I somewhat proudly present the blobfam for What We Do For Family. Next up is the duck candle family I created but I’m running on negative spoons so no clue when I’ll get that art done.

Of course Blobman exists too but blobman has enough art already so time for the other blobghosts to shine. These are the blob ghosts that appear and a bit of their lore. All blobbies are about a foot tall but slight size differences exist. Those with special names Danny met before they found their bonded humans, the others were already bonded when Danny first meets them

Blobwing, bonded to Dick. Has blue wings instead of arms and uses them to the max

Blobbinhood, formerly unbonded and Danny’s favorite (and first blob Danny meets in Gotham) but bonded to Red Hood. Has a thing for harassing bigger blobs and shades to give to smaller and weaker blobs

Shadow, formerly unbonded before meeting BlackBat during her Batgirl days. Likes lurking in a corner watching people and taught Danny the signs of deception

Nifle, formerly unbonded but bonded to Spoiler after her Robin debut. Chaos incarnate and must be kept away from Blobwing bc they’re worse when together

Redblob, bonded to Red Robin during his Robin days. Perpetually eepi

Blobbin, bonded to Robin since first appearance. Very spicy but chill when left alone

Nightlight, unbonded. Supposed to be Duke’s but no Duke in this story. Danny’s guide when new to Gotham and the brightest blob in town (second blobghost he meets)

Zero, Viktor Fries’s bonded blob. A rare blob that manifested in the Far Frozen, naturally colder than a normal blob ghost and loves using their cold for good causes

to me, tim and duke occupy a similar position in the batfamily where they're clearly not (or previously weren't, in tim's case) bruce's sons but also clearly have a connection to bruce's children that separates them from barb, steph, helena, jean paul, etc. none of the latter three are dick's siblings, but tim nearly always has been, and then he's cass' too. even if he hadn't been adopted, this would be true. duke is jason's brother, and is implied to have a sibling relationship with cass and damian, and has even shown up in tim's picture of his brothers. this is not changed by the fact that duke should never be adopted.

I think it's easier to read bing an ben if you go into it with the expectation that the characters are just the most fucked up main characters to ever be. And knowing that It's way more... unhinged than the prior series. I'd call the portrayal and vibes.... an artistic choice. Definitely romanticized noncon, but it's really meant to be fucked up and it's better if you don't go into it thinking otherwise.

Babs is pretending to work at Panda Express in order to access their cameras because SOMEHOW the fucking Panda Express has the only camera in all of Wayne Enterprises that she cant access

Jason is working at the Starbucks because he’s trying to poach employees from Bruce, but doesnt want to do any actual business stuff.

Steph is working in the Waffle House because it was too on brand for her to not take the job when offered.

Duke is working at the Burger King because this is literally just his job.

Damian (and Jon stacked on top of Damian to make them seem like adults) is working in the Popeyes as Dick hopes this will make him connect with people more (it will not).

Dick is working at the Smoothie King because he honestly just got lost and this is more fun than his real job.

Cass stole uniforms from every single restaurant in the cafeteria and is pretending to work at all of them. She hasnt been reported yet because the workers dont care and no one can find the boss (rip tim)

DP x DC Prompt [No Hurt just Comfort/Crack trated seriously/Misunderstandings] No One Knows AU

Dick has just gotten married to Jazz Fenton, well now its Jazz Fenton-Grayson I suppose. The Bat clan likes her, shes sharp, and intelegent, and is just as protective, if not more so, than any bat, also shes really, really scary, but in a cool way.

There's just one itty, bitty, little problem...her brother hates them.

Danny is really important to her, while she loves her parents Jazz is particularly attached and protective of her little brother, who shes addmitted she's been worried about due to his rebellion and self isolation in the past 3 or 4 years, getting into fights, skipping school, staying out until 1 in the morning, stuff like that. In an attempt to get to know their in law, and possibly help with his rebellion, they want to get along well with Danny, but every time he sees them, he glares, and grimaces before ignoring them, or worse, when he does talk to them is eerie, and cryptic. It's weirdly similiar to Damian when he first came to the mansion, but with less stabbing, which is somehow worse!

