Had a dream last night that picked up from where the series left Fukuchi, Ranpo and Fukuzawa
Someone came along and started fighting Fukuchi (I don't remember who), but at some point Ranpo woke up (he now knows what happened to Fukuzawa)
Fukuchi and the other person didn't notice him crawl over to Fukuchi until he threw rocks at him. He was desperate to buy as much time as possible and that was the only thing he could do
Fukuchi just looked at him. Ranpo clearly wasn't a threat, yet Fukuchi still threatened him with his stupid sword
The fight continued, but at some point Fukuchi picked up Ranpo so that he would also be injured during the other person's attacks
The other person was hesitant to continue fighting, but Ranpo knew it was for the best that they continue
It ended with a large enough bomb being thrown at the both of them (Ranpo was clearly scared because he knew that'd be the end of the fight), which ended up killing them both
So uhhhhh, let's just hope it wasn't a prophecy of some sort :/

BSD fandom bear with me as i do some math, cause I've been trying to figure out just how far this season is going to get in adapting the manga, and today's episode threw my calculations out the window!
This is a chart I've been using to keep track of the episodes of S5 so far:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The average number of manga pages adapted per episode is 104,7.
The largest amount of pages adapted in an episode is 129 (episode 3).
The smallest amount of pages adapted in an episode is 81 (episode 7).
If the average remains 104-ish, this season should surpass current manga chapters by a couple of months and end around chapter 112, assuming that future chapters' lenght stays the same.
BUT, that's a lot of assumptions, and the average of pages as been going down in the last few chapters... So I have decided to calculate some possibilities!
The worst (realistic) case scenario is: Ep 8: ch 100-102 (87 pages) Ep 9: ch 103-105 (87 pages) Ep 10: 106-part of 108 (80/90 pages) Ep 11: part of 108-110 (80/90 pages)
The best (realistic) case scenario is: Ep 8: ch 100-103 (120 pages) Ep 9: ch 104-107 (123 pages) Ep 10: 108-110 (100/110 pages) Ep 11: ?????? at least 3 other chapters, taking us to chapter 113 (released next december if they don't do any more half-chapters)
Now, I imagine that the truth will be somewhere between these 2 scenarios... But it is reassuring that - unless they decide to REALLY stretch the upcoming episodes - it doesn't look like Season 5 risks finishing with a cliffanger after chapter 109!
...I hope!!

spoilers!! okay no chuuya neither prison arc this chapter again as i saw the raws of the new chapter but yknow what? im actually happy to see atsushi and teruko back
since the translation is not out yet as far as i know, and i completely have no idea what they are saying but by just looking through images im just gonna say im glad to see some teruko character development
like when we saw atsushi and teruko in the chapter 97 or smt (i dont really recall rn) even though teruko lied to him and got him, i kind of knew she was starting to realise things back then, and now instead of killing him, she just helped him and to me thats some character development right there lets be honest
but again, since i dont know what they are talking about im not gonna fully admit she helped him or not once the translation is out we'll see about it

Okay so I was in the bsd tag and I read some things that make me believe that none of you guys can think. like, honestly, no shade, but fuck.
So, Theory Time!
The Untold Origins' whole plot is around a organization who is after the most mysterious old guy in that fucking place, a.k.a Natsume Sensei, and they would have had him if it wasn't for Ranpo's smart ass.
Even more interesting, is the whole plan to get Natsume is around a murder threat that says "AN ANGEL WILL BRING DEATH" signed by a V person. And this murder is to happen in a theater play about an angel who kills the twelve character of the play. An angel who uses a holy blade to kill the last character. An angel who is killing because the characters are sinners and the work of this angel is to purge the ones who wronged him. Purge the twelve sinners who once were angels themselves.
Fukuchi uses the metaphor of Divine/Celestial Beigns for the government, and is trying to take over the world so there is no more wars, but also because those people were the ones who let him and his friends to die in the battlefield. Fukuchi is punishing them, and for this he became one of them.
In this same play, they also said that the ability users were once angels who paid for their sins and were able to return to heaven with God's blessing. Fukuzawa, during this part, remember some things and understand that the person who wrote the play has deep understanding about ability users. He also seems to make a conection between the name "V" with the fact that the play is about a search for an ability user.
This novel also talks a lot about the power of a "performance", which had great impact in this DOA arc too, with Gogol's and Fukuchi's acting.
In the novel, they use a "false" murder to mask Natsume's kidnapping. The murder happens by a blade that comes from nowhere and penetrated the victim's chest. The blade disappear right after.
Also, there is another interesting thing: right after the murder, Ranpo says "It's easy to catch the shrimp. And it's okay if you just catch the shrimp if it's the best you can do. But if you want to catch the whale, you have to use the shrimp."
It's ADA the shrimp that will lead to catch DOA in the end? Or is DOA the shrimp and there is something bigger behind all of this?
To be honest, all of this is leading to where I want. The actual whale.
Ranpo, in the sequence, explains the story. The angel was the public (Natsume, who was watching the play), and was the actual victim behind everything. The jugdment of the angel was only a performance while the "victim" (Murakami, the one who got stabbed) was faking. The judge became the victim and the judged became the murder.
I will not unfold myself in the novel's plot, but Natsume was the actual victim of the whole thing. And it's amazing that someone had put their hands in him because, as everyone knows now, he is very slippery and no one knows his whereabouts, so whoever thought about all of it was smart.
And the whole final plot is interesting. By the end, the partner of Murakami, the actual criminal, Kurahashi was the one that wanted to capture Natsume, and he was killed by a blade that came from nowhere and penetrated his chest. The blade disappear right after.
Ranpo is captured too, by a fake police officer who receive his orders through the radio. And Ranpo discover that Kurahashi was actually dead even before the play started. All these people were used only to capture Natsume sensei. Even better, to catch the informations Natsume was keeping inside his cane. Also, Odasaku knew about this guy "V" who was trying to capture Natsume.
Oda also says something that caught my attetion: "They are killing for justice. Once they are done killing for their justice, they will continue to kill. They will simply stop caring about who are dead." which remembered me about the ch 104.5.
FINALLY, we got here, where I want you to be, with the organization "V" revealing their ultimate goal: To end all the ability users. I think we heard it before (here is a clue, starts with Fy and ends with odor).
Where am I willing to end: The Untold Origins has a lot to conect with the current arc. Not only everything I listed, but also the Fukuzawa's story. Asagiri used a lot of metaphors with "Angels" during this novel. There is a lot of times where I can recall either Gogol's or Fukuchi's ability, like the blade that disappears. The whole performance thing and how that was the strategy used by the DOA to incriminate ADA in the beggining of everything. The shrimp and the whale thing, that also can relate to how Fyodor used Fitzgerald to get closer to his goal. How this organization "V" is known by the dark streets in Yokohama.
The way the novel were released in May 15, 2015, in Japan, and Doa arc started around the beggining of 2017.
Am I saying this organization V is behind everything? No but Yes. You can read it any way you like it. Am I over analyzing BSD again? Probably. Totally possible.
I talk about this A LOT because since I read this fucking novel i was like wAIT A FUCKING MINUTE but never saw no one acknowledged it soooo I shuted my fucking mouth. It's open now :)
Hope you guys liked. Bye.

