as i hope i made clear, i think there's a difference between doomerism (pessimism about the world that refuses to acknowledge even neutral or good things exist, and folding everything into a "nothing can ever get better and nothing matters" kind of narrative) and being scared/upset/angry about specific issues. i don't think anybody horrified by what's happening in gaza right now is a doomer because of their reaction to it, much less anyone with family there.
