4TH DAY OF ADVENT— DECORATING THE TREE

— lets you hang the decorations yourself ♡

he isn't a big fan of decorating the tree, but he would keep you company as you decorate. despite his disinterest for decorating, he would help you with advice and give you his opinions if you ever asked for them. of course, he isn't mean; he'll help you with things if you're struggling. can't reach the top of the tree? he'll do it for you! unsure where to put these ornaments? he'll place them for you. he'll gladly spend time with you by the couch as you decorate the tree, chattering about random nonsense with you. once you're done with the decorations, he would stand up and kiss you, telling you that you did a splendid job at decorating. the two of you would end the night by enjoying each other's warmth as you cuddle together by the fireplace.

— help you with the decorations ♡

this man will do absolutely anything to spend time with you. when you asked him to help you decorate the christmas tree, he hesitated not even a second before agreeing. preparing all the necessary materials and ornaments, he was eager to start. half of the time his focus wouldn’t even be on decorating the tree — it would be on you! he would take every chance he gets to touch you, even if his hands were covered in glitter. wrapping his arms around your waist as you’re placing baubles on the tree, ruffling your hair as you’re sorting through the boxes for more decorations, giving you unexpected kisses while you’re focused on hanging the ornaments, this man really doesn’t know how to keep his hands to himself. his playful, loving demeanour goes far, even decorating and wrapping you with christmas lights. switching the christmas lights on, he would shower you with his endless affection as you shone brightly from the lights. giving you a sweet kiss that would soon enough turn into a playful fight between the two of you on who looks pretty with lights wrapped around them, you truly wonder when you two will ever finish decorating.

— does everything on his own ♡

this man will never let you lift a finger unnecessarily. he believes that it should be his job to do everything for you, and that you should be spoiled and pampered. letting you relax by the fireplace or the sofa, he would play you a christmas movie to keep you occupied as he works on the tree. if you really insist on helping him out, he would make sure to watch out if you’re struggling. he’ll give you the easier tasks to complete, such as picking out the colours for the tree, choosing where the ornaments should be placed, or even placing a few ornaments on the lower section of the tree. don’t mistake his actions for being controlling though, he just doesn’t like the thought of you lifting a finger! you’re his lover, and he wants you to feel comfortable and relaxed with him. by the time he finishes decorating, he will turn on the christmas lights and enjoy a nice hot cocoa with you, laying with you by the sofa as you watch christmas classics in his arms. 

thoma, pantalone, ayato 

— lets you do it at first, ends up doing it himself ♡

at first, he would let you handle the decorations, thinking that you’d be fine without his help. of course, he would still help you out if you needed his assistance. but eventually, his meticulousness would be shouting at him as he watched you decorate. he would notice the little details and minor flaws in the decorations — his eyes would immediately catch a glimpse of that one ornament that wasn’t hung properly. or perhaps he noticed that a few flowers weren’t spaced out evenly. regardless of what it was, he would stand up and offer to fix it for you. his perfectionism would eventually get the best of him, and he would urge you to ‘rest’ by the couch, offering to take over where you left off. before you knew it, he would finish the rest of the tree on his own, the ornaments neatly arranged all over the tree. he would smile at you sheepishly, giving you a soft kiss on the cheek before apologising to you, telling you that he got carried away with the decorations. in the end, he’ll make it up to you with sweet kisses and cuddles in living room with the christmas lights on, enjoying his warmth and presence.

Icing Cookies {Ekko x Jinx}

Advent Calendar Event!

A/N: oughhh ekko has been my fav since day one but after season two i needed more ekko content and i also miss him and jinx's antics hehe so i decided to write for these two!! they're so silly i love them and i hope y'all enjoy!

Summary: Ekko and Jinx are decorating some cookies, but Ekko's look... a bit odd.

Word Count: 1k (under the cut!)

“Jinx, these look like shit…”

“No, only yours do.”

“Hey!”

Jinx laughed, nudging Ekko with her elbow. “What? I’m right! Have you never decorated cookies before?”

Ekko huffed. “No, I haven’t! I didn’t think it would be this hard, either.”

