We are SOOOO in an Avengers Tower Renaissance right now and I'm living for it. So here are some of my thoughts and musings about what our favorite band of misfits are up to as the New Avengerz*

• Bob isn't comfortable branching out and doing a lot of the more intense things, but he loves being domestic around the watchtower for the team. He always insists that he can help clean the place or do dishes and laundry for everyone. At first you worried he would get tired of the menial tasks but he liked having something he could do for the team. He does love it when you help him out, and he (not so secretly) loves that you play music and dance or sing along while you wash dishes and he dries them

• Bob is also willing to try whatever anyone cooks - even Alexei. He'd just shrug and say he'd had worse in his body before and take a bite bigger than was necessary. The rest of the team watches in horror as he chews, manages to swallow, and gives a "its.... ah.. not bad" in his awkwardly charming way.

• Alexei's friendly slap on his back is enough to almost knock Bob over

• The only time Bob didn't try something of Alexei's is when he made bootleg vodka and Yelena slapped it out of his hand before he could take a swig

• Yelena and Ava have sleepovers. You join them, of course. They didn't get them as children, so they are making up for lost time now. Yelena insists on doing makeup every. Single. Time.

• Walker would surprisingly be a good gym buddy. At first you thought he'd be too snarky with you, but you found a good rhythm. Sometimes he gives football captain vibes tho and you definitely tease him about it

• You teach bucky to knit. He does it begrudgingly but is a quick study. When walker and yelena called him old man or grandpa, or they give him smirks he just grumbles "It's relaxing."

• Alexei tries to plan parties or fun nights or whatever you want to call them. He tries to be unpredictable but let's be honest - every single one starts with a drinking game, peaks with very loud (off key) singing, and ends with a group hug around him after he starts dramatically crying to the team about how much he loves everyone and how they are his family and he loves the work they do

• Bob loves to sit and chat. It begins as small talk about your days, then next thing you know it's 1 am and you're sitting on the floor facing each other having heart to hearts about anything and everything. He also likes it when you all (really just you and Yelena) run your fingers thru his hair as you talk. Once or twice he's fallen asleep next to you as he listen to you ramble on

• He snores lightly. Sometimes he mumbles. It's adorable

• Yelena begins to dance again, this time for pleasure. She hated it in the red room but found a newfound freedom in it now that she's an avenger. It makes her feel closer to Natasha too

• Walker loves reality TV but pretends he loathes it. If you have it on TV and he walks in he will constantly criticize and talk thru the entire episode. But he has a bad habit of leaving his phone unlocked at the gym and you've seen several searches for the latest gossip in his Google history

• You and Bob help Ava with time trials using her powers. So far she's up to 2 and a half minutes now when invisible

• At first Valentina used to try and make passive aggressive comments towards Bob not using his abilities, but the team very quickly shut that down. She never pushed Bob again

• I like to think that Bucky's cat Alpine was actually found by Yelena in a dumpster outside. She has the habit of trying to save the "little guy" and all the animals. Bucky didn't want to deal with this new kitten but she immediately bonded with him. He succumbed within seconds

• Now Bucky's lock screen is Alpine sleeping

• The team does group therapy once a month at minimum

• You're pretty sure bucky and walker have unspoken staring contests. Ava always declares the winner

• Bob cries at all the movies, but so do you and Alexei

• Valentina tells them they swear too much for being the new avengers so they start a tally. Each time one of them swears they have to put a tick mark down. At the end of the week the person with the most has to cook or buy dinner for the team. Somehow it ends up being you at least 50% of the time

• It's never been Bob

Let's talk about the Art Deco in Transformers One.

Me, a 23-year-old Visual Arts student going into my 7th semester, thought it'd be cool to share this artistic and cultural curiosity present in the movie.

(Some music to vibe the content hehehe)

According to the movie director, Josh Cooley (click here to watch), Iacon city was built inspired by Art Deco and it is like a robot style!

But first of all: What is Art Deco?

The term “Art Deco” comes from the French term “Arts Décoratifs” which means Decorative Arts.

