The Beginning
–A Departure
Tumblr media
Playlist Post
Disclaimer: I'm constantly changing the songs in this playlist. However the general lore will stay the same.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: These two songs represent Ansi's childhood that she spent together with Hobie.
My Reasoning: I chose Moon River because the song has a nostalgic feel to it. The lyricist for Moon River states that the lyrics "are reminiscent of his childhood." This song also sounds like two kids playing make-believe, similar to how Ansi and Hobie used to play as kids.
I chose We'll Meet Again because it felt like the perfect goodbye. Neither Hobie nor Ansi knew if they'd ever see one another again but they liked to believe that one day they would.
Lore: It was September 21. Ansi was only eight years old at the time. Her father (Benjamin Taratella the assistant director of Alchemax) was tinkering away at his home workshop when he accidentally opened up a portal to Earth-138B. Just as he was able to close it, a small boy came hurtling through.
Stranded in a completely new and unfamiliar place, seven year old Hobie Brown immediately started to cry. Poor Benjamin didn't know what to do since his daughter rarely ever cried.
Ansi was enjoying her mid morning snack when she heard the cries coming from her father's workshop. So with cookies in hand she made her way to the basement, annoyed at whatever disrupted her snack time, to see what the noise was.
To her surprise she was met by a teary eyed young boy and her father frantically attempting to calm him down.
Upon realizing that the sounds were coming from the boy she immediately opened her mouth to let him have. However, she decided against it after remembering how her mother popped her the last time she told someone to shut up.
One thing she did notice about the boy, aside from the irritating sounds he kept making, was the way his eyes, while teary, never looked away from her box of Fudgetown cookies. So she offered him a cookie saying that in exchange he wasn't allowed to cry anymore for the rest of the day. (She was a very blunt and straightforward child. T'was the autism)
Hobie was so shocked by Ansi's rude offer that he immediately stopped crying. He was irritated now. He argued that he couldn't control how he felt and so the deal was unfair. Ansi, however, had completely ignored his words. She was much more interested with his weird voice and his strange paper-like aesthetic. So of course she spoke her thoughts aloud.
This led to a back and forth fight of Ansi calling Hobie weird and Hobie saying that he wasn't which grew into a physical fight. (Thankfully Ansi's mother had come home at that point and broke the fight up. She wasn't happy with finding a random boy in her house. Much less one who was fighting her daughter right in front of her husband. Benjamin knew Ansi could hold her own so that's why he didn't do anything.)
Somehow despite this terrible first meeting they soon became completely inseparable over the two years that they were together. (Unfortunately for Ansi's parents this meant there were now two trouble makers in their house.)
Sadly, the day came when Hobie finally had to go home. It was a very tearful goodbye for the both of them (more so on Hobie’s part than Ansi's.)
Unfortunately, before Ansi was able to fully process this her entire life was turned upside down. This was the start of the worst years of her life.

We got Ingo isekai, we got Ansy isekai, and now we got Ikrik(?? Sorry if mispelled). Can we mayhaps get a Emmet isekai?
Haha, so first thing’s first: the Ansy & Ikrit who showed up in the isekai comics / doodles are not Pokéverse (DxP) Ansy & Ikrit (so don’t tag it under “DxP REWRITE” or “rewrite AU” pls lol XD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isekai-ed us are straight self-inserts while Pokéverse Ansy & Ikrit are more like AU versions of ourselves — they’re based on us & our experiences with the games, but live different lives (if that makes sense).
I’ve been meaning to make a comic or something distinguishing me from DxP Ansy - right off the bat, one of the biggest differences is that I have health problems that Pokéverse Ansy doesn’t have to worry about =7= (I’m sure with their advanced technology, they’d have found cures for this stuff 🥲🩵)
Another, easier tell is that I have a cool crescent moon scar on my neck lol & Poké-Ansy doesn’t (see above)
Oh, the funny consequences of basing your characters on yourselves XDXD
So, I’m not sure! In mipmoth’s original comic that inspired this AU of their AU (Hero of Bombs), they wrote in the tags that Emmet got isekai-ed to Spirit Tracks, & they’d reunite via a Linked Universe kinda scenario (if you don’t know, look it up - it’s a great crossover comic where all the Links go on an epic adventure! ⚔️🍃)
As for me, I imagined they’d just reunite back home as Ingo is just sent back much sooner than Legends Arceus, having helped Link defeat Ganondorf (me-Ansy going back home about the same time, arriving when as Ikrit does). We can consider Ingo’s memory of Emmet that showed up in the Spirit Temple a sort of reunion, along with whatever dreams he has of him. ^_^
On that note, I’ve been treating this Ingo more like the canon one, rather than the one my trainer is friends with & who’s featured in DxP REWRITE. I’m not sure, but that’s where I’m leaning. ouo
(EDIT: fixed some stuff & added some stuffs to help visibility ^0^)

research tangent! scp x wh13
so this is something a little bit different than what i normally talk about. i'm putting on a different cap today. ok little nerd moment thats been living rent free in my head for days. ive got an antistatic bag on my desk thats been sitting here for a while and i noticed something familiar
Tumblr media
that sure as hell looks like the scp foundation logo
Tumblr media
which got me really thinking. so its very obvious to me that the scp logo takes inspiration from this iso or ansi symbol. but whats even more odd was looking at the timeline of the scp wikis birth. im a zillenial (god i hate that word) so my childhood was watching markiplier play scp:cb, scrolling the old wiki, fucking with cleverbot. fun stuff like that. i was still a drooling idiot. when sci-fi renamed to syfy. but i remember the switchover and not being allowed to watch eureka because there were some "goddamns" in there. but i was allowed to watch warehouse 13, in spite of steve's existence. i was way too into the steampunk and lore of warehouse 13 when it was relevant. so much so i had a fucking farnsworth ringtone on my lg shit phone and i thought it was the coolest thing. i'm also still gay as hell for h.g. wells and her fit.
