Elsewhere - Blog - 1
Elsewhere is a project name that I chose for my final project during the course of MA gmae art and design at the University of Hertfordshire.
This project is a game of survival, exploration, and discovery in a post-apocalyptic world. My final major project will revolve around creating a game teaser for this story. The major scene is a recreation of an abandoned Canary Wharf tube station. The eerie calm of the overgrown metropolis greets you as you exit the abandoned Canary Wharf tube station. Skyscrapers tower above, their glass smashed and steel frames corroded. The streets are overgrown with weeds and vines, and the air smells strongly of rot. This is what remains of London following the apocalypse. And then, with the reveal of the beautifully standard building, now destroyed, I want to capture the essence of the dystopian world and bring out its beauty.
Tumblr media
The story goes on for the project :
The world had ended, but London was still standing. Well, sort of. As you emerge from the abandoned Canary Wharf tube station, you're struck by the eerie silence of the overgrown city. Towering skyscrapers loom overhead, their windows shattered and their steel frames rusted. The streets are choked with weeds and vines, and the air is thick with the smell of decay. This is what's left of London after the apocalypse.
Your mission is to survive in this unforgiving world, scavenging for supplies and fending off the dangers that lurk around every corner. As you make your way through the ruined city, you'll encounter other survivors—some friendly, some not so friendly. You'll have to decide who to trust and who to avoid.
As you explore the abandoned buildings and streets, you'll uncover clues about what happened to cause the apocalypse. Was it a nuclear war? A deadly virus? Something even more sinister? The answers are out there, waiting for you to find them.
Tumblr media
But be careful: the ruins of London are full of dangers. Many different unknown creatures are spotted, and many different species who are not humans are also seen roaming the streets and creating their fractions. Rival factions of survivors are constantly vying for power, and suddenly we humans are not the dominant and intelligent species on earth. As it turns out, earth has become a mutual ground (a starting point) for all the different species from a different world. You'll need to use your wits and your combat skills to stay alive in this unforgiving world.
As you delve deeper into the ruins of London, you'll uncover the secrets of the past and chart a course for the future. Will you find a way to rebuild this once-great city, or will you succumb to the dangers that lurk around every corner? The fate of London is in your hands.

Midnight chatter
Yandere Diluc x gn!knight!reader
Wordcount: 2385
CW: Yandere, drugging, kidnapping
This was a third week after his return and fifth day of the tireless fight with winery work, when Diluc received an unexpected guest. During his travels across the world, the winery business fell into disrepair and almost collapsed, so once he learnt the state of the wine industry he decided to settle in his office and try to battle the endless reports about necessary expenses and small profits all on his own.
He started to work with the first rays of sunlight well into the night, squeezing every bit of energy his body had, not only because financial issues could affect him personally, but also because of the night vigilante of Mondstadt title he took upon himself.Due to the increased workload he couldn’t find time to patrol the dark streets and alleys of the city, while experience and conscience didn’t allow him to thrust the safety of ordinary citizens into the hands of bumbling, cowardly and lazy knights.
The day soon turned into the late evening, and dawn winery workers started to go home, when someone knocked on his door. It was Adelinde.
Her steps were faster than usual, her stoic face shadowed by the note of concern. Diluc wanted to say that no, he won’t go and have a rest, but she spoke first.
“Master Diluc”, she stopped before his desk: “we have a guest, a knight”.
He lifted his head shifting the eyes from the report to the head maid and pondered - despite his long absence, a lot of people in the city had a general idea how much he dislikes the Favonius Order and so a rare knight would actually dare to bother him, unless… Unless, they were acting out an order from someone high-ranking, like Jean or Varka for example.
Apprehension that his former colleague somehow learned of his nightly escapades sent an unexpected wave of shivers and vague feeling of unease, but he didn’t let it get to him.
“Ask why this knight is here and if it’s something unofficial tell them to leave”, he ordered, at which Adelinde blinked, slowly and tiredly, as if she was looking for the strength to tell something incredibly upsetting or scary.
“The thing is, master Diluc, that I already let them in”.
“Without my permission?”, his eyes widened at that, and the heart started to pick up the pace. What if this knight was really sent here by Varka or Jean? If it was true, Adelinde, unknowingly set him up to fail.
She was looking after him from his earliest childhood, so she was allowed to do and say more than any other of his staff, yet this perceived audacity was unheard of before.
“They were badly injured and said that they needed to stop for the night and once it’s over they will travel to the city with the first sun rays. We helped them to patch up their injuries and offered a room for guests, yet they declined and remained to sit on sofa”, the maid explained absolutely unfazed, after noticing Dilucs dissatisfaction and then added : “If you are that displeased, master Diluc, I can tell this tired and battered knight to get out from here into the dark night”.
Her voice remained even and emotionless as usual, but even like that young Ragnvindr could hear a light mocking in her words. And to think about it - he got so freaked out over some silly coincidence - the knight stopped here because of the injuries, not some insidious scheme.
“Alright”, Diluc admitted defeat: “they can stay… and offer them some food and tea”, he added just as Adelinde’s hand touched the doorknob.
“Will be done”, she replied before exiting the office. The corners of her mouth slightly moved and crept upwards.
***
Despite his earlier goal of finishing as much work as he can, Diluc couldn’t do anything. Small digits and letters started to float and dance before his eyes while the long lines fused together, when he tried to analyze the state of wine business in naught. But the worst thing was the fact that his thoughts strayed to the topic of mystery knight again and again and Diluc lost count how many times he caught himself thinking who this person is.
He sat like that for a while, until the cinnabar of dying sky got replaced by the darkness and pleasant chill of the night.
Diluc scolded himself for his uncharacteristic indecisiveness, standing up from the desk and locking the office, when this thought, loud and persisting, knocked into his head again. Wouldn’t it be nice, he wondered, to learn who this night is, and finally decided. After all the thoughts about them pestered him for a long time.
Quietly and carefully walking through the unlit corridor of the winery, he confirmed that all servants and workers had already left for sleep, some into the rooms of the main building designated for them, some into the cabins around it. All in all, he was confident that there’s no one except him, the knight, Adelinde and a couple of other maids.
His steps were quiet and slow and not even a single board in the wooden floor creaked under his weight as he knew the winery like the back of his hand. With a bated breath he made his way downstairs, making out vague shapes of the familiar objects. Moonlight pouring out through the windows illuminated only the silhouettes, but even with that he quickly noticed the unknown frame.
The person was half-sitting half-lying on the sofa, and their sword and armor were placed nearby the furniture, reflecting the pale light of the moon. They weren’t moving, seemingly asleep. Diluc couldn’t make out their face even after making a coming closer, so he decided to take the risk and summoned a small wisp of flame.
The dancing light illuminated everything in a small radius and what he saw made him jolt and take a step back. You were the mystery knight.
Why are you still a knight? Where were you? Who injured you?
Still shocked by the previous revelation, Diluc accidentally knocked over the breastplate with his foot and it fell on it’s side with a loud thump.
You woke up.
“What… Who?”, you stirred and half sat on the elbow: “Ah, it’s you” and saw him :”What are you doing here?”.
Caught red handed, Diluc didn’t find any words - it was so sudden and unusual to be caught unaware, and because of that doubly unpleasant.
“This is my winery and I am free to do whatever I want”, he decided to hide the awkwardness behind the faux annoyance.
“Easy, easy” you half smiled, half yawned: “I just managed to fall asleep”. You yawned again and blinked at him with sleepy tired eyes.
“I have sleep medicine if you want some”
You got surprised and touched by his sudden responsiveness: “Thank you, but I think painkillers would be better. My body is aching and that’s the main problem”.
Maybe because of the trembling, dancing light or maybe because of the recent sleep you imagined worry and pity twisting his facial features.
“I have it too. Wait here”, he quickly replied and vanished into the dim darkness of the winery, not giving you any time to answer, as you were left to sit and wait for him. Diluc, to your own surprise, happened to be extremely stealthy, able to move without producing a single sound.
“Here”, you first heard and then saw him,as Diluc used pyro vision to light the nearby candlestick and then opened the medicine vial he brought and handed it to you: “Drink it all”.
“Thank you”, you whispered to him, taking the painkiller before making a big gulp. The taste was horrible, so horrible in fact that you almost immediately started to violently cough. Well, if it’s as effective as foul, then I will be good as new in no time, you thought to yourself, suppressing the urge to throw up.
Diluc stood nearby and observed your reaction, his hand extended on his own when the coughing started as he awkwardly tried to pat your back in the gesture of comfort. “I will be here with you until you fall asleep”, he stated once the fit stopped and then, seeing your highly raised brows explained further: “Painkiller takes time to work. Tell me if you won’t feel better”.
You nodded in response, and closed eyes, listening to the sensations of your body. Your injuries still burned and screamed and throbbed, yet a strange numb sensation started to slowly surround you. Just like Diluc said, medicine would need time to fully settle in.
“If you're here can you talk with me?”, you decided to shorten the time in conversation: “Ijust wanted to talk with you. For a really long time”.
“About what?”, he allowed himself a shadow of the smile, Diluc that you used to know peeking through the gloomy facade, like a long awaited sun or it’s reflection on the tranquil mirror of the water surface. Next words stuck in your throat, bitter and acidic and totally unfit, and you had to force them out through your own hesitance to destroy this calm.
“What happened that day? The day before you left. I asked Jean and Kaeya and other knights who were present with you, yet no one said anything”, the water surface bubbled and the visage of that old, sunny Ragnvindr shattered into thousand pieces. The person before you adopted the same cold facade of annoyance and indifference.
“Why do you need to know it?”, he answered the question with another question and you sensed barely buried hurt and grief.
“You leaving hurt. A lot”
“That’s why you are still a knight?”, you quickly nodded at that.
A minute passed by and he still stood, without saying a single word, thinking what to do. On one hand, he didn;t want to open up, the story of his eighteenth birthday was incredibly painful and personal experience to be shared so freely, on the other hand he yearned for your understanding.
"Alright", he broke the silence:"Let's make a deal, you answer my questions and I'll tell you the whole story after. Deal?"
"Deal".
Diluc looked at you again, looked at the bruises and cuts, still peeking through the bandages and for a second his mind lit up with one thought alone: what disgusting bastard did that to you. He suppressed the rapidly rising rage, deciding to start from the most important.
"Is my leave the only reason why you decided to stay?" his heart picks up the pace again, he needs to know the answer.
"Basically yes, you knownI didn’t do it for my parents… I just.. That tragedy, I know it's not my place, but… I always wanted what happened to you. I asked this question to myself everyday and night, and I missed you terribly".
His breath hitched and he lowered his gaze. For some reason you always managed to fluster him with the words alone, even if it wasn't your intention.
"Your parents must be happy", h e changed the topic, stifling the heat in his heart.
"Yeah, they're ecstatic that I stopped being difficult and made their aspirations real. Hm, do you have any other questions?"
"What happened to you? ",he pointed at the bandages covering most of your body.
"Ah, catching treasure hoarders does that to you, usual stuff", you dismissed his concerns and Diluc started seeing red from the way your voice remained so calm and unbothered. Usual stuff? Usual stuff?!
"Grandmaster could send anyone else", he snapped:"Favonius Order has more than plenty of vision holders, they should've sent one, instead of you! You could die!".
Diluc’s sudden explosion left you speechless, but soon your own weaved words of irritation:"Ordo Favonius doesn't consist of Jean and Kaeya only. We can't let them handle all the hard and dangerous business all the time. Ordinary people like me can still help, even if the gods didn’t favour us. Don't think of me as some helpless idiot just because I have no shiny vision to show off"
Your heated response seemed to work and Diluc turned red from embarrassment, realizing how annoyed you got, despite the worry for your health and still present anger at the other knights for letting you get hurt. He also didn’t like how you looked at him, reprimanding and disappointed.
"Alright, sorry", he cleared his throat:"where were you before? I haven't seen you anywhere"
"City gates aren't the only thing that needs guarding. I was sent to the Liyue border, to make sure that no treasure gang crosses it. I think I will get sent there again, once I fully recover".
Diluc got angry at that too, yet this time he suppressed unpleasant feelings, already knowing how you will rebuke and reprimand him again. There's no convincing to be done, as you won't change your opinion. You left him no choice for what he was going to do.
"Alright, you answered all my questions", he said before changing topic again:"Did painkillers start working? I have another".
Being so engrossed in the conversation you forgot about the ache, yet once he mentioned it your body started to hurt with a renewed strength.
"Yes, I would like one", you decided and Diluc vanished in the unlit hall yet again.
"Here", he handed the small bottle to you already opened. The new substance was different, sweet and viscous. You managed to take two sips before your eyelids started to feel up with lead, and soon even lifting a hand seemed like a highly arduous task. Whatever the thing that Diluc gave you wasn't a painkiller.
"What…", you uttered, before your body relaxed and you fell asleep once again. Diluc bent over, looming over your unconscious form, as his hands carefully took the bottle away. He didn’t want it to somehow fall and injure you
This is a necessary measure, Diluc assured himself, before making a plan of actions. He would need to fake your disappearance and forge enough leads to direct investigation into the completely opposite direction, but now he needed to wake Adelinde up and ask her to prepare the room in the basement. He didn't want you to be uncomfortable in your new home.

SAITAMA URAMI EAST JUNIOR HIGH - 1ST YEAR
“Here you go, you’ll need this”
Turning his head to look up, Fushiguro quickly noticed someone standing over him with their hand stretched out in front of him leading his eyes to peer down, only to notice a bandage wrap within the palm of their hands causing him to turn away as if he was looking away in disgust.
“Here you go, you’ll need this, you drag,” you repeated with the insult causing an irk to appear on Fushiguro’s forehead before turning to look at you with an annoyed expression present on his face.
“Go away, I don’t need it,” Fushiguro mentioned with some hint of annoyance and irritation within his tone causing the same irk to appear on your forehead as you then turned your head to look at the pile of beaten bodies that were behind him - an unsightly common sight since you enrolled into Saitama Urami East Junior High.
Sighing out loud, you suddenly grabbed the back of Fushiguro’s collar and began dragging him across the floor towards the bench that was close by (much to Fushiguro’s annoyance) and threw his body slight causing his upper shoulder area to hit the wooden side of the bench which lead him to hiss in pain.
“I don’t need it~ well sounds like you do,” you teased in a nonchalant manner causing Fushiguro to give you a sharp glare only to see that you had no reaction to it. Reaching into your blazer pocket, you took out a box of painkillers with some plasters in different sizes and a small pot of ointment before placing them on the outdoor bench.
“Don’t bother your sister too much...okay?” you rhetorically asked your classmate before turning back to walk away from the situation since you knew Fushiguro was going to question you on your knowledge about his sister even though he - on the outside - never really took the time to appreciate her or showed that he cared.
“What a drag,” you commented with another sigh before stretching your arms down to release the act that was slowly creeping its way to your shoulders as some students began to exit out of the school building to eat their lunch causing them to notice you as you gave them a little wave.
A FEW WEEKS LATER
Ever since that day, Fushiguro couldn’t help but begin to notice you slightly from the corner of his eyes as each day went by. At first, you sort of blended into the crowd in the sea of uniforms that was travelling around in the hallway, seeming to not want any attention from the teachers nor the students alike yet you seemed to somehow attract them leading you to offer the same small smile that he had somewhat gotten used to.
On the other hand, Fushiguro couldn’t help but get slightly annoyed at how your name was being called by the second, it was always “Y/N” this or “Y/N” that since you hated your last name being called. As in a matter of fact, he didn’t even have any acknowledgement or a hint of a clue of what your last name was at all. However, when you would say your name in your own tone, Fushiguro slowly began to notice how he then wouldn't get irritated causing a wave of confusion to hit him every time he would wonder why.
“Y/N, aren’t you going to participate in the elections for the student council, the teachers have nominated you?” one female student asked in a light tone causing Fushiguro to peak slightly over his arm as he was taking a nap for this lunch break, only to see you holding a book with a few other female students surrounding you.
“Nah, it’s such a drag...I don’t like taking responsibility for things,” you commented softly as you placed your thumb over the last word you were reading to keep a hold of your place causing the students around you to become confused before asking more questions causing some of your answers to perplex the erratic haired boy himself.
“I’m not good at organising things”
“I don’t have the time”
“I don’t like helping people”
“Liar,” Fushiguro muttered under his breath before closing his eyes again to fall into a quick nap while repeating the last words you had said to the students around you.
“I don’t like helping people”
If you really didn’t like helping people, then why did you help him a few weeks ago? As well as leaving some first aid kit items on his table at the end of lunch to restock shall he say? Sure, you had helped other people here and there from letting them copy your notes to little study sessions during lunch to help the other person concentrate but he was wondering why you would help a delinquent like him...but further yet, why didn’t you ask for anything in return.
“Y/N, I found you,” someone shouted, causing Fushiguro’s ears to spike up once he knew the familiar tone to the voice that decided to enter the conversation.
“I wanted to apologise for Megumi’s behaviour for the past weeks and wanted to pay you back for the medical items you had given him,” Tsumiki informed you causing Fushiguro to slowly open his eyes again to see Tsumiki’s arm outstretched with some cash within her palm while you looked down on at with a hint of disappointment in your face.
“Don’t bother your sister too much...okay?”
Placing your bookmark on the page you were on, you gently placed it down before folding Tsumiki’s fingers over the money she was kindly offering you as payment, leading her to give you a surprising expression since, with that action, she instantly knew you were declining.
“Don’t worry, you don’t have to repay me...Just take care of him, okay?” you mentioned with a soft tone before smiling up at your senior leading Fushiguro’s curiosity about you to heighten up even further than it was at the beginning.
“I don’t like helping people”
SAITAMA URAMI EAST JUNIOR HIGH - 2ND YEAR
Walking in the school hallways, Fushiguro couldn’t help but notice how the gloomy and mundane weather was reflecting everyone’s mood as it seemed as if everyone had a lack of energy this morning and to be honest, he couldn’t blame them one single bit.
It was the day after, Tsumiki decided to attempt the test of courage at Yasohachi Bridge causing her to become cursed as she fell into a sudden coma causing guilt to begin eating him almost wholly as he took each step in the hallway.
From what he recalled, Gojo had mentioned that Tsumiki was somewhat saved by a cursed technique leading her to not become physically injured at the attempt of jumping off, yet that didn’t save her from the curse that fell upon her since the lingering reverse cursed energy that was surrounding her body wasn’t enough or effective on her and the other students that decided to tag along with her leading him to wonder who was the person that tried to save his sister and her friends from that night.
Suddenly, Fushiguro heard something drop from behind causing him to turn his body completely, only to discover a fallen student leading him to widen his eyes on the sight before crouching down to check the pulse of the person only to discover that they were fine, as he then processed to turn his head to the side where more students from the classroom beside him began to drop one by one leading him to become more panicked since this was just the day after Tsumiki’s curse.
Unexpatantly, Fushiguro heard someone beginning to run towards his direction causing him to turn his head once again, only to find you running towards him with a somewhat worried expression on your face as you began to look at each classroom to see all the students within them passed out.
“Fushiguro!” you shouted in a panic leading him to quickly stand up on his feet as he reached out to you so he could rush you out of the school building to get you to Gojo to ensure your safety. If you were able to help him multiple times, maybe this time he could help you as his repayment.
Grabbing your hand, Fushiguro turned to his feet to begin running but for some reason, you weren’t running with him due to the halt of his movements when trying to pull you towards the exit of the school.
“Y/N, what are you doing? We got to run!” Fushiguro shouted in anger as he turned his head to face you eye to eye, only to come into eye contact with dark but glowing purple eyes causing his body to slowly become limp as his vision began to become gradually disorientated as an illusion of purple cherry blossoms began to fall around the both of you.
“Hakufuku”
Suddenly, Fushiguro began to lose his footing causing his body to quickly fall, only for you to catch him in your arms as you slowly lowered yourself to make sure his body didn’t harshly hit the floor due to any injuries he had gained from yesterday’s fight as you laid him on his side.
“Sorry, Fushiguro,” you whispered with a hint of regret before rapidly standing back up to run the other way which seemed towards the school’s computer’s system leading him slowly turn his head as he struggled to reach out towards your direction before the same arm dropped completely while his mind began to grow blank while your figure steadily disappeared from his sights while his memories of you began to gradually fade as he tried to maintain them with such difficulty.
“Y/N…”
THE DAY BEFORE THE MISSON
“You’ve been reading those books for quite some time, you know”
Turning your head away from the book placed upon your lap, you discovered Gojo in front of you with a teasing smile on his face as his body was leaning on the side of the doorway he had entered from.
“Well, there are quite a few to go through,” you muttered as you turned your head to the other side to see two piles of stacked up books that were somewhat in equal height right now with one pile of the books that you needed to read while the other was the books you had finished reading during the past weeks since you had moved into the Gojo’s clan estate.
From what you could recall the day you stepped foot into Gojo’s house, he had surprisingly guided you into a room that was filled with bookshelves that had books comfortably sitting in its place causing your eyes to widen at the sight only for him to inform you that all that books had belonged in your name.
“All of them belong to me?” you remembered asking leading your adoptive father to giggle slightly at your confused and flustered state as you began to roam around the pathway the bookshelves had given you, only to land on a particular shelf that had books written from your clan to which seemed to be addressed to you.
“I see you found the books, your mother was really smart to lock them and make sure you’re the only person who could read them,” Gojo mentioned to you when he had found you staring at them leading you to turn to him with a perplexed expression only for him to further explain that whenever he tried to touch the weathered spine of the book he would feel an invisible barrier blocking his movements and even when he attempted to use his infinity, there was no use.
However, when it was you, it just seemed like a normal book due to how easily you pull gently and carefully pull it out of the shelf and open it, only for Gojo to comment that all he could see what blank pages yet sense the linger cursed energy that was coming through the paper-based artefact. While on the other hand, you were able to view the elegant black brush strokes gracing the paper which was slightly confusing since you weren’t able to fully comprehend the poetic and outdated Japanese due to how influential the Chinese language was during the Heian era.
“I can’t believe you are technically older than me~” Gojo teased while wiping a fake tear from the corner of his eye, causing you to immediately snap out of your daydream to fully turn to him with a completely annoyed expression painted on your face.
“I DIDN’T AGE ONCE DURING MY SEALING, YOU DRAG!” you screamed in irritation causing the servant who was coming to serve you some tea to stumble slightly before regaining her balance as she let out a sigh of relief, leading you to deeply apologise to her before rushing up to your feet to help her on carrying the wooden, circular tea tray that she was holding on for you.
“I wish I got to see you grow into the woman that you are by the time you are reading this, but may you bloom into the sorcerer that you dream to be” - Your mother.
                                            ꕥ
“GOJO! GOJO!”
Slowly, from the loud shouting that was going on, you began to groan in annoyance while opening your eyes to find Itadori and Kugisaki kneeling in front of you with panicked expressions residing in their faces before steadily turning into relief once they noticed that you were smiling at them.
“Good job,” you whispered to them before resting your head back on the tree you were leaning on causing them to smile brightly back at you before high-fiving each other as they shouted on how relief they were as they already had a fright when they discovered Fushiguro laying on their ground before trying to find you.
“Did you collect the finger?” you questioned your classmates leading them to all freeze in a panic since they didn’t expect you to know about the issue with the special curse that was lingering within the domain that you were all previously in. As a matter of fact, you had already sensed it a few moments ago as well those three years back when you were in middle school.
“Ah...about that...Itadori ate it…” Fushiguro muttered in embarrassment, causing you to look at him with a blank stare before turning your head towards Itadori, who was now looking at you with a ‘trying to be innocent’ expression on his face as he scratched his cheek with his index finger.
“Sorry, Gojo...It was an accident,” Itadori stuttered in a light tone, while you continued to give him the blank expression before hitting his head with the handle of your katana causing him to hold the area while wincing in pain as you began to stand up on your feet.
“HEY! YOU FOUR!”
Due to the sudden shouting, everyone head’s to shot up to find Nitta screaming at you and your classmates from above while waving her fist in such an erratic way, trying to emphasise her anger to all of you at this current moment in time.
“What have you four been doing? You wouldn’t answer my calls!” Nitta yelled, causing her voice to echo throughout the entire area causing you to wonder if anyone had turned on their lights due to the loud interruptions from their sleep.
“Oh, Nitta-san,” Itadori called out in surprise as he stared up at the irritated woman.
“She’s lost it,” Kugisaki mentioned, as she too was observing the shouting fit that all four of you were enduring right now.
“Well, shall we go home?” Itadori asked as he turned around to face you, leading the other two first-years to turn to look at you as well causing your eyebrows to raise up
‘Ah...I guess I did think about running away for a second....’
“Yeah, let’s go home,” you answered back before beginning to walk forward leaving Itadori and Kugisaki to talk about having Spendud Sushi as dinner while Nitta was continuing to yell at all four of you from above.
“I know as time passes, the more the Earth will push its fangs upon your shoulder and it’s completely my fault and I deeply apologise from the bottom of my heart. I knew the day that I was blessed with you that I desired nothing more than to give you the easiest route away from all the troubles the Zenin clan had put on us, away from the Jujutsu world and away from the loneliness that you will come face to face once I and your father are gone. I adore you with all my heart and want nothing more than your heart to be blessed with trust, happiness and comfort. Wherever you are, just know that I will always look after you, no matter how long I have to wait, I will always be the mother that I wished I could be for you” - Your mother.
                                               ꕥ
“Why did you leave?”
Turning your head to the side, you found Fushiguro standing on the wooden terrace that you were sitting on with a stern look on his face while you just blinked at him before turning your head to face the garden with a book laying upon your lap as you tried a way to figure out how to bring up the topic that you tried to avoid since coming into acquaintance with the shikigami sorcerer.
“What do you mean?” you asked before closing the book in such a gentle manner, worried that you could damage more than it already was - even if it was such in a good condition after enduring itself for 1000 years.
“Why did you leave? Why did you erase my memory? Why did you go?” Fushiguro queried once again, as he decided to take a seat next to you causing anyone who would see both of you and Fushiguro to notice the contrast in your outfits. At this current moment in time, you were wearing a simple yukata due to being at Gojo’s estate - it was common/courtesy to wear traditional clothing - while Fushiguo was wearing a white jumper with what seemed to be black joggers along with some trainers causing you to come to the assumption that he had either can to talk to you or train with Gojo again like he did last time.
“I’m sorry Fushiguro...but I had to do it,” you answered before grabbing the cup of tea that was sitting right beside you as you then took a sip of the warm drink leading some of your nerves to calm down as you also took a deep breath.
“Why didn’t you stay?” Fushiguro questioned again in a low tone while staring down at the ground trying to compose himself as more memories of you began to steadily flow in.
“It was too risky,” you answered again as you continued to stare at the garden that was blooming in front of you before turning your head to look at your classmate, who seemed to be in deep thought about the response you had just given him.
“I never got to repay you back from the kindness you had given me,” Fushiguro mentioned as he turned his head up to look at you, only to make eye contact leading the memories of your technique to come into his mind.
“I don’t need a repayment, I just did what I wanted to help you,” you replied back as you placed your cup down onto the wooden tray before laying your upper body down on the terrace while your legs were handing off to the side causing your hair to splay across the wooden platform the both of you were sitting on right now.
“But you don’t like helping people,” Fushiguro quickly mentioned as he turned his head to face you, causing your eyes to move from the sky above you to the boy that was now looking at you with a somewhat small smile planted upon his face causing you to remember the conversation that you had with him and Kugisaki about not telling Itadori the reason why numerous amount of cursed fingers that have been popping up recently - making you come to the realisation that he was technically asking you and Kugisaki to help him keep the guilt away from the vessel of Sukuna himself.
“Yeah...I don’t like helping people,” you answered with the same smile as he was presenting you, causing a light giggle to arise from the both of you.
‘I’ll recommend them for a promotion later...’
“Whoever you fall for the sky for, my dear. I wish you nothing but the world’s blessing to fall upon the two of you. May all the flowers that come to bloom will bring you grace and tenderness that you deserve, the same feelings that I wish I could provide to you as a mother like how the sun gives you its warmth” - Your mother.

