It feels weird to me just how little I give a shit about Lyler. Like at time I completely forget that they were a couple bc nothing about them is noteworthy or even interesting.

The whole joke with them is that they're himbo x bimbo and also Lindsay forgets who Tyler is a lot of the time and that's kind of it? There's really nothing more to their relationship than that and it's just really lame to me

Especially since Lindsay and Tyler are on their own really good characters, like Lindsay's runs in Island and Action are both amazing and Tyler is super funny in World Tour, it's weird that whenever these two have a scene together it's either "oh wow Lindsay forgot his name again, how silly of her" or they're just silently making eyes or wtv.

Idk man, I would say I'm ready for all the Lyler fans to attack me for this but I don't think they actually have a dedicated fan base like any other ship. People just passively ship them because they're canon and breaking them up would require them to actually get interesting, which they aren't

Big fan of characters who “kill” their younger selves. Characters who resent the past version of themselves for letting them get hurt, who look at that kid and feel revolted by the foreignness of it. Characters who feel they have to cut the child out of them like a tumor because it’s hurting them too much and if I don’t kill you you’ll kill me. Nearly nothing remaining of that past self but for the little connections and mannerisms they can’t kick, and when it shines through, it’s a terrible, tragic thing, because the child is still in there. It’s in there and it’s grotesque in its suffocation. But it’s there.

i’m sure it’s been said but avoiding sensitive topics like death and suicide makes this new tiktok self-censorship dialect feel like a fucked up version of newspeak and the people who willingly engage in it are infantilizing themselves.

Once when I was a kid my dad told me to “stop being a you-know-what”. And we’d done the whole song and dance enough times that I knew he meant “bitch”, so I told him: That’s cheating. You know what you mean, and I know what you mean- you’re just stepping around it so you can pretend you’re on the high ground. So if you’re going to call me a bitch, at least have the balls to actually say it.

And it’s been about fifteen years since then but I’m just now figuring out that that’s the same feeling I get hearing shit like “grape” and “unalive”.
