Hi everyone 💛

First off, I’m really sorry for the complete silence with posting over the past two days — and especially for not getting back to messages or asks for the past week and a half. I know many of you reached out expecting an immediate reply, and I truly appreciate your patience. While I’m not able to respond to everything just yet (there’s quite a lot to go through and I can't steal my sister's phone for hours so I could go through them all), please know I’ve seen them, I’ll be reading each one carefully, and I will get back to everyone as soon as I’m able. I didn’t mean to just disappear — things took an unexpected turn.

Last week Wednesday, I had a flare-up of my chronic pain condition during an extra shift I picked up (trying to earn a bit more ahead of an upcoming vacation). Unfortunately, instead of finishing the shift, I ended up being admitted to the hospital. Because my condition carries a higher risk of stroke, the doctors decided to monitor me closely.

Right now, I’m stable and doing okay — just deeply fatigued, which they’re still keeping an eye on. The exhaustion has been stubborn, and an MRI revealed some abnormalities that might suggest an increased stroke risk. I’ve been started on preventive medication, and so far, things are looking cautiously optimistic. If all continues to improve, I’m hopeful that I’ll be discharged sometime next week.

For a bit of background: I had a minor stroke about seven years ago. Thankfully, it didn’t cause major damage, but it did leave a few lingering effects — like reduced strength in the toes of my left foot. Given that history, my care team is being extra cautious this time, and honestly, I’m so grateful for that.

To make matters even more chaotic: Tumblr decided to have one of those weeks. I had a queue scheduled through September, but due to a recurring glitch I’ve dealt with before, absolutely nothing has posted. So if my blog’s been unusually quiet lately, that’s why — I promise I haven’t ghosted anyone! I’ve just been dealing with a hospital stay and a tech failure. I’ll be reaching out to Tumblr Support about it once I’m home and back on my feet.

And here’s where I give the biggest shoutout to my amazing sister, Nyla 💛 She saw my blog stopped posting (she follows me here — sharp-eyed as ever), and came to the rescue by lending me her phone so I could finally check in. My own phone is basically an ancient fossil — it can barely handle texts, let alone Tumblr. So seriously, please send all your love to Nyla — she’s been an absolute hero this week.

There is a bit of unexpected good news in all this: my boss — who truly deserves a medal and unlimited coffee — told me I won’t need to make up the hours I’ve missed during my hospital stay. Normally, that would mean postponing my vacation or picking up extra shifts later. But since I’d already been working additional hours and have a solid track record, he’s covering for me and paying my full salary. Which means: vacation technically started early! Not exactly the kickoff I had in mind, but hey — silver linings.

I’m really hoping to be home and back to my usual rhythm next week. I’ve missed being here so much — sharing stories, talking with you all, just being part of this space. Your support, kindness, and patience mean more than I can put into words.

In the meantime: please take care of yourselves, drink some water, check in on your friends, and don’t forget to send a little extra love to Nyla for being the MVP of the week 💛

What fandoms do you write in?

Good Omens. Although I have some Good Omens crossovers with other fandoms. One of my works was a multiverse one-shot with characters from GO, Doctor Who, OFMD, Buffy and Batman.

How many words have you published in 2024?

According to AO3 (which I just learned does statistics by year? lol) I published 435,127 words.

What is your greatest achievement this year?

Well...

I could either talk about fics or podfics here. But if I'm going with fic I'll talk about how far I've come with The Season of Nightingales, my main longfic, which has only two chapters to go.

But I've made some major strides with voice acting and making podfics for some of the wonderful folks in the Good Omens fandom, and I think that's more of an "achievement" than simply something I'm proud of, like progressing my longfic :) I'm especially proud of finishing both my Factory Settings Podfic and Someone is Calling Him Shorewards earlier this year.

The Season of Nightingales (Good Omens Post S2 Plot-with-Fluff Fix-it, currently at 168k with two weekly chapter updates to wrap it up)

Unhallowed Providence (Reverse Omens Gothic AU based on @theonevoice's GORGEOUS demon Aziraphale and angel Crowley art—I've published one chapter and have the story pretty well plotted for the rest, just need to finish Season of Nightingales first!)