Tumblr media
but anyway anyway. the premise of warehouse 13 was finding dangerous "artifacts" that imbued special status affects on people and to neutralize them with "neutralizer grid polyethylene static bags" as they say. their motto being "snag it. bag it. and tag it." or something to that effect.
Tumblr media
what im getting at is that warehouse 13 has a similar premise to the scp foundation, but more mainstream comedy and less psychological horror. there's a tangential link between wh13 with scp via anti static bags and the symbol. so i looked into this a bit. through cursory searches, i didn't find anyone really talking about this other than a similar premise. so i looked at timelines. in july 2008 the scp foundation wiki (idk which one) was started, while wh13 piloted on july 2009. with a year delta, it seems clear "who stole from who". but wait. writing, pitching, and filming takes quite a while. is a year really enough time? i can't find any trademarks registered by universal nor any evidence of a canadian filming license. so this is where i stopped typing on my phone and started researching. the waters are a bit muddy, so bear with me. wh13 was co-written by a handful of people and rewritten as well. but the original plot was announced by sci-fi here in october of 2007
Tumblr media
according to wikipedia (the free encyclopedia), inspirations for warehouse 13 include the x-files, raiders of the lost ark, something called moonlighting, and this show from the late 80s and early 90s called "friday the 13th: the series". i'd never heard of it, but it shares the vaguest premise with both wh13 and scp to keep bad artifacts away from harming people.
Tumblr media
well what about the scp wiki? when did it form? well it's complicated. (i'm sorry for my poor cropping, it will happen again)
Tumblr media
the scp wiki itself states that the original scp came from 4chan and that a lot of original organization happened on 4chan. indeed 4chan is the source of famous scps such as 173
Tumblr media
posted on june 2007 is the original lore post about 173 and can be seen as the beginning of scps. which pre-dates the announcement of wh13. i don't know about you, but how fast you could go from trolling 4chan to a pilot script? at this point "some government authority retrieving dangerous magic embued items" was not a previously done idea and was indeed original. the x-files kinda did this before with balancing larger plot arcs with mini plot supernatural occurrences, not all aliens. but nothing about being an authoritative group that comes in and cleans up super natural mishaps. nah, mulder and skully just stayed in the basement or took an occasional road trip to see a whistleblower. i honestly love scp far more than wh13, but i'm going to be the devil's advocate and not give the new era spin on an old idea to the scp wiki just yet. 173 is an scp, but the idea of scps is not fully laid out yet. the thread was also deleted days later and thus only lived in the minds of active forum users of the time as fan derivatives were made. so there was a period of time where the fandom had started to form, but no official wiki existed. the semi official scp wiki formed in january 2008. later than the announcement of wh13 but before the pilot of the show ever aired in july 2009. so it's always possible the writers were 4channers and yoinked the idea. again, it's so fascinating how close in time and narrative the scp wiki and wh13 are. i personally doubt the writers were on 4chan at the time, but neither the wiki nor the show writers exist in a vacuum. i think it all warrants scrutiny and there's no smoking gun saying who inspired who, or if it's absolute coincidence. that is unless some ogs from the scp wiki or the writers of wh13 are able to speak on it. i'm curious what other people think.

Hihi!! I just dropped a notification bomb but I also wanted to drop by your askbox to show some love and appreciation for the ongoing event!! :DD (hope you don't mind lmao ;;;)
I might be late to the party (I missed the first week of 2024 orz) but when I returned, my dash was full of pieces from your event!!! I just had to scroll back to the beginning and ended up a tad too invested in the lore by the time I reached the latest post DX
Anyways, I'll be sticking around because I feel like this is going to be a WILD run /pos!!! (I'm searching for a new jamboard app to compile all the info and theories because my brain is braining (I HAVEN'T BEEN THIS INVESTED IN ANYTHING SINCE THE MAFIA EVENT HELP???))
tdlr: I love your creative brain and I can't wait to uncover the SK + Cupid and Eros's boss :)
P.s. I hope it's alright that I'm still theorizing lore and stuff even as a non-participant?? DX If not, lmk as well!!! Then I'll just continue the thoughts in solitary :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HELP I GOT YOUR TWO ASKS AS I WOKE UP LATE AND THE AMOUNT OF LAUGHS I GOT... MAN THIS IS DEDICATION RIGHT HERE BUT HELP???
