words count: long read
fem reader! x Sebastian Sallow
warning: jealous Sebastian
summary: Sebastian looks like her bestfriend under the sunlight, but as soon as the night comes the lines get blurry and everyone's obvious to it.
part one, I guess?
English is not my first language, trying my best, enjoy :)
Tumblr media
Sebastian was known for being a charmer and a good learner; people whispered about his ability in dueling and his look was praised by many.
He had a habit of breaking the rules and he was stubborn, as much as it was allowed.
What most people didn’t know about him though was that the boy had in fact scares so deep, every once in a while they started to bleed.
And god was Sebastian Sallow hot headed.
"Ominis!" You couldn’t help but wrap your arms around the boy’s neck as soon as you saw him.
"I missed you" you whispered into the boy’s chest, his arms slowly holding you closer.
"Well well, isn’t this our very own savior" the boy muttered smiling.
After everything that had happened the year prior, Ominis had been a constant in your life; exchanging letters almost every day over summer, the two of you had met up to hang out a few times too.
He used to tell you about his family issues while you confessed yours.
Your bond became so strong you felt he was the brother you never had.
"Y/n!" You turned your head just in time to see Anne sprint your way and wrap her arms around your torso.
"Anne" you smiled, embracing her, "it’s good to see you".
She looked good, you couldn’t help but notice, her cheeks were pink, and she seemed to have gained a few pounds too; she was surely looking much better than the last time you had saw her.
"I can’t tell you how excited I am to be back, even if I have a load of work to catch up to", a breath and then a whisper: "uncle Solomon won’t admit it but he’s happy he is finally alone".
Anne left your side then to crush into Ominis.
That’s when your eyes had met his.
"No hugs for me?" The boy had asked, with that same playful tone you’ve grown to love.
If possible, your smile grew bigger.
"Sebastian" you mumbled, letting the brunette cage you in a hug.
Sebastian had always been your light in your time at Hogwarts: with all the fights, the heartbreak and the laughters he had somehow guided you through your first year in the magical world.
Sticking by his side at first felt natural, like you two were somehow tied together; that was, until you grew attached and your new best friend felt more like a man to you.
Everyone knew: you, Sebastian and Ominis were a solid trio, when you were looking for one you always found the other two nearby.
But this year, with the newfound health of Anne since the death of Lockwood, your trio was about to become a quartet and you were somehow excited.
"How have you been?" You whispered in Sebastian’s ear, his nose brushing against your hair as he muttered back: "Good, kinda missed you".
"Come on guys! We’re gonna be late!" Anne was excitedly pushing you towards the great hall before you could protest.
Back in your seats, with Sebastian’s shoulder brushing against yours, you realized how affected you actually were by his presence.
This year was going to be a long one…
The morning after, you woke up to an excited Anne walking around the room putting on her robes as she was chased by Imelda’s harsh insults.
"Please shut up" the brunette pleaded as the Sallow girl kept on rumbling how exciting this whole journey was going to be.
"It’s first day, can you guys believe it?" She squitted, disappearing into the Common room, leaving you two behind.
"I swear if she doesn’t calm down".
When you saw the girl again you couldn’t help but notice her bright eyes as she was laughing with Ominis at the Breakfast table.
"Goodmorning" you spoke, approaching your friends, sliding swiftly beside Sebastian.
"Good morning to you" the boy spoke, gently brushing your shoulder once you were seated.
"What were you guys talking about?"
"Ah! They were vexing me" Sebastian spoke "it is fortunate you came to rescue me".
"Oh Sallow, how many times will I have to save your ass?"
Anne chuckled out loud as Sebastian let out a scoff "nevermind, you’re even worse than them"
Before heading to your first lesson of the day, Charms, you passed by the Gryffindor table, hoping to see the friends you still haven’t had the opportunity to meet.
"Natty!"
The girl turned around with a smile, "y/n! How have you been? Did you receive my owl?"
"I very much did, thank your granny for those cookies, they were amazing".
"Which cookies? And why didn’t I get any?" Garreth’s voice rose from beside natty as you aknolowged the boy.
His red hair were longer and his shoulders broader, it was hard to tell since he was seated, but you could definetly say he had grown up.
"Shut up, Garreth" Natty had dismissed the boy as you left the table.
Ominis was waiting for you at the entrance as you both left to class.
That night, seated by the fire in your common room, you were reading a book while Anne was making small conversation with Imelda.
You didn’t know how the conversation led to it, but Grreth’s name was brought up, Imelda noticing how much the ginger had grown over summer, pointing out he would have made a fine beater.
"You were talking to him this morning, weren’t you y/n?"
Your attention was suddenly brought back to the present.
"Yes", "could there be something tender?" Imelda smirked as your nose left the pages to focus on the conversation.
"Obviously not" you had replied, to which Anne softly smiled, "Imelda, quiet down, people are gonna hear us".
"You’re no fun" she had replied, changing topic.
That night, as you lied in bed, you kept on asking yourself if in fact you were somehow charmed by Weasley, or any boy for that matter and the answer came like a whisper, so soft you couldn’t hear it either.
"Who do you think is gonna make team this year?" Anne had asked, walking with you, Omins and Sebastian to Hogsmade.
"Why do you suddenly care about Quidditch?" Sebastian had asked.
"I haven’t seen a game in ages!" She replied stern.
The bickering between twins bringing a smile to your face as you locked your arm with Ominis, "hey you".
While the twins bickering fell into the background, Ominis turned to you "what about this thing with Weasley?"
"Ominis!" You scolded suddenly, taken aback by his comment, "how do you know?"
Ominis scrolled his shoulders "so it is true? You fancy him?"
"Who fancies whom?" Sebastian had token a step forward, suddenly intrigued by your discussion with Omins as you held the blond boy’s arm tighter, that was enough of an answer for him.
"Oh nobody, just stupid chatters" the boy dismissed before Sebastian could investigate further.
The thought of you fancying someone hunted the boy for the rest of the day, even when the night had quieted the chatter down and everyone went to sleep.
He couldn’t stop thinking about it, so he left the warmth of his bedsheets, putting on a green and silver jumper and disappearing into the corridors.
Making his way to the common room Sebastian was surprised to see someone else there.
Their head was stuck in a book and their legs curled up onto the couch.
He had recognized right away the silhouette and he felt like smiling.
You had escaped your room that night, determined to finish the book you had been reading.
It didn’t startle you when you felt a weight pop beside you on the couch, instead you couldn’t help but smile when Sebastian lowered the book from your hands, meeting your gaze.
"Come back to me, will you?" He had whispered chuckling.
"I was just about to find out where the main character had disappeared to" you answered, your smile betraying your fake annoyance.
Sebastian chuckled again, his gaze shifting towards the fire.
"Couldn’t sleep?" You asked then, your gaze worried.
The boy hummed.
This scene had happened so many times already: the boy sadly confessing the pain of his sister’s illness to you, in the dark of the common room, only allowing himself to be vulnerable in your presence.
But this time, this time his sister was better, sleeping peacefully upstairs and you were there, with your eyes sleepy and your skin warm.
So Sebastian found himself smiling as he looked your way.
Your arm was resting on the back of the couch as it held your heavy head up, you were facing him, your breathing softly pleasant.
"Do you really fancy someone?" The boy found himself ask, suddenly.
You chuckled, looking at him playfully.
"Why?" You had asked.
"Just curious, you never told me you liked someone".
"It’s not- it’s Imelda starting stupid rumors to see me flustered, that’s all" you reassure.
He could finally relax, his back meeting the cushions as his fingers traveled to your leg.
"You want to finish the book, don’t you?"
"It’s fine" you laughed, but Sebastian didn’t buy it.
"Come on, finish it, I’ll keep you company".
It was hard to focus back on the story, with his hand tracing small circles above your bare leg, but it became quickly a gentle caress as you kept on reading.
It was ten minutes later when you started to get sleepier.
"Seb" you muttered closing the book, the boy humming while looking at you.
"We should get some sleep".
"Maybe we should"
Neither of you making the move to leave.
"I’m comfy" you admit laughing softly.
"Let’s not leave yet, then" he spoke.
The fire was cracking in the background when you shifted, moving closer to the boy, your head now resting on his shoulder as you fell into the warmth of his body.
Sebastian held his hand firmer on your leg now, helping you get closer, as he rested his head on top of yours.
"Would you tell me?" He asked then.
"Tell you what?"
"If you fancied someone, would you tell me?"
"Yes Sebastian, if I’ll ever find someone pleasant enough, I promise I will tell you first".
Four weeks had passed since the start of term and with October approaching the air had got chillier and the days shorter.
You had spent the last three hours in the library, making a research for a new species of mimbulus mimbletonia, something professor Sharp believed to be absolutely essential and you were ready to hide into the comfort of your room and fall asleep.
"Y/n!"
Your eyes travelled the room till they settled on the young man dressed in red and gold making his way towards you.
"Hey, Garreth"
"Hey" he smiled softly, "were you headed to your common room?"
"Yes"
"Mind if I accompany you?"
"Hu? Ah no, you can come".
You and the boy left the library, heading for the dungeons.
"I was wondering if you had a spere hour tomorrow morning? If I can be honest with you I’m not keeping up well with Onai’s crap about tea leaves".
You couldn’t help but slip a laugh.
"So now you’re laughing at me?" a playful smile plastered on his lips.
"No, no, I’m sorry."
You turned to your right, Garrett following behind as you started to walk down the stairs.
"I have a free hour right after breakfast, sounds good?".
Garreth’s smile widened "sound lovely to me".
"What is it that you fail to get about the art of predicting catastrophes?" You teased as the boy stroke his neck.
"I seem to prefer to see only the bright side"
Letting out a stern chuckle you jumped the last step, the sliver snake appearing on the wall as you turned around to face the ginger.
"First lesson: there are no bright sings in divination".
You herd someone caugh as you turned around, Sebastian was lying by the door, his eyes locked onto you.
"Goodnight, Garreth" you spoke as you made your way into the Slytherin common room.
Garreth looking at you disappear before Sebastian followed inside and the door turned to be a wall again.
"Escorted by Weasley, huh?"
The sound of the water fountain running in your ears as you made your way downstairs with Sebastian.
"It seems so" you had replied distracted, something that sent Sebastian’s soul on fire.
As soon as you stepped into the common room, Imelda’s voice rose up.
"So I was right? Weasley boy for the win?"
You scoffed and Sebastian felt his body go still.
Were you really going out with that loser?
He didn’t know how much it bothered him, until the following day, at breakfast as he was talking about something funny that happened in his class you excused yourself, mumbling you had to meet up with someone.
Of course, that someone was Weasley and of course, as impulsive as he was, he was tempted to follow you.
"Sebastian" Ominis had called, sensing the shifting of his robes, "please don’t do it".