This plan has gone to crap!
It was supposed to be simple. Get into the command center, retrieve the necessary intel, and get out. Something you’ve done many times before. Piece of cake!
But last time you remembered, you did not have a child following you around. Omega insists on coming along, even going against Hunter’s orders. Because of her disregard of orders, she had tripped an alarm, alerting the guards to your position. But you couldn’t blame her. Even if she didn’t came along, something wasn’t going to go according to plan. She’s not a soldier and wasn’t trained like you and the rest of the Bad Batch. There were some tasks or missions that were fine for the young clone to come along, but this mission was more dangerous.
One good reason why; Crosshair had finally tracked you down.
The Batch had split up during the mission, aiming to complete your objectives. Before you can all regroup, that is when Crosshair and his Elite Squad Trooper caught up to the group. And you had the unfortunate case of protecting Omega from the sniper, who was now standing in front of you. With the only exit blocked by your former comrade, the only way to escape was to shoot your way out or leap out an 80 storied building.
“Crosshair, please! Don’t do this,” you pleaded, body shielding Omega as the young girl cowered behind you.
“I can bring you back alive,” The grey-haired clone spoke, raising his handheld blaster to your chest without hesitation. “Or in a body bag. Your choice, Freckles.”
You tense, staring down the barrel of the blaster, wondering for a second if it was put on lethal or stun mode. You felt Omega gripping your arm, sparing a glance at the child before looking back at Crosshair. His eyes held no remorse. There was no more warmth in those honey-brown eyes. Your heart shattered at the sight of him, your fists clenching to keep yourself composed.
“This isn’t you, Crosshair. That damn chip is manipulating you!” You snapped, keeping your stance and hoping to buy some time for Hunter and the others to assist you.
“You would have never shot Wrecker before, no matter how much he annoyed you. And you would never point a gun at me. Come back to us. We can find a way to free you from that chip. We know it’s not your fault, and we don’t blame you for your actions. Please,” you begged, your voice breaking a little as you reached your hand towards him.
The clone stared hard at your hand, his shoulders tensed before locking eyes with yours. He can see the desperation in them, unshed tears causing your eyes to glisten. This was a familiar sight. Not too long ago, when all of you were imprisoned back on Kamino, you had the same expression.
Crosshair was being taken away from the rest of the group for unknown reasons. Hunter, in his attempt to keep everyone together, received a harsh hit on his gut. The sergeant doubled over in pain, but no one dare moved to aid him as blasters were pointed at everyone. The clone shook his head at the sight of his sergeant before standing up. As he took one step forward, he felt a tug, keeping him in place. Looking back, he saw you gripping his hand with all the strength you have.
You were looking up at him, silently begging him not to go. The corner of your eyes shedding small tears, your hand squeezing his ever so tighter.
“Let’s go!” The clone guard exclaimed, his patience wearing thin.
Crosshair felt something foreign in him, telling him to obey. He knows that he should stay. He knows that he should fight against these mindless regs. He’s not like them. He belongs here with his brothers, and with you.
But, fighting the regs unarmed will just cause unnecessary casualties. And he can’t stand the idea of having his brothers’ blood on his hands. Especially a kid that is apparently a little sister. And you.
The thought of losing you caused him to shiver in fear. An emotion that he rarely felt, until you joined the team.
The sniper looked back at you once more, squeezing your hand in return. He gave you a reassuring look that was also apologetic and sorrowful.
You knew that there was no getting out of this. That there was no way in saving him. With a heavy sob, you let go of his hand, allowing him to be taken by the guards.
His hands were now trembling, causing the blaster to become unsteady. “Crosshair?” You said with uncertainty. The sniper’s eyes snapped back at you, having lost focus for a few seconds.
“So, you miss me? How sweet,” he sneered, but his hands continued to shake.
You relaxed your posture for a second, pulling your hand back before pressing it against your chest, right over your heart. “I have. So very much.”
Something must have snapped inside of the clone because his eyes became unfocused, and his hands were trembling harder. He was in pain, his free hand gripping the side of his head, eyes squeezing shut as the blaster fell from his hand. You watched as Crosshair internally fought against the inhibitor chip, hope slowly rising inside of you.
As you slowly approached him, you failed to hear the thundering sound of boots approaching you. The only indication that you got was hearing Omega gasping before shouting, “Look out!”
The moment you spotted the Elite Squad Trooper raising his blaster, you felt the searing hot pain piercing your side, and a blood-curling scream echoed throughout the room. You fell to your knees, clutching your left side, where the blaster shot hit you.
Luckily, you were wearing the specialized armor that the Bad Batch wear, so the blast wasn’t able to pierce the other side. But you can feel blood pooling out, and if you don’t get any aid soon, you’re going to die.
Before the trooper can shoot you again, he let out a shout of pain as Crosshair’s fist collided with his buckethead before punching his gut. “I told you to stun the woman and to shoot the men!” He snarled before kicking the hunched-over trooper.
As Crosshair’s attention was on the reg, Omega rushed to your side. Panting heavily, you grabbed a tool from your utility belt and wrapped an arm around the girl’s midsection. “Hold on...tight...and whatever...you do...don’t let go.”
“What are you---whoa!” Omega cried out as you picked her up and charged at the window. The girl screamed when your shoulder crashed into the window, both of you plummeting over the edge. Neither Crosshair nor the troopers reacted quick enough to catch you, watching the both of you fall to what appears to be your death.
You reached out your arm, pointing your modified grappling gun, and pulled the trigger. The claw-like end soar shot through the air, piercing the closes building, secured in place. The pair of you swing through the cold night air, Omega’s arms and legs wrapped around your neck and waist.
Before you could crash into another building, you released the trigger, the grapple unhooking from your end. You rolled onto the rooftop of a building, shielding Omega in the progress. Wincing, you got back on your feet, still holding onto the child, and continued to run away, troopers now shooting at you.
“Tech! I need a pickup, NOW!” You exclaimed into your communicator.
“We’re reaching your location!” His voice came through, and without another second to waste, you heard the engines of the Havoc Marauder. The ramp was open and both Hunter and Wrecker were there.
Despite the searing pain, your adrenaline forced you to pick up the pace. Blaster shots were flying past you, and if you move any slower, you were going to get hit again. But you weren’t scared of being hit by the Elite Squad trooper again. No. You were afraid of a certain sniper. Deep down though, you had hope that he wasn’t going to pull the trigger on you. He had several chances to do so, but he didn’t.
“Jump!” Hunter shouted as you reached the edge of the building. Mustering whatever strength you had left, you leaped from the edge, Omega’s arms reaching towards the Sergeant and larger clone. You collapsed into their arms, letting them pull you both inside as blasters were now hitting your ship.
“She’s been shot!” Omega cried. Hunter and Wrecker saw your bleeding side, and with a nod from their leader, Wrecker picked you up as carefully as possible and carried you to your cot. “Echo, get over here now!” Hunter shouted before grabbing whatever medical items that they need.
Your armor was removed and Wrecker ripped the fabric of your blacks to expose your wound, allowing the boys to stop the bleeding. You cried out in pain, legs kicking and your hand gripping the first thing that came into contact, which was Hunter’s hand.
“You’re gonna be okay,” Echo reassured as they pierced a needle into your wound before spraying it with bacta. Omega stood at the doorway, hands covering her mouth, silently crying as the boys managed to stop the bleeding. Despite being their combat medic, the Bad Batch knew a good amount of medical aid before you arrived, but learned more when you became part of their team.
“I can’t believe Crosshair shot her!” Wrecker growled as Echo placed a bacta patch to help quicken the healing progress.
“I don’t want to believe either. But he shot you, didn’t he?” Echo countered.
“He...he didn’t shot me,” you groaned, your hand squeezing Hunter’s.
“Whoa whoa whoa, no more talking. You need your rest, Freckles,” the Sergeant said, using his free hand to gently wipe off any sweat forming on your forehead.
You ignored Hunter’s order and took in a deep breath before continuing. “It was a...trooper. Crosshair said...only to stun me and Omega...” You then looked back at Hunter, body feeling weak and vision getting blurry. “He’s still in there...fighting to come back....we can’t lose hope.” You managed to say that last bit before darkness consumed you. You slumped against the pillow, a familiar scent comforting you as you slept.
The group watched you sleep, ensuring that you were okay before relaxing. Hunter slowly slipping his hand from your grasp before covering you with a blanket, Crosshair’s scent continued to engulf you.
“We will bring him home. I promise.”

~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Being an Avenger required a lot of skills. Practical, physical and mental. You excelled at most of it, your life and that of your teams depended on it. But you had a tendency to let personal matters get in the way.
You weren't the only one guilty of that. You were pretty sure you could name a time it had happened to everyone on the team at some point.
But you and Wanda were much more liable to let that get in the way than the others. You had both made a couple of bad decisions in the past to protect one another's safety. It was hard to control. Your first instinct would always be to protect your girlfriend, as was hers for you.
That was when things were good between you. Things being bad was a new concept, especially the way it affected a mission.
"Clear on the fourth floor C corridor." Wanda said through the comms. You jaw clenched tightly as you withheld the urge to role your eyes.
"I just confirmed that, Maximoff." You said back. Wanda didn't respond to that, not that you expected her to.
You were both working your way up a building that Hydra agents were supposed to be hiding out in. Wanda took the left side and you took the right, there were times where you met in the middle with no exchange of words.
"Thanks anyway, Wanda." Natasha said in an attempt to ease the obvious tension.
You continued to up the stairs to the next floor and tried not to think about the fight you had had the night before. It was a blur the next day, the reason it all started was unknown to you both. You had both been in a bad mood and things had soon escalated...badly. You had both said hurtful things, things you wished you could take back more than anything. The pair of you had formed a habit of giving each other space before apologising, but you had been forced together on the spontaneous mission that has thrown you both off, even more so by the fight being the worst one you two had ever had in your four years of dating. You had no idea where you stood with Wanda.
When you arrived in the center of the fifth floor you and Wanda rounded opposite corners into the main hallway at the same time. You paused when you saw her, she did too.
You were about to say something to her. Something that wasn't bitter or tense. You had the sudden urge to spill out an apology but she spoke first.
"Clear on the fifth floor corridor A." She didn't spare you a second glance, continuing through the building. You nodded to no one and hastily blinked back the tear that threatened to spill.
Focus on the mission. Focus on the mission. Well you didn't have much luck doing that.
"Going on to the next floor." You said steadily. You hadn't done a proper sweep of the floor, but nothing in the building showed any signs of people being there and you needed to put more distance between yourself and Wanda.
You should have waited for her. You knew that. She knew that. No one protested.
As soon as you were on the second floor you let your guard down and leant against a wall to take a moment to gather your thoughts. That was a mistake. A significant one.
You weren't in the right head space for that mission. That become so much more apparent when you when two bullets hit you.
Whether it was shock, panic, being distracted or a most likely combination of all three, you barely registered the first bullet. You saw who shot it though. One single Hydra agent who made a break for the exit behind you.
Just as you raised your gun to fire the second bullet hit you and sent you falling to the ground. You registered him jumping over your immobile body towards the stairs but before he could put one foot on them red swirls surrounded his body and threw him against the wall, knocking him out cold.
Wanda emerged from the hallway and skidded slightly in panic as she stopped to turn your way. Her eyes widened at the sight of the blood covering your clothes and hands. You were shaking violently while trying to put pressure on the wounds, but you didn't know where exactly they were. You couldn't feel any pain. Just numbness. And that was terrifying.
"You...no, fuck. M-medical assistance- now. Y/n's...been shot." Wanda stammered in panic as she knelt down beside you.
Natasha was giving Wanda instructions but you weren't paying attention to anything except your girlfriend.
"It's...okay." You struggled to say. Your breathing was laboured and speaking was even harder. The distinct taste of blood was in your mouth but you had to ignore that.
"I shouldn't have let you come up here alone." Wanda scolded, tears trailing down her cheeks as she found the two wounds. She ripped some fabric from her shirt into two pieces and held them against your stomach.
"I probably...would have...bitten your head...of if...you tried to." You laughed, instantly regretting it as pain shot through you. The shock was wearing off and the pain was taking its place in the most unmerciful way.
Tears fell from your eyes and your head fell back against the hard ground as you gasped, struggling for air. Wanda moved behind you and placed your head in her lap while she continued to apply pressure.
"I'm sorry." Your voice broke as you spoke. "I'm... so sorry for...last night." Wanda instantly shushed you and shook her head. Her left hand stayed on your stomach and her right combed through your hair to calm you.
"We both said bad things."
"I didn't...mean it...any of it." You tried to lock eyes with Wanda through your tears.
"Neither did I, we'll talk about this when you're better." Wanda promised, nodding her head to assure herself that you would be fine.
But just as she said that it became increasingly difficult to stay conscious. It was as though there was something in the dark calling to you, urging you to let go. It would be so easy. There would be no pain. But Wanda wouldn't be there.
You put your hand weakly over hers, wanting her to be the only thing on your mind incase it was the last. The feel of her skin against your own, her soothing voice and the accent she tried to conceal but you loved, the way she cared for you like no one else ever had. The thought that you may never experience that again made your heart drop.
The shaking was getting worse and you felt so cold.
Go to the dark. Don't go to the dark. So easy. No Wanda...Wanda.
You couldn't help it. You couldn't stop it. It washed our you like a wave. The sounds around you became distant, as though everything was far away. You couldn't make out what Wanda was saying. She sounded desperate. You couldn't see her either. Everything was blurred. Then it was all gone.
*
The recurring beeping from the monitor was the only sound in the room. Wanda had always thought she would find them annoying, but the Sokovian never wanted to hear it stop. Not until you didn't need it anymore. Until she didn't need it.
It had been a week since you were shot. A week since she had seen your bright y/e/c eyes. The doctors were skeptical. Wanda vaguely remembered them talking to her about your injuries, the severity of them and how they would effect you if you woke up. Once you woke up. They said it was a slim chance.
Wanda sat curled up in the chair next to your bed watching you, wondering if it felt peaceful to be in that state. She wore your favourite hoodie and had a blanket from your shared bed over her, it was the only thing that brought her comfort.
"Wake up, y/n." She whispered, as though trying to secretly communicate with you. "Please." She raised her voice slightly, thinking it could make a difference. It didn't.
"Y/n." She leant forward in her chair and took both of your hands in her own. All she had been able to think about was your fight. It had been stupid, so so stupid. You hadn't fixed it, not properly. Wanda needed more than than the brief moments on the mission. She didn't get to apologise. She couldn't let you go before she got to apologise. She had done it over and over to your sleeping form. But it didn't count. She needed you to wake up. To look at her again. To smile. To speak. To go on another date. To share another kiss. To sleep in the same bed...to get married. There was so much left to do. Wanda wasn't prepared for it to be cut short. It wasn't fair.
"Y/n please wake up. I'm so sorry." She pleaded as she gripped your hands like a lifeline. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she pleaded over and over.
"Wake up, dammit!"
*
When your eyes finally flickered open you shut them again instantly. It was bright, far too bright. You gave a soft groan at that and tried to shield your face with your hand but found no energy to do so.
Your throat was dry and scratchy and your eyes were stinging from the exposure to the light.
You became aware of the beeping and glanced at the monitor as you tried to adjust to your surroundings, taking a for moments to remember how and why you were even in a hospital bed.
In the corner of your eye you saw movement on your left. You slowly turned your head in that direction and had your breath caught in your throat at the sight of your sleeping girlfriend. Was she still your girlfriend? Your heart dropped at the possibility that she might not be, but you hastily pushed it to the side and appreciated her company.
You had missed her. You had no idea how long you had been out. You had no memory of what it was like. All you knew was the familiar feeling of coming home deep in your chest.
Wanda's slim hand was resting on the bed next to yours and out of pure instinct you laced your fingers through her own, still unable to get over how perfectly they felt entwined together. Would she pull her hand away when she woke up? Would she shout at you more?
Fortunately you didn't have to wait long to find out. Wanda stirred from her uncomfortable looking position on the chair and blinked a few times before her eyes fell to your hands.
She furrowed her brows in confusion at the sight, not remembering putting them together but one look up told her all she needed to know.
"Y/n." She said as a sigh of relief, sitting up straight and gleaming at you.
"Wanda." You croaked with a weak but genuine smile. She picked up on that and with one flick of her tinted red wrist a small cup of water came floating towards you.
"Thank you." You said gratefully and took the cup with your free hand, wanting to hold Wanda's for as long as you could. You gulped the water down quickly and placed it on the bed side table before looking back at Wanda.
"You scared me." She admitted, concern prominent in her shimmering eyes.
"I'm sorry." She shook her head and was quick to speak.
"No, no more apologies from you. I'm sorry. For everything. I-" You cut her off by placing a finger to her lips with a smile.
"Stop."
"I really am though." You knew that, you could see it.
"I know you are." You said genuinely. "And I am too. I don't even know how it..." You trailed off as you opened and closed your mouth, not knowing what you were even trying to say. Wanda laughed and nodded, you had missed that sound so much.
"Are we...are we okay?" You asked timidly, fearing the response so much you couldn't look her in the eyes, only staring at your entwined hands.
Wanda lifted your chin with one of her fingers, wanting you to look at her as you spoke. Her warm smile greeted you like a treasured friend.
"We are. And I'm going to spend the rest of my life making it up to you."
"Well then that's going to get confusing really quickly because I'll be doing the exact same." You declared. Wanda laughed again and brought your hands up to her lips to place a soft kiss on them. A smile spread easily across your face at the gesture.
"Come here." You muttered as you moved over to the edge of the bed and pulled the duvet back for your girlfriend.
She eagerly accepted the offer and slipped in beside you, instantly wrapping her free arm around you to bring you close while her other still held your hand.
"I love you." She whispered as she kissed your forehead.
"I love you too." You smiled and held onto her loose clothing and...how the hell did you miss that? "Is that my hoodie?"

Word: 2k

You first saw him in the multi-purpose room. Later learn his name, and on your third year, as he becomes your neighbor, you discover his lifestyle. Knowing your crush on him was nothing but that, you wanted to find the courage to look for love. Asking your friend for help, you’re pointed in the direction of the expert. Your neighbor, Min Yoongi
Chapter Index
Tumblr media
You’re not sure how long you’ve been on the bus, but you know it’s been long enough when the driver stops and tells you it’s his last stop. You look at him then out the window onto an unknown location. You get up from your seat, grabbing your belongings, but there’s nothing to grab.
When did you drop your backpack? Did Ari grab it? Where are you?
You exit the bus, mumbling a “thank you” to the driver before stepping onto the sidewalk, eyes scanning the area around you. You’re standing in front of a bank that is closed, the lights inside showing an empty building. On the right side of the bank is a diner that’s still open, its neon pink lights shining brightly in the night sky, telling you it’s your shelter until you can get back to the dorms.
Pulling out your phone from your pocket—grateful you managed to take it with you, you unlock the screen, go to your contacts, and click on Ari’s contact, the phone dialing her number. It only takes a few rings before you hear Ari’s frantic voice.
“Y/N? Where are you? Are you all right?”
Just the sound of her voice breaks you. You let out a quiet sob, your head dropping as you tell her, “I messed up, Ari. I should have let him tell his side of the story—I shouldn’t have said those mean things to him, but he loves her.” You hiccup. “She’s his first love and I wouldn’t blame him if he wanted her back, but I don’t want that. I don’t know what to do.”
“Y/N…” Ari sighs. “Where are you?” Your eyes scan up and down the street until you find a street sign, telling her where you are before she adds, “I’m heading over now. Get some dinner while you wait.”
Ending your call, you wipe away your tears, and make your way towards the building. You enter the somewhat empty diner, the waitresses scurrying back and forth with orders, coffee for the late night drivers, and everything else. Looking along the booths, you take an empty table towards the middle.
What is going on? What’s going to happen tomorrow? Is it all over?
You almost break down again, but a hot cup of what smells like hot chocolate is placed in front of you. You look up to see an elderly woman looking down at you with a warm smile on her face. “You look tired, sweetie.”
You give her a weak smile as you answer, “I’m very tired.”
“Long day at school?” Blowing at the hot liquid, you nod before taking a small sip. It’d be easier to tell her it’s school rather than a boy. “The hot chocolate is on the house. Can I get you anything else?”
“We’ll have two orders of chicken strips,” you hear Ari say in your place, your eyes traveling from the elderly woman to your best friend who just entered the diner and takes a seat across from you. “To-go please.”
“Got it, sugar.” The waitress leaves you two and heads towards the counter.
“You got here so fast,” you comment, surprised to see her already even though the two of you got off the phone less than five minutes ago.
“I was already looking for you. When you called, it turns out I was only down the street,” Ari tells you, resting her elbows on the table, leaning forward just a bit. “Now there’s a lot that happened today, Y/N. I’m not going to tell you what you should and should not do because it’s all up for you to decide. The only thing I’m going to tell you is to process everything.”
You sigh in response, resting your head in your hands. “That’s a lot to process,” you confess. “Walking in on your boyfriend kissing his ex is not what anyone would expect.” You wipe at your eyes, realizing tears are forming again. “Dating someone who has a reputation of sleeping with people—I can’t believe I told him that.” Everything you told him comes flooding back to you.
You feel guilty. Angry. Confused.
“Talk to him. Tell him everything you’re feeling and just see what happens,” she tells you, her tone sounding encouraging. “Just talk to him, Y/N. When you’re ready,” she adds.
You nod, wiping your eyes again before looking up to her. “Let’s talk about something else,” you say, hoping she can easily change the subject. Distract you from everything.
“When we get to the dorm, let’s watch that new movie I was talking about. I bought a projector, so we can watch it on an even bigger screen,” she tells you, clearly happy to have bought the projector just for watching movies more comfortably.
You let out a tired laugh. “We should get shakes, too, while we’re here.”
Ari grins. “That’s my girl.”
It takes ten minutes for everything to be in your possession. Ari pays mainly because you left your money in your backpack, but you promised to pay her back. She argues with you that you’re not going to, but you’re persistent in paying for your half.
A short ride later, you’re sitting comfortably in your bed with your food displayed in front of you. A blue screen is projected on the white wall above the mirror closet while Ari gets her phone connected to start the movie. It takes her a few minutes, but she finally got the movie playing and food is being devoured almost immediately.
Today is a lot to handle, but tomorrow you’ll talk to him and get the answers you deserve.