He completely ignores Dick, and Bruce, Snubs Damian and Cass, bares his teeth at Duke, just held uncomfortable eye contact with Tim for like 45 minutes, while talking to Steph and Babs about the natural decomposition of living things, and straight up just punched Jason one time! The only one who seems to be free of Danny's Torment is Alfred, but he's also Alfred so nobody is surprised! Also, they don't know what Danny did, but Constantine, and Superman are terrified of him!

Danny really likes his in-laws. He knows he cant get too close to them, since he doesn't want them involved with his ghost nonsense, but he's glad they get along so well!

Admittedly he's a bit awestruck by Dick and Bruce, so he has a hard time talking to them. Its just, Dick is so talented with gymnastics, and he's cop, which ew, but he's a good cop so that has to count for something! Plus he's really good to Jazz! And Bruce Wayne was one of the first people to speak out against the Acts when the Justice League found out about them, and even used some of his wealth to back thr appeal! Damian is really intimidating, but animals seem to like him, so Danny thinks he's a good kid, even if Danny finds it hard to talk to him, Cass too for that matter, though he mostly just feels bad he doesn't know sign language, but he bought a book so hopefully that will help. Duke is also really cool, but with school hes not around much so Danny really only smiles and says hi occasionally, since hed hate to take up homework or studying time. Tim is really smart, and Danny likes listening to him talk, just like Steph and Barba, Danny is still surprised they were able to have such a long conversation about plants and natural compost, he thinks Sam would like them. But overall Danny really likes Jason, he's not exactly a ghost, but he's close enough, and their brawl went well, even if Jazz had stopped it prematurely. Alfred is really nice, his aura is so comforting, and Danny cant help but admire his work ethic, plus he makes good tea.

Danny also thinks it's cool that they're friends with a superhero, even if that superhero is Superman of all people, as someone with a mirrorborn also, Danny doesnt like the way Superman treated his mirrorborn, Kon, but he likes Constantine, even if he did have to remind him not to tell them Danny's a Halfa before the man could accidentally spill the beans.

Jazz and Dick(or Jason, it really doesn't matter) have just gotten married, leading to the Wayne's spending more time with their 17 year old brother in law. However, Danny seems remarkablely hateful towards them. Whenever they're around Danny just glares. They're not sure if he's figured them out, or is just upset his sister is "leaving" him, or maybe he just hates everyone? it's hard to tell with teenagers. Either way, he's creepy, and weird but they want to get along with him

Meanwhile Danny is under the impression that they all get along really well. Since becoming a halfa, Danny's perspective on people have changed, and since he spends a lot of his time in the Ghost Zone his Social Skills with humans are a bit stunted.

Well i think that way too skinny tim is part of the problems with the babyfication/infantilization of tim.

Tim is very efficient and would take care of himself almost strictly. It all started with taking the role of one of bruce's caretakers. He couldnt let himself have a sick day when Bruce could be having yet another breakdown. Also realistically with his duty as vigilante he wouldn't let himself go thin.

But in the tall tim drake au. While still going through the growth spurts he would totally go even leaner. As he is not used to eat as much as food, i think in those months Tim would do the cryptid thing just to scare the bats. After he finally stops growing he would bulk up. (Def nothing like Bruce or Jason) more like Dick's type of physique. (Smth like jacob elordi / jack champion irl).

His team would help him with the amount of food he should get. And Tim would grt tired of being treated like a little child who cant go to play if he doesnt finnish his meal.

Anyways how do you think his family would react at Tim going tall as a tower? Especially Jason & Bruce reactions.

Hi again!!! I think Tim being way too skinny and not taking care of himself can play into the infantalization. However, I also hc Tim to be the type of person that really struggles to put on weight or muscle mass. I've had some friends/loved ones who ate a fuck ton and still remained bean poles. That's kind of where I'm basing it at.

Tim struggling to put on muscle mass could also play into him not being a natural at Robin's physical skills/needs. Basically, him working really fucking hard to meet the same physical goals as Jason and/or Dick.

For the tall Tim Drake AU, I imagine he wouldn't bulk up quite as much as Dick. At the very least, he'd struggle to obtain as much muscle mass as Dick and maintain it. Jacob Elordi does seem like a good fit for Tim, though. A more lean muscular type but still muscles (Dick's got some huge fucking shoulders. Ripped as hell back).

I'm also down for his muscle mass needing to catch up with his growth spurt. Maybe it takes up to a year for his physique to fully settle after he stops growing taller?