What was your biggest pit of despair moment?

There was no one moment... not related to writing or Podficcing. Just the slow and steady realization that I was booking myself for too much stuff and in no way have time to keep up with it all lol.

What have you learned?

....I have a really bad case of FOMO.

What fic did you want to do but never made it off the ground?

I have a little side fic started about Crowley saving the runaway unicorn, and a Coney Island (excuse the period typical term "freakshow") human AU that I have a plot for and no time to write, especially not now that I've signed up for two wonderful artist collabs that are going to be my priority once I finish Nightingales.

Did you beta any fics? Any favs you want to shout out?

Yes! I've beta'd for @dbacklot99, @wingsofopal, and more short one-off projects for various GOAD Writers Guild writers than I could remember at gunpoint lol.

If I have to pick three, I'll name the longfics, because there's no possible way I could choose between them and all the incredible one shots and short series that I've read this year. I would recommend anything that I've podficced (which is the vast majority of my AO3 Profile right now) but I'll shout out these three longies in particular:

Ok by all means the movie "Eden" doesn't seem to be supported by a lot of PR, neither is it met with a lot of public anticipation despite starring both Jude Law and Daniel Brühl, but I've my five cents about it.

For one, the trailer looks badly cut. Second, for being set in the Gallapagos island area, Hollywood slapped their default Middle Americas-piss-yellow-filter over the gorgeous scenery. Third, this movie is failing from the get go. The real life story this is based on isn't a tragedy but autoirony of Germans germaning out in the most German way to ever German.

Alright, anyone remotely familiar with the immigration history of the Americas knows how Germans projecting their fantasy of "living with untouched nature" and spreading their territory-claim towels before anyone can end the count on three is a very German thing.

Except, emmmigrant Germans complaining how suffocated they feel in Germany act, ironically, in the most German ways possible.

The casting decided to cast almost entirely blonde people because they were Germans, except for Spanish-German actor Daniel Brühl...

So, the first emmigrant to Floreana island was Dr. Ritter who was into anthroposophy/reformhaus stuff. So he brought along his lover (whereas he was still legally married) who had MS. But Ritter claimed the good air and contact in nature would be cure enough.

As you can imagine, his lover, Dore Strauch, with MS in a previously uninhabited island, was doing all the actual sustanance work whereas he was writing a newletter for German papers how perfect and idyllic his "Eden" was.

Queue the Wittmer family who also believed their chronically ill son would be curec by contact with nature after reading Ritters newsletters.

Ok, this is something audiences who haven't been to Germany before wouldn't know but Ritter and Strauch were both from Berlin, the Wittmer family was from Cologne. Meaning, these are massive clashes of temperament. The gruff, Prussian-minded Berlin couple vs. the Rhineland jovial nature who mastered the art of understating bad situations.

Interviews of Margarete Wittmer still exist on the web, where she speaks pure Colonia Plaat mixed with Spanish terms in brutally German pronounciation. It's a shame they all speak English in the movie because Daniel Brühl would nail the linguistic hillarity.

The family also brought along their German Shepheard named Lumpi.

What then ensues is so funny: I mean yeah, sure living on a previously uninhabited island wasn't a stroll in the park, the families lived one hour by foot apart and still they managed to have very German neighbourhood disputes of envying the other's garden, their house, their ordering system etc. No I'm not joking these were they biggest gripes with each other.

Oh by the way, Margaret Wittmer gave birth to two childrne on this island, kinda disenchanting the idea of "natural birth". I desperately want to see the regular Hollywood scene in which Sydney Sweeney justpressed out a baby out of her body, craddling it with tears in her eyes but a smile on her lips, cooing it's name: "Rolf...", most adoring expression in her eyes.

By the way the second daughter was called Ingeborg Floreana. On the other hand a Guatemalan friend said that he was in awe of the name Ortrud, and uh many Ingrids were born in 80s Argentina, so I guess this sort of hysterical naming convention joke is lost in LatAm.

