these are just the ones that came to mind right now, but you can also switch it up with whatever polyneed ship you like.

but something i'd like to keep set in stone, at least in my interpretation, is that shiho is always the one sacrificing themselves for the other. it also parallels beautifully to our main story, when they pushed everyone away for the sake of their friends, not knowing that in reality they were actively hurting those they loved so much.

i think it's similar to how sua chose to keep mizi in the dark about the entire concept of the competition and secretly planned to lose, in what she thought to be an act that would save mizi.

if we take the ichisaki route, then i definitely think that ichika is the one sacrificing herself. she's always cared so much about her gfs, and i believe that if she and saki were in the alnst universe and she knew about the true nature of the contest, she would actively plan to lose just to "save" saki and give her one more chance at surviving the show.

thinking about post-conan Shinichi's relationship with the detective boys for my fanfic from an outside perspective is so funny

like Megure be calling like "kudo-kun sorry to wake you so early but come quick there's been a murder" and Shinichi be like "okay I'll wake up the the detective boys" and Megure is like "??? what do you mean"

and Shinichi is like yeah? we were having a sleepover at the professors house

and everyone is wondering why the hell is a 25 yo ass man having sleepovers with a bunch of 15 yo kids and also why they address him so disrespectfully when they think nobody is watching

he gossips with these children as if they were the same age and when people ask them how they became friends he says "oh they're not my friends they're my cousin's" which answers absolutely nothing (it's not like he can say they used to be classmates...)

tbh Haibara would be different because unlike Conan she never really acted like "one of them" and always had that "mature older sister" vibe (in canon adults have taken her for a middle schooler because of that)

so even if she decided to go back to being an adult while maintaining her relationship with the kids (in my fic she's still living at the professors house as Shiho Miyano) their relationship wouldn't change much since they were always more respectful towards her, and there was always some sort of distance in the way she addresses them.

the only thing that changes is that now that's she's legally considered to be an adult she can take them on trips and she does that A LOT. she takes them camping she takes them all around the country and sometimes even on expensive trips abroad they're inseparable. those kids are HER kids

(my hc for this fanfic is that while shinichi immediately took the antidote when it was completed, haibara hesitated for a long time but decided to take it in the end because she realized that becoming Shiho Miyano again didn't have to be at the cost of everything she had gained as Ai Haibara)

(meanwhile Shinichi wanted to get his old life back so much that it actually took a lot more time to realize all the good things that Conan had brought into his life and seeing Shiho build her new life on top of what she had experienced as Ai Haibara really helps him come to the realization that Shinichi Kudo and Conan Edogawa don't have to be separate people, at least not to his close friends and family)

What's ur fav piece of trivia for every* character?

my favorite trivia for characters is usually just whatever i think is funniest so just keep that in mind. that's not always the case but you might see it become a pattern. oh the other thing is whatever is most soul-crushing so yeah.

Ichika - either the fact her name comes from how her parents met (because i think it's really sweet) or that she accidentally discovered miku when she was watching videos on her dad's tablet and opened a recording of a miku concert

Saki - she used to listen to the song Time Machine when she was in hospital (at Ichika's recommendation) to remind her of family and friends. It's the in-universe reason why she is featured on the cover. This is actually one of my favorite facts in the game overall.

Honami - she is surprisingly good at flirting

Shiho - not one I've posted before, but in Run! Sports Festival! she couldn't bring herself to throw any of the balls in the ball toss because they had cute animal designs on them

Minori - she once passed out because Haruka wished her happy birthday.

Haruka - she likes penguins because she thinks the way they waddle is cute and she likes how round a lot of penguin merch is

Airi - she followed all of Shizuku's campaigns and bought all the magazines she was featured in when she was still a member of Cheerful*Days. She insists it was just research.

Shizuku - either that she usually has a thermos of miso soup on her to eat after practice or archery club or that she isn't good at texting. i haven't posted either of these before

Kohane - again one I haven't posted yet, but her favorite photo she's taken of Count Pearl is one of Pearl eating mice. the rest of VBS are surprised that she isn't squeamish about that sort of thing (i dunno what they're talking about that sounds like a very cool photo).

