SEKAI Bingo 7 (@sekaitransparents' 1 Year Anniversary Event): silly/funny OR flower meanings.
Chose flower meanings. Reasons for each one under the cut. The PSDs were made to match the flag, which were made based on colors of the flowers (because the original flags repeated the same color palettes and just put the flower on top).
Flags: Bluebellian (Ichika), zinnian (Saki), cireraean (Honami), irisian (Shiho), dandelinian (Minori), dahliaic (Haruka), daffodilian (Airi), lotusean (Shizuku), magnolic (Kohane), chrysanthean (An), sunfleurian (Akito), daisyan (Toya), peonian (Tsukasa), poppyic (Emu), hibiscian (Nene), lavendrian (Rui), hyacinthian (Kanade), pansyean (Mafuyu), marigoldian (Ena), and roseian (Mizuki)
Flower choices (usually when I say "and more," it means there's a negative connotation or one that isn't applicable):
Ichika: Bluebell, meaning loyalty, constancy, humility, and gratitude. Seems self-explanatory.
Saki: Zinnia, meaning thinking of you, remembering absent friends, and sentimentality. Considering Saki's return is what brought Leo/need back together, I thought it fit.
Honami: Cherry blossom, meaning (in Japanese flower language) transience of life, gentleness, and kindness. Seems self-explanatory.
Shiho: Iris, meaning (in general) eloquence, good news, light, faith, valor, wisdom, friendship, and a message. Shiho has (as of 20 November 2024) had two focus events featuring faith in the title, and Leo/need in general is about friendship. Also, White Day knight Shiho card (the 3* from the first set) gives me the valor vibes.
Minori: Dandelion, meaning overcoming hardship, faithfulness, happiness, and more. Minori is basically the poster child for overcoming hardship, given her struggles to become an idol.
Haruka: Dahlia, meaning elegance and dignity, among other things. Seems self-explanatory.
Airi: Daffodil, meaning regard, respect, self-love, and more. A bit more of a stretch, but the respect stood out to me.
Shizuku: Lotus, meaning purity, chastity and elegance, and more. Seems self-explanatory.
Kohane: Magnolia, meaning perseverance, love of nature, and nobility. Following Light Up the Fire, it was a Kohane event that showed Vivid BAD SQUAD persevering in their goal to surpass RAD WEEKEND. And then it was a Kohane event where they did that.
An: Chrysanthemum, meaning (in general) fidelity, optimism, joy and long life, "you're a wonderful friend," rest, and cheerfulness. I saw this and immediately thought Anhane (platonic but could be romantic too). I know she has a sunflower association already, but I used that for...
Akito: Sunflower, meaning adoration, pride, and more. Immediate Akito vibes from this.
Toya: Daisy, meaning (in general) loyal love, gentleness, innocence, purity, fidelity, patient endurance, and more. Tell me this isn't Toya, especially towards VBS and the Tenmas.
Tsukasa: Peony, meaning (in Japanese flower language) masculinity and bravery. I think it fits the new card, okay?
Emu: Poppy, meaning sleep, imagination, fantastic extravagance, and more. Ignoring all the negative connotations that were there, I got wonderhoy vibes.
Nene: Hibiscus, meaning delicate beauty. Nene was hard to come up with one for, so I went with something a bit generic.
Rui: Lavender, meaning love, devotion, and loyalty, among others. Leo/need can't be the only one getting loyalty meanings, alright? He's loyal to WxS and is deeply devoted to them.
Kanade: Hyacinth, meaning (for blue and purple) constancy, grief and sorrow, and, "Please forgive me." Seems self-explanatory given her father.
Mafuyu: Pansy, meaning thoughtfulness, merriment, remembrance, you occupy my thoughts, and, "Think of me." Mafuyu was another difficult one to come up with for, but I do think Kanade (and the rest of Niigo) occupies Mafuyu's thoughts, and Mafuyu can be thoughtful.
Ena: Marigold, meaning pain and grief, jealousy, and more. I know Ena has an association with daffodils, but this screamed Ena between her issues with art, her jealousy towards Mafuyu, and more recently with Where Does the Path of Thorns Go?
Mizuki: Rose, meaning (in general) love, silence, privacy, and conversations held in confidence. I mean... Where Does the Path of Thorns Go? Enough said, I think.

