Bagi, who was previously "invited" to a mysterious island/city by its elected official, subsequently trapped on the mysterious island/city, investigated the deep mysterious history of the island/city, came to no conclusions, found her brother after years of searching, was separated once again from her brother, gained and lost an adopted daughter (possibly to being kidnapped by the island government, which was evil), gained and lost a demon fiancée (possibly to being dragged back to hell, so there's no way to find her), gained and lost a close demon friend to dubious circumstance (did he die for his children? is he with skeppy in the gas station?), and has had an unknown amount of time to process and/or suppress all of this: Sure! :D

I haven't posted here in a very long time but today is the beginning of Arkanis, the new minecraft SMP server with Pac, Bagi and many other content creators and creators that were part of qsmp and purgatory 2.

I'm not sure but i'm thinking about maybe posting about some of the players lore and cool and funny things that are happening in the server I'm gonna post it in english for anyone who's interested in watching it or maybe know the lore :)

A detailed explanation of what Arkanis' crowdfunding project is and how you can help more than you think.

Greetings non-portuguese speakers. Today I came to explain in depth about Arkanis' crowdfunding happening right now in Catarse. But before we start, I want to talk a bit about Arkanis' project as whole.

Arkanis is a Minecraft RP server, a SMP, which many of you must be familiar with already. Even if you don't know Arkanis, you probably know similar ones. The server was created by Pac (who a good amount of people met through QSMP) and friends (Tayr, Stefano, Himaru etc) with the goal to make something never seen in Brazilian Minecraft before. The project has over 15 people behind it to help make it happen. Actors, modders, programmers, builders, writers, and a whole lot more.

If you check Arkanis' YouTube channel you can clearly see the high value production that it has. The server also has multiple NPCs, including voiced ones!

(The green Ghost, Denix, is played by admin 07, who is very known for playing Richarlyson back in QSMP)

My main point of bringing up the server's production team is to tell that, for such amazing work, they're all, of course, paid. They're all paid above the minimum Brazilian wage, though its precise number wasn't disclosed. And if we just made a simple calculation, using the minimum wage as an example, despite knowing it's above that, just by paying their employees alone (excluding expenses like paying for the server etc) it's around 22k BRL per month.

Thanks to a Twitch sponsorship, the first season could run smoothly. But sadly, it got dropped. Which means without sponsorship, the budget gets tight and that's where the crowdfunding goes in.

Catarse is a popular Brazilian site made to help fund different projects. From games, books, webseries, podcasts etc. For those familiar with Cellbit, his game Enigma do Medo (Enigma of Fear), was funded through the very same site!

But what makes it better, is that you're just not just giving away your money (you can do that too, if you want to of course). It's that depending on the quantity you give, you will get some goodies!

If you click on this link you'll get a PDF with all the rewards and tiers translated to English. There it'll explain what tiers can get you t-shirts, plushies, or even becoming a character in the server for the duration of one event.

But why should you care? Well, if you're outside Latin America, there's a good chance your money is worth a lot more than you think. To make it easy for you to understand, the 500k BRL maximum goal that will greenlight the second season is only 85k USD. It means that just a tiny amount of money you donate will probably translate to A LOT and you will also get some nice rewards!

The current campaign is to reach 500k by April 19th. It's an "All or Nothing" campaign, which means, if that goal isn't met by the timeframe you WILL get your money back. That means, you shouldn't be afraid that you will donate in vain.

EXTRA GOALS

Yesterday (02/26) the official account announced two extra goals and rewards. If we reach 100k by today (GOAL ALREADY MET) if you're a Tier 3 or above, you will get an extra reward of getting a tour on the Arkanis server + meeting the actors including the little ghosties! If you're tier 5 or above, you can also participate in a mini game session with the CCs! To become a tier 5 you only need to donate 17 USD.

The second goal is to reach 150k by 03/05 and the rewards include that if you're tier 7 or above you get VIP access to extra events like: Arkanis' Oscar, Bailão do Meiaum V2, and Auau's birthday party!