You’ve never avoided Yoongi so much like you have now. You told yourself that you would talk to him the next day, but the second you open your door, he opens his and you immediately close your door. It might not have even been Yoongi, but you didn’t want to take that chance to see.
It seems like you’re not ready. You’re not ready for his answer, or for your embarrassment if it really is a misunderstanding. You’re just not ready, and you wonder if you’ll ever be ready. You can’t drag it on like this, but you want to take all the time you need to find that courage to face him.
You’re a mess. Plain and simple your head is a mess and your emotions are definitely a mess.
“That’s all for today,” your professor tells you, interrupting you from your thoughts. Grabbing your belongings, you place them in your backpack, get up from your seat, and follow your classmates out the door.
You make your way out of the department building and head up the sidewalk towards the higher grounds of campus. Your next class starts in fifteen minutes, and it only takes you about a minute to get from point A to point B, but you just want to take a seat and just focus on anything that isn’t your problem.
You round the corner of the building where your next class is. Off into the distance is the bus stop where a bus comes to a stop, the doors opening and people exiting the vehicle. You reach your classroom door when you see her. She’s stepping off the bus, laughing at something someone said. She looks so carefree and unbothered while you’re dying on the inside.
Why?
Why is she so calm and happy about all this while you’re the one he’s dating? She’s the one who ruined everything. She’s the one who can’t keep her hands and mouth to herself. She’s the one—what if he called her over?
What if he wanted it just as much as she did? What do you do about that? What if you’re still the distraction, or the bait and Sam happened to fall for it and want him back just as much as he’s wanted her since they broke up? What if you mean absolutely nothing to him?
Sam is long gone from your sights, but her smile is imprinted in your thoughts. You want to cry again. You want to cry so badly.
Screw class. You just want to go back into bed and forget this ever happened. Forget you ever met him or her. You walk past the classroom door and head towards the bus stop Sam had just left. Maybe luck is blessing you this once because your bus pulls to a stop just as you reach the sidewalk. You pull out your card, enter the bus, and after hearing the familiar beep you make your way down the aisle and take a seat near the back door.
A few seconds later the doors close and the bus takes off. You stare out the window trying to think of anything that isn’t Yoongi or Sam, but your thoughts are fragile. There’s nothing to think about when their presence is so strong and you don’t have the strength to push them out of your thoughts. So, you close your eyes and open them every now and then to make sure you don’t miss your stop.
When the bus comes to a stop at the back of the dorm building, you thank the driver as you get off. The gate opens as a car leaves the parking lot, blessing you again with luck so that you don’t have to struggle with the door. You take your trip across the back parking lot and up the stairs to your floor. Pressing your ID to the scanner, the door opens automatically, the hall empty as you enter.
You can’t wait to take off your shoes, toss your backpack somewhere where you can’t see it, lie in bed and take the biggest nap of your life. By the time you wake up, Ari should be back by then and the two of you can go grab dinner with Hoseok if he’s free. Just a nice, relaxing rest of the day. When you enter your room, you toss your backpack and shoes, change your clothes into something more comfortable and lie in bed. It honestly feels like seconds before you fall asleep. Seems like you’re way more tired than you thought.
When you wake up, it’s not because Ari just came in like you thought. You wake up on your own, surprised to see that light in the room has dimmed to a pink hue. How long have you been sleeping? It was only supposed to be an hour max. Your hands roam around on your bed for a few moments before you feel your phone. Tapping the screen, the clock on the screen tells you that you’ve been asleep for around three hours. You’re surprised to have slept for so long, but you’re also surprised to not see Ari in the room.
Sending her a quick text, you climb out of bed and slip on your shoes. You use the restroom, wash your face to wake you up, and grab your ID along with your phone and make your way out of your room. You’re hungry and Ari may be eating with Hoseok on campus or something, so you’re on your own. Thankfully you can just grab your food to-go and come back to your room where you can watch something on your computer and enjoy your food.
When you open the door, his door has just closed with him standing in front of it. The two of you make eye contact. You’re frozen in place, heart racing and thoughts in a haze as the two of you stare at one another in silence. He says nothing and neither do you. He looks tired, but that’s all you can read. His expression is empty. Like it’s always been when you first met him. It’s hard to read him, and that only makes you angry. What is he thinking? Is he hurt like you? Does he care?
The gaze feels like forever but it’s only a few seconds, and just like that, Yoongi makes his way towards the staircase. Saying nothing to you.
You don’t leave your room after that. You just close your door, lie back in bed, and text your roommate to buy you food. It seems like his mind is made up.
Now all you have to do is make up your own and move on.

⚠️Warning: Talks of abortion, violence⚠️
Note: This is my second attempt at a Royal AU series. Inspired by Roo’s work. Don’t want to tag her to my garbage LOL... Not the best here at world building, but like i think i’m getting better each time. Any critiques are WELCOME.
Summery: Loki has a plan to be King.
Dark Loki x Black Reader, Royal AU
Chapter 1, Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Today the palace was a buzz with festivities. His royal highness Stark decided on a whim to throw a celebration yet again. The occasion you couldn't recall as he had thrown so many just this month.
*Boom
The commotion outside was loud and eventful. King Stark's lavish party had no doubt gone out of control again. You remembered one evening the royal court drunkenly shot cannons into the royal shire using the sheep and cattle as targets. Scaring half the Kingdom into thinking it had come under siege.
Though something seemed very different then the sounds that you were accustom to.
*Boom
There was a faint whistle in the distance and crashing sounds. Suddenly the chamber shook and the walls rattled. Crumbs of ceiling splintered and bits trickled down leaving dust to coat the hall.
You were on your way back to the chamber with fresh sheets and   a canter of fresh water when you heard  struggling. The muffled cries of your mother bellowed out through the cracked door.
Peering in you see two men, one holding her in a choke hold while the other stood in front blocking your view and watched. Their armor unfamiliar to you, you watch them frozen in horror.
----
Your mother let out a loud shriek followed by a gurgling that decreased in volume the longer it went on. The man blocking your view stepped back that's when you saw it. Your mother's body hit the floor with a thud, her throat sliced open blood pooling on the floor around them all.
"Where is the younger one? There should've been two"
"We need her alive" the other said as he sheathed his blade.
Dropping everything a loud clanging drew their attention, turning away you ran down the corridor.
Immediately you were met with another body. Crashing into it, his arms secured you in place as you shrieked and screamed. In your frenzy you looked at him and to your relief when you saw Barron Obadiah, an alley to the crown.
"M-men your lordship...S-strange men have killed m-my m-mother" you sob out.
---
"Shit that bastard! Come with me." Obadiah ordered, wrenching your arm he dragged you through the hall. His touch pained your forearm, but it was a pain you would great-fully bare to escape those men.
There was a frenzy of servants running up and down the halls. Screams and the strong stench of smoke enveloped in every direction. You looked to him for answers when he stopped to survey a corner hall, but he said nothing then tread onward.
You were scared. The castle rocked and shivered. He marched you down the hall. Mail clinked and clacked from all around along with the familiar smell of copper. Known to you to be most definitely blood.
Was the kingdom was truly under siege?
*Boom
An explosion raddled the walls with such force that Obadiah almost fell to the floor taking you with him. Luckily he caught himself on a wall and hurried through the crumbling castle.
You could feel the birth of a bruise under the stead fast grip of Barron Obadiah. The pain mixed with the clouded air irritated your eyes and filled you will nausea and dizziness.
"You brainless cow hurry!" he barked at you.
He sprinted and turned down so many hallways you found yourself lost despite your tenure. Obadiah suddenly stopped short of a door, opening it thrusting you inside. Latching it closed behind himself. The room was spars, nothing but a table and map tapestries. The far wall held a Stark banner. He made his way to it moving the banner aside revealing a door. He passed through first and you followed after. The dimly lit passage whined down in a spiral pattern.
There was a dim light that grew the closer down you went. You huffed and panted with every step and he cursed your sluggishness. The ruckus could only faintly be heard the further down you went. You were a sweaty mess by the time you reached the last rung of the stone steps.
The stairwell turned into a narrow hall. Awaiting at the end of it a meek fellow with a horse drawn two wheeled cart.
You looked at Obadiah confused as to what was to transpire here. He sprinted down the corridor so fast that you would have found it humorous if you weren't so scared and confused. He reached the  man and by the flailing of his arms you knew it could not be good.
Why was he yelling at this man? What was going on? Was he to ride in this meek two wheeled cart? Would he make you walk behind the it?
You could barely keep pace with him doubtful you could keep step with a mare. This whole thing was preposterous.
After the barrage of insults the man walked to the back of the cart and lifted the tarp. The cart was filled with barrels.
Obadiah called your name as he marched over to you.
"The castle is under siege we must hurry" he said flatly. There was no time for questions and even if you asked you doubt he would’ve answered.
"Keep your head down and follow close behind him. Do you understand." He barked as he loaded himself onto the cart.
Looking at him worried, you trembled as you shook 'Yes'. "As soon as you see the docks I want you to knock on this barrel." You watched as he pointed. The owner of the cart tossed the tarp over Obadiah once he seated himself. His broad frame mirroring one of the many barrels in the cart.
---
You were not royalty, but your clothes where of the royal brand. Even to the untrained eye you would surely be seen as a royal slave. Walking with this man would've been out of place. With the madness going on about the kingdom you only hoped that the invaders cared not for slaves.
The stranger said nothing, only leading his mare by its reigns. You lowered your head and followed behind him.
Quietly he marched past the markets and crumbled houses. The reign of Stark was coming to an end. There was fire and destruction everywhere. Blood painted the streets. Unfamiliar banners flew through the air.
The city was burning.
You kept your head down as the man lead his horse through town toward the gate. How the horse did not become skittish or fazed by the carnage was an amazement.
"AAAAAHHHHH" a man's screamed out. Your head sought to find its owner. Feet from you an unfamiliar soldier of Stark's lay as you cross the gates out of the Royal court. His throat slashed, convulsing on his own blood as he choked it up.
You trembled at the sight of it all. More horses with strange banners flew past. Wringing your hands in your chest you said a silent prayer for safe passage.
The kingdom did not reside too far from the docks. Eventually the smell of the salty sea mixed with the smokey air. When the docks finally where in your line of sight you knocked the barrels.
As you approached you could see a soldier posted up at the entry way to the docking ships.
"Oye cargo for the Laufeyson" the meek man announced.
The soldier was covered in armor, but it was not embroider with the logos you had seen about your kingdom. He grunted then side-stepped letting him pass.
The owner of the cart walked straight to a bridge leading up to a massive ship. Lifting the lid Obadiah exited. He handed the man a satchel and sent him on his way.
When you looked back at the horizon it looked as if the sun had set upon the town. The fire was so bright you were sure nothing could survive it.
"Do not dawdle" he grumbled. You kept your head low and followed him up the gangway.
---
As you two boarded the ship a crewman appeared on the deck. He called to Obadiah and beckoned him to follow. Leading you both through the ship, he stopped short of a massive open door.
Obadiah walked through with you following close behind. The crewman did not enter the room only retreating from which he came.
To the north of the room a wall made of windows, but with the  moon already high, it offered barely any light. A thick melting candle added to the illumination. It flickered slightly from the air that seeped through the walls.
The candle planted on a table in the middle of the room and sat at it a man unknown to you. His garb was unlike any you've seen before. His pulchritudinous had you almost breathless.
---
"Prince Loki! I see the sea hath treated you well."  Obadiah's voice boomed. At the mention of his title your eyes widen and you bow sharply, praying that he would not find insult in your insolence.
"Ah yes the Lord doth bless us with a safe passage. And howbeit your journey through this perilous night?" He spoke. The foreign intonation sent an unfamiliar heat within you.
"It was a trip taken sooner then expected" his annoyance shown through every word as he marched to the table.
"We agreed to wait did we not? So why pray tell do I find myself blind sided by your recklessness? I barely escaped with clothes on my back" he spat out.
Obadiah snarkiness didn’t go unnoticed. Through your lashes you caught the slightest tick of the Prince's eye.
If Barron Obadiah had been a servant surely he would have been laid out on the floor. Beaten within an inch of his life for such insolence. But he was so unaware of himself due to Stark’s own lax policies.
"I do apologize my brother is quite unalienable when it comes to war. His spontaneity is one of which I can not control. Your life should suffice for now surely." He quipped, but there was something to his tone that sent your nerves awry.
You could feel Obadiah control his ire a sight you were accustom to when he talked to King Stark.
"Let us partake in some wine and toast to officially solidify our alliance" The prince suggested. Barron Obadiah took his place at the wooden table across him.
The Barron had a hand in treason. Would you be fated to treason too?
"Maid do you forget your duties?" The prince called out to you.
You had forgot yourself, but how could you not. This was not your Prince, from what you knew this was not your king's ship. But you were being made to serve a traitor and the invaders royalty.
Looking about the room, wooden cabinets were built into the east walls. In your unfamiliar surroundings you prayed as you rushed to them, hoping to find something.
Opening the higher doors first you find chalices set atop a shelf and a decanter. Grabbing two and the wine you bring them over to the table you place them in front of the men. Shakily you pour in both cups to their fill and set back against the wall.
"To small victories" they rose their goblets and drank.
----
When he gulped down the wine Obadiah winced and shot up to his feet. Dropping his goblet to the floor, clawing at his neck as if to rip out the contents.
You looked at him in horror. Then your eyes sought Prince Loki for guidance, but his reaction was not what you expected. A smile was adorned on his face so pleased and joyous of the sight.
Baron Obadiah dropped to the ground foaming, spasming, puking and turning colors. Loki continued drinking his wine unfazed.
"You bastard!" Obadiah choked out as bile spilled from him.
You stepped back when Barron Obadiah's arm reached out to your skirt. His fingers barely missing the hem of your dress. The sight horrified you as he convulsed. When his gasping stopped you knew he was for the worms now.
Would whatever had bewitched him would possessed you too?
"Right" The Prince leered at you as you pressed yourself into the wall. You were normally slow, but this was quick to put together. It was his doing.
This must’ve been some test of loyalty to the crown you thought to yourself. Now because you escaped with Obadiah you would be seen as a traitor too. Even if you tried to explain your innocence, you doubted highly that the Prince would believe a slave.
Looking at the now dead Obadiah then to Prince Loki, you knew what was next. Death. Clasping your hands you fell to your knees, squeezing your eyes closed tight. You spoke your last rights to which ever god that would hear it. You were no fool. Begging would be pointless you rather speak to the gods to grant you safe passage to the next world.
"I do say dear that prayers like that would have you condemn as a heretic" he admonished as tears streamed down your face.
---
You could not hear him. You continued to pray.
Let it be swift. Let it not hurt. Forgiveness please I beg of thee.
Hoping against hope that this would wash away all your sins as tears burst through your tightened lids.
"It is said that Stark despite his rumored infidelity never had a whisper of a bastard." He recalled as he took a sip from his cup. The mention of a bastard broke through your prayers. A sudden sense of nausea bubbled up within you.
"Then... At my brothers wedding to your princess, our then queen, your king's lips became loose as the wine flowed through the night." As he spoke you looked up at him through your clasped hands. Your prayers lowered to a meager whisper so that you could hear him.
You swallowed deeply. You knew exactly what he was getting at. Your hands drop to your side and you quieted yourself. His steely eyes staring into your soul. He knew what you were and what you did.
Were you being brought to the high church? Why would a Prince be labored with such a task? Was the church the cause for the anarchy tonight?
To be brought before the high church meant death, that one should never wish upon any enemy. You had seen the burnings before, the screams of the unholy, the sounds of which would visited you at night. The way the writhed in agony as the flames lapped their flesh.
Looking over to the Barron's lifeless body the thought of his death seemed more humane. So you turn on your knees and jump to the spilled chalice. Before you knew it the Prince was on you.
Pinning you to the floor, your head bounced off the floor sending you into a daze, his hands engulfed your wrist. Looming over you his silken hair tickled your face, the tendrils brushing at your tears. Despite his overpowering your body strained and clawed for the spilled cup.
"Find yourself honored girl. I do not make a habit to lowering myself."
"Please your highness... I'm merely a simple chambermaid" you try and reason, still fighting his hold.
-----
He got up still with your wrist in hand and dragged you to Obadiah's empty chair. The more you pulled back the harder the grip he held on you. Pushing you down on it, he enclosed you, his hands resting on its arms forming your prison.
"Your highness I implore you I know not what you mean?" Your voice quaked. Your vision doubled as the salty tears pooled on your eyes.
His stare was paralyzing as he lifted to straighten himself, you could not bring yourself to move. Racking his fingers through his dark main, watching as he walked around the table, taking his seat again across from you.
"How did you come about this trade" his tone was flat an ominous, he cradled his chin with one hand, stroking it with his slender fingers.
Your shoulders sagged forward and stomach knotted. This Prince was here to interrogate you on behalf of the church you knew it.
Then he would take you to them to be burned. An example to be made in front of The High Church.
"I asked you a question girl." His tone lacking patients.
----
"My mother..." As he held your sullen gaze you knew he wanted you to continue. "The women of town would come to her pregnant and leave...." You swallowed thickly "virginal."
It was not a flawless procedure often women have bleed out. But they would be good as dead if they were to arrived home pregnant unmarried in the eyes of The Church.
"And how did you find yourself as a dutiful servant to Stark?"
"Lord Rhodery knew of my mother by means of his sister. She was carrying the king's bastard." You said looking down to tug at the loose string of your dress.
"A month later my mother and I were sent by cover of night to the Royal castle.  From there on Stark had us stay under the guise as chambermaids."
"Who knew of this?"
"Very few just King Stark, Barron Obadiah and Lord Rhodery. They would bring the maidens to an east tower. People rarely ventured there. Our face was covered all throughout."
"So you know how to hold your tongue. A feature I admire.”
----
"When we dock you will be taken to the servants quarters in your new Kings castle" Prince Loki spoke so softly, his calmness somehow setting you on edge.
You wrung your hands together in your lap, tapping your heel as he pulled something from his clothes. It was a bit of folded parchment with a wax seal. You could not read, but you always were fond of the squiggles that decorated paper.
"A portly woman will be there to greet you when you arrive. Give this to her." He out stretched his hand that held a parchment to you. Reaching for it, but Prince Loki pulled it away suddenly.
"Hide it away.” He ordered, you hesitated as you thought of where to stash it. You jumped when he rose again and stood in front of you once more.
“If anyone asks where you are from. Tell them you are from a province just out side my domain.” As Prince Loki spoke you stiffened and gasped.
The Prince's hand glided down your collar bone tracing down to the crack of your bosom. The folded paper clipping your chin as he moved. When he shoved it forcefully down bypassing your breast with the parchment you yelped.
The paper edges poking at your softness made you fidget uncomfortably. Your eyes were larger than saucers as he caressed your breast when he pulled away.
"You will be a wall. A piece of furniture. An unassuming figure amongst the abysmal castle life. Listen for everything. Ears open at all times. The minorist of details commit them to memory as you never know when the slightest detail would come into play.”
You did not respond, still stunned and confused. If he wasn’t bringing you to the church you weren’t sure what he had planned for you.
Prince Loki called out to someone beyond you. The squeaks on the floor boards announced their entrance. Turning you find the man that guided you to this room. Bowing his head towards the prince.
"Take her and make sure she arrives to my brother’s safely."

