occasionally i'll look up a ff14 fish on google (to find things like uptimes or bait when i'm away from carby) and see reddit posts or forum threads about it that have titles like how IMPOSSIBLE the fish is to catch and how fishing is proof square HATES the ff14 playerbase and then when you read them you can plainly see that it's just (and i hate to say this) a skill issue
#it's pretty handy how the buttons tell you what they do#and if you rub some braincells together you might even be able to figure out how some of these skills work in tandem#i also like the ones that boil down to âthey should overhaul the fishing system because *I* don't like it!â#maybe it's ok that there's one completely optional part of this game that isn't for you#i will say that the fish that are just a luck check (aka any slap chum) are kind of bs

Degree Theory: Astrologyâs Version of Skill Levels (Noobs to Final Bosses) đźđ
You already know your Sun sign, but did you know the degree number itâs at can unlock even more secrets about you? đ€Ż
Every planet in your birth chart sits at a specific degree (0°-29°), and these numbers add an extra layer of meaning to your personality, strengths, and even life lessons.
Letâs break it down planet by planetâwith a fun, no-BS take.
0° â The Cosmic Newborn đ¶
"Iâm here to start something big."
Planets at 0° act like fresh energyâpure, unfiltered, and ready to shake things up. People with 0° placements feel like pioneers, as if the universe dropped them off and said, "Figure it out!"
đč Sun at 0°: You radiate raw, unfiltered main character energy. Youâre not here to followâyou're here to lead (or at least dramatically exist).
đč Moon at 0°: Your emotions are pure instinctâyou donât just feel things, you ARE the feeling. Mood swings? Nah, mood rollercoasters.
đč Mercury at 0°: Words just spill out, whether they make sense or not. Genius or chaotic chatterboxâdepends on the day.
đč Venus at 0°: You love like a Disney princessâpure, big, dramatic. Also, zero poker face when youâre into someone.
đč Mars at 0°: Immediate action. No waiting, no thinking, just punching the gas (and sometimes people).
đč Jupiter at 0°: The lucky golden retriever of astrology. You say yes to everything, and somehow life rewards you for it.
đč Saturn at 0°: Born responsible. You came out of the womb stressed about taxes.
đč Uranus at 0°: Youâre the definition of unpredictable. Even you donât know what youâll do next.
đč Neptune at 0°: You live in your own fantasy world, and reality is just a suggestion.
đč Pluto at 0°: Intensity level? Maximum. You were born with a âdestroy and rebuildâ button.
1°-9° â The Rising Star đ
"Iâm developing my power."
Planets at early degrees feel like fresh talent in trainingâraw, ambitious, and figuring things out.
đč Sun at 5°: Youâre the rising star in your social circle. Humble beginnings, but just waitâyou're gonna shine.
đč Moon at 3°: Emotional development in progress. Youâre learning what feels right and what just feelsâŠick.
đč Mercury at 7°: Brain-to-mouth filter? Still buffering. But your ideas? Gold.
đč Venus at 2°: Love is cute, fun, flirtyâuntil you catch feelings, then itâs panic mode.
đč Mars at 8°: Your drive is explosive, but figuring out when to stop is the real challenge.
đč Jupiter at 6°: Luck works in your favor when youâre brave enough to take risks.
đč Saturn at 9°: Learning responsibility early in life, but still finding that work-hard-play-hard balance.
đč Uranus at 4°: Experimenting with your rebellious streak, but not fully committing (yet).
đč Neptune at 1°: A dreamer whoâs just waking up to their spiritual and creative potential.
đč Pluto at 5°: Transformation is happening, but itâs not at full power (yet).
10°-19° â The Master of the Craft đ
"I know exactly what Iâm doing."
Middle-degree planets are strong, balanced, and naturally expressedânot too raw, not too extreme.
đč Sun at 15°: Peak confidence. You own your personality like itâs patented.
đč Moon at 12°: Emotionally balancedâuntil someone messes with your peace. Then itâs war.
đč Mercury at 18°: Quick wit, great communicator, could talk their way out of a crime.
đč Venus at 14°: Aesthetic queen/king. Your love life and your fashion sense? Both on point.
đč Mars at 17°: Strategic AF. You know when to strike and when to chillâwarrior with a plan.
đč Jupiter at 11°: Wise and lucky. Life is a game and youâve got the cheat codes.
đč Saturn at 19°: The mature friend who somehow also enjoys chaos. You handle responsibility like a pro.
đč Uranus at 16°: Balanced rebel. Knows when to push boundaries and when to play along.
đč Neptune at 10°: Dreams are just clear enough to bring to reality. Manifesting pro.
đč Pluto at 13°: Power? Controlled but always present. You scare people (in a good way).
20°-28° â The Old Soul đŠ
"Iâve seen it all, and Iâm here to finish the job."
Late-degree planets are intense, wise, and powerfulâbut also impatient because theyâve been through it all.
đč Sun at 25°: Youâre a boss, period. No time for games, just legacy-building.
đč Moon at 22°: Emotionally deep AF. You KNOW things before people even open their mouths.
đč Mercury at 28°: Talks like a professor and a stand-up comedian at the same time.
đč Venus at 26°: Love is serious business. No casual dating, just intense connections.
đč Mars at 21°: Unstoppable force. Youâve already mastered actionânow youâre here to win.
đč Jupiter at 23°: Wise beyond your years. Youâve learned all the lessons and now youâre the teacher.
đč Saturn at 27°: Life has tested you more than most, but you wear your scars like armor.
đč Uranus at 28°: Fully awakened rebel. You break all the rules, but somehow succeed anyway.
đč Neptune at 24°: Master manifestor. You make the impossible seem normal.
đč Pluto at 27°: Your power is legendary. You were born to make generational changes.
29° â The Fated Degree đ„ (Final Boss Level of Astrology)
"This energy is my final test."
29° is called the "Anaretic Degree," aka the boss battle of astrology. Itâs like cramming for a final examâthe universe is making sure youâve truly mastered this planetary energy. If you have a planet here, thereâs often urgency, intensity, and a feeling of fate around that area of life.
