How I believe Alastor and Mimzy's first meeting went:

(CW for Mimzy being a bit of a clueless, racist)

Alastor: *sitting at the bar minding his business when he feels a hand on his shoulder*

Alastor, internally: If I have to listen to another man try to explain inflation to me unprompted, I'm going to have to murder him in front of all these people

Alastor: *turns to see who is trying to get his attention, only to have to look down, mind you, he is still seated*

Mimzy, smoldering, bi queen extraordinaire: Hey, princess. What's a pretty thing like you doing in a place like this?

Alastor, internally: *dumbfounded* Oh my god. This broad thinks I'm a woman.

Mimzy, oblivious: *talking advantage of Alastor's incredulity to yap about herself for half an hour* Anyways, what's your name, dollface?

Alastor: It's Alastor-

Mimzy: Oh my gosh, that's so exotic! Are you from Canada?

Alastor: ... No.

Mimzy: Oh, where are you from? I'm from Texas!

Alastor: I'm from here.

Mimzy: Oh, so you're like one of those indians? I thought you guys wore feather hats and shit.

Alastor: No. I was born and raised here, my ancestors didn't come from these parts.

Mimzy: So how did they get here?

Alastor: On a boat, presumably.

Mimzy: So did mine! Y'know, we've got so much on common and I got this gig recently, I'm a real rag time gal, y'know? So I make a lot of money and if you wanted, we could blow this popsicle stand and you can be my baby mama

I wanted to add onto the Al I did and give him his dance partner and bestie hehe! I love them soso much!! 🩷♥️✨ And it’s my first time doing a background from scratch! Yay! 🫶💖

This background took me several afternoons after work to complete but I’m glad I did it! I feel like there’s still things I could improve, particularly color-wise, but I’ve just gotta stop fussing and mussing with it for now! 🤣

i would like to see mimzy again if only for the purposes of seeing her scene stealing self again or getting jealous over "Alastor's little princess" or both I'm not picky

Honestly Mimzy appearing in the show again for whatever reason is a win for me,i don't care what her haters say she is such a diva and i love her

Her continuing to tease Alastor about his little princess would only make her appearance even better. My hc is that she picked on that Alastor is crushing on Charlie and is therefore is jealous of her

Not that I think she is in love with him but more that she doesn't want her friend to stop hanging around with her and stops being her fun friend in favor to stay in the hotel

But Outside of Charlastor, She already knew Alastor before hell so i would love to see flashbacks of them and how they interacted before they were demons and Alastor an overlord

But what i really hope to see in the later seasons is Mimzys club,in the Playbill it was mentioned that she is the owner of one and maybe it will be the location of an later episode similar to episode 6 but maybe this time Charlie, Alastor and Vaggie are there too ( Or maybe just Alastor and Charlie without the others😊)

I love the way you write Alastor and the way you write Luci. I know so many writers who maintain a very specific stereotype about aroace people, e.g. “Ew don’t touch me, you’re gross and I want to kill you because i would rather DIE then be touched” or “haha this character hates every single type of affection and is snarky because of it” and it’s just so icky to me… like yes some aroace people hate touch but they don’t hate other people, arocas people can have friends

yes alastor is snarky, it’s not because he’s aroace. he’s just a bitch (said with love) and his sexuality shouldn’t be used as his only personality trait,

idk if any of that rant made sense but I js wna say how much I appreciate the way you write and characterize Radioapple :3

Firstly- thank you so so much, this is so amazing to hear!!! It means a lot to me to have a canon aroace character, which is why I love diving into/embracing it in the fics I write!!

100% as you said, Alastor is a bitch because Alastor is a bitch, nothing to do with his sexuality. He’s a bit self centered, a bit harsh, a bit inconsiderate- but that’s just him and his sparkle. Not his sexuality.

And as for the hating touch- I wish more people understood how asexuality and aromanticism is a spectrum! It’s not a one size fits all! It’s huge!!!

Personally, I like to think that Alastor doesn’t particularly like touch due to past trauma, as well as sensory issues. I don’t think it’s all to do with his aromanticism (I think he’s more the type to be indifferent to romantic things, not repulsed by them) But I do think his touch aversion is real, just not stemming from his aroace identity.