He would be hungry *constantly* though. Poor Tim :'( He'd probably come up with some nutrition plan based on his blood sugar and shit to adequately fulfill his needs. He'll be hella annoyed, though, at all the changes and increased need for nutrients. YJ would definitely be roped into it too.

EDIT: I did not clarify enough on when specifically Tim's struggles with eating may transfer into infantalization territory.

One, nothing wrong with needing support and help with maintaining adequate self-care. I personally struggle with eating and greatly benefit from someone helping me with this.

Two, I bet all of the Bats, at some point, have needed extra support in self-care matters. Particularly, Dick, Bruce, Babs, and Jason, but I imagine the others have had their times as well.

The issues stem from either a narrative of Tim being "incapable" of caring for himself or a restriction in his autonomy. While Tim may benefit from someone reminding him to eat, preparing meals, leaving him snacks, etc., this doesn't mean his own desires should be ignored. If he doesn't want someone butting into his life to help him with that, then so be it. He's capable of making decisions for himself even if others would disagree with his decisions "for his own good."

Bruce

Constantly writes case notes on paper (which is fine) but either neglects to digitise them at all or dumps huge quantities of notes on her desk, with little or no organisation for her to sort through and digitise for him (she does not). Babs is 100% certain he only writes in a little notepad because The Grey Ghost did it.

Dick

Constantly loses/breaks his phone. He at least has the sense to comm Babs when he loses them so she can wipe them, but it's still incredibly frustrating to have to wipe Dick's brand new phone for the third time that month and then set up a new one with all the bat- bells and whistles because he forgot to zip his pockets up before doing a flip.

Jason

He still uses a flip phone entirely because he knows Babs couldn't get anything useful from it even if she could hack it. Also writes notes on paper, but they NEVER see the light of a photocopier. Insists he can just remember everything in his head.

Cass

Takes video notes, because she can express herself easier through sign language. This is one hundred percent not her fault, and Babs isn't mad at her. She's actually mad that she can't get her ASL transcription software to work flawlessly, so she has to dedicate A LOT of storage space to keeping the original videos.

Duke

Abbreviates way too many things in his notes but doesn't explain what they mean. Also uses slang Babs is painfully aware she's getting too old to keep track of and then mocks her when she doesnt know it.

i think you're right in that jason is not Coming Out to bruce for sure for sure or anyone really! I think knowledge of it kind of spreads like fungus style through them all and is partially found by Using Their Eyebarls and Looking At Her. Firm believer in jay being butch as fuck (and not like fun fancy butch like... i don't think the way she dresses changes very significantly nor is she like, suddenly using moisturizer now or growing out her hair. shes always going to look like someone who would buy teenagers beer at a gas station for 20 bucks) but she is going to change the cut of her clothes a little and repitch the vocalizer so it's more Her Pitch and not "menacing growl lower than any human being is capable of". and also hormones are gonna give her D cups. the boobs are noticeable.

dick tells babs because dick talks to babs regularly and babs is the only one of them who isnt dick who talks to jay "regularly" (meaning jay will throw babs tips about cases she doesnt want) and dick also 'tells' damian (just starts using dif pronouns and damian gets it) because it's damian. and either jay texts steph to be like Do you have bra recommendations for us poor bastards with huge tits (whenever hers grow enough to be uncomfortable w/o a bra) or steph hears babs or damian drop a she/her regarding jay. steph tells cass bc cass does her best to never interact with the red hood/jay and as such won't know until either somebody tells her or she personally interacts with jay, which happens like once a year if she can help it. Bruce observes with his eyeballs and very awkwardly goes to dick about it like ...... so. and then doesnt continue and through like 90 seconds of what amounts to verbal charades dick figures out what bruce is asking about and takes pity on him and is like "she still goes by jay" and bruce is like OK thank you. and the next question is "does she need..... help" and dick is like she will shoot you a brand new double wide three bedroom two bathroom asshole if you try to give her money about being transgender of all things she's got her own money and will get whatever she wants with it and bruce is like right OK thank you. tim finds out last and probably from going over to Dick's house when jason is there and 1) seeing that she's got tits now 2) hearing both "jay" and "she" come out of dick's mouth.