So, anyway the third party to the island was a scammer Dominatrix and her two lovers.

So a lot of property issues ensue, and how did everyone solve these quarrels? As good Germans theywroter strongly worded letters, and filed complaints to the Ecuadorian government.

Who on earth fought the fights and struggles of Floreana was a drama when this is just your regular German neighbourhood dispute in a tropical setting.

As crowds gather outside to gawp up at the freshly carved tracery and gleaming leadwork, however, they might not be aware that the most radical part of the entire project is actually right beneath their feet. The biggest impact on Paris will not be found in the rebuilt forêt of oak hidden away in the attic, or the ornamental rooftop cresting, but in how the fire has provided a catalyst to rethink the surrounding area as a model for climate-friendly public space on an increasingly scorching planet.

“The project of the cathedral was to rebuild it identically,” says Patrick Bloche, first deputy mayor of Paris, as he stands outside Notre Dame’s freshly scrubbed facade, puffing on his pipe. “On the other hand, outside the building, we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to completely reimagine what the surroundings could be.”

In the days following the fire, there was much enthusiasm among a certain cast of architects about what form a new-look Notre Dame might take. Norman Foster imagined crowning the charred nave with a vaulted glass roof and a spire topped with an observation deck – “a work of art about light,” he declared, which would “capture the confident spirit of the time”. Others proposed glitzy roofs made of Baccarat crystal, or a memorial spire in the shape of a gigantic golden flame. Thankfully, such hubris was ditched for a faithful reconstruction, but the fragmented and congested surroundings offered scope for a bolder approach.

“The area around Notre Dame has changed so much throughout history,” says Bas Smets, the Belgian landscape architect who won an open competition to redesign the area around the cathedral in 2022. “It’s like a privileged witness of a city looking for its form. The question now is what kind of spaces we need for the city of tomorrow.”

On Friday 29 November, Smets was first in line to explain his vision to Macron, on the president’s first visit to inspect the reborn Notre Dame, before its official inauguration tomorrow. They stood on the first completed piece of the “petit parvis”, the forecourt in front of the cathedral, which Smets plans to expand to mirror the full length and width of the building, with grooved limestone flags reflecting the chequerboard marble floor inside.

His plan – to be completed by 2027 at a cost of €50m, funded by the city – will create a much more open setting for the cathedral, encouraging visitors to explore more of the Île de la Cité at a slower pace, beyond just queueing up for a peek inside Notre Dame before hot-footing it to the Eiffel Tower. The new spaces will prioritise people over vehicles, seeing roads closed and pedestrianised, and reconnect the cathedral to the Seine for the first time in generations, with a new 400 metre-long riverside promenade. Plenty of shade will be provided by 160 new drought-tolerant trees, which will also help to shield queueing visitors from winter winds, while the hottest days will be relieved by an ingenious air-cooling water feature – with a splash of fun.

“We were inspired by seeing how they clean the streets of Paris,” says Smets, whose team includes the French urban planning agency GRAU and heritage specialists Neufville-Gayet. The city is unusual in having a dual water network, one for drinking water and another for untreated non-potable water, for irrigation, cleaning and firefighting – a 19th-century legacy of Baron Haussmann’s urban improvements. On hot summer days, the street-cleaning vans often leave this water running to cool down the roads and pavements. Learning from the locals, Smets has designed an 80 metre-long stretch of the plaza to be flooded with a thin 5mm-deep sheet of water on the hottest days, forming a reflecting pool that also provides evaporative cooling, lowering the air temperature by several degrees. Like the fountains of Kings Cross in London, it promises to be a popular place for a cooling splash – with enough space before the cathedral entrance, church wardens will be relieved to hear, for damp feet to dry off.

Given the expected 15 million visitors a year, one of the designers’ chief tasks was to improve crowd control, which Smets has partly addressed with a new entrance – dramatically punching new openings in the quay retaining wall facing the Seine. Enabling people to arrive by boat, this entrance will connect to a new visitor centre housed in a former 1960s underground car park, and provide a theatrical route up to the plaza, giving a worm’s-eye view of Notre Dame’s famous western facade for the first time.

