šµ Kodaka BlueSky Q&As: Male DR Characters (Specific) Part 1
(See part two, Nov & Dec 2024, here.)
ā ļø DISCLAIMER: Please be advised! Translations of all Japanese answers derive from a combination of Google Translate and my manager's three-quarters-remembered Japanese. We've tried our best to work out what he's saying, but there will be mistakes here and there. Do not take this as gospel!
To avoid spreading (too much) misinfo, where we're completely boggled about an answer, we've decided not to even make an attempt. We'll still list the post, but mark it accordingly.
ā”ļø AN IMPORTANT NOTE FROM KODAKA BEFORE READING:
First of all, the questions answered here are not official. Everything that is official is what is said within the work. In contrast, this is simply what Kodaka, the creator, thinks, and it is not the correct answer. Use this as a starting point to enjoy the depth of each character, or to say, "That's not right!" and enjoy it with your own interpretation. I think of this as a way of communicating with the characters who live in fiction. This is important, so please spread the word.
š FEBRUARY 2024:
Q: What do you think of Matsuda Yasuke?!
A: As I was writing, I thought he was a fascinating and cool guy.
/////
Q: Is there any difference in the mindset of Ouma Kokichi (main story) and Ouma Kokichi (salmon mode)?
A: I didn't write Salmon Mode, I left that up to the staff.
NOTE: As stated, Kodaka didn't write V3's "dating sim" mode. You'll see him refer to that a few times.
/////
Q: If you have a favorite character in Danganronpa, I'd like to hear it and why.
A: I wrote them all as if they were the main characters, so I like them all, but I guess it's Monokuma. He was the first character I created.
/////
Q: Before the release of V3, Saihara-kun was often mistaken for a woman, but was that something you were aiming for? Also, was it you who chose the voice actor?
A: That wasn't my intention. I did want him to appear timid, though. I think out of the several candidates I received, Hayashibara-san was my first choice, and I said "Yes, please!"
/////
Q: Were there any characters that you had trouble moving around the narrative after creating them? If not, please tell us which character was the easiest to move!
A: Tanaka Gundam was too much of a chuunibyou and it was difficult. The ones that were easiest to move were Monokuma, Ouma, and Hagakure!
NOTE: A "chuunibyou" is a kid, generally 12-13, who believes they have secret powers or a grand backstory. Gundham's a bit old to be a chuuni by Kodaka's own admission in the DR2 artbook, but that was apparently part of the charm (and why it was so difficult to write him). It's spiritual Naruto running.
/////
Q: A question! Fujisaki's middle school uniform is different in the anime version of DR1 (navy blue collar) and Ultra Despair Girls (pink collar). Is there any intention behind this? I'd like to play Kodaka's games even years and decades from now! I'll continue to support you š®
A: With anime, there are a lot of different things going on and things like color settings often change. Thank you! I'll keep working hard so that everyone can enjoy it, even if it kills me!
/////
Q: How happy do you think Hinata would be if you gave him some kusamochi?
A: Hinata: "Oh, kusamochi! I love it! Hey, let's eat it together! Oh, I'll go make some tea!"
NOTE: Kusamochi is a type of sweet.
/////
Q: What happens if you point an electrified hammer or Komaru's megaphone-type hacking gun at Keebo?
A: This is gross discrimination against robots! Don't ever do this!
/////
Q: Ishimaru-kun, do you like to put lemon on your fried chicken?
A: He's the type of person who likes to put lemon on others' portions as well.
/////
Q: After the ending of the Hope Arc anime, what are Hinata and the others doing? Are they still supporting the Future Foundation from behind the scenes? Or are they just normally affiliated with the Future Foundation?
A: I guess he pretends to act the role as an enemy of the world, ostensibly as an enemy of the fallen Future Foundation, but uses his talents to save various people as he moves from one place to another.
/////
Q: Could you please tell us what kind of discussions and circumstances took place among the production team that led to Tanaka Gundam's pants becoming like that?
A: It's just for fun.
/////
Q: Lately, I've been wondering about Ishimaru's life in junior high school, and I'm in a state where all I can eat is sweet food!
A: He had a free-spirited friend like Shin-chan from Crayon Shin-chan, and he was constantly being pushed around by him. But then the friend moved away, and young Ishimaru was lonely.
/////
Q: What's going on with Kamukura Izuru after Danganronpa Anime 3: Future Arc/Despair Arc? Do you feel like Kamukura Izuru has lost his personality?
A: I figured that he had fused with Hinata...or rather, that he had been almost absorbed into him.
/////
Q: I would like to know the people who are "not boring" to Ouma...
A: Boring people.
/////
Q: What do you think of Sakura Ogami, Kenshiro?
A: Although he has mixed feelings towards her, he believes she is a good rival.
/////
Q: Why did Momota-kun want to hug Akamatsu-san in v3-1? Was it because he had romantic feelings for her, or did he want her to hit on him in the confusion, or did he have any ulterior motives?
A: Momota immediately hugged her in gratitude.
/////
Q: Sorry if this has already been said. When I first watched Danganronpa, I was really drawn to Togami-kun's charm, but even though he has no flaws, does he have a weakness for his favorite person or for ____?
A: Weak to Naegi.
/////
Q: Does Komaeda Nagito know about cat memes?
A: I want to see a Komaeda cat meme. Someone make one. A Ouma cat meme would be fine too.
/////
Q: What does it look like to those around you when you are doing Logic Dives or Hangman's Gambit?
A: "Hinata! Come back! Hey, can you hear me?! No good, I'll have to give you stronger medicine!"
NOTE: It's unclear who's answering. Mikan?
š MARCH 2024:
Q: Excuse me for the second question! Komaeda's parents have passed away, so who raised him when he was a child? I'm also curious if Komaeda's hair is bed hair or naturally curly šš»
A: "I grew up alone. Luckily. I have curly hair."
/////
Q: Hello! I've always loved the Danganronpa 3 anime!! š„² (I'm waiting for new merchandise to come outā”) I have a question. After the main story of the anime, Munakata Kyosuke continues to fight the remnants of despair while carrying the memory of Yukizome and Sakakura, but did he end up finding happiness in the end? If you feel like it, please answer! šāāļø
A: He fights here and there, covered in wounds, and sometimes sleeps, reminiscing about the past... This lonely battle continues. The only time he can be happy is when he is able to forgive his own sins.
/////
Q: Please tell me what type of girl you like, Amami-kun!! (Sorry if this has already been said š¦)
A: Rich.
/////
Q: What kind of clothes does Fujisaki Chihiro like to wear (or usually wear)?
A: Unisex jeans.
NOTE: It's not exactly a question so I won't list it here, but a Chihiro fan responded with excitement, at which Kodaka replied "100 points for your reaction."
/////
Q: What is your favorite food, Momota-kun? What is your favorite drink? Or your favorite planet or your favorite galaxy. Anything is fine, I want to know. Please tell me about Momota-kun.
A: "I like big portions and colorful things. Things that have an American feel to them."
/////
Q: Excuse me for asking a question...! When he goes to a restaurant such as a family restaurant to celebrate a sports festival or cultural festival, does Keebo have to split the bill?
A: "I split the bill. I have fun using the serving robots."
NOTE: Probably referring to restaurants in Japan that have automated servers. Cold, Keebo.
/////
Q: What kind of dreams does Ouma-kun have when he catches a cold?
A: Infinitely multiplying Keebos.
/////
Q: I wonder what would happen if you forced food and drink into Keebo's mouth?
A: It comes out of the lower half of his body as warm as a microwave oven.
/////
Q: I like Kuwata Leon, and I want to know more about him. Are there any stories about him that haven't been revealed yet? I'd like to know if there are any...
A: "I'm always looking for band members. Lately, I've been thinking about getting into TikTok, so I'm recruiting cute girls."
/////
Q: Please tell us what type of girl you like, Komaeda-kun!
A: "I love girls who are full of hope, and I hate girls who are full of despair too much to love them."
/////
Q: Ouma was held captive by Gonta overnight in a pretty hopeless room with a ton of bugs flying around, so how did he manage to survive?
A: "I stopped thinking about it."
/////
Q: Please tell me what type of girl Owada Mondo likes!!
A: At the very least, he seems to dislike noisy ones.
/////
Q: I want to know what type of girl Ouma likes!
A: "Anyone who will listen to anything I say."
/////
Q: Does Fujisaki have a favorite food?
A: Mini katsudon.
NOTE: Katsudon is a pork cutlet bowl.
/////
Q: Hi Mr. Kodaka! What kind of music does Monokuma like? Is it different than what Junko would like?
A: Monokuma likes enka.
NOTE: Enka is a Japanese style of music often compared to the blues or jazz.
/////
Q: whats korekiyos favorite holiday?
A: To make friends with his sister.
/////
Q: What did Jin think of the Reserve Course? Did he see them as a cash cow, like the researchers at Hope's Peak, or as talentless underachievers?
A: Originally it was meant to be a safety net and a growth opportunity, but at some point it became mainly about collecting payments, which caused some conflict.
/////
Q: [You guys are going to think I'm making this up, but I believe the question had something to do with how Nagito would ask Hajime to hang out with him. It's since been deleted, but I think there are still screenshots, which I will find and half-assedly machine translate ASAP.]
A: "First, I have to do something about Nanami."
/////
Q: [Similar to the above, I'm pretty sure this question had to do with how Nagito would ask someone out romantically. Again, it's since been deleted, but I think there are still screenshots, which I will, again, find and half-assedly machine translate ASAP.]
A: "I'll go out with you if you do something about Nanami."
/////
Q: Excuse me for asking a question! In Ultra Despair Girls, Fujisaki Taichi had a photo of Fujisaki [Chihiro] in a sailor uniform, looking like they were in their rebellious phase (?)! It's so cute! I'd really like to know how the photo was taken and if there are any untold details about the Fujisaki family!
A: No matter what Fujisaki [Chihiro] is, their father can't help but take pictures because they are a cute kid, but Fujisaki [Chihiro] themself is embarrassed, and since those around them are becoming more and more rebellious, they are acting a little like a rebel, but later they will probably feel sorry for their father and be depressed.
/////
Q: I want to know what type Saihara-kun likes!!!
A: People with a strong sense of purpose, regardless of gender.
/////
Q: When Kodaka's account was hacked on April Fool's Day, Ouma referred to Gokuhara as a friend from his school days, but is there anyone else Ouma could call a friend other than Gokuhara?
A: "Once I talk to someone, we're friends. If I meet someone, we're friends. However, I don't mind putting my friends through bad situations."
/////
Q: What should I do to date Ouma-kun?
A: I think he would be amused and come up to you if you first implanted a brain into an animal, or mounted in a car, or a full-body prosthesis.
š„¬ APRIL 2024:
Q: Sorry if this question has already been asked. Ouma-kun reminds me of someone who can fall in love with anyone who is fun to be with. Does Ouma-kun care about gender, or can he fall in love with anyone he finds interesting regardless of gender? Does he only fall in love with interesting people ć»ć»ć»? āāļø Thank you, Mr. Kodaka.
A: It has nothing to do with gender or romantic feelings, it's just about whether it's fun or not.
/////
Q: What kind of girls does Gonta Gokuhara like?
A: A girl who likes bugs.
/////
Q: I have a little question, what kind of sweets Kazuichi likes besides sweet drinks? Gummies, marshmellows, chocolate or maybe something else? :3
A: I think he likes colorful candy.
/////
Q: Even though you have a serious personality, Amami-kun, you look like you're frivolous to everyone around you, so is there a reason why you wear so many accessories? Or do you simply like fashion?
A: "I just like fashion. I dress the way I like when I can, especially since I'm in an environment where I can't dress fashionably."
/////
Q: What does Ouma Kokichi think about being short?
A: "I'm lucky that it doesn't feel intimidating."
/////
Q: Were the execution machines in Danganronpa 1 made by Soda from Danganronpa 2?
A: You've got a good point, don't you?
/////
Q: Excuse me for asking a question! Was Dr. Idabashi, who created the Ultimate Robot Keebo, also a student at Hope's Peak Academy?
A: I'll take that story!
/////
Q: who would you choose to solve a mystery and why? kirigiri, saihara or halara?
A: It would be great if the three of them performed together!
šŗ MAY 2024:
Q: What is Komaeda Nagito usually thinking about?
A: "Is there hope lost somewhere?"
/////
Q: What did Kamukura-kun think of Hinata-kun?
A: The most boring.
/////
Q: Which Danganronpa character do you think would like shark movies?
A: Soda.
/////
Q: Excuse me for asking a question! Is the story about the school festival in the Danganronpa original drama CD written by Kodaka-san? There is a scene in the drama where Fujisaki wants to wear a cute apron, which was quite unexpected for Fujisaki in the main story, so it was a shock. Was there a possibility that Fujisaki would embrace cute things in the main story as well?
A: I think I only wrote the very first one. The one that has a white and black disc. If I remember correctly.
/////
Q: Iām curious, What kind of person does Kokichi like?
A: rich person
/////
Q: Excuse me for asking a question! I think that in the articles(?) released during the development stage there were many scenes that were not in the main story. Were these scenes faked to hide the contents of the main story, or were they actually there during production? I'm curious if there were any scenes where Fujisaki-kun was suspected in court!
[This person included this image:]

