The fact that we don’t hear anything about Beetee’s wife and kids in THG could just be the fact that those books came out over a decade ago and Suzanne didn’t have plans to flesh out these characters but also. The implication that Beetee was being punished the entire 25 years after Haymitch’s games is so devistating when you remember Katniss mentions that it wasn’t uncommon for children of victors to be chosen in the reaping 🥲

Prime cancelled Étoile only 6 weeks after its premiere because of “budget concerns”. THEY HAVENT DONE JACK SHIT FOR MARKETING! The reason that season one didn’t have nearly a good enough view to budget ratio is because Prime would rather push other shows like The Summer I Turned Pretty (which is a pretty good book, but I could write essays about how much I hate the show). perhaps if Prime had spent more money on marketing for Etoile, which had no pre existing fan base prior to the season, or shall I say series release, instead of marketing for shows with very very VERY large fan bases they would have been “forced�� to cancel the show that was picked up for TWO SEASONS. Prime has plenty of money to be able to both market Etoile and its other many many many shows. Also, this show is literally about how the arts are DYING, yet the platform that this show is on is actively KILLING THE ARTS!!!!!

The worst part about this is that Etoile was cancelled on Gideon Glick’s (actor for Tobias Bell in Étoile) birthday. Prime sucks.

Oh god, this episode was brutal but definately a favourite- fuuuuck, the 200 callbacks mixed with the exploration of trans people and people of colour’s experiences in that flesh domain?? And adding the discussion on how their experiences impact their love over top of all of that?? Obsessed.

There’s just something so crazy about Asterid inadvertently being the person to start Haymitch’s downward spiral into alcoholism. Definitely NOT in a bad way! It just feels a little ironic because she’s a natural and gifted healer who Haymitch and many others in Twelve respect.

Obviously in the moment with the house burning down, she didn’t have much of a choice by giving Haymitch the sleep syrup, like he needed to be sedated or he would’ve done something drastic.

And maybe it would’ve happened anyway because he was already completely losing his mind in grief after losing his family and chasing everyone off but I can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if she’d never given him the syrup :(

Sinners is everything. It’s a period piece. It’s a horror movie; a vampire film, and a folk horror, and a horror noir. It’s an action-thriller, and a bittersweet tragic love story, and a dark coming-of-age, with three endings, each genre with an emotionally satisfying conclusion. It’s written with such historical accuracy and honesty and attention to detail it might as well be a true story. The man who played Old Sammie lived the real thing.
