Fandom: Oh, she's a lesbian.

Any character: I'm not attracted to anybody.

Fandom: Well, we don't know that they're ace/aro/aroace. It's open for interpretation. They're not canonically ace/aro/aroace unless they specifically say they are.

Hmmmm. I wonder why we're so frustrated in fandom spaces. I wonder if there's a reason.

I'd like to clarify both Huffman siblings are on the Aro/Ace spectrum. Yes, both siblings are romantically involved with their respective partners. Admittedly, both Jack and Hazel's sexualities are still unknown/unclear to me.

Gavriel grew up living the heteronormative lifestyle, and since he held no particular interest towards anyone, he defaulted to being 'straight' (with some partners throughout his life, none lasting) until Jack came along.

Grace already knew herself and felt no interest in being in a relationship up until she got hyperfixated towards Hazel.

Jack has a preference towards women and has dated a few throughout his life before settling down with Gavriel.

Hazel has been with a lot of people regardless of sex and gender, but mostly men. Might be pansexual but we'll see, she only romances people she has genuine emotional connection and bond to.

sometimes i think about how eliot spencer in any other font would be such an annoying character. like he's the gruff, ex-military, man pain guy who gets all the girls. and then they said no! he's a thoughtful and kind man who children love and who has an absolutely mind-obliterating insane amount of ptsd. and he's got long hair, jewelry, and probably some sort of pronouns situation. and he's almost certainly in a sort of queerplatonic throuple with an adhd genius and the most autistic woman(?) alive. what a character

Actually every character ever is aromantic and/or asexual. Every single one of them.

Married? Platonic and/or tax benefits. Fucking? Friends with benefits.

Aros can still date and aces can still have sex, right? Great! Every allo character is now ace and/or aro! I am going to be so fucking annoying with this.

You use "arospec people can still date and feel romantic attraction " as an excuse to ship cannon aro characters , I use it as justification to headcannon characters who canonically feel romantic attraction as arospec , we are not the same

the issue with shipping aro/ace characters isn't putting them into relationships, it's the fact that no one adds how their sexuality impacts the relationship at large. And how it'll always be different from your average romantic relationship in some way.