I don't think bruce has any real big reaction to it but he probably feels guilty for not like.... catching it earlier. or pushing/asking when she was a kid. like this makes sense to everybody who Knows jay this isn't a shock, and i think bruce suspected when jay was a teenager but didn't. communicate about it with her. which i don't think was the Wrong choice. but bruce does feel guilty about it just because it just wouldn't be bruce without a guilt complex LOL. if he and jay ever communicated about it there would be a whole Oh My God You Knew. Fuck it, reverse headcanon time

(Taking popular fanon and applying it to a different character out of spite. This time; Batfam)

-Jason is the batkid who knows ASL. He learnt the LOA-regional-variant back at Nanda Parbat after his voice wouldnt work post-pit, and kept using it once his voice returned because theres a lot of Deaf and mute kids in crime alley. And if the modulator in his helmet breaks and he cant take it off for any reason, he can sign. He holds classes for his goons so they learn it too.

-Babs is the coffee fiend. Her family already has addiction problem (smoking from Gordon, drinking from her father, arguably also coffee from Gordon) that runs in it, so of course she got hooked on caffeine. She actually went to college, and she has to deal with these six dumbasses over comms. She needs a heavy coffee for that.

-Signal is the sugar fiend. He finds his powers are more effective if he has a lot of sugar. His dentist is crying.

-Dick knows so many swears it once actually gave a rich guy a heart attack. He was a circus kid travelling all over the world, he knows more swears than the entirety of the batfam combined.

-Bruce listens to taylor swift. Hes a rich white man with a private jet and too many exes. He is a swiftie. He will take this secret to his grave.

-Steph is actually the favourite robin amongst the rogue gallery, except Black Mask. This resulted in Black Mask losing a scary amount of rep amongst the mob/rogue communities, because as far as they know, he killed Their robin, the villain's kid who had her One Bad Day like they did, but survived in a way they didn't. They do not know Spoiler was the girl Robin.

-Out of all the batsibs, its actually Duke (assuming hes 18+ by that point) who wins a public poll of "which Wayne heir is hottest". Dick is relieved he lost for once.

-Tim is the flirt. Dick is a flirt too, but Tim is A FLIRT, and worst of all, he forgets hes doing it half the time. Hes so used to talking in innuendos and flattery for his public image that he uses it on his teammates too. All of his team has had a crush on him before. Kon is down bad.

-Cass can, will, and has smacked someone for talking shit before. She'll do it again. Her siblings will not stop her, they are cheering her on. The minute she has enough grasp on speaking to learn verbal sassing, as opposed to body language sassing, she sasses the fuck out of them while doing so.

-Duke does drag. Jason's criminal empire he stole from Penguin has a bar he renovated into a drag bar. Duke performs there, with Bluebird and Batwoman as security in case any bigots show up.

-Damian is actually the fem one of the batboys, it just takes him a while to realise it bc Expectations and Social Pressure. Flatline, whos mostly masc, bought a bunch of dresses and skirts she keeps in her house for him to wear, before he was ready to tell anyone else. Of course, his siblings were fine with it, and Steph & Cass were thrilled to have another person to take dress shopping with them. Bruce spent the day recalculating his mental pictures of Damian's future prom photos and wedding photos. Damian is like 14 by that point, but that wont stop Bruce from finding the best dress tailor in Gotham.

-Cullen is the favourite Batkid, because he isnt a vigilante and has no intention of becoming one. Bruce is so glad at least one of his kids- even if hes not legally his- is normal.

-Steph needs glasses. She doesnt tell anyone until she gets hot-purple glittery (if that color isnt a thing, she paid Lucius to make it a thing) framed glasses and just. shows up to the manor in them. Turns out she was working virtually blind before.

-Bruce was the one who started Dick's whole pun thing, because he used to say silly catchphrases too. Rock and roll while throwing a rock wheel at someone is Dick's favourite example. He still says them in his head. (The first part is basically canon from the golden age)

-following up on that, both Bruce and Dick used to randomly start singing during fights. This is, hilariously, canon to the golden age, and i petition we bring it back. Give me Batman humming songs under his breath while on stake out. Dick training Damian to fight to a song beat.