Anyways, I don't mind if you theorize about all of this. I think it's going to be very fun when the weekends hit because it's going to be a free day for me to decide "which part of lore am I going to drop" HAOSNSOSJ
AND THE JAMBOARD. I CANT THE JAMBOARD (mafia astro memories ^)
Pls if you have one please send it to me so I can add it to the masterlist and so others could see it. I wanna see how much that's going to be filled with "who's the sk" and "what's the boss's actual identity" (because tbh the first can be solved if you guys looked over it again. Who knows? I might drop something there)
AND THE MEME LMAO
"I am connecting the dots" "you didn't connect shit" "I am connecting them" energy right there
Anyways I am thoroughly enjoying the amount of dedication, please continue, I allow anyone to go wild with what's going on in the event and see what the hell is happening
(as I plan Ansy's part to be more lore related and maybe be the ""cusp"" filled with most answers. Who knows hehe)

FLAG OF THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA
"The first evidence of the red and white flag of Latvia dates back to the second half of the 13th century, when the ancient Latvian tribes went to battle against the Estonians under this flag. The Latvian flag can be considered one of the oldest national symbols in the world."
.
New lore???
.
In the Middle Ages, this flag was forgotten, but in 1870, Latvian students resumed using it in their meetings. In 1917, the dark red flag with a white stripe in the middle created by the artist Ansis Cīruļis was adopted as the Latvian national flag, which was approved as the national flag of Latvia in 1921. In order not to confuse it with the Austrian flag, it was decided that the width ratio of the stripes of the Latvian flag would be 2:1:2. This shade of red colour is not used in any other flag, so it is sometimes even called "Latvijas sarkano" (Latvian red).
During the Soviet occupation (from 1940 to 1988), the red and white flag was prohibited.
.
I WONDER WHAT THAT REMINDS ME OF ⚪️🔴⚪️
.
On November 11, 1988, it once again hung on the Riga Castle's Holy Spirit tower, but in 1990 it again became the national flag of the Republic of Latvia.

Me writing random posts about Ansi without context despite having never typed out their full lore.
Normalize including your OCs in your posts with little to no explanation.
Link their Sona-sheet every chance you get. Let them join in on the fun and have connections and opinions and stuff
Do it like it's canon.
I always figure if they're really curious they can check them out and if not they can just passively nod and gloss over them y'know
Like we do everyday with canon characters.
Cause like.. the people I follow are genuinely buckwild over canon characters from fandoms and shows I've never in my life heard of and every time I'm like
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Well ain't that something thank you for allowing me to observe your joy for whimsy and excitement is a gift to mankind'
The same is true for OCs.
If I so much as BREATHE or think the words 'Good' and 'Omens' near each other my For You page gets FLOODED. INESCAPABLE.
And I'm fine with that.
The same way random unknown canon characters aren't a bother-
Your OCs aren't a bother either, they're just unknown to the particular person.
So just add them in, they'll get the jist.
If I can gather up Eddie Munson's whole personality, style, way of speech, and character arc through gifs and random ass posts then the same goes for OCs.
You don't even need a origin fic or anything to do it. Or even a whole back story or arc. They can just be there.
Chilling. Like people be doing. Let them chill.
Have them spawn into the story like random characters from a DLC you don't know how to turn off so those characters are just There Now.
It's fine. The same way there's canon characters that just give no hints at all of their backstory (Jessica Drew for example)
DO IT. ADD THEM IN.
Tumblr media
POST THE POST YOU'VE BEEN WAITING TO POST.
Do it in headcanons, do it in art, do it in your mind. Ship them and then passively mention their marriage while talking about a completely different topic -
It's not illegal I swear plus it's really fun.
Everytime you do - you're making your writing a little bit more for yourself, and a little less about validation.
Everytime you add in your OC simply out of love for the character you've created, instead of leaving them out so its more attractive to other people or gets more notes, you're giving yourself a chance to put a bit of yourself in your writing.
DO IT. TRY IT OUT. SEE HOW IT FEELS. TALK ABOUT YOUR OCS LIKE THEY'RE FULL CHARACTERS BECAUSE THEY ARE.

I have a question about your LoZ AU.
LoZ as a series has a bit of a weird depiction of humans. Hylians are almost always portrayed with pointed ears, although humans with rounded ears do show up sometimes (notable example is Wind Waker, where it's an actual plot point). I know this is a weird question, but would Ingo's, and by extension Ansy's, round ears be a point of interest to the inhabitants of Hyrule? I don't remember if BotW or Totk ever mentioned any area outside of Hyrule, and since everyone there have pointed ears, no one would have any idea as to where those humans came from.
Also, if I remember correctly, I think that pointed ears are a sign of a connection to the goddess Hylia. And given the generally polytheistic society in (most) Zelda games, then that could be another odd thing about Ingo and Ansy.
At the very least, their round ears would be a very clear indicator that both of them are not from Hyrule.
I know this is a weird question, but for some reason this topic has always been an interesting one for me. Especially since I remember my first reaction to Totk Ganondorf being that he's the only character in Totk and Botw with round ears. (Me : yeah sure his character design looks cool and he looks swoll, but LOOK AT HIS EARS-)
Pardon me, a flood of Zelda lore just rushed into my head lol - I’ve been a Zelda fan EVEN LONGER than I’ve been a Pokémon fan.
Okay, so round ears, our isekai-ed friends in Hero of Bombs, & Ganondorf! (Lore dump ahead!)
Tumblr media
It’s as you said - round ears have been a minor topic of interest in Hylian history, regardless of the timeline. I remember reading the booklet that came with A Link to the Past when I was little, about the creation of Hyrule & the Triforce. In there, they talked about how Hylians heard messages from the gods with their elven ears. One of the townsfolk in Ocarina of Time says the same thing.
