No all good! Good question, aegosexual and aegoromantic are seperate identities from aromantic and asexual!

According to many sources, aegoromamtic is described as:

those who enjoy the concept of romance but have a disconnection between themself and the subject of romantic fantasies. Think like “I don’t want to ever date anyone ever, but fuck these two are so fucking gorgeous together I’m in love for them”

Aegoromantic individuals may have romantic fantasies, enjoy romantic media, or engage in shipping in fandoms, but they tend to feel little to no romantic attraction in real life and typically do not desire a romantic relationship.

It’s the opposite to aegoseuxal, who, in my own experience, don’t feel sexual attraction for people but rather may have sexual fantasies and enjoy sexual content without including themselves.

Think of it like this anon;

“I like this character so much but I don’t want to date them I love them for this other character”

Or

“I read fanfics of this character aggressively but the second there’s a y/n im repulsed and the idea of dating them myself makes me Ill”

Remember not all aegoromamtics feel this way and if it makes someone happy to identify as something why stop them??

Aegosexuals feel little to no sexual attraction, since it's under the asexual umbrella. It's just in person physical sex acts, there's a level of disconnect between you being mentally/psychologically engaged in the act and genuinely enjoy it like a allosexual (not asexual person) does.

I've been to sexy themed parties. When I happen to look over at someone say touching themselves in front of a partner, the partner is STARING at them like a dog about to get a treat. This happens a LOT with the allosexual communities (the whole idea of "I find it hot when you touch yourself in front of me, of really gets my sex motor going!).

Similar stuff can happen to aces cause asexuals can still enjoy sex in the moment, but the intensity doesn't seem to be nearly as passionately there as allosexual people. Again, my personal observations.

What does this mean in plain English?

I rarely if ever experience genuine romantic attraction to anyone

I rarely if ever experience genuine sexual attraction to anyone

Sex and romance are fun, isolated activities, but I almost never think about it outside of fantasy daydreams, in the context of story building or for the purpose of building companionship (aegosexual bit)

"cleaning out the pipes" (feeling that uncomfortable sexual tension between the legs) is just another activity to me - like walking down the street or shopping for groceries

Lesbian because I genuinely feel more comfortable interacting with "more than just platonic/friends" with women 99% of the time over men or anyone else

I don't experience courtship or any sense of attraction as cis men are socialized to attract cis girls (basically I view the world not through heteronormative ways)

Oddball in aegosexual spaces

Part of my frustration with a lot of aegosexual circles/vibes is they tend to be VERY sex negative with IRL sex acts. So much humor is centered around this, so many posts are like "I drool at erotica (written, visual, audio) but you ask me to have sex with you? EW GROSS, GO AWAY".

I'm as neutral as you can be with doing physical sex acts (at least initiating it, lol). It's fun in the moment but outside of this, it's never on my mind. Yes, sex fantasies are fun in the moment, but again, outside of my body going "hey, time to clean out the pipes" it's literally almost never on my mind (I'm human so urges happen but outside of these hormonal instances 🤷🏽‍♀️)