đč Sun at 29°: Walking powerhouse. Youâve learned all there is about your identity, and now itâs your final test to own it. Spotlight finds you whether you want it or not.
đč Moon at 29°: Emotional sage. Youâve felt it all, been through emotional hell and back, and now your intuition is on god-tier mode. But emotions can feel overwhelming, like you're carrying generations of feelings.
đč Mercury at 29°: Brilliant but exhausted mind. Your thoughts race at 5G speed, but decision-making is HARD because you see all the options. Overthinking is your enemy.
đč Venus at 29°: Love and beauty master. Youâve seen every possible romantic situationâloyalty, betrayal, passion, heartbreak. Now, love feels fated and no casual flings will do.
đč Mars at 29°: The warrior with no off switch. Youâve been in SO many battles (literal or metaphorical) that your go-to reaction is "fight first, think later." But the lesson? Not every war is worth it.
đč Jupiter at 29°: Lucky but reckless. You know how to take risks and make big moves, but sometimes itâs too much, too fast. Learning when to pull back is key.
đč Saturn at 29°: The old soul whoâs been through the wringer. Youâve mastered responsibility, but you might feel like youâve been an adult since age 5. Final test? Balancing hard work with actual joy.
đč Uranus at 29°: Rebel genius. Youâve already mastered breaking rules, revolutionizing ideas, and making history. Now? You need to use that power responsibly.
đč Neptune at 29°: Spiritual visionary. Youâve seen through the illusion, lived in your dreams, and touched the mystical. Now, the challenge is staying grounded in reality while keeping the magic alive.
đč Pluto at 29°: Transformation overload. You were born into powerful, life-changing experiences. Intensity follows you like a shadow, but your final test is learning to control the fire instead of letting it consume you.
So, Whatâs Your Degree Number? đ€

hi i feel really fucking mentally sick for some reason tonight do u have any fluffier sangihun hcs đ (sending this to multiple moots i swear im not like a hijacked bot lol)
yes of course my dear moot!!! I hope these make you feel better.
--Sangihun Fluffy Headcanons
-imagine sangwoo and gihun sleepy daysss. they just lay in bed glued together. They don't talk, just lay peacefully.
-okay but with all of this talk about them getting dressed in the bathroom together, what about when they are not in the games and they dress each other. idk i just find a cute image in gi hun putting on sangwoos shoes or sangwoo buttoning gihuns shirt.
-also i thought of a cute thing about if their moms lowkey knew about them. honestly they would support. i think sang woos mom would not push but kind of want them to be together so bad. she probably has said some weird vague shit about accepting sangwoo for who he is and that he should stay close friends with gihun forever. mal-soon however is tired of their bs. she aint going to do a thing if they aint going to do a thing, ya know?
-imagine their dates too!! i don't think they would do anything too extravagant. I imagine a lot of the dates are things they wanted to do together as kids but they were either vaguely or fully meant for couples or people who were crushing on each other.
-also them sharing things if they live together??? they only know whos clothes are whos by size but everything is pretty much put together. also sang woo teases gihun about his stupid dad clothes. its okay though because gihun bullies him back about the business smarty pants shit he wears.

Japanese QL Corner
Another fantastic week to be a JQL fan. The first three of these are on Gaga, and I highly recommend jumping into the weekly watch!
Takara's Treasure
This show is exactly the low stress vibe I need for a Sunday evening. My child Taishin continues to be cute as a button, and Takara is clearly charmed, if still a bit wary. I was very into all the cute content this episode with the marbles and the glass earrings. Honestly, this show doesn't inspire much deep thought because it's just so straightforward and pleasant, and I am digging that.
I Hear the Sunspot
After getting Koheiâs backstory last week, this week we got to see a bit more of what makes Taichi tick and remember that below his sunshine exterior is a deeper well of feelings, and not all of them happy. This is the guy who opened the show by punching someone, and today we learned one source of his inner turmoil: parental rejection. My favorite scene in the episode was the one where he confessed this wound to an unwitting Kohei, who, when he realized Taichi was saying things to him he couldnât hear, demanded Taichi keep his commitment to always communicate with him clearly. I loved this bit of nuance and how it tied back to Taichi's lecture of the girl earlier, because even though there was clearly no malicious intent here, Taichi knew Kohei couldnât hear him and tried to take advantage of that to avoid vulnerability. Heâs not perfect, and I loved that Kohei felt safe to call him on that. A fantastic scene and I am loving this.
Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko
The hilarity continues as Hiroko bends herself into pretzels to find ways to interpret Ayaka's love confessions as anything other than what they clearly are. Ayaka continues to escalate with some help from Kumi and her otome gaming tips, but Hiroko latches onto her friendly relationship with Yuya to continue believing she's straight. Speaking of, I love that Yuya is just a good coworker with no ulterior motives. A lot of dramas would make him a rival or a villain, but here he is a decent guy, and I appreciate it and the way he and Risa are clearly picking up on Ayaka's feelings and keeping it to themselves. Highlights of this ep include the escalating group massage and Ayaka's chaotic attempts to cook for her beloved, and I am dying to know what misunderstanding in the past damaged Hiroko so much. I just love every character in this story and I'm having a great time.
Bonus: Zettai BL 3
The Bs are back to L again, and it is every bit as fun as I expected. Mobu continues to be a treasure and a delight, and at this point, methinks the lady doth protest too much about not wanting his own love story. I was delighted with the way his story went after last season's cliffhanger, and also pretty excited to see this show kick up the heat levels on all the background mini bls. There were so many highlights of this new season that I don't want to list in detail because I just want you to go watch. It's an incredibly pleasant way to spend a couple hours! Major shoutout to @ikeoji-subs for creating English subs so all of us international fans could watch and enjoy; the last of the episodes was posted last night, so go ahead and dive in!
Tagging @bengiyo for anime update.

