The curtains are just blue discourse drives me a little bit mad. I think OP was very clear in their criticism of the way teachers often approach symbolism and interpretation, that their is one true answer and it is their own. When often, a good work has many layers and ways to interpret different symbols. The focus should be on proving your assertion not finding the interpretation your teacher likes.

Additionally, many books taught in English class purposely do not have a lot of deeper meaning because the target audience is believed to be unable to find it. For example, most of the stories I was tested on had a very obvious blaring answer and little room for true analysis.

I understand why teachers do this, it's a bad situation to be trying to teach critical thinking and they usually do not get to choose their curriculum.

To watch so many go "you're the idiot for thinking the curtains are ever just blue" misses the key point of the post. At least, I think, I haven't been able to find the original post and make sure so I'm going off my memory.

TLDR: It's really frustrating when you have a lot of self-righteous people going "you didn't get the point of English class/ the curtains" when it seems they didn't get the point of the original post.

First ship: Ah, well, it was a long time ago, you see. I remember a velociraptor used to live next door to me, nice chap, kept opening and closing doors for no reason though. Percy/Annabeth. I was obsessed, OBSESSED I say. I dove into the sea of fanfiction for the first time for them.

Last song: Arsonists Lullabye by Hozier. I had such a good sleep after listening to it. But the one that I make sure to play atleast once a day is Anthaathi by Govind Vasantha. Language is not a boundary, guys. Go listen to it.

Last TV show: I finished The Boys S4 E5. Unfortunately, sacrificing small children for speedy updates in my favourite fanfictions is a time-consuming process so I'm not sure when I'll finish it (they keep squirming all the time). Legend of Vox Machina. I've finished both seasons. Now I'm glued to Amazon Prime's YouTube channel, grabbing at the crumbs.

Currently reading: My Biology textbook. Ok jk you know I don't study. I finished rereading The God Of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. I reread Sea of Poppies (this made me hyperfixate on historical fiction). Finally finished The Godfather. Other than books? I've camped in AO3 indefinitely.

Currently watching: House MD. Just started. I'm a few episodes in. I'm absolutely in love with House's wit and dry humour. And the medical stuff in it is helpful too for studying. I'm making excuses but I really find it fun! (Trypanosoma , a protozoan, causes sleeping sickness)

Currently eating: Nothing. I had chapathi with dal curry and egg burji three hours ago though.

Currently craving: Schezwan Maggi. Schezwan Maggi. Schezwan Maggi. And a good, proper cup of chai.

Book Review

I listened to this on YouTube.

It was ok. Some things seemed helpful most didn't. The robotic reading voice didn't help.

I agree that the internet is nothing to be scared of, and with good customer experience, old fashioned brick and mortar with no internet marketing still thrive.

I think you do need to have a good website though, with correct hours, address, pricing, and menus if appropriate.