A: This is an image made up for a proposal. It was made before the story even existed.
āļø JUNE 2024:
Q: How many characters in Danganronpa will listen to Komaeda's long speeches until the end?
A: None.
/////
Q: I'd like to know something about Komaeda Nagito's childhood, even if it's something trivial!!
A: "I wore diapers."
/////
Q: I'm curious how Komaeda-kun would express his feelings if he fell in love with someone.
A: He'd put you in a very unhappy situation in order to make you feel the hope of happiness.
/////
Q: Hello, Kodaka! It's an honor to ask you a question... so how can we interpret Nagito's ambiguous relations with certain characters in the series? Just saying.
A: Please interpret it as you wish.
/////
Q: Were Shinguji-kun's parents aware of his relationship with his sister? If so, what did they think about it?
A: I'll keep my mouth shut because if I mention it, I'll get in a horrible lot of trouble.
NOTE: Kodaka's talking as himself here, pretending like if he says anything he'll get hurt in some way. Don't take this as solid fact, but I think the implication here is less an IRL one (Spikechun would be mad) and more an in-universe one (Kork and Korkette would do something to you). But, again: that is me and my manager's theory.
/////
Q: Would Togami also use polite language when speaking to someone higher up in the organization?
A: He does not use honorifics. Byakuya is Byakuya.
/////
Q: Why did Kamukura's hair grow so long and his eyes change color?
A: Abnormal development.
/////
Q: Who is the most possible female character that would or might have a romantic relationship with Komaeda during Danganronpa 2? (Only characters in Danganronpa 2)
A: female character?
NOTE: The infamous post. It's reaaaaaaal.
/////
Q: Excuse me for asking! Keebo is a school uniform wearing robot, but what about summer uniforms? Are there times when he no longer wears a school uniform?
A: [His summer uniform is a] cooling fan installed on the side.
/////
Q: If Hinata-kun were to be punished, what do you think it would be like? I think he would die a boring death quickly.
A: Incidentally, I once came up with the idea of punishing him by freezing both his hands and feet with liquid nitrogen, and then shocking him to death as he watching them get crushed by a hammer⦠but of course I rejected the idea.
/////
Q: Togami-kun may be the most handsome among 1, 2, and V3, but who are the other students who can be called handsome? I think Ishimaru-kun might actually fall into the handsome guy category!
A: Keebo in terms of being well-groomed and having no skin problems.
/////
Q: Since Nagito Komaeda often says that despair is a stepping stone to hope, I don't have an image of Nagito Komaeda being troubled. However, I would like to hear what kind of worries he has if any!
A: If she were to become an adult, it would be Peko. The one who surpasses her is Tsumiki.
NOTE: As in, he'd worry about Peko or Mikan. Now, whether Kodaka means Geeto would worry about them as people or over the fact that they'll kick his ass, that's less clear. But they're on his mind.
š JULY 2024:
Q: A question from a Teruteru fan (keeping with the topic of it being hot outside): Who do you think is the character with the most romantic potential for Hanamura?
A: Hanamura.
/////
Q: Hello sensei, I have a question. I'm seeing a controversy going on right now with overseas fans being attacked by people who are associating Komaeda with female characters using this post. Is Komaeda really gay? Or is this just a joke post? It's said to be official information, but is it true?
A: It's so hopeless. The more hopeless it is, the brighter hope shines.
NOTE: This was about the infamous Female Character? post.
/////
Q: How do you view women and men, Komaeda? Does he have different opinions about them or is he simply indifferent to both genders?
A: Ask Komaeda himself.
NOTE: I probably won't be archiving many more of the Komaeda sexuality posts unless they're particularly funny or insightful, because a lot of them are repetitive. Sorry. Kodaka's not budging, y'all.
/////
Q: Can Komaeda drive?
A: With his luck.
/////
Q: If there was a cut-in where Togami would rebuttal, what do you think he would say?
A: "Bow down, you fools!"
/////
Q: If Nagito were to play videogames, which game and/or genre is his favorite?
A: Gorilla Tag
NOTE: Like the Steam VR game...? Maybe? Unless this is referring to something I can't parse out. Kind of hilarious to imagine Nagito as a return to monke guy, though.
/////
Q: What's Momota's favorite planet?
A: The first one he'll discover.
/////
Q: Since Matsuda Yasuke worked on the Kamukura project, did he perform the operation?
A: More or less, you know what I mean?
NOTE: Disclaimer on this one, as we're not 100% sure what he's trying to say or if he's just being silly as usual. We think he's casually implying that Matsuda outlined the experiment but didn't actually perform it, so he kind of did "do" the operation in a symbolic/spiritual sense. Especially since we believe it's canon Matsuda did not wield the scalpel so to speak? If we recall correctly? Regardless, if anyone can shed light on this, we'd be appreciative. Completely unrelated: his use of "ćććć£ćć" wakarussho made my manager laugh, as she says that's something no middle aged man would say. It's more of a teenaged girl/gyaru kind of thing, but Kodaka often talks like this apparently. Channeling Junko...
/////
Q: If Saihara-kun were to be executed, what do you imagine it would be?
A: He wakes up in a hospital after the ending of Danganronpa V3 and it was all just a dream with him in a vegetative state.
/////
Q: What would it be like if Ouma-kun was punished?
A: It's live action. And the actors are amateurs who just monotone "It's a lie!"
š AUG 2024:
Q: I was looking at a conversation about punishments, and I was wondering, if Kamukura was to be punished, what would it be like?
A: He would be reminded endlessly of the days he spent as Hinata Hajime.
/////
Q: Please tell me why Keebo hates vending machines! I'll do anything!
A: I think he has mixed feelings whenever he sees a machine that is only being used by humans. Imagine this. What if a human being was deprived of the freedom to speak and move, and was forced to only accept money and offer drinks?
/////
Q: Are you naturally not smart, Ishimaru-kun? Do you feel like you make up for it through hard work?
A: "I'm just a serious and straightforward person who believes that hard work will always be rewarded."
/////
Q: Ouma's skin is as white as a corpse. Why is it like that?
A: Because Ouma is definitely unhealthy.
/////
Q: Was there a time when Hinata would repeatedly try new things in order to get into Hope's Peak Academy, only to be devastated by the fact that he had no talent?
A: "That's right. I kept repeating that cycle and realizing that I would never amount to anything."
š SEPT 2024:
Q: Personally, I have the image of Komaeda having low blood pressure and being a bit bad at waking up in the morning, but on the other hand, I get the feeling he might wake up very early and say things like "This is a morning of hope!" Kodaka-san, do you think Komaeda is good or bad at waking up in the morning?
A: "I wake up in despair, wondering if the morning of hope will come soon."
/////
Q: [The question has now been deleted, but the answer is cute, so I'm keeping it despite the lack of context.]
A: For Ouma, love is just a game.
š OCT 2024:
Q: I'd like to know what Saihara's casual clothes look like.
A: āI like simple clothes and don't like flashy ones. I don't like patterns either. I always wear the same clothes.ā
/////
Q: Even though Togami is such an important character in the franchise, why has he never been added to any merchandise collaborations?Ā
A: I wonder why? Is he unpopular? Maybe it's pressure from the Togami conglomerate...
/////
Q: Does Sakakura Juzo have any friends other than Munakata Kyosuke and Yukizome Chisa?
A: āThe only other people I have are subordinates.ā
/////
Q: What specific crimes does Ouma Kokichi's organization (DICE) commit?
A: Very stupid and annoying crimes.
/////
Q: Is there anything decided for Amami-kun's punishment? I'm sorry for asking you so many questionsš¦
A: All of his sisters gather together and go on a voyage, but a killing spree breaks out and they disappear one by one, leaving only one person left, unable to be saved... He commits suicide after having nightmares about it.
NOTE: This one's weird, so take it with a grain of salt. My manager and I aren't sure if Kodaka's saying that Rantaro's sisters would all kill each other and then he'd commit suicide, or the last remaining sister would commit suicide. We're also unsure if Rantaro would be participating in said killing game. You might be thinking that Rantaro would be the suicide, but not all of Kodaka's BSky punishments are actual fatal executions. Some he's devised are really just torture. Regardless, Rantaro gets a horrifying deal here.
/////
Q: If there was a punishment for Ki-Bo, what would it be like?
A: He has been modified into a vending machine, and although he has thoughts, he cannot speak; he simply takes money and hands out drinks, until one day he breaks down and is miserably discarded.