It was late and you were way to drunk to be walking the streets by yourself. Your friends had begged you to come out with them to go partying, you knew you would come to regret it in the morning. You and your friends slammed drinks after drinks without a care in the world, it was Halloween night after all, what else were a bunch of single ladies suppose to do. So this is how you were now carrying a pair of heels by your side, in a dress that was just a little to short, and a headband with fuzzy black ears now digging into your head because you can’t go out without a costume according to your friends.
Your feet patter against the rough concrete, the only thing protecting you from the ground is the pantyhose you threw on earlier in some attempt to be modest. The street lights in your neighbor hood shine a dim yellow light across the street, the only other light coming from decorations from houses you pass. No body was out on the street except for the other occasional drunks, seeing as it was some ungodly hour in the morning.
You would have called a cab if you had any clue what had happened to your phone, you faintly remember your friend taking at the beginning of the night so you couldn’t ditch them. Smart, because you NEVER did stuff like this. You’re considered the “mom” friend of your group. At this point you just wanted to plop down in your bed and forget about tonight.
Suddenly you’re taken out of your thoughts by the sound of foot steps behind you. You end up ignoring it, assuming it’s just another person trying to get home after a long night of partying, like yourself. You keep your pace and decide to take a short cut wanting to get out of your ridiculous “costume”, dipping into an alley you were very familiar with, never realizing how poorly lit it was, seeing as you were never out this late.
Red eyes, unknown to you, watch your every move. A smirk growing on his face as he enters the alley.
Walking down the road, you suddenly start feeling like you’re being watched so you quickly turn around to calm your nerve. Not seeing anyone behind you, you continue on your walk. You make the turn around the corner and confusion takes over as you face to face with a wall. Did I take a wrong turn? I could have sworn this was the right street.. You shrug your shoulders turning around to exit the dead end when you feel your heart stop. The only light in the alley was the moons glow, but that was all you needed to see those vermilion eyes staring into you. You go to let out a scream but are stopped as a hand covers your mouth.
“Hey, hey, we wouldn’t anyone to hear you and think something is wrong...” The man infront of you pauses, breaking your eye contact to let his eyes roam over you. A smirk takes over his face and you can see sharp canines peek out from his lip. He tilts his head to the side and reaches to your head fixing your ears “...now would we kitten”.
Your eyes dart behind him to see if there was any way someone could see what was happening and come help, but you knew deep down, no one was going to make the same mistake you did and walk into an empty dead end. The man infront takes a step toward you slowly closing the gap.
“So what’s a pretty girl like you doing out here all alone huh? Don’t you know there are bad men out walking the street at this hour.” He voice sending chills down your spine as you do everything in you power to keep your eyes off of him. Looking all around you for something, anything to get you out of that alley. You let out a gasp as you feel a hand make its way into your hair, “I asked you a question, you going to answer me?” His eye brow quirked as he waits.
“I was heading home from a party my friends invited me to, we all ended up getting really drunk. I was going to call a cab but I think one of my friends took my phone and she went home with some guy, even though she told me the reason she was taking me out was to get laid.” The truth spilling from you mouth without missing a bet. You hadn’t meant to say a that to the stranger but between the alcohol and his enchanting gaze, you couldn’t stop yourself. Your mouth drops open as you slam a hand to your lips, mortified at what you had just said. “I didn’t mean to say that.”
“You meant it though. Here I thought you were a good girl but all you want is some dick, such a dirty little slut.” His head dipping into your neck, licking a wet strip from your collarbone to just under you ear, stopping to nibble on your ear lobe. “I can make you feel so good you just got to say the word and I’ll make it happen.”
Your breath caught in your throat at the mans lewd words. All you could think of was to push him off of you but the growing heat in-between your legs prevented you. You felt as his hands traveled you body lightly, sending all types of chills down your spine and into your core. Quickly, you grab his wrists when they dip under your dress to your outer thighs.
“Oh what do have here, are you going to stop me princess. Go ahead tell me to stop, I dare you to try.” You open your mouth but no words come out. You were frozen between the wall and his gaze. You couldn’t find the words to make him stop. But honestly you didn’t want to. The burning trails his fingertips left as they dug into the sensitive skin on your legs was enough to make shiver in anticipation. “That’s what I had thought, now your going to be a good little girl for me now aren’t you? Going to do everything I tell you too”.
“But I-I don’t even know your name” you let out as a feeble attempt to get him to stop.
“It’s Katsuki and you can bet it’ll be the only name you remember when I done with you.”
He shakes his hands from your grasp and moves them to inner thigh, nudging your legs apart. Your leg open without you even thinking and a warm jolt gets sent to your core as you feel him rip open your pantyhose. He moves his head from his assault on your neck down your torso until he is met with your lacey underwear now on view. A blush crosses you face as you watch him lick his lips when he sees how wet you are from how little he has done to you.
“You’re soaked and I haven’t even touched you yet. You really are just a dirty little slut aren’t you.” Now on his knees he brings your legs further apart as he brings his face to your heated core. Locking his eyes with yours, he runs a long strip with his tongue against your clothed core. A wine escapes your lips at the action causing your already damp underwear to now be soaked. His teeth catch hold at the top and rips the garment off of you, you gasp as the cold air hits your newly exposed area. His warm breath fans across you as he sticks out his tongue again. You soon realized the situation you were in and how dirty it made you feel.
“I..I never do stuff like this” trying desperately to clear your image. You look down at the blond between your legs and notice two horns that stick out of each side of his head. Your eyes travel down his body taking in his large build and to the large black and red wings that come out form his back. “W-wait are you supposed to be the devil or something?” His eyes light up underneath you and he smirks
“Oh you have no idea” A load moan rips from your mouth as he plunges his tongue past your lips deep into you. You squirm as you feel it travel up inside of you, what the fuck no normal tongue can do this, but you are taken out of your thoughts as it brushes against your soft spongey wall. Just as quickly as the overwhelming sensation had came it left, his tongue retreating out of you as you let out a whine at lose of contact. “Quiet now, you don't want anyone to hear how desperate you are now do you?”
You nodded your head and bit down on your lip as the familiar feeling sends warm surges to your core. His tongue was going to be the death of you. The things you’d sign away to feel like this forever. The way it moved inside of you like no other, pressing against all the right spots perfectly. With how hard you were biting down on your lip you were sure you would draw blood but it was to good for you to handle. If this is just his tongue imagine if...the dirty thought causes you to clench around him. His moan vibrates against your clit at the feeling making you roll back your eyes at the sensation. The warm knot growing bigger as you felt yourself coming closer by this stranger.
“I-I’m so close” You barely manage to get out, not able to think due to the pure pleasure seeping through you. He lets out a groan against you, giving you permission to come undone. And that final vibration was all you needed to release that building pressure in your core. You bit down most of your moan but a small whimper still manages to make its way out. You feel his tongue leave and lick up every drop that may have escaped.
“You taste so good angel, wouldn’t want any of this to go to waste.” He moves to your thigh leaving light kisses that soon turn into harsh attacks, his sharp teeth grazing your skin. Finally he manages to peel himself away and moves back up to your face, just inches away you can see his once bright red eyes darken with lust. “Now I am going to fuck you so hard you wont be able to walk the rest of the way home.” His hand finds its way around you neck lightly giving it a squeeze “But I bet a little slut like you would love that huh?”
You feel your airway constricting, not only from his hand but the words that he said, a throb surging through your already sensitive core. You hear him shuffle and then move his hand from your neck to the back of your thighs, giving them a squeeze making you jump. He lifts you up with that momentum and you instinctively wrap your legs around his hips. A whimper leaves your lips as you feel his head slide against your folds, coating in your slick.
Suddenly he drops you onto him, as he plunges fully into you. You throw your head onto his shoulder, biting at the fabric of his shirt as he stretches you out. You weren’t expecting him to be that big, but he filled you up perfectly. You can feel his smirk against your skin as he lets you adjust to his size. The cold feeling of rough brick against your back as you try to get used to it.
“Pleease… move” you let out, barely louder than a whisper.
“Oh with pleasure” He moves out of you completely, with just his tip at your entrance before slamming back into you. A groan escapes his lips at how tight your walls hug him. “For such a slutty girl you’re so fucking tight kitten”
His movements speed up sending you into a state of euphoria. His dick hitting your g-spot with every rut. He dips his head into your neck, searching for your sensitive spot. As a moan rips from you mouth he knew he had found it, and starts his attacking, earning all kind of noises from you.
His speed was starting to pick up even faster and you don’t know how much longer you’ll be able to with stand this. His dick moving in and out of you at an inhuman speed. Sensitive to every move he made, you could feel the way his thick veins rubbed against your walls causing your toes to curl as you felt a burning sensation start to build back up.
“I-I don’t think I c-can last much longer” was all you can say as he slams into you.
“Let everyone know who is making you feel this good, let them know who you belong to now.” He growls against your neck, teeth drawing blood due to his bit.
“You! God, you Katsuki. I’m all yours!” You scream out, pleasure starting to completely take over you, note even caring about your volume. A devilish smirk takes over his face.
“Then cum for me.” His says as he slams deep into you. His words making you come undone for the second time that night. This was so much more intense then the first one, your legs squeezing around him hard as you loose all control. His pace starts to falter as he watches you come apart in front of him causing him to reach his own high. He twitches within you, hot ropes filling you up as he moans at his release.
Your breathing rough as you try to regain your senses. He hold you in place against him and the wall as you catch you breath, as he does the same. Eventually he pulls out of you and lowers you to the ground, your knees wanting to instantly give out but they don’t. You eyes meet his as you realize what has just happened.
“Am I ever going to see you again?” You feel dumb even asking the question, until you hear him chuckle infront front of you.
“You’ll be seeing lots of me” His gaze drops down and you follow it to your wrist. Gasping as you seeing a binding mark on your wrist with a red glow to it. You quickly look and lock eyes with him, the same red glow meeting you. He lowers his head back to your ear once again as his next words send chills down your spine.
“You’re mine now.”

Note: So lack of motivation is a bitch and I’m surprised that writing and rewriting this fic worked. Hopefully, this stands up to your expectations.
“Breaking news, Adrien Agreste, the former head model of Gabriel Agreste Fashion, was seen walking down the streets of Gotham, New Jersey late last night. Tune in later for more Gotham gossip…” The volume slowly becomes muted leaving the person holding the remote sitting in silence.
Soon a series of noises, such as items hitting the floor, a body struggling to move fills the room ambiance sound. It wasn’t long before a phone’s ring tone goes off. More rustling is heard. The music stops, then there was a pause.
“Yeah, I just watched the news. So, what’s the plan. I already have Barb on speed dial.” A male’s voice states into the phone. This is Richard “Dick” Grayson on the four-way call with his brothers.
“Demon Spawn’s in charge of keeping, Pixie, busy. She cannot know that he’s in town.” Jason states before hearing his younger brother tsking at such an easy request. Of course, he could keep his fiancée busy in the meantime.
“Of course, I can keep my beloved busy, you imbeciles.” Damian scoffs at his brothers. In fact, his beloved was most likely in her studio right now working on a commission.
“Good, good, keep her away from any source of news. We all know how Gotham Gossip works. The rest of you meet me at WE and we’ll figure out a way to get Agreste out of here.” Tim explains to which everyone mumbles their agreements and slowly hang up on one another.
“What was all that about?” Kori asks coming out of the bedroom, rubbing her eyes.
“Oh, you know, the same old same old.” Dick smiles at his wife who raises an eyebrow but shrugs instead and goes into the kitchen.
“Ready for some more gossip Gotham! Former son of the Parisian terrorist was found shopping at Coccinelle de Pixie storefront that was recently vandalized not long after with the words ‘Traitor’ spread painted in black across the window…”
Timothy Drake sat in his executive chair nursing a new cup of steaming coffee. Gotham’s Gossip playing on a radio that he soon turned off and shakes his head. All the more evidence to place Adrien Agreste behind bars just like Paris did his father. For years, everyone thought Adrien was in cahoots with his father in terrorizing Paris, Adrien made no statement and he stayed away from the media.
“Mr. Drake, your brothers are here.” His assistant announces through the coms. Tim quickly replies knowing that his brothers are seconds away from breaking down his office doors.
“You heard the latest gossip?” Jason practically demands. Tim could feel the anger rolling off his predecessors. “Of course, you did, you wouldn’t be listening if you hadn’t. I swear if Gordon doesn’t find the culprit, I will.” Jason slams his fist against the wooden desk, to which Tim simply takes a sip of his coffee and stare directly at his brothers.
Tim would never say it aloud, but he was surprised to see Damian especially after he was given the job of keeping the person that claim as their sister busy for the evening.
“I don’t care what methods you use Todd, as long as the person—” Cough, Agreste, cough, “is behind bars and locked up with the worst of the worst.” Damian gave his brother the answer he needs.
“Back to the issue at hand.” Tim sets his cup down. “Babs sent me Agreste’s itinerary from his hotel location to any phone history. So far, we have gathered he is in contact with someone under the name Buginette, unfortunately, that number is tied to a burner. They are making plans that seem on the verge of making Bean suffer.”
“Great, we have our main suspect and we can’t even call his accomplice,” Jason growls, he hates feeling helpless but that only has so much time before Adrien could make his attempt.
“I wouldn’t say that; Dick you’ll be tailing Agreste, from his GPS location, he should be passing by WE any minute now. Use this and the GG, as we all know she’s in for the latest scoop.” Tim hands Dick a device with a beeping red dot moving. Dick examines the devices before placing them in his pockets.
“We have until eight o’clock tonight to detain him. This Buginette and he plans on meeting at an unknown location. We will intercept them either both or right on.” Tim then takes another sip giving his siblings time to process any information that he just gave.
“Just in, GCPD found a bunch of dead ladybugs in front of the Chordate Hotel, the hotel that Adrien Agreste is rumored to be staying at. Is this retribution to the future Mrs. Wayne as we all know how much she loves ladybugs…?” The broadcaster’s voice carries over the car’s radio.
Damian Wayne could help but tighten his hands around the steering wheel. Someone was after this fiancée and he felt helpless about it. Marinette doesn’t deserve any of this. She has too much to worry about with the wedding and her growing fashion empire.
He pulls up in front of their shared apartment and immediate parks into his parking space.
“Angel, I’m home.” He calls out tossing his keys into the decorative bowl that on the end table next to the front door.
“In the back room.” A female’s voice calls back. Damian smiles practically visualizing the smile on his fiancée’s face.
Walking past a series of boxes, Damian makes it to the back room. Marinette is kneeling next to a mannequin, hand sowing the lace fabric into place. Damian couldn’t help but watch her work in awe. They have known each other for years and even today her working still amazes him.
“Are we still going over to Bruce’s tonight?” Marinette asks looking up briefly to acknowledge her fiancé and give him a smile. Damian was quick to answer her with a yes to which she nods and turns her attention back to the gown. “I should be done in an hour. I also have a couple of stops to make before we head over. Or do you wanna carpool with your brothers while I drive?”
Ding, ding. Damian knows that the messages coming through are from his brothers. “I’ll be fine; getting a ride with Grayson.” He answers before grabbing his phone and unlocking it to view the messages.
“Dami…Dami…” Damian turns away from his phone to stare into the blue eyes of his fiancée. “I thought I lost you there for a minute; you didn’t respond when I had asked whether you’re going out tonight for patrol?”
“Tt, I am going on patrol with the others tonight. Doing a run before and after dinner.” He answers hoping that she doesn’t question it. Marinette narrows her eyes before shrugging and continuing with her sowing.
Quickly getting changes, it wasn’t long before Damian receives a message from Dick stating that he’s out in front. Damian gives Marinette a goodbye kiss and exits out of the apartment.
“Wha’sup Gotham. Tonight’s segment is saucy. With Adrien Agreste out in the public, the batbros are out and about. I swear I just some red outside the studio window. Now onto the sauce—”
“Are you seriously listening to the crap with the mask on?” Robin questions Red Robin, who waves his in his defense. “Should the target get here by now?” He looks over the building to view the streets.
Behind the two vigilantes, Nightwing and Red Hood appear on the rooftop.
“Agreste should be arriving in five according to his GPS location.” Nightwing states and a ringing sound goes through their coms.
“Nightwing is right. Though is it for certain that Mr. Agreste is the person behind the attacks against Miss Marinette?” Agent A’s voice rings through the coms. The four brothers look to one another all being on the same wavelength. They all think that Adrien Agreste is behind the attacks. There was no other reason to explain it. He arrives in Gotham and then there are attacks against Mari through her storefront and favorite animal/insect.
“We’re sure, Agent A,” Tim responds as the device on this wrist beeps. At the same time, a rental car pulls up across the building and parks. Adrien Agreste gets out of the car and straightens out his collar.
“Target is in place. All we’re missing is this Buginette person and we’ll move in.” Red Hood pulls out an AK-47 and position it to lock on Adrien. He wasn’t going to kill the blonde male, maybe just skim a little off the top or scare him shitless.
Down below, Adrien pulls out his phone and calls someone. Immediate the batbros knew that he is talking to this Buginette person, it’s not because Red Robin has the recording playing as well.
About five minutes later, a familiar dark car pulls up. Robin looks at the car in suspicion. This car was the same model that he has and shares with Marinette from time to time. From the corner of his eye, he could see Red Hood etching his finger closer to the trigger.
Adrien runs over to the car shouting “Buginette” happily to the person inside.
The car door opens and immediately they hear a gunshot. The door closes and Adrien jumps back. Red Hood side-eyes his brothers as Robin silently hopes that he is wrong for once.
This “Buginette” person finally gets out of the car to reveal a Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who was no doubly staring in their direction.
“Well shit.” Red Hood groans just as the rest of the family facepalm or are into much of a shock to do anything.
“Hold on for a second, Adrien,” Marinette states holding out her hand as her other hand goes to grab her phone.
On the rooftop, Red Hood’s phone was going off. None of them wanted to answer it. In fact, there were certain that they didn’t want to answer. Instead of taking it like a man, the brother quickly gathers their items and disappear off the roof.
“Do I even want to know, what’s going on, Buggy?”
“No, Kitten, you don’t wanna know.” Marinette huffs and places her phone back in her purse. “I have an hour to hour to kill before I dinner and you and I have a lot to catch up on.” Marinette wraps her hands around Adrien’s shoulder, who smiles sheepishly at the dark-haired woman. “I hear that you and—”
“Mari!” Adrien interrupts blushing a deep red to which Marinette laughs and opens the door to the building.
An hour later, Adrien stands behind Marinette, who was on a warpath knocking against the large doors to Wayne Manor. They could hear furniture moving, people yelping, and a cough. Alfred stands at the with a greeting smile like no other, though Adrien could sense the double meaning.
“Good evening, Alfred, how are you?” Marinette greets with that sickly-sweet smile; Adrien knows all too well. Marinette never the one to keep the deadly appearance apart of her getup but she knows how to use her best aspects for the worst.
“Good evening, Miss Marinette and you is your guest?”
“Oh, silly me, this is my brother in everything but blood, Adrien Dupain-Cheng.” Marinette gestures for Adrien to follow. She places her jacket and purse down and examines the room. Of course, the couch was being used as a blockage.
“Ooh…boys?” Marinette sings walking past the couch, setting each and everyone right side up.
In the dining room, the four men all look to one another scared to utter a single sound. They did not want to deal with Marinette, especially Jason.
“Whose bright idea was it to allow Hood to shoot at Adrien?” Marinette’s voice echoes throughout the manor’s first floor. Bruce, who was sitting at the head of the table raises an eyebrow at his sons. He wasn’t in the bat cave when they returned but they returned as quickly as they left.
Dick mouths “you don’t want to know” to his father figure and begins to sweat bullets. “Whatever happens, tell Kor’i and Mar’i that I love them.” The oldest adopted Wayne states as Marinette makes her way to the archway leading into the room.
“You don’t need to worry about that Dickie.” Marinette smiles, “I’m after Jason.” At the mention of his name, Jason darts out of his seat and through the window. Alfred and Adrien watch the scene play out in two different emotions. Adrien was curious while Alfred was just done with everything.
“I’ll place the order for a new window sir. Is any hungry for dinner?” No one answer to afraid to make them the next target to Marinette’s anger.
“Dinner sounds nice, Alfred.” Marinette smiles sending more chills down the remaining three batbros. “So, everyone, meet Adrien, my brother. Apparently, someone tried to kill him this evening, should I know something about that.”
“I’m more concerned as to why you were using a burner phone to contact Agreste.” Damian murmurs to which Marinette heard him and was immediately behind her fiancé.
Lowering herself to make sure her lips were closer to his ear, she whispers, “Why would it matter, Demon?” She leans back and gestures for Adrien to take a seat. “Adrien here was in hiding from the press and it was my idea from the start.”
Damian chokes on air, the feeling of death forever lingering. He knew there was a reason why he loves Marinette, and this was one of them.
“Is it safe to come in?” Jason’s head pops up only to get greeted by a Batarang. “Got still not safe, you know what I’ll just go eat out.” Everyone turns to Marinette, who was still showcasing her sickly-sweet smile.
“Anyone want to join him?” She asks taking the empty seat next to Damian, who was spatting himself down making sure he had no weapon on his being that she can reach.
“No, we’re all good here, um, Adrien tell us about yourself?” Tim ends the harsh silence quickly and for once he was actually awake.
Adrien smiles and begins to talk about his latest adventure.
Moments later, Alfred returns with dinner solidifying tonight’s adventure.
Much, much later…
Damian and his brothers came out of their stupor of last night’s event. “Wait then who was vandalizing Mari’s store and image?” Tim asks before pressing a cup of coffee to his lips.
Before any of them to grab their devices to hunt down the real culprit, Marinette walks into the living room. “It was an old employee of mine. He only did it because someone—by the name of Lie-la—offer him some big money. He never received it so he came clean.”
Marinette then picks up the keys from the decorative bowl and leaves her place.
The three older brothers turn to their youngest, “You better not divorce her.” They all state at the same time. Damian only nods, agreeing with his brothers for once in his life.

Metanoia BTTB2
warnings: asking for sex; mentions of sex; manipulating; slight seducing and mentions of seduction; alcohol;
Tumblr media
All of Namjoon's muscles clenched immediately, his body taut as a bowsting.
She didn't elaborate or explain. She stared directly into his eyes with that fire of hers smoldering and waiting for an answer.
Was she really looking for some quick fuck? Was this what had her down that past two hours? Or was this her way of distracting herself from the real problem at hand?
From what Namjoon had dug up, his sweet little jagi was exactly that, sweet and innocent. She didn't party, only drank on special occasions, he could only guess had never done drugs from her perfect school records and she hadn't been allowed to date or go out with strange boys.
Her fathers leash was tight around her neck, it had made his blood boil when he came to that conclusion.
That was another thing he'd be changing soon, he would take the studded choker off her neck and place his own there. His was much softer, much more loose, allowed more freedom and gave her even more luxuries that she already possessed.
Namjoon had no immediate plans of denying her, though he did want to know exactly where this came from, so he could make sure she wouldn't be out propositioning to just any pathetic little boys she could meet. He was more than willing to fuck her to her little hearts desire. Until all she knew was him, until she couldn't form any coherent sentences, let alone remember her own name. His was all she'd be able to say by the time he was done with her. He'd make sure to fuck her so good she would know better than to run to anyone else for something only he could provide her.
With those thoughts that had his mind racing and muscles coiling, ready to pounce, he smoothed his expression into slight confusion, maybe a bit of amusement in there and calmly said, "excuse me?"
"Really?" She nearly rolled her eyes. "You don't seem dense to me. Maybe I was wrong." She huffed, finally breaking eye contact, looking rather annoyed and mostly with herself. He could see the warring behind her eyes.
"Do you often go up to people asking them for sex?" Namjoon asks calmly, one side of his mouth kicking up as he leans back in his chair, exuding power. His movement drew her gaze back to him, and she unconsciously bit her bottom lip and Namjoon felt low growl hum in his throat at that combined with her innocent expression and the way she shifted in her seat. He just knew she was getting turned on already. He'd have to work hard not to break her.
Her eyes widened, no doubt hearing the noise and finally she answers. "No-"
"Then why approach a random man and ask for sex?" As he spoke, he leaned forward, placing his elbows on the table, his hands clasped in front of his mouth and glasses slipping down his nose just a bit. It didn't help the heated gaze he pinned on her. "This isn't a club," he added when he saw her swallow, it seemed she didn't know what to do with his full attention on her. He'd remedy that quickly, his angel always had his attention, even when it seemed she didn't. "Or a bar. Why here? Why now?.... why me?"
Her eyes dropped to his lips as his voice dipped lower and quieter with every word.
"If you don't want to do it," she paused, trying to regain the control of the situation that she thought she had, taking a breath and steeling herself, eyes losing a bit of that glassy glaze they developed. "Then you don't have to. I'll just go to either of those places and find someone who will. Can't be that hard."
She said it with a bratty attitude that Namjoon instantly found arousing and annoying in the same moment and his mind immediately supplied a dozen ways to make her lose it.
Annoyed, she stood and slid out of the booth, not expecting him to follow. He did, smoothly and with much more elegance. A closed off look on his face as he rebuttoned his suit jacket. He dwarfed her in size, she looked between five three or five four in her flat shoes. In shock, she took in his appearance, seemingly appraising him and liking what she saw as her eyes lit up and she swallowed again.
"Shall we?" He asked stepping close enough to her to invade her personal space, past what social etiquette deemed fit, but not far enough to be overly intrusive and scare her or make a scene. Out of the corner of his eye he had been watching the cook and the waitress, an older couple who seemed protective of his jagi. They had kept an eye on her the entire time, the older woman had held a short conversation with his jagi when she first came in and the woman had even brushed back Ava's hair during the course of her meal. His jagi hadn't shown any signs of being uncomfortable with the motherly gesture so Namjoon had let it be. But the way that they watched him with such distrust, Namjoon was debating on whether or not they'd need to be dealt with or not. If they wouldn't become a problem for him down the road he could maybe even use them.
Ava nods slowly. Almost disbelieving that what she had asked for she was getting. "My place or yours?"
Namjoon was a bit disappointed that she was offering her own bed to a stranger, but perhaps she felt safer there instead of trapping herself in an unknown place. Namjoon couldn't follow the knowledge (or lack there of) that she was using to make the decision.
But he knew she lived alone. No chef, no maid or any help of any kind, no security, other than what her building supplied at the main entrances. It was easy for him to get to her personal space, but that meant it was easy for others too.
Her father was a fool, he had made many enemies in his time in the illegitimate side of his business, and once again Namjoon felt his dislike for the man swelling deeply at his negligence. He broke his thoughts, paying for his drink and tipping generously. He gestured with a hand for them to go and placed a hand to her back that was neither too low or too high. If she was having second thoughts, he didn't want to scare her into running. He'd really have to woo her.
"I'm only in town for the weekend," Namjoon supplied, opening the door for her and stepping close enough for his jacket to brush against her as they exited together. "I'm staying at the Baccarat Hotel in Manhattan-"
"My place then." She interrupted. "I'd rather not be seen going into that hotel with you. It looks... bad." She carried off, fingers playing with the hem of her babydoll dress.
Namjoon nods, humming his approval. His smart girl. She was protecting her image, their were plenty of reporters that hung out near the richer hotels. And Namjoon only stayed at the best. She must've pieced together that he was well enough off by the way he dressed and the hotel he was staying in.
"Lead the way." His grin was perhaps a bit to sharp as she looked up at him with big round eyes.
He had to act as if he had never been near her place of dwelling though, so even as she seemed to take the long way he didn't correct or give any hints that he was on to her as he made polite conversation the whole way. In fact, he was soaking up all he could from this time he had with her, he wanted to build a relationship with her. One that was more than just sex- though that was something he did look forward to. She was quick to offer up her first name. But not her family name. Ava. He acted politely, as if it was brand new information and then he offered his whole name just as readily. She repeated it carefully and Namjoon's body reacted to his name falling from her pretty pink lips, and he didn't stop the sudden urge to press his lips to hers in a heated kiss as they were stopped on a crosswalk at an intersection. He swooped down to her height, the hand on her back crushing her chest tightly to his and his free hand wrapping around the side her slender neck as she gasped and their lips met. Her neck was small enough for his thumb to tilt her jaw up and for his fingers to cup the back of her neck entirely and pull her face even closer as he dominated her mouth swiftly making it a bit more passionate and stealing all her breath away.
He pulled away from the heated kiss first, leaving her clutching his front and gasping for air. Her eyes went down immediately and Namjoon watched with a growing smile as she tried to compose herself.
He dipped close enough for his lips to touch her ear and whispered, "shall we?"
Everywhere his lips or breath touched rippled with goose bumps right away and he admired the skin their, how smooth and creamy it looked. He couldn't wait to mark it up. He placed a sweet kiss to her ear, humming in satisfaction when a shiver went down her body.
It didn't take long before they were in her penthouse. Namjoon had found deep in many, many files that the penthouse was a gift from her father on her eighteenth birthday. A bit of freedom for her so long as she obeyed. Namjoon had already had Taehyung and Hoseok sweep the place for any sort of bugs that could've been hidden. Namjoon took in the room with out rudely intruding. He eyed the entrance in distaste. It was a bit of an annoyance and disgust that Americans didn't remove their shoes upon entry into their homes. They walked all over their messy cities and then tracked it through their house. He wondered how he could convince her to abandon that habit.
"Make yourself comfortable I suppose." She said, heading into the kitchen, "feel free to look around." She shrugged, not looking over her shoulder.
Namjoon shook his head, his smart girl could be so naive. She just invites a strange man into her home all alone (for sex no less) and tells him to 'make himself at home'. It was clear she had never brought anyone home with her before. He grinned again, taking in the rooms slowly, even though he truly already knew the place inside and out. He did take more time to look in depth at the pictures on the wall and on each table. His beautiful jagi. He grinned. His innocent virgin baby girl. He had no doubts at this point that she was a virgin. And with the way her body reacted to his touch, he doubted anyone had ever touched her at all.
He found her pouring a glass of dark alcohol that she pulled up to drink quickly. Not seeing or hearing his approach, she was shocked when he pulled the glass from her hand, giving an amused expression and raising a brow in question. Her eyes narrowed in what seemed to be annoyance or perhaps defiance as her eyes flickered to the bottle on the counter. Namjoon once again wanted to rid her of the brattiness. He took off his glasses slowly, folding them closed and setting them beside the drink before caging her against the counter and overwhelming her with just his presence alone. He waited a moment, for her to push him away or tell him no, and when she didn't he leaned down and connected their lips in the softest touch he could manage. He didn't make any move to deepen the kiss, or escalate it in any way. He just moved his lips softly against hers. Coaxing her into the kiss until she was breathless again before he pulled back. He smirked proudly at what he had managed to do to her with just a kiss. Her chest was heaving as she worked on slowing her breathing, and it took her a moment before she opened her eyes, they were clouded and it had Namjoon humming in satisfaction.
"I need you sober, baby." He said softly, voice smooth as velvet as he cupped her jaw gently, he stroked a thumb over her cheek as he spoke. "If you don't want to do this you need to tell me now...." her eyes focused a bit at that, the hand that had tangled in his jacket gripped a little tighter, unconsciously begging for him already. "Once I start I'm not sure I'll be able to stop, beautiful." He added slowly, with a light nip to her ear.
He kissed the skin under it gently at first, a light peck before moving down a bit, kiss by kiss until he found her soft spot and started sucking and biting. He kept it more lips and tongue rather than teeth, knowing she wasn't ready for anything too rough. He was going to take such good care of his jagi. The breathy moan she released accompanied with the death grip she had on his jacket and arm had him grinning in her neck. "Are you ready jagi?"
She was whining low and needy, nodding her head and not letting go of him as he pulled up and stood straight. He unbuttoned his jacket, shrugging it off his shoulders and her hands fall away from him. He held her in place with nothing but his gaze alone.
"Always use your words," he instructed, folding the jacket in half and setting it down with care. "When I speak to you, I expect an answer."
His sweetheart nodded at first before stuttering out an 'okay'. He tugged her hand, having her stand and helping her take off her own jacket. "Where's your room jagi?" He asks, hiding his grin until she turned to lead the way. He squeezed her hand a bit. "Words angel."
"My room is up the stairs and down this hall." She supplied quickly, eager to please him, "along with my office, and my closet and bathroom. Down the other hall is two guest rooms, a sitting room and another bathroom."
Namjoon made a noise in the back of his throat, nodding his approval and gripping her hip as they went. Her room only held a bed, a very big bed, a chair in the middle of the room facing the floor to ceiling windows and a bedside table. Though she did have a pair of panties and a night dress thrown against the wall but neither cared as Namjoon spun her around, both hands against her waist and kissing her again. She gripped his arm and neck, excited and wanting more but Namjoon was prepared to take his time. He was going to have her begging for him before all her clothes were even off, and considering she only had on a few items it would be a challenge. But one he was more than willing to take head on. He sucked another mark into her neck, loving the way her head fell back and she moaned. It was going to be a long and beautiful night, he grinned.