Sebastian had scoffed then, returning to his place, violently eating was was left in his plate.
He had time to calm down until he saw you again: your shoulders were moving up and down softly as you rested your head on a potion’s book, peacefully swimming into sleep.
It felt like his anger disappeared for a second as he pulled a chair close to yours, his own head resting on the table as he looked at you.
He stole a few glances at your harmless form, before squeezing your shoulder softly.
He felt like choking when you softly smiled at him as soon as you your eyes opened.
"Sebastian" you spoke, a voice so soft he thought he had never heard something more adorable in his life.
"Why are you resting your head on the table?" You had asked then, to which Sebastian smiled.
"I heard this is were we take naps" the boy teased as you shifted softly, a strand of hair falling into your eyes.
Sebastian’s finger brushed it off softly, moving a strand behind your ear, discovering your face once again.
That gesture might have woken you up suddenly because you jumped on your seat, quickly collecting your things.
"Oh god, I really fell asleep!"
"Hey, hey, calm down there, will you?"
But your panic only increased as you saw what time it was.
"I was supposed to meet Garrett half an hour ago!"
"Garret? Again?"
"Yes, we didn’t get to finish this morning"
If he had known that waking you up would have resulted in you leaving him behind for Weasley, he would have much preferred watching you sleep.
Sebastian got up at the same time as you, his anger coming back to him in waves, "does Weasley really need your help?".
You looked taken aback "yes, he has told me himself he needs help in divination".
Sebastian chuckled darkly, "and he asked you?"
"Are you saying I’m not competent enough?" Your demeanour suddenly changed and Sebastian witnessed as your soft aura started to tint black.
He knew this side of you, he had seen it one to many times and it didn’t scare him, in fact, it fascinated him.
The fire in your eyes was matched now, as Sebastian grew taller.
"I’m saying you wouldn’t be the first person that pops into my mind".
You scoffed then, holding the books closer to your chest, pride filling your lungs.
"How about you leave the adults to study and mind your business?"
"The adults?"
"Yes you child"
You tried to turn away from him then, but the boy wouldn’t let you go far.
"Hey! Don’t turn your back on me while I’m talking!"
"You’re not talking Sebastian, you’re behaving like a five years old"
"Said the one who can’t finish a conversation like two mannered people!"
Your eyes got bigger "are you saying I’m not well mannered either?"
A sigh escaped your lips "listen Sallow-"
"Sallow?"
"That’s still your name isn’t it?"
"Thought you preferred to call me something else".
That unusual use of words didn’t go unheard from you, as you stared deep into the boy’s orbits.
"Careful there, Sallow, you sound almost-"
"Almost what?" The brunette challenged you.
You felt your blood boil as a voice raised from the students around"get a room!" Someone yelled out.
"Shut it!" You both replied, parting ways, boiling inside, holding hands with pride.
"She’s so stubborn!" Sebastian huffed.
"Mh what a news" Omins mumbled.
"It’s just, do you even think she’s good in divination?"
Ominis did seem startled by the question, but he answered nonetheless.
"I mean, is there a thing y/n is not good at?"
Sebastian couldn’t answer as he sighed flustered.
"He’s a nightmare Anne!" Y/n complained pacing back and forward into their room.
The twin of her best friend, who was at the moment an annoying prick, was resting on her bed, trying to take care of a strange purple plant.
The Sallow girl hummed, listening to her friend rumble.
"He practically attacked me! Saying I’m incompetent? After everything I did?"
"You know he doesn’t think that about you" Anne scolded.
"But he said it! The way he was looking at me Anne, I felt like jinxing him on the spot!"
The twin left a chuckle, "you know he’s protective of you y/n".
Y/n fell into the bed, her hands tight knots as she sighed flustered, "the way that boy riles me up!"

POV: You Can’t Visualize & That’s Okay
Okay, so imagine a red apple—oh wait, you can’t? Same, bestie. While everyone else is out here summoning entire cinematic universes in their heads, our brains are just…vibing in the void. If you’ve ever felt like your imagination button is broken, welcome to the aphantasia club. No, you’re not alone. No, you’re not weird. Your brain is just built different (and honestly, kinda iconic for that).
The Daily Struggles of an Aphant:
We may not get to see mental pictures, but we do get to experience these classic moments:
Guided meditations? A scam. “Picture a peaceful forest.” Ma’am, all I see is darkness and confusion.
Reading books? I love reading, but every character has the same blurry, default NPC face. I am simply trusting the author that they look the way they said.
Daydreaming? More like thought-processing with vibes only. People get lost in vivid fantasies, and we’re just…thinking.
Trying to manifest? I see absolutely nothing, but I believe in it, and sometimes that’s enough. Manifestation powered by pure faith.
But Hey, We Have Our Own Magic yk that?
Aphantasia isn’t a flaw; it’s just a different way of thinking. And honestly? It comes with some serious perks.
Overthinking? We don’t know her. We remember things, but we don’t have to see them play out in excruciating detail. Intrusive thoughts? We keep those in text format, not IMAX.
Scary movies don’t haunt us. Everyone else is losing sleep over a horror film, and we’re chilling like, “Can’t be scared of what I can’t picture.”
Our memories are less cringe-inducing. That embarrassing thing you did years ago? You remember it, but at least you don’t have to replay it.
Fast learners. We process ideas quickly without getting stuck in a mental slideshow. Straight to the point, no distractions.
Your Brain Is Beautiful, Even If It’s Not a Movie Theater, trust me cause wtf do you mean I'm not like others?
The world makes it seem like visualization is the only way to imagine, but that’s not true. You can be creative, artistic, and imaginative without seeing pictures in your head. You do think deeply. You do experience emotions just as strongly. Your thoughts are just as rich, even if they don’t come with a visual component.
So if you’re an aphant, give your brain some love. You’re not broken, you’re just wired uniquely—and that’s kinda magical. Your imagination is still real, even if you can’t see it. And honestly? You’re still an absolute icon.

😸💚 anon requested: Hello!! Could I possibly ask for Satan with prompt 55? Maybe with fem!MC who is shy and sweet? I cannot stop thinking about the dynamic of opposites interacting with each other!

Though his room is nothing but a towering maze of books only lit by candlelight, you find it oddly comforting; as long as you manage to not trip on any of his "to read" piles.
You found the tome you were looking for, a hefty treatise on rare herbs and their magical uses. Carefully, you find your way back to Satan, descending the spiral staircase with the book in tow.
"I was worried you had gotten lost," says the demon as you plop down on his bed with a small "oof."
Dust is sent flying to the floor as you wipe your hand across the cracking leather cover, "We should make a map of your room."
Satan crinkles his nose at the idea, "I already have a system in place."
"I know," you say as you open the book in your lap, carefully flipping through the pages until you get to the table of contents, "I'd like to learn your system. I'm a visual learner, so I think a map would help."
The Avatar of Wrath mumbles grumpily, "Fine. I'll draw one later..." Yet he is already reddening, a delicate blush blooming across his cheeks. He buries his face in his book, though he peers at you over its edge, "Are you going back to your room now that you have what you sought?"
"Can I stay with you?" You ask without hesitation. The implication of your question makes you flush with your own embarrassment, so you hold up the tome as defense, "I mean - uh, this book is so old! And I don't want to risk damaging it. Better if I read it here, right?"
Satan, with a knowing smile and demon strength, wraps an arm around your waist and drags you to sit in his lap. He encourages you to lean into him, back pressed firmly to his chest as he makes himself comfortable, "Yes. Stay."
Fire rushes to your face and to your core. His room always smells of books, a blend of fresh ink on virgin paper and the irreplicable vintages of pages older than time itself. Now Satan's scent comes into the fore; notes of amber, rose, and cedar from his cologne, the simple yet clean smell of detergent that clings to his shirt - it's intoxicating.
You shove the insane notion that you're turned on merely by his scent away. Even if arousal is building between your thighs, you try to distract yourself with the reason you came here in the first place. Finding the chapter you need, you begin the harrowing ordeal of reading about shadow saffron.
But you can't settle down; the author's writing is dry, the pulsing need you feel is becoming uncomfortable, leaving you to fidget in Satan's lap.
The arm around your waist tightens, "Stay still."
"I'm sorry, I just need to adjust--," You sheepishly answer, going to stand up.
Satan's hand shifts lower, fingers splayed across your lower stomach as he stops you. Within a second, he pulls you back to his lap and onto his hardening cock that strains against the confines of his jeans.
"Stay. Still." He warns, his hand now caressing your thigh.
Your voice is caught in your throat, brain short-circuiting at how quickly the situation has changed. It is not unwelcome - Satan's hand is warm as he guides your legs apart. Teasing fingers run along your inner thigh, always stopping shy of your core.
The tome is clutched to your chest, your only anchor to the real world as Satan decides to take you on a fantastical adventure.
"The princess whines under the delicate touch of her knight. He's been her faithful servant, her ardent protector, always carefully watching. His love for her has transcended his role; the city could burn down around him; all he needed was her."
His breath tickles your ear as he reads from the book perched in his free hand. Has he been reading Amour Courtois smut this entire time?
Satan's hand undoes the button on your pants, "He always told himself that he would never let it get to this point. No knight could ever marry a lady of her status; it was pointless to want for something so clearly forbidden."
You softly whine when his hand slips past the hem of your panties, gathering your growing wetness on his fingers as he leisurely drags them across your slit.
"Yet here she was, bare on the bed of the inn, proclaiming her own devotion and need for him. As his fingers made quick work of her clit, he began to palm himself through his own pants. Love that borders on possession is as dangerous as it is arousing; it is damning for them both."
Two fingers easily slide into your cunt, and you have to bite your lip to keep your moan from ringing out. Satan presses a reassuring kiss to your temple.
"Still, he can't help the growing need to own her completely like she owns him. Commanding a princess would surely mean his head, but still, it slips off his tongue: "Only I get to touch you like this, okay?"

Simon's gf giving him head and she's so nervous and insecure cause it's her first time :'(
guide me*
smut, 18+ content(oral-m recieving)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Y/n had never done it before, and the thought of it made her stomach turn with nerves. She didn't want to disappoint Simon or make a fool of herself. But one night, as they were cuddled up on the couch watching a movie, Simon's hand started to wander down Y/n's body, and she knew what he wanted.
She couldn't avoid it any longer. She took a deep breath and turned to face Simon, who was looking at her with a mix of desire and concern. 'Are you sure you want to do this?' he asked, gently running his fingers through her hair.
Y/n nodded, trying to hide her nerves. 'I want to make you feel good,' she replied, her voice shaky.
Simon smiled and leaned in to kiss her. 'You don't have to do anything you're not comfortable with, Y/n. I'll always respect your boundaries,' he reassured her.