Meanwhile, the earliest instance of round ears I can remember appearing is Ocarina of Time: ALL of the Gerudo (including OoT Ganondorf) had round ears - more on that in a bit. Another example came a little later in the Oracle games with the inhabitants of the other countries Oracle of Seasons / Ages Link visited (Holodrum & Labrynna), then again in Twilight Princess with the residents of Ordon Village (technically just outside Hyrule’s border).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(OoT Nabooru to the left, OoA Bippin & Blossom in the middle, & TP Colin to the right)
“Oh, okay. Gerudo & these folks from neighboring countries / villages just have round ears - easy!…Right?”
Until Breath of the Wild happened, reintroducing the Gerudo people after all these years with pointed ears like Hylians (not to mention different skin tones).
The Gerudo being an all female race (except for a male born every 100 years, often some incarnation of Ganondorf), they reproduce via men from other races (Hylian, Sheikah, etc). Stands to reason they would get traits from their fathers. Why, then, didn’t they have pointed ears back in OoT? Maybe round ears & darker skin used to be a stronger gene? I couldn’t tell you.
Why TotK Ganondorf has round ears might be an example of that gene coming back in the rarely born male, though honestly I just feel like they were just making a design choice to refer back to OoT Ganondorf, the very first depiction of him we saw in the games (though he was mentioned by name in A Link To the Past) as a love letter to us older fans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(OoT Ganondorf to the left, TotK Ganondorf to the right)
I don’t think Nintendo wanted us to think too hard on it, or why some versions of Ganondorf actually does have pointed ears, even when it was the same Ganondorf (eg. OoT Ganondorf > WW Ganondorf / TP Ganondorf). All I know is that when ToTK Ganondorf stepped into the frame, my inner 10yo saw the villain from her nightmares (in the very best sense! 878)
As for Ingo & isekai-ed me (lol), the Hylians would probably just think of us as foreign visitors, maybe from Labyrnna / Holodrum. Link & probably some other key characters would know the truth, either by being told straight out, or intuition.
Side note: as Ingo muddles with his memories & ends up spending time with isekai-ed me, he wonders if we come from the same country / world (not quite, Ingo!)
(Editing to add maybe it was also a symbolic thing - pointed ears symbolizing communication with the divine, maybe it’s to say “he refuses to listen to heaven”? Who knows.)

Hiiii I’d like to say good job on the match-ups!! They’re fun to read, and it makes me more excited for my turn (assuming my form was properly sent). And Cupid + Eros’s lore?? Very interesting, given their shady Boss and the yandere consequences of their services :0
Also, my apologies if my form was quite extensive. I rarely participate in matchups, so I figured I’d go all out for my first (and probably last) one for Genshin ^^;
At any rate, I honestly don’t know who I’ll get so the results will be interesting. Sending lots of chocolates to Cupid and Eros ^o^
Tumblr media
"Afternoon, Cupid," Eros greeted them, watching them enter the room while they worked on the matchups. Cupid yawned and sipped on the boba drink they bought while they were out.
"Afternoon, Eros... What are you doing?"
"Clearing your three page worth of messages."
"... Now?"
"Yes. Now. Seriously, you never do it."
Pausing at a certain message, the duo began to read through what it means, and Eros seems surprised. Blinking a few times, they turned their gaze to a stunned Cupid.
Tumblr media
"Hey, Cupid. Look who came after Ana."
"..."
"Cupid?"
"Oh my God— that's Jessamine!" They exclaimed, placing down their drink to grab Eros by the shoulders and shook her. "It's Jessamine Rose! It's Jessamine! She came to see our work at MixMatch!"
"Woah, woah there— you're excited to see her, huh?" Eros teased, seeing that the guest left them something nice.
"Well, let's greet our guest properly, Cupid."
"Yes, let's!"
Tumblr media
Putting this on a readmore to rant BAHAHAHAHAHA IM SORRY I SAW THIS AND I WENT "no way."
And this happened (ooc)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I lost it on a server with my friends and Ansy is like "lol you're more scared of Jessamine than the literal face of Yan content" like YES HELLO???)
HELP I WANTED TO DO MORE BUTHWIDHDIDH I AM SITTING HERE LIKE. OH MY GOD??? YOU JOINED????
I'm having a fangirl moment. Pls. That's so.
Tumblr media
I apologize for what I have become but I am also not sorry because this made me SO happy yesterday. I had to do this justice HSIDHDIDJDN
Just. AAAAAAAAAA
IM SO SO HAPPY YOU'RE ENJOYING THE ENTRIES IM 😭 /pos
Cupid + Eros's lore?? Very interesting, given their shady Boss and the yandere consequences of their services :0
Tbh the lore rn is at like the beginning because haha. First week. Not even valentine's. But fr their boss is shady but MAN things are gonna go wild thats uh. That's for sure HAISHEJBS (< thought about putting a deadline at the end of Jan but went "nahhh let's go February"... I'm a dumbass but dw abt it)
And no need to apologize if your form is extensive!! I love reading long answers and it makes me so giddy seeing what people say abt themselves + who they like. I'm happy you joined mine though, and I'm looking forward to see your reaction to your own matchup when I get to it!