Akito - in Cinema he's the only person to sing solo during the first two choruses, the others don't get solo parts in the chorus until the end of the song. i think about this one a lot actually

Tsukasa - he's the comedic relief and there's a lot of really random shit i know about him because of that, so my favorite fact about him is whatever will have the most impact in the moment if i were to mention it out of nowhere. for a less vague answer, this one although i consider it to be one of my worst posts

Emu - she's very good at replicating cartoon faces. i like this one because it raises a few questions about whether the L2Ds are still exaggerated or if she just looks like that and no one questions that she actually has a cartoon face. what if project sekai ends with them all becoming self-aware.

Nene - either the fact that she thinks the forest has good graphics or that she called rui's mom "auntie" when she was younger because i think it's cute.

Rui - i like a good reference and i appreciate that he sometimes references famous people and media.

Kanade - she's left handed. i also like that her family name was made up specifically to contrast with the rest of N25.

Mafuyu - either that it's shown one time that she can see ghosts and then it's never brought up or referenced again, or that the "mom's cooking" listed as her favorite food might refer to the bunny-shaped apple slices her mother would make for her when she was a kid. i also like the detail that her eyes being two-tone is because she inherited the eye colors of both her parents.

Ena - twitter user. also despite loving cheesecake, she doesn't like cheese. girl what the hell.

Mizuki - they started out editing by making AMVs for a magical girl anime they liked. Amia comes from the name of a character from that anime. also did you know they put ice cubes in noodles because of their sensitive tongue. ice cubes.

Hello, Aki, ramble about CoAi/ShinShi (I assume it stands for Shinichi/Shiho?), please! Like your thoughts on it as a whole (what you love about them) and/or headcanons. I can't say it's my ship but it's the most interesting of all and I fave it. Also, I miss Detective Conan, my childhood.

It does indeed stand for Shinichi/Shiho, lol. Honestly I just love their dynamic. They're always in sync with each other, the banter between them is hilarious, the list goes on. I used to like Shinichi/Ran back when I was a kid. Thought that they were cute together. Then as I got older, they just became increasingly unrealistic for me, and I just can't see them working out in the long term. Shinichi has gaslit Ran idk how many times at this point, making it seem as if she was crazy for thinking that Conan is in fact Shinichi, and he has help from people to pull it off. Then there's the fact that she's out of the loop in regards to his whole situation, all because he wants to protect her from the BO (which is so freaking stupid, it would be safer for Ran if she DOES know what going on, this way she doesn't say anything that may put Shinichi in danger.) Once everything is said and done and he tells her the truth (and I really hope that he does) I can't see their relationship lasting after that. Ran will have every right to be angry with him, especially since a lot of people they know were in on his predicament but her. Ran would have every right to break up with him over that. Which is why I really don't ship those two anymore. Plus I just find CoAi/ShinShi way more interesting than ShinRan as a couple. They just have so much freaking potential (if only Gosho would realize that!) as a couple. The chemistry between them is also better than the chemistry between Shinichi and Ran, imo. And they just seem like the more realistic pairing to me.

+ emu is scary capable of starting a long conversation with anyone like she’s incredibly good at figuring out what you’re interested in/can ramble about and asking you questions about it. This actually has basis in canon but I like to remind people.

+ I think I’ve talked abt it on here before but I think tsukasa having a fictional character crush on the normal virtual singer kaito when he was younger & not realizing it is an incredibly funny idea. He’s like “yeah idk why I just used to really like the character. Whatever (doesn’t analyze this further even when the wxs sekai manifests).” Wxs Kaito knows this but he’s not saying shit because it’s not relevant anymore but it DOES make him side eye tsukasa incredibly hard whenever tsukasa is like “these must be normal best friend feelings I’m feeling towards rui.”