Heila - Chapter 1

The morning waves broke calmly against the eastern shore of Cent, the salty sea breeze & sting of sand against your face and arms both familiar and calming to you; despite being weeks away from the place you once called home, it seemed the ocean would never change, no matter where you went. You could hear seabirds cry above you, and the gentle bustle of your impromptu settlement as your clanmates began to stir and prepare for the day to come. This was not your home, nor your intended destination when you had departed from your homeland - but, hopefully, you & your clan would make a home out of it yet. Originally you were to sail to Normandy but an unexpected and powerful storm threw your ship off course & you'd landed somewhere in England, according to your navigator, Vilmar.
Sitting around & watching the sun rise would not do much to help your people build a base camp. Before you could even get up, you heard footsteps in the sand behind you, and turned to find Gunnar. "There you are, y/n!" he bellowed, helping you to your feet as you giggled. "We've been looking for you for a meeting - needing your level head and all. We need supplies quickly," he said, quickly guiding you to your leader's tent, the both of you somehow avoiding bumping into clansmen carrying lumber, goods and the like. "Oh, needing my guidance for once, Gunnar? Or are you going to suggest we ride into the heart of a storm again?" you jested, elbowing his side as you walked up the green hillside. He made some sort of huffing sound, like a grumpy animal, and simply ushered you into the tent where your leader Frederik & Vilmar were already arguing.
"We need supplies, Vilmar! Else we'll all starve by the end of the week!" Frederik growled, slamming his fist into the table, sending little carved statuettes out of their places on the map.
Vilmar moved to speak, then saw you and Gunnar standing at the entrance of the tent, visibly deflating & waving the two of you over. "Hello Gunnar, y/n." Your arrival didn't seem to placate Frederik at all…
Vilmar continued with his thought. "I know we need supplies, Frederik, but the risks outweigh all rewards at the moment. We musn't rush in blindly going a-vikingr, we must make allies first and set up a trade route," he said, rearranging the statuettes to their original places. "We've sent scouts out to every corner of this kingdom, as far as we could, and every single one has come back with word of a potential allyship, and a warning that every single village here is armed to the teeth. We cannot afford to raid right now."
Frederik seethed quietly, seemingly first accepting Vilmar's words, then growing even more agitated. "And how long will it take,Vilmar, to establish a trade route?" he spat, staring down at the other man with something unreadable behind his eyes. Vilmar held his stare, then looked down at the map. "...A week."
The effect was instantaneous. Before you could even get a word in, Frederik stormed out of the tent, leaving the three of you bewildered, confused & frightened. You knew Frederik could be hellfire at his worst, and he'd always been obsessed with the tales of glory & kings that were told to children, and you had always chalked it up to him barely being 22 winters old, but this was something else. Sharing a worried look with your friends, you chased after him, & were met with a small crowd that had already gathered in the center of the encampment. Frederik's clear & raucous voice rang out over your clansmen, and you saw him pacing back & forth on a wooden platform. Like a king.
"Hear me, kinsmen! We may have landed in a strange land, but it is not an unknown land! We are upon the shores of England, the holy country," he spat out the world 'holy' like an insult, "and we are not the first Danes to do so, and we will not be the last. England is the same as any other land - full & ripe of pickings for the vikingr. Any and all of the able-bodied, you will ride the waterhorse with me to their Christ-House, and we will deprive them of their stores & silver!"
No, no, no, no, no. This was suicide.
Frederik leapt down from the platform, immediately heading for the armory, his wolf-fur cape billowing behind him as if he were a great hero from the old tales, though you knew he was anything but . This was not a good plan, nor a sound plan. He was insane if he thought a band of two dozen sea-soaked & exhausted Danes could pillage a monastery & live to tell the tale. You rushed ahead & grabbed his arm. He did not look at you.
"Frederik, please! Listen to me! This will not end well for you, nor for this clan! Follow through with Vilmar's plan instead, please, I am begging you -" you cried, and were met with the man shaking you off as if you were a fly. He turned to you with a wild look in his eye, forcing himself in your space, close enough for you to finally smell the ale on his breath & to see the dullness in his honey-brown eyes. "I have seen great glory in my dreams, y/n. I will not be denied it." You didn't know what to say, staring at him in shock. He looked at you again, and decided something, muttering something under his breath. "You will ride with me," he growled.
This shocked you out of whatever daze you were in. "What? No! I…" you yelped, but he had already turned from you and stormed off again. This was not good. You were never an adept fighter. Sure, you had trained once or twice in your early years, but you would never call yourself a drengr. But to go against your leader's word & break your oath to him would be a worse fate, consigning you to Helheim. Begrudgingly, you went off in search of armor & a weapon, the distant sound of thunder rumbling in the sky.
A few hours had passed, and to the best of all of your abilities, your clan had mustered up a small yet intimidating army. Maybe things would go right, and you'll topple their church like a house of cards, but you couldn't shake the ever-present feeling of something being wrong. Finishing the warrior-braid in your hair and tying it with a leather strip, you donned the leather & fur armor handed to you by Runa, your weaponsmith. It did not fit you perfectly, but still fit, and would serve its purpose and protect you yet from whatever weapons the English would use to defend themselves. Your weapons of choice, an axe & a flail, hung from the belt around your waist heavily, and you were not used to the weight of them. A shield adorned with your clans symbol, the stag, laid against your back like a mockery of a security blanket. Taking a swig of mead to warm your belly & calm your nerves, you give one last glance to your tent & personal belongings - the dried flower & a bag of jewelry (that you've had to hide from your kinsmen many times) from your mother, a lovingly-written & tear-stained letter from your father, among other things given to you by your friends & family as parting gifts before your departure from Denmark.
You did not know it would be the last time you would see them.
Taking a deep breath, you exited your tent and headed for the shore, where many of your clan had already hopped into the three longships, painted red & blue, the stark coloration of the paint looking even brighter against the dark waves of the sea. Were you looking at them any other time, you would have called the scene pretty, but not while you had to wade through knee-deep oceanwater to try and scramble up the side of one of them. You struggled for a bit before a hand grasped your arm and pulled you up, and you heard a familiar voice. "y/n? What are you doing here? You should be staying here, with the women & children!" Gunnar spoke, his voice hushed so that the figure of Frederik somewhere behind him could not hear. You could only send him a sad but stern look. "Frederik insisted." He looked at you for far too long, and you could almost hear him thinking - he knew that you were not a drengr, either. He made some sort of soft sound & pulled you fully up onto the boat, and turned back to face forward in his seat. You could not read the expression on his face.
You sat next to him, both looking forward to Frederik, who turned around as the rest of the drengr boarded the ships, his face somber for a split second before shifting to another, more spry and almost violent expression. His voice rang out against the waves, his blonde hair had already begun falling out of his warrior-braid, sending tendrils of it flying in the wind, and his iron armor shone brightly when the sun allowed it. He was a picturesque vikingr, one you would see in the margins of fairytale books.
"Hear me, kinsmen! Today we sail for Raculf Monastery, upon the Northeastern Shore, for glory & for life! For there it is where we will find the supplies we need to replace those we lost in that dreadful storm, and there is where we will succeed! I know many of you have become doubtful, but fear not - I have dreamt of these moments and seen the glory within, and I have all of my faith in the nine Nornir that we will prevail!" he quaked, earning a few rejoiced battle cries from those around you, and even you felt a little energized, his words setting a newfound battlelust within you that you didn't know you even had.
Your clan set sail immediately, the wind from the brewing storm to the south boosting your speed on the short journey to the monastery. It would only take an hour or two to get there, if Vilmar's predictions were correct. Nervously you checked your weapons, feeling & testing the sharpness of your axe's blade-edge, and Gunnar gently elbowed your side. "Never took you for an axe woman," he said with a light chuckle, sending you an uneasy smile. You couldn't bring yourself to match it. "I have never been forced to choose, Gunnar."
His smile dropped momentarily, then returned, albeit a bit smaller, and he turned to you fully. His blue eyes shone with confidence. "Listen, y/n. I know you are worried as I am, but I have faith in both Frederik & the Gods that everything will go right for us this day," he said, gently setting his huge hand on your shoulder and giving a friendly shake. Slowly, you returned his smile. Maybe so.
It was difficult, however, to be so confident & blindly trusting in Frederik & your luck when the storm roared behind you, moving just as fast if not faster than the longships. Too soon you had seen the white pires of the monastery in view, the columns of smoke from countless houses & other buildings rising high into the air as the monastery's denizens continued their lives unaware to the coming danger, and too soon had you heard Frederik's voice over the roar of the sea again. It began to rain heavily, soaking through the leather of your armor and chilling your bones. You felt as if you were in a dream.
"Look there, men! Our prize, to be split open & savored! Prepare yourselves!" he roared, and it seemed like you had blinked and were suddenly upon the shore: the sails lowered, and just as Frederik blew into his horn, a deafening crack of thunder prevailed your raid, and a fire had already started, the hay-roof of a villager's home struck by lightning. Frederik gave a booming laugh, joyous & strong. "Thor is with us!"
And like that, you and your three-dozen clansmen descended upon the monastery, moving together like some unstoppable force. Taken off guard the Saxon warriors had little time to prepare for the assault, and many were immediately fell by the first wave of your brethren; thankfully you were at the back, but this left you open to attack from reinforcements - hopefully they would not come. You quickly entered some sort of fugue state where it felt like you were not truly there, not truly controlling your body, letting your arm guide itself, your axe cutting the chests & necks of already weakened Saxons, spilling red red bubbling blood - was this the battle fury felt by berserkir?
You did not enjoy it. You did not find glory in taking these men's lives.
By the time you had advanced closer to the church, many of the buildings were already set ablaze, the smell of wood-smoke & hair burning making you choke. Not even the pouring rain could douse the fires. All at once you were overwhelmed by the sensations, the sounds - iron clashing, battle cries, the screaming of civilians caught in crossfire - it was too much. You felt yourself shake. But you pressed on, finishing the weak off as before, checking corpses (both of your clansmen and Saxons, though notably more of the latter) as quickly as you could to make sure none of them were breathing - you did not know what you would do if you did find one still alive, either kill him or spare him - and, thankfully, you were never injured. Somewhere along the line you had reunited with Gunnar, and you helped him finish off the last of the Saxon warriors, to which he gave a grateful nod towards you, then a nod to the church. Come with me.
The locked timber doors of the monastery's inner sanctum were no match for the wrath of the vikingr, and crumbled as easily as any other. You both had finally breached the walls of the church when you heard Frederik's victorious cry, and when you turned the corner you could see why - barrels upon barrels and boxes upon boxes of supplies, food, raw materials, and the like.
You had done it. You had won, raided a monastery, and lived to tell the tale. You felt yourself let out a breath and breathe deeply in, something that felt entirely alien to you, as if you had not taken a breath in your entire life. You felt as if you could pass out on the spot. This alerted Frederik of your presence, and he turned to you and Gunnar immediately, wild-eyed and ecstatic. "We have done it, my drengr! Here is our lifeblood!" You couldn't match his enthusiasm, standing as still as a statue, but managed to let out a light chuckle. You had done it.
The chuckle turned into a scream as two arrows pierced your shoulder from behind.
Frederik let go of you and you crumpled to the floor with a sharp cry, taken aback as a dozen or so more Saxons forced themselves through the church's doors, and another had a knife to Gunnar's throat. Reinforcements.
If they had gotten to the three of you, who knows what became of the rest of your clansmen.
You writhed on the marble flooring, your blood staining the tiles red as you tried to gain your footing, your breathing, anything to keep you grounded in this world and alive as your body could not stand to produce adrenaline anymore from the strenuous and long battle, the sharp pain of the arrows lodged between your shoulder blade & your spine making it hard to do anything but lay there. At least it had not been your head.
You felt a boot come down upon your back, knocking the wind out of you again, and a hand tangled itself in your hair, pulling harshly against your scalp to raise you up from the floor - seemingly higher than you've ever been - and another hand came to pull your arms behind your back, as if you could even hope to try and break free. A Saxon, a zealot, you would later say, stepped forward from the rest towards Frederik.
"Hail, heathen," he spat, the rustle of his gilded armor & the voice behind his helmet too loud, too harsh against the once-peaceful quiet of the church. You squeezed your eyes shut. "What brings you here to this House of God, to commit acts of heresy? Tell me why I should not slay you and all of your kin for defiling this place." Thunder roared outside the church, stained glass windows shaking with the sound.
Frederik seemed in shock & at a loss for words. He took a breath, then two, and the Saxon grew impatient. "Speak, worm."
"I, I - we came here for supplies, and -"
"And you thought you could pillage and raid and steal, or maybe you have tried to make peace and were rejected and thought this was the answer. I've heard the same story and the same lie from the other dozens of you Danes that I have slain. I want you to tell me. Why should I not slay you?" You were suddenly very aware of how much of your blood was outside of your body on the floor, where it should not be, and you felt bile bubble up in your throat, saliva drooling from your mouth as if you were a sick animal.
Frederik could not respond. In his mind, he did what he thought was best, not for his clan, but for him; he ran.
At once arrows were drawn upon him, but the Saxon merely waved an arm & they were dismissed. "Ah, I love a good coward. Let him run & tell other Danes of his failure. Let him live with it. Take the others to Canterbury to be converted."
You were again jostled around, catching a glimpse of Gunnar in your periphery, who had cast his gaze down at the ground with a blank stare. You both had the same thought.
He left us.
Before you could finally let yourself pass out from shock, you felt a hand on your jaw, turning your head this way and that. "You're a pretty one, eh? Not a fighter like the others. What are you doing out here with these barbarians?" The Saxon from before. You couldn't meet the man's gaze, locking eyes for a just a second before you looked to the floor again. He gave a light chuckle. Thankfully, he said no more, and you felt yourself grow weaker and weaker as you and your kinsmen were bound & loaded into carts like animals, the rain having let up, only lightly sprinkling now. You fell asleep and dreamt nothing. It was both a blessing & a curse.
You all sat there quietly for the remainder of the morning, any attempt at conversation harshly shushed by a well-armored guard standing nearby on watch. From what you could see, he was bored… as if these circumstances were normal to him. Capturing & abusing prisoners. These Saxons were a new ugly.
When you awoke, you were corralled in some sort of cage with a few others, and you could feel the morning sun beating down on your back. You went to move but were suddenly reminded of the arrows still present in your back and let out a wheezing, pained sound, frightening some of your clansmen around you, waking up others. They had not sustained much injury in the battle aside from bruises and little cuts - your injury, amongst all of those still alive, was the worst. The Saxons had not even been so courteous to break off the shafts, and the nauseating feeling of the arrowheads moving between your muscles as you sat up nearly made you wretch onto the dirt. You were not used to pain like this. Among the others in your cage - all women - you found Hanne, Runa's daughter; Ulla, who you truly didn't know her origins but she could fight like a bear; and little Lissi, a winter younger than you, and in almost the same boat, though she had trained for combat for several seasons now. They all sent you sorrowful looks as blood began to drip from your nose & mouth onto your front, staining your tunic further. Tunic? You looked down. The Saxons had stripped you of your armor, at some point when you were asleep. Figures.
At some point, maybe during noon or after, bells sang from the church on the hillside, and a small, squirrely-looking old man had come down to bring all of you some dry bread & bowls of water. It was not a filling meal but you ate it gratefully regardless. He looked upon you & your kith, bound & shackled and being handfed like dogs, with great pity. An hour passed, and you were all allowed to relieve yourselves, though for some it had come too late. Then dusk came, and a different man approached your cages, followed closely by another armored Saxon. The man spoke in a strange tongue from an open book with a cross on the front, and from what English you understood you supposed it was some sort of rite, or blessing, or maybe a curse. Then they both went away, and you were all left alone for the night. They had not treated your injuries, nor given you anything to eat past the bread & water from midday. You thought of those back at the settlement, and hoped that they were safe… they did not deserve this mistreatment. And then you thought of Frederik, and a new fury from somewhere deep within you came to light. That fucking ergi. Abandoning his people. Maybe he had gone back to them, alone, and the thought of it made your blood boil - what lies would he tell them? It did not even matter if he told them, there would not be enough men left to rescue you. You looked up to the world around you in the cage, ignoring the burning of the arrows, and studied the night sky, and how the lights of the city reflected against the villager's homes, and how the moon seemed to give the church its own glow. This is what Frederik gave me , you thought. Consigned to die in a cage, locked up by an animal by the Saxons. Or worse. You saw a lone crow circling the church's highest point. And to yourself, you made an oath.
I will see to it that the coward faces what he has broken.
Another day went by, the same as the last, and then another. Some priests came by in the early morning of the second day and finally rid your back of the two arrows, though they did not truly clean the wounds, only simply broke off the shafts & quelled the bleeding. You were all only fed bread and water. On the third day, you refused your "meal," partly because of your burning hatred of Frederik to do anything properly, partly because of the fever that had set in and worsened rapidly over a few hours. You did not feel like yourself.
As you did every day, you sat still in the corner of the cage & observed villagers, soldiers, priests & pilgrims pass by, like a dog staring from the back of a kennel. Today, however, you were given the chance to see two new faces pass by - two new outlander faces. One of a tanned man with a beard in strange white & red gear, who looked upon you & your kith with a strange expression, and a tall, hooded woman with bear fur draped about her shoulders. A Norseman, plain in sight, and none of the Saxons in the city had even batted an eye at the pair. She looked at you with pity first, then her brows furrowed, and muttered something to her companion, who gave a short reply. They continued up the hill to the church - pilgrims, maybe? Doubtful.
An hour passed, and then two, then three, and another priest approached your cages. He spoke of conversion, some rite, and honestly you'd tuned him out after the first few words. Suddenly he turned to you, and the ice-blue of his eyes shocked you still. "Will you accept the love of God into your heart?"
You didn't know what to say. This felt like an insult, after all these people have put you through. You made up your mind quickly. Maybe it was your fever speaking for you. "No."
He made another sort of sad face, and then was suddenly shadowed by the same Saxon that had cornered Frederik, back at the monastery.
"Then we will make an example out of you yet, little heathen." You did not have time to prepare for the pair of armored guards dragging you out of the cage, your arms still bound behind your back, and maybe kicking and screaming was not the best reaction, given one of them suddenly backhanded you and shocked you into quietness. A handful of villagers had heard & perhaps caught a glimpse of the debacle and stopped to stare for a moment, before another heavily armed Saxon waved them away. You were brought away from your kinsmen closer to the church, where a foreboding column of wood jutted out of the center of a clearing. Its purpose was made clear as you were made to kneel and your arms were tied to the bough of it, in mockery of a praying position. Public humiliation. Or worse.
Unfortunately worse. A notable crowd had gathered, and though you could not see them, you could hear them mutter amongst themselves somewhere behind you. Some cheered for your punishment, some began to cry, knowing what was coming. The Saxon zealot circled you twice. You did not meet his gaze.
When he spoke, he bellowed his words so that the crowd may hear. "Here we have the little Dane, a fork-tongued thing that has dared to cast aside the love of God! What heresy," he said, his words poisoned with sarcasm & mockery. Somewhere to your left, you heard the squirrely-man's voice call out for mercy. "Please, Eadwulf! This is not the way of God!" Eadwulf simply waved the man away. "These pagans killed more than two dozen of our men at Raculf. Only one death of theirs is a kindness." Death? Oh, no. You did not sign up for this. You don't deserve this. You found a new will to live in the way you squirmed against the bonds to no avail. Fuck.
Eadwulf prowled somewhere behind you, and you felt sweat dripping down your brow. You heard a chain, or a whip maybe, rattling, and the sound of the crowd's murmurs growing louder, and how the entire city seemed to grow quieter. This is not how I am meant to die.
"If you will not accept the love of God, heathen, then bend to his wrath."   How poetic. The first slash was unexpected, painful, making your entire body seize up as if you were dropped into both boiling & freezing water as the cloth & skin between your shoulder blades split, fresh blood spilling down the already-stained tunic. The second came only a few seconds after, worse than the first, and you let out a scream loud enough to frighten a flock of crows from a nearby tree. You felt warmth on your back. Whenever you moved, you could feel the lashes rubbing against the dirty & coarse clothing, made doubly worse by the dull, throbbing pain of the arrows. The third came nearly half a minute later, unexpected, and you screamed again. Then the fourth, fifth & sixth came in quick succession. You felt bile rise in your throat, spilling out onto the too-soft grass beneath you, onto the lumber in front of you. The seventh, eight, ninth and tenth came and went, and in your shocked, adrenaline-addled state, you barely felt them. You felt yourself grow weaker against the pole, the too-warm sensation of your own blood running down your back almost a comfort. Eadwulf said something else, you don't quite remember, and then the crowd dispersed. You were left there to die a martyr.
You don't know exactly when you had passed out, but you awoke during the quiet coolness of the night to a blurry image of the strange hooded Norse woman in front of you, cursing. "Are you still alive, kona? Stay with me," she said, voice somehow strained yet comforting all the same. You could only barely lift your head to look her in the eye, to which she cursed a little more colorfully. "I'm getting you out of here." She cut you loose from the wood, and helped you to stand (which you could barely do) before realizing that wasn't really an option. Cursing even more colorfully, a feat you didn't know she could accomplish, she took her hood off & draped it over your back, making you sharply inhale as the cloth stuck to the dried blood at your back. "I know, little crow. I know it hurts, but please, you must stay with me." She whistled faintly, and a black horse came trotting over, giving you a weary look. Even the animals had pity! Or maybe it didn't want some half-dead creature on it's back. Either way, she set you on the saddle, sitting behind you so that you didn't fall off during the ride, apologizing immediately for any discomfort the position might cause you. Before she could grasp the reins, you stopped her.
"Please…" your voice was hoarse, and you did not recognize it. "Please, my friends, my kin… are they still imprisoned?" The woman made some sort of sound, as if she had forgotten of the others she passed by today. "Yes, they are, but I fear it will be some time before they are freed. When we get back to my home, I will send my best warriors to retrieve them. Does that sound okay?" You could only nod your head, the simple action sending your world off kilter. She bid the horse to trot out of Canterbury to an unknown destination, breaking into a full gallop once you had left the city's boundaries. Both you and the Norsewoman understood you had mere hours left. She tried to keep you awake on the journey, asking questions about your name, clan and where you were from, though she mostly got one-worded answers.
"Are you a Dane?" "Yes." You pass over a bridge, the woods of England looking all the same to you.
"Why have you come here?" "Storm." An answer she didn't understand at the time, but continued regardless. The landscape slowly changed from forest to open plain, then to forest, then to marsh. You crossed two more bridges. It was your turn to ask the questions.
"What is your name?" Your speech was slurred, more incoherent. "Eivor."
"Why were you in Canterbury?" A question that she did not outright answer. "Looking for someone."
"Where are we going?"
"Ravensthorpe." A place you did not know, nor seen on any map.  "We're almost there. Stay with me."
You couldn't fight to stay awake anymore. "I'm sorry," was all you said before slumping forward on her horse.
She thought you'd died, grabbing hold of your wrist and feeling a wave of relief at finding your faint pulse. She rode twice as hard to her home then, only taking another hour.
When you awoke, you were not dead, nor in your own bed, and could feel bandages straining around your chest, and the scent of herbs filled your senses.