imo this is another reason itās so frustrating to have these young idk ~20 year old type ācontent creatorā shills treating this entire thing like itās some z-list western youtuber vs youtuber drama blasting no-context and misinfo out buckshot to their extremely impressionable young audience. when you look at their social medias their entire online life revolves around this specific game company and playing their games and posting about their games and making ācontentā about their games and following other kids who post about their games and play their games and post about their games etc. - essentially consumption of this media has become a central facet of their personality, and any slight on the product is now a slight on them personally. thereās also a growing cult of personality around the director that fosters another type of parasocial relationship. Iāve never witnessed āfandomā spaces for an extended period of time like this so itās been surprising to me just how extreme all of this gets. But when something threatens the media that these fans have tied so closely to their sense of self they are going to be easily manipulated into placing the blame on a particular group or separating into an Us vs Them mentality. In this case so many of them have been laser focused on exonerating Project Moon that theyāre slandering and putting targets on artists who do not deserve to be harassed and groups that are genuinely helping victims of feminist ideological verification in South Korea. at some point the short-sightedness of this becomes obscene.
I donāt think any of these kids and young adults (not saying this to demean you, the typical age group is ~ 16-22) comprehend the severity of the systemic issue that Project Moon had (and has) put itself into. This isnāt My Side vs Your Side, this is about violent antifeminism, systemic misogyny and workerās rights in South Korea. This is not about you as a fan of a videogame, especially if you do not live there. Again I genuinely do not think Project Moon superfans should be making posts about this issue if you are looking at it in the latter way and not the former. You see this as some ādramaā or āeventā that effects you and the fans as individuals and the words āvellmori left on her ownā or āwatch the videoā will make people stop talking about it. You repeat this with no contextual knowledge of how any of the labor laws or defamation laws in South Korea work, you look at this case in the bubble of your video game and nothing else. No one serious is doing this tit for tat bullshit in South Korea. Iāve literally been following this case and similar cases for over a year now, you can scroll through this entire blogās archive and see the landslide of similar feminist ideological verification cases that have taken place since Project Moonās. PM 7/25 is still referenced as a significant event when newspapers publish articles about this issue. No one is waffling about if the artist left on her own, they understand the situation in their own country. The strange idea that has somehow spread in the English speaking community that KGCS is some grifter group is absolutely baffling. The posts in english āwarningā not to donate to them were hilarious at best and extremely condescending at worst, youāre talking like this is some scam gofundme. They probably donāt even know you exist. They typically raise the money they need within a couple of hours, close the donation pool, and then refund anyone who asks. This group not only helped Studio Ppuriās animator avoid being fired in an event that almost mirrored project moonās, they raised money for her legal fees that she used to press criminal charges against her harassers and helped set up meetings with the animation directors to explain the ācontroversialā shots. This was one of the biggest cases of targeted attacks from incel men, it had the chickenshit company Nexon deleting Studio Ppuriās videos and their studio name was removed from the credits in the Korean broadcast of Solo Leveling. you can search the studio ppuri tag on this blog to see it all, Iāve found an article that has a short interview with the animator that Iāll post later.
Needless to say this is a serious societal, systemic issue, it does not deserve some westerners butting their heads in because they donāt want to feel guilty about playing a videogame. Itās disturbing to see this treated like some drama you just want to be over. itās gross to watch information twisted and used in pedantic tit for tat arguments you only care about the end product of - āwinningā and stopping any further discussion or ādramaā. Please get some perspective.

I am going to be honest. I think my love for Levi is dissipating which just makes me sad. There's just too much discourse going on around his character that just makes me feel like a split personality type of thing idk. On Twitter most canonize him as queer/subby. And some people here try to force more suffering onto him. Which I stick to canon and know there's no proof of it but when everyone keeps saying it it just kind of feels like an attempt to override canon. There's nothing wrong with headcanon but now people treat so much headcanon as canon, spreading misinfo and then people run with it. At some point I feel like is something even canon if so many people disregard it. I know technically it is canon but then to me personally I can't help but feel disturbed. I know I should stick to reading only canon materials but I have already read the manga and watched the anime. I would like to read extended materials from fans but doing it has only left me with a nagging feeling because there's so much weird but popular takes about his character. So much that people actually believe. I see it on Twitter and Tiktok, literally tens of thousands, even millions of people believe these takes. And now that Aot is over, they are going to have that takes as canon forever. The thought is just crazy to me. The Erwin x Levi(Eruri) tag on Tiktok has 1.1 billion views that are full of different takes. It's just outrageous
You shouldn't let them do that to you anon and I will be honest with you, I don't have twitter and I do not engage with the fandom on tiktok for more than one reason, shipping being a large one. Erwin and Levi are an mlm ship, mlm ships have always been more popular amongst fandom, funny thing is, even today, Eren x Levi is still the most popular ship which is nuts. What I do is I engage with the fandom on here and on YouTube, on YouTube mostly people who aren't really part of the fandom are on there so they see those characters for what they are. I can't change someone mind on how they see Levi, if they see him as some subby clingy uwu boy for Erwin or whoever, good for them, it just proved to me that the ship they follow is more important than Levi's character. Also, I doubt that, what I have been seeing since aot ended is people on tiktok and twitter actually calling these people out and telling them that Levi deserves better treatment from the fandom. They can't overrun canon Levi, they aren't the author nor are they that big, trust me. It may seem like Eruri is huge online but it's the minority. In real life aot fans mostly never engage in ships or ridiculous takes because canon is enough for them, most are shocked to learn that people ship Levi with Erwin or whoever. Shippers aren't as powerful as they seem, anon haha. I think the best for you would be to avoid toxic apps such as tiktok and twitter. YouTube would be my best recommendation, people on there are normal and you won't find shippers running all over the place.