+ technically rin and len being twins is a head canon but I’m sorry that’s so stupid they’re twins to me

+ nene experiences gamer rage. Wxs operate under the assumption that she doesn’t really get Super Angry until they’re at her house and see her die to a boss in a fromsoft game/fail a platforming section for the 30th time and she’s Seething.

+ mmj could survive if they got stranded in the wilderness. Would they make it back to civilization though? Only if they don’t trust shizuku with directions.

I think I say my hot takes often & without any restraint so it’s hard to throw one out that I haven’t mentioned before uhh

+ fanbase has a misogyny problem. Who’s shocked (no one). Not even a hot take but I see a lot of people get mad when this is said like. please look up what an implicit bias is.

+ I don’t trust people who only talk about tsukasa with any character takes (including ones about tsukasa they straight up Do Not Get Him) because they’re incapable of viewing other characters outside of their relationship to him. I also don’t trust them in general & find them irritating. & this is coming from someone who talks abt him a lot.

+ you Need To Interact With The Canon Text because if you rely solely on how the fanbase portrays characters you’re going to walk away with the completely wrong characterization. Also the stories are good so you should really be doing that anyways.

+ actually very unhelpful and irritating to reduce female characters down to like one trait and then pretend you’re a fan of them bc 90% of the time the trait is wrong. Nene for example I see so many bad takes on because people think she’s a girl boss (???) 24/7 hater (??????) who never says anything nice about her friends (??????????)

FINALLY! You have no idea how empty my inbox was for the past couple of months! It's always nice to see people so interested in my AUs!

So here are a couple of fun facts regarding each of my AUs!

Project SWITCH: With the exception of Kohane (who is simply a huge fan), all of Wonderland!VBS have familial connections to the theme park staff. Ken (alongside the Kotakis) are in charge of the theme park (thus making An much like Emu in that regard), while Shinei and Harumichi work in the animation sector (Shinei as a stills artist, and Harumichi as the BGM composer). Wonderland!VBS may or may not be childhood friends, in that regard.

Project FUSE: (since you seem to REALLY like leo/show) Ever since Honami became friends with Rui, she became severely concerned for the MV director's diet, and did her best to steadily introduce vegetables into Rui's diet. She did this by sneaking vegetables into Rui's slice of apple pie. However, Rui knows about Honami's schemes, and swaps his plate with Emu's (who simply can't get enough of veggie and apple pie), every single time.

Project SHUFFLE: Just like in canon, Kohane, Minori, and Shiho are all into pet-care simulation games. Whenever, they aren't performing for their adoring fans, they like to recharge their social batteries backstage and check up on their little virtual pets. Much to their surprise, Mafuyu expressed interest in their games, and so the three classmates taught their senpai all about them. What Mafuyu's mother doesn't know is that one of the few apps populating her son's phone is a fish-care simulation game.

Project SPIN: The mindset behind Enter the Machine's mechanical design goes as followed: Emu comes up with a crazy idea for an equally crazy machine, Rui somehow manages to fully understand what Emu is trying to say, he translates it into proper mechanical terms that Kanade can understand, Rui and Kanade work together to design the machine itself, and Mafuyu performs the test runs and offers his standard blunt critiques. Rinse and repeat.

Saki, Honami, and Shiho are regular citizens that are unaware but Shiho is VERY against the Hero System.

Minori: Legal hero, under the government's watch, actually admires the vigilantes but has to follow the law (she find loopholes to set them free though)

Shizuku: An ex-hero who was killed for mysterious reasons that they'll figure out as the plot progresses. (I LOVE SHIZUKU I SWEAR GUYS PLEASE) Shizuku's death is the catalyst for Shiho's disdain towards the hero system, Tsukasa's motive to become a vigilante, and Minori's push to pursue hero work and follow in her footsteps.

VBS

Akito: Vigilante, is pro-hero system, but weirdly violent?

An finds out since the very start and helps him from the backseat, occasionally being extremely concerned on where her friend's morals lie.