With his words of comfort, Y/n's nerves started to ease, and she felt more confident. She took a deep breath and leaned down, kissing Simon's chest before slowly making her way down to his stomach.
Simon let out a soft moan as Y/n's lips trailed down his body, and he couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked in that moment. Her hair falling around her face, her eyes focused on him, and her lips slightly parted in anticipation.
As Y/n reached his waistband, she looked up at Simon with uncertainty. He gave her a reassuring smile and nodded, silently giving her permission to continue. Y/n took a deep breath and slowly pulled down his boxers, revealing his hard length.
She couldn't help but blush as she looked at him, unsure of what to do next. Simon could sense her nerves and reached down to gently guide her hand towards him. 'Just follow my lead, Y/n. I'll talk you through it,' he whispered.
Y/n nodded and slowly wrapped her hand around him, her fingers trembling slightly. She started to move her hand up and down, following Simon's lead as he instructed her on the right amount of pressure and speed.
Simon let out a soft groan as Y/n's hand worked its magic, and he couldn't help but feel proud of her. She was doing a great job for her first time, and he wanted to make sure she knew it.
'Good girl,' he whispered, running his fingers through her hair. 'Now, take me into your mouth.'
Y/n's eyes widened with nervousness, but she did as she was told. She slowly took him into her mouth, using her hand to continue stroking him. Simon let out a low moan as he felt her lips around him, and he couldn't resist tangling his fingers in her hair.
He continued to guide her, showing her how to use her tongue and how to vary her movements. Y/n was a quick learner, and soon she was taking him in deeper and using her hands and mouth in perfect harmony.
Simon was lost in the pleasure Y/n was giving him, but he couldn't help but notice how tense she was. He could tell she was still nervous, and he wanted to make sure she was enjoying herself.
'Y/n, how are you feeling?' he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Y/n pulled away slightly and looked up at him, her eyes filled with uncertainty. 'I'm okay, I think. I just don't want to mess up or disappoint you,' she admitted.
Simon smiled and cupped her cheek, his thumb gently stroking her skin. 'You could never disappoint me, Y/n. You're doing an amazing job. Just relax and enjoy it,' he encouraged her.
With Simon's words of reassurance, Y/n felt more confident, and she started to relax. She let go of her nerves and focused on the pleasure she was giving Simon.
Simon's moans grew louder as he got closer to his release, and he could tell Y/n was getting tired. 'You can stop now, baby. I'm close,' he panted.
Y/n pulled away and looked at him, her lips slightly swollen and her cheeks flushed with arousal. 'Are you sure? I can keep going,' she offered.
Simon shook his head and pulled her up to his level, kissing her deeply. 'You did amazing, Y/n. Now, let me finish you off,' he said, guiding her down onto the couch.
With Y/n lying on her back, Simon positioned himself between her legs, giving her one last reassuring smile before diving down to pleasure her. Y/n's moans filled the room as Simon worked his magic, and she couldn't believe how incredible it felt.
As they both reached their climax, Simon couldn't help but feel grateful for Y/n's trust and her willingness to please him. He couldn't have asked for a better girlfriend, and he made sure to tell her that as they lay cuddled up together afterwards.

still rotating werewolf AUs because I am a humble woman and I have never forgotten my history (being obsessed with werewolves in middle school). here's yet another concept: in which Zuko gets himself abducted by an ancient wolf spirit because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and checked all of the spirit's boxes.
freshly burnt and banished, zuko arrives in the earth kingdom. his bandages have only just come off. he's avoiding his reflection. he doesn't want to see the constant reminder of how his face has been permanently changed. he's chasing even the tiniest hint of a whisper of a rumor of the avatar, even as others laugh at him for it. they say it's a hopeless quest- that his father is just trying to get rid of him.
that can't be true. his father wouldn't do that.
his father cares for him. this is all just to teach him a lesson. he's just a slow learner, that's all. if he really hated him, he would have burned him worse. he reshaped half of his face, but he could have done worse. he can't look at himself in the mirror anymore without seeing someone he doesn't recognize. he could have done worse.
zuko doesn't find the spirit. the spirit finds him.
iroh is with him, but there is nothing he can do. he has heard the stories, told in hushed whispers throughout the earth kingdom. there is a great wolf spirit, as ancient as they come, that wanders the earth kingdom. at her heels are her children- once-humans whom the great wolf spirit took and transformed into wolves. it is said that she seeks out children who are lost (in more ways than one)- who feel abandoned and outcast by their families. betrayed. hurt. isolated.
zuko is deeply, deeply vulnerable to the spirit's magic.
iroh notices something is wrong before they even see the spirit. there is an unnatural fog that was not there moments ago. he calls out to zuko, telling him they should turn back- but his nephew does not seem to hear him. he stumbles forward into the fog. iroh follows, trying to catch up to him, but he does not seem to be able to.
then he sees the shape in the fog, as big as the trees.
he calls out zuko's name. zuko stops, but he does not turn back. he's looking up at the spirit. the spirit approaches him. iroh calls out zuko's name again- and still he does not hear him. he cannot get any closer. the great spirit will not allow it. he can only watch as zuko's form shifts- as a black wolf takes the place of his nephew. he calls zuko's name again-
-and this time he looks back, but there is no recognition in the eyes of the scarred wolf.
the fog is gone- and with it, the spirit and his nephew. iroh sinks to his knees in despair. he has already lost lu ten- and now he has lost zuko as well. then he takes a deep breath, in and out. no. the great wolf spirit is old and powerful, but he does not think she is unreasonable. iroh will find a way to get his nephew back.
he learns to track the spirit's movements. it is easiest to find her on the night of the full moon- the moon spirit herself seems to guide iroh. every full moon, he seeks out his nephew. at first the great wolf spirit does not allow him to get close, but overtime she seems to grow amused. zuko is easy to recognize amongst her pack. iroh speaks to his nephew, spending as much time with him as the spirit will allow- but his nephew never seems to recognize him.
(then one day, the old man with sad eyes and kind hands stops coming. zuko waits, but he does not appear. he decides he will search for him. mother is reluctant to let him leave the pack- but eventually, she allows it. she grants him a human form so that his search might be easier- but every full moon, he will return to his wolf shape.
or: while she is searching for sokka and aang after hei bai kidnaps the former, katara stumbles upon a weird boy. he says his name is zuko. he is searching for someone too. katara doesn't know the old man that he describes, but zuko still helps her try and find her friends. aang and sokka come back out of the spirit world to find katara has added a new member to their group.
local werewolf gets adopted by team avatar. why does some part of him find that deeply ironic?)

The Villain’s Weapon Pt. 2
Summary: When you hit your head and lose your memory, you fall into Loki's clutches.
Warnings: 18+ ONLY. Minors DNI. Smuttish. Memory loss. Villain Loki. Thanos.
A/N: Thank you @lokisgoodgirl for helping me get out of the corner I wrote myself into. ❤️
See my Masterlist here
Part One
Your breath hitches as your back presses against Loki’s hard torso. His arms wrap around you before slinging you down. He stands above you, and something about it feels familiar. Probably memories of him training you before. He reaches his hand out to help you up.
“That’s enough of that kind of training for today. After lunch, I will help you with your magic.” You follow him down to the basement area. He introduces you to Dr. Selvig who is helping him with the Tesseract. He gives you a tour, trying to jog your memory. He was still the only constant so far. He felt safe. He felt like home.
You held your hand out, concentrating. “It’s no use, Loki. I don’t remember how.” You sigh, ready to give up after twenty minutes had passed. Loki comes up behind you, placing his arm on yours, guiding yours upward. “Don’t think too hard. My mother taught me that it should come naturally. Close your eyes, relax.” Your shoulders slump, as you free your mind, only concentrating on his velvety voice.
“Think of something that makes you happy.” You turn to look at him. “I don’t remember what makes me happy.” You cast your eyes downward, cursing yourself for your situation. You would give anything to remember what your life was like. “Think of what has made you happy today. Surely there is something.”
You close your eyes again, thinking of how happy you were when you recognized Loki on the battlefield. How you were so relieved to have him there. You thought of how tenderly he patched your wounds, how his touch started a fire within you. “That’s it!” Loki shouts. You open your eyes, seeing a blue glow in your hand. You turn around, practically jumping into Loki’s arms. After two hours, you were managing your powers significantly better.
While you were taking a shower, the floral scent of your soap brought forth some memories. They were of your childhood and your parents. You were shocked you remembered anything at all. You hoped your next recovered memories would be of Loki. As you wash yourself, you ache between your legs thinking of him training you. You stroke yourself trying to soothe the ache and your mind fills with memories of your second boyfriend on top of you, thrusting sloppily. You quickly stop, ready to get out of the shower. It was overwhelming to remember so much at once.
“She is a fast learner. Her instincts are still there. She fights like she always has. In a few more weeks, she will be better than before. I can’t wait to see the looks on my brother and those imbeciles’ faces when they see their precious teammate helping me.” Loki gives The Other the update. “He still thinks this is a bad idea, Asgardian. But he won’t go back on his word, it’s only been a day, so you have some time to use her against them.”
Loki paces his bedroom. Why was the Titan so against his plan? He would show him that he was wrong. He had one of his goons prepare the evening meal. He insisted you dine together. He needed to keep an eye on you to make sure your memory hadn’t returned.
When you were finished, he walked you back to your room. “Loki, sorry if this is awkward, but I need to know something.” He nodded in response, curiosity eating away at him. “Have we ever?” You gesture between the two of you. His face lights up in surprise at your question. That was the last thing he thought you would ask.
“I’m only asking because of the way my body reacts to you. And I didn’t mean to look, but I noticed you were aroused when you left last night.” Loki takes a deep breath, considering his words carefully before answering. “No darling, we never had that kind of relationship. We are just friends working toward the same goal.” Disappointment floods you, but you try to hide it from him. “There was a time when you came onto me." You raise your eyebrows, already embarrassed by where this was going.
"The Avengers had us cornered. We were certain death was near. You confessed your desire for me and I was concerned you were going to rip my clothes off me before we escaped. But nothing happened. We never spoke of it again." You wished the floor would open up and swallow you whole. You just had to ask. "Loki, I'm sorry. I just felt like there was something there. That's why I asked." You cover your face with your hands, trying to look anywhere but at him.
He was pleased with himself. He knew you were attracted to him, but now he made you think you were a wanton slut for him. That would make you avoid touching him more than necessary. It was for his benefit. If your unexpected touches and embraces were an everyday occurrence, he might grow fond of you. He could not let that happen.
But he couldn’t help but notice you looked disappointed. Did you want him that badly? Of course you did, he was a prince, a god, the rightful king of Asgard. And very soon he would rule over this pathetic planet. He watched you carefully. Chest heaving, eyes darkened, thighs clenched, you wanted something to happen when you asked him that.