Jinx looked over at Ekko’s batch of cookies that he had been decorating. They… did indeed look like shit.

Ekko had helped Jinx bake the cookies and that had been easy enough, but as soon as he picked up a piping bag, they suddenly looked like globby, horrid lumps of goop. There were colors mixing into weird colors and Jinx could not tell what most of them were even supposed to look like. There was some icing dripping onto the counter from some, and others had bits of cookie exposed where there definitely should have been icing.

Ekko sighed and wiped at his nose, accidentally wiping icing on the tip of it. Jinx held back a laugh, but he noticed her change in expression. He frowned. “Are you laughing at how bad they are?”

Jinx grinned. “Maybe~!”

Ekko groaned and let his head fall back in exasperation. He set down the icing bag he had been holding and crossed his arms. “I give up. You finish them.”

Jinx whined. “No, Ekko! I can’t make all of these without you! My poor hands will get tired!”

Ekko raised an eyebrow at Jinx. “You were just making fun of how bad my cookies look.”

Jinx shrugged. “It’s the thought that counts?” Ekko started to walk away and Jinx had to grab his wrist and drag him back. “Hey, hey! They’ll still taste the same, just do a few more with me!”

Jinx looked up at Ekko with pleading eyes, pouting her lip slightly. Ekko sighed and gave in, making Jinx snicker victoriously. She put the piping bag back in his hands and held onto his hands, walking next him as he watched her carefully.

“Never thought the Boy Savior would need saving, but here we are! I’ll help you pipe a few so they don’t look too much like shit.”

“Watch it, Jinx.”

“Okay, okay, sheesh! Let’s start with a snowflake, that should be easy enough.”

Jinx guided Ekko’s hands while he applied pressure to the piping bag. It went across the cookie in small lines, Jinx correcting Ekko on how much to squeeze the bag when it got a bit gloppy again. In the end, it was much better than Ekko’s previous cookie attempts. It took a bit of creative interpretation, but it was a snowflake if you looked close enough. Jinx put her hands on her hips triumphantly and then pat Ekko’s shoulder.

“Good job! It’s a very special snowflake. Y’know, no two snowflakes look the same.”

Ekko nodded his head, a small smile on his face. Jinx went back to her own cookies, but Ekko tried to get her attention again. “Hey, can you… help me with one more?” Jinx raised an eyebrow at him. Ekko rubbed the back of his neck. “I– I mean, you don’t have to…”

Jinx smirked. “Ohh, I see. You need my expert cookie skills, don’tcha?”

Ekko hummed. “Something like that.”

Jinx picked out an ornament for their next cookie and decided to make it blue. This time, she demonstrated how to do it for Ekko on her own cookie and then watched as he tried it himself. He piped some green icing onto his ornament cookie, but he was struggling with the evenness of the icing. Jinx chuckled as she watched and leaned against Ekko once he finished.

“I’d put that on my tree.”

“You would?”

“Yeah… maybe near the bottom where no one could see, but I’d still put it on!”

Ekko chuckled and rolled his eyes. He set down his piping bag and leaned his back against the counter. Jinx hummed and stood in front of him, leaning against him as his eyes widened.

Jinx watched Ekko closely, noticing his eyes flickering down to her lips and back up to her eyes. She smirked and leaned closer to his face, but he did not lean back at all.

“Jinx…?”

Jinx leaned just a bit closer, making Ekko almost stop breathing in anticipation. She let her hands rest on his hips, and just as he closed his eyes, she gave his hips a gentle squeeze.

Ekko yelped and jolted back, hitting his head against the cabinet. “Ow!! Hey– Hehehey!! Jinx, wahahait!”

“Huh? What’s wrong, Little Man? Is something funny?”

“You– Stahahahap!!” Ekko laughed as Jinx crept up his sides. He tried weakly to shove her away, but she had him pinned. He tried his best not to squirm because of all the cookies behind him, but with Jinx tickling him, that was proving difficult.

“Someone’s got the giggles!” Jinx chuckled, pinching his sides as he whined through his laughter.

“Jinx, dohohohohon’t!!”