hey just a psa, thereās this blog called @/understandingclusterb-npd and they are⦠atrocious.
I donāt usually mention individual blogs or directly call out anyone, but I mention the blog name here because I want people to be aware and avoid this blog if possible. Basically everything they spread is active villainization and misinformation about narcissistic people. Itās all the classic falsehoods of ānarcissists are inherently evil people who abuse everyone they knowā, which is a narrative that is factually not true and despicable to spread. Please stay away from them and any other blog that might be run by the same person, as the format of the username seems to imply there being more blogs.
They have closed their ask box and restricted their comments, probably because actual people with npd have been trying combat their misinformation and tell them to stop.
The nerve to call the blog āunderstanding cluster bā and then actively spread misinfo and ignore the actual people youāre talking about is fucking astounding to me in the worst way possible.
#text post#psa#sanism#tw sanism#npd safe#this kind of stuff disgusts me and Iām not even narcissistic myself-

Hi, so I am not an expert on pagan or really any non Christian belief. I was raised in the church but due to religious trauma and just some generally traumatic experiences I left with some bitterness and anger. I donāt feel like worshipping one deity is for me, I recently started to use Tarot however and it honestly⦠really works! Interpreting the cards in reference to my life and existence has been really mentally regulating for me. Iām interested in Helpol as a theology and even a way of living but I donāt really know where to start in terms of actually getting involved in the faith, all I know is Iāve been having these dreams during the night and feelings during the day calling me to this faith. Iāll also be real, I havenāt really engaged with Helpol outside of occasionally seeing TikToks or tumblr posts about it. I havenāt really gotten into these feelings but I saw your blog and Iām genuinely interested and curious as to how I could incorporate what Iām already doing (Tarot) into this kind of faith or if I should avoid using Tarot so as not to offend the gods? Any advice is welcome. Thank you for all you do, your blog has been super informative and Iām glad you exist, you wonderful human!
First, I wanna say I really appreciate the kind words, I needed to hear this today. It means a lot.
Iām also so glad that youāve been able to have a better spiritual experience with tarot and I hope you find Helpol just as healing. I certainly find this religion incredibly beautiful.
You can absolutely use tarot, whether thatās as part of Helpol or a separate spiritual practice. I personally use them as a communication tool with my deities ā same way youād use them ordinarily by reading the cards, except you invite the deity to speak through them and explain the situation to them if thereās a specific thing you want to ask about.
In terms of starting out, the best advice I can give is to do research on any deities who interest you, and make an offering.
Iād say definitely donāt trust most of what you see on Helpol tiktok, I also would be a bit skeptical of communities here on tumblr and of a lot of discord servers. Theyāre very much full of beginners ā which is fine, because beginners definitely need community and theyāre definitely more than welcome on my blog! But the problem when itās a community/discord server is that you end up getting a ton of beginners spreading misinfo and nobody is around to correct it. That said, Iām certainly not an expert myself. But I have been doing this like three years, I have done a lot of research, and Iām very open to being corrected, which is far easier to do on here than a community or a server.
Theoi.com is a great place to learn about sleciifc deities and I have a few very basic overviews of Helpol stuff linked in my pinned. I also really recommend @khaire-traveler
If youāve got any other specific questions about the religion, please let me know! And if you do end up sending in another ask feel free to give yourself a signature, which could be an emoji or a word! Itās lovely to have you here š¤

(Ok i typed more than i meant to feel free to not read if youād so preferš©µ)
while what you say about the proshipping label is something i somewhat agree with (as in realizing how many people identify the term with certain meaning) i do wish to point out that calling it āold fandom usageā isnāt really accurateā¦
obviously itās no one elseās buisness how you choose to define it and this isnāt a hate ask or anythingš„° /genuine
iām also against comship, (or proship whichever you wish to call) although comshipping would be the correct term for dark ships
itās also just a little weird to see it said that āno one uses thatā when a lot of people do. truly a lot. they simply do not shout it as loudly from what i observe, that section of people are just quieter and keep to themselves more, because of the amount of new fandom people who bulldoze them from what i understand. those people are loudest, and this switch in definitions didnāt happen until the past few yearsā¦these people who have used that label for years but suddenly are expected to not because of misinfo that was spreadā¦.its a very interesting( and probably unfortunate )phenomenon in fandom spaces!
again you can ignore this iām sorry if this comes off as annoying, i just am an old lady in fandom spaces and i see a lot of misinfo around fandom talk..
by its definition proshipping means āpeople can do what they want and itās my responsibility to block or move onā , itās moreso a freedom of speech thing, comshipping is when you ship problematic things (although by definition the problematic things are probably defined by the user.)
i donāt like dark ship one bit, but i understand that theres serious repercussions when it comes to censorship,and that i donāt know peoples life stories or who they are as people. itās media and no one forces me to consume any type of media, and iām more than happy to block people if i donāt like or agree with it. most of those people also are VERY adamant about blocking them if you donāt like it,from my experience!
anyways again iām so sorry if this is just an annoying word dump for you, i just thought i should share some perspective since i feel like this is a serious fandom thing, a lot of people get harassed for misunderstanding. i personally donāt like perpetuating labels and definitions that are based on misinformation, but again no oneās allowed to tell you what you have to do and you can just move on and ignore this if you so pleaseš©µš©µš©µš©µš©µ/genuine
understanding that a lot of new fandom talk is built on misinfo and being aware of that is a solid take, however i donāt think redefining and people choosing to interpret a textbook definition, a correct one, should be blamed on the person using the correct terminology
again your opinion is yours and personally i respect it šš absolutely no hate or pressure these sort of discussions simply interest me
also it makes so much sense to use proshippers as a dni buzzword because of how many people are misinformed, i just hate to see it be continued when as a fandom space we all could choose to return to correct definitions and use those
again. using it to avoid the masses is understandable, itās just unfortunate
i love your art and stories and iām continually excited to see what you come up with next!!! i hope you have a great day!!! (or night)š©µš©µš©µš©µš©µ and no pressure to answer this i understand that itās an annoying ask to answerš¶
Will say this once, I am very aware of what PRO-SHIPPING used to represent and what the older people in fandoms still use it for. However, that does not change the fact that rhe definition has changed. It just has. Any google search will tell you that. And though I can understand how that can be frustrating for you, I will still be saying dni proshippers and still seeing it as a problematic term due to the fact thatās how itās primarily used. Its old definition is an old fandom term now. The people who still use it are as you said, from the older fandom times. Meaning that yes, itās old definition is now inaccurate and also no longer represents what it means and trying to win it back or convince people otherwise wonāt work, especially since I am not the one who misconstrued this old definition. I am not one of the new gen proshippers who changed this for you. Your issues would be with them, not me, a random artist who is keeping up with the times and avoiding problematic people from coming onto her page. I am trying to protect my page with the new gen knowledge. Reminiscing on the past in my ask box does nothing as I have no case in the change.
It has changed. Itās frustrating, but thereās nothing to be done. You acknowledge this yourself, and yet still claim itās misinformation when itās not. Itās an old term that turned into a new definition. That happens in history multiple times. It doesnāt mean itās misinformation or wrong. It means that time has changed it and a new generation of people have taken the word, and that happens with the dialect of our world every century. The older proshipping definition, therefore, is old fandom history. And the people who still use it are going by those older rules which STILL equals to old fandom definition. The only people using it go by outdated fandom rules, expectations, and are possibly older. Thatāsā¦.literally a combo of what makes an outdated and older used definition. And using these definitions knowing full well what the change has done to the word with the defense of āin old fandom times it was differentā also makes me have little pity for you as if youāre fully aware and still chose to sport the label, thatās on you. Not saying you do this, just using an example.
Yes we have different opinions. It just makes no sense that you brought this to my askbox when I didnāt ruin the word for you. Itās the new generation proshippers. If you have a problem with it, go speak to them and their community who uses these terminology. I cant do anything?? And if you just wanted a discussion, Iām the last person to have a discussion with as I keep far away from the new community and also canāt speak for them?? This reads more like ur upset bc you use the label and therefore cant interact than an actual discussion, bc if you had a real problem with the change, you would NOT be in MY askbox. And yet you claim ur against proshipping soā¦it makes no sense
At the end of the day, this fandom deep dive stuff makes my head spin. Why are we defending incest lovers. Why are we trying to find an exact term for these weirdos. It doesnāt matter. It really doesnāt matter in the grand scheme of things what an old fandom definition means because this is so chronically online bull. Weird ships are weird fucking ships. And those weirdos who make them use proshipping as a label. Therefore, I put them on a dni and block. Itās literally that simple and fandom terminology discourse is so insane to me Iām sorry LMAO. Like I have work in three hours dude I canāt with this šš
#cooling rosa answers silly stuff#tw proshippers#Rosa is tired#Rosa is tired of fandom bullshit#Rosa feels her sanity slowly slipping/j#guys I canāt with this like it doesnāt matter it really doesnāt I just want fresks to stay away from me#I appreciate you being nice in the ask tho. Iām not mad at you I just think none of this irl matters and Iām not the person you logically#should be upset with#go to a proshippers page and say this#they are the ones who did this change š idk what you want me to say bout it