It was a popular design movement that emerged in the 1920s and flourished until the 1930s, in France. It influenced various art forms, including architecture, interior design, fashion, painting, sculpture, and graphic arts.

The starting point was the “International Exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Arts”, which took place in Paris in 1925. Initially, Art Deco was an art form aimed at the post-war bourgeoisie, using expensive materials.

However, with the Art Deco Exhibition held in New York in 1934, this style became popular throughout the world.

What are its characteristics?

Art Deco heavily utilized geometric shapes like chevrons, zigzags, and stylized sunbursts. These shapes were often used to create intricate patterns and designs. It also embraced luxurious materials such as chrome, stainless steel, and exotic woods. These materials were used to create a sense of opulence and sophistication.

Bold Colors: It featured bold and vibrant colors, often used in contrasting combinations. Gold, silver, and black were also popular choices.

Streamlined Forms: often featured streamlined forms, inspired by the machine age and the concept of speed and efficiency.

Exotic Influences: Art Deco drew inspiration from various cultures, including ancient Egypt, Aztec, and Mayan civilizations. These influences can be seen in the use of stylized motifs and patterns.

But how Art Deco is represented in the movie?

It was "estrategically-acidentally" chosen for both architecture and history. As mentioned above, the gold, gray and black are the main colours for this kind of art. They convey richness, power, cleanliness (the primes are seen by cybertronians this way just as Egyptian royalty was seen by their subjects, for example).

This entrance hall in one of the New York City skyscrapers (for example) has the same interior design as the main room in the Iacon Golden Tower. The luxury liners showcase elegance, richness and sophistication of Art Deco.

A lot of his top music is reflective of what he’s going through. For the most part he’s into indie rock and alt rock, but if there’s a song that he can even sort of relate to then he’s all over it. He thinks he’s brooding, he’s edgy, he’s angsty. We all know he made 2014 tumblr his BITCH. And he has NOOO IDEA how ABBA ended up in his top 5. He’ll say it was Ominis. He’ll say he was hacked. He likes a genre to his music that gives off a certain “guys i SWEAR im fine haha..” vibe to the function. he’s nostalgic, he’s yearnful, he’s emotionally very connected to music and is one of those people that will cry when a song is really good (me too) (he’ll swallow the lump down, just know he’s feelin it). aside from his top artists he also listens to a bunch of instrumentals when he’s studying. we all know he plays the piano. yes Merry Christmas, Please Don’t Call by Bleachers is secretly about Sebastian (tea). yes She’s Always a Woman by Billy Joel is secretly ab my MC (TEAA!). yes ABBA is there on purpose! this man knows every lyric to Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

Ella really just wants to live in a cottage and be a fairy but she’s also just a girl. she has a song associated to every person she’s ever had a crush on and any person that’s ever done her wrong. she has a playlist for that one guy. she’s posting a screenshot of the song she’s listening to on her story for one person to watch. when she’s feeling petty she sends Sebastian songs DIRECTLY cause she’s mad at him. 4/5 of these songs are about him i fear. she loves music because she never has to get over anything. grudges are timeless. she’s crazy and this is a self insert.

Natsai’s minutes listened is the lowest because she’s too busy dismantling the patriarchy and abolishing the system to listen most of the time. She grew up in the Katniss Everdeen generation. There’s not one man vocalist on her playlist because doesn’t really care what they have to say. She’s not super picky about the genre but listening to guitar riffs makes her feel like she’s ascending and so she loves that shit. She begged her mom to let her go to a Paramore concert when she was twelve and she has band posters covering her walls from corner to corner. She knows musical theory because duh. I love her.

personally i HC as the coolest girl alive. she’s friends with literally everyone. if she smiles at you you think the world is spinning solely for her. she’s just effortlessly that girl. and even tho she seems sweet and a little quiet let it be known she is absolutely BLASTING hypercore or glitchpop or some stuff like that in her headphones. she just likes the way music sounds, she doesn’t GAF what they’re saying. she just wants her brain to go bzzzzzzz. my girl!!! Imelda is the manifesting queen. she is a confident queen. she’s cool as hell. she seems mean at first glance but that’s only because she is locked TF in. between her million high level classes, every sport she’s plays, and her social life— she has to be focused. she needs music that will put her in the headspace. her top 5 songs are naturally on her ‘pregame’ playlist that she plays before every game (with the exception of #4. she’s pregaming therapy with that one). shes gonna graduate top of her class and go pro at some sport and no one is gonna be surprised. you go girlfriend. my girlfriend.