assigning obey me characters plants to get out of my writing slump. we start with the brothers.
lucifer -> lucifer my love. i assign him two plants. first is the forget-me-nots, which symbolize remembrance and love (familial). he loved his sister and his brother deeply, so much he went to war, and then swore loyalty to diavolo so she could be reborn. he also couldn't live without his brothers and asked them to come with him when leaving celestial. the other is the purple hyacinth, which means sorrow and mourning. lucifer held his sister as she died, he was the one to watch he die and then be reborn. he had to say goodbye. he mourned and felt immense sorrow, including when he had to lock away his little brother to protect him.
mammon -> for mammon i assign him bluebells, meaning constancy. while he is the sin of greed, he followed lucifer because he was loyal to him. when micharl handed him off, it was lucifer who seen him as his brother. bluebells symbolize constancy, and i believe this is most fitting for mammon regardless of what the fandom or others think of him. he is incredibly loyal.
leviathan -> for leviathan, i assign him grief. it means a lot of things, one of them being jealousy. however, despite his sin, this isn't why i assigned him marigolds, because they also mean grief. grief comes in many forms, leviathan grieves a lot, from the death of his sister to the life he no longer has, and the new life he has as a shut in. he grieves.
satan -> for satan i assign him the butterfly weed which symbolizes independence. satan is made from the wrath of lucifer, he wants to be separate from that. to not be known for his creation and his sin, so he has thrown himself into books and studying.
asmodeus -> asmo <3. i assign him rosemary, for remembrance, he remembers many things from his life in the celestial realm, and lilith, and while he remains positive, it is obvious he does grieve. i also assign him morning glory, for its meaning of love and affection (familial/platonic). he started painting his brothers nails because he wanted them to feel like their old selves again. he cares for his brothers a lot and does his best to remain a positive individual.
beelzebub -> i assign him (and his twin) forget-me-nots as well, but mostly for its meaning of "i will never forget you". they were closest to lilith and they mourned deeply. there is a belief with forget-me-nots that if you plant them on the grave of a loved one they will bloom as long as you are alive, so i think it's fitting for them. i also assign him willow for its meaning of grief. grief comes in many forms, and for beel he latched onto his twin brother, who he deeply cares for and relies heavily on.
belphegor -> i hate him but alas, as stated above i assign him and beel forget-me-nots. i also assign him the black dahlia, which means hate, betrayal and death. he hated lucifer for locking him away and felt betrayed, he didn't think that lucifer was locking him away to protect, but rather because he was more loyal to diavolo than belphegor and his brothers. and death, because, well, lilith.
okay um. yeah. if there's any mistakes then sorry.

Bendy's favorite flowers
found this post (https://www.tumblr.com/theinkymystery/656186531805118464/this-is-a-relatively-weird-question-to-ask-but#notes) and got curious so I decided to look into what Bendy's favorite flowers mean
Bluebells
represent humility, gratitude, everlasting love, and constancy
associated with dark fairies
apparently also associated with kindness but I only found that in one place so take it with a grain of salt
found in ancient woodlands (forests that have been around since 1600s - 1750s and are home to a super diverse but also old and endangered species)

Daisies
represent purity, innocence, new beginnings, joy and cheerfulness
they represented loyalty and keeping secrets in the victorian era as well
Celtic mythology said that whenever a baby died, god would send daisies to help grieving parents
daisies were also associated with the Norse goddess Freya, thus giving them a connection to childbirth
they used to be used as medicine and can be sent as get-well-soon gifts to loved ones
they are often present in baby showers and 5th wedding anniversaries

Felt like bringing this up again since its been like 2 years and I don't know how many people still know about this. Also I thought it was interesting that Bendy, a demon who others often assume to be evil or malicious, is associated with flowers that mean innocence. Also why is he associated with flowers that tell you "hey you are in an ancient forest"
I could be reading to far into this but Tap mentioned in the post that she wasn't expecting that much research to be involved when giving the characters flowers so she most likely chose those flowers for specific reasons
#babitim#bendy and boris in the inky mystery#inky mystery#babtqftim#bendy and boris the quest for the ink machine#Love flower symbolism so much#also kinda sad that Bendy's fav is a flower so closely connected to having parents#poor buddy#fun fact if you turn a bluebell inside out without tearing it#its said you will win the heart of the person you love

