Get to know: Robyn
Tumblr media
I stole the character template used in this fic, because I thought it was really thorough, and a good exercise for character building. So thanks ao3 user StarkPark!
Name
Robyn Margot Mills. Named after her (as of now) late father, Robin Hood. Her middle name means “pearl” and was the name that Zelena would have chosen if Robin hadn’t died.
Nicknames
Rob (by her friends)
Robbie (by her friends)
Love (by Alice)
Nobin (by Alice)
Pistachio (by Zelena)
Green Bean (by Zelena)
Appearance
Thin dark blond hair
Pale skin
Green eyes
Rounded glasses
She wears dark colored shirts, flannels, jeans, and combat boots. The only jewelry she wears is a ring her mother gave her, and an arrow head from her father as a necklace.
Face claims
Sydney Imbeau (young)
Tiera Skovbye (older)
Personality
She’s very passionate and fiery, and wants to protect those she loves. She’s loyal, but will punish perceived slights heartlessly to protect herself.
She’s optimistic and brave, but that can lead to her being reckless and impatient. She’s simultaneously self-conscious of her abilities and over-confident.
Due to how she was raised, she is a bit…emotionally stunted. Emotions scare her, and so she tends to hide them under a thin veneer of sass and a ‘mean girl’ attitude.
She has an old soul (which is why she’s so done with everything) and prefers when things are simple. As such, her judgments and reasonings can come across as too black and white at times, leaving very little room for gray.
Likes
Archery
Retro music and games
Track
Soccer
Traveling
 Stargazing
Dislikes
Nuts
Bullies
Being indecisive
Magic
Inherited magic from Zelena. She has trouble controlling it, and it’s not nearly as strong as her mother’s or aunt’s.
Health
Regularly healthy, doesn’t get sick often. But when she does get sick, she gets sick hard
Is nearsighted, and needs her glasses to function in everyday life
Has a minor nut allergy
Probably the most mentally stable of the group surprisingly
Sexuality
Lesbian. Sexually and romantically attracted to women
Fears
Being stuck in Storybrooke forever
Hurting her friends and family, either accidentally or on purpose
Heights
Habits
Burps and sneezes extremely loudly. Like an old man
Rambles when nervous or scared
Has that ‘push everyone away as a coping mechanism’ thing
Favorites
Movies: Sports movies…they crack her up
TV Shows: Oldies cartoons like Looney Toons
Music: 60’s and 70’s, indie, folk, and an occasional dive into pop
Books: Alice in Wonderland and other classics like that
Parent: Wishes she knew Robin in real life
Family member: Loves her aunt Regina
Sport: Archery, soccer, or track
School subject: P.E. She’s a jock
Food: Apple turnovers (thanks Regina!)
Sweet treat: Caramel apples (thanks Regina!)
Colors: Green, green, and more green
Animal: Foxes, like the animated movie about her dad
Toy: Still has a stuffed bird her mom got her as a kid
Game: Old NES games that Alex’s cousin boots up to her computer
Least favorites
Movies: Romance dramas…unless she watching them with Alice
TV Shows: Anything with a plot that lasts longer than five seasons (cough cough)
Music: Country (she and Leo had a fight about this)
Books: Any book series longer than three books
Parent: Zelena….
Family member: Has beef with Little John for Reasons
Sport: Insists that cheerleading is not a sport
School subject: History bums her out
Food: Doesn’t like spicy things (she and Leo also had a fight about this)
Sweet treat: Anything with nuts
Colors: Blue, red, yellow
Animal: Ostriches weird her out
Toy: Baby dolls…even the not creepy ones, just regular baby dolls
Game: Role playing games like DND, she does not have the patience
Career aspiration
Literally has no idea what she wants to do with her life except GET THE FUCK OUTTA STORYBROOKE
Social life
Doesn’t have too many friends outside of the friend group
At school, she wears her ‘mean girl’ persona, so the actual mean girls tend to flock to her a bit, but she wouldn’t define them as friends
Among her friends, she can always be counted to engage with the Shenanigans, or at the very least, won’t snitch on the Shenanigans
Pets
Zelena won’t let her get a dog, so she has a turtle she named Dog in retaliation

What I want to see on SVU this season....
Tumblr media
I normally do these before the premier, but obviously forgot. Also some of this list is obviously not going to happen, or at least, we have very limitied time to get what we want due to cast changes, but like let's pretend this was written like three weeks ago lolololol. Also gonna probably add in a few extra things after having seen the first 2 eps.
-Domestic Rollisi being happy, cute and making progress towards a forever together
-A Phoebe guest star, or even just some at home with Fin being soft and cute, like, hello, babysitting his grand kid with her?? (jayden? is the kids name jayden?) (bonus points if uncle munch also happens to be there. still salty he wasn't at the not-wedding)
-MORE COURT SCENES
-The return of Ms Calhoun (duh). Mega bonus points if it's her and Barba teaming up to work defence on a case cause that would be FIRE. like, give me a crossover so we get a full hour of them bickering through interrogation rooms, picking the jury and then working through the case in court. think of the WARDROBE. it would be amazing.
-Character growth without having to put them through immense trauma
-We find out McGrath is actually a terrible criminal involved with some bullshit so he gets busted and we never have to see him again. (bonus points if Garland or Dodds is reinstated)
-Some lgbt representation by our new bestie Muncy because i'm sorry but that girl is bi...
-Follow up; for Velasco & Muncy to NOT be anything more than besties. like, let them be work friends who sass the shit out of each other but it's completely platonic, let us see them out at a bar one night and at first it's "ah fuck, they're trying to make us ship them" but then in the next clip they're wingmaning for each other. (and this could be the easy intro for Grace to be all "dude, i guarantee i'm better at picking up women than you are" and her bi/pan comes out)
-Olivia to have absolutely nothing but happiness. and maybe a lunch or coffee scene with Cragen where she's all "how the fuck did you deal with us?" and he just laughs.
-Learn more about Velasco, and have him out there being happy, potentially meeting someone that hopefully doesn't have anything to do with law enforcement (unless it's Sam Maroun cause they'd just be hella hot together)
-More "follow up" style episodes from previous cases in the earlier seasons (like the herny one). I can't think of specifics right now but there are definiely ones that would be wonderful to be brought back. Even ones that aren't from that long ago. Like, Hank Abrahm, they had the PERFECT opportunity to address it when Pippa returned because he would have been out of jail by then. So like, we could see Gallagher again....
-Not necessarily SVU related, but would LOVE to see Casey and or Alex pop up on OC (or mothership). Esp because OC has mentioned more than once companies(?) that help "disappear" DV vics. Like, i would love to have a case related to that and Elliot & Alex run into each other, Alex having no idea he's back, he having no idea wtf she's doing kinda thing.
-And very likely never gonna happen but I'd love to see Donnelly back.
I say the last one like every other one is likely to happen LOL. I doubt most of it will, and I definitely had more thoughts but not really right now. So...there ya go...

Hobbies: science, learning new things, knitting, sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, playing chess, taking long solitary walks to secluded places, reading, writing, drawing, general handicrafts, dollmaking, cryptid hunting
Random fact about me:
when i was a kid i was obsessing over fantasy creatures (i'm still obsessed though) and always hoped to marry one-
Thanks!
Hi Anon! Thank you for your request! I hope you like your matchups!
In Legend of Korra, I match you with...
Tumblr media
Yes, Opals' older bother. I think you and Huan would get along really well.
You're both very creative people. He enjoys making sculptures with metal bending and he'd love working on his latest project while you sit beside him working on your own projects.
Huan would be inspired by you a lot. Whether it's something you say, do, or create, he'll always find something interesting to inspire his next creative work.
Loves reading gothic literature with you. He'd also love listening to your favourite music. Goth music is right up his alley so anything you like, he'll probably enjoy as well.
Huan admires your sass and sarcasm so much. He'll thrive off sarcasm matches with you, although his family can never get a word in when you two are in the sass zone.
In Narnia, I match you with...
Tumblr media
Another sassy guy! Edmund loves that you can match his sarcasm levels.
Not the most creative person but he'd love to watch your projects come together. If you ever create something with him in mind, he'd treasure it forever.
Thinks it's cool that you fantasized over fantasy creatures. He is a bit worried that you won't be as interested in him with all the fantasy creatures in Narnia.
Just reassure him that you still care about him and he'll be more than happy to introduce you to as many different creatures as you want.
Edmund would love to take walks with you. You get to be out in nature and see all the amazing plants and animals of Narnia, and he gets to spend quality time with you.
In Magnus Chase, I match you with...
Tumblr media
I feel like Magnus is the best match for you. He matches your energy well. He's one of the quieter people in his friend group but is also sarcastic at the right moments.
I see Magnus as someone who would love listening to true crime with you. He gets really into them.
You and Alex would get along very well. You match each others sass levels well. Poor Magnus is stuck in the middle, it's too late for him...
There's a fair few fantasy creatures that Magnus deals with on almost a daily basis so any of the "safe" ones he'd be happy to introduce you to them. Blitz and Hearth love you and think you're perfect for Mangus.
Magnus would love it if you made things for him. He'd prefer something he could wear or take with him on quests (things like bracelets are his favourite) but he'll treasure anything you give him.

003 for Melanie <3
The OG blorbo ❤️ it has been a day so this is a lot of chaotic thoughts strung together in a vaguely comprehensible way.
How I feel about this character: I LOVE HER she has never done a thing wrong in her life ever. Inconsistent underacted overacted missing from the plot dead and revived in the stupidest way possible SHE CAN DO NO WRONG. Season one Mel is a badass mf who looks hot as shit and I love her. Season two Mel is self sacrificial and emotional and scientific and I love her. Season three Mel is all "aha I am back against the odds I am going to fuck shit up" and in like 3 episodes she makes me want to rage quit the series AND I LOVE HER.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Mel and Ruth forever and ever amen!! Like at this point I don't need reasons why it's canon or ways they could make it work. I don't even care anymore no thoughts just melruth. (Y'all have got me confessing to Mel/Wilford already so I guess I'll also say Mel/Ben. Love and loathe you fic writers for endearing me to them because the show writers DID NOT. I guess also Mel/Audrey.) And in the fanon of Ruthie there's always Melanie and Lexie ❤️
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: her friendship with Jinju. WHERE IS SHE???
My unpopular opinion about this character: ...a lot of the things I just said I guess.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: acknowledge the See You Around scene with Ruth for the love of god I am FROTHING AT THE MOUTH. I wish she had had a better survival story than the fucking miraculous track scaler in the conveniently located nearby fully stocked storage that they ALL conveniently forgot about. Also I NEED more of her backstory including with her parents and Alex and no I don't actually give a shit who Alex's dad is but I wanna see Melanie finding out shes pregnant and how she copes with it all.
Favorite friendship for this character: I already said Jinju so I guess I'll just say Ben and Javi I just love them as the three musketeers and can you imagine life in that lil engine for seven years there must have been so much drama and sass.
My crossover ship: the absolute mayhem that would be Melanie/Sarah Alder. Two powerful yet vulnerable women with long dark hair, light eyes, jawlines that could kill you and me in the middle Oop catch me being horny on main. But also I would love her to meet Sam Carter??? Their brains together would be so intense. Neither of these work as long term ships though because they're too similar. Maybe Melanie/Gabrielle or to go back to the Bake Off theme, Melanie/ a young Sandi Toksvig. Idk now I'm just shitposting.

Season 2, episode 10: Let’s Go Make Coup!
Spoiler alert!!! This is a rewatch recap of Snowpiercer s2e10: Into the White. Naturally, it is full of spoilers for that episode. However, it also contains spoilers for some other episodes of season 1 and season 2. You have been warned!
It’s Alex’s turn to monologue this episode. In her opening line, she directly contradicts what Melanie said in the departure flashback - Alex was ten when the world became a train, not eight. I already need a break.
In the next part of the monologue, Alex calls Wilford “daddy Dubs”. If the fandom appropriates that for their Wilford thirst I’m gonna scream! Alex was lonely on Big Alice, and after seeing Layton lead by listening to others (lol what? He’s still got a lot of work to do on his listening skills!) how she’s now on Melanie and Layton’s side.
In the monologue breaks, Wilford visits the oubliette brig to drop a Labyrinth reference on Alex, and Layton and Ruth work on a dance routine in The Swamp.
Tumblr media
Ruth tells Layton they’re going to have to be ruthless, and he doesn’t point out the pun! Unforgivable! Layton tells Ruth that Wilford’s complete disregard for the lives of the people of Snowpiercer means that, to beat him, they don’t need to question whether they can sink to Wilford’s level - they need to question whether they’re willing to risk everything. Ruth is.
Alex finishes up her monologue by trashing the brig and saying that, one day, she’ll break the cycle and walk away from Snowpiercer, with its people.