honorable mention: Leander is THE rock man, specifically acid/psychedelic rock. He’s shaking his head and playing air guitar. he’s asking his parents to get him a drum set for Christmas still. He thinks he would’ve been asked to join The Beatles if they were still a band. big big fan.

Heya, pals!! :D Since Super Mario has now been demoted to a minor hyperfixation in replacement of Ace Attorney, I'm gonna post some Luigi headcanons that have been GNAWING on my mind for the past 3 years I've had this hyperfixation. Without further ado, LETSA GO!!! :3 (btw heres credits to the dividers i used here.)

Appearance ⭐:

I don't usually give appearance headcanons, but as you have seen in a few posts of mine, I gave him freckles! Not sure why tho, I just feel like it would suit Luigi.

I got inspired by a crap ton of long-haired Luigi (and by proxy, Mr. L) headcanons and fanart so that's one more to add to my list of headcanons.

As for markings, I headcanon him to have a lot of scars. Specifically on his arms, ranging from his fingertips to his elbows from using his thunderhand ability, being REALLY clumsy, and other stuff I won't mention. There are a few more scars on his legs and torso from either work-related accidents, or accidentally getting scratched up in adventures with Mario. (also top surgery scars but i'll explain that later shush)

Hobbies 🖌️:

A portion of Luigi's hobbies came from him trying to be just like brother, Mario, but Luigi is his own person too, so he has many hobbies to call his own. Just like many other fellas in the Mario community, the Luigi in my AU LOVES engineering (specifically mechanical engineering). Besides that, I think he would love baking with Princess Peach!

I feel like he's the better cook between him and his brother, so in their spare time, he teaches Mario how to cook! Yeah, sometimes the food comes out a tiinnnnyy bit burnt, but hey! At least Mario tried his best! Of course, Luigi knows that, so he gives a tiny pat on Mario's back for not completely burning the food into a crisp.

His other favorite thing to do with Mario is to play videogames!

I often find Luigi to be more ambiverted, (or maybe extroverted but very socially awkward??? idk just me projecting tho lolz qwq) however HEAVILY leaning on to the introverted side.

From what I've seen he is a HUGE sweetie pie, even if he canonically gets shitted on by like, 80% of the Mario NPCs.

So yeah, thats it for personality I guess... QwQ

Music 🎧:

I feel like since some of the fandom represents him as a hopeless romantic, he enjoys listening to love songs the most.

For some reason, I headcanon him listening to love songs that blink-182 makes lol. (to be specific, this song. its a total banger pls listen to it!!)

Misc. 📁:

Personally, I HC him to be autistic and have GAD (or generalized anxiety disorder.) I got this headcanon from watching this video a long time ago, and it just clicked. Something about that man screamed "AUTISM!!!" to me. Idk why.

Now time for sexuality hcs!! For me, I headcanon him as demiromantic bisexual. The vibes just... feel right to me. I also headcanon him being a trans man!! Again, for the reason of the vibes feeling right.

how to romanticize your life - a series - post 2 - romanticizing school

soo many people see school as something to avoid, as a chore. but we as individuals have the power to change the way we view school. it's an opportunity for growth, discovery, and personal development. so without further ado: here are a couple tips to help you romanticize school!!

have a positive mindset. in order to study effectively, you need to put aside the negative connotations you have with school and studying and replace them with positive connotations. write out a cons list and then counteract each negative with a positive. for example: con - school is very time consuming | pro - it teaches you time management skills.

create a peaceful and cozy school morning routine. drink some water, watch something funny, use the bathroom, brush your teeth, do your makeup, listen to some nice music, pick out a cute outfit, do your hair, have some matcha.