“Hmm? Don’t what?”

“Tickle mehehehe!”

Jinx grinned and latched her hands onto Ekko’s ribcage, making him gasp. “Tickle you? Well, if you insist!”

“NOHohoho!! Jinx, plehehehease, not thehehere!!”

“Why not? I thought this was your favorite spot!”

Ekko whined and laughed, trying to clamp his arms down. Jinx laughed along with him, but finally let up when his laughter started to get hiccupy. She chuckled as she watched him come down from his fit of laughter, but he could hardly muster up a glare for her.

Jinx leaned in close to Ekko again, smiling as he finally managed to stop giggling. “What is it now, Jinx?”

“You have something on your face.”

“I– What?! Where is–?”

Jinx kissed the tip of Ekko’s nose, cutting him off mid-sentence. He stopped, staring at her with wide eyes as she smiled. She licked her lips and hummed. “It must have been icing. We were supposed to ice the cookies, Ekko, not your nose.”

Ekko huffed and pressed his forehead against Jinx’s. “You’re impossible, you know that?”

Jinx shrugged. “But that’s why you love me, right?”

Ekko wrapped his arms around Jinx, burying his face in the crook of her neck. “That, and so many other reasons.”

Jinx wrapped her arms around Ekko as well, holding him tightly. They held onto each other for a few moments, but then Jinx stuck her hands under Ekko’s arms, making him shriek and burst into laughter again. She laughed with him as he squirmed in her grip. They would finish decorating those cookies… Eventually.

Your eyes flutter open as sprinkles of sunlight peeking through the blinds serve as your only alarm, traces of chocolatey hair prickling your skin as he nuzzles into your neck. Your fingers twirl the coils of his knotted tresses, smoothing them into shining waves before pressing kisses against his ear. And that's when you see it.

A basket perched on your nightstand, tied neatly with a bow, and piled high with various cosmetics and accessories. As you sort through each item, feeling nostalgia pinging with every gift, you realize there's a reason you recognize them. 

Each is a small element from a moment in your relationship—the nail polish you wore on your first date, the lipstick you chose for your first kiss. He notes the quirks of others subconsciously, though he chooses to ignore them unless it benefits him. But not with you.

He cherishes every ephemeral habit—the crease of your forehead as candles burn on, the haze of your eyes as raindrops pour down, the indention of your lips as movies summit closed. You're always too preoccupied to notice, but he gawks at you without shame, admiring the purity of your features. He is known for being abstract, but you are his complete opposite. So completely unabashed in sharing your opinions and sentiments, even through your own expressions. And in a way, you're far braver than he believes himself to be, so he knows he must remind you of that.

𝗖𝗛𝗨𝗨𝗬𝗔 𝗡𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗔 ⋆⁺₊ ⸺⸺⸺

Your sleep is interrupted by a yelp. For a moment, you wanted to keep your eyes closed, still sluggish with sleep, but a sequence of other noises pulled you out of bed. Unaware of the eyes peeking out from under the covers, a smirk on their proprietor's face as you shuffled out of the room, you journeyed into the living room. And he knew that you had found precisely what you were looking for when he heard a barrage of coos and badly muffled shrieks escape your lips, rushing back into the room with a puppy snuggled in your arms, a cute bow fastened to its collar. He knew your heart had been stolen at a glance, much like he had been long ago.

That puppy is now your child, a part of your family. Even if you don't realize it, this dog expresses his eternal fondness and dedication to you and any family you plan to have. He would prefer to pick a larger dog breed, the loyal type of canines that remain devoted to their families (Akitas, Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds, etc.). He knows you'd love any dog, but he wants to guarantee that you'll be protected if he isn't there.

And don't be surprised if an engagement ring follows a few months later. You're raising an animal together—your fur baby—and while it's a bit out of order, he wants to tie the knot officially. And you'll have the cutest little ring bearer in the world ⋆˙⟡♡

𝗙𝗬𝗢𝗗𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗘𝗩𝗦𝗞𝗬 ⋆⁺₊ ⸺⸺⸺

(I briefly discussed this in a post a while ago, but I wanted to expand on it a bit further.)