After the opening credits, Ruth is doing all the work while Layton’s on a break. The guard asks for their lunch tray to be returned, and Ruth takes the opportunity to show the guard her Oliver Twist impression. But it’s a trap! The guard puts their hand through the window to retrieve the tray, and Layton tightens a trap around the guard’s wrist. They have a little tug of war, until Layton finally yanks the guard into the door. Layton stabs the guard with the shard of glass he stashed away last episode, and Ruth delivers a blow to the guard’s face with the shovel handle. Then they steal the keys, unlock the door from the inside (which feels like a big design flaw!!), and head out to find Javi.
They sneak around the train, and run into Alex in the brig. Ruth tells Alex that her mum is still alive, and Layton tells Alex that they’re going to steal Big Alice and pick Melanie up. I’m not sure how they were planning to disconnect the trains given that they’re supposed to be locked together forever now? Chopping off the tail, maybe? Anyway, Alex tells them that the train needs both engines to get over the Rocky Mountain Test Track, so they’re going to have to steal the whole train anyway. She also tells them about a secret entrance to Wilford’s bedroom! Layton wants to reward her for that by breaking her out of the brig, but Alex thinks it’s a better idea for her to stay - she’s going to pretend to be sorry to Wilford and keep him distracted.
Up in the First Class Dining room, Wilford is using the table as a desk, while Audrey is using the dining room sofa as a bed. He’s annoyed that Audrey isn’t awake yet, but pleased that his new advisor is an early riser. Till, however, does not look pleased to be there. There’s a W pin on her detective coat, and she points out that she’s not an advisor if he never takes her advice.
Kevin enters the scene to tell Wilford that Zarah threatened him with a fork when he delivered today’s dinner invitation. I would’ve liked to see that! Wilford suggests offering her a promotion to convince her, but Till and her detective coat advise him that Zarah isn’t going to be bought while Layton is locked away. Kevin offers to slap Zarah, so Wilford very vioently punches Kevin.
Wilford then asks Till why he just punched Kevin. She sasses him, suggesting it’s because of poor impulse control. But then offers a real answer: it’s because pregnancy comes with privilege on Snowpiercer. Wilford and Kevin then say the most disgusting lines in the whole show, and in the interest of our collective mental health I won’t repeat it here. If you know, you know.
Finally, Wilford orders Audrey to get up and visit Zarah.
The next scene is just straight-up comedy (and a little bit of killing). Layton and Ruth bicker as they sneak into Wilford’s bedroom, then quietly head out to the engine room. Conveniently they’re right next to all the swords! They select weapons and spy on the guards through the curtain. Then, it turns out that ruthless Ruth ruths just as hard as regular Ruth: she runs into action too early, screaming. Luckily, Ruth and Layton still manage to take out a Jackboot each.
With the guards both dead, Javi and Ruth both immediately freak out.
Tumblr media
Javi hugs Layton (the first hug of many this episode!), then tells him he smells like crap. Ruth gets everyone a nerve-steadying drink. Layton accidentally sits on the sofa next to a corpse, then awkwardly shuffles away. It’s gold. They catch us up on what’s happening with the train: they have two hours before they reach the curve, and need to somehow communicate their plan to Bennett. (But not Melanie? Why aren’t they radioing her with an update!? The guards are dead now!)
Ruth explores the weird shit in the room while Javi paces out his stress and Layton tries to mask how frustrated he is with his new allies. Ruth ruths hard again, and Layton comes running to her aid - but she’s just excited about the fancy bathroom. Ruth’s expression is pure joy as she runs the water.
In the Big Alice lab, Icy Josie is learning to use her new hand, and chatting to a new character. Josie was scared when she nearly froze to death (fair enough!), but she’s not scared about going outside now - she wants to see what she can do. She, more than anyone, deserves to fuck some shit up!
Next, we catch up with Alex. She’s apologising to Wilford, and telling him everything he wants to hear. For some reason, Wilford is still trusting Till and her detective coat? This feels like a plothole, but fine!
Tumblr media
Till clearly doesn’t believe a word out of Alex’s lying little mouth, but nevertheless, she advises Wilford that Alex seems to be telling the truth. Alex then takes her ass-kissing even further - she’s also going to apologise to Audrey and LJ. While LJ gives Mr. Wilford some breakfast, Alex whispers to Till that Layton escaped and he’s going to seize the engine.
Back in Big Alice, Layton and Ruth have both had a bath, and stolen some of Wilford’s clothes - a shirt for Ruth, and a t-shirt and leather jacket for Layton. Javi comes up with a secret code to communicate with Bennett, and calls in with some coordinates of fake track obstructions. Bennett checks them up, then confirms in his own code that got the message. This is all going far too smoothly! Javi bids Layton and Ruth goodbye, and he and Ruth share hug #2 before Javi locks himself into the cockpit. On their way out, Layton grabs a handy conversation facilitation tool from the Jackboot he killed earlier.
At the border, Lights and ZWreck receive a very circus-y looking delivery. They take it up to car 272, where Boki is waiting. Does he just hang out at the abandoned carnival in his downtime? Is that where Jinju, Klimpt, Zarah’s partners from s1e1 and Miles have been this whole time?
Boki opens up the box to reveal Ruth and Layton squished inside, and ZWreck looks at Boki as though he wants to be just like him one day.
Tumblr media
I really enjoy how much this episode leans into the ridiculousness of the characters and sets, and just sort of lets them all run wild.
Layton hugs ZWreck and Lights (bringing the hug count to 4!), while Boki marvels at the fact that he’s now allied with the Tail due to “son-of-a-bitch Wilford”. Layton agrees, then gets briefly distracted by the fact that he’s just stepped out of a box and into a fucking carnival.
Ruth updates Boki on the plan, and he confirms that he can set up a coldlock mid-train. It’s perfect! They’ll grab Melanie and bring her back to the carnival car, so that she can use the phone there to make a public address. Boki agrees with yet another stunning quote: “Okey-dokey! Let’s go make coup!”
Up in the Layton-Ferami First Class Living/Meeting Room, Audrey pours herself a drink and chats away to Zarah without any self-awareness. After a while, she softens a bit and explains that she’s trying to help Zarah - Zarah doesn’t actually have the leverage that she thinks she does. Wilford doesn’t need Zarah, just her womb (yikes!!!!!!!!) - the Headwoods can take Zarah right out of the equation.
Zarah pretty much ignores Audrey’s warning, and Audrey impatiently insists that they are the same as they’ve always been: survive, survive, survive! Before Audrey can try converting Zarah to the Wilford cult, their conversation is interrupted by a knock at the door. It’s Till and her detective coat! She’s back on room service duty! But she’s not delivering bug bar breakfast this time - she’s delivering a fist, directly into Audrey’s nose.
Zarah briefly panics at the sight of Audrey dramatically falling to the floor, then relaxes when she realises that it’s just her kind-of-sister-in-law compensating for the fact that she hasn’t committed any acts of physical violence for a few episodes. Till relays Alex’s message to Zarah, and they drag Audrey into a small room together.
Up in the engine, Sykes is making the most of Snowpiercer’s snacks while babysitting Bennett. He pretends that he needs to fetch some maps, but Sykes smells that bullshit instantly and tells him to use the satellite. Bennett carries on, claiming that the satellite reception is degraded, then makes a quick move on the Jackboot to shove them out of the engine and close the door.
Sykes casually eats one more piece of tangerine, puts the rest of the fruit down, and slowly walks towards Bennett. Bennett gets ready for a fight and says he doesn’t want to hurt Sykes, which is very cute of him!
Tumblr media
Bennett obviously gets his ass absolutely handed to him, because Sykes is a fucking badass. One of the many times that Bennett is crashed up against a desk during the fight, he manages to enter the command to switch the track. When the train changes direction, the unexpected movement throws Sykes off balance for long enough that Bennett is able to smash a laptop into Sykes’ head - which is how to knock someone immediately unconscious on TV! He radios Javi to tell him that they’ve successfully switched the track.
Next, Layton calls Bennett in the engine. They’re only about ten minutes from the station. Sykes is tied up on the floor, and warns Bennett that Wilford will notice that they’ve turned onto the rough test track. But Bennett hates receiving criticism about his driving, and tells Sykes to shut up.
Sykes was right, though: downtrain, Wilford notices the bumpy track. He gets Alex to check what’s happening. Alex calls Bennett and pretends it’s just avalanche debris. Wilford seems ready to accept her explanation, until LJ rats her out. He looks out of the window, then heads to Big Alice with Jackboot reinforcements. It’s a good thing it’s only a five minute journey to the border! A Jackboot is ordered to bring Alex, too. Somehow, they don’t notice Alex swipe a razorblade from Wilford’s tile and hide it in her mouth.
Alarms alert Layton and Boki to the fact that Wilford must already know that the train has switched tracks. Meanwhile, Bennett and Javi have a nervous chat over the comms while Jackboots hammer at their respective engine doors. Javi tries to make up for that time Alex called him the fifth engineer, and Bennett lets him have it in case Jackboots murder him within the next few minutes. Javi begins to play music and pray to the hula dancer figurine.
Wilford soon arrives in the engine room, banishes Alex from his sight, then gives orders to a Jackboot. He wants them to bring a cutter to the door, and to fetch his dog.
Uptrain, Bennett and Layton are on the phone again. Bennett is worried that he didn’t catch sight of Melanie from the engine. I still don’t know why they didn’t radio her as soon as Layton and Ruth killed the Jackboots near the start of the episode! Anyway, Bennett has slowed down, and he’ll slow even more when Boki’s cold lock reaches the pickup point. Layton and Boki peer out of a window together, hoping to see Melanie. And, not long later, they do!
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, on Big Alice, Jackboots have finished cutting through Javi’s door. They throw him away from the helm and start to beat him up, while Jupiter barks in the background. Javi repeats what Bennett told him last episode: Wilford can’t afford to kill engineers. But, unfortunately, the engine bros forgot that Wilford is the same guy who was literally going to murder them all at the push of a button in episode one! Wilford is not very logical when he’s angry. He sets Jupiter on Javi, then accelerates Big Alice as hard as he can.
Bennett desperately pushes the breaks, and contacts Big Alice to tell Javi to slow down. But it’s Wilford who replies. He tells Bennett that his breaking won’t matter, because Big Alice has more torque. In the background, Jackboots drag Javi away. Alex screams at Wilford to stop because the breaks will overheat, and Bennett panics that Wilford will derail them. Wilford doesn’t give a fuck about either of those very urgent problems, though! His number one priority is to make sure that Melanie gets left behind.
Alex cries out for Melanie at the back window, showing the other perspective of the final scene from episode six. She tries to plead with Wilford to turn the train around - for Melanie and the science. Wilford insists that the warming Earth theory is a fantasy - he thinks that Melanie couldn’t accept that he saved the lives of everyone on the trains. If that’s what he genuinely believes is happening, even after seeing all the data, then he needs some serious professional help to get him connected to reality!
Wilford then briefly calms down his anger, and tries to manipulate Alex instead. He tells her that it breaks his heart that she’s more like Melanie than him. Alex insists that she’s like both of them, but he doesn’t agree. He then tells Alex that he was just using her to get to Melanie, he has no more use for her, and that she can join Melanie trackside. Alex hurts him back, by telling him that he could never be the leader Melanie is! He retaliates by slapping her, and she fights back by slicing his neck with her razor blade.
Alex runs away while Jackboots rush Wilford to the Headwoods. The doctors patch him up quickly, and Icy Josie spies on them. Meanwhile, Alex sneaks through the train until she runs into Layton and Boki. They’re on their way to ask Ruth what to do next, but Alex has a plan for how they could still save Melanie.
In car 272, Layton, Ruth, Boki and Alex discuss the plan. They can disconnect some cars, quickly pop back for Melanie, and then reconnect again. Big Alice’s engine can run the train while they’re gone. There’s only one car that can be decoupled in a lockdown, though: the aquarium.
Back in the lab, Wilford is stitched up but still a bit weak. He orders the Jackboots to the border, then tells Josie it’s her big day! She has to go all the way to Snowpiercer’s engine (which only takes about five minutes, if you run inside the train!), and breach it to freeze Bennett. The Headwoods protest that Josie isn’t anywhere near ready to go that far, but Wilford yells at them to do it anyway.
Up in the Layton-Ferami First Class Living/Meeting Room, Layton is updating Zarah, Till and Till’s detective coat on the situation. He thinks that they have to go ASAP, otherwise Wilford will take over forever. Neither Till nor Zarah are thrilled with the plan.
Tumblr media
Layton calls back to his opening chat with Ruth - he’s willing to risk everything to beat Wilford. Till reluctantly agrees to join him, but Zarah still won’t. Till senses another argument brewing, and makes an excuse to get the fuck out of there. Layton and Zarah disagree about what’s safest: Layton wants them to stay together, but Zarah believes that all of Wilford’s creepiness about the baby will keep her safe. They decide to stay on separate trains, and hug (that’s hug #5!) goodbye. All these hugs, and still none for Till!