i also like to say affirmations in the mornings like "i love school" or "i'm amazing at school" to help get me into that positive mindset i was talking about earlier.

make a to-do list. part of romanticizing is not stressing. if you prepare for your day in advance, you can worry less and enjoy more.

really explore your school campus. find all the little nooks and crannys, and don't miss out on anything your school has to offer. for example, i found a little covered picnic table over by the greenhouses at my school that i love to sit at. cute places to study and hang out make school so much more enjoyable.

appreciate being a student. there is so much community and everyone is working toward to common goal to really figure out who they want to be and what they're going to do. it sounds dramatic, but it's true. so i advise you to embrace student life. attend events, plays, games, join clubs, and study with your friends. so go to that football game, participate in spirit days, and enjoy being a student to its fullest potential!

materials are also a huge part of school. you don't have to spend big bucks, but these are some basic things that have helped me:

-cute planners/notebooks, sticky notes -> for goals/organization, writing down something quick, although take physical notes as well!

-books -> gives you something to do, i like romance and educational books

-ipad -> helps with notes/studying, customize it to make it cute, add widgets, and keep in mind that it's all about the vibes

dress to impress. wear cute outfits. treat school as a fashion show. i know dressing up and feeling confident has really enhanced my school experience. some of my favorite things to wear are preppy cardigans, nice jeans, skirts, high knee boots, long sleeve turtlenecks, and just tons of cute tops. layering is very important to me as well. you can also add jewelry to help elevate your style a lil bit.

have a space that you dedicate to only studying. i have a desk in my room that i use, and it has improved my study habits, my grades, and my discipline. it makes studying/schoolwork so much more enjoyable. it always good to keep in mind that your environment impacts tons of other aspects of your life too. make your space your own and personalize it. some potential spots could also be coffee shops or the library, whatever works for you.

make a pinterest board to motivate yourself. this could include study-with-me's, study tips, just general inspiration, or things to do with your main area of study or your major if you're a uni student. this helps you think about "huh, that could be me".

2. Iron & Wine - Beast Epic

This was harddddd because I also think that Our Endless Numbered Days should be here but anyway! Iron & Wine is the definition of road trip music if you're in the countryside, especially if you’re going through places full of trees all around. I’m thinking especifically of this area close to my city where the trees on both sides create an arch over the road where you can barely see the sky, it’s amazing

3. The Beatles - Revolver

This is mostly nostalgia. I barely listen to them these days but this is my fave Beatles album because for me it was always about the fun/cheesy songs with them and not the so-called “masterpieces” lol (though nowadays I know Run For Your Life, for example, is the type of lyrics I’d hate) and like, my relationship with my dad is not what it used to be but I still have the memories of us looking up Beatles lyrics on my computer when I was a teen so we’d both sing along to them. my dad is the one that made me start studying English when I was 14 (I hated it before that) and a lot of what I learned was through music and lyrics back then

4. Skank - Ao Vivo em Ouro Preto    

This is a Brazilian band that has some of the most beautiful and fun songs in our popular culture imo, so I’d get to blast the most romantic tracks like Balada do Amor Inabalável (roughly translates as “Ballad of the steadfast love” but of course it loses its beauty like that lol) and have fun with the lyrics of Saideira (Last Round... of drinks... where the chorus is basically all the ways you can call a waiter at a bar) and Garota Nacional (National Girl lol)

5. Sabrina Carpenter - Short n’ Sweet

OH I LEAVE QUITE AN IMPRESSIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN 

the perfect sing-along album too and I looooveeee her sense of humor!!!