Despite needing 500k to reach the basic goal, if we reach further than that, we can also get 10 non-portuguese speakers CCs on the server. But for that, we need to reach 1.3 million BRL that translates to 222k USD. The reason for such a high goal is because the translation tool is quite expensive, and it's also in dollars. For something that will be running daily non-stop for 6 months straight, the cost will build up fast!

First of all, as a disclaimer, I love the work Bagi put into q/ak!Bagi, and I know how hard it is to write an RP character, especially when your lore ends abruptly. I just wanted to vent a little about a problem I have with how ak!Bagi was interpreted.

When the server started, Bagi mentioned that ak!Bagi was the same character as her QSMP one. She explained that she didn’t want to write Tina’s lore for her, so she just made Tina conspicuously disappear or leave before Arkanis story began.

I get the sentiment, but because Bagi’s character kept living without her fiancée, she ended up writing a piece of Tina’s lore anyway, whether she meant to or not. I think it would’ve been better if she had clarified what happened between them because the uncertainty led to some weird situations.

In the early days, Bagi had a crush on ak!Matt. Whether this was just teasing between cc!Bagi and cc!Matt or if she actually wanted to roleplay the crush, I don’t know. But it was heavily tied to her missing Tina and latching onto another demon.

After a few weeks, Matt stopped joining as much and the flirting stopped completely. Tina wasn’t mentioned again until Bagi had her first date with Moon, where she brought her up in passing and referred their relationship as a “fling.” (I’m not sure how to translate saindo, but it feels super casual, considering Tina was her fiancée and they raised a child together.)

And that was pretty much it for Tina. Even when Bagi had a mental breakdown near the end of her life, she talked about losing her two children (Richas and Empy), her brother and friends but didn’t mention her fiancée at all.

I know I’m biased because they’re my favorite ship, but this just feels so weird. Tina was probably the most important person in Bagi’s life. Cellbit didn’t seem to care about her, and yet after merely a year, Bagi seemed to have completely forgotten about Tina. She didn’t even seem to try to find her, which is odd for someone who spent her whole life looking for her missing brother, instead she ended up at Valigma because she need money to survive.

So yeah, that’s my unhinged rant. Thanks to the half-dozen people who’ll actually read this, lmao. Feel free to disagree, I’m open to changing my mind if I missed something!

Arkanis Lore and where it stands at October 31! A quick rundown by me Kia disfrutalakia

Ok hi hello guys, so I'm assuming that you guys know me from qsmp times and I'm also assuming that most of you are not into Arkanis be it because of the language barrier or lack of time, but you still want to watch your favorite cc in the event tomorrow? Well, I'm here to help, under the cut will be a rundown of the main story (I won't get into characters individual lore, only if they tie into the main story which most do to be fair) plus links to some resources that you can use to understand Arkanis!

This is by no means perfect and was made from using stuff from my own memory, which is not the best, others can feel free to add onto it as they wish <3

1 - What is Arkanis?

Arkanis is a portuguese speaking server that started back in September, it's powered by twitch and was started by Boiss Studios and Ostra Content, it has a heavy focus on rp.

2- Who are the creators in Arkanis?

As of now we have 25 creators in the cast, this includes ex qsmp participants like Pac, Mike, Bagi and Felps as well as some faces you might recognize from purgatory like Guaxinim, Himaru, Gabepeixe. The complete list of creators is bellow:

Pac, Mike, Himaru, Febatista, Bagi, Matt, Felps, Yayah, Guaxinim, Cherry, JVNQ, Choke, MeiaUm, Guhzera, Gabepeixe, Quel, Coreano, Wuant, Maethe and FunBabe were the first batch of creators that we met.

Last week there was the addition of new members consisting of Moonkase, Malena, LBeatriz, NickLink, Al3xey and Kazzio.

Most of the members are brazilian except for Kazzio and Wuant who are portuguese.

3- What's the story of Arkanis?

The story takes place in the small city of Valigma, and it starts with with mayor Jota hiring people that are known to us as specialists to help the town.

Valigma used to be a beautiful town and very rich but recently things have been going wrong, with the water being poluted and the citizens wearing a strange kind of mask.

4- Rundown of what we have by now (this will contain spoilers skip to section 5 if you don't want them <3)

After the specialists arrived in town, we are quickly introduced to the mayor, Jota, who has been in power for 8 years now being in the end of his second term when we meet him, he appears to be a strange sort of character who hides many things although at the time the specialists weren't sure of what.