Sending lots of chocolates to Cupid and Eros ^o^
Dear God this is why Cupid is on a sugar high and crashed hard (/exag but fr, both enjoyed them HAISBSJEN)
Anyways, so sorry for the long post but!!! Thank you for the ask ;v; I hope you enjoy how badly this matchup can crash and burn with the establishment being SHADY as hell BAHAHAHAHAHA

Here is an idea I had an idea based on an anime I had seen. It was pretty short as in 30 minutes compared to the usual one hour. It was called Kakurenbo hide and seek. The idea was basically to light up an entire town as there is no sun. People are forced to play a game of hide and seek. So that the town lights up because of a god. This is the game hide and seek where you have to be the last one standing. They have to hide from giant oni masked creatures. Also all the players were wearing masks. Also the last one standing becomes the next it.
Here is the idea I had. The yanderes are the seekers. All seekers are wearing an Oni mask. There are two types of seekers. The ones that chase you down and ones that pretend to be a survivor only to turn out to be a seeker. The way to distinguish between an imposter and survivor. It was the eyes of the mask glow red. The seeker's goal is to capture the darlings. The seeker's send the captured darling's to a drop of point. This makes the darling be put inside an unbreakable capsule and, they're able to watch the game in the capsule. The survivors goal is to be the last one standing and finding an exit hidden around the area.
The lore of this yandere world would be this. It was game for a yandere to get their darling and a Darling gets a chance to leave. The last survivor darling gets to leave the city (which has the same population and size as New York.) and the ability to willingly give up their freedom for an another captured darling and the survivor is forced to play the game the next time.
This is what happens to the losers. The losers are split into two groups. Some get chosen by the yanderes as their lovers for ever. The chosen have their yanderes get to kidnap them for the rest of their lives. The ones who were not chosen were either killed by the yanderes or sent back into the town.
There actually have been rare situations that have happened in the games. This is considered the rarest situation yet.
I will show you the file of game 345. The important people in this situation are three boys. The darling Akane Shiraki. Yanderes Kyouhei takano and Kurosawa Yamato.
This will help in some context. The three were all childhood best friends. Akane made a promise with then that they'll be best friends forever as a promise.
Akane was the last survivor. Akane wore a cat mask. He was with Kurosawa and thought they were the last two survivors. Kurosawa who worn a dog mask had his mask shift into an Oni mask. Akane ran for his life. Kurosawa was chasing Akane saying that you will be his forever and that he should be a good pet and stop running. Akane then ran head first and was captured by Kyouhei who was wearing his oni mask and captured Akane. Akane did not know this was Kyouhei and thought this just another seeker.
This happened as the yanderes were picking their darlings. Akane was chosen by the Kyouhei and Kurosawa. The two were supposed to duel to the death to get Akane. That was until Akane said Kurosawa's name. Kyouhei realised it was Kurosawa when Akane called him. Kyouhei told Kurosawa his identity. They two then agreed to share Akane. The two then called of the duel. Akane was then given to both of them.
The unique things that happened here is that no one was able to escape. Second was that two yanderes like the same darling. The third two yanderes agreed to share. This event also had the lowest death count of two out 25 survivors. The two who were killed were killed by Akane and Kyouhei respectively. One was a girl who spread rumors about Akane. The second was a boy who had lewd pictures of Akane.
If anyone wants to write this au, you can just tag me.
I think I just made a dead by daylight combined with among us and hunger games au.
I want to tag some people to see what their reactions on this are. @ansy-tea @yandere-romanticaa

But also currently most motivated to write about Aroace!Hobie going through it because people keep assuming he's allo idk where I'm gonna go with that tho lol
Also more x reader headcanons. I'm considering doing Hobie with a gender fluid or an agender reader but again we'll see how far I get with those lol
Currently working on more OC lore and more Hobie x Ansi stuff. I literally just opened a whole new draft because I really need to stop thinking about them while listening to music.
More Hobie AUs and fic ideas that I gotta edit a bit.
Idk how many other spiderverse writers other than mutuals follow me but do any of y'all wanna like idk. Share any WIPs you're excited about or ideas you have? The vibes have been kinda off lately lets do sumn positive 😭✋🏾

The Beginning
–A Star Is Born
Tumblr media
A/N: Grammar is for chumps.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: These two songs represent Ansi's beginnings as a child star.
My Reasonings: I chose a popular song by Shirley Temple to mark the rise of Ansi's child stardom.
A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes is the first song that Cinderella sings in her movie. The main theme of the song is that despite the pain you're currently facing you can't give up the hope that things will change for the better. At this point of Ansi's life she feels the same as Cinderella because she believes this change in her life is only temporary. This song also illustrates Ansi's childhood naivety. She thinks that it won't be long before her life goes back to normal despite the obvious signs that it won't.
Lore: Ansi had always been a tech genius. By the time she learned how to count she was already typing out zeros and ones. Her programming abilities only improved as her father taught her more advanced skills. By the time she turned ten she was more versed in computer code than some senior programmers at Alchemax.
She was so good that her father started bringing her to his job at the Midwestern Alchemax branch. (That and the fact that she was driving her mother, who was attempting to homeschool her, insane.)
Nobody actually believed in her abilities. They thought that she was just a privileged brat that they were being forced to babysit. There were some who had more aggressive opinions that they didn't even try to hide. Ansi had become very familiar with the hushed whispers and dirty looks whenever she entered a room. (She also had to deal with racial prejudice since she was one of the few black people on site.)
Most of the time they just ignored her. The few who pitied her gave her small and meaningless tasks (which only took her a couple of seconds to complete). She never complained to her father about it being surrounded by tech was enough for her.