šµ Kodaka BlueSky Q&As: Misc DR & Multiple Characters
ā ļø DISCLAIMER: Please be advised! Translations of all Japanese answers derive from a combination of Google Translate and my manager's three-quarters-remembered Japanese. We've tried our best to work out what he's saying, but there will be mistakes here and there. Do not take this as gospel!
To avoid spreading too much misinfo, where we're completely boggled about an answer, we've decided not to even make an attempt.
Q: Out of all the characters that have appeared so far, who is your favorite visually?
A: As a fan, Haruko from FLCL. Among my own creations...hmmm, Monokubs lol and Enoshima.
/////
Q: Sorry if this has already been said! I saw a tweet saying that Fukawa Toko's novel "Before the Scent of the Sea Disappears" was made into a short film by Kodaka Kazutaka! Is there anywhere I can see it?
A: I don't have it..! I have the data on my PC, butā¦lol
/////
Q: Are you interested in making games in the world of Ultimate Talent Development Plan? I would like to see all the characters together. (Sorry my Japanese is not very good. I am using a translator.)
A: It's too early to tell. I'll continue to make more and more characters.
/////
Q: I love Ultra Despair Girls, but it's sad that so few people are playing it š¢ Are there plans for a port or remake for the Switch?
A: It's an absolute masterpiece! I'm proud to say that it has the heaviest storyline I've ever written, and the friendship at the end will have you in tears. And it's also pretty fun to take down all the Monokumas in one fell swoop. The controls are a bit rough in some areas, so I'd like to tweak them and re-release it. But maybe that last possibility is impossible in today's world...
/////
Q: What is your favorite chapter in the Danganronpa series?
A: Hmm, Chapters 1 and 6 of 1, and Chapters 5 and 6 of 2. Maybe Chapters 1, 5 and 6 of 3.
/////
Q: I love Danganronpa Zero, and I'd like to ask if there were any particular things that you were thinking about when you were writing it.
A: At the time, it was my first novel in about five years, and although I said "I'll do it" lightly, I wasn't good at writing the narrative, and after pushing myself into scrapping it many times, I finally managed to get it done by writing the narrative from the protagonist's point of view.
/////
Q: I got hooked on the Danganronpa series when I was in elementary school and am now a working adult!! Danganronpa is my favorite work of all time! Of course I played Rain Code too!! I love how Shinigami-chan grows and becomes more human as the story progresses! I wonder if a sequel to Danganronpa is really possible...? I'm also waiting for a sequel to Rain Code I'll keep waiting until I die! I love you!
A: From elementary school to working adultā¦! Thanks to Danganronpa, you've become a fine adult! Neither sequel is impossible. I'd like to expand more, get results from other new works, and make myself more valuable, and do it when it's best for me.
/////
Q: Are there any characters that have a secret backstory in any of the Danganronpa works?
A: For the most part, there are still stories that we haven't talked about.
/////
Q: This may be a question that can't be answered (it may have been asked already), but in the bad ending of Danganronpa, Togami holds a portrait of Fukawa, and there is a child of Togami? Will the truth about that ever come to light?!
A: With the loss of Kirigiri, and the decision to live together within the school, everyone had a change of heart and decided to join hands. Fukawa stopped belittling herself, and Togami stopped being arrogant, and the two started dating, but the next day Fukawa died in an accident. She died after choking on a dumpling, and Togami was confused, believing it was a curse from Celes. As Asahina comforted the depressed boy, things just sort of happened and Togami's child was born. Asahina loves children, and decided that this was her mission and she would give birth to everyone's children. And since that was all there was to do in the boring school life, everyone did it a lot. After that, she gave birth to more than 10 children, and the school flourished.
NOTE: This is the worst thing I have ever read.
/////
Q: I can't help but wonder about the night that Asahina, Hagakure, Togami, and Fukawa spent in the gym in Chapter 5 of Danganronpa. What were they doing that night?
A: I think they were standing in the dark gymnasium, each at one of the four corners, going around tapping the shoulder of the next person in the corner...
/////
Q: The "motivation video" that appeared in V3 featured someone important to each character, but it wasn't revealed who was in the motivation video for the characters in the main story. Did you have a set idea in mind of "this character is this person", Mr. Kodaka? Some characters talk about family or special people in Free Time scenarios, but there are also some characters who don't talk about such things, so I'm curious.
A: I had it set at the time, but I've forgotten about it...
NOTE: ugh
/////
Q: What's your favorite romantic pairing in danganronpa?
A: Monomi and Monokuma.
/////
Q: I love the scene in Chapter 6 of the original Danganronpa where the mastermind and the scissors girl (I will not reveal her name for now) meet and politely greet each other. Mr. Kodaka, are there any funny or gag scenes from the Danganronpa series or Rain Code that you like?
A: There are heaps of gag scenes and funny scenes, but when I first saw Monokuma and Monomi's comedy routine in 2 with their lines incorporated, I felt something otherworldly that I'd never heard before. We record out of order, so after incorporating it with the game, I was surprised at how otherworldly it was.
/////
Q: I would like you to publish profiles of Danganronpa Zero characters! Please do so!
A: Let's ask Spikechun! Spikechun reserves all rights! Let's all protest and demand that these profiles be made public!
/////
Q: In the summary of the materials for Danganronpa 1, there was a detailed description of the non-killers' punishments, but I wonder if those will ever be made into a movie...? I've been dying to see it š„²
A: It's not exactly a good idea to capture people dying on filmā¦
/////
Q: Who is the most popular character in Danganronpa? I would be happy if you could tell me one male and one female!
A: My personal opinion is... For guys, it's Shinguji. There are girls who are attracted to weird guys like that. For girls, it's Iruma. There are boys who are attracted to weird girls like that.
NOTE: I believe this is IRL, not in-universe, as Kodaka later answers who has the most friends in-universe, and it's not Miu or Kork.
š MARCH 2024:
Q: Excuse me for asking a question! Who is the strongest drinker among Munakata, Yukizome, and Sakakura? š„¹
A: It's probably Yukizome.
/////
Q: Among the BGM used in the original, 2, and V3, is there any that you particularly like, Mr. Kodaka? I absolutely love New World Order from the original, DANGANRONPA SUPER MIX from 2, and V3 Discussion - SCRUM - from V3!
A: The punishment music was created first, and it created a Danganronpa atmosphere, or rather a playful yet serious atmosphere, so it has a deeply cryptic vibe.
/////
Q: I bought Danganronpa again on Steam and had my ex-girlfriend play the whole series, and she got hooked. This may be mentioned in other media, but are there any characters who weren't meant to die but ended up dying?
A: While I was writing, some roles were switched, but I don't think there were many changes to the plot. I think it was Nidai and Kuzuryu who switched roles...
NOTE: His memory is correct. Beta designs show a Fuyuhiko-like character who was meant to the the team manager, and a mafia guy who was a big Nekomaru-ish dude.
/////
Q: In the Danganronpa series, you get underwear when your bond with a character reaches its maximum, but whose underwear do you like the most, Kodaka?
A: Personally, I'm not interested in underwear. They're dirty.
/////
Q: I know you didn't write or supervise Danganronpa S at all, Kodaka, but have you played it since its release? And if you did, were there any event conversations that you particularly liked?
A: [From @/genoskissors: "ćØć¢ć is slang meaning he knows about the games content, but has not played it himself." Thank you for the correction!]
/////
Q: [A longer question, found here, that comes down to: "i'm curious how your writing with your world evolved in ways you may not have had planed..."]
A: The scenario changes a lot when I write it. It is live. Try writing it, move the characters around, and it keeps changing. Because the characters are alive.
/////
Q: Yamada and Celes seem to have been quite close during their school days, but how did they end up like that?
A: "I've gotten better at making royal milk tea."
NOTE: This is probably Hifumi talking.
š„¬ APRIL 2024:
Q: Will you ever make a V3 animation? That could be so cool Iād love to see it so much.
A: That is a matter for Spike Chunsoft to decide.
/////
Q: Who is the character with the most friends in each of the Danganronpa games: the original, 2, and V3?
A: I guess Yamada, Koizumi, and Angie. I'm not sure if I can call Angie a friend, though.
/////
Q: Chabashira Tenko and I have the same birthday and blood type, so I'd like to know how a character's birthday and blood type are decided. I'm currently studying Japanese.
A: It's decided by fate.
/////
Q: Tired of answering questions about Danganronpa?
A: I'm not bored. I love Danganronpa. However, I may forget some things, so I don't want to answer carelessly.
šŗ MAY 2024:
Q: I think Harukawa-chan had romantic feelings for Momota-kun, but did Momota-kun see Harukawa-chan as a romantic interest? Or did he just see her as one of his "students," like Saihara-kun?
A: "I didn't realize it at the time, so I wasn't even conscious of it. If I had realized it sooner, things might have been different..."
NOTE: This is probably Kaito talking.
āļø JUNE 2024:
Q: I feel like there weren't any characters in the original Danganronpa who were definitely able to cook, so who was cooking at breakfast and the like? I'd also like to know if there were any characters who could cook in the original!
A: I think they basically just used pre-cooked food, but I think Fujisaki and Yamada seem like they can cook.
/////
Q: How did you decide the seating order for the class trial?
A: Intentionally in random order so as not to create any patterns.
/////
Q: Are there any characters in 1, 2, and V3 who are not virgins? Sorry for the really vulgar question.
A: A rough estimate is a quarter.
/////
Q: Is it decided how old the characters in works such as Danganronpa and Raincode are? If so, how old are they?
A: Of course, Danganronpa is mostly in their teens. Raincode has a wide range, but even Yakou is in his 30s.
NOTE: This is kind-of hilarious, because I'm pretty sure it's canonically stated Yakou is actually in his late 20s...in something that Kodaka himself wrote. I'll have to go find evidence.
/////
Q: I'd like to know the recommended menu items at Hanamura Diner!
A: Fresh tonkatsu.
NOTE: Tonkatsu is a fried pork cutlet.
/////
Q: Were the Love Hotel scenes also supervised by Kodaka-san? When Ouma says that he doesn't care what Saihara does to him, is that what he says to make it possible for him to have anyone in that space under his control?
A: I did supervise it. But I left that to people who are good at that sort of thing and refrained from interfering too much, and I still refrain from doing so now.
/////
Q: Is there any trick to Tanaka Gundham's chuunibyou dialogue? I'm curious to know how you think of the unique expressions used by Saionji Hiyoko and Iruma Miu.
A: The insults come out super easily, but Tanaka's lines were thought out thoroughly, based on the light novels I've read, so it's exhausting.
It's spiritual Naruto running.
š JULY 2024:
Q: I'd like to know what underwear your favorite Danganronpa character wears, Kodaka-san.
A: Monomi's panties. Diapers.
NOTE: This is how rumors get started, Kaz...
/////
Q: Do Rain Code and Danganronpa take place in the same world? Do any of your games and works have a shared universe with another? Or are they all separate? š¤ š I'm asking because I just had a dream about Rain Code today!
A: I won't make a clear statement. I am not sure what will happen in the future. Anyway, please spread the Rain Code around the world.
/////
Q: If Hope's Peak Academy had regular exams, who would have the best overall grades?
A: It would have to be Togami. Kirigiri has clear strengths and weaknesses and doesn't seem like she'd be good at things like art. However, when it comes to multiple choice questions, Komaeda who relies on luck is the strongest, Ouma steals the answers in advance, and Ki-Bo tries hard and is average, but is bad at calculations.
š AUG 2024:
Q: when i played danganronpa there were times where i wondered about how some characters got along with their family, have you written/thought anything about a character's family background that isn't mentioned in the video games?even if it's something small i feel like it would be interesting to read
A: I think, but the fact that I did not put it in writing means that I left it to the player's imagination.
/////
Q: If Sonia and Fubuki met, who would take the initiative in the conversation?
A: Even though they don't match up at all, they seem like they'd get along really well.
NOTE: Fubuki from Rain Code.
/////
Q: When all the Danganronpa characters are gathered together, who do you think has the most aura?
A: It must be Ogami. I think everyone would look at her first.
/////
Q: Thank you so much for making "Danganronpa"!! ššš Many fans have a special feeling for the relationship between Komaeda Nagito and Hinata Hajime. Is there a possibility that the two will become lovers in the future?
A: I have no plans to create anything that takes place after Danganronpa 3.
š SEPT 2024:
Q: Are there many undiscovered super-high school level talents outside of Japan?
A: You could make a Danganronpa World War. 150 students are locked in a school, about 10 incidents occur at the same time, class trials are held here and there, and punishments are handed out one after another.
/////
Q: Are you afraid of bugs, Soda? I'd like to know who among two people can stand bugs and who doesn't like them!
A: Soda is not good with insects that suddenly appear, fly, or move suddenly. Sonia is fine with insects.
/////
Q: I would like to know Ouma's first words and reaction upon seeing an armed Keebo-kun!
A: āThis isnāt like you!ā
š OCT 2024:
Q: Hello, Kodaka-san. You're probably tired of questions about the sexual orientation of characters. Komaeda in particular is one of the most talked about characters when it comes to this topic. It's actually a little sad that the fandom cares more about what gender a character is attracted to than who they actually are. This may be weird to ask after writing this much, but I want to ask out of pure curiosity: what do you think about couples in Danganronpa? I don't think any couples have ever actually been confirmed, is that intentional? There's been a lot of discussion about that topic, so I just wanted to know.
A: Like the Asahina ending in Danganronpa, there's the possibility that different people could become couples with different people. That's what makes it interesting.
/////
Q: Will the V3 characters be made into anime someday?
A: I'm not getting any offers...! I'm sure there are a fair number of people who would watch it...!
š¦ NOV 2024:
Q: I really want to see a world where Danganronpa Kirigiri is made into an anime or manga...
A: I want to see it too...!
/////
Q: Will Danganronpa 2 be made into an anime? This is something I've always wanted to see
A: I want to see it too...! I want it to be made without my involvement...!
/////
Q: A question about V3. I've heard a lot of speculation that in V3, the conclusions reached as a result of trials other than Chapter 1 are different (there is fraud on the part of the mastermind), but are there any chapters other than Chapter 1 where something different from the truth is said to be the truth?
A: It might all be a lie
NOTE: The question here might be a bit hard to understand, but it's basically asking if all of V3's culprits were actually culprits. A very peculiar answer.
/////
Q: I'd like to see a remake of the original Danganronpa with added theories and scrum debates, or a despair arc (school days)! I'd like to see it while the voice actors are still in good health.
A: That's true. But it's boring if it's just a remake. I would do it more like this...
NOTE: Don't quote me, but I believe "this" is what the question asks, i.e. he'd remake the game with added stuff.
/////
Q: Hello! What are Kuzuryu-kun and Peko-chan's best and worst subjects? I can't help but wonder!
A: Peko is good at everything. Kuzuryu is bad at a lot of things.
/////
Q: Why was the island in SDR2 named "Jabberwock Island"? I can't think of any other elements from Alice in Wonderland...
A: Yes, that's what inspired me to use the name metaphorically.
š DEC 2024:
Q: What do you eat to come up with a character like Komaeda?
A: Meat buns in Kanai Ward