Apart from Jota we also have two other big characters Bia Raux and Araldo. Bia is a witch of sorts who was banished from the town due to the chaos she caused while Araldo is the owner of a factory that produces batteries in town.

A big part of the story focuses on arkanya, or what we would call magic in our world, a type of energy that lets the person who controls it cast sort of spells that can either be for something good or something bad, there is always a consequence to using it tho

One of the first big events in Valigma was the discovery of ghosts, small creatures that are consistent of pure arkanya and don't have any memories from before their deaths, they form a bond with the specialists calling them their parents even

Remember Araldo, the factory owner from earlier? Yeah he comes into play now, since the beginning he seemed like a suspicious kind of fellow, not showing up to speak with people and forming a sort of rivalry with Gabepeixe, there are cases of Araldo trying to dig into Gabe's lab and even trying to stop him from the creation of machines, not wanting the specialist to become more powerful than him.

You guys will have to forgive me here cause my memory is not the best, but there was an occasion where Araldo cast a illusion over the specialists where they got to see what would happen if they went against him, including robots who destroyed the town. This ilusion. due to needing certain power led to the death of Alice who was the mayor's secretary.

This occasion led to the discovery that Araldo was also capable of using arkanya just like Bia.

That event deeply effected most of the specialists making almost all of them distrust Araldo and even go directly against him by allying with others like Bia and Jota.

For the safety of not only the specialists but also the ghosts who they called children JVNQ made a truce with Araldo, he wouldn't attack them for 25 days and the specialists wouldn't go near the factory in return

Things seemed to be working out, that is until one night Bagi and Gabepeixe (two of the specialists who hate Araldo the most) decided to sort of challenge him or at least taunt him and broke into the factory (which remember, it was banned) and stole/destroyed a creative motor that was powering up the place, nothing happened at the moment but the next day all the specialists were called and Araldo did the most horrible thing, he killed Amora and Denix (two of the ghosts I will introduce them in the next point) draining all of their arkanya and making them dissapear.

This led to three important events, most of the specialists began to choose real sides it was either Bia or Araldo. Jv trying to get Denix back (his son) strikes a deal with Araldo and is taken for days while Choke strikes a deal with Bia to begin her training

Currently Araldo status is banished from the town and his factory is no longer part of Valigma, he remains a big threat tho.

Now what about Bia? Well, she is a witch and seems to have connections with the town from before it was made even, she is extremely powerful and even if when we met her she seems to be weaker than normal she is no less of a threat.

Bia has one objective, to destroy Valigma and she will do that doesn't matter who stands in her way.

She has recently been gaining the trust of many people in town, due to the act of bringing Denix and Amora back.

And what about Bad and Fit? Where do they fit into the lore? Well the truth is, we don't know. the character Bad seems to be playing (Mister X) had never been talked about before, so they are pretty much fresh and new, we don't know how their stuff connects yet

5- Ghosts

As I mentioned earlier, there are small entities in Valigma who are tiny ghosts that act as children for the specialsts, they include:

Denix - The first one to be found, his parents are Gabepeixe, Coreano, JVNW and Yayah

Gris - The second one to be found, her parents are Guaxinim, Quel, Maethe and Mike

Amora - third one to be found, her parents are Bagi, Felps, MeiaUm and Matt

Milo - the fourth one to be found, his parents are Pac, Himaru, Guhzera and Febatista

Tucupi - the last ghost, his parents are mostly Choke and Wuant

One thing I’ve noticed about Arkanis so far that’s just a little worrying to me is that the Lore is Constantly Happening. It’s the same problem I had with the QSMP, too: too much happening all the time will eventually overwhelm the creators and the audience. Especially if everybody has enigmas to figure out, then they have enigmas on top of enigmas on top of enigmas with no time to solve them

But this depends on how long Arkanis is projected to be. The QSMP was supposed to be a years-long project with legitimately no projected ending; it just happened to crash and burn just before it’s one year anniversary and not stop burning until the anniversary was over and the server could say it lasted 1+ years. And then it died.