On Big Alice, the Headwoods take Icy Josie to the coldlock and remind her of her training. I really don’t get why they’re all going along with this, given that the Headwoods don’t think Josie is ready, and Josie is one of the least likely characters on the whole show to join Wilford. I guess she must just reeeeeeeeeally want to get outside and see what she can do! The doctors give Icy Josie a weapon, quickly demonstrate how to use it, and promise to patch her up when she returns. Then, Icy Josie goes outside.
The open coldlock sends an alert to Bennett. Sykes freely offers up the information that the coldlock alert must mean that Wilford’s coldwoman is heading outside. Uh, is Sykes concussed? Why is Wilford’s head of security just handing out information about Wilford’s plans? Anyway, Bennett realises that Wilford’s coldwoman must be Josie. Does Bennett know of Josie from that time his girlfriend tortured her, or that time he threatened to dismember her kid?
Sykes then continues to leak more information! Wilford likely sent Josie to breach the engine, which will kill them both. Maybe that’s why Sykes is telling Bennett everything: self-preservation. It’s not exactly the best quality for a security guard, but I like Sykes a lot more than Wilford so I’m not complaining!
Bennett is confident that Josie wouldn’t breach the engine, and contacts her via the radio. After a brief introduction, a polite discussion about the weather, and a chat about last night’s episode of Eastenders, Bennett asks for Josie’s help to disconnect the engine.
Up in a First class corridor, Wilford and Layton meet. Layton tells Wilford that he’s not there to fight.

There are so many iconic quotes in this episode!
There’s a quick scene showing Boki unlocking the overrides and updating Bennett. Then, we cut to Ruth. She’s running through the train, for an unknown reason. Boki is already at the aquarium car, and he and Ruth left car 272 at the same time! Why didn’t they travel together? Did Ruth have a side mission that got cut? Anyway, she gets lured into a trap: an open Hospitality door and a very tempting teal jacket.
Ruth runs in to grab the teals, and Kevin shuts the door with a single finger while menacingly zapping his cattle prod. It’s ridiculous, and I love it. Kevin demands that Ruth hands the teals back, or threatens that they’ll do it the hard way. Ruth agrees, gives her teals one last sniff, and approaches Kevin to hand over the jacket. But she’s ruthless today! As soon as Ruth gets close enough, she knees Kevin in the balls and steals his cattle prod. She then zaps him until he squeals, snatches the jacket, and runs off with the stolen cattle prod and her precious teals.
Uptrain, Layton has lured Wilford to the aquarium car. He tells Wilford to be nice to everyone while the train pirates are gone. To ensure that he does, Till brings out a bound, gagged, bloody Audrey. Wilford is appalled to see his paramour in such a state. Till whispers to Layton that Ruth hasn’t arrived yet, missing yet another pun opportunity! They are literally Ruth-less right now! Come on!
But Layton doesn’t include Ruth in his bargain: Audrey is their guarantee of Zarah’s safety. Poor Ruth!
Wilford asks Layton who’s doing the manual disconnect, and then the scene cuts to Jackboots running through the tunnels, towards Boki. He loses contact with Bennett while he fights all six of them himself! What a guy! Above, Wilford gloats that he’d never let anyone uncouple his engine, and begins to walk through the aquarium car. Layton grabs Audrey and threatens to kill her with his conversation axe if Wilford doesn’t move back behind the link.
Wilford calls Layton’s bluff, much to Audrey’s distress.
Tumblr media
She cries and begs Wilford for her life, but Wilford insists that he knows that Layton wouldn’t kill her. Some tense music plays while Layton presses the axe blade to Audrey’s throat, contemplating whether to prove Wilford wrong and kill one of his fellow revolutionaries.
But Icy Josie arrives just in time to prevent Layton from having to make a difficult decision! Bennett (having lost contact with Boki) has instructed Josie to smash the aquarium car. Josie breaks a window, and the water and sea creatures rapidly begin to freeze. As the glass begins to crack inside, everyone realises how fucked they’ll be if they don’t immediately run.
Wilford jumps behind the J-link just in time, and we have no idea whether Boki managed to do the same. Meanwhile, Ruth watches on from many cars away. She’s happy for a moment, before it dawns on her that all her friends just left her with Wilford. How ruthless!
The end of the episode shows Layton and Alex out for a little stroll in the snow. They banter via radio with Bennett and Till, who are sweating away in the engine room. When Alex and Layton reach the research station, Alex calls out to Melanie/Mom. There are increasingly positive signs as they move through the station, until finally they find a tent! But when they open it up, they only find Melanie’s data.
Alex picks up Melanie’s notebook and begins to read her mother’s goodbye letter, while Layton tries to find Gina’s cousins in the geothermal vent. When he returns, Alex and Layton pack up the equipment and walk back to the pirate train while Melanie does a voiceover reading out parts of her letter. She says that Alex is her hope, and tells her to learn to love their allies.
Finally, Bennett plugs in the climate data and the screens display some warm spots. Yay! The coup wasn’t completely useless! They all look to Layton for what to do next, and he suggests the obvious course of action (but in a suitably badass way)

And that’s it! Season three comes out tonight/tomorrow. Who else is Very Concerned?

rest in peace and power techno. you've done so much for the people of the mcyt community, and you will continue to do so. wherever you went, sass and sarcasm followed you and i will forever miss it. nothing can compare to the way your constant lax and mellow yet jokey and playful tone made me feel, especially during your last months. physically you may be gone, (far too soon), but may your name and memory last lifetimes to come. blessed be your afterlife, Alex

Maybe Forever
I did two remixes this year, and for @rnmremix I took on @daughterofelros and her story Maybe Someday which is about Michael plantsitting Alex’s plants. I turned it around, and this has Alex plantsitting Michael’s plants. I angsted in this, but the ending is still happy. Happy reading!
Ao3
It takes him by surprise when he gets the question, as it’s something he never thought Michael would ever be a fan of. Not because it’s wrong, immoral, strange or anything like that. He just didn’t expect it. Because, you know, it’s... Plants. Green things with foliage and sometimes flowers in all different shapes and sizes. Michael is rough, wild curly hair, motor oil, science and sass. Plants don't seem like something he would enjoy or care about. But here he is, down in Michael’s bunker where plants really shouldn’t thrive. But they are. Thriving, that is. Growing wild and beautiful in what is seemingly organized chaos around Michael’s science equipment and feats of mechanical engineering.
“This is what you want me to watch for you? Plants?” he asks incredulously as he looks around.
“Yeah? Something wrong with plants?”
He can hear the defensiveness in Michael’s tone of voice, and he flinches minutely. “That’s not what I meant, Guerin. I’m just surprised. I didn’t know you had them, especially down here.”
“There's nothing wrong with keeping plants down here you know.”
“I know that,” Alex says, his own tone becoming more defensive. “I’m surprised you have plants, I didn’t know that would interest you. That’s all.”
“I can have hobbies you know,” Michael replies, looking like he’s already regretting asking Alex to water them while he’s gone for a week.
Alex just looks at him, eyebrows lifting at the way Michael is acting, wondering if they can ever be close again without bickering. Michael seems to realize it too, as his posture relaxes with a deep sigh. He’s visibly calming himself down, and Alex can’t help but admire how easily he does it. Especially since he knows it isn’t easy at all for Michael, so used to keeping the charade that keeps him and his family safe up at all times.
“Sorry. I’m being defensive for no damn reason over here.” Michael sighs again, impossibly deeper this time. Like sighing takes deep stress away from him. Maybe it does, for all Alex knows. “My mom kept plants, and could grow them with her powers. I… I wanted to try it too.”
“You’re doing a great job,” Alex says, smiling at him. It’s tentative, but honest. Real. “And I’m sorry too, I was honestly just surprised, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad about it.”
“It’s okay.” Michael smiles in return. “So. You think you could be up for it?”
“Yeah, I’ll watch over them. No promises they’ll be alive when you get back though.”
“Nah, you’re Alex Manes. You can do anything.”
The smile on Alex’s face turns wry, probably a bit unsure. It’s not true, in so many ways. But he appreciates what Michael is trying to do. The confidence he’s trying to instill in the face of a task Alex has never had before. Michael knows how uneasy he is when it comes to situations like this. But he’ll power through like he always does. Especially for Michael. And it’s plants. It can’t be that hard.
-----
He quickly finds that he’s wrong. So damned wrong. He has no idea how Michael created a thriving garden in the dark bunker but it quickly becomes apparent that Alex cannot do the same thing. He can water them and trim them if needed but three days into Michael’s week away from Roswell and they’re starting to droop. Sad, missing Michael, drooping. The worst part is he knows how they feel. And his life has officially turned even weirder now that he’s sympathizing with plants. But he can’t help but feel for them, as the flowers lose a little of their shine the longer Michael is away, how the leaves aren’t quite as green. Their person isn’t there anymore. Maybe they’ve given up on Michael coming back.
Kind of like Alex has. Oh, he knows Michael is coming back to town, he’s only in Albuquerque for a week with Isobel. But as the days grow longer the plants still turn sadder.
If he can’t do this one thing for Michael, how can he ever hope to get him back. In the way he wants, in the way it matters. Back in his arms, his life, preferably one day his, or even their, house. After Maria, after Forrest, after his dad.
Realizing he wanted Michael officially back, out, proud and completely took a long time. The knowledge of it not so hard, the need and want harder. They’ve wasted time, so much damn time. And here he is, surrounded by green and yellow and blue, things so important to Michael because his mom was supposedly good at it. And Alex is having the hardest time keeping them alive and well. It’s making him feel like his dad, trapping aliens behind glass walls and torturing them for kicks.
He just wants to do this right. Then maybe, just maybe, he can find the courage within to tell Michael his hopes. But it’s not looking too good. He’s tried everything, watering, giving them lots of light, talking to them, hanging out in the bunker in case it’ll help. But so far it’s not working and the plants just droop more by the hour. Michael coming home is still three days away, they’ll end up being dead if he can’t fix this. And he fears whatever progress they’ve made will die with them.
He’s out of options though, he doesn't know what to try next. He’s not an alien, he doesn’t have powers nor gifts with anything besides guns and computers. Neither which will be handy here. He looks around desperate to find something that can help.
He doesn’t expect to spot a guitar. The same guitar he tried gifting to Michael which failed desperately. The same guitar he regifted him later, after Maria, after Forrest. When death of loved ones and broken hearts weren’t between them. When they could actually call each other friends. Regardless if that friendship was still fraught with tension, a will they or won’t they that still weighs heavily on them. Even when they try to push past it and just be.
But the guitar means much to them. Music in general means much to them. Maybe it’ll help.
He picks it up gently, taking it out of its case with great care before running his hand over it and smiles. The strings have just been changed, Michael has been taking good care of it. Something eases inside of him when he sees that, though he doesn’t quite understand why. The guitar isn’t a symbol of their relationship, Michael making sure the guitar is in tip top shape doesn’t really mean anything. It just means he likes playing. It still brings a tingle to the pit of his stomach which he crushes swiftly and surely. There’s no point in useless hope.
He brings it over to the chair by Michael’s drawing board and sits down, settling it gently on his legs and making sure no pressure is on his prosthesis as he sits with the guitar. He takes a few deep breaths before he strums. Of course the guitar is finely tuned.
He still checks everything before softly starting to play. He’s played Wonderwall a thousand times, he’s sick as hell of it but he still plays it first every time he picks up a guitar. Old habits are hard to break. He plays bits of the melody to warm up, humming alongside it as he does. Five minutes in, he’s relaxed, he’s more settled, he feels good.
He drifts from Wonderwall, eyes closing as he moves over to various songs from Breaking Benjamin, stripped down versions of My Chemical Romance, seamlessly switching to Blink 182, Placebo, Snow Patrol and The Strokes. He loses himself in A Perfect Circle, in Third Eye Blind and The Cranberries, resurfacing after he’s hit Linkin Park, Gavin Degraw, Panic! At the Disco and the odd Spice Girls song just to switch it up.
He lets the last note fall as he breathes out, smiling at the peace he feels just from the instrument in his hands, his voice slightly raspy from singing and the contentment of being wanted and free in Michael’s space. He smiles to himself, taking another deep breath as he opens his eyes again, looking at his watch to find that almost three hours has passed since he started playing. He’s not surprised though, music has always been the place he felt the most free, the most able to be himself.
He takes another deep breath, briefly closing his eyes again as he centers himself before he looks up at the plants. They look the same, but no worse either, so he figures he’s done all he can for the day. He decides to go home for the night, he’ll come back tomorrow and continue trying his best to keep them alive. He doesn’t want to fail now.
———
The shock comes when he gets down the ladder the next evening after a gruelling day at the base. He comes down expecting the plants to be their usual droopy selves but instead he finds them perked up, their foliage nice and green, the flowers shining and pretty. He almost calls out Michael’s name to check if he’s there, but he knows he’s not, having talked to him just an hour earlier. He’s still in Albuquerque, still there for a couple days with Isobel and the newly arrived Max. Just three aliens in the big city, he’d joked, Max hissing at him to keep his voice down in the background while Isobel laughed. They deserve the time away to just be siblings, after everything. But the thrill of Michael calling him still sits in his brain, making him smile.