Okay, bsd season 5: we start in chapter 78 with all the Ranpo-Kamui plan
Then: Fukichi vs Shin Soukoku ( the whole fucking trailer), so chapter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fukichi vs Tachihara
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chuuya breaking into the prision
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jouno vs Fukichi
So we're getting AT LEAST, to chapter 99
Season 4 animated from 55 to 77, aka 23 chaptes + the light novel
If they take a similar pace for seson 5 and do another 23 or so, that would mean we get from 77 to 100, and well... we all know what happens in 101 and that would be such a funny place to end the season woulnd't it?? But we also get some frames of young fukuzawa and fukichi what happens around 104 so.... i think they're going to arrive to the rooftop fukuzawa vs fukuchi fight , like we got Shojo dad in thet trailer and that scene is from 104 so...idk what they're doing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
my personal opinion is that they're going to finish the season around chapter 98, with the teams for the escape game reveal but.... if they finish it on chapter 101 i'm going to laugh so bad like we got
4 years of chuuya inside the book now we get other 4 years of chuuya drowning

/Bsd 104 spoilers/
(I’ve read it, but I don’t think most people have yet.)
Ok, so I’ve heard people say the island Fukuchi got deployed to is the same one where Yosano’s backstory took place. So I think I know where this is going.
I think we’re getting Fukuchi and Mori meeting next chapter. Because like, there’s no way they’re going to drop that piece of information and it not be relevant.
I think if he met Mori and saw what he was doing with Yosano or at least just heard about his ideas about the use of abilities, it make him more susceptible to Fyodor’s anti-ability user philosophy.
And like the timeline technically fits. I did the math (on the assumption Fukuzawa and Fukuchi were 14 during the original flashback (because that’s Asagiri’s go-to flashback age. And that’s just how Harukawa draws 14 year olds)) and it would only be like four years between Fukuchi and Fukuzawa falling out and Yosano’s backstory. I don’t know exactly what the timeline would be for how long he stayed there but considering this is around the most intense part of the war, and it seemed to be a very important battlefield, he might have been there that long. Or at least long enough to meet Mori. But like what if he was the commander ((?)I don’t know if that’s the right word), because I don’t think we ever actually saw who was in charge, just that Mori was the head of the medical division. WHAT IF FUKUCHI WAS MORI’S BOSS? (Kind of don’t think he met Yosano. But also she has a little bit of trauma induced amnesia already. I guess it’s possible she wouldn’t remember all of the details. Or like maybe he just didn’t really interact with her. Because he was rarely injured due to his ~fighting skills~.)
Also I still think Fukuchi probably met Teruko in the military pre-hunting dogs. Probably not there. But it might have been. He said he was taking a bunch of his students with him to the island.(edit: think I misread that specific part but oh well) I wonder if she was one of them. Wouldn’t it be fucked up if she was like the last one alive. Not super likely, but fun to think about.

them: whatcha thinking about?
me, staring at the ceiling: fukuchi and mori were in the same place during the war which could mean so many things…and like what if yosano healed him and since she kept healing people repeatedly what if he was injured a bunch and that made him worse and that’s part of what made him like this…he worried about not coming back the same and what if that was part of why he didn’t…and like, fukuzawa didn’t go with him but what if fukuzawa had and what would that have meant for yosano, and speaking of yosano what if when he took her in she mentioned fukuchi—