Unspoken Words
Moonie’s Writing Challenge Part 1: Luminous
Pairing: Young Snape x Slytherin Female Reader
Prompt:  “If we get caught, it’s your fault!”
Summary: With the last few months of your time at Hogwarts coming to an end, you plan a night under the stars with your boyfriend Severus.
Word Count: 5554
A/N: Phew. There were moments where I thought I wouldn’t be able to get this out in time but I’m so glad I was able to do it! It was a bit rushed (it’s been a long month), but hopefully when the semester ends, part 2 will come out a little quicker (and maybe written better >.<). Thank you @moonie-writes for your support and your patience! I hope it turned out alright.
Tumblr media
If there was one thing you’d regretted most during your Hogwarts years, it was definitely your lack of adventure. The castle alone held such historic and powerful stories within its walls, it was a shame you hadn’t explored every crevice, every hidden passageway and appreciated just how much magic flowed through every stone the last seven years you spent in this majestic school. You’d missed out on a lot and to make it worse, you were mere months away from graduating, months away from leaving Hogwarts behind forever. All you’d cared about the first five years of school spending each night studying in the depths of the library, was your reputation and your academia. Knowledge is power as they say, but for you, it was much more than that. Knowledge opened doors, kept your options wide. Knowledge was a comfort for you because books could never let you down. Of course, it was no surprise to anyone that you’d found yourself taking as many N.E.W.T classes as you could the last two years, not even your boyfriend who seemed to be the only person to support your thirst for academics.
Naturally, you were teased within your own house for your obsession with books and your need to expand your horizon, but you knew the Sorting Hat placed you in Slytherin for a reason. ‘Strong mind, a great need to prove yourself. Yes, plenty of potential, indeed…’ You were almost positive you’d be placed in Slytherin and clearly the Sorting Hat shared the same sentiment, but you couldn’t help your doubts rise every time someone pointed out your affinity for knowledge or the fact that your test scores ranked highest of your year, above any Ravenclaw. It wasn’t until you’d met Severus, hidden in the darkest corner of the library with so many books stacked around him, it sort of appeared as if he was using them as building blocks for a wall to separate him and the rest of Hogwarts. He was closed off at first when you started speaking to one another, but you didn’t mind. You were happy spending your time together in silence as you both studied. Severus never knew how overjoyed you were to find another Slytherin just as invested in books as you were. You wouldn’t have minded if you never spoke to each other after that first encounter, you were just happy to know you weren’t alone. The simple knowledge that your passions were shared with one of your housemates was enough to keep you smiling.
But if neither of you spoke to the other after that evening, you would have missed out on yet another milestone during your days at Hogwarts, one that it seemed Severus had been searching for long before anyone else at this school. Finding someone you could enjoy the company of, trust with your heart, someone to give you hope. It was an experience no one should ever miss out on and you were glad that you’d at the very least managed to find your other half during your time here. Your studies at Hogwarts really wouldn’t have been complete without Severus and tonight, you were hoping to enjoy a very special night with him, a night you’d been looking forward to the last few months as you monitored and studied the stars.
“This is ridiculous.” The greeting your boyfriend gave as soon as you entered his dorm was really much more serene than you’d expected, or at least, his tone was. Usually when he’d protest, he’d be much more firm and demanding, but it seemed this time, his protests fell a bit short. You suspected that this was likely because he was secretly just as excited as you for tonight. Even if he wouldn’t admit it, you could see that twinkle in his eyes when he looked at you as he prepared for your evening. “Why do you even care so much about this?”
“Because Sev, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!” you said, walking around to stand beside him and take his hands in yours. “Come on! You can’t graduate Hogwarts without sneaking out at least once!”
You began to soothingly rub small circles into the back of his hand with your thumb, smiling up at him and hoping that would be the end of the long string of protests he’d started ever since you’d brought up the idea of spending a night under the stars with him. The first day you’d brought it up, he looked at you as if you’d gone mad and dismissed it. But of course, you were relentless and continued to bring it up until he’d agreed.
“I don’t see why I have to be there. You should go without me,” he said, pulling his hand away, tugging on the sleeve of his robes too short for his lanky arms.
“No, Sev! I want you there!” You said, hooking a finger under his chin to bring his attention back to you. His eyes still cared so much misplaced shame, so much regret for the way his life had turned out, but you were determined to help rid him of all that and replace it with nothing but admiration and prosperity. “Please?”
Your soft tone and pleading eyes pierced his heart, as it always had, and he felt himself letting go of any worry or doubt over the plans you’d made for the night. He wondered at times if you’d somehow managed to discover a spell similar to that of the imperius curse, leaving its victim with nothing but trust and love for the person who’d cast it. It would surely explain a lot about the past year he’d spent thinking about nothing but your happiness.
With a final reluctant sigh, he grasped at his bedsheets and began folding the topmost layer; a thin green cotton blanket that you’d continuously insisted one of you bring on your little adventure. Despite the fact that he knew you were aware of how much he hated blind risks, you still insisted on keeping it a surprise and it irritated him more than he would ever admit to you that you continued to refuse to share your plan with him. “If we get caught, it’s your fault!”
“Don’t worry,” you said as you took the other end of the blanket and helped him fold it. “I have the perfect spot for us.”
You finished folding the blanket and Severus took it, holding it over his joint hands. He looked at you and gave a small pout as a final resort which of course, did nothing but make you smile. He knew there was no point in asking, but he just couldn’t help himself. His heart was beating out of his chest in anticipation for tonight and he wanted to feel prepared. “Will you tell me where we’re going now?”
You sighed and rolled your eyes at him. Crossing your arms, you shifted your weight to one side and gave him a scolding look. “I told you…”
“It’s a surprise,” you both said in unison, his tone much more venomous than yours. You frowned, never able to get used to his snarky demeanor even after all these years. You’d especially hated it when he’d poke fun of you like that, but you weren’t about to let that get in the way of what you had planned tonight. You were going to enjoy your time and spend a beautiful evening with your loving boyfriend.
“Please, just a hint?” He tried again, despite knowing the answer. “At least tell me how far we’re going.”
“No! Now, come on! Almost everyone’s left already!” You pulled on his sleeve and urged him to follow you as you left his dorm. You were tired of his nonsense in all honesty. He should’ve learned by now to trust you and know that you’d never put either of you in danger, yet he still continued to doubt you. You knew when you’d started dating you’d have to stay patient with him. He wasn’t one to stand foolish behaviour and at first, you’d found it quite complimented your outlandish humour, but after a while, his sly comments got a bit tiresome and you wished he’d let loose a little rather than take everything so seriously.
“Relax Sev, this is going to be fun,” you said, hooking your arm through his, hugging it to your chest as you walked through the nearly empty common room to the exit. The sun had yet to set which gave you plenty of time to sneak out of the castle without being seen.
Closing the door behind you, the dimmed lights from the torches illuminating the halls, you began to lead Severus towards the Entrance Hall and just when you’d reached the top of the stairs exiting the dungeons, you heard some rather brisk footsteps heading your way. Quickly pulling on Severus’ arm, you silently rushed toward the door near the staircase leading to the basement. Leaving it slightly ajar, you hid in the unknown room, Severus immediately reaching to grab your hand.
“These bloody children are acting like absolute buffoons!” McGonagall's voice travelled through the crack between the door you held and its frame. Your heart beat furiously against your chest, praying you wouldn’t get caught when you hadn’t even managed to reach your destination. You could tell Severus’ concern was growing larger than yours as he anxiously squeezed your hand. He’d trusted you and you bloody well was not about to turn around and listen to him whisper ‘I told you so’ when you hadn’t even been caught yet. “Start with the basement and dungeons Filch. I suspect none of us will find sleep tonight.”
“Of course Professor,” spoke the crinkled voice of the caretaker you’d been lucky enough to avoid getting detention from all these years at Hogwarts. “Mrs. Norris and I will catch any wandering students.”
Looking down at their feet, you saw a raggedy looking cat glaring in your direction, her eyes piercing yours. Jolting back, you pressed your back against the wall, your palm gripping onto the doorknob as your other hand slipped from Severus’ grasp and wrapping around his shoulder instead, pulling him closer to you. Severus instinctively wrapped an arm around your waist and rested his chin on your shoulder, your fear for the consequences of getting caught shared between you as you both held on to one another.
The sound of footsteps followed as you heard Filch and McGonagall part ways but neither of you could move a muscle in fear the cat had stuck around in suspicion. You could feel Severus’ breath quicken against your neck, his grip on you tightening and you knew he was upset about the situation you were in. He likely blamed you for it and was about ready to give you a long lecture about how he didn’t want to sneak out in the first place. While you understood his perspective and shared his worry about getting caught, you just couldn’t bear the thought of missing out on yet another adventure if you hadn’t taken the risk and nor could you stand being scolded by him for something that had yet to happen.
After a few short moments, you slowly looked back through the crack of the door and saw the hall completely empty. Deciding it was safe to continue on your way, you slowly began to push the door open when you felt a hand jolt over yours, stopping you in your tracks.
“(Y/N), this is a bad idea,” Severus spoke with such vexation in his voice, his hand tightly wrapped around yours like he was about to stop you from making the biggest mistake in your life. “They’re clearly increasing their patrols tonight. We should just head back.”
Taking your hand off the doorknob, you pushed him back, having just about enough of his attitude. It was within his right to protest of course, but you’d never asked him for much before. You’d always been the one to follow the rules growing up and you were ready to have just a bit of fun before graduating. It would do him absolutely no harm just to support you for once rather than try to impose what he thought was best.
“No! Severus I’ve been looking forward to this all month! Besides, you heard McGonagall, Flich is heading to the dungeons as we speak. We’d be better off going our own way then risking going back now.”
Turning around, you pushed the door open and walked back out to the Entrance Hall. Without looking back, you marched straight out towards the courtyard and like a faithful puppy, you heard Severus’ footsteps following swiftly behind you. At this point, you had begun to wonder if you truly should have gone on your own but the feeling of his nimble fingers brushing against your palm before his hand firmly took yours reminded you of the joy of sharing such moments with him. You loved him and wanted him there with you as you gazed up at the stars enjoying one of the last nights you would have at Hogwarts.
You both walked in silence as you continued to lead him around the parameter of the Black Lake, further and further towards the Forbidden Forest. You were fairly certain at this point you were safe from any staff members, but you knew no words had to be said for either of you to understand the other. Silence was your place of comfort. It's where your relationship started and where you’d always find yourselves again regardless of any disagreements.
The sun had almost set, and the air had begun to cool as the wind settled down for the night. You were nearly there, and the excitement of tonight's event began to settle back into your chest, any worry of being caught melting away as you thought of how you were going to spend your night with Severus under the stars. You were so close to finally reaching your spot when Severus slowed to a stop near the bottom of the hill hidden behind the forest.
“Our first date?” he whispered, his eyes sparkling with memories as he shifted his gaze from the hilltop to you. You simply smiled and nodded, placing your hand over his arm and pulling him closer. You’d hoped that he’d enjoy a night in the spot where you’d had your first official date atop the hill he’d found years before, secluded from the rest of the school. You’d loved its location the first time he’d taken you there; the view of the castle reminding you of the first time you’d arrived at Hogwarts, staring at it in its entirety from the boats taking you to your new home. You knew how important that spot was to him so you knew going back there too often would ruin its allure. And thus, you waited for the perfect moment to return to the spot where he felt safe and comfortable, where you’d shared your first kiss and declared your love for one another.
Severus smiled back, a smirk appearing on his face wider than you’d ever thought you’d live to see and this time, he was the one to surprise you as he began walking at an alarming rate up the hill. You’d almost fallen over from the sudden motion, your hands still firmly connected as you jogged to keep up with him. Your soft giggles filled the delicate air around you with amour as you stopped and peered over the sun setting behind the castle, illuminating it with a halo. The night had yet to begin and the setting was already so perfect.
Offering a hand to Severus, you took one side of the blanket and helped him lay it out on the grass. Quickly taking off your shoes, you crawled up towards him and finally settled yourself down with one arm over his chest and your head lying on his shoulder. Severus’ hair sprawled out as soon as he laid down on the blanket, holding you closely as he shut his eyes and enjoyed the feeling of your warmth against the cool chill of the outdoors. He’d never told you how much he appreciated you, but he hoped you knew that he loved everything you’d ever done for him.
After a short moment, you propped yourself up, leaning on your elbow. Your smile grew when you saw his own, complimenting the blissful look he wore on his face. You could hardly push back the urge to reciprocate his silent ‘I told you so’ from before and though you were glad he’d finally approved of your planned evening together, you couldn’t help but make some sort of comment. “Enjoying yourself?”
“Shut up,” he mumbled, lightly rolling his eyes. You giggled at his defensive tone and slowly slid a hand up his chest, resting it over his shoulder.
“Fine,” you whispered as you leaned forward. You fluttered your eyes, pausing as his lips brushed yours. He jolted forwards in an attempt to connect them, but your hand on his chest kept him down, your lips escaping his as you smiled. You felt his lips tug into a smirk, your breath lightly brushing against his skin before you finally pressed your lips together. You kissed him with a touch so soft, your lips barely moving against his, the sweet taste shared between you so strong that it almost felt like cotton candy melting in your mouth.
Severus slowly rose a hand to tangle his fingers in your hair as the other lazily found your waist. A moment had barely passed before you felt him pressing your lips closer together, your kiss slowly losing its gentle allure, replaced by a growing need to merge with the other. Without parting, you slowly threw a leg over him, straddling him as your chest lowered itself against his. His hands eagerly went to your waist, one of his legs slightly raising itself as you parted for air. Your lips hovered over one other as you both raced to catch your breath.
You slowly felt his hands move from your waist, down to your hips, only stopping at the hem of your skirt when you suddenly pressed your lips against his. You could feel him take in a sharp breath with your surprise kiss, his chest frozen when you parted rather quickly. You smirked at him before moving both your arms to rest on the sides of his head, your lips kissing the corner of his mouth before you slowly started trailing them down towards his jaw and following it towards his neck. You left small love marks below his ear as you felt his hands slowly slipping beneath your skirt to find the smooth skin of your thighs.
Severus let out a sigh, relishing in the contrast of the heat between you and the cool air of the night. You’d switched over to the other side of his neck, shifting down enough to give him a full view of the sky.
“(Y/N),” he whispered to get your attention. “The sun’s set. Look.”
Pausing your motions, you lifted yourself off him and settled in his lap as you looked up to where he’d gestured. Smiling, you watched the subtle twinkle of the early stars appearing against the darkening night sky. Looking to your side, you saw the moon shining brighter than you’d ever seen before, it’s edges crisp and as white as the clouds on a sunny day.
“It’s a beautiful night, isn’t it?” you said, enchanted by the creamy sky, stars slowly beginning to appear one at a time. With the stress of your N.E.W.Ts coming up, you’d almost forgotten what if felt like to be relaxed. You were happy you’d picked a spot outside to watch the stars tonight, the light breeze you felt was a much needed upgrade to the thick air you’d been used to while cramped in the library these last few weeks.
“Yes, it is,” Severus whispered back to you. It was hard to look away from the mesmerizing sight but the hands you felt on your thighs slowly slipping down brought your attention back to him only to find he hadn’t been looking at the sky. Instead of reflecting the stars from above, his eyes twinkled with its own allure for you.
“You’re not even looking!” you giggled, lightly pushing down on his chest to tease him before you removed yourself from him completely and lay on your side, propped up on your elbow.
“I am!” His tone of course protested your claim, but his eyes still tuck to yours, his smile complimenting the shine they held against those black orbs. You reciprocated his grin and gently settled yourself to rest your head on his shoulder. His fingers immediately ran along your hairline as he tucked a few strands behind your ear.
It embarrassed you at first, the way he’d spend what felt like hours at a time staring at your face, his eyes roaming over every feature until they finally settled back to match your own. You knew he especially loved when you’d put your hair up though you suspect he’d rather enjoyed the tease of having to push aside your hair when it was down. You’d gotten so used to this little routine of his over the past year, it honestly stopped bothering you a while ago.
The way he looked at you, you’d never seen anyone look at another human being like that before. It made you feel special, like you were the most important person to have ever walked the earth and of course, to a Slytherin, that gratitude he offered you meant a great deal, especially when you knew how much more he needed such assurance than you. But it hadn’t taken you long for you to return that longing look he gave you because he truly did mean the world to you. He was everything you’d imagined in a partner; loyal, caring, supportive, loving. You’d never imagined falling in love with someone who’d also carried so much baggage with them, but it was his past and his traumas that made him so special and naturally, you were the only one to recognize that.
“(Y/N)?” The distantly muffled sound of your name echoed in your head as your eyes fluttered open. You took a deep break in when you realized you’d fallen asleep on Severus’ chest. “(Y/N) wake up. Look!”
Opening your eyes, you slowly raised yourself off him to see Severus pointing at the sky with a smile on his face. Looking up, you searched the stars a moment until you saw it. A quick flash of blue light disappearing just as quickly as it appeared. Not a moment later, you saw another flash; a purple spot in the sky lighting up as it flickered and moved closer to where you saw the blue light.
“It’s starting!” You exclaimed as you quickly scrambled to sit up and search your robes. You pulled out two objects that looked like muggle binoculars taken from the 19th century and gave Severus one as you laid back down next to him, bringing the other to your eyes. You searched the skies once again, the stars larger and your view much more narrow than before. Your heart beat heavily against your chest, hoping the man you’d bought these mystic objects from during your last Hogsmeade trip hadn’t made false claims when he said they would help you see the Luminous Dancing Fairies set to migrate during the next eclipse. Of course, you didn’t have a reference of what to expect when looking through them since no one had managed to spot them long enough to obtain a proper description, but you hoped you’d at least see more than simple flashes of light. “Wow!”
Fairies began dancing within your view, their wings sparkling with light as they twirled, each with a colour of their own. More and more appeared in the sky as they continued on their way and you noticed the majority shone with blue and purple lights though on occasion, you would spot one with green, yellow or red wings. But the ones with white wings were your favourite. They appeared to be the rarest of their kind yet they shone the brightest of them all, the flashes they emitted almost blinding through those binoculars.
“They’re much more… Energetic than I’d imagined,” Severus said. He himself wasn’t sure what to expect tonight, though he was happy you’d dragged him along to be a part of history. To be one of the first to get a proper glimpse at the creatures Wizard kind spent decades studying from a far, wondering what sort of stories they carried with them as they flew across the galaxy.
“Really? I suppose they have to be if they have to travel for so long.” You smiled at the sound of his curious tone, happy he’d managed to find some interest in the night’s event.
“Thanks for planning this,” he said softly, a small bit of reluctancy present in his voice. He’d regretted giving you such a hard time the last few weeks when it came to your plans for tonight, but even he could admit when he was wrong. Truthfully, the inevitability for your lives diverging after graduation scared him, stressing him out more than usual these last few weeks. He’d spent so long trying to hold onto his relationship with you, focused on spending as much time with you as possible, he’d forgotten what it truly felt like to be with you. He finally felt a sense of comfort tonight and all it took was a simple night under the stars away from any worries of the future.
Setting down the binoculars, you turned over to see his smile shining back at you, his eyes shining almost as bright as the fairies dancing between the stars. You lost yourself in the loving look he gave, hoping the night would never end and he’d learn to let loose a little. Leaning in, you pecked him on his lips, keeping your eyes closed when you parted as your nose stayed an inch from his. You loved the experience of watching the Luminous Dancing Fairies Migrate of course, but sitting here with Severus, watching him enjoy the night with you was what had truly pushed you to plan such a night with him. You knew the night would have turned out perfectly even if those binoculars didn’t work as they were advertised because Severus’ company would have made the night completely worthwhile.
You could never put into words how much you loved him. He had his flaws of course, everyone did but you just couldn’t help the feeling when you first met that he was different to those you’d spoken to, that he was somehow meant for you. Soulmate was quite a strong word to define it and you knew that if you hadn’t grown close to one another as friends before you started dating, you wouldn’t feel the way you did right now. But when you met, when you first started chatting over absolute nonsense, you couldn’t shake the feeling of comfort, a feeling you’d only get if you’d known someone a very long time.
Finally opening your eyes, you snuggled into him, your hand wrapped around his waist, your head laid on his shoulder and your pair of binoculars completely disregarded. You had your fill of the stars tonight and all you needed now was a bit of comfort from the boy you cared so deeply for.
“You’re going to miss the fairies,” he whispered, his own binoculars pushed to the side as he peered down at you, his arms snaking around you and pulled you into him as tightly as he could. The air around you settled as you felt his heart beginning to race against his chest, his own disregard for the stars clear as the moon that shone above.
“I don’t care,” you mumbled back, closing your eyes as your smile stretched wider than before. Severus was hardly one to complain, enjoying the gentle pressure of your weight on his chest much more than watching the fairies dancing in the sky. You both got comfortable as you cuddled together, oblivious to your surroundings and brushing off the subtle sounds of rustling around the edges of the forest to the wind.
“At least two a yer found a spot without disturbin’ half the forest.” You both jolted from your place, turning towards the familiar voice behind you, your hearts stopping as your eyes met with the half giant staring down at you.
“Shit,” you cursed under your breath as you scrambled to jump to your feet, Severus following swiftly after. Everything had gone so well, you’d enjoyed your time under the stars and completely forgotten you were breaking curfew, letting your guard down and ultimately, getting yourself caught by the gamekeeper. But worst of all, Severus had trusted you and you’d completely let him down. His punishment was to be shared with your own for the mistake you’d made.
“Come along then. I’ll take yeh back to the castle,” Hagrid said, gesturing for you to follow. The joy you felt not a moment ago shriveled into nothingness as you looked back at Severus to find him folding up the blanket, already saying goodbye to the wholesome night you were supposed to share together. Pushing down the regret you felt, you walked over to help Severus before looking up at him, your brows furrowed and your eyes heavy with shame.
‘Sorry,’ you mouthed, your heart dropping when he looked away. He was upset with you and rightfully so. You’d promised him nothing would go wrong, that this would be a night worth remembering and of course, it was, you just hadn’t imagined it ending this way. You anticipated nothing more than anger from him if you had gotten caught, but no matter how much you told yourself you could handle it, you just couldn’t bear the disappointment that radiated off of him as you both began to follow Hagrid back to the castle.
The next few minutes went by agonizingly slow and you felt like you were walking to the chopping block, your relationship to be cut in half and killed forever. The agony you felt, each step heavier than the last was unbearable. You wanted nothing more than to reverse time and keep Hagrid from catching you. You would have even settled with going back to the moment you left the common room and just spent the night in there instead of living through this awful moment. The loss of house points and detention you could bear, but you couldn’t come to terms with the disappointment Severus threw your way. You’d offer to take Severus’ punishment and double your detention if you could, anything to keep Severus from suffering through the consequences of a mistake you’d made.
But how bad could it be if Hagrid was the one to catch you? Your punishment would likely be endless if Slughorn or McGonagall caught you. But the heart wrenching thought that Severus would remain angry with you, possibly wishing to never speak to you again seeded itself in the back of your mind. You couldn’t imagine going forward without him by your side. He was your rock, your support, your best friend and you could hardly go on knowing you’d lost someone so important to you. The spiral you’d fallen into had removed you from reality and you’d found yourself going through the motions once again, trying to keep from drowning in this overwhelmed state you’d known all too well.
Your body went into autopilot as you felt your breath taken away from you. Struggling to breath, you tried to run from the barrels of emotions dumped into your mind until you felt the slightest brush of a familiar warmth grasp for your hand and pull you to safety. You’d snapped back to the real world just as fast as you’d left it to find Severus’s fingertips brushing against your palm and with one sly move, your hand was in his. Your mind was blank, all thoughts of his anger towards you vanished as you looked down at your intertwined hands, his grip on you tightening as the seconds passed.
Looking up, your eyes met the softened expression on his face. His eyes gleaming in the moonlight, conveying his love for you. Smiling, your shoulders lightened knowing he wouldn’t let one disappointing night ruin what you’d built together over these last few years. After everything you’d both been through, doubting the bond you had with him was something he could never comprehend, but he’d come to recognize the look of despair on your face and quickly learned that a simple gesture was all you needed to remind you of your inseparable connection. Walking hand in hand, you realized that though your night was over, you’d got to enjoy what little of it you had together as you would finish your journey at Hogwarts together. Nothing could spoil your love for him, and you were happy to face any consequences thrown your way if you were to face them with him by your side.