Not all Parisians have welcomed these bold changes. An angry petition launched in April 2023, titled “Save Notre Dame gardens!”, gained more than 55,000 signatures, with concerns focused on the removal of fences around areas of lawn, as well as the removal of benches and flowerbeds, “completely distorting the spirit of the place”. Others opined that the scheme was “too British” in its plan to surround the cathedral with open gardens. Smets insists that some of the criticism was down to a misinterpretation of the plans – the historic benches, for example, will all remain – but the design has been altered to retain more of the fencing, only removing a section to open up the riverside path. “It became a political thing,” he says. “In the competition, we were asked to take out the fences, so we did. But keeping the fence, for me, is totally fine. We’re actually returning the situation to how it was in 1848, with a fence around the gardens, but not blocking access to the Seine.”

With an eye on Paris’s wider urban greening efforts, which have been a chief hallmark of socialist mayor Anne Hidalgo’s tenure, the project will also act as a laboratory for future landscaping work elsewhere in the city. While the main plaza will see an existing avenue of horse chestnut trees extended along the street, encouraging people to take a full circuit around the cathedral, a former car parking area to the east will become an experimental arboretum of different species.

“We imagine it as a living climatic laboratory,” says Smets, “to see how well different trees perform over time.” After the city’s plane trees suffered from beetle infestations, and others have been stricken by drought, the pressure is on to determine which varieties will thrive in the rapidly changing climate. “This is such an important, symbolic site,” he adds. “But it is also an opportunity to reimagine public space as a way to create a better outdoor microclimate – looking to the past to inform the city of the future.”

You weren't the biggest fan of flying. The thought of being trapped in a tin can breathing in the same air as 100 other people freaked you out so before the flight, to help calm your nerves, you'd taken a sleeping tablet recommended by a trusted friend.

You were travelling with your colleague, friend and crush, Indiana Jones. The two of you were professors at the same college and had grown really close over the last year or so. Indy frequently went on archaeological digs and you'd always shown an interest since you were a history professor so this time, he invited you to come along with him.

Excitement wasn't the word.

You were beyond excited, constantly pestering Indy about what to wear, what clothes to take, what sites you'll wind up visiting. Surprisingly, Indy wasn't too annoyed and actually found your excitement about the whole thing quite adorable though he'd never admit that to your face. You and Indy currently had a very flirty, will they-won't they vibe going on. Any time that you thought things would happen, Indy pulled away. He had confided in you previously after one too many whiskeys that he was scared of commitment so you took a bit of a step back from the romantic side of things until he was ready. It hurt but you'd survive seeing as you two were friends and you knew that he cared, it was just that he wasn't ready yet.

You tapped your foot anxiously as you waited for the plane to board. Indy frowned at you, "That pill not kicking in yet, huh?"

"I only just took it, it takes a while to work."

"Why are you so anxious then? What's with all the foot tapping?"

"It's stupid," you scoffed as you shook your head. Indiana frowned at you and gestured for you to spit it out, "I'm stressed about the seat, well the seatbelt."

"What about it?"

"What if it doesn't fit around me? I'm not the skinniest..." Your cheeks burned furiously and Indy sighed. A voice chimed from above saying that your flight was now boarding, "Oh great."

"Then you get an extension." Indy shrugged. One thing you did love about him was his blunt, matter of fact attitude to things. He didn't stress, he didn't' sugar-coat, he just said things how they happened, "No big deal."

You followed him as he stood up in the queue, appreciating his blunt response, "It's silly, I know... I just get so paranoid. Normal seatbelts are black and usually extensions are bright red and it's just broadcasting 'hey everyone look at me I'm so fat I don't fit in the seat'!" You faltered, realising you were word vomiting all over him, "Sorry, I-"

He shook his head, "It's okay," he murmured, voice quieter so no one else your conversation, "I understand. Whether you need the extension or not, it's not a big deal. Doesn't make you any less of a person. Doesn't make you any less beautiful. Matter of fact, you're the prettiest damn person I've ever seen." As he finished, he realised what he had said and cleared his throat, turning away as a pink hue crept up and over his cheeks and ears.