ZenYuki in flower language
Zenyuki Week 2024 Appreciation Post @zenyuki-festival
Day 1: Pick a flower and its meaning that you feel most represents ZenYuki.
Okay, so this is an impossible task - I simply can't pink only ONE flower that represents Zenyuki for me. So I'll make a bouquet! mind you all of these together is a mess but I love it nonetheless
Firstly, I would pick typical red carnations; literally meaning "My Heart Aches For You", admiration, deep romantic love, and passion. When I think of ZenYuki I automatically think of deep devotion and admiration from both sides so carnations are perfect for them. *also zenyuki owns every cheesy romantic line ever so*
Next, bluebells! Their meanings are loyalty, constancy, and humility. These are all traits I associate with ZenYuki both as a couple and as individuals. There's steadiness in Shirayuki and Zen, especially when they are together.
Another flower that just screams ZenYuki to me is the azalea. I like this one for them visually a lot - I think it matches their vibe a lot, there's this softness about ZenYuki and azaleas uknow. Azaleas mean "Take Care of Yourself for Me" and if that isn't the cutest thing ever idk what is. It plays nicely into their long-distance relationship.
Similar to bluebells, bellflowers are so ZenYuki coded. I like to imagine ZenYuki being all noble and castle-vibey but simple wild flowers suit them so much too! Bellflowers mean unwavering love and a constant heart - I will simply die it's so them AAAA DO YOU SEE MY VISION!!?? It naturally goes hand in hand with meaning of gratitude which I associate with Shirayuki's gratitude towards everyone she met in Clarines and Zen's gratitude towards his closest friends/found family (also his gratitude to being a prince as well??!! hes so grateful he can be of service to Clarines)
This is my ZenYuki bouquet that is all over the place! Loved picking these and ofc there are way more flowers I associate with ZenYuki but I couldn't fit them all here ://
also honorable mentions:
Daffodils (regard, "You're the Only One", "The Sun is Always Shining When I'm with You")
Dandelions (overcoming hardship; faithfulness)
Blue Violets (watchfulness, "I'll always be true")
Wisteria (im cheesy) (new beginnings, transformation, passage of time)
#akagami no shirayukihime#snow white with the red hair#ans#zenyuki#shirayuki#zen wisteria#zenyuki week 2024#zen x shirayuki#im normal about them#pick a flower they said#im actually insane about flowers that have a whole lines associated with them#appreciation post#flower language#its 0:04 rn call me on time the event starts on the 9th and i make sure it does

The Language of Flowers
I didn’t care where I was going. After a while, I paused in the rose garden. The moonlight stained the red petals a deep purple and cast a silvery sheen on the white blooms. “My father had this garden planted for my mother,” Tamlin said from behind me. I didn’t bother to face him. I dug my nails into my palms as he stopped by my side. “It was a mating present.” ~ ACOTAR, ch. 19
To celebrate Tamlin Week, Day 3 (as outlined in depth here), one of our prompts is "Flower Language". The title of the book itself carries a double meaning. A Court of Thorns and Roses is not only a Beauty and the Beast retelling (as we know, he is the Beast, she is the Beauty, although they kind of share both roles), but she is also the Thorn to his Rose.
Roses are widely considered to be a symbol of love. Love was the answer to Amarantha's riddle, and why Feyre braved the Trials Under the Mountain, despite Tamlin trying to send her home for the same reason.
Roses are not the only flowers that mean love. Tulips and Forget-me-nots can mean love, too, but it can also depend on the color (as it does for roses.) The deeper the red of the rose, for example, the deeper the love is said to be, while white indicates innocence. (There is a link below for a list of rose colors and their meanings, if you're interested. In addition, there are links for herbs and other plants.)
While the number of plants and their meanings is too long to list here, here are a handful to inspire you:
AMARANTH: immortality, immortal love
ASH: strength, power, divine connection, authority, protection
BIRCH: adaptability, growth, renewal, death, returning from the grave, new beginnings
BLUEBELL: loyalty, constancy, humility, gratitude
DAFFODIL: uncertainty, chivalry, respect or unrequited love, return my affection, new beginnings
FERN: magic, enchantment, confidence, sincerity, shelter
FORGET-ME-NOT: true love, faithful love, memories
FOXGLOVE: insincerity, immortality, courage, adventures, bravery
HYACINTH: constancy, sorrow, playfulness, loveliness, jealousy
IRIS: eloquence, good news, faith, hope, wisdom, compliments, passion, purity
LAUREL: ambition, success, renown
MARIGOLD: pain, grief
MORNING GLORY: love in vain, affection
PEONY: shame, bashfulness, anger
ROSEMARY: remembrance
SNOWDROP: consolation, hope
TULIP: new start, rebirth, prosperity, indulgence, abundance