But there’s still the mystery of the plants. Happier plants. Plants who don’t look like they’re on the brink of giving up. And the only thing he did differently was playing guitar and singing. Maybe that’s how Michael keeps them happy. He decides not to mistrust his instincts the way he usually does and after checking the soil and making sure everything else is okay he gets out the guitar again. He still starts with Wonderwall, still hates it, still can’t break the habit. But he moves along faster than yesterday, switching to other songs of Oasis, moving along to Death Cab for Cutie, The White Stripes, Stereophonics and HIM, before jumping over to Shinedown, Muse, Journey and Creed. He plays for hours like yesterday, loves every minute of it, and feels more relaxed when he opens his eyes again at the end and sees the plants visibly better in front of his eyes.
He laughs to himself, a laugh filled with more desperation and relief than he wants to admit. But it’s okay. Maybe he can do this.
———
He spends hours down in the bunker the next two days, playing everything and anything he has in his repertoire, rediscovering the love he has for the music he grew up with and feeling the thrill of just his hands, his voice and the guitar, surrounded by Michael’s space, Michael’s plants, Michael’s mechanics. He’s surrounded in every way by Michael Guerin, and his own wants, hopes and dreams for the man and what he longs for them to become. He’s spent years away from Roswell and Michael before but now, after one week of him gone, after one week of his voice in his ears as they talk and laugh on the phone until Isobel or Max drags him away, he misses him. Misses everything that they were, everything that they are, everything that they’re heading for. And Alex knows where they’re headed, now. Knows where he wants them to head.
He’s there when he hears Michael’s truck, still playing guitar, strumming along on notes shaping up to be another song, the melody forming underneath his fingers as words form in his head. He doesn’t stop playing, but instead listens as the truck stops and Michael gets out, as his heavy steps move towards the bunker and down the ladder. He opens his eyes as Michael stops, watches him with a smile forming as Michael stares at him and the plants in awe.
“Damn Alex, I’d have stayed home if I knew listening to you play was on the menu.”
Alex snorts, stopping his strumming and placing the guitar back in the case before he gets up on his feet. “It was the only thing I could think of to keep them alive. We had a few dicey days before I started playing, and apparently they liked it.”
“You’re a good player, Alex, no wonder they liked it.”
Alex smiles, taking a step closer to Michael. “Maybe. I’m just glad I got to be here, it’s been fun.”
Michael tilts his head in that inquisitive way of his, but Alex just shakes his head. His revelations and discoveries are too heavy for this moment, he’ll get to them eventually. Michael nods, understanding without needing words that this is something to be left for now. They’re good at that, easy, silent communication. Too bad they kind of suck at the harder communication, but that’s all fixable.
“Hey. Thanks for doing this.”
“Any time, Michael.” Alex looks down for a second. “I’m happy you trusted me with this.”
“I had no doubts you could do it. The doubts were all yours.”
Alex can’t deny that’s true. But here, in the bunker, surrounded by plants and Michael smiling at him in his carefree and relaxed way, Alex feels another doubt snap. And before he lets himself second guess it, he steps forward and cradles Michael’s face in his hands. He sees the look of shock, but also the hope that blooms in Michael’s eyes and pulls him softly towards him in case Michael pulls back. But he doesn’t have to worry, Michael pushes forward as easily as Alex pulls and their lips meet softly. It’s a sweet kiss, a familiar one, but no less exciting with no small amount of fireworks firing in the pit of Alex’s belly as Michael puts his arms around his waist and pulls him closer still. It’s everything Alex wanted, everything he needs, the appreciation and love for Michael flaring as their first kiss in a long time keeps on going.
It turns from sweet to needy, to wanting, to unbelievably hot quickly, but that’s always the way it is with them. They can’t help but want each other in all ways. They both break apart at the same time, moving away from the kiss but not from each other, leaning their foreheads together as they smile and laugh at each other, their happiness bubbling between them. It’s never a question if both of them want it, they already know that. Maybe this time they can have it too.
“So,” Michael says after a while. “My plants decided to try and die on you and you got them back by singing and playing to them? How’s you figure that out?”
“Well.” Alex sneaks another kiss just because he can, a thrill going through him as Michael hums in a happy tone. “I figured you sang to them. You know, since your guitar was down here.”
Michael pulls back and gives him a puzzled look. “Alex, I live in an old airstream in the middle of a junkyard. I keep it down here so it won’t be stolen.”
“Oh,” Alex says. “I didn’t even think of that.”
“I’m glad you didn’t.” Michael kisses him again. “I’m glad you can afford not to.”
“Guerin-”
“No, Alex. Your life has been shitty enough, be happy you don’t have to worry about that too.”
“How about...” Alex pauses, gathering his courage. “How about you keep it at my place? It’ll be safe there too.”
“Oh yeah?” The smile Michael gives him is blinding, beautiful. Happy. “You wouldn’t mind having me in your space?”
Alex smiles in return. He leans in, kissing Michael dirty and hot, the way both of them want it. ”I definitely wouldn’t. I’ll even take the plants, if you want to.”
He smiles wider as Michael laughs, head thrown back with unruly curls bouncing as he does. They need to talk, figure them out and take it day by day. But he’s so gorgeous, and Alex wants to keep him forever. Him and the green things who are perking up even more in Michael’s presence. And here he thought they were bonding.
“The guitar first. The plants we can talk about down the line,” Michael replies when he finally stops laughing. He tilts his head forward, looking at Alex through long lashes. Alex feels the same want bubbling in his stomach as always. He wants Michael in his bed, in his kitchen, in his living room. He wants him close, he wants them to be good. Together. They have a long way to go still, but it feels like a beginning. It feels like hope.
“I’d like that.”

New Beginnings
Spencer Reid x reader
Best Years Season 2 part one | season one
summary: Readers first day back on the job is a lot different then she expected.
warning: normal criminal minds things, mentions of suicide, fluff at the end (such cute fluff)
A/N: based on season 8 episode 1; so um, the ending is really cute.
Tumblr media
“I must say, Agent Y/L/N, I wasn’t expecting this to be the answer,” Strauss said with a disappointed look as she closed her leather folder.
“You’re asking me to leave the BAU, how did you expect my answer to not be no,” Y/N said with furrowed brows.
This is not how Y/N wanted to be welcomed back after her leave. She was gone two months and in that time Strauss decided she wanted to move her to a new unit. That was flat out disrespectful.
“Well with Agent Prentiss’s move, I was expecting you to want to be reassigned,” Strauss said, folding her hands on her stomach. “You have made progress here, and other units have seen that and want you on their teams.”
Y/N looked at her knowing that wasn’t the full truth, Strauss had something to do with this also. She always did.
“And I also believe that your time in BAU has been paid and it’s time to do greater things. You could be one of the best fugitive task force agents, your skills I’ve seen are-”
“I appreciate that Strauss, really I do, but I’ve made a home at the BAU-” Y/N stood up from the chair- “And I have no plans on moving anytime soon.”
With that, she walked out of the office and towards the elevator. The hum of the elevator was quiet and it only boiled her rage. Strauss wasn’t an all-around terrible person, but when it came to work, she always had to have what she wanted. Everything had to be tip-top and work out in her favor, and Y/N guessed Strauss forgot what it’s like to be in the field and work with a team.
When the doors dinged open, Y/N swiftly walked out and into Hotch’s office. She didn’t bother to knock, she just opened the door and stood in front of his desk.
Hotch looked up from his paperwork with a confused look. “Please, Y/N come in.”
She huffed, “Sir, do you think that my time has been paid at the BAU?”
He raised a brow as he looked at her with a confused gaze. “No?”
“So you would agree that Section Chief Strauss’s opinion to move me to a new unit is unprecedented?”
Y/N’s announcement took Hotch by surprise, clearly, he didn’t know about this. He set down his ink pen, signifying his full attention was now on the conversation.
“Do you want to be moved?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Hell no,” she responded quickly. “She thinks that because Emily left, that ‘I would want to move’-” she used a mocking tone with quotation marks as she quoted Strauss- “Said my skills would be of good use in Fugitive Task Force.”
“I can’t make any promises, but I will do everything I can to not have you moved, Y/N.”
His words were comforting, but with what happened with JJ a couple of years ago, she wasn’t sure. But that was the state department, this was still in the FBI, so maybe it wouldn’t turn out so bad.
Thanking Hotch, she walked out of the office and down the stairs to the bullpen. When she came to the door, she was met with Penelope and Derek. Penelope holding many nick-nacks from her visit to London with Derek to help Emily settle into her new life there.
“Garcia, you guys were talking yest-” Penelope cut off Derek as she saw Y/N approach.
“Y/N!” She exclaimed trotting over to Y/N in her heels to hug her. It was a difficult task with her bag filled arms. “Oh my gosh, I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too,” Y/N pulled away from her hug and reached over for Derek.
“Hey, Wonder Woman,” he said, giving her a squeeze.
“Were you one the last case?” Penelope asked.
 “No, actually today is my-”
“Wait, where is everybody else? Don’t tell me they’re still in Seattle,” Penelope interjected when she noticed the empty desks in the office.
“I just saw Hotch.” She turned to look at all the empty desks in the bullpen. Her brows furrowed in confusion.
“Well actually,” Derek said pointing behind Penelope to JJ and Spencer as they entered.
“Hi, you guys are back!” JJ said walking into the office clapping her hands together.
Y/N’s face lit up as she saw Spencer. She hadn’t seen him in what felt like forever since he left for the case in Seattle. Her mandatory leave allowed him to come over to hang out with her in a stress-free environment. But then she realized that with the emotional trauma she thought she buried had now bubbled back up, she couldn’t be alone. Her therapist recommended for her to live with Spencer. So when she brought it up with him, he was very enthusiastic about the idea.
“Oy, mates! Give me a squeeze,” Penelope said with a fake British accent.
JJ hugged Penelope then moved to Derek.
“Y/N, how have you been?” JJ asked moving to give her a hug. She hadn’t seen her in a while from her busy life at work and at home.
“Good, better now that I’m back at work,” she responded with a giggle.
Spencer then moved to hug Y/N after doing his odd handshake with Derek. A week and a half was too long without seeing her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and swung her in a circle and pecked her cheek.
“You would think they don’t live together or something,” Derek laughed as the happy couple reunited.
“Right?” JJ agreed with a laugh.
“How’s Emily doing?” Spencer asked once he set Y/N down and turned back to the three beside them.
“Brilliant and Lovely.” Penelope continued her accent.
“Her apartments off the chain,” Derek said.
“You mean her flat,” Penelope corrected his terminology. “You have to take a shaky old lift to get to the top, but the view is brilliant.”
Once she finished her statement, she did her excited little gasp and began to pull presents out of her bag.
“For my favorite bloke.” She handed Spencer a mug with the British flag on it.
“Hey, I love it! Thank you!” Spencer responded gratefully.
She handed JJ a little double-decker bus for her desk, which she thanked her for.
“Oh and Y/N, I thought you would love this.” Penelope then pulled a snowglobe the size of her hand out of a different bag.
It had Big Ben in the middle, surrounded by the streets of London with little people and cars filling them.
“Oh my gosh, this will go perfect with my collection.” Y/N smiled at Penelope and thanked her. She had made it a point when she first joined the team to, if possible, get a snowglobe from every state she visited. She had a lot now, almost all fifty, and an international one was a great thing to add to her collection.
“Hey, Morgan, how was temporary duty?” Y/N asked, peeling her eyes off of the beautiful snowglobe.
“Oh, it was around the clock,” Derek responded. “I thought I’d get a little more of a vacation, but…”
“Did you watch the Olympics at all?” Spencer asked.
“I did see a little track and field, but the queen bee here-” he gestured to Penelope- “She saw everything.”
“Hey, me too,  that’s all I got to do during my sabbatical, besides talking to my therapist.” Y/N giggled high-fiving Penelope as she related.
“Emily is, for real, hooked up over there. She sends her love, and tea of the month starts next week,” Penelope said, her eyes bouncing between the three who weren’t with her.
“Oh, I miss her,” JJ said staring absently at the floor behind Penelope.
 “Me too,” Y/N agreed.
“Don’t even get me started,” Penelope said shaking her head. “Hey, how’s the new? Is she nice?”
Penelope was referring to the new team recruit, who had joined during their time in London, and Y/N’s leave.
“Yeah, she is,” JJ answered sincerely.
“Y/N, have you met her?” Penelope turned to Y/N who was standing next to Spencer.
“I have yet to meet her, but Spence has told me about her,” Y/N responded.
“I’m just asking. Reid-” Penelope whipped her head to make eye contact with Spencer- “Do you know she was recruited when she was 24?”