Loki’s blue eyes gleam mischievously. He could tease you a little. He pins your body to the wall with his, leaving no room in between you. He trails his large hands over the straps of your dress, sliding one down your shoulder, he notices your breath hitch. He smiles satisfied with the effect he has on you.
“Is this what you want, little one? You want me to touch you?” You nod, knowing you would be unable to utter a coherent word. His fist trails between your breasts, stopping to cup one. He gives the tender flesh a firm squeeze. You think you might burst into flames if he doesn’t do something soon.
“Loki, please?” You beg, and you swear he’s holding back a laugh. “Please what?” He smiles. “Please touch me.” You beg him. He spreads your legs with his own. His large hand caresses your inner thigh. “Like this?” He asks you, hand getting higher.
His long fingers finally reach your damp panties. “Norns, you’re so wet for me already.” He purrs in your ear. “Hey boss” Clint bursts into your room, taking notice of Loki’s bulky body holding you against the wall, the strap of your dress hanging off your shoulder. How Loki’s hand is under your dress and you are both breathing heavily. “Sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt.” Clint clears his throat, looking up at the ceiling.
“What do you need, Agent Barton?” Loki asks, fingers still caressing you through your panties. “Sir, The Other needs you to get into contact with him immediately.” Loki reluctantly pulls away from you. You whine when his fingers aren’t on you anymore. You see the smirk on Loki’s face when he hears it and the blush on Clint’s. “Lead the way then.” Loki gestures to Clint. They both leave the room, Loki doesn’t even look back at you as he exits.

Drawing project of my Hero Rosario (Nicknames Rosy or Ari) for every 10 levels I gain in Dragonfable-
Closeups and story under the cut
Tumblr media
Rosario was from a poorer hunting family, just trying to get by. One winter was particularly harsh, and being the youngest mouth to feed… They saw the writing on the wall, and fled. Deciding that at least their memories of their family wouldn't get tainted. If they ran away themself there was a chance they wouldn't have been abandoned. They got spotted and picked up by a Guardian who had happened to be wandering about, and from that moment on was a kid of Falconreach through and through. They were thoroughly obssesed with books, burying themself in any they could get their hands on. They would spend days locked away in the library at the gaurdian tower pooring over history books, tactics books, magic books… they loved it. Their dayly routine was to wake up, go early to Cysero to beg him for any books he would sell them for their measly 3 coin weekly alownce (and some days he would have one he'd be willing to give up in exchange for a favor or two) then help serve breakfast in the messhall. After that they would jump head first back into their studies until they had to be guided away from their books for dinner. Then they would read until lights out. When they were old enough to venture outside the wall without supervision they would make the treck to warlic's tent to beg books off of him, and anyone else who'd be willing to spare some litterature for them. They became quite the shut in, so bad that they had no friends their age nor did they ever go outside save for the early monring. Their caretaker had had enough of it, and forced them to join the heros of falcon reach to 'Put all that brian power of yours to good use lad! You love your magicks so much? well learn to cast a spell out there!". And so kicked out they were, to face the wide open world of lore.
Tumblr media
between doing random chores for the knights of the Pentaganol Knights and stealing the egg back from Drakath they are keen to keep up their studies…. But find that this whole 'adventureing' thing is kind of fun actually! Twilly isnt half bad company and will listen to them ramble on and on about magic theory without interupting them.
Tumblr media
Their dragon egg has hatched! to their awe and amazment, an adorable little baby is introduced to the world. they name the dragon 'Sweetpea' after the flowers it enjoys burning to a crisp while it sneezes. And with Sweetpea born Rosario is off to the races, spesifically the race against Sepulchure to secure the elemental orbs and prevent his usage of them. They've heard of the orbs before and know the history and Awesome Power they hold- and though Rosario can't fathom why Sepulchure wants them it can't be for anything good.
Tumblr media
With Sweetpea at their heal Rosario goes to convince anyone with any access to the orbs to help them keep the orbs safe- The Sandsea was horrible, they were picking sand out of there armor for weeks, but at least zhoom is a reasonable person with a respectable work ethic. Then he offers to teach them to become a ranger- To Teach Them??? Say no more. Rosario has always been a quick study, and having been banned from their library for the foreseeable future the next best thing is to get taught in the real world. At every opportunity then on they try and learn all that they can, trying to find this paladin they've heard of… And it turns out that paladin shares their love of clever puns and wordplay! Useing light magic to kill undead while learning the ways of a paladin (and necromancer, and deathknight) is a dream for them, and Artix makes surprisingly good company! He isn't patient enough for their lectures on the mechanics of magics, but at least he's polite to nod along. They find they dont mind it too much.
Tumblr media
Being a veracious learner, is it any wonder they took to soulweaving like a duck to water? No mater their misgivings about Tomix's… Friend… They are honored to be taught a whole new skill they've never even Heard of before. Not to mention… It's fun being the one teasing instead of the one being teased for once- and Tomix is a bit of an easy target. The whole endeavor, as stressful as managing greed was, was a much needed break after the…. water orb….
Tumblr media
Things were good! They had secured the orbs and backtracked to learn the ways of the Pirate and Ninja! things were looking up! Then Sepulchure got the orbs anyways. Fine! Sure! They'll deal with it! So they do. And it's great! the world is saved and they can rest! Not ten days later fire imps attack Falconreach with refugees pooring in from portals and Warlic is nowhere to be found but Fine! Sure! They'll deal with it! So they do. The spell that this Jaania was under… it is as facinating as it is terrifying to them, and they greet the girl who was broken out- a spite fire, but they feel a kindered spirit in her. They want to pull her aside and explain everything that's happened so far, give her the complete information they know they'd crave in her position- but then the professor is ushering them all to a grand battle without so much as a 'how do you do'. Wargoth by Rosario's observation seems to create mana when casting, rather then destroy it. So if they can provoke him to cast fast enough, they are sure they could burn him out, the only problem is the massive amount of free floating mana that would create- it would wipe out half the planet for sure. But they've not researched magicks their whole life for nothing, they know of and even collect the seeds of a spicies of plant that rapidly absorbs mana when it grows, if they can just- But no, the professor has a Better Idea. Fine! Sure! They'll deal with it. They sure hope their old caretaker is proud of how accommodating and understanding they are being. And they defeat Wargoth, with much collateral damage and close calls- but at least Warlic is back together and now they can focus on the Important Things of rebuilding after Sepulchure and this damage- as well as meeting with and learning from the people who fled from Wargoth's advancments. Sweetpea is safe and sound and all is-…

Clammask suckles a litter of four kits in the nursery with Scrubmask watching over her, purring so hard her body vibrates.
[Image ID: Four newborn kits sit in nests with introductory text under them. The first, a white tom with a golden head and tail, reads NEW PLAYER: HONEYKIT, 0, MALE, NOISY. Next is a white splashed golden tom with the text NEW PLAYER: SPLASHKIT, 0, MALE, NOISY. Above him is a brown masked tom with a white underside who reads NEW PLAYER: LEATHERKIT, 0, MALE, IMPULSIVE. Lastly, there is a black tabby molly, with the words NEW PLAYER: DRUMKIT, 0, FEMALE, QUIET underneath.]
---
There were originally five kits in Clammask’s litter.
The fifth kit was a golden molly who looked like the perfect blend of Clammask and Scrubmask, despite her loner sire. She had seemed so strong next to her brothers and sister. Clammask wanted to give her a strong, powerful name when the quarter moon came. Troutpaw predicted that she would be a mighty warrior, as strong as a cougar.
She passed on the third night of her short little life.
Clammask, like most Clan cats, believed in the idea that young deaths like these were not the deaths of unique souls, but rather StarClan spirits who journeyed back to guide the newborns into the world, only to return soon after. That didn’t mean the little kit’s passing did not hurt, however. That did not mean Clammask did not mourn what could have been, or that Scrubmask’s typical gloomy attitude did not grow darker as the quarter moon passed. Troutpaw outright avoided the nursery after her prediction proved false.
Scalekit looked a lot like the child Clammask lost. It made it hard for her to share a den with the pale-colored kit. At least he would be an apprentice that time next moon. For now, Clammask would focus on her kits while he was in the nursery, and her kits alone.
Two of them looked just like Clammask and Scrubmask. Just like their lost sister. The oldest tom looked like he had dipped his white body into a pot of honey, leaving just his head and tail colored. The other had his birth mother’s fur and his other mother’s white markings. The youngest tom was different, more of a golden-brown color, but Clammask could still see the familial resemblance. She had no idea why her only surviving daughter was black, though. The magic of StarClan’s Blessed Ones, she supposed.
Although she was still sore from her kitting, when the faintest shimmer of light graced camp on the seventh day, Clammask crept out of the nursery and toward the entrance. Scrubmask had been on guard duty most nights since the kitting.
Scrubmask stared ahead when Clammask stepped out. Only a twitch of her whiskers let Clammask know her mate saw her.
“Come to the nursery,” Clammask whispered. “It’s time to name them.” Scrubmask stiffened. Her gaze drifted to the side. “Scrubmask, this is the family you asked for. Don’t let the kit that didn’t make it keep you from the rest.”
“I won’t,” Scrubmask promised, bristling. “It’s just hard to see them when… when there should be five.”
“I know,” Clammask said. She rubbed against Scrubmask. “Our four are healthy and beautiful, though. I want you to help choose names.” Scrubmask swallowed hard. She touched noses with Clammask, and entered camp.
The four kits were still asleep as Clammask and Scrubmask crept in. Weedfoot and Scalekit, sleeping closer to the front of the nursery, left when they saw the couple arrive. Clammask curled back around the four kits. Scrubmask wrapped herself around Clammask, head resting on her back.
“I already have a name for this one,” Clammask said, nosing the gold-dipped tom. “Honeykit.”
“Cute,” Scrubmask hummed. She studied the other golden tom, whose fluffier fur predicted a pelt as long as Scrubmask’s some day. “…Goldenkit. No. Fuzzykit. Too cute. No one will treat him seriously. Dandelionkit. No, I don’t like flowers.” Clammask nuzzled her mate, hiding a laugh. “Alright, this is the last name. Splashkit.”
“Splashkit it is,” Clammask purred. Her tail brushed against the soft pelts lining the floor of the nursery. She flipped over the corner of a rabbit pelt and studied the brown leather on the other side. “I like Leatherkit for the brown tom. Now you get to name our daughter.”
“Drumkit,” Scrubmask said quickly.
“Where did that name come from?” Clammask asked.
“It just feels right,” Scrubmask said. She reached a paw over Clammask to gently touch Drumkit’s head. It was not enough to wake the sleepy kit up. Scrubmask sighed and laid back down beside Clammask, purring.
“I’m glad I get to be a mother with you,” Clammask hummed, resting her head.