You smiled, ducking your head to hide your bashfulness from him.

Boarding was quick and simple and soon, you and Indy were looking for your seats, "22, 23, here we are, 24. You want the window seat?" He asked which you gladly accepted since you didn't want to sit in the middle next to a stranger. You didn't mind looking out of the window, you found comfort in the clouds even despite your hatred of flying.

As Indy stored your bags in the overhead compartments, you sat on your seat, already finding it uncomfortable. Big hips weren't a great match for a tight plane seat. Oh well. Five hours, you could do this. You took a breath as you tested the seatbelt and...

"Nope."

It was a good 7 inches from closing. You raised your head, cheeks heating up from shame. It was stupid. You didn't know why you were so mortified to need a seatbelt extension on the plane but you just were. You liked your body, you were fat, curvy, plus size whatever you wanted to call it and you didn't mind it anymore but sometimes insecurities snuck up on you, this was one of those moments. You didn't need to look far for assistance because Indy was already handing you a bright red extension for the seatbelt.

"I asked for you. I also asked for a different colour but this is all they have."

You smiled, taking it off of him, "Thank you," you said, clipping it in and securing yourself in your seat. He sat down, "I know it's silly, I don't know why I'm so bothered by it."

Indy looked at you and smiled, "Don't worry about it. Seriously. People are too self absorbed to care whether or not you've got an extension... besides, I think red's your colour."

God, you hated the way he could make your insides turn to gloop and the way he could make your heart race with a simple smile. You thanked him quietly and conversation died down as he settled into his chair.

After around fifteen minutes, when everyone was boarded and the plane had began to move, you were starting to feel the effects of the sleeping pill you took so you tried to find a comfortable position to sleep in. You tried resting your head against the wall of the plane but the vibrations were uncomfortable and irritating. You tried resting your head back on the head rest but as you started to doze off, your head kept falling and you kept waking up. Your failure to fall asleep, or at least find a comfortable position, hadn't gone unnoticed by Indiana who was watching you from the corner of his eye with an amused expression.

"Oh just put your head on my shoulder and go to sleep, stop huffing and puffing," he said with a smirk. You rolled your eyes at him, not realising that he was being serious until he pulled at you to rest on him, "Put your head on my shoulder and go to sleep. I'll wake you up when we're there. Go on, get comfy."

Your heart was racing, pounding hard against your ribs as you settled on his shoulder. You could smell him; coffee, fresh linen and musk. Heaven. His shoulder was surprisingly comfortable, hard yet cushioned by his blazer and shirt. As you settled, your head found its way to rest near the crook of his neck, hand cupping his bicep. You were falling asleep fast but his muscles beneath your fingertips didn't go unnoticed by you.

Your breathing slowed as it tickled his neck and he knew you were sleeping. He swallowed, sparing a glance to you sound asleep on his shoulder, and tried to calm his own racing heartbeat. The way your breath warmed his neck, the way your fingers pressed into his muscle... Indy took a deep breath. He could smell your perfume - sweet and intoxicating - and it took everything in him to not wake you up and kiss you here.

With his spare hand he moved his hat to cover his eyes as his head rested back against the headrest (and then eventually opted to rest on yours) and tried to forget about the way his stomach flipped at the thought of you touching him. Indy had started the day thinking he still wasn't ready but this... this might change things. You were his favourite person. You had been the most constant person in his life for a year solid and that meant a lot to him. He valued you so highly and was scared that if he let you in, you'd end up getting hurt or worse but... he didn't know how long he could push you away for.

"I..." he whispered so softly that even if you were awake you probably wouldn't have heard him over the sound of the airplane and its passengers, "I think I'm in love with you." Maybe he was more ready than he thought.