Toya: Anti-hero, against the hero system, but weirdly more civilised than Akito.

Kohane works with him after finding out and gets dragged into the field too.

WxS

Tsukasa: Vigilante, pro-hero system, started vigilante because he was unsatisfied about the explanation they gave on Shizuku's death. He doesn't exactly suspect the Hero System, but he is not that convinced. He believes they do more good than harm though.

Nene finds out first and absolutely smacks some sense into him before insisting he lets her help.

Emu finds out second and becomes their main alibi, since no one expects Emu to lie. And she's shockingly good at it. Nene just clams up and gets nervous when put on the spot. Plus, it's Tsukasa. She can say "oh he did a flip off a stage speaker and landed wrong" to explain a broken ankle and absolutely no one would question it.

Rui finds out last, mainly because we thought it'd be funny but also due to the fact that Rui is actually against the Hero System, and is extremely scared to accept the reality that Tsukasa might be out in the field. With his fears of losing his loved ones and all. But he learns about it one day, and becomes Tsukasa's man behind the screens.

(Bonus, Saki absolutely fucking loses at when she finds out, not only is her GIRLFRIEND a hero out on dangerous fields, BUT BOTH HER BROTHERS TOO. Shiho pats her back in a sympathetic "yeah I get it. I really do girl")

Mafuyu: Anti-hero, against hero system. I killed off Mafumom (not really sorry) so it was her breaking point. As much as I hate Mafumom, Mafuyu loves her dearly and would absolutely do some batshit things if anything happens to her.

Mizuki: Vigilante, pro-hero system but she just follows her own morals at this point.

Kanade is the woman behind the screens, helping out both Mafuyu and Mizuki. She doesn't know that THEY don't know about each other so this leads to very confusing moments for all three of them.

Ena is in the same boat as Saki and Shiho now, because not only is her GIRLFRIEND a vigilante, BUT HER BROTHER TOO. unwillingly dragged into the club.

(another bonus, Akito's outfit is fucking HORRENDOUSLY bad. The white knights trio is still a thing here, so you bet the two costume designers of the three absolutely bullied him to hell and back about his choices)

Plot:

(Ootori company is still a theme park company, but it's just a cover up for a bigger corporation, one that creates all the villains and problems the characters face against. Neither Emu nor her siblings are aware. One day, her brothers went missing after a meeting with their dad to discuss their company's future and that's the catalyst for the climax)

rui - nonbinary cat baby!!!!! i flip on whether i lean more on nonbinary but amab or full transneutral but either way he is so he/they. to me. i don't really incorportate that in my writing bc i struggle to write a character using multiple pronouns without making it confusing but that IS the vibe. also he's wearing a binder in his canary card idc if you think it's a normal tank top you're just wrong <3

mafuyu - i do not default to transmasc mafuyu but the vibe is so real. i get it. not for nothing but one of the reasons sweet syndrome mafuyu has short hair and isn't wearing a dress in my shuffle au is because it's something i'm heavily considering i just haven't fully decided how that's going down

theme of this group: regain lost childhood! because holy fuck! their aesthetic is based on like visual kei maybe i haven’t decided but i did want to make glam rock miku so we’ll adjust.

anyways, this group formed the same way the original april fools group did, though shizuku actually suggested it to airi and they pulled in ena and tsukasa from kami high. everyone’s backstories also remain more or less the same, bar the fact that saki instead watched just, the sickest keytar solo and tsukasa went “hell yeah time to make my baby sister happy with sick piano riffs”.

i mostly think the friendship dynamics in this one are sweet and fun and i don’t know enough vocaloid songs to make it work but i do want them to be consistently just going ham on their songs. just going all in on these hard as hell rock songs. they deserve it. they have the vocal chops.