was at my sisters house to watch the cats a bit and played some botw again after a long time, spent an hour running around phirone (faron) and checking out all the cool sonau (zonai) stuff and i felt a wave of sadness wash over me, those ruins there feel so ... heavy with story, with sadness of tragedy, with the thrill of the unkown, yet its revealed to be nothing in totk, i honestly dont feel like the sonau of botw and of totk are at all releated tbh, theres like, NO design overlap besides sometimes some dragon-like figures that feel more like they put them into totk just to have some connection at all-
the botw sonau ruins are all full of curves hewn into dark stone with red accents, theres swirls and snakes everywhere, appropriately withered by time and weather- it was already a stupid idea to replace the shiekah tech with literally another ancient highly advanced civilaztion, but then to not even make them look or feel at all connected to the little things that were there?? totk sonau is white stone and gold and green, its all extremely angular and clean cut, together with weird hologram shit that reads, somehow, as both unfittingly techy to everything else while also neither mechnical nor magical
its fucking bonkers, i know they put some totk sonau bullshit into some of the ruins in totk, like the main ones in phirone but like, especially in that case with the direct comparison its so jarring and artificial, and i hate the excuse of "hylians built those different looking buildings as a monument to the sonau", like we needed more shitty excuses for bad writing decisions- the ancient AND current hylian stuff aligns more with totk sonau stuff, why would they adopt a completely different style to built shit around actual sonau stuff that somehow also looks like it was abandoned like, 50 years, 100 years ago, not over TEN THOUSAND years ago, both the botw sonau ruins and the shiekah tech look more ancient than anything totk sonau
and what for??? i imagine more botw sonau style ruins and like, thats entirely possible, why make it sth utterly different and give it a shitty excuse?? its so unnecessary?? like okay make the wheels out of withered stone hanging together like clumps by invisible magic like how the iwaroks (the .. stone enemy) works- i still would like it sicne i dont like the whole building thing in botws world, but at least it would feel like truly magic bs and fit into the design of botw sonau (even though im still not over NOTHING ever hinting that they were one step away from spaceships hologram aliens, the refusal to work with the stuff they themselves have put into their games drives me up a wall, YOU PUT IT THERE! DO SOMETHIGN WITH IT!)
just to put some modern tech into it? was it worth it?? (no)- and there i could even go on about how much i hate the 'tech' design too, its too little mechanical to be called 'tech' but too modern tech like to call it 'magic', (a balance which the shiekah tech did tremendously well imo) i keep being impressed with how conflicting and incoherent design and story can be in this one single overpriced game
(the reason them making it so modern techy looking was so players would immediately know what it was apparently and i just ... doesnt that make it more boring? like instead of the shiekah stone(slate) they just put a flip phone with numbered buttons and all and give it a vaguely stone texture? instead of like, a guardian with its spider legs and strange creepy design, just put a fucking tank there??? (and like, in a way i feel like the fact that they still tried to not make it look too modern by putting that green texture on it and like, a face here and there, makes it WORSE, a bad cover up is worse to me than none at all, like a shitty explanation can make sth worse than no explanation at all *ahem* literally every interview they did >:C )
also i dont know how you could even design a fan so it doesnt look like a fan? you dont need to put in literal car wheels with suspension and all in there to make it clear its a wheel bc how would you even design a wheel so it doesnt read like a wheel???
since when did they get so anxious about players not understanding something?? the whole series was built on puzzles of varying difficulty, whats with the sudden loss in trust in the player?? botw was already pretty easy but in totk the whole game treats you like you cant think or remember sth for more than 30 seconds to the point it gets actively agonizing to play through- the same two sentences of unimportant info repeated and shown to your face over and over, both in story and gameplay- and even with their immediately readable design choices for the sonau 'tech' they made half teh shrines either sloggingly slow tutorials or one puzzle shrines that are dedicated to teach you how the obvious thing works when you really learn it all on the literal tutorial island AND its obvious from the start BECAUSE THEY WANTED IT TO BE OBVIOUS!! its fun to figure things out and try stuff, its no fun to have a step by step guide glued to your forehead at all times especially when its so obvious, yes thanks for teaching me that a literal fire hydrant spits out water!! wow! never thought about that! thanks for telling me it 5 times too!! (even if it annoys me that they can just do that when not connected to the ground .. would have been more fun to make puzzle with if they were,,), its part of why i felt like the game was so condescending or outright laughing at me-
why even try to teach me how a fan works over and over when like, there arent even any creative things you can do with it in a reasonable amount of time and its never needed or incentivised either bc the game just hands you the literal solution or at the very least give you the four parts or what that you need to make what you need, like pulling apart two bricks of baby lego in fornt of a toddler to see if they can put them back together once you hand it to them
and dont come at me with the "its for kids" argument, the old games were too and theres alot of stages of 'kid', they arent stupid either and nintendo should know that they have alot of adult fans too, it doesnt need to be dark souls and its allowed to have easy stuff in there but the fact that it never gets any more challenging is the problem, yes part of the fun in games can be making your own rules and messing around but it really shouldnt be controversial to want a 70 bucks game to offer a fun experience without you having to make it fun all on your own (i for one dont enjoy spending 30 minutes glueing togehter a tank with ear shattering lasers just to inefficiently beat up 3 bokblins i could just swing my sword at for a few seconds instead and are not worth the materials spend anyway)
in the end it would have been less immersion breaking and more fun if they straight up put a honda civic into the game you can summon anywhere at no cost (hmmmm where did they just do it before hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm) and transforms like a batmobile to fly around in rather than the weird sonau nuts and bolts hassle you have to put up with, costs stuff, can waste hours of your time and despawn as soon as you look away from it unless you want to make le funny tiktok videos i guess
its such a waste too bc the mechanic itself IS impressive, but its utterly missplaced in this game, it would have needed its own, truly own, game built around it, placing it in botws world is like dumping a bunch of knock off brand toys into a world that felt believable and meaningful turning it to feel like its really just a game for you to mess around in, never has a game felt more gamey to me and it SUCKS to have that magic pulled away like that, silly me for letting them make me care about it i guess
maybe its petty but as someone how really cares alot about design stuff, both visually and gameplay wise, it makes me furious to think about (as you can tell) .. also hyperfixation go brrrrrrr
(this is obviously my view on it, writing this to get it out, not to argue, i believe i have heard all the arguments already anyway and by this point all that is left is just insulting me directly lol)
#ganondoodles talks#zelda#ganondoodles rants#totk critical#look at me just wanting to quickly mention sth#and it devolving into a rant again fjdkbdhgvdjk#also does the english description for the barbaric armor say they lived in phirone?#in german it just says it belonged to a warrior tribe and the symbols on the head piece are supposed to strengthen your fighting spirit#when i look at the botw sonau ruins i dont think of the totk sonau at all#its completely different to me#and maybe its a good sign at least that i can play botw and still feel something

Hopes and dreams I had for Dragon Age 4 that we so did not get.đđą
An actual RPG game. Not Nice Guy, Nice Funny Guy, and Nice but Stern Guy. Let us screw up and piss off our companions.