However, things changed the day a computer worm infected Alchemax's server. It started off slow. Desktops were running slower than usual. But many assumed it was due the precarious nature of the weather in the Midwest. It was impossible for their systems to be breached (Despite Ansi's constant warnings about the major weaknesses in their system). But it wasn't long before the slowness of the desktops went from a minor inconvenience to completely unusable. Panic began to spread across the facility. No one knew the cause of the worm or how it spread. The only thing they could do was stop it before it got to the super computer. Fortunately, Ansi's laptop was the only one unaffected since no one ever connected it to the mainframe. They all watched in awe as she effortlessly took down a computer worm that took the entire programming staff days to just slow it down. If Ansi didn't interfere they would've lost billions of dollars worth of tech. And yet in just a couple of hours Ansi was not only able to get rid of it but completely reverse the state of the infected computers.
(It's quite easy to take down a worm that you created yourself.)
After such a miraculous feat people had to acknowledge her abilities. Soon she was put on bigger projects and given more difficult tasks. She was well known throughout the facility as their very own Coding Princess.
She was almost always at Alchemax. Even when her mother gave up and put her in public school she still went after classes. However, there was always one day in the year where her father refused to let her go with him to work. She knew why. It was the day of the annual progress report.
The one day in the year where the head of Alchemax came to check out their tiny facilities.
The one day in the year where her grandfather visited the area.
(Somehow he always found time for work but could never find time to say hello to his own family.)
She didn't know why her father was so against her grandfather learning about her abilities, but she never pressed him about it. Sometimes she wonders what he would've said if she had asked. At the very least she would've been prepared for what was to come.
No one had expected the director's surprise visit.
Somehow he'd gotten wind of the virus outbreak that had almost compromised the entire database and he was absolutely livid.
Ansi knew of her grandfather's temper but she had never seen the man so red in the face. It wasn't long before he went from fuming to actively hostile, Ansi felt bad for the innocent workers who were standing near him.
After leaving them bruised and bloodied he finally calmed down and said that everyone who worked that day would be fired unless Ansi went back to Seattle with him.
Ansi didn't care too much about the people working there but she still agreed. (It's one of the tech capitals of the US. Of course she was gonna say yes.)
Her mother was overjoyed to finally get recognition from her father while her father was absolutely terrified. He knew what the director was capable of but he was powerless. Assistant director was just an empty title given to him because he was the son-in-law of the director.
So begins Ansi's hellish life as the super genius child star, Niya.

The White Dragon
“In ancient history, when one seeking Truth appears, so does Reshiram. Reshiram faces them, testing their mind & strength. Once the test is complete, & Reshiram recognizes the human as a Hero, they bestow knowledge & wisdom upon them, & bear their fangs towards any who mean to harm them. Reshiram thus watches over the Hero similar to a loving parent. However, if the Hero’s eyes ever become clouded with greed, wealth & power corrupting their good heart, Reshiram will turn the Hero’s country into a land of flames, then leave their side forever…”
-adapted from the beta leak
A combination of things led to this - feeling a little stuck on the DxP page I’m on, the beta leaks, already thinking about the possible next story in Unova whenever we get BW remakes / sequels, & the reappearance of a song that took over my life when I was younger that also involved a white dragon: “Sóra” (Escaflowne the Movie). 🪽
youtube
At face value, Reshiram is an odd match for Ansy; Fire / Dragon, their Electric counterpart Zekrom would be a much better fit for a rain user, & representing an absolute while Ansy is a very strong believer of balance.
Putting aside their Pokedex entry that says “when Reshiram's tail flares, the heat energy moves the atmosphere and changes the world's weather” (heat being a key ingredient to clouds, turning water to vapor), I feel like maybe it was mostly because Ansy saw the truth that balance is what’s needed - whether it’s Truths & Ideals, or both living together with Pokemon & respecting their space. That’s why N lost all those years ago - he was unbalanced, largely thanks to Ghetsis’ methods for raising him to be the Hero of Ideals involving rejecting Truth over Ideal to pursue a fantasy (at least in Ansy’s timeline)
Going into Kyurem’s leak (btw, if you read the Pokedex or look into the Mystery Dungeon games, it seems most if not all these leaks about the Tao trio are actually canon), Kyruem can see the future. I wonder if maybe that was the reason for splitting of the Original Dragon, where the first Twin Heroes fought with each other over Truth & Ideals - what if the elder twin argued they had to follow the Truth of the predicted future while the younger fiercely held on to an Idealistic alternative?
Or, even more tragically…what if it was a self-fulfilling prophecy, the Original Dragon predicting the Twins would fight, & they would break in two, leaving Kyurem as their empty shell?
Then there’s the mystery of how this Original Dragon fell from the sky as a meteor in ancient times, the Giant Chasm being the falling site (filled with meteorite Pokémon like Solrock & Lunatone). Were they pulled here by the future they saw?
TLDR: I really like lore 📖

Special Weapons in WWFSFG
@kiraofthewind asked a question over at Twitter and I couldn't really answer because of spoilers, so I thought I'd share a bit more here, where I can cut it off and you can choose to read the spoilers yourself!
The question or prompt, perhaps — was to tell her about a special weapon used by a character. Essentially she asked about its lore, design, use and condition.
And I'll be doing just that! But just two, because this is very long. I could do others if people really, REALLY want to know though.
NOTE that there will be spoilers of When the World Falls, I'll be Safe from the Wrath of God. Which arcs, I won't say, but if you plan on reading my very long series, keep that in mind.