When I feel like writing/thinking about Good Dad Bruce:

autistic as Fuck. his special interest is crime fighting.

bisexual but thought that everybody was until he started crafting personas to fit social norms and was like "Huh"

Y/n wanted to show off what they hunted with their friends, but the corpse too heavy to carry, so kid just goes to their home, walks up to their dad and tells him that they have gift for him but its outside. They grab his hand and lead him outside, he didnt expect few young yautjas poking dead xenomorph in his backyard for sure. He yells that they should stay away and he pulls put his weapon. He has so many questions all starting with "why", "how" and "when"???

After making sure that the thing is dead and his child didnt suffer any wounds he turns to other pups and starts scolding them, how dumb they are to bring a human pup on a hunt?? Dont they know how dangerous it is.

He would probably yell at them forever if not y/n stepping in and trying to explain that y/n was acually attacked and pups helped, yautjas wanted only good. He kinda didn't expect that, you? His own kid? Stepping in and protecting other people from him? He should be the one viewed as the one whos right and the one you always go for advice! So yeah he didnt take that well. Of course he tried to keep cool around those young hunters but o my god after they went away? Omg expect a lot of offended and angry dad behaviour, he gives them silent treatment for few days or is just simply passive agressive

After all y/n just wanted to feel like rest of their friends. And ironically enough the only one treating y/n like human is her own dad

So dick obv loves being ticked, tickling in general he's a big fan of, but with his brothers specifically he needs to maintain his status as tickle monster. Yes he enjoys it but no way in hell is he going to let his little brothers win. They can try and he will use it as a way to immediately turn the tables. That is a direct challenge to his title and it is his God given right to put them back in their place. It is a Herirarchy and he needs to defend his place at the top.

With Barbara Bruce and his titans friends I feel like he's much more open to letting them tickle him and not even fighting back, though in Bruce's case however it's more because he Can't. But God help him if his brothers ever find out about it because they will never let him forget it Ever. The tickle monster Dick himself rolling over and letting himself get tickled? They would tease him forever.

Besides all the obvious spots there is this place on the underside of his biceps that makes him all giggly and melty if you just gently trace. Bro goes boneless. He loves it. No he will not admit it. Keep going though.

One way Bruce likes to torment him is holding him up in the air so his feet aren't touching the ground while hes being tickled, because it makes him feel small and childish and it shuts off his higher brain function if he's flustered enough.

Every once in a while he might let one of his siblings get a decent attack in, just for fun, but he has a reputation to maintain and cant let all these baby siblings of his get too cocky/think they can take down the resident tickle monster (or, well, second resident tickle monster) too easily

Babs, though? She knows him way too well by this point, and he doesnt have anything he's gotta prove to her by now (whether in this current moment theyre just bffs, romantic partners, or exes turned friends again). She's seen him in too many compromising situations (and vise versa), and she knows way too well how to get him to crack by now -- side effect of growing up together. But he always makes sure to stay on her good side, even when tickling her, so that she doesnt let his siblings know all his weaknesses lol

The Titans? They're his best friends, of course they've had tickle fights. And while he's definitely still an absolute tickle monster to them, he's got no "oldest sibling, top of the food chain" status he has to maintain here. Sure he's their leader and he has to make sure they take him seriously -- but theyre all friends too. And friends goof off from time to time, low stakes and just for fun. Sometimes friends have big massive tickle fights, and then find out that their resident tickle monster actually has some adorable reactions and seems to like it, and, well, all these Bats are too seriously anyways -- maybe Robin (and, later, Nightwing) could use some more laughter anyway. Not like Dick's complaining, and he still gets them back plenty himself anyways lol. The Titans have way too much loyalty to ever break his secret to his siblings though, he doesnt even have to bargain with them

but Bruce? that's his dad, and he knows he cant beat the Original tickle monster (try as he might, for his own pride's sake lol). Bruce knows how to take him down even better than Barbara, and also knows just how much fun he has when it happens. He remembers the little boy always asking to play tickle monster, the pre-teen always trying to goad him into an attack, the teenager pretending to hate it but never really trying to make Bruce stop. Dick may put up a token fight/defense/attempt to flee, but he knows Bruce is going to catch him eventually, and he knows that when Bruce does, he is just gonna roll over and take it lol

AND HOLDING HIM UP IN THE AIR??? Air jail tickles go crazy sdkjfdh and the way it makes Dick feel like a little kid again 🥺 i love that thank you for the visual lol, Bruce definitely takes advantage of it all too often because HE likes to see Dick acting like his little childish son again too