No more dialogue wheel selection bait and switches. "Nooo I didn't mean that. I did not think they would say that! That's not what I thought that choice meant. I meant-fuck! *sighs* ...I guess I'll have to reload." Or more accurately, "That was the mean option? Are you kidding me!"
Letting the player be an asshole. Sometimes, it's just cathartic to punch a character. People in customer service especially need this at the end of a shift. Putting this in games is a public service. We needed more of those kinds of moments beyond the bloody tutorial.
More of our previous choices having an actual impact in DA4. Like the Well of Sorrows I was so certain would bite an Inquisitor in the ass somehow in the future. Like Morrigan with Mythal in her could force the Inqusitor to hurt or even try to kill Solas. So I agonized over that choice. The same goes for who we left in the fade. Honestly, the three or so that carried over I did not see any impact on DAVG at all. Am I wrong?
Who we left in the fade showing up or we find their body. "Where's Hawke?" Yeah... where's Hawke BioWare? Get's Hawke's clothes instead. Well, that's... depressing.
The option to play as the Inquisitor trying to be low profile or as a nobody aka Rook. This way, everyone is happy, right? For a lot of us, the Inquisitor going toe to toe again with Solas was important.
By playing as the Inquisitor we would have had one sweet Dagna-created prostatic arm-not from Bianca because screw her. Also, depending on our class each one would be a little different. Oh, and that prosthetic would also be customizable just like Varric's crossbow and every other weapon in Dragon Age Inquisition. I really thought BioWare would jump to help feature an amputee in an empowering way. True we had Neve but it felt like more of an afterthought to give her a prosthetic that honestly looks uncomfortable as hell.
Open worlds to collect mats, and kill things to craft gear and weapons for our team only better. It would have given us time to breathe and enjoy the scenery. Plus I like doing that kind of tedious shit and if you don't, fine go buy that stuff I guess.
Vendors that will sell us the goods if we got the coin and none of that faction BS.
"Knife ear!" You think at least the venatori would be shouting that at my elf. Nope! I did not feel like my character's race mattered in this game. I don't think Solas over a decade really put the fear of the gods into the North. We all know isms and slavery are bad but putting those things in a game's world helps people realize why they're bad and can even help people feel what it's like to be on the receiving end of such abuses which can help create a thing called empathy.
Blood! Where is the blood? Why is my character not covered in dirt and the gore of their enemies? Don't like that, fair but what about an on-off feature in settings?
Enemies that send chills down my spine. Instead, the ogres and darkspawn made me bust out laughing. I cannot take them seriously, especially the ogres. I see them and think, "Derp a durr... oh I'm an ogre and soooo scardy... rawr."
Dagna... because she's adorable and if any dwarf deserves magic it's her. Or at least let her nerd out, study Lace and help her understand more about her new abilities.
Sandal Cameo at least. Also adorable aaand... ENCHANTMENT!
Our companions can get hurt. I'm starting to think they made them immortal because they knew some of us would let them get hurt on purpose. There are no feelings of concern at all for them going into combat now, no pick-up mechanics it leaves me feeling only more apathetic about them.
Quicker cooldowns on abilities instead of spamming the left mouse button all of the time. And more than two fucking abilities on my hot bar. BioWare... what were you thinking?
Three or more companions traveling with us instead of two. It was the gold standard all throughout the franchise. How are we supposed to get to know them all when limited to-oh right most of them have a personality as deep as a kiddy pool, never mind.
Companions with personalities and problems deeper than kiddy pools. That tension between Cassandra and Varric, Dorrian and Vivienne, Cole and Sera, and so forth was... chief's kiss.
Control of all THREE of our companions traveling with us in combat. Look, I'm a control freak who likes strategy. Combat for the series has always been centered on strategy, pausing, builds, and gear. Am I still bitter that they dropped us to two? ...Yes.
If playing as the Inquisitor you get the option to romance someone new. Especially let us have the option for Lavellan to move on from Solas.
Better-looking hands and body proportions. Why are the heads so damn big? And honestly the hands in failguard genuinely creep me the hell out with tucking the pinkies away all the time. It's weird! Strange hill to die on I know but they just make me cringe and die a little inside.
Romance scenes that would make Larian and BG3 fans blush. This game was always meant for adults. Adults have *gasp* SEX!
Solas not being a total red flag d-bag for killing our favorite dwarf! Run Lavellan Run! You're probably next. And if not him, Bianca is going for your eyes!
Solas being less of a manipulative antagonist twat and/or the player has the ability to be more diplomatic from the start with Solas to get his help. I feel like Solas' character development sorta backtracked by a lot.
Solas once again is a romance option but this time to EVERYONE! That and I wanted to see Lavellan and Solas finally get it on.
They finally let us romance Varric. Oh they did you so dirty, baby... *ugly crying*
A memorable soundtrack that sets off all the feels and is not stuff that's reused from the Inquisition.
Last but not least, where the fuck is our Golden Nug Bioware?