“I’ve guest lectured in her forensics linguistics class before,” Spencer said.
“Of course you have, cause she's a professor and an agent, which is so impressive,” Penelope muttered.
“No, really, she’s great,” JJ said trying to convince Penelope that this change was good.
“Mm-hmm, and driven, clearly. Berkely grad, double major, bureau star of the Unabomber case, and she teaches at George town,” Penelope said, reciting everything she knew about this woman from her research.
“When she’s not doing that, she’s SSAing at the Washington Field Office. And she has her PhD. does that mean I have to call her doctor?”
While Penelope continued her spew, the four in front of her just looked at her with a ‘really?’ look. Y/N just let out a chuckle, missing Penelope’s sass.
“What?! I did some research on her cause I couldn’t sleep on the plane,” She defended herself. “And my point is, clearly, she is smart and capable but is she nice?”
As Penelope finished her question, Derek, JJ, and Y/N cleared their throats to stop her as SSA Alex Blake walked up behind her.
Y/N let out a giggle as Spencer moved away from his spot beside Penelope as if trying to get away from the situation.
“Oh dear god, this is happening. Where I talk and the person is behind…” she trailed off as she turned to be met with Blake. “Me.”
“The origin of ‘nice’, is twelfth-century Middle English, meaning foolish or stupid,” Blake said as she met Penelope’s eyes. “I hope you’re referring to the modern use of the adjective.”
Y/N let out a muffled laugh into her hand that covered her mouth, not being able to keep it in any longer. Derek smacked her arm but was also smiling as he was struggling not to laugh.
“You must be Penelope,” Blake concurred once Penelope stayed in a silent, embarrassed state. “I’m Alex Blake.”
“Nice to meet you. Really, actually nice in the nicest of ways nice,” Penelope said quietly as Derek placed a hand on her shoulder.
“I’m Derek Morgan,” Derek said, shaking Blake’s hand.
 “Welcome back,” she responded.
Y/N then stepped up to introduce herself.
“I’m Y/N Y/L/N,” she stuck her hand out.
To her surprise, she smiled adoringly at her. “Welcome back to you too, Dr. Reid mentioned you the last time he guest lectured to me.”
Y/N giggled and glanced at Spencer who had a shy blush on his face. “Good things I hope.”
 “Of course.”
“How was Seattle?” Derek asked Blake.
“The unsub made Ridgway look like a saint. He even used his own kid to bait his victims,” Blake responded.
“Mm, those aren’t fun, we’ve seen them before, and no doubt will see those again,” Y/N said with a grimace.
Blake nodded and was about to respond but Rossi walked in quickly.
“Don’t unpack,” Rossi said as he walked past quickly.
“Garcia, the files,” Hotch said as he also walked past.
Penelope nodded, muttering some words under her breath, embarrassed by her whole encounter as she walked away.
The team made their way up to the round table room swiftly.
“A few hours ago there was a prison transfer to the county hospital in Abilene, Texas. The Ambulance crashed and the prisoner escaped.” As Hotch began the case, Strauss entered with files and handed them to everyone.
“He’s wearing the EMT uniform, and he’s armed with the guard’s weapon,” Strauss continued.
“Aren’t the U.S. Marshals on this?” Derek asked.
“Yes, they are, but they need your help because this is what they found inside.” Strauss grabbed the remote and pulled up a picture of the victim.
“The EMT and the driver died in the accident, the guard, however, suffocated,” Strauss continued as they saw the Guard laying on the table in the photo. The EMT laid in the back in only his underwear and a white T-shirt.
“What’s on his mouth?” Y/N asked as she noticed the guard’s mouth had something on it.
“It was sewn shut,” Strauss responded.
“So the prisoner in the silencer,” Blake said as she remembered the signature.
“Or this guy’s a copycat,” Rossi countered.
“Forensics confirmed it’s the same unique double-knot ligature he used in all three murder,” Hotch said, debunking the copycat theory.
“His last known victim was in 2004 and he was never caught,” Spencer reminded everyone.
“So he didn’t go dormant by choice, he was locked up,” JJ concluded.
“Well, why not just escape? If he hadn’t sewn the guard’s mouth shut, we would never know it was him,” Derek said.
“He wants us to know he’s back,” Rossi replied to Derek’s statement with more clarity.
“We’ve got his face, what’s his name?” Blake asked Hotch.
“John Doe,” Hotch answered. “He was pulled over in ‘04 for a traffic violation, no registration, no tags, he carried no I.D.,” he continued.
“No way he did eight years for that,” Y/N said, confused as to why this man was in prison.
“They searched the car and found a gun with a silencer,” Hotch replied.
“A silencer, he was practically telling them who he was and no one made the connection,” Rossi stated baffled.
“It’s a federal offense, carries a 30-year minimum sentence, but it was actually what he did inside that guaranteed him life without parole,” Hotch finished.
“He killed two men while inside,” JJ said reading the report in her file.
“And never said a word,” Spencer added.
“Mm-hmm, he spoke with his fists,” Blake corrected as she looked at the report of all the fights he had been in.
“Remaining silent for 8 years takes a hell of a lot of self-restraint,” Derek said.
“Maybe it was a conditioned response,” Spencer said looking back at Derek.
“Garcia’s gathering all the files from ‘04, we’ll catch up on the plane. Wheels up in 30.” Hotch picked up his file and nodded his head to dismiss everyone.
Y/N walked out of the room with Spencer trailing behind her closely.
“Hey,” he said, catching up beside her while she was at her desk. “How was your meeting with Strauss?”
Y/N just looked at him with an annoyed look, hoping that would tell him how she felt about it.
 “That bad?”
“Oh yeah, but we’ll talk about it when we get back.” She pulled her duffle over her shoulder and laid her coat across her arm.
Spencer nodded, grabbing his own bag, and led the way out of the office.
----------
Everyone sat in silence on the plane, looking over the files in hand. It wasn’t awkward, but it was filled with the stiffness you get when everyone’s minds are busy at work.
“Did any of you work on the Silencer case?” Blake asked, breaking the silence in hope to relieve the tension.
“That was during my extended sabbatical,” Rossi answered.
“I was still in college,” Y/N also answered.
The air became stiff again as Y/N mentioned college. After many times of telling the team, she was fine, and most of her trauma was gone, they still avoided the topic of college memories. She appreciated the fact they didn’t want to trigger any unwanted trauma, but she hated the fact that they walked on eggshells about the topic.
“We all consulted, but nobody made the trip to Texas,” Hotch said, answering for the rest of the team.
Blake looked up confused as to why they didn’t make the trip. “Why not? Three women in four months, it’s textbook kill rate, an undeniable signature, obvious surrogates.”
She let out a scuff of confusion.
“We weren’t invited by local police,” Hotch responded, disappointment that they weren’t invited evident in his voice .
“Aren’t you tired of that?” Blake said, annoyed that was the case of their help not being there.
The team chuckled, all silently saying ‘we know it’s annoying’.
“Welcome to our world,” Y/N giggled along with everyone else.
“The women he killed were beaten and left in open ditches. That physical representation of his anger is missing this time around,” Derek said as he switched the subject to victimology.
“He must do something else that satisfies him,” JJ said.
“The signature is the same, but his victimology couldn’t be more different,” Spencer began answering JJ and Derek’s statements.  The guard was clearly a victim of necessity, but if he’s in need-driven behavior, such as sewing the mouths shut, how can he control that and only do it to the guard?”
“Maybe he just ran out of time,” Y/N said, answering Spencer’s now posed question.
“Or he could just want the guard to suffer in silence,” Derek argued.
“Literally makes his victims shut up,” Rossi agreed with his own twist on the argument.
“It seems obvious, but, uh, there may be something to it,” Hotch said, turning his head to Spencer for confirmation.
 Spencer nodded his head.
“Then the question is why?” Blake asked.
“Morgan, you, Y/N, and JJ go to the M.E., Reid, you and Dave check out John Doe’s cell, and Blake and I will head to the U.S. Marshals,” Hotch said.
------------
Y/N hated the M.E., it smelt weird to her. She could deal with dead bodies, sure, but it was the smell of all the sterile equipment and the LED lights that gave her a headache.
“The suture is 6-zero nylon, P-3 needle, 13-millimeter long, ⅜ circle. A dozen of these would come in a box,” The M.E. said as she walked over to JJ, Y/N, and Derek who were beside the body.
“The suture drawer was empty on the ambulance,” Derek said.
“Then he’s got a lot more,” the M.E. concluded.
“His techniques aren’t like a mortician,” JJ said as she examined the mouth.
“It almost looks like the stitching is strictly through the lips,” Y/N agreed. She crossed her arms over her stomach as she leaned down closer to the face of the body. She turned her head to look at the stitching that almost looked like something from a horror movie.
“It’s rather crude what he’s done,” the M.E. added then pointed to the lips of the guard. “You see how the nylon is stretched? The victim struggled, which says the prisoner did it while this guy was still alive.”
“Torture, just like his first victims,” JJ said, concluding that this was the torture for this victim like how he did with his others.
“Well, now that you’ve seen his handiwork, I’ll open his mouth.” The M.E. picked up a pair of surgical scissors and cut the nylon suture.
When the nylon was cut, the M.E. used her hands to open his mouth. As she did so, the four saw an orange bag folded up in his mouth.
“What’s that?” Y/N asked as she peered at the object closer.
As the M.E. opened the folded bag, they saw the note written inside.
“ ‘Gazing through to the other side’,” Derek read aloud.
“That’s not much of a taunt.” JJ’s face contorted as she thought about the note.
“Maybe it’s not for us?” Y/N posed as she looked at the two agents.
 “Then who?” Derek asked.
--------------
“He literally put words in the guard’s mouth,” Y/N said as her, Derek, and JJ walked into the conference room of the U.S. marshall’s precinct.
When they walked in, it looked like Spencer and Rossi had also just arrived and been telling Blake and Hotch of their findings.
 “That’s new,” Rossi stated.
“Well, we think this is what we were missing, the words give him the pleasure the beatings used to bring,” JJ relayed what they discussed on the car ride there.
“Maybe we had this wrong, what if the ritual is sewing the mouths shut?” Spencer posed, which everyone gave him slightly confused glances as a response.
“His signature used to be the beatings, but now it’s putting words in their mouths,” Spencer clarified what he meant.
“Yeah, just when you think a signature doesn’t get more solid than that,” JJ said, agreeing with Spencer.
“What did he write?” Blake asked Derek, who was holding the note in the bag.
“ ‘Gazing through to the other side’,” Derek read the note again. He held it up to show it to the group.
Blake gave a confused face as she tried to think if she had heard the words before.
“It’s not an anagram,” Blake deciphered. “Is it a phrase in anything you’ve read so far?” She looked at Spencer who had a pile of notepads in front of him.
“No, it’s not a well-known literary reference either,” Spencer answered.
“Well, the words mean something to him, otherwise he wouldn’t share it,” Blake said as she pointed down to a notepad she was holding.
“It’s gonna get dark soon, he’ll be on the move.” Hotch’s statement was more of a spoken thought.
“You want us on the roads with the marshals?” Derek asked Hotch.
“No, I think we should concentrate on remote locations,” Hotch answered. “He’s not just escaping detection, he’s a recluse. He’ll be attracted to isolated locations.”
As the day went into the night, the team had sent out marshals to cover some areas they thought the unsub could be based on a geo-profile Spencer and Y/N made. They got an unfortunate hit at a local, isolated gas station. The owner had been killed with his mouth sewn shut.
Spencer, Y/N, and Blake stayed back at the precinct to help develop more of the profile and hopefully decipher more of the note.
“Blake,” Blake said as she answered her phone.
Y/N and Spencer could hear the faint voice of Derek on the other side.
“Did you get another note?” Blake asked. Derek responded with a ‘yep’ then Blake asked, “Can I put you on speaker?”
Assuming he said yes, she pulled the phone away from her ear and pressed the speaker button.
“ ‘Waiting on the taste of honey...the smell of summer,” Derek read.
Y/N thought for a second, then looked between Spencer and Blake hoping they knew what it meant.
“ ‘And the sight of the other side’, three of the senses,” Blake said as she pieced the notes together.
“Then we’re only missing sound and touch now,” Y/N said as she could now understand more of what the unsub was doing.
“This guy’s like Jekyll and Hyde writes a decent thought and then sews it in the mouth,” Derek said with slight irritation in his voice.
“Whatever he is, he’s romanticizing the hell out of this, thank Morgan,” Blake said, hovering her finger over the red hangup command.
“Sure,” he responded then Blake hung up.
“ ‘Gazing through to the other side, waiting on the taste of honey, the smell of summer.’ Do you think he’s telling us about a place?” Spencer asked as he said the whole quote.
“That’s what it sounds like,” Y/N responded.
“But…” Blake said and glanced back at the board and then walked to it. “Where?” She drew out the word with a sigh as she looked at a map.