Soldat Ex Machina
request: Hi lovey! I have a request for a Bucky imagine if you want to write it: on a mission Bucky gets turned back into the winter soldier and is super protective of the reader and he’s like you are my mission and won’t let anyone near her until he’s back and then he admits he loves you?
pairing: Bucky x Reader
word count: 4500 +/-
warnings: angst, descriptive violence, mild language warning, fluff as heck at the end, teeeeeniest tiniest bit of nsfw if you squint
author’s note: Now, I know what you’re thinking.
“Toria, why has your one-shot request turned into 4500 words?”
And all I can say, is I’m weak for Bucky Barnes and natural selection is coming for me.
I loved this fic request. I didn’t know I needed soft(ish?) Winter Soldier until now. I hope I did it justice. Thank you so much to anon for excellent prompting. Peace and love. ~ Toria <3
Tumblr media
“Alright, south-west corridor is clear, Buck. How’s the auditorium looking?”
You glanced behind you to do your fifth head count of the minute, confirming once again that all seven of the captive scientists were with you. The poor guys had been Hydra’s prisoners for weeks now, and your intel suggested they’d been forced to work on a new version of the super soldier serum during their time here.
Obviously, since two super soldiers were more than enough for you to deal with on a day to day basis, you’d been the first to volunteer to shut the operation down and rescue the hostages. As expected, Bucky was hot on your heels with an offer to assist, not solely for the opportunity to screw with Hydra, but also because together, you were a force to be reckoned with.
With a self-assured nod and a quick, reassuring smile at the weary men behind you, you turned your head once more, awaiting Bucky’s response.
“Auditorium’s clear.”
Bucky’s voice did not reach you over the coms, but instead, you found his head rather comically poking out from between the double doors leading to the room in question, a roguish grin plastered on his face on seeing your expression.
“Dumbass.” You muttered quiet enough that you were sure only Bucky could catch it.
You flashed him a grin as he winked at you, while the two of you guided the scientists into the room, scanning the perimeter for hostiles.
Satisfied the coast was clear, you let yourself drop rather dramatically onto a nearby table, checking the magazine of your Beretta nonchalantly as you called out to the scientists, who were huddled in the centre of the room, Bucky at their side.
“The medevac will be wheels down in two minutes, once on board it’ll take you fellas to our… Base of operations, if you will, for a once over. You’ll be back with your families before you know it.”
You glanced up, offering them yet another reassuring smile and meeting Bucky’s gaze, when suddenly, a loud crackle echoed around you in the vacant hall. You were on your feet again in seconds, eyes scanning around for the source of the noise.
“I wouldn’t count on that, Miss Y/L/N.”
A thick German accent came over the intercom system in each corner of the room, the voice practically reverberating in your skull it was so loud. You grimaced, stepping towards Bucky and the now even more terrified hostages as you responded in a bored tone.
“I find it exceptionally hard to take threats from a hunk of plastic. Why don’t you come on down here, and we can talk about it.”
You smirked then, cocking your pistol and spinning it thrice in hand. You glanced across to see Bucky staring incredulously at you, and you shrugged. A wheezing cackle followed over the speakers.
“I admire your spirit, Miss Y/L/N, and you and Mr. Barnes have performed, exceptionally, so far. But I think now it is time to… Raise the stakes… A little bit.”
You could hear the cockiness in his tone, too self-assured for a man armed with a karaoke kit.
“We’re leaving. Now.” You murmured to Bucky.
He gave you a subtle nod in agreement as you both turned on your heels, guiding the scientists hastily towards the exit.
Suddenly, the way was blocked by a team of nine men all in black, armed to the teeth with automatics. No sooner had you turned to tell Bucky to cover you while you went on the offensive, than a loud crack resonated around the room, and before you could react, a small metal dart had lodged itself in Bucky’s neck.
He let out a grunt of discontent, yanking the syringe out and staring at it, dumbfounded for a moment, before it fell from his grasp and clattered to the floor.
“Bucky!”
You cried out, running towards him just in time to catch his weight as he lurched forward, eyes glassy and dazed expression fixed on your face. You gave a start of despair, rounding on your assailants with a snarl.
“What the hell is this? What have you done to him?”
A grating chuckle came over the speaker once more, and the voice from earlier was all around you, mocking, inescapable.
“Allow me to demonstrate… Žilánie.”
You stared at Bucky incredulously for a beat. This wouldn’t work, all the training Bucky had done in Wakanda had given him control over his Winter Soldier state.
“Ržávyj.”
Bucky’s eyes widened in horror and he pushed you away with a cry, hands gripping his head furiously. You could only watch in sheer terror as the unknown assailant continued to list off his trigger words, and Bucky, despite his best efforts, seemed to be submitting to their effect.
The dart.
Somewhere in the back of your panic-stricken mind, clarity rung through the chaos like the chime of a bell. Whatever concoction that dart contained, must have done something to his mind, made it… Accessible.
You fought back a retch, staring at Bucky with a look that was as much an apology as it was fear. Even on your best day you couldn’t beat Bucky. You were good, but you weren’t a super soldier. Right now, all you could do was get the seven men under your care to safety, and hope Barnes wouldn’t kill you in the process.
As the final words of the cycle were upon you, you looked around the room desperately for an escape. In the panic of watching the Winter Soldier reanimate before your eyes, you’d failed to notice the arrival of three more agents, blocking the door you had entered from. There was no way out.
You moved closer to the now-despairing hostages, muttering to them in a low tone, as calmly as you could muster.
“When I give the signal, you guys take cover. If I d-… If something happens, the medevac will be on the East side of the building-”
“Gruzavój vagón”
Your eyes snapped up in horror, fixating on the man who stood where your partner had once been. Cold, unfeeling eyes stared back, and for a moment, you dared not breath.
Bucky…
Settling your resolve, you gripped your Beretta. You may not make it out of here, but you still might get these men home to their families, at the very least. You’d barely uttered the word “go” to the men behind you before you were taking a shot at the nearest Hydra agent on your right, getting off as many rounds as you could before gunfire rained down on you like a hailstorm. You ducked for cover under a metal table, wincing as shots flew just centimetres from your head.
“Get the scientists, I want each of them brought back ALIVE.”
That damn voice again. You cursed, peaking around from your hiding spot to see a few of the armed men abandon their post by the door to surround the scientists, who had only made it as far as an overturned table, some ten metres away from you, in the ensuing chaos.
Crap.
You made a break for it, taking out a two more assailants with some strategically placed gunfire as you went. You were almost upon the five that were closing in on your targets, when suddenly you were thrown to the floor with a rather undignified clatter. Rolling into a crouch, you looked up to find a man the size of a bear towering over you, a gleeful yet sinister smirk on his face.
“Going somewhere, little mouse?”
You snarled, launching yourself to your feet and aiming a jab at his solar plexus. The man chuckled as your fist connected, apparently not at all phased by the assault, and proceeded to headbutt you, sending you flying back to the ground.
You groaned, gripping your head as you scrambled to get back on your feet. Before you were up however, terrifyingly strong hands gripped your throat, pulling you up off the group and hanging you there like a rag-doll.
You let out a strangled cry, frantically scratching and kicking to find some reprieve from the man’s monstrous grip on you, but every time you landed a punch, he’d simply smirk, obviously enjoying your struggle.
Prick.
Just as you thought your number may be up, you were forced to stifle a scream and a knife whizzed past your skull, embedding itself deep into your attacker’s eye socket. As the man dropped to the ground, his hold on you going entirely limp, you gasped, spinning on one heel in search of your saviour, and almost passed out yourself when your eyes connected with Bucky’s.
Except, that wasn’t Bucky. That was the Winter Solider. So, what in the hell was he doing taking out Hydra agents and saving your life?
Holding your gaze in those steel blue eyes for only a second longer, the Soldier turned, taking out two approaching opponents with unnerving precision and efficiency. You were vaguely aware of shouting off to your left, and you turned just in time to see one of the scientists you were supposed to be rescuing get taken down, the other six trying, but failing, to make a stand behind him.
You shot a last, weary glance towards the Soldier, who was currently in the process of disarming and… Oh… Dismembering… The three agents who had been guarding the entrance to the back corridor.
With a grimace, you took off running. Realising in dismay that your pistol had been lost in your earlier struggle, you grabbed a nearby stool, bringing it down with all your might on the head of the agent closest to you. As their comrade went down, in unison, the four others turned to you, eyes gleaming with furious blood lust.
“My bad.” You muttered.
You shot them a smirk, your eyes twinkling with malice as you prepared yourself. However, just as the man furthest to your left moved to shoot, a knife lodged itself into he back of his hand with a dull thump. Before anyone could react, including the man himself, the Winter Soldier was upon him, metal arm lashing out to strike him in the jugular, causing the man fall uselessly to the ground.
You scowled, as the other three sprung into action, and you moved to take on the assailant directly in front of you. But before you could get within striking distance, the Soldiers grip was on your arm, tossing you backwards. You rolled over your shoulder, landing in a crouched position just behind him, shooting him an affronted glare. However, he was not looking back at you, and had already resumed his one man-wrecking crew assault on the Hydra agents that remained.
Uttering a few, choice expletives under your breath, you glanced around, gaze coming to rest on the seven terrified men huddled behind an overturned table to your right.
Oh, yeah. Your mission.
You took the opportunity to close the distance between you and your targets finally, dragging each of the men to their feet and guiding them towards the now-unoccupied exit.
“Alright, fellas. This party’s getting a little boring. What’d’ya say we blow this joint?”
The captive scientists nodded fervently in unison, helping each other to their feet as you ushered the towards the exit. As you swung the door open, you came face to face with one of the S.H.I.E.L.D agents in charge of the medevac team, staring dumbly at him for a second.
“Uh… We just thought… You guys were taking a while.” He glanced down at you warily as you raised a brow.
“Ran into some trouble, better later than never, hey?” You murmured in a honeyed tone.
The agent nodded curtly, and cleared his throat, nodding towards the men huddled behind you.
“If you’re ready, ma’am.” He muttered, turning on his heel and gesturing towards the helo, freezing as you caught his wrists in your steely grip.
“I’m not finished here. Take the hostages back to Fury, we’ll find our own way home.”
And with that, before the S.H.I.E.L.D agent could object, you gestured for the exhausted group behind you to follow him, sprinting back into the building without a moment’s hesitation.
Once inside, you surveyed the scene in front of you, tallying the bodies that littered the floor.
You counted all twelve hostiles, noting with mild apprehension that some had bullet wounds in their foreheads where none had been before.
It was at that moment that movement in the shadowy corner of the hall caught your attention, and you froze, body trembling with both adrenaline and exhaustion. You took an instinctual step back as the Winter Soldier materialised out of the darkness, his merciless gaze fixated on you.
“We should leave. More will come.” He spoke in a tone entirely void of emotion, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand on edge.
“Why should I go anywhere with you, soldat?” You challenged; arms crossed as you narrowed your eyes at the man.
Yes, he had just saved your life. But this was still the Winter Soldier, and you were anything but an optimist.
The Soldier didn’t reply. Instead, he closed the space between you so rapidly that you barely had time to flinch as he took your arm in his cold, metal grasp, dragging you after him as he moved towards the exit.
You struggled against him, frantically trying to tug your arm free, but to no avail.
“What the hell are you doing?”
No response.
“Bucky.”
Nothing.
With a growl of discontent, you opted for a new tactic.
“Zachem ty eto delayesh'?” (“Why are you doing this?”) You snarled at him venomously, causing the Soldier to stop dead in his tracks.
When he said nothing, you tried once more, your voice softening substantially on seeing the confusion in his face. It almost looked like your Bucky when you hit him with a pop culture reference.
“Kto ya dlya tebya?” (“Who am I to you?”) You whispered.
You fixed him with a pleading stare, finally ceasing your incessant attempts at escaping his grasp. The Soldier turned to face you completely, his flesh hand coming up to grip your free arm as he looked you dead in the eyes. You swore you saw a flicker of something in their inky depths.
“Vy moya missiya seychas.” (“You are my mission now.”)
His voice was still entirely expressionless, and yet his words hit you so hard you might have stumbled backwards had he not had a vice-like grip on you.
There was a moments silence as you found yourself trapped in the Soldier’s gaze. Your mind whirled to make sense of his words, and your mouth hung open uselessly, unable to muster a response.
With a sigh, your companion muttered something about finding shelter, dragging you once more behind him.
However, despite his brutish mannerisms and the fact he was still, in fact, the Winter Soldier, this time, you found yourself complying.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Forty-five minutes and a lot of awkward silence later, the two of you were held up in a small, abandoned barn on the outskirts of the next town over. Bucky, or rather, the Soldier, stood in the doorway, lifeless eyes scanning the horizon relentlessly. You, on the other hand, were sat a healthy distance away, lent up against a metal trough, your whole-body trembling from a combination of the dropping temperature and furious trepidation.
What in the hell were you supposed to do with this situation?
Obviously, something had gone wrong with the Soldier’s programming, and as far as you could tell, he didn’t want to kill you. Which was good. However, he was still the Winter Soldier. That was less good. The real question, was how on earth were you going to get Bucky back in the driver’s seat?
You were brought out of your heavy thoughts by black-clad legs entering your line of sight, and your eyes snapped up in shock, your body instinctively tensing.
“You’re cold.”
The Soldier’s voice held no warmth as he made his observation, his vacant eyes fixated on you. You cleared your throat, running a hand casually through your hair as you shrugged.
“I didn’t plan on making this a two-day trip, if I’d known we were camping out I’d have brought my sweats.”
His expression did not falter for even a second, and you frowned. Not that you’d expected him to break into a fit of giggles, but, geez. Tough crowd.
Instead, you watched attentively he pulled his leather jacket off, carefully ignoring the way his muscles rippled under his shirt as he did so. Without a word, he dropped the jacket over your knees, which were currently curled up to your chest. You practically purred as you tugged the jacket tighter around you, the ghost of his body heat still present on the material.
“Thanks, comrade.” You murmured, eyeing him tentatively.
He turned on his heel to return to his post but stopped short when you cleared your throat once more. By the time he turned back to face you, your arm was extended, offering him a bottle of water you had stashed in your tactical gear.
“Consider it a peace offering.” You said matter of factly.
He gave you a dubious look, the most expression you’d seen on his face all night, you noted, as you settled down against the wall to rest. Nevertheless, he took the bottle with a curt nod of appreciation, before making his way back to the doorway, taking a drink of the water as he went.
Ten seconds later, and you found yourself wincing as the Soldier’s body dropped like a sack of potatoes to the ground, water bottle discarded at his side.
You didn’t feel great about using the sedatives you kept in your medical kit on the guy. Really, you didn’t, but…
You shakily got to your feet, draping Bucky’s jacket back over him as you gave him a once over for injuries. When you were satisfied that he was unharmed from the fall, you moved a little way off, leaning against a hay-bale as you watched him through bleary, sleep-addled eyes.
“Sorry, Buck. But I can’t risk losing you.” You whispered into the darkness, shuddering as the howling wind sent a chill through your bones.
This was going to be a long night.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The next morning, you woke from a sleep you’d never meant to have. You’d been dutifully watching over Bucky’s body all night; in case he woke from his drug-induced slumber. However, it was becoming increasingly apparent as consciousness returned to you, that at some point, you yourself had passed out.
Your breath caught in your throat as your gaze slid over to the pile of hay on which you’d left your teammates unconscious form. A pile of hay that was now unquestionably vacant.
Crap.
Within seconds, you were sprinting out of the barn, rounding off a list of expletives so colourful it’d make Cap’ blush.
Please don’t be gone, please don’t be gone, please don’t be-
You skidded to a halt as you approached the brow of the hill on which the barn was stationed, stifling a sob of relief as your eyes homed in on a familiar form sitting on the grass, his body silhouetted by the rising sun.
“Bucky?” You uttered in a breathy gasp.
His head snapped around to face you then, and as you tentatively made your way towards him, you could just about make out the tension in his shoulders, the crease in his forehead. That was Bucky alright.
“Y/N…” He murmured as you came to rest, knelt by his side.
You could see the confusion in his eyes, the worry in his clenched jaw. How long had he been out here, torturing himself over the blank pages in his memory?
“You’re awake…” You spoke slowly, almost as if in a dream. “How much do you remember…?”
Bucky swallowed hard, his gaze shifting from you to focus on the ever-rising sun, far off in the distance.
“I remember the words. Then… Nothing. What did I do?” His woeful tone made your heart ache.
You sucked in air, rubbing the back of your neck as you offered him a cautious explanation.
“Uh… Well… You kind of sort of, took out the entirety of the Hydra forces and saved my life…?”
Bucky’s head snapped back around, wide, curious eyes practically burning through your own as he processed your words.
“I… Didn’t hurt you?” He whispered, so low you had to strain to hear it.
You smiled, unable to mask the light pink hue in your cheeks at the memory. At the time, you’d almost crapped your pants. But now, after the fact, the realisation that Bucky, even under the control of Hydra, had chosen to protect you, made your chest stutter uncomfortably.
“Ah… No. The opposite in fact.”
Bucky’s face cracked with relieved, a soft smile playing on his lips, and you couldn’t help but notice how beautiful his profile looked, highlighted by the first rays of morning light. After a few minutes of comfortable silence, in which you both lost yourselves in your respective musings, you broke the stillness with a shy cough.
“Hey… Buck? When I asked you if you knew me, while you were… You know… You told me that I was your mission, what do you think you meant by that?”
Even in the blinding light of the sun’s rays, you noticed Bucky going an unmistakably bright shade of red, unable to meet your gaze. He turned his head away from you, studiously focusing on the scenery in front of him in mutinous silence. You let out a breath of dismay, scooting your body around his tensed form to kneel in from of him, crouching on the balls of your feet and forcing him to look at you.
“Bucky?” You called to him in a gentle, yet insistent tone.
You’re not shutting me out, Mr. Barnes. Not today.
He grunted in response, still unable to meet your incessant stare, but you noticed his features soften as he let out a sigh of defeat.
“I… Guess I wanted to protect you. Even then.” He confessed in a barely-there whisper.
You swallowed. Hard.
“But how? Why? With your mind under their control-”
“There’s forces stronger than Hydra’s science in this world, Y/N.” The uncertainty in his voice had all but vanished as he cut you off, replaced by candour that made your heart do that strange, fluttery thing again.
He finally brought his eyes away from the view behind you to meet your gaze with such sincerity, such intensity, that you found yourself unable to move, unable to speak, or even think. In that moment, there was only Bucky.
When you finally forced your mouth to summon an admittedly limited choice in words, your voice was distinctly horse.
“Like… What?”
Bucky held your gaze, his metal hand tenderly moving to grasp your flesh one, his cheeks flushed crimson. Despite his obvious reticence, there was no hesitation in his eyes as he spoke in a low, gravelly tone.
“Like being madly in love with the best person you know.”
After a beat, your mouth dropped open, eyes wide. All you could do was gawk at him then, totally floored by the declaration.
Surely, he didn’t mean you?
Surely Steve was more qualified for the moniker of ‘best person Bucky knows’?
Surely-
“I’m talking about you, dumbass.”
Bucky flashed you a wry smile, apparently reading your thoughts. You remained stock-still, your mind struggling so hard to process what you were being told, you could have sworn you heard the dial-up internet noise from within its depths.
Bucky Barnes was in love with you. Bucky. Your mission partner. Your best friend. Your… Your…
Almost as if under a spell, you found your body lurching forward of its own accord, your lips crushing against Bucky’s so hard you were sure you’d bruise. It would not have surprised you if fireworks had appeared on the horizon in that moment, for the joy, passion and sheer bliss that exploded in your core at the sensation of Bucky’s lips against yours.
After a moment of stunned pause, Bucky’s senses seemed to return to him, as he eagerly caught your waist in his sturdy grasp, pulling you weightlessly into his lap so that your legs straddled him. The hand that had been holding your own trailed up your arm, coming to rest tangled in the hair at the nape of your neck, pulling you closer into his embrace, and you responded by snaking your arms around his shoulders, nails digging lightly into his back as lips gave way to tongues, and you and Bucky lost yourselves in each other.
When you were finally forced to pull apart for need of oxygen, you were both lightly panting, lips swollen and bruised and eyes heavy-lidded with passion. You rested your forehead against his own as Bucky rubbed light circles into your back, a warm smile crossing his lips.
“What was that for?” He whispered to you, his voice thick with desire.
You grinned, pulling away ever-so-slightly to meet his tender gaze.
“Well, I could have just told you I love you, too. But you know, actions speak louder and all that…”
Bucky let out a low chuckle, leaning up to press a light kiss to your forehead, making you grin as your cheeks reddened. This was crazy, to be sitting like this, doing this, with Bucky. And yet, nothing had ever felt more natural to you.
You gave a reluctant sigh, clearing your throat as you murmured to him.
“You know we should probably start heading back-…”
You trailed off, losing your sentence in confusion as Bucky slid one hand easily under your thigh, holding you against him as he stood and began to make his way back towards the barn.
“Uh… Bucky… What are you doing?”
He smiled then, the way Lucifer might have smiled before being cast out of heaven, before he playfully landed a kiss on your jaw, making your stomach flutter deliciously.
“If actions speak louder, then let me show you just how much I love you, every inch of you, inside and out, in fact.” He murmured against your ear, the warm tickle of his breath making your spine tingle.
You bit your lip, tangling your hands in his hair as Bucky’s teasing lips trailed from your jaw to your neck, and back up. After a moment of divine torture, storm blue eyes found yours, and you and Bucky gazed adoringly at one another. A silent promise was uttered between you, as the dimness of the barn consumed you both, that this marked the first day of a new beginning.