I might add more later, but feel free to add more and comment below!

Just found your blog, love the way you talk about Bart Allen (plus konbart lol)
I got some questions if thatâs ok?
1: whatâs some of your favorite facts about Bart Allen?
2: whatâs some of your favorite headcanons of Bart Allen?
3: what voice do you hear for Bart every time you read his speech bubbles?
4: do you have your own universe/Earth?
Hi! I love seeing you in my notifications! I hope you're enjoying your time here.
1: whatâs some of your favorite facts about Bart Allen?
I can only do a few of these otherwise I won't stop talking.
He has a lot of zeal for life and curiosity.
He's always willing to give almost anything a try when it comes to his media which ranges from liking shows like Patty Duke to R Rated movies like Pulp Fiction.
His creator Mark Waid didn't intend to write him so well as an autistic character, in fact he had never even heard of the term until many years after he stopped writing for him, but since he's become more familiar with autism he supports people seeing Bart as autistic. Will he canonize this? Doubtful but you never know.
Bart really is the most teenager character ever - he's not immature for his age he's literally a teenager. It's not his fault all other teen characters are held to so high a standard.
He is without shame or bias.
2: whatâs some of your favorite headcanons of Bart Allen?
He uses video games to SLOW DOWN and calibrate his own speed. No matter how fast you push a button, a video game can only go so fast - he cannot make the video game go faster so he has to slow down to play them.
He's a White Flash and a very special type of speedster.
Because he was born in an interstellar mixed society, it is very unlikely that he genetically 100% human. It is very likely that the Thawnes in their long history on Earth had interspecies reproduced with one of the many, many aliens humanity had formed a relationship with. This could explain why his eyes are yellow but that could just be the Speed Force.
I personally think he might have a little bit of Cargite in him because of his ability and ease to create Speed Force duplicates. He might not be able to duplicate himself at all biologically, but the Speed Force clones come naturally to him. (This will only make sense to LoSH fans).
He's demiromantic, pansexual. He's not going to be interested in ANYONE until they know his own personal lore and he makes a significant connection with them - meanwhile he will walk down any street just so long as the view is nice.
He has future education and knowledge that clashes a lot with the education he had to choke down in the 20th century - particularly when it comes to sex education as he is from a future with genders we cannot begin to conceptualize across multiple species as (once again) his birth time is a mixed society.
Wally was mildly annoyed and overjoyed when he tried to give Bart "the talk" as his cousin closest to his age (Max REFUSED) only to have Bart give him a very perplexed look because he already knew everything he needed to know, and more than him anyway. Does Wally know about Xudarian "estrus" cycles? No, no he does not. Does this information help Bart? In this time, not really. But he knows it.
3: what voice do you hear for Bart every time you read his speech bubbles?
You know, Jason Marsden really was the perfect cast. Otherwise I just hear my own voice in a lower pitch (people tell me I sound like Leela from Futurama but idk).
4: do you have your own universe/Earth?
I feel like it is very hard for a fan of comics to not have their own little personal canon and world that they like to dream on. Sometimes it is made of of multiple details across media or sometimes a collection of canon or omissions of details - and I am no different really.
I have a lot of AUs in combination with my own little personal canon (Bart never became The Flash, and if he did he wasn't aged up he was just 16, fuck that BS).
Right now the two main AUs that are picking my brain the most right now are the Runaway AU where Wally tried to take Bart in and Bart ran away, and the Black Zero continuity that is canon but we don't have any information on Bart.
Bart does not survive that one sadly and BZ is very upset. We all need one fucked up story, it's antiseptic.
Oh, I also did my own little AU in my fic Sunshine. Falling. but it was more for Fira than anything that is a mix of details they personally love a lot and so do I to an extent. My tastes have shifted a bit since I published it but it's still a fine world I think. If I rewrote it today though it would be quite different.
Thank you so much for the questions! It was a joy to ramble about this speedy boy.

Switch 2 Prices Rant
Actually tagging this post because the points in this poorly organized rant aren't empty, and I do want them see to some extent
maybe someone else will tidy up my tired ass's mess of points from a meandering rant into bullet points or something.
maybe I'll tidy it up later into like, an essay, idfk, it's a mess and I'm not looking to actually write an essay.
... oh boy this is gonna ruffle some feathers though, guess I'm finally opening myself up to some hellsite discourse...
NGL, I'm getting fed up with people complaining about Nintendo Switch 2 prices and Switch 2 game prices, when they're only halfway to catching up with inflation since 2005 on the game prices on the most expensive games, which means yes, Mario Kart World is cheaper than Madden 05 was, and they're refusing to acknowledge the actual problem that their own wages aren't going up to keep up with inflation.
Within the (shitty) present system, the problem isn't a luxury good being 450 bucks, it's that you're not being paid enough for what you do.
AND for fucks sake, 450 bucks for a piece of tech that is on the cutting edge of power efficient gaming, is pretty decent.
These guys are out here fixing or improving most of the problems with the previous generation system they made, and keep on not laying off their employees unlike the other big fish, and what they get is people being understandably unhappy about the price and lying about stuff to have a big ol' negativity circlejerk on Nintendo, while saying shit like "it's not a political issues" and ignoring the fact that Videogames are the cheapest form of entertainment there is today, even with these price increases, and the fact that wages being stagnant in an inflationary economy is obviously going to cause problems like this, and the related fact that SOMETHING IS OBVIOUSLY GOING TO GIVE WHEN AN INDUSTRY IGNORES INFLATION ON IT'S PRODUCTS FOR 20 YEARS, AS EVERYTHING ELSE GETS MORE EXPENSIVE, UPPING COSTS ALL AROUND FOR MAKING THE GAMES AND HARDWARE TOO
and
that's not even getting into the absolute BULLSHIT where companies that have publicly traded stocks in the US have a legal responsibility to keep grow every year!