1 oooh what is dis name?
1. Does your lamb go by any name other then lamb? If so, what?
My lamb has had two names but as their name was changed very young they don't remember the first
The name they go by and we're given after being stolen away from the bishops is Bluebell (after the meanings of bluebells which are Loyalty, Constancy, Humility, and Gratitude)
The name they originally had and don't remember was less a name for them and more their mother's desperate wish for her child it being David after the story of David and Goliath them being named such in the hopes it would mean they would be the lamb to fell the bishops
They do still go by lamb to their followers though

We back at it again with Steel woo
Honestly, Steel wouldn’t be too much of an avid tv guy. But throw on an interesting show like House of the Dragon or something like The Owl House and he’s HOOKED
Ima be honest I kinda went on a small rabbit hole of plant and flower meanings- so ima just list off the ones that sport Steel’s vibes
Blackthorn - Fate, protection, hope against adversity, good fortune
Bluebell - Loyalty, constancy, humility & gratitude
Fungus - Resilience, loneliness, solitude, disgust
Nettle (stinging) - Life and death, protection
Ok next question
Steel’s body I would describe as probably tall and muscly but malnourished. At least at the start of his story and journey with TBB. But slowly gains back his physical physique over time while with them :)
Welcome to OC Sundays! 💙 Each week, I'll post three random questions for you to answer for one or more of your OCs. Feel free to link the work(s) they appear in, too! We'll have a little showcase where you might discover someone that piques your interest and voila! Something new to read! 😁 As for the image? Random dude I found on Canva, with so much sass and so much cake that I had to include him. 🤣🙈 And apparently all of this is going to have a 70's vibe, LOL.
What would their favorite TV show be?
What kind of flower or plant most captures their vibe?
Describe their body type.
#Steel Vizsla#oc sunday#free's oc showcase#some of the flower meanings might be wrong but I don’t know#sorry if they are