6. Arctic Monkeys - AM

I mean. I MEAN. I don’t even care about cars but like? This is IT, y’know, lmao. Just think of the R U Mine music video. SO. MUCH. FUN. to sing along to this in a car. and I did that with my dad and sis last time we were on the road together, cause luckily for me at least some of what my 15yo sis listens to aligns with my taste lmao. I already talked about this album/era in another music post a few weeks ago but also let me just say I include Stop The World I Wanna Get Off With You because what do you mean that didn’t make it into the album

7. Dir en grey - THE MARROW OF A BONE

again, not my fave by my fave band (that’d be DSS) but I absolutely LOVE this album. Great for when you’re angry or sad or just wanna vibe with the great fucking bass riffs like Toshiya you are a GENIUS (they all are) and this is from the era where there were SO MANY memes and parodies also this album is just great live. GRIEF is only second to umbrella as my fave live song by them

So I'm listening to the amazing playlist you shared for To Be Known (which is so so good and I am gnawing at the bars of my enclosure for the next chapter), and find myself wondering how much is Viktor vibes and how much is Reader vibes, and both. And this made me wonder, in general what artists do you envision Modern AU Vik to listen to, in particular when *not* studying?

Hi Anon! Thank you so much, I know that playlists are sometimes intrusive because we all have our music preference, so it makes me very happy that this one landed for someone ❤️ I actually don't associate any of the songs with vibes of either, it's just the music that plays in the background of my tv show that they play main parts in :v As for Viktor's taste, this is gonna be long, so I'm putting it under the cut:

Okay, so, I actually find it very very hard to give Viktor music taste, he doesn't seem like a music guy to me that much! But let's play around with this idea RPG style, dropping him in Modern AU and saying he is in his 30s, which would make him a millennial. Another factor: central/eastern European youth, where the lines between millennials/gen X are blurred. We also know that he is very intelligent, a nerd, but possibly not a complete snob.

So, I think Viktor would be into a mix of old music/music that came out when he was in his teens/20s and then abandoned getting to know what's new sometime around 27-28. This leaves me with:

Classics:

Pink Floyd, but he sees it as two bands: Syd Barrett era and post-Syd Barret era. Donovan, totally. Simon & Garfunkel, totally. He's the man that would appreciate Pet Sounds by Beach Boys for what it is, one of the saddest albums of all time. T-Rex, because they are just so fucking cool. Possibly The Stooges, David Bowie's Berlin Trilogy and later Blackstar. I can see him also being into the poetry of The Doors, Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan (It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) someone ban me from listening to this song). I'm thinking also maybe some 4AD vibes, like Dead Can Dance. For some reason, I also think Viktor would be into blues.

Later:

Definitely some grunge era here, so obviously Nirvana. I think he would also love lesser known Britpop bands like Longpigs or The Beta Band. He would hate Suede and Oasis.

From songwriters he would probably appreciate Nick Drake, Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley, and possibly Tim Buckley.

Ninja Tune was a huge thing once, and here: Bonobo, Fink, The Herbaliser, DJ Shadow, The Cinematic Orchestra.

And from the crazy zones, Iannis Xenakis, Alvin Lucier, maybe Einstürzende Neubauten.

With classical music, I think he would appreciate Lutosławski, Ligeti and Sorabji, as they tether the lines of impossible.

I wish I knew this man. If someone ever asks me which dead person I would like to have dinner with, it would be him. Everyday I lie to myself that I understand him.

I actually find it very hard to define music tastes, because mine is nonexistent. I listen to everything, and I mean it, you can catch me rapping to MF Doom (my bf hates it lol), singing Hamilton (he hates that one too), whining with Thom Yorke. Currently I'm blasting Bauhaus because gothic AU, a little bit on the nose, but who cares. What matters to me is the 'how it's made' aspect. What is Aesthetics? A Study of the New Art Movement that Art History is Looking Over

It started on tumblr [citation needed], we've all seen the "a e s t h e t i c" tags and all the blogs dedicated to the many many different types of aesthetics. I have spent the better part of 4 years collecting, studying, and categorizing theses aesthetics. I do have a formal education in art and architecture so I sort of know what I'm talking about. I'd like to share with you what I've found. I've also made a chart (link) of my findings. This chart is very rough and not meant to be taken as fact. It is how I've categorized almost 700 different aesthetics but that is not even close to how many there are. I do plan on expanding it more. If I get some attention, maybe I'll make more posts that dive deeper into defining this new art movement.