THAT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE
COMPANIES HAVE BEEN SELF CANNIBALIZING BY MINIMIZING STAFF TO DEAL WITH THAT, WHY DO YOU THINK CVS PHARMACIES ARE SUCH SHITTY STORES WITH LIKE ONE PERSON STAFFING THEM?
Nintendo has been managing to keep away from stripping themselves for parts, despite the Switch 1 being frankly a shit show of a device by Nintendo's quality standards, with them going through a dark period of undercooked BS in the middle of its lifespan to boot.
They're doing shitty things with credits lately, that's something reasonable to complain about.
They're shitty to their fans with their IP enforcement, that's something reasonable to complain about.
They swept Joy-Con Drift under the rug, that's something reasonable to complain about.
They dedicated a whole ass physical button to a paywalled bootleg discord call feature, that's something reasonable to complain about.
BUT GODDAMN
PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICES OF THE CHEAPEST FOR CONSUMERS FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT THERE IS GOING UP IN PRICE BY A MODEST AMOUNT INSTEAD OF THEIR FOOD GOING UP IN PRICE OR THEIR WAGES STAYING STAGNANT FOR SO DAMN LONG THEY'RE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE MOST REASONABLE BLEMISH ON A RAY OF PLEASANTRY AMIDST A SEA OF DISASTER THAT CREATED THE BLEMISH INSTEAD OF LOOKING TO THE MAELSTROM AND RESISTING THE ACTUAL FUCKING PROBLEM
If you can't afford it, save up for it
if you can't save up for it, UNIONIZE AND DEMAND BETTER PAY SO YOU'RE NOT UNDERWATER JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE.
Ah yeah, the online subscription thing
that that exists at all, pretty shitty
but holy shit, I find it so annoying hearing about how much more you get out of XBOX Live or PlayStation Plus than Nintendo Switch Online
they're all doing the same shitty practice of paywalling your ability to access servers the subscription isn't even paying for, XBOX and PlayStation just force you to pay for EVEN MORE STUFF
Nintendo's top plan is asking LESS THAN HALF THE BASIC PLAN FOR THOSE OTHER TWO FUCKERS
50Ă·12<9.99
and the basic plan on Nintendo's end is less than 2 dollars a month,
as shit as it is that they paywall that at all, it's way better than what Microsoft and Sony are and have been doing for way longer, so comparing to them on that front is pretty bullshit too.
bllghhhh.
ok...
I think I'm done.

what do you think about the theory/interpretation that Noelle was supposed to be the 'second hero' monster girl, and Susie is a separate part of the prophecy?? I personally think it might be a red herring to knock Susie off her footing since she's been warming up to the title of legendary hero, and maybe someone uses the ambiguity to say she was never meant to be a hero in the first place and get in her head. I don't really see Noelle in the silhouette and I don't think Ralsei would lie about Susie being one of the three, but... what do you think?
Total bs and a cope lol. My friend went and checked the sprite names in the gameâs data since we werenât sure if it was meant to represent the ACT button or the rude buster icon, and itâs deadass titled ârude busterâ
Youâre also right ral has no reason to lie, and if Noelle was the second hero why is angel imagery constantly hammered for her? Why does susie recognize the girl as herself? Why does Ral say she has the heart of a hero? Why does Gerson tell her she has hope (the hero is the girl with her heart crossed with hope)? How does Noelle have her heart crossed with hope? If anything sheâs despairing
I get it Noelle Stan #4859 I just made up in my head to argue against, you love your deer and you want her to be one of the heroes real bad, but sometimes you really are just pulling theories out of your duodenum to complicate things for no reason

I loved how NEO pulled the rug out with Rindoâs character. At first, he generally seems much more sociable and outwardly friendly compared to Neku and then the game quickly goes "yeah, nah, heâs a huge fucking mess too." Heâs a good kid fundamentally at his core but he can also be whiny, hypocritical, passive-aggressive, and kind of insensitive at times. He has a tendency to be judgemental and harsh to the people around him while not acknowledging his own faults, like when he complains about Beat joining the team even though he saved their lives beforehand because heâs not Neku or when he gives Fret shit for fawning over Eiji Oji and Kanon while falling for Motoiâs BS. Heâs so pessimistic about himself and others that not even a death game that heavily emphasizes the value of teamwork can get him to fully come out of his shell, which is where his time-travel powers come in AND EVEN THEN itâs a double-edged sword since on one hand, it forces him to actively step up to the plate and survey the situation to find the best possible solution, which leads to him slowly growing out of his shell, but on the other, it also leads to him becoming overly reliant on his time travel so that he can walk back from potentially life-changing decisions without having to worry about it since he has a magic reset button. Which ends up biting him in the ass. Hard.
Heâs one of those types of people who is ultimately a thinker and planner instead of a do-er, but his being young and overly impressionable takes this personality quirk to such an extreme that he's foundationally useless to most groups. Heâs the type of person who you have in a group project who sits around and does nothing, but then complains with the project does poorly because he couldn't be bothered to speak.
He's so unconfident and directionless that he uses effectively Instagram as a means to listen to someone who sounds like some 2deep4u philosopher post dumb flowery bullshit that effectively has all the meaning of "Drink water when you're thirsty." and he admits to finding such "deep" meaning in these posts that it supposedly helped him through life. Because he's 15 and doesn't know anything.
However, all of this makes him interesting as a character because heâs, again, still a fundamentally good kid at his core. While heâs shown to have a fuse, he is also the kind of person who has the ability to think his emotions through. That's what we ultimately see when he and Fret finally talk and drop their beef. The game depicting Rindo's capacity for self-awareness and emotional reflection is a positive revelation of his character strengths. He proves that he's capable of recognizing when he's in the wrong and knows how to apologize, a trait he shows quite a few times throughout the story, while also doing everything he can to set things right as well as be more understanding toward how his friends feels.

Heâs kind of the guy who will drop everything to help a little kid out, even when thereâs no tangible benefit to doing so and he and the others are shown to be on limited time, shows empathy to his friends/fallen enemies, and feels massive amounts of guilt for his actions, even if he didnât know better at the time.