But Arkanis? I’m thinking that it’ll be done sometime in January or February. It feels very Karmaland-y, and that’s a good thing! Karmaland 5 only lasted six or so months, which was a Good Thing!

I vaguely remember hearing that this current Arkanis is like a “season one” type of deal, and I hope that means that it’s shorter than not. This isn’t because I hope it ends quickly, it’s because I believe that there needs to be an ending Eventually so the server doesn’t fade into obscurity.

It does actually help that a lot of the creators seem to be focusing on their characters’ individual lores. Sure, everybody is involved in the overarching plot, but there is a Specific Character dedicated to that overarching plot. That’s Bagi, and she’s related directly to the enigma channel on the Arkanis discord.

And, unlike the QSMP, the individual lores all actually at least vaguely seem to tie into the Big Plot in some way. All of the Lore Details aren’t reserved for one or two people to discover, each character has an impact on the story and the story has an impact on them.

Tbh, this just shows the benefits of Arkanis being a dedicated rp server. Sure, yeah, you can be as invested in rp as you want as a player; Mike hasn’t been doing much besides building, I think, and that’s just fine. But the fact that Arkanis was advertised with a LOT of rp stuff and the fact that it has dedicated itself to the rp even so far as including the discord in it? Social media accounts are canon? That stuff? Really impressive.

The best way to combat burnout with this kind of stuff is to provide brain breaks. Have weekends off of lore or something. But another good way is to keep Lore from feeling like a chore. It’s fun to be an audience member actually impacting the Lore through the discord channel! It’s especially fun when you’re enigma-brained like several of the ccs are, and like a good portion of the audience is. If there’s a lot of information, it’ll be hard to get through. But it’ll be easier if you’re actually enjoying it.

And the way to enjoy it? The information needs to make sense, and that’s what Arkanis is absolutely doing right at the moment. It’s all confusing, but it’s also relatively easy to go “Oh! These characters were in the advertisements from August!” when there’s clear, yet still not too obvious, evidence showing it.

That’s what the QSMP consistently got wrong: the information just didn’t make sense. This came from a lack of planning and the workplace abuse the writers and actors faced. A lot of things came down just to what Quackity and/or the other higher ups thought would be cool or clickbait-y.

Arkanis is doing things right so far. Everything seems planned, the story actually seems to know where it’s going, and a lot of things somehow seem to relate back to the story in a way that makes sense.

But also? It’s only been a week. Who knows if the server will be able to keep this momentum up in a healthy way? I hope it does, and I have faith that it will. The guys behind the scenes almost seem to be taking the QSMP’s failures and learning from them while still creating and keeping a unique server identity.

I just hope it lasts!

YES OKAY, one of the biggest mistakes I feel was made in the creation of this server was making the main conflict of the server the cc-centric factions (I really thought they'd be temporary, but boy was I wrong...). I really thought they'd try to make the calamities or the Keepers or hell, even the damn snails antagonists for the cc's to bounce off of, but even those alleged enemies have paled in comparison to the faction stuff. what makes servers like qsmp or pac's server, Arkanis, work is that there's a central antagonist for all the cc's to be against. sure, some of the cc's are antagonistic, too, but overall, there's some evil entity working against everyone, something to make them all work together. There's so much more focus. The unity of everyone is what makes those servers shine.

Instead, it's been conflicts among ccs, and therefore communities, from the start. It's what has made the server feel so... sour, so hard to engage with, when everyone is at each other's throats, both in and out of the server.

I remember at the beginning of factions I literally said that it's just going to be a repeat of the purgatory drama, and lo and behold it's somehow even worse! Every good server that had intrigue for me was that they had a planned bigger threat that was planned by the server because you can hate a faceless entity way easier than another player. Like it's fine to have a villian character but my god the fans that justify their actions just because it's their fav ruins everything. Tr! Owen as an example: great villian, good and realistic reasons for wanting the kingdom dead. But the way people said he was in the right was infuriating because no, he wasn't! He completely made up in his mind that foolish was unkind because of his twisted perception of what kindness was: he just wanted power and to get away with whatever he wanted.

Ream fans are way too immature to have an actual cc as a villain without either never holding them accountable or sending them hate