Alright, let's get to it!
Before I start, I should make a real quick character introduction.
Answard. MC. Species: witch. Elemental Alignment and its strength: wind and air, mind-blowing. Magical aptitude: High. Occupation: OP mage. Travels around the Continent running errands for the church, I guess. His name is Ásvard in Northern tongue and shortened Ansy or Ánsi. (Accent is a long vowel sound.)
Kári Hjálmar. LI. Species: human. Elemental Alignment: fire, passionate but limited. Magical Aptitude: Absolutely none and then even less than that. Occupation: runaway king. Follows Ansy around for reasons only the Spirits and Kári himself know. From the Northern Kingdom. His birth name is Kári, Hjálmar his father's birth name, so people he's very close with call him Kári. Not distant, but not close calls him "brother" or "king" or "young king".
That should be enough for you to know.
Kári's Sword
I want to talk about this first, because, to me, it's the most special. It has both emotional value and value to the rest of the world.
Kári is a "warrior type" in battle, which in-universe means he has knowledge of how to use multiple weapons. Where he's from this is fairly common, unless someone specialises in swordstaff, and then doesn't learn how to use their knife other than stab someone in the gut.
Kári specialised in longswords and chose his specific sword among hundreds of others. Why? That's where the emotional value comes in. This is also a summary of an incident mentioned early in the series.
When Kári was 9, his sister's paralysed legs were a mystery to all physicians. They sought advice from those who may know more, and a High Priest visited the North.
Upon cleaning the legs from tainted mana, there was a slight issue that could have been somewhat very dangerous to people.
A young child rushed to grab the sword off the wall, using it to channel mana, stabilising what could have possibly destroyed half the Northern Capital.
When Kári could choose his weapon upon turning 15, the sword he choice was the one he would never forget — a sword too big for a young child, yet wielded by one, who seemed to fly before landing don't the ground that day.
That child… was Ansy.
To be more specific, Ansy used it as a medium to channel his own abilities through it. A young witch don't usually have the ability to use mana for their spells, so his abilities were unstable. He didn't really wield it, but that 6yo really made an impression on 9yo Kári, because same child had also shrunk back at the slightest off look, saying very little, and avoiding most things — yet seemed so strong then.
To the adults, it only looked like Ansy would hurt himself though.
This incident does make this sword special in its own right. Regardless of his age, the story of the witch who took one of the precious ancient swords off the wall was not one that people would not share. That they exaggerate it, is a different matter altogether. That it's still told long after Ansy and Kári, Kári's wife and even the children they three raised have passed away, is what matters. And that it's shared in Ansy's tale of his travels matters too.
But to the two of them, it's that little secret proof of their connection no matter how separated they are, and they both value that (although Ansy would claim he has no thoughts on the matter — it's just some shitty sword).
That said, the sword used back then already had a history.
Answering the question (or many questions in a prompt), I went "Yes, but…"
This is the thing I thought of and went "yes" on all questions. It was also the one I mentioned, trying to think of something to share. (I still didn't! xD)
When sheathed, it doesn't look very special. While the hilt and scabbard are decorated, it's simple rather than intricate. Northerns like to decorate things. In part because if someone is lost, the carvings or stones or colours allow them to know if there's a chance of finding them based on whether they find their items or not.
In a world of ice and snow, for a people dumped into a land trying to kill you, while the inhabitants tried to take your land, that's worth more than the item itself.
So the sheath is oddly simple and, especially at a distance, the hilt is nothing to brag about.
Unsheathed however…
When you look closely at the hilt, it's less that it's not intricately detailed, but that the detail is too subtle. The grip looks at closer look like it's made of wood rather than metal, and the guard is like it's been woven out of flower stems and petals. This wooden-floral design continues onto the blade itself.
It looks more like a ceremonial weapon than a sword used in battle, and its name would suggest something similar.
The Sword of Life. (Or the Life Sword. I'll use that because shorter.)
It has a history of battle though. It's been used generations before by legendary warriors and even a past king, protecting the North. It goes back thousands of years!
Or so they say. Life Sword is a nod to a legendary sword of Púdenan origin, Púdena being a country in the area of the North of the today Ansy and Kári live. That sword was named Life Tree, or Sword of the Life Tree. A magic artefact, aligned with earth to the point it could cast spells of its own (or so the legends say). The Life Sword is far less powerful, but it's nonetheless an artefact itself.
It's an enchanted sword, aligned with the earth element. It was this alignment that made Ansy choose it in his rush, ignoring what others may say.
But first, about Life Tree.
That was a real sword. It wasn't a long sword like Kári's but it could literally split the earth with the right wielder. During a war at the end of the Third Era, that is exactly what happened. It was forged specifically for the young man who wielded it, and who in the end caused so much damage to the other side, the war kind of trickled to its end as the opposing side couldn't keep the war going. Life Tree is deeply rooted in "plants", letting the original owner use spells that allowed him to seem like he had the powers of a forest nymph. Naturally, Hakkaij, as he was called, had a strong alignment with the element of his sword.
So, Life Sword.
Much like the sword it's based upon, it has an elemental alignment with earth. And if you read the introductions, you should know Kári's alignment is fire. Fire is stronger than earth; it burns it. So… Does this not matter?