“So am I,” Scrubmask purred.

Having reached the end of her apprenticeship, the newly named cleric, Troutpool, feels there is so much left to learn, and frets about whether or not she is ready. With twitching whiskers, Fennelspot assures her that StarClan will always be there to guide her.

Paleseed visits AshClan, but only makes things worse between the Clans.
[Image ID: Eelstar stands in front of Terracottapaw as Paleseed watches them both.]
---
Fennelspot had dreamed of a glowing ash tree during his visit to StarClan’s Shrine, apparently, with Mousesong standing underneath. In his eyes, that meant they needed to speak to AshClan. In Downstar’s eyes, that meant Paleseed had to speak to AshClan. They weren’t about to send Spikecrash into AshClan territory, not when they were carefully concealing her relation to Darkkick. Paleseed was the only one who could do it, but she refused to go alone. Not when she was a spitting image of her mother, named after the cat that Eelstar… that Eelstar…
“Paleseed,” Waspdawn said. He gently batted Paleseed’s ear, drawing her back to the present. The pair sat at the edge of AshClan territory. Morning sun beamed through the colored leaves and tinted everything red and orange. Despite the warm colors, Paleseed felt cold.
“Sorry, Waspdawn,” she gulped, rubbing her face. “Were you saying something?”
“I just want you to pay attention,” Waspdawn reminded his sister. “It’s not safe to be absent minded around AshClan right now. I don’t like how thin their numbers have been at recent Gatherings.”
“I suppose that’s all the more reason to check in on them,” Paleseed said. The wind carried fresh AshClan scent to Paleseed’s nose. A moment later, a small AshClan patrol slipped between the thinning shrubbery. “Hello! Excuse us!” Bright eyes stared at the two littermates. It was Frogbelly, Eveningshade, and Brackenpaw (one of Terracottapaw’s littermates, if Paleseed recalled correctly).
“Oh, Paleseed!” Frogbelly gasped. “Hello! You check the borders for visitors so often, sometimes you forget to see if anyone is really there!” He led Eveningshade and Brackenpaw to the border.
“Hi, Frogbelly,” Paleseed sighed. “I’m afraid I have an official request. Would you take me to your camp?” Frogbelly’s cheerful expression stiffened, trying to stick around despite the sudden chill in the air.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea at the moment,” Eveningshade said. “There is a lot of disease in camp right now. We wouldn’t want RippleClan to get sick.”
“I’m sorry, but we have to be blunt about it,” Waspdawn huffed, angling himself in front of Paleseed. “Fennelspot received a vision that may link your Clan to the death of one of our codekeepers.”
“What, Mousesong?” Eveningshade scoffed. “Didn’t your leader say she was killed by a dog?”
“StarClan sent Fennelspot a vision, and it’s our job to follow up on it,” Paleseed gulped. “Please, Frogbelly?” Frogbelly squirmed under Paleseed’s pleading gaze.
“Maybe we can take you to camp for a short visit?” Frogbelly suggested, staring at Eveningshade. Eveningshade sighed, but flicked her tail for Paleseed and Waspdawn to cross the border.
There was an eerie familiarity to AshClan territory that Paleseed could not get over. Maybe it was all in her head, a fusion of the many stories her mother told her of her old life, but the way the trees grew thicker and seemingly every tree bore marks of harvest… Paleseed wondered if her namesake walked at her side, quietly giving her the strength to step into the camp where Weedfoot nearly died.
AshClan’s camp was surrounded by thickly woven walls, a symbol of AshClan’s determination to carve a new place in the land after the great fire that forced them into creation. Two cats sat tall on either side of the tight entrance. Paleseed and Waspdawn had to walk single-file between the AshClan mediators as they made their way into camp. Paleseed instantly understood why the plan to break Weedfoot out of the camp had been so difficult to undertake. Each den in camp was constructed from branches, twigs, bark, and any other chunk of wood the Clan managed to find, tied and stuck together to form giant dens. Each den had its own lovely decor dangling from the walls; dried flowers and necklaces and other beautiful things. There weren’t many cats wandering around that morning, but those that did basked in the dappled light of the thick canopy overhead. Those cats turned their heads at the sight of RippleClan cats entering their quiet camp.
“I’m hoping to discuss the vision with Newtstream or Eelstar,” Paleseed said, her voice struggling to break free.
“I’m afraid they’re both busy,” Eveningshade said. “Deputy Barkfur is in camp, however. Brackenpaw, please fetch him.”
“Yes, Eveningshade,” Brackenpaw gulped, bowing to Eveningshade. He skittered off into one of the strange, human-like dens.
“Paleseed,” Waspdawn whispered into her ear. “Take a look at the cats around camp.” There were a few small groups of cats scattered about. A gaggle of apprentices watched Paleseed and Waspdawn from what Paleseed assumed was the apprentice’s den. Newly named warriors groomed squirmy kits. A young caretaker stoked the flames of a huge oven in the center of camp.
“What’s wrong?” Paleseed whispered back.
“Where are the elders?” Waspdawn asked. “Where are the senior warriors? Paleseed, I don’t think anyone we see is more than a few moons older than us.” Paleseed looked about a third time and realized her brother was right. Yes, a lot of cats would be out of camp at this time of day, but the elders would be relaxing on the warm boulder that acted as the back wall of one of the dens. The queens would be grooming the kits, not the young cats Paleseed saw.
Barkfur broke the pattern as Brackenpaw led him out of one of the dens near the camp wall. From Weedfoot’s stories, Barkfur had been one of Autumnstar’s most loyal warriors and bestowed the killing blow on Sprucespring, one of the Ashes in the Water. Paleseed quietly thanked StarClan that she didn’t have to talk to Eelstar.
“Mediator Paleseed,” Barkfur said with a short bow. “Codekeeper Waspdawn. Brackenpaw told me you’re following up on a vision.” He dismissed the young apprentice with a quick flick of his tail. Brackenpaw hurried over to the other apprentices.
“During the half-moon meeting, Fennelspot dreamed of Mousesong, one of our dead Clanmates, standing under a glowing ash tree,” Paleseed explained, her training taking over her insecurities. “Although we confirmed she was killed by a dog, the arrival of the vision has given us cause for concern. Do you know something about Mousesong’s death?” Barkfur stared at Paleseed, as though deciding how much to say. Paleseed’s jaw tightened. She couldn’t look at Barkfur like someone who killed her mother’s friend. She had to approach him like a reasonable tom who wanted the best for his Clan. “This isn’t an accusation of anything, sir. We just want the truth. If StarClan thought it apt to direct us here, surely they want us to know the truth.”
“I don’t know the full story,” Barkfur admitted. He leaned a bit closer and whispered, “Your Clanmate died on the first moon of summer, yes?”
“We found her under a beech tree, sir,” Paleseed gulped.
“Then you’ll need to speak to Cleric Apprentice Terracottapaw,” Barkfur sighed, standing straight.
“Aren’t they a bit, uh, busy, Deputy Barkfur?” Frogbelly stammered. Paleseed had almost forgotten he and Eveningshade were still there.
“They can take the time to speak to our guests,” Barkfur said. There was a weight to his words that made Paleseed cold. She often took the opportunity to speak with Terracottapaw at Gatherings, and even saw them during a special mediator/cleric Gathering the moon prior. Every time she saw the young apprentice again, they seemed just as nervous as the first time the pair met. “Take our guests to the meeting den, and I’ll fetch Cleric Apprentice Terracottapaw.” Frogbelly and Eveningshade bowed to Barkfur, then nudged Paleseed and Waspdawn across camp.
As the group made their way to a small den, half bush and half wood, they passed by the mouth of a larger den. Paleseed glanced inside. AshClan cats sat huddled in their nests, shivering. Many had wrappings over their ears and noses and leather thrown over their backs. The very air within the den made Paleseed shiver. She ducked her head and tried to pretend she had seen nothing.
The meeting den was small, but there were a few leather pelts for the siblings to lounge on while they waited for Terracottapaw. Paleseed tucked her paws under herself and sat on a soft vole pelt.
“We’ll be nearby if you need anything,” Frogbelly promised. He gave a quick, awkward bow to the pair while Eveningshade left, then hurried to catch up to his friend. When they were gone, Waspdawn turned to Paleseed, eyes wide.
“Did you see all those sick cats?” Waspdawn hissed.
“They seemed more injured than sick,” Paleseed groaned.
“With bandaging on their extremities…” Waspdawn mumbled. “If I didn’t know better, I would say it was frostbite. But that many cats, at this time of the year?” Waspdawn sat next to Paleseed.
“Something is very wrong here,” Paleseed whined. “We… Downstar and Fennelspot should know about this.”
“I agree, but Paleseed, you have to remember, we aren’t here to fix AshClan’s problems for them.” Waspdawn examined the wooden walls, sneering. “The only reason we should be concerned about them is if they’re threatening our family.” Waspdawn was about to say more, but at that moment, Terracottapaw entered the den. They would have been taller than Paleseed if they would stand straight. They walked in a constant crouch that made Paleseed’s spine hurt.
“Hello, Mediator Paleseed,” Terracottapaw gulped.
“You don’t have to be formal with me,” Paleseed insisted. “We just have a few questions about a vision Fennelspot had at the half-moon meeting.”
“Terracottapaw,” Waspdawn said. His voice was taut and hard. Terracottapaw struggled not to sink deeper under his gray gaze. “Do you know something about Mousesong?” Terracottapaw dug their gaze into the leather-lined floor.
“I was collecting herbs when a dog came at me,” Terracottapaw muttered, fur prickling. “It chased me up a tree in RippleClan territory. Mousesong scented me. I swear, I tried to get her to run, but…” Their words died out.
“Why did you leave, Terracottapaw?” Paleseed asked softly. She tried to meet the apprentice’s eyes, belly almost flat to the ground in an effort to look up at Terracottapaw’s downward gaze. “You weren’t there when the patrol found her. Why didn’t you explain yourself?”
“I was scared,” Terracottapaw mumbled. “It was my fault.” The sentence ended quickly as Terracottapaw stopped themself from going too far.
“I believe you,” Paleseed said, “but I think there’s something else happening. Terracotta, why are so many cats sick? Why has Eelstar missed so many Gatherings? Why can’t your mentor meet us?”
“Paleseed,” Waspdawn snapped quietly, ears tilting back. “What did we talk about?”
“I can’t let this go, Wasp,” Paleseed groaned, eyes shifting between Terracottapaw and Waspdawn. “Look how ragged they are! What if StarClan sent us here to help?”
“Another of StarClan’s messages Newtstream would ignore, if what Darkkick told us is true,” Waspdawn grumbled. Terracottapaw lifted their head. They looked out of the den, studying the figures on the other side of camp. They glanced at Waspdawn, shrinking again under his glare. Then they crept up to Paleseed and whispered in her ear.