Hell, the entire endgame is fueled by his selfish yet understandable desire to save the people he cares about most from total erasure, to the point that heâs willing to risk thousands of lives to do so. But not only is he shown to be internally grappling with himself regarding his decision but heâs also willing to take responsibility and ensure that EVERYTHING goes right not just for himself and his friends but the people of Shibuya in general, in a parallel to Nekuâs own selfish if understandable decision to put the bonds he formed in the original game (particularly with Joshua) over the actual city.

Characters aren't interesting simply by switching between 2 different character traits. They're interesting when all those traits are being expressed at the same time for reasons that are consistent within their internal logic. You gotta be a good writer to pull that off and you gotta know when to show off these dimensions during your story to achieve proper dramatic effect when the time calls for it and NEO I feel does this pretty damn well.

Train Puzzle Devlog 2025-03-08
Since the last update, work has slowly been proceeding to bring to perfection the crudely conceived idea of a transmission that would not only supply--ok enough turbo-encabulator bs. Let's get to the changes.
youtube
This video shows a few new features. Watch with headphones.
@msasterisk re-did car physics. Previously cars rode on single points, and so they tended to ride fairly roughly. On the very curved tracks in some levels, or in places where the tracks didn't line up exactly, cars would jerk around and sometimes even break their couplers. Now the motion is significantly smoother.
Fun fact: According to MsAsterisk, implementing it this way was actually easier than using a single point.
This change also brings with it two other improvements.
Switch stands will no longer throw if a car is on top of it. Currently only the end of the points (where the lever is) is tracked, but this will eventually be made less forgiving, which will make it harder to perform 'Flying Switch'/'Dutch Drop' and car kicking maneuvers. Not impossible, but enough that it should be able to be constrained in level design. This does mean we have to go through and alter some siding capacities to account for the less forgiving switches.
Sounds! Since each car now has two trucks, and each truck can have multiple axles, cars will make clickity-clack sounds as they run over switches. We considered making them clack regularly (with the rail joints), but since we are hearing the entire screen and not just a single point of view, the constant clacking got confusing. This way the clacking is restricted to when the cars actually cross a border that is meaningful to gameplay, which makes it an auditory aid.
In addition, the game's sound effects are now spatial! The effect is fairly subtle, but it's there. If you didn't already notice it, go rewatch the video above. Sound effects on the left side of the screen will sound like they're to the viewer's left, etc.
Cars and locomotives now also make a low rumbling and clanking noise when in motion.
These changes make the game sound more dynamic and real.
In the video above, you can see the camera moving. The behavior shown in the video didn't really work that great since the camera would move when the mouse was near the screen border... but there's u.i. elements there, and it would even do so when tabbed away.
However, while I sit here writing this post, MsAsterisk remains hard at work, and now there's already a fix for this--the camera now moves with the arrow keys and with right click dragging. To-Do: add borders to the camera's motion, and zooming in and out.
youtube
Here, i've reduced the screen width (more than you'd ever do in normal play) to demonstrate the extreme case. The camera can move, and the sound effects also change their position relative to the camera as you do so (which is why I move the camera back and forth several times).
In the second video you can also see the new "Turnout Hell" level I put together, based on a layout I found online called the "Short Long Way Around," a dense 'shelf switcher'. Can you find the runaround loop in that mess?
We also have a new menu, freeing up some screen space. Included is the settings menu (TBD), the level reset button, and the level select button.
We have pretty big goals for the next stable main version, and they'll take a while to complete, and it'll be even longer before the actual game can be released.
Also, at some point I'm gonna need to start pulling my weight around here and work on more art assets, including changes to existing cars and new scenery structures. I've been using a lot of 'we' in this post, but I can't stress enough that nearly all of the work showcased here, from the sound design to the programming, was done by the excellent MsAsterisk.

Final Veilguard Thoughts
I just completed Veilguard 100% platinum (though honestly it is one of the easiest platinums so not much accomplishment there). I have to say again it is not a bad GAME just bad Dragon Age. It reeks of multiplayer and loses everything that made DA unique because of it. And the epilogue is a slap in the face with their âwe honor past stories and stories are about changeâ fourth wall bs and lack of closure. But below the cut is a massive amount of spoilers.
The TL;DR is itâs just a massive missed opportunity and a reboot.
The game up until Weisshaupt is sub par. Boring. It is like they knew the middle and end and then realized theyâd have to do a beginning. And then just catered to the newbies and halfassed everything or didnât do more than one draft. Again the repeating, the handholding the lore while also spoiling everything unnecessarily.
Ghilâs introduction is clownish. Treviso and Minrathous was just fucking blah especially compared to the later missions. Itâs just a single fight. And the dialogue Ghil gets? It just makes her a joke. Itâs not until Weisshaupt that you see oh sheâs crazy and a goddess. It actually felt big while the stupid binary choice was just âeh pick who to fuck I guessâ. Maybe if there were other choices like that, it wouldnât feel soâŠthrown in there for the sake of supposed stakes.
But the first forty hours (if you are like me and refuse to do main story stuff until everything else is done) is just bad build up. I did not want to push forward until after Weisshaupt. It should NOT take half the game to actually get good. Blood of Arlathan was amazing. It actually felt like I was against a god. It was DIFFERENT than all the other running around quests the game had been up to that point.
I think it wouldâve benefitted from more diversity overall. Like gameplay diversity. I think the combat especially needed more. It fucking sucks. Itâs just a button masher with no thought. And every boss and big enemy is the same: shield, find the things to pop to break shield, rinse and repeat two-four more times. On storyteller difficulty itâs a joke. And every mission is just fight forward. No puzzle or interesting quests except Blood of Arlathan. Maybe Weisshaupt from the âeverything is fuckedâ thing (it really felt like there shouldâve been another REAL everything is fucked, dodging shit that fucked up Treviso/Minrathous to really introduce Ghil) The ending is a bit of a slog too but I enjoyed the cutscenes and war council stuff (again because it was different and interesting and felt like Rook actually had a reason to do it). The end boss battle was cool though not a big fan of the kaiju battles. I called the plot twists at the beginning of the game. Not sure if that's a mark for or against the writing. And the more interesting bits about regret werenât given enough time to really sink in.