In short, today's use of the word "Aesthetic" is a noun that refers to a title/word given to a specific atmosphere, emotion, feeling, or vibe that a collection of images evokes when viewed together. A comparable approximation would be a "mood board".

Anything can belong to a particular Aesthetic; an art piece, a song, an entire show, an outfit, etc. In my opinion however, its very rare that a singular work can express an entire aesthetic. As stated, an aesthetic is a very specific emotion. Thus, in most cases, a singular work (work here referring to any form of expression) is likely to be interpreted in a multitude of different ways. The only exception to this is if a particular aesthetic is based on a very specific motif found in a particular work that is unique to only that work and from there new pieces can be made that also carry that motif or relate to the original work that the aesthetic was built upon. This will be discussed later. Not every genre of art can express an aesthetic, for example, some aesthetics may not translate very well to fashion, imagery, music, etc. That is to say that it may not be possible to express the emotion evoked by the aesthetic through other mediums other than the original medium the aesthetic was created in.

In summary, an aesthetic is a collection of images that evokes a specific emotion. Most often, this emotion is evoked through the combination of particular motifs found in each work that contribute to an overall "vibe" or atmosphere. These motifs can then be used to create new original works that belong to this aesthetic.

There are a multitude of categories of Aesthetics that I have identified and some of them may seemingly contradict this definition. We will discuss these later. There is also much overlap between specific aesthetics, it is extremely common to find that an art piece may belong to multiple different aesthetics.

This is a very brief definition of the movement. But to fully grasp the depths of this new art movement, we will need to discuss a lot of art history and definitions.

Audiodrama Sunday 10/13/2024

Happy Audiodrama Sunday! Last week I didn't get a chance to make one of these, so strap in, I've got a lot of shows to talk about this week. I may write this one more rushed than previous ones for that reason.

@midnightburgr - New Welcome to the Horizon. Verge’s secret finally comes out, I love how they set up verge having 4 arms in the last main feed episode. Bringing up the black exclusion law was so brutal, I’m from Oregon and somehow didn’t learn about that law until my senior year of high school, really felt like my education failed me there. Also the song was so good, audiodramas with original music is my favorite thing!

@brimstonevalleymall - It's back! I thought this show was dead! I decided to give it a relisten in prep for season 2, the standout scene was Trainee and Misroch’s heart to heart.

Dear Liisphyra - Season 4 finale. The ad read for an opposing radio station interrupted by a technical issue was so funny. I keep thinking I should submit a question to this show but I never get around to it.

Rude Tales of Magic - I finally started the Nethermurk campaign. this campaign is so quoteable. Both “if we die we die together” and “Hot dogs are made of boys” in specific silly voices are burned into my brain.

@breakerwhiskey - It's back! Much sooner than I expected. I can't wait to see what direction the story goes from here, an inconsistent upload schedule is really interesting given the framing device of the show.

Case Study IREC-A59 - We have communication! I love good “humans are space orcs” worldbuilding. 

Skyjacks: Courier's Call - I loved the overcomplicated discussion of code phrases. Erin breaking character and cracking up when Fenton figured out the curse was so funny. The worldbuilding that magic items come from someone trained in magic caring about an object for a long period of time is such an incredibly cool detail. I may steal that for a dnd game at some point.

@starfallpod - Season 2! Lots of new characters in this one. I like the orphan kids a lot. What is functionally a giant dragon mechsuit possibly coming to life is truly terrifying, though it seems likely that the kids stole it.

@lostterminalpod - Season 17! This show has such cool worldbuilding, it's a truly unique take on a post-apocalyptic world. My favorite part of post-apocalypses is always the theme of hope, which Lost Terminal nails.

@storiesfromylelmore - ItMe really knows exactly how to pull at my heart. Rion wanting to get rid of his werewolfness was heartbreaking, and Keryth sneaking out to make healing potions because she keeps injuring herself to give Rion luck was just as brutal.

Starwhal Odyssey - The quote “in the cutthroat world of interdimensional restaurateurs, theft is pretty common” really sums up this episode. I love all the tenants we're getting to meet, the tabaxi family based off the cast's cats is incredible.