“You can’t tell anyone else,” Terracottapaw said. “We’ve been cursed. Cats keep freezing, even in summer. Newtstream performs rituals to help us, and cats start to recover, but then they’ll get sick again. Eelstar’s lost a few lives already. We can’t stop it.” The hopeless fear in the apprentice’s voice stilled Paleseed’s breath and froze her paws.
“Cleric Apprentice Terracottapaw.” A thin figure stood in the den entrance. The old burn scars covering his paws were now coated in another layer of fresh wounds; blistering skin, eaten by a chill only he felt. He held his black tail low and, with only a hard gaze, drew Terracottapaw to his side.
“Eelstar,” Paleseed gulped. “Barkfur told us you were occupied.”
“I became unoccupied,” Eelstar growled. Terracottapaw bowed to their leader and crept back and out of the den. “What happened with your codekeeper was a horrible accident, but one that occurred as a result of an apprentice fleeing for their life. Does that satisfy your inquiry?” Paleseed tried to answer, but found her voice die well before she could make a sound.
“It does,” Waspdawn said, nodding deeply to the burnt leader.
“In that case,” Eelstar said, “I’ll have a patrol escort you back to RippleClan.” He stepped to the side so Paleseed and Waspdawn could leave. Paleseed squirmed. She pushed against her brother, who returned the gesture with a comforting lick. Waspdawn nudged Paleseed on. Paleseed slunk past Eelstar. She could only stare at his injured paws.
Terracottapaw lurked beside one of the dens when Paleseed and Waspdawn emerged. Their eyes dripped with sympathy, but despite the chill that seemed to envelop the camp, Terracottapaw said nothing as Paleseed and Waspdawn left AshClan’s camp.
(Paleseed: 18, female, mediator, insecure, fast runner, steady paws)
(Waspdawn: 18, male, codekeeper, strict, learner of lore, clue finder)

Act 6:3- Age of Enlightenment (Page 1)
LORE | CHARACTERS | ABOUT / WARNINGS | CHAPTERS
← PREVIOUS | BEGINNING | NEXT →
Áine
I've been poring through my mother's grimoire to keep myself company.
Tumblr media
With my partner and daughter gone, it has been incredibly lonely. Sleeping and waking alone leaves a coldness in my chest far worse than the winter cold outside. I understand why Reynold had to leave, but I wish he had stayed. I wonder if I had pressured him into following me here. I hope he doesn't feel that way.
I don't interact much with the others in the settlement, but not with any intention. I mostly see the students, who are wonderful and keen learners and listeners. I find myself thinking about little else than teaching them, and spend most of my time drafting plans for lessons or annotating my students' notes.
This grimoire has kept me company ever since I were young, and it has not let me down, just as the woman who wrote it never let me down. My mother passed this knowledge down to me and it kept me alive in a world that wanted me dead.
Many of my students have been without a mother or father for far longer than I have, like young Matis. I want them to have the knowledge to grow up the way I did - with the smarts of an older woman to guide them when all seems hopeless.
Tumblr media
As the years have passed, more and more of the grimoire is making sense to me. Cryptic metaphors that used to confound me now make perfect sense, and the more difficult spells seem moreso within my reach. Many of the spells in this book are ones any witch would use in her daily life, from cleaning to making fire. Others, witches are still fearful of - appearing in another place in an instant; harnessing lightning, the anger of the Watcher in their palms; even supposedly raising the dead and calling the ghosts through the veil.
Magic in itself is a manipulation of nature, and yet there are some aspects of nature most witches dare not touch. It is sometimes difficult to tell what are actual incantations and spells in this book, and what are merely my mother's vivid imaginations and the stories she used to tell me as a child.
One spell in particular - right at the back of the book - speaks of worlds outside of our own, defying all known rules of existence. I'd paid little attention to it in my later years, having passed them off in my youth as just my mother's stories. I dreamed of seeing these worlds as a child, and forgot about them as a teenager.
Nearing middle-age, I have been ruminating on them again, wondering if it is at all possible to visit worlds outside of our own. Growing up a witch, you come to realise that many answers to the universe's questions lie within the veil of magic, and within the magic in your blood.
There's a loud knock on my door. He holds his arms close to his body and brushes the snow from his hair.  I'm still getting used to his new look. He's gone from a tidy and well-renowned billionaire to a dishevelled teacher, yet he seems all the more happier for it. In spite of his pallor, he looks a lot healthier these days.
As much as I appreciate his help at the magic school, I sometimes find myself wishing we had more of a bond. We spoke of how we saw each other almost as long-lost siblings, and yet it does not feel that way. I fear we've both grown too old to make such connections to others. I truly hope that is not the case.
Tumblr media
"Don't you think you've spent enough time in here, Áine?  We're outside around the fire if you'd care to join us."
"I'm quite alright, Owen. I'm just reading through my mother's grimoire."
Owen adjusts himself, leaning heavily on his cane. The cold weather seems to worsen his issues, and there's no sign of either of those two things letting up anytime soon.
Tumblr media
"You can't just stay in here all of the time between lessons, Áine. You don't need to alienate everyone."
"Whatever do you mean?"
Owen leans his stick against a table and sits on the end of the bed. He has a completely different attitude with me than he does with others. I never feel like he's trying to intimidate me.
Tumblr media
"I understand that it's difficult without Róisín and Reynold around, but it's no good only interacting with the students."
"Owen, you've had a governess doing most of the work for your children. People like you don't spend as much time with your children. Róisín and I were rarely apart for many years. It's only natural that I'd long for my family like this."
Owen still lacks the understanding of what constitutes a normal life. Things seem like a non-issue for him when they're very much issues for other people.

Mini rant about "learning through comprehensible input" and the many situations it's used to mean somewhat different things:
In traditional language learning, using classrooms and textbooks, grammar guides and flashcards: comprehensible input are the dialogues/paragraphs in your textbook that you get a vocabulary translation list for and grammar explanations for so you can comprehend it. It can also be tutoring sessions, where you talk with the tutor and they use translations and gestures and visuals to make sure you can understand them. Once you reach a decent level of understanding the language, comprehensible input becomes any regular material for native speakers you can understand the main idea of (or more). So if someone who took classes for years is telling you to immerse in materials for native speakers, they probably assume you have some prior knowledge about the language and can understand the materials for native speakers to a degree. If a teacher is recommending you immerse in the language, they probably mean to immerse with content that uses words/situations you've studied in class at some point. These people do NOT mean for a brand new beginner, who knows nothing, to just go sit and watch movies for adults in the target language and magically learn over time.
In Refold/Mass Immersion Approach community, online communities where the study method involves a lot of flashcards/anki/SRS/apps with vocabulary/making word or sentence lists with translations: when they say comprehensible input, they mean material you can understand the main idea of, with the help of looking up word translations and grammar! They usually expect you will at least look up some key words once in a while, or immerse with stuff that uses words you've recently studied (in anki). When they say "immerse a lot and often" sometimes they do mean to immerse with input you do NOT understand, but when they're saying to get mostly comprehensible input, they mean either stuff made for learners to be understandable OR you using tools like word translation to be able to understand the material. There are people who did try to immerse with input they did not understand (maybe because they didn't understand the advice to immerse in materials for native speakers), without looking up words or using any tools to help them understand, and thousands of hours later they still were beginners. The people who successfully have used anki and immersion to learn a language, usually mean using immersion material that you can comprehend the main idea of (with tools/aids if necessary like word translations or word definitions in the target language). Notice that for these learners, comprehensible input MAY NOT BE comprehensible if you're relying on ONLY what you already know, and may require TOOLS to be comprehensible. They're expecting you to USE TOOLS to make the input comprehensible! (Flashcards, definition lookups in target language, word translation lookups, grammar explanation lookups).
Comprehensible Input Method/Automatic Language Growth/Nature Method Learners: By comprehensible input, they mean only materials you can understand the main idea of (without needing tools/aids). This will initially be materials MADE FOR LEARNERS, like the Nature Method textbooks with illustrations to explain the meaning, and Comprehensible Input lessons on youtube where the teacher shows you pictures and uses gestures to communicate the main idea. Then the materials may be graded readers made with a vocabulary a learner is expected to know, and possibly a vocabulary list in the back. And podcasts for learners, that use a limited number of words they expect the learner to know and define new words. Eventually, this can mean cartoons for toddlers where the visuals about what is being said, in addition to the words you already know, makes the main idea understandable. Then eventually cartoons for older kids, and shows, novels for kids, and novels for adults, etc as you learn more words and understand more (without needing tools/aid). So the key here, is this kind of learner usually means MATERIALS you can understand without any tools! This is a huge difference from the Refold learners, who often mean comprehensible input as ANY input if you're using enough tools TO comprehend it.
ALL of these learners usually mean, by comprehensible input, materials you can understand the main idea of - with or without tools. If you cannot understand the main idea - use tools! If you can understand the main idea, cool, you comprehend it enough to learn from it! None of these learners are trying to suggest beginners trying to learn a target language just listen to adult radio in the TL for 2000 hours and somehow 'learn.' All of these learners think a beginner NEEDS either a lot of visuals to allow for understanding (comprehensible input lessons, nature method), so the learning aid is built INTO the materials initially. Or these learners think beginners NEED to use tools to make materials understandable (translations, dictionary entries, anki to memorize words, textbooks), to be able to learn from materials. In either case, the advice to use comprehensible input assumes you are comprehending the main idea being conveyed in the material, and if needed you're using additional tools/aids/resources to figure out the main idea being conveyed.
There's a guy on youtube who keeps making these videos about using input to learn japanese, and I overall agree with him. But he only mentions a few times he uses anki to study (so uses tools to understand more), and he learned a decent number of words before using audio-only as input to study with (so he could comprehend the main idea to a degree), and the impression I get from comments is that some people sincerely think he's saying to listen to regular japanese materials for adults for thousands of hours and that itself will be enough to learn. I don't think he necessarily makes it clear how much initially VISUAL input is better if someone is going to just watch materials in japanese, how much his explicit study with anki may be increasing what he can comprehend, and how much using materials-made-for-learners works better in the beginning (he does recommend learner podcasts like Nihongo Con Teppei and Learn Japanese with Shun). I think the guy's heart is in the right place, and he's got good advice. I just get frustrated with how MANY people are misunderstanding his advice. Especially beginners, who may think when he says immerse in content you only understand 10% of... he is assuming the beginner is looking up key words, and making new anki cards of words they're hearing to study more.
As a learner... please don't bash your head into content you don't understand the main idea of for hundreds of hours. I am begging you, do something like look for materials MADE FOR LEARNERS to be understandable (comprehensible input lessons, graded readers, textbooks, sentences with translations, dialogues, or even cartoons with clear visuals about what is going on), or USE SOME TOOLS to make things understandable to you! Please...