And of course, I’m not in Alastor’s head (or Vivzie’s) but I like to think that touch is OK with Alastor, so long as it is on his terms- and I think “on his terms” includes those people whom he’s given either silent or spoken permission to in regards to touching him. Which is a huge difference from “I hate all forms of touch and I’ll kill you if you touch me”

We see with Mimzie and Rosie and Niffty that Alastor is OK with touch- he lets them initiate touch and he doesn’t bat an eye. Which is why I think so long as he’s comfortable with them, then touch is somewhat permitted. He may not feel the same sort of butterflies or attraction etc through touch- but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy it for what it brings to him!

I think it’s a big trust thing, and I also like to think it changes day to day. What’s alright on one day may be too much on the next. But I also like to think that Luci would be 100% understanding of that.

As you said- it’s not just all or nothing with aroace people, and it sucks that that streotype exists. At its core, asexuality is a lack of sexual attraction- but that says nothing against physical touch in general. And aromanticism at its core is a lack of romantic attraction- which again, says nothing on physical touch!

Not to mention, love is such a complicated, multi faceted thing. Aroace people are not incapable of love. Aroace people are not stony beings who do not crave reassurance and human connection. We just crave it differently than others.

My theory is that Mimzy was once Alastor’s best friend, he maybe even thought he might have been in love with her at one point, in that manner aroace people who don’t know they’re aroace often do, that she was then sacrificed by this cult, and that Alastor had them infiltrated and taken down every member of that cult over decades, losing more and more of himself each time as those he killed grew less and less directly connected to the crime, “sorry you just got in my way, maybe I enjoy it just a little bit does that make me insane”, but that in the act of doing so, that contradiction of righteous intent and pure depravity, along with whatever ritual for power the cult had initially started upon, let’s say in honour of Roo (the root of all evil in the Hellaverse, a character yet to be introduced), and that on Alastor’s eventual death, he then found himself in Hell all-powerful, and set about bringing down those Overlords beneath his power continuing this moral code, until he hit a wall, finding himself having ended all Overlords less powerful than him / otherwise came to his senses on meeting Mimzy again and finding her to have gone to hell, recognising that “weren’t you an old pal of mine” and really nothing more and deciding mere power, entertainment is all he now desires. But that still, out of obligation, that he must kill Lucifer, the Devil, for a sense of completion, while still being allowed to exist himself afterward. Which leads to whatever deal he ended up trapped in seven years before the events of the series, and him getting Charlie to make a deal with him to “harm no one” at a certain point in the future: to ensure that when the time comes that he will be able to kill Lucifer, and the one person able to stop him won’t be able to. To really make Alastor a true Exterminator, more measured, the embodiment of how the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

I love this theory and how you connected it to the song "Insane"!

Characters who start out with noble intentions, only to lose themselves to the madness of their own revenge quest is such a fun storyline when done right, and the idea of Alastor going out of his way to seek revenge on the cult who killed Mimzy would be an interesting backstory for these 2

I feel like we don't get enough stories where characters are corrupted by their good intensions, especially ones where the character isn't at all bothered by their own corruption

It also kind of ties in with my theory about their backstory where Mimzy was somewhat of an enabler for Alastor's violent tendencies

She'd go around causing trouble without considering the consequences, and than hides behind Alastor because she knew he'd take care of it, all the while he doesn't mind it because it gives him an excuse to take his aggression out on people who "deserved it" (the "contradiction of righteous intent and pure depravity" like you said)

I can imagine she was the one who got mixed up with a cult, panicked when she realized how dangerous it actually was, and sought out Alastor for protection like she always does, only for it to be too late

Queerplatonic Mimzy x RadioStatic, you have my entire heart.

These bitches living together for a century just as close friends, knowing and caring for eachother in life and death, sharing an Alaskan king bed after drunken nights, all of them fucking up whoever dares hurt their besties (better not mess with any of them bc you're gonna get jumped and/or murdered), sharing music tastes because of overexposure to each other.

• Mimzy and Alastor being die-hard country fans in their teens/early 20's until Vox introduces them to the jazz scene and suddenly jazz is their entire personalities. Vox is actually the one who is sick of jazz now.

• Mimzy and Alastor "date" for a couple of weeks and after the best night of both their lives (they hijacked a car and killed a guy) they mutually decide to break it off and avoid eachother for a week. Which is about the longest they can stay away from eachother before they're back to being friends again.