theme of this group: just like the most ill-suited people for japanese idol work. hope is still delivered, the climb upwards is still constant. i really like the mmj outfits (this person has a magical girl bias) but like vibe wise for this group i’d probably go for a kpop idol group look. which is unpopular in japanese marketing but still

i wanted to do a pun on “messenger” but that didn’t pan out, so penumbra is a tentative placeholder. this is specifically in reference to kanade’s name and shiho’s names (a penumbra can both refer to a partial lunar eclipse and the outer edges of a sunspot), and just. overall the group could be summed up as “almost enough” yeah? there’s also the belief that eclipses are when communication opens up due to celestial bodies lining up so it fits

this group forms in an extremely complicated way ngl but an and akito’s goal is still to surpass rad weekend (in a different way. this might be undermining their integrity as musicians if i’m being honest) and they’re a bit. bitter about things. shiho is similarly bitter at her sister though things are still pretty close to canon things just got changed a little. kanade’s backstory is exactly the same and how she gets into the group is also just like the april fools version where she was just going to compose the group’s songs in the background but she got pulled in the spotlight instead. the group finds a lot of inspiration from kanade. secretly.

this was like one the first groups i wanted to changed and swap, mostly because of 1) there’s too many cool colors in the april fools swap! hell! kanade is dying in the warm color gang. akito’s here to break that up a little. and 2) i wanted the boys to Not be relegated to one group, that felt… insulting. slightly smaller reason is that i’m pretty sure akito is a canon idol fan so while i think he’d be embarrassed and not Enjoying his masculinity being “tarnished” by the public, i still think he’s doing okay. something about those “i put akito in a mmj video to torture him” videos rub me the wrong way.

the baggage gang. so much. so much in fact their miku initially calls them “the worst idol candidates i’ve ever seen. kanade at least shows some promise, she wants to have people with her music, ‘hope’ is just another form of that. you can’t treat idol-hood as just a different avenue for your pipe dreams.”

no notes this group is perfect 10/10, i just wanted to lean into the “sentai” part of their name. if i ever get the energy to i’d like to redesign their outfits to be sentai outfits because like Maybe that breaks the fairytale theme pheenieland has but i don’t care. i want cheese

same as canon, a little more permanently though, because like. yeah.

this plays out like a precure season but with better character writing, so every event they defeat the bad guys (old traumas and history haunting each other) and learn a moral at the end! (everyone’s smiles become a bit more real and emu worries a little less)

theme of this group: childhood friends stumble into the brand new world of street music and fashion! investigate the mysteries of shibuyu and vivid street together as you dance around your baggage!

this one was made because i switched some people and everyone got grouped up here but hey i think this works! two sets of childhood friends, partner edition!

basically we take all their casual outfits and crank them up to 11 in a specific fashion subculture, like ichika is full on pink now, saki leans harder into old school hime gyaru, mizuki goes all in on the lolita look, and rui really looks like a 2000’s scene kid.

what they actually do is preform shows (dj4dj style) where mizuki and rui are in the back supporting ichika and saki preforming in the front.

i think they all spend their spare time solving urban mysteries together both the silly and real. top of the list is “who were the rising stars of vivid street, and why did they abandon it and rad weekend?” occasionally ichika wonders if that curiosity should be directed inward towards their little group but she isn’t… sure if she should pry.

theme of this group: all of their dreams have been destroyed and it’s coping time! they talk about their hobbies at 1 am and yearn

i like to think sometimes nene and toya get into an autism music special interest feedback loop and honami is just smiling while minori is losing it trying to keep up with them.

because they only talk at 1 am there’s a very deep melancholy permeating through all their chats. minori is the only one to actively talk about her dreams but even she dodges directly talking about it by talking about idols instead. toya doesn’t… have a lot to talk about since he doesn’t have akito to hang out with so he just talks about the arcade. nene talks about her games which everyone tries to understand but once she gets into meta gaming all hope is lost. honami gives them all a lot of housework advice and they all love it when both honami and minori send in their dogs. but in general it’s… a bit quiet.

their sekai costumes reference what their sekai costumes would look like if their dreams where being chased, except toya who never found that dream. he’s dressed like a composer instead.
