titles. However now, we believe she could be spelling out “Can you hear me” After joining a call and changing everyone’s names to one of the letters “C, A, N, Y, O, U, or H”

In the aforementioned call that this mysterious account joined, they played strange audio, we are yet to understand the meaning of the audio, but it seems the first is weird glitching audio, while the other sounds like scraping or mechanical noises.

Another website we can find Recreyo Chan on is pleasestopareyoulisteningcanyouhear.me . On this website we can hear Curt talking about the laws of physics and possibilities of other universes (an obvious reference to the portals we’ve been seeing in the episodes lately) In the background you can hear the others having a normal conversation and you can tell this happens before a recording because Ivan says “We’re ready to clap now.” to Curt. (Clapping is how they sync their audio in recordings.) If you want the transcript of the audio I have another post detailing it!

Hello, Anon, this is your OCDA™️. I’ve read your sentiments and as a bona fide Chinese person who had experienced discrimination IRL, perhaps I am qualified to put in my two cents about what you consider to be unchecked Sinophobia.

The way I think of it, Anon, is that Sinophobia is not a “doll hobby problem.” No, far from it. Sinophobia, just as racism, ableism, or discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity, is a much bigger, societal problem that touches on geopolitical and historical precedents. What we see here in the doll community is but a tiny sliver of it. According to the latest favourability scale of China completed by Morning Consult of 2022 (can be seen here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Chinese_sentiment ), Sinophobia's existence and extent depend on where you live. While many of the developing countries in the world have a favourable view of China as a state and a people, the same cannot be said about the rest of the developed world. Just as you’ve pointed out, Japan and Korea, the other two main “doll countries” in Asia, happen to have the highest unfavourable opinion of China. It’s really no wonder that from the viewpoint of doll collectors (esp. Japanese doll collectors), Sinophobia is rampant and visible. (Not always true with resin dolls, apparently. Most Japanese and Korean collectors still collect Chinese dolls as far as I know.)

As an “oldie”, your OCDA had lived through the Tiananmen Square Incident, the poisoned Sanlu milk powder incident, SARS, Bird Flu, HK uprising and now COVID. I spent a good portion of that time outside of Asia, which afforded me a first-hand view on how a Chinese person is perceived during these episodes (no, not very well. Being spit on by a panhandler wasn’t something to boast about.) However, because I did spend quite a bit of time outside of Asia (hence the “diaspora” bit), it also afforded me a different perspective of why Chinese folks were disliked.

While developing countries are usually the recipient of Chinese largess from the Belt and Road Initiative (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belt_and_Road_Initiative ), the developed countries tend to see the Chinese as tourists and masters of mercantilism. With Japan and Korea as the closest travel destination, these two places see the unruliest behaviour from Chinese tourists most often. Sometimes, the anti-Japan sentiment (and to a lesser extent, anti-Korean) sentiment brewing inside China has been used as an excuse for bad behaviour while the Chinese are abroad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AFXvN4xrbM )

This is not confined in Asia, of course, with recent cases such as in England https://www.businessinsider.com/brendan-kavanagh-chinese-youtuber-pianist-demand-live-stream-face-police-2024-1#:~:text=A%20pianist's%20live%20stream%20went,right%20to%20stream%20in%20public and in NYC https://www.reddit.com/r/China/comments/10fwizj/chinese_tore_off_a_poster_with_lunar_new_year_in/ )

Sometimes even the news outlets had to fight for a straight face in light of the Chinese tourists’ antics (https://www.scmp.com/video/china/3244656/gondola-capsizes-after-tourists-refuse-stop-taking-selfies ) But “big fails” aside, the lack of respect usually exhibited by Chinese tourists is bad enough that places such as Kyoto are forced to protect themselves (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/mar/08/kyoto-geisha-district-tourist-ban-gion ).

During the same period, the invasive mercantilism exhibited by cheap Chinese exports usually make their way to the news in a slightly more political angle. The European Commission is trying to fight the influx of government-subsidized, cheap EVs by enacting legislation (https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/eu-set-allow-possible-retroactive-tariffs-chinese-evs-2024-03-05/#:~:text=The%20Commission%20is%20carrying%20out,impose%20provisional%20duties%20in%20July. ) citing public safety (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13292973/China-paralyse-Britain-kill-hacking-electric-car-deadly-traffic-jams-EDWARD-LUCAS.html ) Very recently in the news, the American government is on its way to ban TikTok due to national security and digital safety reasons (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/14/why-has-the-us-passed-a-bill-to-ban-tiktok-and-whats-next ).

As the citizen of this or that country and where you currently reside, there is a lot to be said about Sinophobia: it’s historical, it’s cultural, it’s geopolitical, it’s financial, but most important of all, it’s complicated. What we end up seeing in the doll community is just a small glimpse into each individual collector’s personal take on things. Fewer doll collectors live in countries that have a statistically more favourable view of China. The bad behaviours from the tourists certainly do leave a bad taste in their wake, and what you end up with is the impression that there’s rampant Sinophobia. But the truth, well, it’s always a little bit more complicated than that.