-------------
“We can’t tell you exactly where this unsub’s going or what he’s thinking, but his actions will betray his intentions,” Hotch said as they began this odd profile.
“And how’s that?” Tilghman, the captain of the marshals, asked.
“Earlier tonight at the gas station, he could have stolen money, but the register wasn’t empty. That tells us he’s not planning a long road trip,” Hotch answered.
“And yet he’s logical enough to be in survival mode,” Y/N added.
“So logic tells him to escape, I get that,” Tilghman said then continued to ask a question. “But what the hell makes him sew mouths shut?”
“It’s a compulsion over which he has no control,” Hotch replied.
“So how do we stop him?” Tilghman asked.
“Well, truth shows itself through actions,” Derek began. “What’s this guy’s truth? He feels silenced. Agent Hotchner has a theory that he had a speech impediment that made him embarrassed to talk. He may have been relentlessly teased because of it.”
“His prior victims tell us a woman, likely a mother figure is to blame,” JJ said.
“Chances are she was abusive and convinced him that whatever words he had were worthless,” Y/N continued.
“This guy hasn’t spoken a word in eight years, could he have been mute?” Tilghman asked.
 “Definitely not,” Blake answered.
“You sound pretty damn sure,” Tilghman challenged.
“He refers to IPA in a few of his personal writings,” Blake responded.
 “What’s IPA?”
“International Phonetic Alphabet. It represents only those qualities of speech that are in spoken language,” Blake answered.
“It’s proof that he’s able to hear, which means most likely he can talk but chooses not to,” Y/N said as she could add onto Blake’s thought.
“Then what’s he using it for?” Tilghman continued his questions.
“He uses multiple languages to communicate. IPA is an interesting choice, I’ve found that those who understand something as detailed as that are also proficient in sign language,” Blake concluded.
“So these words that he’s leaving in these mouths are directly taunting us?” Tilghman asked what Y/N hoped was his final question.
 “Those messages--”
“Have not been analyzed yet,” Blake interjected Y/N with a lie.
Y/N looked at her confused why she would do that then to Derek who had tapped her leg and gave her a confused look. Y/N simply shrugged at Derek answering his glance.
“You know, not to change the subject,” Spencer said, clearly changing the subject, hoping no awkward tension would come from the interjection. “But he’s incredibly well-read, which tells us that he grew up in isolation with literature being his only escape. His own writings are not as profound and despite his reading comprehension, we don’t think he’s had an extended education.”
“Everything about his psychosis says the spoken word has value, it also greatly angers him,” Rossi said.
“And if he was yelled at or made to feel stupid, he held onto his anger until he snapped,” Hotch added.
“So why hasn’t he fled the area?” Tilghman asked. “He knows there’s a manhunt going down, wouldn’t he want to get as far away as possible?”
“Well, he could be on a mission. We just don’t know if that mission includes a person or a place, but we do know his target is close to here,” JJ answered both of Tilghman’s questions.
“Thank you,” Hotch said, dismissing everyone.
When they stood up to leave the room, Derek tapped Y/N to get her attention.
“You want to talk to her about that?” He asked, referring to Blake cutting her off.
“Want to join me?” She responded which Derek nodded to.
“Hey, Blake,” Y/N said, making the dark-haired woman turn to her. She really didn’t want to piss this woman off, but she needed to know why she dismissed that part of the profile.
“Wouldn’t you say that those messages are related to the profile?” Y/N asked, wringing her hands together nervously.
“To a degree, yes,” Balke answered.
“A degree?” Derek questioned her response. “He basically signed his name to the murders.”
“He’s never left words before, that’s a significant change of behavior,” Y/N added onto Derek’s statement.
“But you completely dismissed it,” Derek finished. Those are the words Y/N was afraid would piss off Blake.
“Because the Marshals have their own agenda,” Blake said in a whisper. “And will believe it’s a taunt no matter what we tell them. We don’t need to give them any more fuel.”
Blake was right, Y/N and Derek knew that, but she should have brought that up with them before delivering the profile.
“If the unsub needs to get his thoughts out, it’s like he’s reminding us of something, and until we know what that something is I’m not comfortable speculating in front of them,” Blake finished expressing how she felt about it.
“Well, how about the rest of us?” Y/N asked. The question came off as defensive and that was not her intent.
“Dr. Reid and I are coming up with theories-” she shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly- “you two are welcomed to join us.”
Derek looked at Y/N. She was pressing her thumb across the top of each of her fingers, pushing hard as a way to express her anger.
When Blake had walked away after Derek had given her a response to do so, Y/N let out a breath.
“Do you think she’s intentionally trying to make us feel inferior?” Y/N whispered to Derek, who let out an agitated sigh.
“Come on, let’s at least join her and boy wonder to give her a chance.”
-----------
The next morning, Y/N, Hotch, and Blake rolled up to the sight of the crime scene. The morning was cloudy and almost seemed dull. Appropriate for the circumstance of the child in his carrier left under a tree.
“Marshal, where are the parents?” Hotch asked Marshal Tilghman as they got closer.
“Father’s in the stall dead, no sign of the mother,” Tilghman responded. “He stole the victims I.D.’s so I have no idea who he is, or what kind of vehicle we’re looking for.”
“Was there another message?” Blake asked.
“They're checking right now.” Blake nodded and walked to the shed where the body was.
Y/N squatted down in front of the baby in the carrier. He was sleeping peacefully, a blanket laid carefully on top of him, his pacifier on top of the blanket, and his bottle beside it. That was odd because this baby was only a few months old.
“This baby is only a few months old, he’s too young to hold the bottle himself.” Y/N gestured to the bottle.
“Maybe the father fed him,” Tilghman said.
“You wouldn’t take the baby out of the safety of your car in the middle of the night.” Y/N shook her head at the thought of the unsub touching this poor little guy. A sudden motherly feeling overtook her and all she wanted to do was hold this baby.
“Then you’re telling me this guy killed a man then came out here for the baby?” Tilghman was confused by the theory.
“That’s exactly what he did,” Hotch answered solemnly. “He stayed with him while he slept and then gave him his pacifier.”
“Well then, maybe he’s not that far away,” Tilghman said then walked away.
As he walked away, Blake walked over and replaced the spot he vacated.
“There were no words left in the mouth this time,” Blake said as she got close to Hotch.
“I think caring for the baby is his message,” Hotch said as he looked down at the child.
“Then he must relate to the child,” Blake concluded.
“Maybe he’s obsessed with nature he didn’t get,” Y/N said. Her focus never left the baby though, she was too worried about him waking up and crying for it to be diverted away.
“Or simply wanted him to be quiet,” Blake added.
“He’s telling us he has boundaries?” Hotch wondered.
“He’s too unstable for that, I’d say he’s lucky,” Blake said as she gave a tight-lipped smile to the baby.
Y/N then looked to the side of the carrier, her hand reached under the blanket to move it off the ground. When she did so, an orange biohazard bag revealed. She picked it up and stood up from her squatted position to show Blake and Hotch her findings.
When they saw what she had, she opened the bag to see what was inside.
“Scissors...suture kits...medical tape.” She listed off the items she saw in the bag to them.
“What’s he trying to tell us? That he’s finished killing?” Blake asked.
“He left his tools behind. That usually means you’re gonna call it quits,” Y/N said as she agreed with Blake’s question.
“He didn’t leave the stolen gun,” Hotch reminded them of the item. “He’s not giving up.”
With that, the three finished up at the crime scene and headed back to the precinct to rethink what his next move will be.
“Okay,” JJ began with a sigh. “So he leaves words until today, maybe he’s closer to what he’s looking for?”
“He could have already found it,” Derek said, answering JJ’s questioned theory. “If he feels satisfied, he may disappear.”
“Mm, we’re too close to let that happen,” Blake said with her hands pressed against one another in front of her face.
“All right, then we go back to the first kills; three women, late forties, all working class. Mothers, brunettes, beaten and left in a ditch. That was his message, he hated them,” Hotch said trying to give a new train of thought for everyone.
“Maybe he’s not targeting women anymore because he already killed the person he blames,” Y/N proposed. She had been looking down at her journal in her lap, when she looked up, she was met with Spencer’s gaze.
She blushed, even after a year of dating, his gazes of adoration still give her butterflies.
“Most likely his mother,” Blake said, agreeing with Y/N.
“We should have Garcia run all the victims’ names again,” Hotch said, pulling over the conference phone, dialing Penelope’s number.
“At your service,” Penelope said, answering the phone after one ring.
“Pull up the ‘04 victims,” Hotch ordered.
 “Done.”
“All right, we need a list of their children,” Hotch continued his orders.
“Okay, next of kin, state welfare, give me a sec…” Penelope’s voice trailed off as she searched then a ping was heard. “Gotcha! Okay, some were put into foster care after their moms died, runaways, truancy, not good.”
 “Any incarcerated?” Hotch asked.
“A handful, do you have any more parameters?” Penelope asked in hopes of getting a hit.
“Uh, not yet, just send us the list,” Hotch answered.
“Comin’ at ya now.” Penelope hung up.
“All right, let’s start with the first victim.” Hotch pulled the list up on his phone.
“Julie Myres.” JJ pointed with her pencil to the victim on the board.
“Three boys- Mark, Greg, and John, born ‘70, ‘72, ‘74, history of truancy. Child services lost track of them.” Hotch read from the list, only hitting the highlights and not going into the full detail.
“Is there any family history of cajun French?” Blake asked.
“Yeah, Julie Myres was born in New Orleans,” Hotch answered as he read the bio of the victim.
“Could Explain his interest in the language,” Y/N posed with a shrug.
“Let’s jump ahead to his most recent behavior-” Derek grabbed a bag with the evidence Y/N found by the baby- “He leaves all of this behind. Is it his version of surrender?”
“What’s the medical tape for?” Rossi nodded to the tape in the bag. “He didn’t use it on any of the victims.”
“Yet it was important enough for him to steal from the ambulance,” Derek said as he gestured to the item in the bag.
“Maybe he’s using it on himself.” Y/N leaned forward on the table. “We said he may have some kinda nerve damage, if that’s the case, his eye won’t shut by itself.”
“So he would have to tape it down,” Derek said agreeing with Y/N’s statement.
“It’s his left eye, the same where the recent scars are,” Hotch added.
“Under his ear,” JJ said, remembering the scar in the picture. “What if he was trying to stop from hearing.”
“That’s pretty severe, taking a knife to your own head,” Rossi said, not sure if that would be the case.
“He may have had an implant, the electronic pulses enhance natural sound. If all he wants is peace, an implant is like having a speaker that goes to eleven,” Blake said.
With this new theory in play, Hotch hit the redial button to call Penelope back.
“That was fast,” Penelope said when she answered.
“Do any of the children have a cochlear implant?” Hotch asked, hopeful for a yes.
“Uh, 1988, John Myers,” Penelope responded after a small pause for her searching.
“He was fourteen at the time,” Hotch said looking at his birthdate.
“Yeah, his mom was paid six hundred and fifty bucks for the medical trial,” Penelope said as she did some more digging.
“Was he deaf before that?” Y/N asked leaning closer to the phone.
“Had to be in order to participate,” Penelope answered. Her fingers typing on the keys could be heard through the call as she pulled up more of the trial. “Yikes, it was a highly experimental procedure. It was rested on humans, not animals-”
Everyone’s eyebrows shot up in shock at her words.
 “Caused quite the controversy.”
“So mom gives him the gift of hearing and it turns out to be a curse,” Rossi said as he came to a conclusion for a motive.
“Spent his first fourteen years in silence, gets lost in the world through books, learns languages-- anything to escape,” Spencer said.
“He’s content, and then his mom gets paid to use him as a guinea pig and now he can’t turn the noise off,” Blake said as she thought more into his motive.
“He blamed her and he wanted her to suffer,” JJ said, agreeing with Blake.
The team kept working, pulling different theories and piecing together scenes.
Y/N tried to focus, but she was having a hard time. Spencer was focused with Blake on trying to decipher the two notes, and she really couldn’t follow what they were saying. All she could think about was that poor baby.
“Hotch, I’m going to get some air.” Y/N stood up from her chair.
Hotch nodded his head, and the rest of the team watched as Y/N swiftly walked out of the room and out the doors.
When the air hit her, she felt capable of breathing again. She laced her fingers together and placed them on top of her head. The sun was warm on her face and she felt like her head was clear for the first time in hours.
Her arms fell down to her sides when she heard the front door open. She expected it to be Spencer, but she was surprised when she was met with Blake.
 “You okay?” She asked sincerely.
Y/N took a breath in through her nose, no tears came from her eyes, but the breath was shaky like she was crying.
Running her hands down her face, she let out the breath she took in. “Yeah, yeah, I’m good.” She looked at her with a tight-lipped smile.
An awkward silence fell between the two as Y/N was still trying to compose herself and Blake was trying to from her words.
“I wanted to apologize for last night. I should’ve talked to the team about the whole note thing before we delivered the profile,” Blake said with an apologetic tone.