I haven’t been keeping up with current dc comics, what’s happened with Kon? I keep seeing people talk about it but it’s all vague

Basically, Kon had a really fun and overall good mini called Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow which ended this week. This book ended with Kon in a good place and having really seemed to find his place in the world again after the rough last several years (since getting reintroduced in YJ 2019 into a world that didn't remember him) he's had. That book ended technically last week via digital release, but this week in terms of the physical release.

But then... also this week... we found out via a Bleeding Cool article on Sunday that there was going to be a backup story featuring Kon in Action Comics this week which... suddenly made Kon/M'gann—a ship that originated in the Young Justice cartoon which has literally nothing to do with main continuity comics, a ship between two characters who have barely if ever spoken a fucking word to one another in actual main continuity—be dating. With absolutely no build up.

Queue people being concerned/stressed/angry/etc etc. And now today the issue dropped. And well it's just as bad as it seemed like it was going to be.

It basically just... manages to mention Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow while also regressing Kon back as if the development he had in that book hadn't happened at all, have Kon be ridiculously rude to Ma Kent out of nowhere in a way he never has been before (like... even the at-many-times bratty Superboy '94 era Kon wasn't like that towards her! it is seriously out of nowhere i am utterly fucking baffled), stick him back in fucking high school again (as if YJ 2019 hadn't... had him explicitly on page decide he was done with that and done with just trying to be a carbon copy of Clark BEFORE he even got sent to Gemworld!), and just have a poor grasp on his current history/his personality/his voice as a character imo.

I have seen several people point out that the writer of this backup story doesn't actually have anything else with Kon currently slated so it's very possible that other books may not really be paying all that much mind/attention to this story/the characterization/choices in it, and so while it's frustrating that it exists it could in the end not have the biggest impact on things in the long term, but it's still just... wow. It feels like such a slap in the face after Superboy: Man of Tomorrow, I can tell ya that.

And like... one thing I do want to note, is that in the comments the writer has made about this story on twitter, she's made it clear part of what she was going for here is trying to approach who Kon could be outside of/after Superboy... but I simply do not think undoing the character work that was literally just done with him is the right way to approach that. I think from where things left off in Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow one could easily have started to ask those sorts of questions and approach that subject without backtracking and random retcons and OOC behavior which all make it really frustrating to read for longtime fans of the character.

BTS’s Jin comforts fans after fan concert tickets sell out in minutes [Allkpop]

BTS member Jin is showing his signature warmth and love for fans after many were unable to secure tickets for his first solo fan concert.

On April 29th KST, Jin interacted with fans on the fan community platform Weverse, leaving comments under posts about the ticketing experience. That day marked the general ticket sale for the Korean leg of his fan concert tour. Despite a 99% reservation rate, the queue surged to 84,260 individual users—with no duplicate logins. Jin’s first solo fan concert '#/RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR' will kick off on June 28th–29th at Goyang Sports Complex Auxiliary Stadium in Goyang, Korea, before heading to cities around the world.

Responding to a screenshot of the enormous online queue posted by a fan, Jin humbly wrote, “Wow, I didn’t realize Seokjinie was this popular.” Despite being a global superstar, Jin’s modesty and sincerity shone through.

When a fan wished the concert had been held at a bigger venue, Jin explained, “Honestly, I planned this on a whim, so there weren’t any venues available… I barely managed to book this one. It’s my fault for not planning ahead.” His comment revealed how the event came together in response to strong fan demand, highlighting his deep affection for fans.

To another fan lamenting, “Sigh… all I see is gray… no purple seats left,” Jin replied, “This was the biggest venue I could find among the options…”

When one fan posted, “Please do an en-concert next time! Audiodrama Sunday 06/23/24

I’m going to be busy over the weekend, so I’m writing this on Friday to queue up for Sunday. Because of that, and because a ton of new stuff came out this week, I didn’t get a chance to listen to everything that came out. Anything I missed I’ll talk about next week.

New @midnightburgr ! When I see the hour and a half runtime I know it’s going to be good. I love the actual science they mix into this show. Just like the last Welcome to the Horizon, they ended an episode right before a conversation where someone explains that they’re from space to someone normal. I want to hear these conversations!