@worldgonewrongpod - This episode got unexpectedly real, it really nailed the whole vibes of this show. Anyways, I'd want to meet the ghost of Alan Turing.

@kingmakerpod - Love to have the Kingmaker gang back for season 2.  A lot of pieces moved into place to set up this season, including what I'm guessing is World War 1! Getting more into the alt history and politics of the setting is very cool.

7 easiest thing for you to draw?

It's a very interesting question! Let's say, on the stage of the rendering, it's, how ironically it wouldn't sound, but backgrounds! I know that usually it's considered like the least thing you would name as "easiest", but somehow, it works for me...

9 whats something you always come back to when drawing?

Hm, very good question. I think, it's this simple thought that everything, in reality, doesn't have an end: drawing, no matter how good you are, is about constant studying, and this is also the beauty in it. I always try to keep it in mind, but when I start drawing, every single time I recall this idea, and, at some point, to be honest, it's also reassuring.

10 how do you deal with artblock?

You know, I must tell you that I have never had an art block. Demotivation and discouragement? Yes, and not because I can't draw what I imagined, but primarily because of the reach since I wish my arts would be seen more, but other than that - even if I had some small moments when I felt like something wasn't going the way I would like to - I felt upset and sometimes disappointed, but never to the point of artblock. So, in my case, the answer will be a bit different: when I have such moments, I just step away from it and let these feelings not interfere into my art process. Drawing or writing with such low emotions which whisper to you how "you're failing to match your imagination" (which, in fact, are nothing but lies) is a huge emotional turmoil and also, some kind of torture, so instead of forcing myself into it, I just let these emotions live and die as quickly as they appear. During this time while I'm away from drawing/writing, I try to distract myself with something usual like reading, for example. So, yes, that's it!

11 do you listen to anything while drawing?

Yes! I usually listen to lectures/discussions, this kind of content, or to the music - when it comes to it, I try to find the matching pieces of songs to the vibe of the drawing, so it also helps me to set the mood :3

For example, for this art, I was listening on repeat Eric Satie, and I hope it gave the mood to this art the one I hoped to achieve

12 describe your process while drawing

Thank you for this question! It all starts with the idea itself, usually it just pops up out of nowhere, or some official art happens, and the image of what to draw strikes me very clearly. Sometimes, I can have some ideas, and they float around, until the moment I realize how I want the art to look like. After that, I gather some pose references, and start sketching. How much the sketching stage takes, it depends on the art itself: sometimes, I can sketch it for 20 minutes, sometimes - for hours. When the sketch is ready, I do the flat colours: just basic shades to understand the palette, and after that - the general colorization of the art (the group with different layers such as Brightness/Contrast, Gradients, Solid Colours, Hue/Saturation etc), which changes through the process. And then, rendering! Now, I have the scheme: firstly, skin rendering + hair, in between - background, step by step; clothes; additional details; the general work with lightning; shades/volumes; final touches, and here we are!

13 talk about a wip you like!

Currently, I'm working on JeanPiku and AruAni double date, and while I think it's quite good piece, there are two WIPs I'll be working on after that, and I must tell you that this solo question made me *wheezing* because I'm both excited and a bit scared to work on them :D One of this WIPs is related to Ancient Greece mythology (sorry for not sharing details, since I want to keep it as a small surprise), and another one based on this official Annie art from brave order with pipa, and, off course, Armin too :3 I really hope I'll do justice to these ideas, and you'll like them!

16 how do you motivate yourself to draw?

AruAni (and JeanPiku) motivate me to draw! :D

But on more serious note (my first answer is still serious), it's as simple as it is - I can't simply not to draw. The drawing itself motivates me because it allows to tell the stories, to live through so many emotions and many scenarios. And, honestly, for me, it's more than enough.

29 do you use a lot of references while drawing?

I use reference for the poses - that's yes, my must have, since I try to make it quite "humanly fluid", and even if I study anatomy, I prefer to have references to always double check. As for composition and colour palette- no, it's always my free flight of imagination :D So, basically, I use references for characters and for some specific details, like furniture or flowers, for example.