Heart behind the lie # 70 : Gardening lesson
Wukong learn abt immortal trees
The moon had risen over the peaceful mountain. Stars were tinkering above the lush flora, shedding light in the deep darkness. Wukong was trying to sleep but he simply couldn't. A buzzing electricity was running inside his body, preventing him from being pulled in the land of dreams. The Maiden had settled on the mountain to study its soil and learn about the immortal peaches' purpose. To Wukong relief, they agreed to give some lectures on gardening, more specifically immortal gardening. Tomorrow was his very first lesson. He was quite nervous about it. His moon's healing was on the line after all. He knew it would take time to nurture immortality. He could accelerate the process with magic but it was still a delicate affair. He wasn't used to handling his magic delicately, especially when it came to any kind of nurturing magic. He was a specialist of transformations after all. Earth magic was out of his touch. But he was a quick learner. And he hoped his affinity with stones could ease the process.
Wukong was staring at his ceiling, lost in thoughts. What if he failed? What if the Maiden realized he wasn't fit for the task? What if they left? He created a nice hut in a quiet corner for them but he knew it wasn't as fancy as what they were used to in Heaven. Wukong sighed for the umpteith time and rolled in his sheets. Worry was gnawing at him. Making it impossible to find sleep.
Sock, who was lying by his side, mrrped in annoyance. She opened her eyes and yawned, her sharp teeth glinting under the moon's luster.
“Big yawn.” Hummed Wukong as he scouted closer to her. The lil lady turned towards him and narrowed her eyes. “Yeah, I know… I should go to sleep.” Sock meowed, as if agreeing. “I just… I'm a bit nervous I guess.”
The russet cat observed him for a moment before climbing on his chest, Wukong hummed and naturally scratched under her chin. What was he supposed to do? Not pet her? She was too adorable to not be petted. Sock pawed at his chest, making a batch of biscuits. Wukong loved the feeling of her pawing. It was soft and soothing. And occasionally he managed to kiss one of her paw pads.
But no matter how soothing the motion was, he still couldn't chase his nervousness away. Sock stopped when she saw that she couldn't ease him. She hopped off the bed and jumped on the windowsill, pawing at the glass.
“A night walk, huh?” He opened the window and slipped outside with his lil lady. “That's a good idea.”
Sock meowed in pride, holding her head high.
“Yeah, all your ideas are good.” Cooed Wukong, he loved praising his lil lady. She was so smart! She deserved all the praise!
They left the water-curtain cave and dived in the mountain lush flora. Sock was trotting by his side, guiding him through the forest. Wukong didn't know where she was taking him but he played along. How could he refuse such a cute guide? Occasionally, the lil lady would stop and roll over (or paw) to show off her favorite thing to Wukong. She showed her favorite trees to climb. Her favorite vines to play with. Her favorite fields to nap. Wukong ooo’ed and aww’ed every time, enjoying the unusual tour of his island. At last, Sock guided him to a tree boarding one of the mountain's shores. Macaque was sleeping in one of the branches.
Wukong's heart skipped a beat. Macaque looked so peaceful there. Sprawled lazily over the branch, surrounded by snoring monkeys. Sock pawed at the tree and began to climb it with conviction, determined to reach the warrior.
“Wait lil bud… don't bother him.” Sweatdropped Wukong. If he had to be honest, he did miss sleeping with Macaque. They had taken the habit of slipping in each other's beds when they were on Sandy's airship. The feeling of his moon's arms over his hips, of his breathing fanning his ears, was one of his most precious memories. They didn't speak about it after coming back to the mountain. Macaque stayed in his hut for a bit after the operation but Wukong didn't slip in his bed anymore, worried that he'll bother his rest, especially since he tended to move in his sleep.
Eventually, Macaque began to sleep outside, like he used to do before. The black-furred monkey liked to sleep under the stars, it gave him a sense of comfort, of belonging, especially since usually the monkeys joined him in his slumber. Macaque had never been one for roofs, it didn't mean he didn't want to have his own place though.
Wukong knew that Macaque had created his own home somewhere on the mountain, settling in a cave near one of the shores. Well, at least it had been one of Macaque's projects before the journey, Wukong didn't know if it was still a thing. The sage was glad Macaque carved his own place. He hoped he would be invited someday, when the cave was ready to receive visitors. Until now he wouldn't intrude on Macaque's private space.
Sock ignored him and jumped on Macaque, she pawed at his chest with eagerness. The black-furred monkey groaned and blinked open. “Sock?” He slurred, voice veiled by drowsiness. The lil lady meowed happily, then she turned towards Wukong and meowed even louder. The warrior finally noticed Wukong standing there.
“Huh, hi?” Nervously chuckled Wukong, hoping he wasn't coming off as too awkward. It was hard to navigate his new relationship with Macaque. While he wasn't shy about affection now that the journey ended and he wanted to make it official… things felt somehow more intense.
The black-furred monkey somehow understood what was going on, he wiggled a little, making room for Wukong. The sage gulped, but how could he refuse the silent offer when Macaque was looking at him with barely concealed eagerness and Sock looked so adorably cuddly ?The golden-furred monkey hurriedly hopped in the tree. He bothered a few sleeping monkeys, there wasn't a lot of room for him, but he somehow managed to find his place. Macaque huffed and brought him closer, burying himself in his shoulder. Sock was happily squished between them both, enjoying their warmth.
Wukong felt content. He inhaled his moon's scent and scratched behind Sock's ears. The lil lady purred in delight, and Wukong purred back. He fell asleep rather easily after that, pressed against his loved ones.
The russet-furred monkey woke up in the late morning, kissed by the sun's rays. Most of the monkeys already left the tree, searching for food, and Sock was sprawled on the shore, in a more sunny place. Macaque was holding him tight, playing with his fur, the caress of his finger was familiar, soothing. Wukong yawned and nosed his moon's neck, sighing in bliss at the smell.
“Hi.” Chuckled Macaque as he brought Wukong even closer, his hands squeezing the sage's hip in a silent greeting. Wukong purred, his tail smacking the tree in glee. Distantly he heard Macaque's tail smack the tree too.
Wukong looked up and scouted closer, his nose hushed against Macaque's. “Hi.” He stayed still for a few seconds, appreciating the proximity with his moon, before leaning even closer and kissing him. Macaque welcomed his kiss with glee.
Wukong closed his eyes and lost himself in the kiss. It was sweet at first. A tentative brush of lips. A simple greeting. But then Macaque shifted and brought Wukong on top of him. The kiss became more heated. Wukong pressed down on Macaque, relishing in the way both their bodies felt against each other. He cupped his moon's face and deepened the kiss. Their tongues met and collided against each other. Wukong eagerly explored his moon's pliant mouth. Familiarizing himself with every unexplored corner. Their tails intertwined with each other and smacked the tree in excitement.
When Wukong separated from his moon, he was tempted to dive right back in, to lose himself again. But he had things to do. He couldn't be late for his first gardening lesson.
“I'll come back to you later.” Mumbled the sage as he reluctantly hopped off the tree.
“You better or I'll chase you down.” Hummed Macaque with a playful sway of tail.
“As if you could catch me.” Taunted Wukong with fanged smiled.
“Is this a challenge, old man?” Replied the warrior with narrowed eyes.
“Maybe it is.” Chuckled Wukong, he went to his lil lady and picked her up. “Sock, buddy, you need good grooming.” He grimaced as he saw how much sand she managed to get in her fur.
“You spoil that cat.” Snorted Macaque, he leaned back on the tree and crossed his arms behind his head.
“As if you don't spoil her too.” Huffed Wukong, he was aware that Macaque liked to give the lil lady snacks when he wasn't looking.
“Touché.” Chuckled Macaque.
Wukong stole one last glance at his moon before leaving with Sock in his arms. The lil lady made herself at home, she closed her eyes and curled on herself, making herself comfortable. Wukong cooed and kissed her forehead affectionately.
Soon enough, Wukong reached the abode he created for the Maiden. It was hidden in a quiet corner not frequently visited by the local fauna, boarding one of the clearest lakes of the mountain. The great sage put Sock down (she immediately trotted towards the lake, messing with the fishes) and took a deep breath. He marched to the abode and knocked on the door. The White Maiden was the one to answer, she coldly nodded at him and warned her sisters of his presence. Soon enough the colorful cohort of sisters left the abode.
“We are willing to teach you but we also have our own duties. That's why after this first lesson only the Brown Maiden will remain here.” Huffed the Red Maiden as she crossed her arms, she didn't look happy about this développement but she refrained from being too rude.
“I will stay for a few weeks to ensure everything is going well before returning to Heaven. After that, if you have any questions you'll have to go find us in Heaven.” Calmly explained the Brown Maiden, her eyes curved not unkindly, she reminded Wukong of a gentle bear.
Wukong nodded, he could work with this arrangement.
“So let's get down to business.” Hummed the White Maiden. They sat down near the lake, Wukong pulled out a notebook and a pen with two pieces of hair.
“Immortality is a difficult thing to nurture. It requires an abundant amount of energy, in particular from the sun, the moon and the earth.” Began the White Maiden, her voice as sharp as a sword.
“That's why you have to carefully consider the place where you'll plant your tree. If it doesn't receive enough energy from the sun, the moon and the earth it'll syphon the lifeforce of anything around it to sustain itself.” Warned the Yellow Maiden with an anxious tone. Wukong dutifully noted that down.
“I think the peak where you were born will do good. It is removed, high enough to be close to both the sun and moon, and is abundant in energy from the earth.” Added the Brown Maiden.
“The mountain climate is adequate, but you'll have to protect the tree during storms. Too much water could drown it, and it isn't strong enough to endure thunder.” Shyly warned the Pink Maiden.
“You'll have to bring the purest water you can find on this mountain to the tree each day. “ Huffed the Red Maiden. Wukong knew there was a pond in the heart of his mountain with water so clear it was almost invisible, it was a bit far from where the tree will be planted but it'll do just right.
“You'll have to always make sure no parasites, nor birds are near the tree.” Warned the Yellow Maiden. Wukong nodded, he'll have to put seals around the tree to protect it.
“And don't forget to nurture the tree with your magic each night. The spell used to nurture immortal trees is called Harmony. It is a spell using Earth Magic and Spirit Magic made to harmonize the three different energies running inside immortal trees. If you don't harmonize those energies, they can clash with each other and harm the tree.” Explained the Brown Maiden. The spell sounded quite difficult… it demanded to move the three different energies running inside the tree and weave them together. But Wukong wasn’t one to flee from challenges.
“Now… immortal peaches usually take thousands of years to take form, but you don't have that much time so you'll have to use Time Magic. Be careful with that though, make sure your time spell doesn't put too much strain on the tree.” Added the White Maiden.