It was the end of an era.
“But at least we survived.”
***
“We are the last,” Cin Drallig walked up to the Togruta master as she stood before the Temple, the last to have stepped out of the building. She stared up at the untouched face, the giant sculpted statues of guardians before looking out, standing straight and at attention, ready for the end. Reading to protect their home until the last moment, to stand until they could no more. She set her hand on the base of the stone and bowed her head.
“Is there a ship ready?” Shaak Ti asked, her voice quiet as she pressed her forehead to the marble face, the smooth material cool on her skin. Her montrals and lekku chilled.
“Yes,” Cin replied, calmly patiently waiting for Shaak Ti’s farewells. She knew he was serene and he had little worry over their escape. What was one more ship to leave the planet. “Commander Cody, a few of the straggling last of the 501st and Obi-Wan are waiting.”
Shaak Ti sighed and stood back, her hand tracing across the surface, the last touch of her home. It wouldn’t be long until the flames from the other parts of the Temple would reach back, burning the remnants of what was left. “It is only a building,” she noted. She had told herself the same phrase over and over again during the course of the evacuation and escape, every time she walked back inside to retrieve another group of Jedi and clones. It is only a building. It was true but that seldom made it any less easier.
“It is rarely just a building,” Cin added, standing next to her. He took her hand and squeezed it gently, projecting as much warmth and assurance as he could. It was not something that was generally ordinary for him to do. “It was our home, the safest place to rest our heads, to converse with each other and the Force. It was our history and education, our art and literature. That of which can be mourned but we ourselves are still here and we can pass along what we know. We survive and therefore, so does our home.”
The Togruta shot Cin a soft smile. “Thank you,” she murmured, her lekku twitching in some form of vague amusement. “Look at you, being all sentimental.”
He shrugged as he shot her an equally charmed glance. “You aren’t a youngling to boss around, teach or discipline. Come on, let’s go home,” he urged, gesturing away from the building. Oh how the sentiments changed, from the building to that of the people.
She nodded and followed him as he led her away from the Temple, towards the lone gunship that was readying to leave the platform. Steps were measured and heavy but they made their way quickly back to those waiting for them.
Obi-Wan was standing right outside the ship while the others huddled in, waiting expectantly for them. Shaak Ti couldn’t imagine how tired and exhausted he must be, and no one could have ever known at first glance, as he stood strong and steadfast, straight at attention with the most determined expression upon his face. She wondered if he would ever truly be able to become a jedi again, rather than a general.
As she approached, she took Obi-Wan’s hand and returned the gesture Cin had granted her with a soothing squeeze. “Come, Obi-Wan.”
“We have a lot of work to do,” he replied, calmly as he followed her and Cin into the gunship. The battlemaster made a motion to the pilot and the gunship started to rise, although the sides had not yet closed so they could see outward.
“We have family still,” Shaak Ti assured. “We will endure, as always.”
The three of them stood next to one another with the troopers unashamedly sitting together in the corners and sides of the ship, holding each other in comfort of their ordeal. Cin, Shaak Ti and Obi-Wan watched as the Temple started to shrink, the smoke from the fires curling in and out of the building.
“There is no emotion, there is peace,” Shaak Ti quoted, firmly, holding her head higher, curling her hand around Obi-Wan’s tighter.
“There is no passion, there is harmony,” Cin agreed, evenly.
There was a pause and Obi-Wan took a deep breath, closing his eyes for that long moment. “There is no chaos,” he started, his eyes opened and pinned on the smoking Temple. “There is harmony.”
After a few moments of silence from them, with only the whipping wind and growl of the gunship’s engine, a part of the Temple blew out. It was a small area, Madame Nu’s work, they knew. She had kept her word; she had destroyed the archives. Debris crumbled in on itself as the detonation had been strategically placed for the walls and figures to help destroy more, if the initial explosion hadn’t done a well enough job.
The fire didn’t particularly get any bigger, but the smoke plumes definitely did. It curled up into the air, higher and higher, thicker and blacker than ever before. Even though the Temple had not been completely destroyed, it felt more final than anything else. No living soul left within its walls, their knowledge and love gone, left, demolished.
The Temple soon disappeared from view as the sides of the gunship closed completely and the lights turned on, allowing those inside to see one another faintly.
“To Kamino,” Obi-Wan murmured as he caught the gaze of his fellow Jedi.
“Should we be preparing for an assault?” Cin Drallig asked, raising an eyebrow curiously. For the first time since this whole ordeal started, Obi-Wan perked within the force and even on his face, he had a knowing smirk. It wasn’t much, but it was something.
“Not at all, Master,” he said and glanced at his commander, who finally stood up from the side of one of the 501st members that was in the corner. “The troopers on Kamino have requested to assist us in our future endeavor, wherever that may lead.”
Both he and Shaak Ti narrowed their eyes at him. “What, exactly, do you mean, Master?” Shaak Ti asked although all she could feel was an unknown thrill curling up her spine.
“I had warned one of the troopers I knew, Captain Alpha-17 about what had happened and asked him perhaps to look into the chips,” Obi-Wan replied with a fond look, his shoulders sagging just the barest movement. “He took that instead to go to war and commit mutiny against everyone else on planet, including the new Empire. Said although their first loyalty was to the Republic and second to the Jedi, the Republic no longer exists and therefore, their loyalty. I…offered a place for them amongst us.”
Shaak Ti and Cin nodded in agreement. “Of course,” Shaak Ti approved. There would be little to no argument from the jedi, especially not from her.
“He and Commander Colt were already planning on it,” Obi-Wan shook his head, amused by the notion. “They have been doing their own evacuations.”
For the first time in a long time, Shaak Ti heard Cin burst out into a bark of laughter. The man wasn’t particularly into that sort of thing, everyone knew, and rarely did he show such a blatant display. Obi-Wan jumped, staring at Cin in utter complete shock and disbelief.
“Oh, just when you think they can’t get any better,” Cin practically sniggered.
Obi-Wan just stared at him as if he was looking at someone else entirely.
Shaak Ti squeezed a hand on Obi-Wan’s shoulder. “That is excellent news, Obi-Wan,” she assured. “It is very good we can save as many lives as we can. And saving the young ones and cadets particularly is always an excellent and admirable inclination.”
Obi-Wan nodded, trying to shake himself from his shocked stupor. “Uhm, yes. Yes. Seven and Commander Colt have been heading this up. I was…. pleasantly surprised by their initiative. Seven,” Obi-Wan shook his head with a small smile as he thought about it. “He said the troops chose us this time and we are stuck with them.”
Shaak Ti nodded, her eyes gleaming with gratitude and pride. “And we continue to choose them right back.”
“Somehow I just find this kind of hilarious,” Cin replied, his lip curling upwards.
“We are coming up on the docking bay, Generals!” the pilot announced, glancing back at them.
Obi-Wan straightened. “Thank you, Freefall. Cody, do all of the ships know of our next destination?” he asked, looking over at his commander.
“Yes sir. They are ready to jump to hyperspace on your command, General,” he reported with a short nod. “Once you have safely boarded with the other generals, of course, sir.”
Cin snickered lowly. Shaak Ti could help but smile at him. She had rarely seen Cin so amused. No one would ever believe it.
“Excellent,” Obi-Wan replied. “Once we land in the bay, please signal everyone to jump to hyperspace immediately. We haven’t a moment to spare and do not know when we will be discovered as of escaped.”
Cody nodded. “Yes, general.”
“I think we can drop the general,” Obi-Wan pointed out. “I do not believe we can hold that title any longer.”
The Commander just shrugged as the gunship they were in landed heavily on the floor of what Shaak Ti assumed was their ship. The sides opened up, letting a flood of artificial light in. “Whatever you say, general,” Cody jumped out onto the surface of the ship. Without another word towards the jedi, he strode further into the ship, shouting orders to signal the others all to leave immediately.
Obi-Wan shook his head to himself and helped an injured 501st soldier to his feet, having the trooper lean against him as they exited the aircraft. Shaak Ti and Cin followed. One of the 212th troopers took the 501st off of Obi-Wan, assumedly helping him towards the medical bay.
The three of them hadn’t even gotten out of the docking bay when a vaguely familiar woman came up to them. Cin glanced at Obi-Wan curiously. “Obi-Wan!” the woman shouted, her hand resting on her belly, as if that would help her movement. Her voice was full of many emotions, even Shaak Ti was having a difficult time going through them all. Of course, she wasn’t particularly trying either. She had felt Obi-Wan’s exhaustion, concern and frustration. An interesting combination.
“Padme,” he greeted, foregoing any formality.
“I need to know what is going on,” she demanded, wincing as she stopped in front of them. She was rather quite large, Shaak Ti noted as she reached out, brushing against the woman’s presence. Pregnant sure…. with twins. Interesting. “You barely told me anything on our call, virtually nothing about Anakin and said I would die without Jedi assistance.”
“You are pregnant with twins, senator?” Cin questioned.
The woman looked at him, as if she just noticed he had been there. “Uh. Yes. With twins.”
“Congratulations,” he replied calmly. “Is the father a jedi?”
Her gaze turned something of wary and suspicious. “…yes.”
“It’s Anakin,” Obi-Wan replied, tiredly.
Oh. OH. That was certainly complicated.
Cin just nodded. “You should stay with the healers then. When are you due?”
“In a couple of weeks,” Padme admitted. “I don’t understand what is going on. Why would I die giving birth? What is happening with Anakin? What is happening with the Jedi?”
“We do not have a lot of answers, ma’am,” Shaak Ti cut in. “But we are being hunted down and killed so evacuation was necessary. If you are indeed pregnant with twins and the father is a jedi, especially someone like Skywalker, you should be under near constant supervision by jedi healers or, Obi-Wan is right, you could very well, easily die. Getting pregnant by a Force user and not being one yourself, especially one like Skywalker, is extremely dangerous,” she explained calmly. She could practically feel Obi-Wan’s gratitude flowing off of him.
“Berena!” Cin called out in the halls. One of the first jedi to board the ship during the evacuation perked and walked over. “Miss Padme Amidala here is pregnant with twins. The father is a powerful force sensitive.”
The female jedi’s eyes widened and then became full of understanding. “Of course, battlemaster. I can escort her to the healers straight away.”
“If you are not needed elsewhere,” he assured.
“I’m sure Master K’Kruhk can make do without me for a while,” she replied with a smile and turned towards the senator. “Senator, I can escort you to the healers and do my best to answer your questions about your pregnancy if you wish.”
“Obi-Wan,” Padme insisted but Master Berena seemed to understand, practically dragging the pregnant soon to be mother away down the hall and away from the other masters.
The youngest of them let out a deep breath, closing his eyes and bringing his hands up to the sides of his head to massage his temples.
“My apologies,” he muttered. “A lot is happening.”
“No worries, Obi-Wan,” Shaak Ti assured. “You did the right thing. She will get some help. If she and her children can be saved, the healers can do it. Come, let’s leave and reunite with the rest of our family.”
The three of them made their way to the bridge, side by side in silence.
And the bridge fell into that same silence as they approached.
“It is time to leave,” Obi-Wan announced.
“Communications with the rest of the troops and generals must be reestablished. Can we do that with encryptions so the Empire cannot listen or trace them?” Cin inquired.
“Yes sir. I will have a team begin working on it immediately,” one of the troopers nodded and marched away to begin.
“All ships are ready to jump on your command, sir,” another trooper stepped forward. Obi-Wan shook his head and Shaak Ti could barely hear him mumbling about didn’t he say to leave immediately. But then Obi-Wan smiled softly, putting his hand on the soldier’s shoulder as he took a breath.
“Then I think it is about time we go, wouldn’t you say, Boil?” he glanced at another trooper close by. “Waxer?”
Both of them grinned. “I would agree whole-heartedly, sir.”
“Then let’s leave this planet,” Obi-Wan nodded. “All ships to hyperspace, if you will.”
Their escape in the darkness held no sound, no explosions or fanfare.
All they left behind was the burning Temple with only bodies and pain.

ᴛʀᴀɴꜱꜰᴏʀᴍᴇʀꜱ ᴘʀɪᴍᴇ || ꜱʜᴏʀᴛ ꜱᴛᴏʀʏ
Prompt:
What if a Cyborg was thrown into a different universe where the Autobots reside, and when they do cross paths would they be friend or foe?
Everything seemed fine, or so you thought. One moment you were helping out your comrades and the next thing you knew you had suddenly awoken out outdoors in the middle of the night. You stood up, dusting off the dirt from the sleeves of your black trench coat and inspected the new terrain. It was a dense forest, owls were hooting above the trees, and the sounds of wild wolves could be heard from afar.
You weren’t certain how you got there and attempted to contact the professor but was met with radio silence. Wasting no time as you began to wander the area in hopes of finding civilization. There, you stumbled upon a town, however, upon further inspection you noted that it had been abandoned for quite some time. Any hopes of finding any sort of communication in this particular area is meaningless.
When you were about to turn around to leave is when you heard heavy footsteps which caught your attention. You followed the sound and hid behind a tree, peeking your head out the corner to see a green robot organism running on the path of the railroad tracks to which lead to a rail tunnel. When the robot entered the tunnel that’s when you followed making sure to keep a low profile.
Halfway inside the dim tunnel is when you find a door where you approach it and twist the handle. Conveniently, it was open as you made your way inside the hidden facility. Along the way you had encountered a few men in suits and easily dispatched them with ease, without killing them of course. Upon arrival, you can see through the crack of the door that there were monitors displayed to your left and moved your gaze to see various suited men taking apart another robot, who was fully conscious. The sight caused you to build up the anger within you, it irked you at how these humans treated other lifeforms like guinea pigs.
One of the men in suits approached the door before you slammed it open with your feet sending the man hurtling towards the monitors. The sudden commotion caused everyone in the room to stop and turn towards you.
“A civilian? How did she infiltrate our base of operations?!” Yelled a man in annoyance.
Two suited men attempted to grab you, in return, you knocked them down with little effort. This caused the men to open fire at you and dodging every bullet that was fired and disarming them in the process. Then you jumped to avoid being grabbed and landed perfectly on the opposite side of the platform. You raised your head and realized that the man with a scar over the bridge of his nose had thrown a grenade towards you. Instantly, you raised your left arm and grab the grenade before crushing it within your grasp which caused it to explode.
The man chuckled. “Foolish girl.”
However, the victory was short-lived when the smoke had dissipated revealing your figure completely unscathed by the close ranged detonation.
His dark eyes traveled down to your forearm and was taken back by what he was seeing. The sleeve of your trench coat had been torn off where it revealed your mechanical arm, its glistening dark blue hue with a skin-like silicone and metal plating cover both the exterior and interior of your limb. This newfound discovery about what you are certainly intrigued him and the malicious smirk said it all.
Suddenly, there was a loud and continuous banging coming from further down the tunnel. The monitors were airing a live video feed and it showed the green robot making his way towards where you were.
“More crisp for the mill.” Muttered the man in displeasure as he fled with the rest of his men.
By the time you ripped your gaze away from the video feed, the man had disappeared from the scene along with his henchmen.
There were heavy footsteps approaching and you simply watched as the green robot finally came into view, with his blaster out ready to aim on sight. Yet, he hadn’t really noticed your presence since his attention was purely directed towards the other unfortunate robot that was strapped on the table.
“It must be your lucky day.”
Then he proceeded to rip off the restraints and walk around the table to where his feet were and tears off the others.
“What are you doing?” He inquired.
Perhaps they’re friends? You thought to yourself and continued to watch silently as the green robot offered his hand for him to take.
“Getting you outta here. Yeah, I don’t believe it either.”
She watched the exchange as they now stood beside each other. Then other robot, who was missing his right eye, turned to her.
“And you, human, thank you for… for saving my tailpipe earlier.” He muttered out through much hesitance, but was undoubtedly grateful for your assistance.
The green one turns to you in disbelief, finally taking notice of your presence. “What—wait, you saved him?!”
Suddenly the alarms blared out and both robots ran towards the exit with you trailing right behind them. Along the way, you encountered more soldiers, however, their focus were directed at the two robots. Since you were fairly hidden in the dark, wearing dark clothing and all. Either way, you made sure not to be seen by them. Once you were out in the open, the two robots were surrounded by green military vehicles, as well as, helicopters flying above them and were rapidly firing at them.
You on the other hand remained out of sight, not really wanting to partake in the event as you watched the scene unfold. Eventually they fled the scene for unknown reasons which left only the robots behind. The sound of jets soaring across the skies can be heard followed by the sounds of metal shifting in the air; five new robots had landed. The exchange was short and the green robot took on the enemies alone, including the one that he just rescued which he tossed around like a rag doll towards the others.
“Come on, I’ll scrap all of you!” He yelled, summoning his mace on his left forearm preparing to take them all at once.
The adversaries didn’t get the chance to fire when another pair of robots entered the scene. You watched as the jets retreated, transforming and soaring high into the night sky whilst the other drove off from the scene.
“Engaging the enemy on your own was even more foolish this time, Bulkhead. But I am honored that you saw fit to rescue your rival. You have truly risen above yourself.” The baritone voice said, which belonged to a red and blue robot, fairly taller than the rest.
“Did you see? I beat Breakdown and bashed him all with his own hammer! I won the rematch!”  The green robot, known as Bulkhead exclaimed enthusiastically.
“I’m sure Miko would be proud.” The two-wheeler said, with her arms folded in front of her chest.
You took this opportunity to approach them.
“Excuse me,”
Their heads turn towards you where stand right before them, although far enough so that your head wouldn’t cramp up from their tremendous height. You can faintly hear Bulkhead cursing under his breath, seemingly forgetting that you had existed.
“I apologize for my unannounced visit, but I seemed to have lost my way. Can you help me?”
The other robots exchanged suspicious glances to one another. It was only natural for them to feel wary of you, in fact, this outcome didn't really surprise you. But this was the only logical way. They were the only ones that could help and no human could help in your predicament in fear of turning you in because of your uniqueness.
“You allowed a human to see you?!” Whispered yelled the white and orange robot, looking furiously at Bulkhead.
Bulkhead averted his gaze elsewhere and was rubbing the side of his head. “Ratchet, if it weren’t for her, Breakdown would’ve been long gone before I got there.”
This earned a couple of gasps from the group, except for the taller robot,  who merely stared at you through curiosity.
You stepped forward, “Please, don’t hold him responsible. He did what was necessary. I should be the one to take blame.” You argued, motioning with your right hand towards yourself to secretly hid the exposed one.
Bulkhead was taken back from you defending him that it made his stagger from where he stood. No one has ever done that before except for his human charge.
“What is it that you want in return?” The taller one gestures his hand towards you.
“All I ask for is for you to take me with you, maybe even allow me to seek shelter. If that is alright with the rest.” You glance over to the others who stared at you cautiously. Then the female robot stepped forward pointing an accusing finger at you.
“How do we know you’re not some sort of MECH agent?”
“Is that what they are called? Interesting… Then explain to me, how can I be speaking to you all instead of attacking you? Shouldn’t I have retreated with the rest of those MECH people?”
No one seemed to catch your genuine reaction, it was made quite clear, however the only one that truly noticed the change in your tone was the to the red and blue robot. He quickly knew that you were telling the truth.
“Very well.”
The others didn’t argue further with his decision before contacting someone.
Suddenly a green vortex appeared just behind them and proceeded to enter it. With that you followed behind as you entered the vortex, it left a pins and needle kind of sensation throughout your body. On the other side, you arrived inside a missile silo with platforms throughout and with monitors nearby. Staring down you can make out a strange insignia embedded in the middle of the room. Your mind wandered off until a young voice spoke.
“Bulkhead, you’re back! Did you beat Breakdown?” Based on her features and her accent. You concluded that she was of Japanese descent.
While the girl spoke to Bulkhead, you proceeded to walk up the flight of stairs where you were met with the girl who was ecstatic in seeing you. Her nose nearly touching yours. She clearly didn’t understand what personal space was, that or she really didn’t care. You can feel the others' intense gaze on you, seeing that you're a stranger in their base. They had every right to be defensive when the girl was ogling you so closely.
“No way… another human! Sweet!” She exclaimed before bombarding you with questions. “Who are you — where are you from — how did you meet the bots?”
The list went on until you decided to extend your left hand and then pressed your index finger against her lips.
“You’re an energetic one.” She pulls back as you lower your arm back to your side.
“Actually I consider myself an adrenaline junkie.” She points her thumb to her chest with a grin.
You went to say something but was interrupted by a new voice, an angry one too.
“What in the name of Sam hills is going on here?!”
You turned to see a tall man with dark skin as he pushed himself off the couch where he undoubtedly slept on judging by the wrinkles in his shirt. He narrowed his gaze at you for a while before moving his gaze towards the group of robots.
“Prime, you better have a good explanation why there’s another human here.” The man demanded at the red and blue robot, being displeased to see they had brought a newcomer into their base.
“Human? Is that what you think I am?” You noted with a raised brow towards the man, then your attention was focused on the group. Might as well reveal your true self before any assumptions were made.
“I can assure you,”
Then you proceed to unwrap the belt from her trench coat and then peel off the coat, allowing it to fall on the floor. Underneath, you wore a black turtleneck crop top, long jeans and black combat boots. It’s true that you do resemble that of a human because of your features, however, from the collar bone below you had a body that was purely made out of silicone and metal. Strapped around your waist was a curved short sword tucked away on the right side of your waist.
“That I am in no way shape or form considered human.”
Everyone stared at you with a mixture of awe and utter disbelief, however,  girl didn’t seemed bothered, in fact, she was thrilled! She takes your wrist and inspects your left forearm with interest where she then begins to trace your skin. It tickled at first but the feeling had adjusted to the foreign touch, noting that the girls fingertips were rough and calloused. Possibly from doing manual labor or something else entirely?
“Whoa, your skin is soft… freaky.” She mused as she continued to examine your arm.
“Miko,” The tone in Bulkhead’s voice was stern, it’s only natural for him to be protective of the human girl.
“It’s alright. I don’t mind being handled.” You assured him, by glancing over to him from the corner of your eye and then back at Miko. Once again being bombarded with quite a few amusing questions to say the least.
“Does your arm turn into a blaster just like the Autobots — what about a sword — whoa, so you do have a sword! And—”
You proceeded to interrupt her, “You ask far too many questions. But wouldn’t it be fitting if you let me explain first and ask questions later? I promise to answer them fully.”
Miko couldn’t contain her smile as she furiously nods before stepping away from you, eagerly waiting for you to start. With that out of the way, you turned to face the group of robots and began to explain.
“As I stated before, I am not human. I’m a Cyborg, a being with both biological and artificial parts. In order to function as I am, the only part that’s human within me is my brain, nothing else.”
“My sudden arrival here was uncalled for and I have yet to find the main cause of it. I was unable to contact the professor leaving me no choice but to wander. Then I stumbled upon an abandoned town where I encountered your friend here. I knew that if I had any chance to contact anyone from home it would be with him, and this happily led me to all of you.”
“How come you weren't able to contact anyone? Aren’t you Cyborgs’ capable of communicating off-world?” The dark skinned man asked.
You turned to meet his gaze, only showing a side view of your frame to him. “Yes, however, we still require a main communication hub to be able to do so. The equipment which I currently lack. All I ask for is to be allowed to take sanctuary here until I am able to communicate with the professor.”
His face hardened before crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Fine. But I have to talk to the boys back at the pentagon. They’re gonna have a hard time having you around, especially for what you are. Which means that they’ll have to debrief you to make sure you don’t cause any trouble.”
“Do what you must. I will graciously comply to whatever they ask.”
The Prime stepped forward, where he stood right in front of you the only thing that separated them was the metal railing between them. You moved your gaze away from the man and towards the larger robot before you. His azure eyes studying you from head-to-toe, not in a suspicious way, it was more out of genuine curiosity.
He kindly introduced himself to you and then presented the others to you. As he then began to the entire story of their race even including their ongoing war with the Decepticons. Once he was done with his explanation, Miko had purposely nudged your shoulder to get your full attention.
“So, what’s your name, Cyborg girl?”
Those brown eyes that showed so much curiosity that it reminded you of  yourself. The memories of when you were just as curious to explore and learn about the world that you were created in. That curiosity and excitement that was written across her eyes, Miko deeply represented your younger self. So it was no surprised that neither Miko or Optimus could’ve noticed a ghost of a smile appearing on your normally neutral features.
Perhaps being stationed on this planet for an extended period of time wouldn’t be so severe, as long as you had company. Maybe even make new friends along the wall as well.
 “Ariel.”