<3 Dee is battling an eating disorder. We see him skip breakfast in one episode, and we also see him skip lunch to blackmail another kid at his school and pathetically attempt to “save” Heavy from gopher. His parents also threw a lunch bag at Heavy but it didn’t show them giving one to Dee??? Hmm that was weird of his parents. it’s suspicious that we really never see him actually eat

<3 Dee cuts… he always wears jeans and boots even when other characters are wearing shorts and he wears leather bracelets that he never takes off. Even in Heavy’s insta when they’re wearing “Halloween costumes” or got into Glam’s old rock clothes, Dee is wearing the same bracelets. And then when asked how he deals with everything? He hesitates for a second looks at his wrists, then simply states, “I have my methods.”

<3 Dee longs so desperately for his father’s approval. As we see in the show, he’s loved by his teacher at school and is almost worshipped as the smartest in the class. He performs well on every test. He doesn’t get the validation he wants from Glam so he looks to get it from his teacher instead. I feel like although Dee makes it seem like it comes easy to him, it doesn’t. I imagine little sticky notes about the collapse of the Byzantine Empire in his copy of Lord of the Rings, hours spent lying awake late at night thinking about the next unit, a pristine looking textbook for school and one with demented scribbles all over it to study at home. Music doesn’t come easy for Dee, sure, but if Glam nurtured it instead of rejecting that Dee has any talent at all, Dee might’ve been as good at guitar as he is at school.

<3 Dee is bullied at school. Not just by Chipmunk but by other kids as well. He always tries to be a hero and protect Heavy when Heavy gets in fights, but I feel like he may be bullied just in general when Heavy is not involved as well. I also have a theory where Dee sneaks out of the window at night because he has made “deals” with kids who would bully Heavy, but they leave Heavy alone in exchange for Dee going to meet them at night instead. Maybe sometimes they would be satisfied just beating Dee up, or sometimes they’ll ask him to steal things for them… the possibilities are endless

<3 Dee hates being looked at, maybe due to not liking his appearance. We see he averts his eyes when Lif looks directly at him, and he is outright mean to Diane when she stares for too long. He’s just very insecure about himself.

<3 Dee struggles with anxiety and depression. He just has the vibes for it

<3 Glam and Vicky focus so much on Heavy because he’s younger and such a handful that they forget Dee is still growing too. I’ve noticed they tend to treat Heavy more like an actual kid, but whenever Dee is involved they seem to treat him like an adult. For example, when they told Glam on separate occasions that he’d been summoned to school, Glam’s reaction to Heavy was just an “ok :)!” But when Dee came in Glam was surprised and disappointed like, “Oh… it’s you, Dee :(.” And it may be because they expect Dee to be more mature but they’re always harsher with him. Like when Dee doesn’t go to school bc he has a field trip first period and Vicky immediately starts yelling, but a few episodes later Heavy gets to skip school on the day of an important test for his birthday

(also guys making it clear that i don’t headcanon glam or Vicky as abusive. I think they both have trauma and they’re trying their best to overcome it and honestly the way they treat Dee is a pretty common dynamic some parents fall into. Although I do think they should maybe try to make up for their mistakes at some point)

One of the reasons I'm not posting much it's bc I'm about to get my music degree 🥳 I'm very excited about it, I've been waiting for two years and finally the moment has come! But with that, I'm still studying for my master's degree so I have a lot of assignments piled up (and work too bc I work and study. I know, a mess). Also, I've been preparing for something personal that's coming very soon and I think I'll make a post about it when the time comes but let's see how things go.

I want to do so many things with this blooog, it's been almost a month since I started using it and I'm really happy about how you guys received it and my readings and the love and support and how it has made me develop and have a better relationship with my decks (before I didn't use them that much, when in fact, they love to be used and are very social). I received some ideas for activities and readings that I would love to do as well!

What I wanted to say is, thank you for trusting me, being patient and giving me your time and energy. The purpose of my readings is entertain you, sometimes learn one or two things, and also having fun. I'm glad that we can share this space and have fun together.