By the end of his lesson, Wukong had three notebooks filled with information. Immortal trees were delicate things. They could die so easily. But Wukong wouldn't give up. For now, he'll train himself to master all the spells he needs to nurture his tree, then he'll finally plant the seed on his highest peak, the place where he was born.
All the efforts were worth it if it meant he could save his moon.

Temptation Towards Apoptosis - Track 03
L4mps 1st Feature Event
Tumblr media
This chapter is translated by Jelly!
CW: Vomiting and Trouble with Food
This chapter includes vomiting and Toi struggling with food. If you do not wish to read that part of the chapter please skip from "We bought some garlic again~..." till "Nothing, the chief thought..." to avoid such content. However, if you wish to read, please read with caution.
Location: Lake Towada - Winter Story Festival
Chief: We’ve finally made it to the Lake Towada Winter Story Festival!
Tumblr media
Toi: Waah…! The Christmas lights are so magical…!
Chief: I think the atmosphere here would still be nice even if it snowed…
Tumblr media
Nagi: J-J-Just like the chief said yesterday, I-I-I’m glad it didn’t snow.
Netaro: Gii is passionately shivering.
Nagi: I-It’s because I-I-I-I’m cold.
Netaro: It seems inconvenient for warm-blooded creatures to be bad with the cold.
Tumblr media
Ryui: Toi, let me know if you’re cold.
Toi: I’m alright. As long as I’m with you, Ani-sama.
Toi: (…I want to tell Nagi-kun that sticking to Ani-sama will warm him up too…)
Tumblr media
Toi: (But I don't really want Ani-sama to hug anyone else except me…)
Chief: In addition to the festival, there are other activities to do nearby the venue as well such as going on the Oirase Gorge Frozen Night Bus Tour, or the Towadako Guidehouse KAI.
Tumblr media
Nagi: B-B-Buchi-san, you said you visited the s-s-sauna this afternoon, right?
Daniel: Yeah, a winter sauna right smack dab in the middle of Lake Towada’s natural goodness. Really hit the spot.
Yodaka: I believe you said the temperature of the cooling pool was 2°C.
Nagi: *chatterchatterchatterchatter*
Ryui: Oi, Hachinoya froze up just imagining it.
Chief: O-Oh no…! There should be stalls by Yukiakari Yokocho, so let's warm ourselves up with the food there…!
Daniel: ‘Right, then should we split up? Me and Yodaka planned on going around together.
Chief: Ah, are you two going drinking again?
Daniel: Haha, ‘course we are. Is there anything better to do? Nope.
Tumblr media
Netaro: Ahhhh, the unclouded flies of an alcoholic*!
Ryui: Eyes.
Yodaka: Actually, we were interested in visiting the Kamakura bars.
Chief: (Mmmm, this free-spiritedness is reminding me of our Hakodate trip…)
Ryui: Then should we go too? Warm up a bit before heading to the food stalls.
Toi: Wouldn’t that make us colder…?
Netaro: Nyope. The inside of a snow hut is actually warmer than the outside since the walls of snow trap the incoming air and make the hut insulated.
Yodaka: In that case, shall we be off? Danny, can you help carry Nagi?
Tumblr media
Daniel: Ahh fine. Up you go.
*Daniel picks Nagi up*
Nagi: *chatterchatter*…
Chief: Netaro-kun and I will go get food for everyone first. I think they sell hot pork soup, grilled squid…
Tumblr media
Netaro: Grilled squid! Grilled squid~ Pf-PFFT! Hehehe.
Ryui: The hell you laughing at?
Location: Aomori - Kamakura Bar
Tumblr media
Nagi: …Phew. I’m saved.
Toi: Wow. It really is warmer inside.
Daniel: *whistles* The glass is all made outta ice. How bougie.
Yodaka: What should we order?
Ryui: I’ll take a soda. Or else I won’t be able to go around asking about Morozumi-san.
Daniel: Then we won't hold back on the drinks, so we're countin' on ya to drive us back, thanks Ryui.
Tumblr media
Ryui: How the fuck did you know I got my license?
Daniel: Well I mean, you told the company, yeah? Anyways, we’re counting on ya.
Nagi: Um, Buchi-san. Even if a car comes equipped with autonomous driving, it’s still too much to make a beginner drive on an icy road at night. I can drive instead.
Daniel: No, your driving ain’t any better.
Yodaka: Ryui may just be a beginner at driving. However, sometimes it's best to learn from experience. Everything should be alright as long as someone is guiding him from the passenger seat.
Daniel: Yeah, you said it man. It’s like how they usually throw learners on the highway without warning.
Nagi: Hmm… I guess so. Like how people usually practice parking after they get their licenses. Then again the company van is pretty big. Parking it requires skill.
Tumblr media
Toi: (…Oh, I didn’t know that.)
Nagi: Ryui, did you have any problems with the written test?
Ryui: My only problem was that the stuff they asked was a pain in the ass.
Ryui: Like, “You have to be careful when driving at night,” true or false… stuff like that.
Toi: (Isn’t the answer… true?)
Yodaka: In this case, the answer should be false. “Regardless of the time of day, one should always be careful when driving.”
Daniel: Ah yeah. There were a lot of trick questions mixed in.
Tumblr media
Nagi: I thought I’d never pass…
Snow Hut Visitor A: Oh, did you boys come here by car?
Snow Hut Visitor B: In that case, do we have the perfect snow tire recommendation for you!
Toi: …
Tumblr media
Toi: (They’re talking about things I don’t understand…)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toi: (Ani-sama… looks like he’s having fun…)
Tumblr media
Yodaka: …
Yodaka: My boy. I think the chief and Netaro should be back with the food by now.
Toi: Oh… Then, I’ll go see if they’re here.
Yodaka: Let’s go together.
Toi: It’s okay, I can go by myself!
*Toi leaves*
Tumblr media
Ryui: Oi… where’s Toi? Natsume, don’t tell me you chased him out?
Yodaka: Apologies. I thought I'd help him get a change of pace, so he went outside.
Nagi: Oh, is Toi the only one without his license…? Oops, he might have felt left out.
Daniel: He doesn’t plan on getting it?
Ryui: It’s not like he needs one. I already got mine.
Ryui: Though if he wants to get it, I don’t plan on stoppin’ him either. But for now, I wanna be the one to drive.
Nagi: Why?
Tumblr media
Ryui: Just think about it, imagine Toi riding in my car at night. He’d probably say somethin’ like, “I need to stay awake since Ani-sama is driving…” while dozing off. Isn’t that so admirable of him?
Nagi: I. Recommend chewing some gum. Then.
Ryui: And then while waiting for the light, I can relish in the moment of Toi sleeping in the passenger seat… and that's all I thought about so far.
Daniel: Your mind surely does work wonders.
Yodaka: Though it seems probable in the near future.
Location: Lake Towada - Winter Story Festival
Chief: Oh, Toi-kuuun!
Tumblr media
Toi: Chief, Netaro-san. How were the food stalls?
Chief: It was super busy! And there was even a stage for live performances.
[CW: Toi's struggle with food starts here]
Netaro: We bought some garlic again~ Unlike Ryui, I am not a dingy stingy, so Toi can have some too. Here!
Tumblr media
Toi: (…I don’t really want it, but Netaro-san went out of his way to share with me…)
Toi: Then, I will take a piece…
Toi: …, …
Toi: (Urh… It smells and my chest hurts… I don’t think I can, do this after all…)
Netaro: You aren’t gonna eat it~?
Tumblr media
Toi: Huh, oh, no, I will. In that case… thank you.
Toi: …ng, …
Tumblr media
Toi: (I feel, sick…)
Chief: We should head inside now, but I wonder if it will be too packed?
Netaro: It’ll be fine~ Since the dawn of time, JPN salarymen have always been a species well known for their exceptional ability to squeeze into small spaces!
Toi: (Since I put it in my mouth already, I have to do my best to swallow…)
Chief: Toi-kun, how does it look inside—
Tumblr media
Toi: O-Oh… It was... pretty busy in there…
Chief: Hm? Toi-kun, are you okay? You look pale…
Toi: A-Ahaha, do I…?
Netaro: Then do you want more garlic~? It’ll give you more nutrients to recover energy—
Toi: …!
Toi: S-Sorry… I need to use the bathroom…
Location: Snowy Path
Tumblr media
Toi: Br… *pants*, *pants*…
Toi: (Urh… I can’t suppress this nauseating feeling…)
Tumblr media
Toi: (And… I can feel something watching me again.)
Toi: Who’s—
Toi: Urh…!
Toi: Ble, blhehg… ue…, …!
Toi: Uuueeu… *pants*, *pants*… *panting*…!
Toi: (It’s out… But I’m feeling better—)
Tumblr media
Ryui: TOI!!
Toi: !!
Toi: (Ani-sama’s coming…! Oh no, what do I do…)
Toi: Oh…! I can cover it up with the snow…!
Toi: (Sorry, I’ll make sure to clean it up later…!)
Tumblr media
Toi: (What about my clothes...? Phew, it didn't get on them... The inside of my mouth feels disgusting, but I have to ignore it.)
Ryui: Toi!
Toi: Ani-sama, what’s wrong?
[CW: Toi's struggle with food ends here]
Tumblr media
Ryui: Nothing, the chief thought you were taking your time so…
Toi: Sorry. I wanted to play in the snow for a bit—
*rustling*
Toi: Huh. What was that just now…?
Stoat: …
Ryui: A white animal… is that a stoat?
Toi: Waah, its fur looks like snow. It’s so cute…!
Ryui: But you’re obviously cuter.
Toi: Ehehe.
Ryui: It’s almost time for the fireworks to start, we should head back.
Toi: Okaaay.
Tumblr media
Toi: I hope we can meet again… little Stoat.
Stoat: …
Notes:
Oirase Gorge is one of the most beautiful river valleys in Japan that is best known for their autumn foliage. In the winter, the waterfall freezes over creating frozen falls that is a must see for tourists to Aomori. For more info on the tour click here. For more info on the gorge click here.
Towadako Guidehouse KAI is a canoe experience to enjoy the beautiful nature of Lake Towada and Oirase Gorge. For more info click here.
Yukiakari Yokocho is a a shopping street within the festival where one can enjoy the local specialties of Aomori.
When Netaro says "unclouded flies," he gets the saying wrong. It's supposed to be unclouded eyes, but in the original he says the unclouded sea cucumber. It was hard to fit this in for the pun, so sea cucumber was replaced with flies. Sea cucumbers also happen to be an important element in Aomori's new year cuisines and the most valuable type of sea cucumber here is called the Yokohama sea cucumber. More info click here
Kamakura Bars are Snow hut bars in the festival space that is known for its excellent sake.
Stoat is a weasel looking animal native to Eurasia, also known as ermine.