Q: I think V3's punishments are similar to the original punishments, including the unused punishments, in many ways, but were you aware of that?
A: I think the second game wasn't that cruel, or rather it was mostly on the lighter side, so I wanted to make this one cruel.
/////
Q: Although they are both super high school level detectives, what is the difference between Kirigiri-san and Saihara-kun?Ā
A: Kirigiri is a better detective in terms of career, talent, and family history.Ā
/////
Q: Are there any good rappers among the characters? If so, who would it be?Ā
A: Hagakure or Kuwata or Soda or OumaĀ
/////
Q: Mr Kodaka, In response to your question on Twitter, I would like to ask. Who have you considered as candidates to be your successor for Danganronpa? Back in 2020, you mentioned Uchikoshi might be a good candidate for being the creative director for Danganronpa. Taro? Hino? Takumi? Hashino? Kamitani?
A: It's a story about young people, so young people are good.
/////
Q: Do you remember that pot of aphrodisiac soup from Despair Arc? How would other characters react if they drank it?Ā
A: I want to make that doujin game and earn money.
NOTE: A "doujin game" being a kind of fan game. Basically, he's joking that the aphrodisiac soup with other classes is kind of a fan smut idea...but he'd still do it for the money. One way to get TooKyo out of debt, I suppose...
/////
Q: How did the trick in Chapter 5 of SDR2 come about that left many players in despair?
A: Famously, after months of having the planner in charge of the project come up with many ideas, and then losing them all over the place, he suddenly came up with the idea. It was built on his despair.
NOTE: This is another weird one that's hard to translate, but I think he's referring to himself as "the planner in charge of the project," so he's saying that he went through hell trying to figure out how to kill Komaeda.
/////
Q: Are there any characters in Danganronpa who believe in Santa?Ā
A: Souda, Gonta