@worldsbeyondpod this week was entirely wtf moments. Suvi made the biggest power move with the blood on her face, then rolled an 8, it was so sad. Then after that Suvi pulled in the geas, which was crazy. And then she asked about Yoren! Aabria popped off so hard this episode, this is why Aabria is one of my favorite actual play people. And then the ending what the hell. I really did not see Ursulon’s meeting going that way. After the last episode I was thinking that Grimoire’s retinue was the biggest threat.

@worldgonewrongpod the ghost personhood talk was really interesting. Now I want a show totally focused on exploring that concept. Ghost Lawyers spinoff when? I initially agreed with Jamie but Malik convinced me. Also, I looked it up and the New York ghost law is real. I love the real weird history this show references.

This season of Lost Terminal has a theme of communication which I think is really cool. I didn’t realize just how many AI characters this show had until now. And Oni is still a threat apparently, I had figured that they were around but not hostile.

I think that’s it actually. I’ll have more than usual next week. I’m going on another road trip, maybe I’ll finally start InCo.

So I believe this question is about the Moto3 championship decider from Qatar last year (correct me later if I’m wrong). To look at this we have three main people: Leopard’s Jaume Masia and teammate Adrian Fernandez, and Husqvarna’s Ayumu Sasaki.

Now there is a little bit of context needed for this regarding Adrian Fernandez: Fernandez raced for the Husqvarna team in 2021 and it did not go well. In short, the Fernandez’s are allegedly quite difficult to work with and behind the scenes was not very good.

I believe this led to this incident in Aragon the following year, where two Husqvarna mechanics got in the way of Fernandez and (intentionally or not I don’t know) touched his front brake. This was to stop him from following Sasaki out onto the race track.

Max Biaggi (who ran the team) sacked the two mechanics involved and apologised, but the damage was already done.

And now, the Qatar incident….

Jaume Masia and Ayumu Sasaki had been in Moto3 for a very long time compared to a lot of their peers and wanted the title, and had been fighting for it all season. Sasaki went to Qatar knowing that he had to beat Masia to more or less stay in the championship fight into Valencia.

What happened was Masia and Sasaki got involved in a scrap on track for (I believe) the lead of the race. Masia tried to overtake Sasaki and basically ran him wide, not clearly but definitely intentional on his part. I think this happened twice when they were fighting for position, both times Masia came out ahead and both times he ran Sasaki wide.

Then, with 3 laps of the race to go, Moto3 was Moto3ing with its group race and a bunch of riders pass Sasaki to push him down to fifth while Masia leads the race. Queue Adrian Fernandez.

Fernandez more or less pulls the exact same move his teammate did on Sasaki to demote him further down, and made it impossible for him to win the race. Therefore, Sasaki finished ninth or somewhere similar, and Masia was crowned champion.

Now I was in the controversial position on here at the time where I did not think either Masia or Fernandez had done anything wrong. To a certain degree, I still think it was racing but it was clear they pulled those moves knowing who they were racing. Masia did get a conduct warning but I honestly don’t think he cared that much.

Looking back, yeah I think maybe Adrian’s passes were over the limit because while he has personal history with the team, he did not need to pull those kinds of moves to help the team out, but it is what it is.

Also on reflection I’m not the biggest fan of Masia’s reaction to how he won the title but equally, he just became a world champion and I’m sure he just did not care how it came about. It’s similar to the DTM final from 2021(???) because the way I see it is simply: unsporting but not unfair.

I know others will have different opinions but hopefully that was a good enough round up of the drama, there’s a lot of stuff that Leopard have done but that was just the cherry on top of the cake.

So when They said "countless worlds" in Frontiers, I seriously think They just meant planets. I expanded it to mean universes in this ask on a whim to have an edge over Solaris and have stuck with it since. As far as I know, the game makes no indication that The End exists anywhere past Game Canon/GameVerse/SegaSonicVerse/whatever the term is these days, I've lost track.