“I understand.” Y/N really didn’t want to get into the fact that Blake made her feel inferior, so she opted to just let it go.
With a grateful smile, Blake gave a simple nod and opened the door for Y/N. She smiled and walked in to head back to the conference room.
----------
Y/N stood in front of a whiteboard. The two phases of the notes he left written out on it. Her eyes darted between the words and the pictures of the victims, not even knowing where to start to figure out where the words could take them.
“If they aren’t his words then who’s are they?” Derek asked as he walked away from the board to sit down. He was annoyed that they couldn’t figure out what they were.
“We need to find out who his neighbors were in prison,” Blake said as she thought of where they could start.
“He spent more time in solitary then he did in his own cell,” Rossi stated, not knowing if what Blake was asking for would help.
“It’s total darkness but not complete silence, the inmates can speak through the walls,” JJ said.
“Let’s see which fellow inmate did time in solitary when he was there.” Rossi pulled out his phone then walked out of the room to make the call to the prison.
“I can’t really imagine an inmate thrown in solitary would be telling campfire stories to other inmates in solitary.” Y/N spoke in a monotone voice, her eyes still trained on the board.
“Some inmates get put in there for their own protection,” Derek reminded her.
“That’s true, we should start with those prisoners,” Hotch said, agreeing with Derek’s statement.
“Hold on,” Blake said, bringing the attention to her. “See how he wrote ‘Waiting on the taste of honey’, it’s got Southern U.S. roots, but more specifically it’s Texas south. A sub-dialect of southern English found in the north-central part of the state.”
She looked back down at the notes then saw another thing. “Right here-- you wait for something that hasn’t shown up, you wait on something that’s nearby.”
“The taste of honey would be close,” Spencer said as he understood what Blake was saying.
“Yes, and the storyteller is probably from north of here.”
“Fewer were thrown in the hole than you think,” Rossi said when he stepped back into the room, then set his phone down on the table. “Go ahead, Garcia.”
“Our unsub was the MVP of solitary. He was in there more than any other prisoner,” Penelope said as she relayed what she told Rossi to the rest of the team.
“All right, we’re looking for somebody who didn’t belong in jail. His offense would be minimal, he might even be in there for his own protection.”Hotch gave some parameters.
“Uh-huh, I got a few,” Penelope responded when she got a hit.
“Can you read off the hometowns?” Blake asked.
 “Sure, Beaumont, Edinburgh, Sweetwater--”
“Sweetwater, who was that inmate?” Y/N asked as the name perked her ears. She turned away from the board and stood next to Blake.
“Danny Tucker looks like he was only in for two months,” Penelope answered.
“Well, that’s long enough to tell stories to John Myres,” Hotch said.
“Hey, his family owns property near where you are. It’s really secluded, too,” Penelope said as she found out that information.
“With local honey, by any chance?” Blake asked.
 “They are known for it.”
“That’s where he’s going,” Y/N said looking at Blake next to her who nodded in agreement.
“Garcia, is it private property?” Hotch asked.
“It was, but it’s been sold. They’re building a housing development.”
“So it’s not the hideaway he’s hoping for,” Y/N said, looking to Hotch.
“Where would he go?” Blake asked.
“He might blame Danny for lying to him. Garcia-”
“Danny’s house is down the road from the development, I’m sending his address to your phones now.” Penelope beat Hotch to the punch.
“Dave, You, Reid, and Y/N go to the site, the rest of us will go to the house,” Hotch said, sending everyone off.
------------
That evening, the team arrived back at Quantico. Sadly, John had ended up taking his own life, but Danny and his family were saved.
Rossi led the pack of Y/N, Spencer, JJ, and Blake through the office doors.
“Don’t tell me there's another one,” Rossi said as he was now face-to-face with Strauss who had been waiting for them.
“There’s always another one,” she replied.
“I told you we should’ve just gotten into our cars,” Rossi said as he regretted not doing so.
Y/N rested her head on Spencer’s arm. She really wanted to go home now, even after being stuck there for so long, she just wanted to go home and cuddle with Spencer.
“Where are we off to now?” JJ asked.
“Home,” Strauss responded. “You need to spend at least one night in your own beds.”
“Bless,” Y/N said, grabbing Spencer’s hand and leading him to the elevator.
“Don’t have to tell me twice,” Rossi said following close behind.
“Yeah, me too,” JJ said as she also followed.
When Y/N walked through her and Spencer’s apartment door, she let out a loud, exaggerated sigh of relief. She held both her arms out as she basked in the feeling of being home.
“I thought you said you were done with being stuck at home,” Spencer laughed as he set down his go-bag.
“I say some things that I don’t mean later.” Y/N set her go-bag down by the couch and walked into the bedroom, flopping onto the bed.
The nicely made bed, now looking a little disheveled from the impact, surrounded Y/N. The comfort it gave relieved her back pain from the lousy hotel bed she had slept in.
Spencer followed closely behind, and unlike her, carefully climbed next to her in the bed.
“You want to tell me about that meeting now?” Spencer asked, grabbing her hand and giving it a kiss.
“Ugh.” Y/N groaned as she scooted closer to Spencer. She kinda hoped he would forget about it, but that would literally be impossible for him. “She asked me if I wanted to move to the fugitive task force because Emily left.”
 “And what did you say?”
 “I said no, obviously.”
She had her head laying on his chest but then lifted it up to look at him. Her head rested in her hand that Spencer wasn’t holding, his thumb rubbing back and forth across her knuckles.
“She should know I wouldn’t want to move, I told her when I joined the BAU it was my dream,” Y/N said with her voice rising with irritation. “And it was super annoying, she acted like she was surprised that would be my answer. I don’t want to end up like how JJ did where she had to move to state by force. That was stupid. I just, she thinks she can have everything she wants-”
 Spencer’s laughter cut her off.
“Why are you laughing?” She asked with furrowed brows.
“You’re overreacting, if you said no then nothing will happen, JJ’s case was special,” he told her with a reassuring look. “And also you’re just cute when you’re irritated,” he shrugged.
Her eyebrows raised in question. “Oh yeah?”
She let go of his hand and quickly reached for a pillow behind her head. She sat up on her knees and smacked him with the pillow.
“Am I cute now?” She giggled and waited for his reaction. He wrapped his arms around her waist and tackled her down to have him laying on top of her. That was enough of a distraction for him to grab his own pillow and smack her with it.
 “Very.”
She sat up again and the two had a flat out pillow war. Not a fight, a war.
Eventually, Y/N ended up on top of Spencer, straddling his torso. Her hands grabbed his sides as she tickled him relentlessly.
“Okay, okay, I surrender!” He panted with laughter.
She stopped her assault and moved to lay on him.
“Yay,” she pecked his lips and moved off of him to cuddle into his side.

You and me, Part II
https://archiveofourown.org/works/30337365/chapters/74835990
Shit shit shit! Alex couldn’t find it anywhere. He had made sure that he put the box in the pocket of his special Gucci jacket, but now it wasn’t there.
Alex had bought the ring about a month ago, days after their cancelled proposal plan at La Mar. Last week, he’d been concerned that the plain black box the ring came in was too boring. So naturally, he bought two new ring boxes, impulsively browsing etsy at 3am.
First, he ordered a neon box covered in rhinestones that spelled out the word ‘love.’ It had seemed funny when he pressed ‘place your order,’ but not so much in retrospect. After another half hour of etsy-scrolling, he picked out a carved wooden box that he’d personalized with their initials engraved along with the word ‘forever.’ Kind of cheesy, but Alex was down with that.
When he searched in his half packed suitcase, he found the engraved wooden box tucked between his socks. It was empty.
Perhaps in his struggle with indecision he had accidentally left the ring in its original black box? That must be it. However, that was a disastrous conclusion, because he had thrown the plain box away, along with the rhinestone one. Shit shit shit. He had to find it before their flight to London in the morning. Had they taken out the trash already?
That’s how Henry caught him: digging through the garbage on their kitchen floor, hair a mess, and face flushed red.
“Er, am I living with the grouch?” Henry asked. Alex spared half a thought to be surprised that Henry watched Sesame Street as a kid.
“No!” Alex groaned. “Henry, just don’t ask me what I’m doing.”
“But you’ve got old coffee grounds on your pants and there’s dirty paper towels on the floor.”
“Stop, I can’t explain.”
“This is rather unhygienic, don’t you think?” Henry’s nose scrunched up, undoubtedly due to the old cheese wrappers and broccoli stems. “What are you looking for anyways?”
“Don’t ask.”
“This is unusual behavior, even for you,” Henry said. “ I’m concerned.”
There was no way in hell Henry would leave him in such a state. Besides, he was getting to the bottom of the trash can, no black box in sight. He needed help. It was quite the predicament, but the honest truth was that Alex was very challenged at finding things. When he was stressed like this, he could look right at something and not see it. Nora told him once that there was a 76% likelihood that he had undiagnosed ADHD.
“Fine,” he said, after deliberating. “Did you take out the trash between today and yesterday?”
“Does it look like I took out the trash?’ Henry gestured to the nearly full trash can that Alex was refilling. “Dear lord. Fine, don’t tell me. But did you look in the trash and recycling in the office?”
“Oh my god, Henry,” Alex said, bouncing up and pecking Henry on the cheek. “You’re a genius!”
“Hardly.” Henry rolled his eyes and directed Alex to the sink to wash his hands. “But come on, I’ll help you because you are absolutely tragic. Bagsy the recycling.”
Unsure if this was a grave mistake, he followed Henry into their office.
“You know you’ll have to tell me what we’re looking for,” said Henry as he pulled out the recycling and sat down. Alex followed suit, pulling out the trash can.
He thought fast and decided that a white lie was warranted. He certainly didn’t want to ask Henry to marry him while they were digging through garbage. “Okay, you can keep a secret, right? I got June some earrings for her birthday, and I think I accidentally threw them out.”
“June’s birthday isn’t for two months.”
“Well Henry,” Alex sassed, “some of us take good care of our big sisters.”
Henry responded with an eye roll. “Did you piss her off?”
“Sure, yeah, that!” Alex hastened to confirm. “Now get busy sweetcheeks, that recycling bin isn’t going to search itself. Little black jewelry box, and don’t you dare open it if you find it. Because, um, it’s a surprise and I’d hate to make you keep a secret.”
Henry grumbled but began to dig through dense flaps of cardboard and paper, destined to get a papercut. Alex was relieved to see that the office trash held less misplaced compost than the kitchen’s. Alex had no idea how long it took, but eventually Henry pulled out a small box, covered in rhinestones.
“Ugh, no that’s not it,” said Alex. “Keep looking.”
“My god, Alex, she’d think this box is hilarious. You should use it.”
“You think it’s funny?” Alex asked. “I thought maybe it was kinda dumb.”
“Totally, it’s perfect.” Henry tossed him the bedazzled box. “So, what did you do to piss off June so bad?”
“Ha!” His mind raced. “What didn’t I do?”
“Well, yes, I suppose you can be a bit of a menace sometimes.”
“Exactly.”
If Henry looked suspicious, Alex pretended not to notice. In contrast, he sincerely didn’t notice the jewelry box lying in a pile of candy wrappers in front of him. Henry had apparently been checking Alex’s pile from across the room, because he leaned over and picked it up, showing Alex.
“It was literally right in front of you.”
“I was distracted!”
“Of course you were.” Their fingers brushed as Henry handed him the box, and the chemistry was as powerful as it had been two years ago. They couldn’t help but kiss, briefly over the pile of old papers.
“By the way,” Henry said, looking Alex in the eyes, “whatever those earrings look like, I’m sure she’ll love them.”

I'll give you three characters: Santana Lopez, Kira Yukimura, and Justin Foley
Santana Lopez
How I feel about this character - I love her and her sass, her coming out story was one of the most beautiful story in the show.
All the people I ship romantically with this character - Brittany and Quinn (lol, the lesbian experiment was the best thing ever).
My non-romantic OTP for this character - Rachel, Quinn and Kurt.
My unpopular opinion about this character - Umm... She's a funny interesting character and brought so much humor to the show but sometimes it a bit went too far, and people even praised her for the thing she did wrong which was bothering me so much. Like the way she was so mean to Finn and said rude comments about his body - the part that he was insecure the most. Finn outing her was totally uncalled for, and people had been criticizing him forever because of that, but they never tried to understand what it felt like to be body-shamed, it could have left the damage and terrible consequences for others too (eating disorders, depressions and anxiety, etc). And at least Finn apologized for what he did and tried his best to make up for Santana, while she never said sorry for the ones she hurt. And I don't like she calling Sam a Trouty Mouth, it ain't funny to make fun of others' insecurities.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - That the thing between her and Quinn could have lasted more than just one night stand. Their chemistry was 🔥 and they cared so much about each other.