• Vox digs the murder. Mimzy is nonchalant in the face of it, but Vox loves the violence. He wants to be in it so bad. He is so obsessive, moves himself into their space, forcing himself to fit in where there wasn't room before. Mimzy and Alastor don't hate it though. They think his need for attention is adorable and he pushes the both of them in ways they don't find in eachother. He forces them to grow with him.

• Vox and Mimzy invade Alastor's space. He always hated the idea of children or a spouse in his house all the time, but Vox and Mimzy's schedules make it so that they coincide in his home far less frequently than a "normal" family would. He never worries about them throwing out the things he loves or breaking them, their things all mold into his house like they were meant to be there. Mimzy's ornate, but beat up couch that beautifully matches his mother's ottoman, Vox' state of the art television that sits on a tablecloth his mother made for Alastor when he was a babe, his own gramaphone with records that Vox collected with both of them in mind, Mimzy's jewelry cabinet with a picture of Alastor's mother sat on top.

• Mimzy dies first. Alastor feels like he could have done more to save her from her untimely demise and takes full responsibility for ensuring her a proper funeral when no other family of hers is to be found. Vox feels overlooked in this time. He doesn't find out about her death until well after Alastor does. Alastor isn't even the one to tell him. While Alastor and Mimzy were very public in their friendship, Vox and Mimzy were private and quiet with theirs. Everyone seems to acknowledge Alastor's pain in Mimzy's passing, but Vox' pain seems to be invisible in the wake of everything.

• Neither of them are willing to talk through these issues (Mimzy was always the one that could drag it out of them) and so their friendship becomes stilted. They aren't friends more often than they are friends.

• Mimzy, meanwhile has landed herself in hell and has started figuring out for herself who she is without them and quickly learns how to make an extra buck and protect herself.

• Alastor is the next to die. Alastor and Vox aren't friends when it happens. Vox feels guilty for it. He's the last one to know his long-time friend is gone, for the second time. Their distance left him unaware that he'd even lost something and he ends up grieving for what could have been, what he could have done if he'd just been there.

• Alastor and Mimzy quickly find eachother and things go back to sort of what they used to be. Alastor's back to protecting Mimzy when she needs it, but Mimzy still remembers how he wasn't there (even if it wasn't fully his fault) when she died or during the period before he did. So sue her if she decides to make him work a little overtime whenever she gets herself into trouble. They're friends and she'd do the same for him in a heartbeat (though for some reason he never gives her the chance to). Alastor feels so guilty and overprotective of her that he doesn't take even a moment to think of it as anything other than friendly and besides, it always gives him the chance to let off some steam. No harm, no foul.

• After Vox dies, he searches high and low for them. He apologizes for how he left things off with Alastor and makes it clear that he still wants to be friends and for things to go back to how they used to be. So Mimzy and Alastor let him in.

• But things have still changed. Mimzy and Alastor's relationship is tainted by guilt and manipulation, but they're still closer to eachother than they are with Vox in the wake of his absence. He did take a while longer to die than they did, after all.

• Alastor and Vox' relationship is still strained in the wake of their fights from when they were living and now that they're both dead, they seem to be moving further apart than they are together. They used to love talking about and hearing eachothers interests before, but now every time they speak about their interests, it seems to always come with a jab about the other's interests.

• Mimzy and Vox at the very least seem to be closer, but it's mostly in a civil manner. Mimzy has spent too much time without Vox and Vox has spent too much time wallowing in his insecurities over their relationship.

• It all comes to a head when Vox and Alastor get into a big fight about it and it seems for a moment like they really will kill eachother this time. Afterward, they agree that they need to spend time apart. And you would think that this would be the point at which they self-reflect, talk over their issues like mature adults this time, and finally resolve their issues, but no. They're both big egotistical assholes that live in the public eye and can't keep their mouths shut to save their lives.

• They make it clear to Mimzy that she needs to pick a side or fall to the wayside and she picks Alastor. He's the more protective of the two, she's known him longer in life and death, and their relationship isn't as strained. They do, however, stop living together. It just doesn't feel right anymore (without Vox there with them).

• Eventually we get to cannon and Alastor gets sick of her manipulations messing with his plans and she starts to remember a time when she fended for herself just fine without him.

• Just 3 egotistical assholes failing to be friends because their egos got in the way.