Gotta say, as someone who is afrolatine who mostly hangs out in anime/manga/manhwa/BL/OI spaces, there's something really weird about the way that people in fandom engage with fantasy stories that have war, slavery, and oppression as backdrops. The stories themselves usually handle the subjects poorly, but the fandom jumps through hoops to justify characters' poor behaviors without considering context of how the real world works. Naruto and Villains Are Destined to Die fandoms handle it the worst I've seen in a long time.
Naruto's story is ultimately about a seemingly unremarkable guy who tells slaves that fate isn't real despite being a Child of Prophecy who goes around minimizing everyone's oppression from the fascist government because he, too, wants to lead the militaristic state, and it hurt his feelings that his "friend" who survived a genocide didn't validate Naruto's victim complex and wanted to change the fascist system while being an imperfect victim (even though Naruto continues to lie and spread misinfo about said genocide to protect the fascist state 10+ years later).
Then theres the VADTD fandom that treats a character (Eckles) as though he has the same level of agency as the main character and other love interests. "Eckles was lying to and manipulating Penelope the whole time to get her to like him š¤¬." He's a slave. Of course he's going to lie to his master to avoid abuse or death when he's ranked even lower than a commoner in a classist hierarchy. "He betrayed her š¤¬." He's a slave. They're not friends, and there's no such thing as a 'benevolent slave master.' He cannot 'betray' his master. That's not how it works. "Penelope offered him freedom, and he turned it down." You don't 'offer' freedom to a slave. You either give it or don't. She was attempting to emotionally manipulate him. He realized this, and responded in accordance with what he knew she wanted to hear... because he's a slave who doesn't want to die. "She gifted him a magical sword and expensive fur clothes, so she favored him despite him being ungrateful š¤¬." A slave in a mink coat is still a slave. It also doesn't escape me that the male lead is the crowned prince, now a war hero, of the empire who gained his fame from his brutality against Eckles' people in the previous war that just ended maybe a few months prior to the story.
There's just something so odd about the ways in which people bend over backwards to justify imperialism and cruelty in stories just because the main characters are the ones who do it. I'm not completely sure if it's because the author's of the original works don't objectively see the undertones in what they wrote. or, maybe the fandoms are all just full of people who have victim complexes and project onto the main characters to make themselves feel better but don't see how their statements make others like me iffy of their stances on real world topics, so we avoid them, which then fuels their self-imposed victimhood even more as they whine "why won't x people in x fandom talk to me?! Or befriend me?!". Like, you just spent a whole essay justifying slavery and genocide because the main character was sad; I don't want to be your friend lol. I'm in the SnK fandom too, and despite the false statements others spread about the story, at least the fandom talks about the characters and themes with more nuance.
--
I never made it past the first few volumes of Naruto, but I do think many of these canons encourage people to judge morality based on what made the lead sad or not. The longer the canon goes on, the greater the dissonance between that message and whatever subtext is inherent to the setting.

I've seen a really dangerous misconception about what the word 'compulsions' in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder means, going around. I really want to address it.
Say, someone has intrusive thoughts about knives, due to getting vivid thoughts of cutting their tongue off or stabbing themselves in the stomach when seeing them, suddenly becoming intensely aware of how dangerous those items could be.
Misconception;
Some of you say 'compulsion' as in 'DOING the thing your thoughts are showing you'. Or, in the same vein, talk about 'intrusive thoughts winning'.
I can't stress enough how horrifyingly dangerous it is to spread this misinformation. There are people whose intrusive thoughts are about really gnarly things, and this misinfo paints them all as dangers to others. This misinfo is stigmatizing and at worst deadly, depending on how the person gets profiled based on the content of their intrusive thoughts.
Intrusive thoughts don't win. In OCD there is no such symptom that makes you "do the thing".
The whole point of intrusive thoughts is that they're unwanted visions of nightmare that torture you while you just try to have a normal day. OCD can develop from specific traumatic events like accidents, abuse, learning about deadly diseases or simply a life in a chaotic unpredictable environment. OCD is hypervigilance to potential danger, trying to identify and prevent terrible things. It's about the brain's need to be in control.
Obsessions are the 'O' in the 'OCD'. These are the "threats" the brain is misguidedly mapping out. The 'threat' can be angering people, getting abandoned, having a deadly disease, being stalked, a fear of oneself being a danger to others, superstitious beliefs about bad spirits, religion-related fears like literal fear of Hell etc. Many people's obsessions are often about their own perceivedly bad character, - over-scrutinizing oneself as a remnant of abusive or neglectful social environments.
Compulsions are the 'C', and they are basically your attempt to "prevent" the bad thing, whatever shall it be. As a kid I had intrusive thoughts about knives, and my compulsion would be hiding them from sight. I also had a constant obsession of idk literally dying from supernova radiation blast at any given time, so for entire years I never drew a single breath without meditating a prayer for that to not happen. Compulsions can be avoidance things, over-explaining yourself over the most galaxybrained shit to avoid angering people who have no idea why are you explaining this (esp. moral OCD can induce that), over-cleaning everything, superstitious rituals like touching a doorknob to prevent accidents etc.
Sure, someone can have a personal spiritual belief where diddling the doorknob prevents car accidents. The difference between an OCD compulsion and such spiritual belief is that in OCD, you genuinely feel like you're going to die if you don't do it. You genuinely feel that things will spiral out of control if you don't diddle the doorknob like five hundred times each morning. That's why, no matter how time-consuming, disruptive or inconvenient the compulsion is, the person experiencing it gets a sense of reassurance and control from it.
(The doorknob thing to prevent death is just a generic random example. The fear can be anything and the "prevention behaivior" a. k. a. compulsion can also be anything.)

Re the Israel situation: how are you doing, mentally and physically? Are you (relatively) safe?
So like here's thing.
Physically I am safe. I have yet to end up in a place without a safe room during an alarm - I also managed to be in a place that wasn't under attack during the first 24h bc I was at my parents' place; my actual apt and workplace were, however, major targets, and I've already experienced one alarm and several large booms today.
Luckily as of right now all my friends and family are alive. My brother hasn't been called into reserves yet, but I do know several people who have been, or who are in active duty and are suddenly being called into combat. Frankly, I'm terrified for all of us. I'm fully aware that there is every chance I'm going to end this thing going to funerals, multiples.
I am in the unfortunate position of literally being unable to avoid the news, as I work in a news org subtitling the live segments, which right now is... all the segments. I've already cried today at work as a young girl described her grandmother being murdered and the terrorist who killed her filming her dead body, using her own phone, and putting it on her private Facebook.
It doesn't feel real. I pulled a shift yesterday that was nearly 12 hours long, and then I got up to a siren, and then I had to head to work. I see the numbers rise - 700 Israelis dead, 400 in gaza; 2500 injured Israelis, 2300 gazans. I was closely following the story of the peace music festival down south that was purposefully targeted and the way those people were systematically slaughtered, and then I went online and saw people celebrating over 260 bodies of innocents. Some of them were tourists, bedouins, Arab citizens of Israel. Plenty are themselves activists who've been protesting for 10 months against the current government. But it's dead Jews, so I suppose that's okay.
Those 260 bodies are a so far kinda deal, by the way. They stopped counting.
It's so frustrating to see the kind of rhetoric spread online, the misinfo, the one sided claims. The frankly complete misunderstanding of what is happening here even among leftist Jews, let alone the insane amount of antisemitism and islamophobia and racism in the discourse in general.
Mentally? Mentally I am not okay. I'm losing friendships. I'm blocking dozens of people a day. I am very quickly finding out that there is nowhere safe for me to be, except right here where I am. The people around me who share my plight and are trying to survive and help others as much as they can. Mentally I've been in a hard place for a very long time, but I thought I was getting better, and I don't know what's going to happen now.
I'm alive, tho. And I'm safe.
Here's a meme my dad laughed at.