A stack of uniform presents pile in symmetrical mountains around the base of your shared tree; each fold intricately pristine. However, he insists on having a large breakfast, reveling in your anticipation with each course as you eye the gifts—it's too cute. Once you've finally reached the tree, he observes with unstated delight as you rip open the wrapping paper, only to discover hardcover copies of classic novels in your favorite genres.

He knows you peruse through his personal collection while he is away on missions, missing him and seeking comfort in his familiar words. Without your knowledge, he has caught you with a beaming grin on your face, skimming the story, enamored by his annotations. So once you've finished the book, with your thoughts written neatly inside the pages, he'd offer to swap with you, finding a sudden interest in the story.

Because the way your brain operates is absolutely fascinating to him—it is, in his (correct) opinion, one of your most stunning attributes. He finds himself seeking other ways to look into your thoughts, and if you just so happen to get inside his head as a result, he finds that he doesn't mind all the much.

𝗡𝗜𝗞𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗜 𝗚𝗢𝗚𝗢𝗟 ⋆⁺₊ ⸺⸺⸺

He would be bouncing up and down as soon as the sun rose, forcing you onto the sofa as he picked presents up from across the room. However, breaking away from tradition, he insisted that he opened the first few, utilizing many of your gifts as props for a little skit.

He enjoys your laughter more than any other sound in this world. It's such a freeing sight, watching you throw back your head, unable to help yourself. Even in the midst of his antics, he finds himself unable to avert his gaze, wide-eyed as you laugh without a care in the world. To him, you're always beautiful, but especially when you're happy.

And in that, he realizes that he wants to make you laugh all the time. Every second that you're together should be filled with joy. His heart constricts painfully whenever he sees sorrow on your face, and he has made it his prime duty in life to relieve your suffering. Anything that has ever made you laugh is collected in those gift boxes, and he feels lighter than ever as you giggle in your seat.

You have become the rope that tethered him to the ground, but he finds that he no longer wishes to fly free. Perhaps he has become exactly what he used to fear: his own attachments anchoring him, but he doesn't mind. He is a fool, but only for you.

𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗠𝗔 ⋆⁺₊ ⸺⸺⸺

He has never had anyone to celebrate the holiday with before; there hasn't been a reason. So instead, he would bury himself in his paperwork, trying to find a purpose through the letters, though he knew it was all in vain. So when he finds someone to celebrate with, he will ensure that you will stick around until the holiday next year.

You're met with bundles of presents, heavy with luxurious clothes and fragrant accessories, things he knows you like. But one of those gifts stands out amongst the rest: a simple box with a neat but fashionable outfit inside. Your eyes scan the seams, and it dawns on you—these are handmade. 

He knows his stuff about fabrics and colors, constantly choosing different options for the casino, and one of his stress-relieving hobbies (in my headcanon) is sewing. Before you came into his life, he made his own clothes, finding only brief comfort in the repetitive stitches.

But there is something so domestic about creating clothes for someone you care about. Thoughts of them are embuded in every stitch, seams pressed with care as it's molded to flatter your body specifically. It reassures him whenever you walk around the building, showing off your new clothes with a smile on your face—you are his family, his home. His other half. And you are here to stay.

MCYT Advent 2024!

Hello there mcytblr!

December is a special time of year. As we say goodbye to 2024 with the holidays and bring in 2025, we thought, what better way to get excited for the Yuletide season than counting down with your favorite content creators?

This event is an Advent Calendar, starting on December 1st and ending on December 25th (Christmas, for those who celebrate), with a special collab addition to start the new year on January 1st! We will be accepting ~24 participants, both writers and artists, and there will be prompts assigned for each day of the Countdown. Pieces are periodically released based on your prompt. No pressure to complete exactly on time; switching around is totally fine!

Remember, this is just for fun! While there is only a month to create, all we would like to see from you is ~100 words or a small doodle/sketch (though more will not be turned down :D).

Everyone is welcome, regardless of how you celebrate. So pull up a chair, get a mug of your favorite warm drink, and come celebrate with us this December!