Kira Yukimura
How I feel about this character - She's cute. And I can be related to her so much with the whole being social awkward xD
All the people I ship romantically with this character - Scott and Malia (the dance scene is hot af)
My non-romantic OTP for this character - Malia, Liam and Allison (they fighting side by side was superior why the fan has to compare them over a ship?)
My unpopular opinion about this character - I don't know much about what people think of her so I will take a guess... that I think she and Allison have potentials of being actual good friends. Her relationship between her and Scott was actually endearing, refreshing and it felt so nature for them to be together. I'd love to see more of the development between her and the other pack members apart from Scott and Malia.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - that she could have stayed with the pack at Beacon Hills and been a part of it in the ending scene (or at least the writers should have made her a comeback in ss6).
Justin Foley
How I feel about this character - A CINAMON ROLL. DESERVES BETTER. The best character development and redeeming arc in the show. My favourite character beside Alex, Clay and Tyler.
All the people I ship romantically with this character - Jessica.
My non-romantic OTP for this character - Clay, Alex, Tony and Zach.
My unpopular opinion about this character - A lot of people was pissed off with how he kept coming back to drugs and then his HIV/AIDS plot but I think it's actually realistic. It is never easy to get out no matter how much you've tried once you involve in taking drugs, it's literally an addiction and that's why there's hardly a drug addict can come clean despite how many counselors they attend or supports they are getting. The HIV/AIDS and sexual assaults, that's a part of the life to the kids who is living in the street and it can led to death when they are not got helps on time, and I think this is the message that the writers want to show the audience, but still, he didn't have to die.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon - He would have lived, got the helps, love and happy ending that he deserved (at least made it out alive till he got to finish his dream college and be happy for once in his life).
give me a character and I’ll break their ass down

What do you think are the strong and weak points in each season? Personally, I think of it like this: S1- Strong points are the first half, but the pacing kind of slows down after Patricia's kidnap and rescue until the last couple of episodes. S2 - the pacing's overall a bit slow, but the writing is solid enough that it doesn't matter. S3 - I really like this season and I think it's too slow, so plots take forever to start, but it's strong points are the premiere and the last five episodes.
Season 1: I feel like when I think of HOA, I think of season 1. It’s what got me hooked, so overall I think it’s really strong both in introducing characters and building a solid mystery arc that always kept me wanting more. I feel like the weak moments are the moments that remind me that this was a Nickelodeon show (the Mara/Mick game show scene, Alfie and Jerome dancing in the ballet costumes, etc.) Obviously it’s a kid’s show so those moments were meant to lighten a pretty dark plot, but they always take me out of the story.
Season 2: This has my favorite mystery plot. The tunnels and the tasks were so fun to watch and I love how they raised the stakes after season 1. I also thought Jerome’s side plot with his dad was really well done. For weaknesses, I think the Fabian/Nina/Joy love triangle went a little too far. I wish Fabina had stayed together longer, or that Fabian actually gave Joy a chance. Joy’s pining and Nina’s sass get annoying after awhile.
Season 3: Season 3 there was a shift where it started feeling like a teen show instead of a kids show and I love that. The second half was incredible and I’m still obsessed with the sinners arc. I also adore Jeroy and love their arc. Its weak point is how choppy it feels, but now we know it’s because they shot block 2 and 3 of this season before block 1. (Alex mentioned this in our interview, I can’t remember if it’s while we were recording or not.)
Curious what other people think too!

Eternal Flame- Kol Mikaelson 3/?
Chapter 1- You're the Hybrid?
Summary: Singing. Thats all what Alexandra Gilbert has cared about since she was young and all she would care about until she met him.
With Alexandra fighting vampires, werewolves an all between she may do a thing she vowed never to do, fall in love.
And to think it all started with a walk in the woods...
The room was pitch black I could barely see what's in front of me my fingers getting clipped and cut on the item in my hands. Finally, it was fixed but then the worst thing happened. The door opened.
The room was filled with light from the lights on the ceiling of the room and all of the hard work we created was useless now with all the neatly placed mouse traps springing open making me question the reason of everything. I looked up and saw an alarmed looking Matt Donovan making me feel even more depressed, wondering what I ever did to deserve this.
"Oh come on! Seriously?!? Do you know how long this took for us to set all this up?!?" Caroline yelled at the blonde footballer essentially expressing my thoughts out loud.
"Forgot about senior prank night?" Tyler Lockwood asked his best friend.
"Clearly." he replied seeming confused by the whole ordeal that has been tradition since well ever.
"How could you forget We've only been waiting for this since freshman year!" Caroline once again yelled and not gonna lie I agree with her until last year all of us had been dying for us to prank the teachers following the footsteps of those before us trying to outdo them.
"Yeah, Matt if I'm doing this, you're doing this" Elena chipped in
"Doing what? Having fun what a travesty" I sassed rolling my eyes at my sister "Lord give me strength." I whispered so no one but Caroline would hear me throwing me a glare where I just shrugged innocently. I mean it's not my fault that Elena became boring when dumb and dumber came along.
"I'm surprised any of you are doing this" Matt said, what are we supposed to do just stand around and worry about what might happen? Feel guilty about the deaths we've caused? If we do that, we'll miss college.
"Caroline's making us." Bonnie piped up
"Not making me. To be perfectly honest I'm enjoying myself" I shrug attempting to fix a mouse trap not making eye contact with anyone but still managing to make Caroline to smile at me.
"We're about to be seniors. These are memories that will stay with us forever, and if we don't..." she trailed off still trying to be positive compared to the rest of us.
"And if we don't create memories now, then what's the point of it all?" My sister finished for her best friend making Caroline deflate at the tone of her voice making me feel like snapping at her again but for sake of Caroline I decided to focus on her more than my annoyance or Elena.
"Go ahead make fun, I don't care" She replied, obviously lying to us, hurt how the majority of her friends are making fun of an idea to get all of our mind of the supernatural by doing normal things a teen would enjoy. I wasn't the only one seeing how upset Caroline was with her boyfriend saying.
"You're all lame. And I've got ten more classes to prank." I decided to pitch in after he announced his leave.
"Yeah, I'm meeting my boys in the chem lab, we're 'doing something awesome to Jones' according to Jamie anyway" a small smirk on my face "See you losers later" winking at Caroline.
When out of the class I headed along the hall to get to the class seeing Tyler giving some students instructions "Seems like Caroline's rubbing off on you Ty" a small smile on my face, instead of verbally responding he just rolled his eyes playfully continuing to give instructions.
I kept on wondering down the dark and quiet hallway feeling creeped out. All of a sudden I heard a slamming of a door making me feel more aware of my surroundings ready to run in case of any well unusual people out there
"Who's there?" I shouted out on instinct before realising what a stupid move that was. Well done Alex if they didn't know you were here they do now my subconscious reminded me, I slowly walked towards the noise until I heard from behind me.
"Boo!" I turned around and punched whoever it was on instinct "Fucking hell Andie!" the mysterious 'creature' yelled making me realise it was just Mark then hearing laughter behind him making me see he isn't alone but thing one and two were here as well.
"Jesus Andie remind me never to get in a fight with you" Sam managed out before James saying "Yeah next boxing match I'm putting my money on you"
I give them an unimpressed look "oh you mean all 10 cent you know seeing as though the last time you bet you lost 100 dollars" casting up how he bet on the Dolphins winning the super bowl losing 100 dollars in the process. "And you. carry on way you're acting and we'll be getting in a fight quite soon" I told James.
"Not a word." was all I said to Mark knowing a sarcastic comment was coming causing him roll his eyes. "Right gents what class are we supposed to be pranking?" before following a still grinning James to the chemistry lab belonging to Mr Jones' the hatred between him and Jamie running deep with the detentions and destruction in the past 3 years.
"Of course it would be Jones. Your obsession with each other is genuinely unhealthy." Sam remarked with an eye roll.
"Gotta agree with Sammy on that Jame" Mark seconded with me making a noise of agreement while looking through the bag he brought with him finding confetti, superglue, a large cut out of about 8 feet cut out of the periodic table and purple paint?
"Yeah well, I could say same for you and Kayleigh Jackson." referring to the rivalry between Kayleigh a kind blonde braniac who was on the cheer squad and honestly the only girl in this school I would trust with my life. Her and Sam had a rivalry which stemmed from how Kayleigh fought over a red crayon with him in kindergarten ever since they fight over the most stupid things, from what colour nitrogen mixed with sulphuric acid to whose cake was better in home economics, honestly, it's just became a way of life.
"Right before we start fighting about whose rivalry is worse let's get on with the prank?" I suggested with the back up from my blue-eyed best friend.
"So, you want to superglue the periodic table coloured in purple his least favourite colour" I started before Sam butted in
"How do you know his least favourite colour exactly?"
"I have my ways you have yours" Jesus this is hard work but I tried to continue "Then rig up this contraption when he opens his door tomorrow, he'll have confetti fallen on him?"
"and superglue" he added
I stared at him for a few seconds before saying "Sounds good. I'll get started on the confetti and super glue"
We all joked and tried our best to prank Mr Jones to the best of our ability and not just because of the hated between a certain drummer and the teacher himself. After we did that, we walked to the next class Mr Curtis our favourite music teacher but before we could begin, we were interrupted by Harry from my political studies class coming in and telling all of us
"Hate to break it guys but we've been busted, teacher saw us pranking the gym hall." he told us with a sympathetic smile. once he told us this, we all groaned and complained
"That's shit"
"You're joking!"
"No. That aint right."
"Jesus Christ. Why is god against me?"
"Don't shoot the messenger guys." Harry replied with his hand up in surrender walking out of the class.
Mark sighed "Well this is shit."
"I know fucking hate this" James agreed shaking his head. I swear I saw a tear in his brown eye.
"What can we do gents? We're caught. Just think of Mr Jones face tomorrow that's all you have to think about to get through the day" I told them trying to show them a silver lining to this horrible end of a great night.
"Yeah, doesn't make it any better." The drummer moaned "Do any of you need a ride?"
"Yeah, that'd be great"
"Yes, please my man" the two other males answered the brunette.
"Can't sorry boys, have to go home with my sister. Sorry" I declined
"Good luck, Alex" Mark said somewhat making it sound sarcastic making me throw a pencil at him as he raced out the classroom.
"See ya tomorrow my girl"
"Adios gorgeous" the other two more sensible- at that moment- boys said. I waved them good bye before we walked out of the class going in opposite directions with them heading out to the parking lot and me like an idiot going through all the school looking for my sister. Texting her asking where she was.
"She better not have left me" I muttered before opening the doors to enter the Gym hall.
"Alex! get out of here!" was all I heard looking up from my phone seeing an unusual scene in front of me to say the least. An empty hall with the exception of my sister, chad from Miss Golds class and Dana the girl who co-organised the whole prank night with Caroline and a man in his 20's? next to Elena seeming to be talking to her.
For once it looked like my sister had the right so I turned and bolted towards the doors only to be stopped by the same man that was conversing with the doppelganger.
""Now, now love. Who may you be?" He said in a nice posh British accent looking into my eyes therefore me being able to understand I'm being compelled.
"Someone on vervain." I snarked back "Try an eat me and it'll be like drinking acid, or so I've been told." I told him acting innocent at the old. he rolls his eyes as though expecting the sarcasm. Stefan must have told him everything about the entirety of the school.
This dick of a vampire gripped my am tightly and threw me onto the ground.
"Jesus be a bit gentler. Love." adding a bit more English mannerisms sarcastically where he just smirked back. Asshole.
"Alex! Are you okay?" My sister asks worried for my safety. I looked around my surroundings once more seeing Dana keeping her leg up wobbling every now and kind of like she's being controlled.
"Been better, been worse." I replied to my sister getting up "What's wrong with Dana and Chad?" I asked the brunette doppelganger; she opened her mouth but before she could reply the mysterious and freak of a vampire answered for her.
"Well love I compelled them. You seem to know what that means?" I glared at him thinking of any wooded objects that would kill the vampire in front of me there's a pencil you stole from Sam in your back pocket use that but before I could I heard my sister ask the vampire.
"Where's Stefan? What did you do to him?"
"Stefan's on a bit of a time out" What? Stefans with that psycho hybrid? Oh my days... before anything else was said I gave out a little laugh
"You're the hybrid? the scary murderous sociopath everyone is talking about? you look like an old man with dire need of a new war-" but before I could finish, he ran towards me pushing me against the back wall threatening to kill me in a chokehold.
"That may be so but I can break your neck with a single flick." he said with a murderous tone and eyes that look like he wanted to kill me but couldn't?
"Duly noted." I managed to get out before hearing him laugh in my face letting me go and fall to the floor with a crash.
"Now what is your name sweetheart?" but before I could reply Bonnie and Matt open the doors and enter the huge hall
"Bonnie, get out of here!" My sister yelled
"Go, Bon, Leave!" I shouted along with her well attempted to shout. But in a blink of an eye the hybrid was in front of the Bennett witch, now this is a fight I would like to see. On Bonnies side of course.
"Ah I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started."