#gail speaks#ask#resplendent-ragamuffin#still about 12 hours for y'all to ask me political questions before the moratorium comes back into place

Anon w/ the Auron hc here, YES my hc is 100% derived from canon. Which is a testament to your writing if someone can have a character down-pat enough for that, I guess. Although that is what confuses me sometimes in this fandom when someone GREATLY misinterprets Auron I'm like... bro it's all in the text. How can you be so wrong? It's right there.
Here's what I've learned, as a recovering nitpicker of fandoms I'm in doing that to characters I love. One, I just avoid other people's interpretations and characterization of my own work as best I can in the wild so I'm not tempted to lose my mind, and two, I accept that not everyone will digest things the same way or WANT to.
Sometimes you like a character and want to make them your own little blorbo. That was how I started when I was younger. Sometimes it is radically different from the text. I just didn't have social media when I was doing that lmfao
And, benefit of the doubt, the narratives are admittedly not organized in a traditional way and with nearly all of the details being transmitted through audio, surely some things will fall through the cracks. Whether it's entire videos or individual lines. So sometimes it can be chalked up to accidental ignorance.
Ultimately, it's lovely and flattering when people can pick up what I'm putting down, that's very gratifying. And even if that isn't always the case, I'm still grateful for those who love my boys enough to want to be wrong about them too, if that makes sense.
Lord knows I've clung to my "wrong" interpretations of characters for the sake of my own enjoyment.
So long as people don't bring it to me expecting me to sign off on it or change my own course based off of their own desires, I've got no issue. Even then I try to not bother, though sometimes there are comments that almost seem so wrong that I have to be like "Well, you see..." just for the sake of someone not spreading misinfo to others.
Auron is pretty straightforward though. I recognized a long time ago that the audience doesn't always have patience in this medium and I'd rather speed things up for the sake of keeping an audience engaged rather than stroke my ego as a writer thinking I can do it a certain way and expect folks to wait it out when this entire premise is centered around the gratification of the listener.

Why I Do This.
This post is clearly due to another post in the tags. However, I will not be replying to or linking the post as the user in question just genuinely wants to be left alone.
However, given the popularity recently of people coming into syscoursers inboxes to dictate what is and isn't healthy, I really wanted to answer their (what I'm thinking is completely rhetorical) question.
Why do we do this?
I first entered syscourse 6 years ago as a pro-endo. I was pro-endo because I was in denial about my trauma and actively could not remember most of it. I got... incredibly fucking traumatized by that, blocked a lot out. I went full tilt the other direction in my beliefs out of traumatized protection of the self, and then eventually evened out, and now I"m pro-endo but slightly less annoying about it.
Syscourse absolutely hurt me. I'm vocal about that. And sometimes, yes, it is incredibly exhausting. (That's why I take breaks, and yes, believe it or not, I do take them!)
I've stuck around, because for the first time in my life, I could see the impact my words had on the world. I could change people's minds.
Have I made missteps? Obviously -- who hasn't? Lord knows I have said some frankly ridiculous shit. Lord knows I have screamed myself hoarse in a triggered rage. But... Frankly, when's the last time that happened? The last big Triggered State I remember from online things was sometime in September. It's now January of a new year, and I am feeling far better, despite still participating in syscourse.
Why engage in these meaningless fights? What's the point?
You're a nihilist, a pessimist, or you're just struggling right now to see the good in the world. Regardless of the reason, these aren't fights, and they aren't meaningless. Or, at least, they shouldn't be.
I'm not fighting over here. I'm flourishing and sharing with open arms and a vulnerable heart. I share my trauma and experiences online, knowing it could damage me, because I know how badly I needed to see someone with these experiences when I was first discovering my system. I discuss the ableism that affects me to further clarify ideas for those who are attempting to make the world a less ableist place, who unintentionally say ableist things. And other people tell me when I am unintentionally ableist, and I learn, and I grow.
And so many other people in these tags aren't fighting, either. @traumascumathena @sysmedsaresexist @artisticdysfunction @hiiragi7 @system-of-a-feather @greens-spilled-tea @mournfall-syscourse and more that aren't coming to the front of my mind at the moment. These people aren't trying to fight. They're trying to spread information about the topics they know and are passionate about. I've watched these people learn and grow with me, and they have helped me change.
And then there are those who are fighting for their lives, fighting just to exist online, regardless of system type. The amount of shit people need to block and brace themselves for, just to exist, just to see -- but well, I assume OP knows that, seeing as they appear to be one of those systems themselves. You cannot enter system spaces at the moment without bracing for a fight, and that isn't going to change unless we do something about it -- unless we work together to correct misinfo and collectively work on being less ableist.
It is absolutely okay to feel unsafe around those who are in the syscourse tags. There's a reason people have syscourse DNIs and try to avoid syscourse. It's absolutely fair to try and avoid it.
But keep in mind that the people that are there aren't all the horrific fakeclaiming assholes that only seek to hate. There are people who genuinely enjoy being in this space, no matter how exhausting, because they can help people. I don't distrust people who find their passions exhausting, and yet still participate in those passions.
I know it's scary. I know this world is a horrific place for us. But I want to make the world better. I want to grow and see the world grow with me.
That's why I do this.

unless that is someone you personally know i am not sure if tagging random people (rather than just mentioning their name) is a good idea, again not that you meant to do anything wrong by it just think they would probably take it the wrong way i dont want an unintended fight to break out. tbh they seem like a black betty boop artist and when it comes to most people who draw black betty boop they are completely unaware about the actual characterās race, ethnicity and origins (which is why i asked if u knew earlier because back then people who at least watched and knew the betty cartoon characters were aware of her race but over the years seems misinfo had spread out more now that once common knowledge has gotten more unknown among knew fans) overall i dont think all halloween art with betty is bad or impossible they drew her as a pumpkin for example no stereotype for that really. and at the very least they avoided giving her physical stereotypes as a witch.
since i brought up black betty boop though, while i dont see anything inherently wrong with making her black (she can still be made to be black and jewish) i do take issue with how it originates from misinformation on esther jones and how much people really wanna connect her to baby esther. esther jones is part of betty boopās history but through a slightly distanced connection as shes more like an inspiration of an inspiration type deal. my main issue when people try and connect baby esther to betty is that esther was a real life child who looked nothing like betty and her entire career was being a child performer. the way people have connected her to betty boop and how her history had been warped isnt good but thats a lot to get into. i dont see anything wrong with going what if betty boop was black or bringing up esthers importance in history but i dont like the way people have connected betty and esther together if that makes any sense. i do think its possible to make versions of betty based on esther that are more harmless and innocent it isnt impossible but unfortunately most people dont do that because they dont know about the actual history of both.
(Okay, that was probably a dick move of me do do that, but out of any other artist you choose me. I'm sorry, I redacted their username.)
So far, basically the rules of making Betty Boop fanart is...
1. Don't make fanart of Betty, Koko, or Bimbo as demons, vampires or witches because it's anti-semitic. Even if they're in costumes.
2. Don't even think about making AU were a Betty Boop character is a vampire or demon or a witch, that's anti-semitic.
3. Don't give a Betty Boop character horns or fangs, that's anti-semitic.
4. You must have a history lesson jews and bad jew stereotypes so you don't accidentally make an anti-semitic Betty Boop fanart.
5. You must read the real history of Betty Boop and what she was actually inspired by.
Also wasn't Betty Boop confirmed to be 16 years old?

I'm sure it's not much, but I just wanted to say, thank you for everything you did this year. I hope you know there are people who appreciated all the effort you put into spreading awareness and dispelling misinfo, even in spite of how things ended up. Sending you hugs since there's not much else I can offer now.
Thank you, anon. I'm not doing so hot today, so I really do appreciate you checking in. I just landed in Missouri for my grandma's funeral, so I'm probably going to keep avoiding the internet for the next few days.
At least I took time off work until the 16th!

BRO WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR DRAFTS LOL
Lol for those who didn't see on the last post:

So, basically I've been using my drafts as a really inefficient multipurpose repository for other people's posts that I don't want to lose, but don't necessarily want to like or rb right away.
For example, I try not to be that guy who only drops likes art posts on here, bc I know artists depend more on reblog traction. But I also have my own silly little catalogue tagging system that I am simply too lazy to do at times.
Solution? Save the RB as a draft so I can find it later (when I have the energy to type 5 measly words)! Thats part of why yall will sometimes see my little art blasts: 5-15 art post rbs in a row. I had a rare short bust of productivity, and curated a selection of tagged art posts in my drafts :]
Similar thing w articles. I try to make sure that I'm not doing the old "just read the incendiary headline and hit RB". Easy way to spread misinfo, or just not gain a very nuanced perspectve on a topic, yada yada.
Espescially true when I instinctively agree w the contensious political view being expressed & I am trying to avoid confirmation bias by doing additional research on counterarguements. It can be a slightly time consuming process.
So I very smartly think "I'll save this for later, when I have more time to read/fact-check it š§š¤" and much like my steam library and novel reading backlog, I proceed to not come back to it in 80% of cases.
Sometimes its also just a vibes thing w the dash. I'll see a very funny post, but it includes some dark joke about a car accident. I'll want to rb it and think "hold up.. i just saw a little vent post from a beloved mutual about them getting in to a serious fender bender this morning. Better hold off on this one for a bit"
& then in most cases i just don't go back thru to clear it out often enough š
All this among other silly reasons lol