It does. Using a weapon that isn't aligned well with your element is going to inhibit you. Most equipment is relatively neutral, but some are not, such as Kári's sword. Moreover, Kári's sword is enchanted. It chooses who wields it. Káro using it, means it chose him as much as he chose it. An odd pair.
Here's the thing, while earth and fire don't go along well, Kári's alignment is more with just heat, not like a literal fire. Metal also falls under "earth", and if we specify, this sword is actually a metal aligned sword. Its enchantment works well with Kári's own alignment, making it a heated sword that can make things burn, but neither melts nor burns.
Kári's also good at enchantments, despite his lack of magic aptitude. It relies less on one's magical ability as much as one's understanding of the world — which is why enchantments are common up North, but very temporary "enhancements" are common elsewhere. The Northerners live closely linked to a belief in the world speaking to them.
This sword has been used before Kári's time. It's older than the oldest Northerner (who should be reaching the surprising age of 176 years old, which in human lifespan is equivalent to 117 year of age). It should have broken in battle a long time ago, because it's seen many. It's with great care (and much respect) that they've kept this artefact in great condition to Kári's lifetime.
And while the enchantments last long in the right environment, they need to be renewed and cared for as well. Kári himself does this excellently, and the fire enchantment of the Life Sword remain strong.
As for why it's named the Sword of Life, when it burns things…
A passionate soul brings light to life It will only stay with a flame there Remain strong in peace and in strife And passion you’ll find with this life here
This is inscribed in the scabbard in Ancient Northern tongue. That's the only clue to its name they have, aside from its nod to the Life Tree.
Ansy's Frostblade
Alright, Ansy next! This weapon is more special from a worldbuilding POV. Which means this will be heavy on, uh, "Whelthem science with a focus on biology, physics and mana".
Ansy is an OP mage. He can LITERALLY make it rain or snow if he wants to. Want it to rain fire? Will do. Grow a forest? Might be hard, but plausible.
But he does use a weapon. Except it doesn't exist.
And I realise this is gonna get real spoilery related to Ansy, but not the main plot or arc plots or anything. Like, I can't write about this properly without spoiling a lot.
Anyway.
First I need to explain witches: They absorb mana from their surroundings. They store that temporarily before they cast a spell. If the spell is quick, the mana essentially just passes through their body while it's used as a medium. This also happens if they do a long-range or AoE spell. Essentially, witches are the most suited for AoE spells, as the mana they can store in them is the equivalent to hundreds if not thousands of humans, or possibly a few average faes.
This means they also can act as a filter for the mana flow. Gather messed up mana, let out the good mana, and cleanse the shitty mana out (with help from a Priestess, probably), but that's besides the point.
They kind of continuously affect their surroundings by simply existing, because they do absorb and release mana constantly. A bit cold? Naturally gather fire mana. At a high altitude? Naturally gather air mana. Need to move faster? Naturally gather wind mana. How much they do this depends on the affinities though. Ashyll has a fire affinity, so she'll function better when her body gathers fire. She can ONLY use fire spells though — this is important.
Ansy naturally works the same way. He's a wind and air mage, so his spells are best with things like projectiles, movement, manipulating weight and cold. And, well, weather.
The thing is though, witches gather a lot of mana. Every inch of skin absorbs it. Exposed skin absorbs it better meaning that gathering works better with exposed skin, which means spells function better and are more powerful with more exposed skin (so (certain) witches don't wear much).
All this, at the end of the day, means that they might be able to mimic a mage, because though they may be called "Elemental Mages" they don't count as that. It's a fake title to reassure people. Assuming they are indeed an Elemental Mage, training enough, they can get to cruder low-level spells, but their incantations will be longer than for a normal mage. Compared to a human mage, a human would use an internal excess — how much of this excess one has and how in tune they are with it determine if they can use spells. Less mana means smaller spells, yes, but also having a storage that your body has kept for some time and is in tune with means a spell can be more precise.
Armament magic — the creation of weaponry and armour through the use of spells — needs precision.
And it also means that what they created, does not really exist.
Frostblade is like this. It's a pure ice — incredibly cold — longer dagger or shorter sword (whichever you prefer), which Ansy created through mana.
A witch would normally not mimic Armament Magic. It's too precise, requires too much on an understanding of mana that's not one's own, and also works outside one's affinity. Well, at least Ansy just needs to freeze something in the form of a blade. That would be a little easier than trying to use fire to make a sword.
What's so extra special about Frostblade — aside from the species of the creator — is that… it's not actually made by mimicking.
REVELATION TIME. /cackles
Ansy does know how to use normal magecraft and everyday spells. He can in theory do any spell a human can do. And he also knows Armament Magic. It's not the most comfortable thing, but he knows how to do it. Why he knows this… well, I'll leave that out.
But generally, Frostblade is also not purely made from Armament magic. It's more like a mixture of both.
He could make any sort of weapon though. He just chooses a longer dagger, which is very specifically named Frostblade in memory of a certain person's teachings, and because a dagger is easier to use when he needs to kill people the church wants dead. Or people he wants dead. Or people he just kills. I mean, he's essentially a part-time assassin, part-time destroyer of villages and part-time errand boi.
As for the shape, it looks like any kind of dagger, except pure ice. Created out of thin air, and returned into thin air when he no longer needs it.

Deep aismallard lore
In university I made a Tumblr account with the idea that I'd use it to talk a lot about ANSI C.
I never ended up using it though, so I never got into Tumblr. But imagine an alternate world where I posted there a lot.