Me: Wow, I’m writing a 5k story about torturing Gai and I’m not even at the end, I’ll probably go over 10k if I continue like this
Also me: Wow, I really want to write something new for @depressedkakashihatake‘s Rival Clans!AU
Me, again: Oh well, guess I’l write a bit of an angsty thing about Dai.
So here I am. And I should probably post both this one and the other one I wrote on AO3.
Anyway. It’s not really about Kakagai, but it’s a, err, hinted SakuDai? It’s really just Dai talking with Sakumo’s grave after Kakashi and Gai run away from Konoha. And I should think of a title, but I suck at titles, so here we go.
---
The sky was free from clouds that night, the moon high and the stars shining from far away, basking the graveyard in a pale light.
In front of a particular grave, a man was sitting cross-legged, one hand on the stone, fingers lightly stroking the name engraved in it.
"They're gone," the man was saying, his black eyes never leaving the stone in front of him, something fond in his gaze. "You should have seen them, they really seemed to be happy together." A sigh, and then a small, sad smile stretched on the man's face. "Sometimes I wonder, my dear, if we could have done the same, all those years ago."
He knew that it was risky to be there, in front of that particular tombstone, but the man didn't really care. If a Maito saw him, he would be disowned without a second thought, and if a Hatake saw him he would probably be killed on the spot.
Either way, this was important, and Dai was ready to risk it. Sakumo needed to know that their sons were able to escape, safe and unharmed.
"Kakashi was ready to attack me if I tried to take Gai back home." He said, chuckling a bit at that. "And Gai was ready to do everything to protect him. They are good for each other. The elders are blind if they can't see the love they share."
Another sigh, but the smile that stretched this time across Dai's face was softer and not quite as sad as before. "Kakashi was speechless when I gave him your tantō." He said, the memory playing in his head, making him almost laugh. "I think I never saw him at a loss of words before tonight." Kakashi wasn't known for letting emotions taking the best of him, Sakumo always said that his son had problems with his feelings.
Dai hoped that Gai would be of help for him just as much as he hoped that Kakashi would be good for Gai. He loved his son, but sometimes he could be a bit... Extra. Kakashi's calm behavior would surely help him tone it down a bit.
"I’ll miss them both, you know." His voice was low, barely carried by the light breeze. "I hope you'll be able to keep an eye on them, wherever you are now." A breath, and then silence. It stretched for second after second, and the moon, so high in the sky when Dai first arrived, was starting its descent.
It was late (or was it early?) when Dai finally decided to get up, legs heavy and tingling after sitting cross-legged for hours on end. "I should go, now. If they find me it's the end. I'm afraid we'll have to wait a bit more before we can be together again." He didn't really want to go, but he had things to do. The two clans would find out soon that both their prodigy were gone, and if the Maito didn't find Dai at home they would probably understand that he helped them in their escape (he didn't really help them, he just gave them his blessing).
With a last gaze at the grave, Dai sighed. He let this moment pass by, before shaking his head and straightening his posture.
He would need to act like he didn’t know anything. He would need to be surprised, even angry, when the Maito will find out about Gai. He would need to lie, even if he wasn’t really that good at doing it.
Leaving the graveyard, the moon now low on the horizon, he left behind just a little something.
Following the breeze, an Hibiscus, a Bluebell and a white Acacia swayed gently in the silence.
#naruto#fanfiction#one shot#rival!clans au#maito dai#sakumo hatake#sort of#hibiscus means youthfulness first love and the shortness of life#that's dai's flower#bluebells means loyalty humility constancy and everlasting love#that's sakumo's flower#white acacia means secret love#so yeah#SakuDai#more or less#I just love them too much

Floyd and Jade Leech’s Flower Bouquet Meaning
Twst Bdays Flower Language Masterlist
I debated a bit on wether I wanted to make separate posts for each of the twin’s bouquet or one single one. I decided, in the end, to make one post because while their bouquets might be different in some aspects; they still share similarities. Plus, I find it cute how they share groovies and I didn’t want to separate that theme. (and I have a cold and am lazy soooo...)
As with some of the other boys, I don’t know much about the twins besides main game and story events. But I do have some octa friends and I hope I do justice for them.🌻🌺
So the tweels are interesting in the fact that they don’t follow the theme that the other boys followed, where based on the position of the sun, they would have a day or night groovy. But we can say though, that its pretty normal for them to not stick to the status quo right? Plus, that groovy with them both is beautiful.
These card really show off their personalities, especially in how they hold their bouquet. Floyd looks like he’s ready to whack someone with his bouquet but Jade is holding his with one hand. As Lala pointed out, those bouquets are not exactly light, so that shows the inner danger that Jade also posses. 🤔
Another interesting aspect of the bouquets is how similar and yet different they are? Both have colors of blues, purples, whites, and greens, but each are unique. Each lean more towards one color over the others. Jade more in the purples and Floyd more in the blues.
While they both give me “under the sea vibes,” Floyd’s bouquets gives me more of that feeling than Jade’s. While Jade’s gives me more of a natural beauty vibe or I guess you can also say octavinelle colors: Purple, some blues, and whites.
[As usual, my disclaimer from before stands, flowers have many different meanings depending on region and color, so the meanings I have might differ from the meanings you know]
Jade’s Bouquet:
Purple Roses: Look up up to them, value someone’s opinion, honor, respect, enchantment with a lover, elegant.
White Roses: young love, eternal loyalty, new beginning, honor.