So I think itâs a pacing issue as well as a dialogue issue. I feel like they missed an opportunity to really do something with Rookâs regrets. They are just optimistic and driven all the fucking time that by the time we get trapped in the prison, thatâs the first time we see Rook has self doubts and whatnot. Thereâs this one dialogue line that hit with the masc 1 voice, talking with Solas afterwards thatâs âI liked working with youâ and it just hits. Where was that emotion before? That level of feeling in the dialogue? If the game is about regrets why didnât they lean into it??? Instead they leave it blank and deprive Rook of anything interesting, of the thing that made them UNIQUE among the DA protags.
I mean the Inquisitor could be "idk what's going on and why I'm here", but they didn't really have the option to doubt themselves. Hawke was our "everything falls apart around me and I'm just pure chaos" protag. And the Warden was the "Guess I'm in charge now, everyone deal with it" protag. Rook could've been really interesting, to show the different kinds of doubts and regrets. Maybe they are just a scared kid trying to hold it together because they've fucked up everything else in their life. Or maybe they are just pissed that they are the one stepping up. (I also think they could've added depth to the whole elf god thing. Could've also been a nice reason to "fix" the DA racism instead of pastel paint it over). They couldâve utilized the companions to show they cared about Rook that they see what they are going through.
But nope! Bland nothing you have to headcanon your way out of. And Rook is still blander than Origins because everyone knows who they are but the player. They shouldâve done something about the backgrounds to set the scene for each Rook. Like resolve them in the game too, not just introductory scenes. Like Aldwir could've had a special mission where them and Strife hash it out (with probably more yelling) cause I kinda felt Strife was Rook's father figure and it would hurt to be constantly told they fucked up by him. Mercar could've had scenes with their family, talking about what it is to lead. SOMETHING to tie Rook to the story and flesh them out beyond headcanons (any developer who relies on headcanons to make their stories interesting, unless the protag is meant to be a Dovahkiin blank space, is fucking lazy, rushed or bad at their job. I don't want to be told "this is the correct Rook", I want enough personality and story to sink my teeth into and Rook is a paper thin vanilla wafer) And they are fucking contradictory? You choose the elf option for tattoos in the beginning and Rook states they were not raised Dalish. They tell Taash they were raised in a city. Then you can say you are Dalish??? And have all the knowledge of a Dalish about the culture. When canonically thatâs doubtful. But nope rainbows and sunshine no problems here.
Then the companions are the biggest missed opportunity. I can forgive shitty gameplay (Andromeda) if the companions are good. And this is where the multiplayer starts really showing up. The fact that 90% of their bonding is completely missable and requires you to go into their rooms, stand there, and then just leave without a word from Rook is bullshit (and weird as fuck). Even Andromeda let you have conversations outside cutscenes.
And thereâs a lack of balance between the characters. Fucking Taash has like 20 cutscene things and everyone else gets a quarter of that. Why isnât Lucanisâ healing as important as Taashâs gender journey??? Or Bellaraâs grief?? I like Taash donât get me wrong (at least when they arenât acting like a moody edgy teenager. Thatâs just bad writing) but they feel like the favorite child and everyone else is just there. Even NB Rook gets shafted for Taashâs story. I feel I know Taash and have missed everything with the other characters.
This lack of development hits mostly in the romance. Lucanisâ is nonexistent it seems with the majority of flirts doing nothing. One almost kiss and then the companion quest doesnât change and boom can be in a relationship with nothing new added. It feels like they got the okay to do single player and went âoh shit now we have to do romanceâŠuh just throw the same formula and theyâll be fineâ. Like the companions have better chemistry with each other. Rook is just...nothing (no one can convince me they are supposed to be like Shephard because there's having a predefined character and having a blank doll that talks like it has personality) This is a step down from even fucking Origins and DA2. At least those were unique with their own plot lines and themes. At this point Iâd take the cringey sex montage of Origins over this nothing burger. Those had more depth than a classic Disney film.
And whoâs bright idea was it to put the kiss/make out scene right after you just found out your mentor is dead and youâve been played with by a god (and why wasnât that given more room to breathe??? I would feel fucking violated as fuck! But given that one of the writers once wanted you to have sex with a demon masquerading as Leliana I'm also not fucking surprised the idea of consent got thrown out the window) and watched your friend die???? How is that okay???? And didnât one of the directors say âthis is the most romantic da game to dateâ or something??? Seriously? You call this more romantic than having a literal Princess Bride moment with Josie? Or Dorian learning to want more that he can have more? Be for fucking real.
The lack of all of this gives me serious doubt about Mass Effect 5. I expect a full reboot like this where they just nuke everything off screen so they donât have to deal with it and call it something like ânecessary to avoid pointless one linersâ again. I can think of several decisions I made that couldâve aided the South. You know like the schism between the Grey Wardens. But nope. Apparently the only things that matter are: did you want to fuck Solas (as Dorian gets one line and everyone else gets nothing), did you want fucking kill Solas, and how would you like to fucking do that. They made it where thereâs only one answer thatâs given the care to feel correct/complete. And even then Solasâ sudden "k Iâll bind myself" feels rushed or just cobbled together cause that ending needed more. I donât care if itâs supposed to be vague thatâs an excuse for shitty writing. I should feel like I got closure and I donât. I just feel insulted given how little care they gave for the previous stories and how little they cared about this one apparently. I shouldnât have to rely on fanfics to fix your damn story BioWare. Fanfics should build upon whatâs there not do your job for you. They couldâve done something interesting but instead we get an indistinguishable multiplayer clone trying to masquerade as a Dragon Age with piss poor pacing, dialogue and direction.
Iâm out. It felt like them killing Varric was a metaphor for them killing the older games. A nice fuck you to the player base
