Have you ever seen Scott Sterling Best Volleyball Blocks Ever? I think the ADA should make use of Dazai even when he's incapacitated.

Something something, Mori's immortal army plan and all the trauma it created, being a way for him to prove ability users are useful and worth keeping around.
The hunting dog's being turned into killing machines and routinely undergoing surgeries just to survive it. They are heroes but it's at the cost of their freedom and peace.
The only creations made by ability users that history deems worthy being weapons like Amenogozen and the One Order.
Child ability users like Chuuya, Kyouka and Teruko being stolen away from their family and treated as less than human because they would make a better weapon.
Children like Atsushi and Yumeno being abused and made to hate themselves all because they have an ability.
Ability users bodies being turned into weapons even after death, like the Holy Sword, the Old Boss, Shibusawa and Fukuchi.
Ability users like Sigma, Bram and Mushitaro being used like tools by organizations because of their abilities.
Combative abilities like Demon Snow being passed down the bloodline forcing children to grow into weapons.
Something about ability users being dehumanized and used by non-ability users for years and years, yet they are the ones villainized for being what they were forced to be, every time.
Something about Fyodor having lived to witness all of this and all that came before. Internalizing that resentment towards ability users, perhaps having been the victim of it at least once, and deciding that the only way the evil will stop is if ability users didn't exist.

when you have committed literal crimes but the crimes of your past that haunt you the most are the gay thoughts for your partner aka the person you hate most in this world
continuation to joke tags on this post. 15 Dazai was ready to haunt his 22 y/o self with some past mistakes…. instead Dazai is already suffering

I know tumblr has been pushing communities a lot lately so I need people to know that if you reblog something into a community, people can react and comment on it in there and this is functionally the same thing as sharing it in a private discord server, by which I mean: if the original poster isn't in that community, they're not gonna see any of it.
Don't start reblogging in there instead of your blogs guys. If you start gushing about a headcanon or art piece or fanfic or meta or whatever in there without *at least also* sharing what is said with the orignal poster, you're gonna fail your fandoms. Please don't starve out your fellow fans.

whether you're falling for dazai's façade or simply dismissing his feelings and actions as fake because you don't like him or whatever i just want you to know that when you say he doesn't care about people you do not know what you're talking about. no discussion about it. you just don't. how do you have the gall to even suggest that when that man is where he is now because he followed his friend's dying words. when he still holds on to the betrayal from the one that completed their trio to the point where there's very obvious bitterness in his treatment of him. when he treats chuuya so gently as he nullifies corruption. that man thinks of himself as less than human when he's one of the most human characters solely due to his complex emotions and because of the way he navigates his relationships. please do not try to tell me that he doesn't care when his reason of being is his interactions with others; which is true for anyone, but especially for him.

PM chuuya x ADA reader
Tumblr media
The rain poured down in relentless sheets, turning Yokohama’s streets into rivers of reflected neon light. You tugged your coat tighter around yourself, a smirk playing on your lips as you strolled through the alleyways, not particularly in a rush to get anywhere. The mission was done—another successful day for the Armed Detective Agency. Now, it was just a matter of heading back and teasing Kunikida about something irrelevant to pass the time.
But as you turned the corner, something stopped you in your tracks.
A familiar figure stood beneath the dim glow of a streetlamp, red hair slicked from the rain, blue eyes sharp as ever despite the years that had passed. Chuuya Nakahara. His presence was undeniable, as powerful and commanding as it had always been. Even after all this time, your heart still gave a slight, irritating flutter upon seeing him.
“Well, well,” you drawled, leaning casually against the wall, trying to ignore the twist in your gut. “If it isn’t my favorite mafia executive. I didn’t expect to run into you tonight. Though, it’s not like you ever did have the best timing.”
Chuuya’s eyes narrowed, and that familiar fire lit up behind them. “Still full of yourself, huh? Some things never change.” His voice was as biting as you remembered, but there was something else there, too—something deeper, a weight behind the words. You knew it, because you felt it, too.
Years had passed since the two of you had been something—something fierce, complicated, and all-consuming. You’d broken up in the middle of a mission gone wrong, tempers flaring, words exchanged that you couldn’t take back. And since then, you’d both gone your separate ways—him to the Port Mafia, you to the Agency. Polar opposites now, as if it had always been meant to end this way.
You shrugged, that lazy grin never leaving your face. “I could say the same about you. Still looking like you want to punch a hole through the world.”
Chuuya’s lips twitched, the barest hint of a smile before he buried it beneath his usual scowl. “What do you want, Y/N? Or are you just here to get in my way again?”
You pretended to think, tapping your chin. “Getting in your way was always one of my favorite pastimes. Old habits die hard.”
His eyes flashed dangerously, and you knew you were pushing him—just like always. But that was how it had been with the two of you. You poked, he snapped, and somehow, it had worked until it didn’t.
"Is that why you left?" Chuuya's voice was quieter now, his gaze searching yours. The question hung between you, years of unsaid things suddenly at the forefront. He wasn’t asking about the mission, and you both knew it.
For once, your smile faltered, and you exhaled softly. “You know why I left, Chuuya.”
Silence stretched between you, thick with the weight of everything you hadn’t said to each other in years. The rain continued to fall, but neither of you moved. You could feel the tension, the unresolved history that lingered in every glance, every word exchanged.
Chuuya finally broke the silence, his voice gruff but softer than before. “It doesn’t matter anymore. We’ve both moved on. We’re on opposite sides now.”
You nodded slowly, that familiar smirk returning as you met his gaze. “Yeah. But you still think about it, don’t you?”
Chuuya didn’t answer, but the look in his eyes told you everything.

Mori is not a child predator nor is he an intentional abuser; narratively, he's the representation of the way Ability users are dehumanized and the justification behind it. He prioritizes the 'optimal solution'; that means that Ability users, capable of so much more than the average person, must be pushed to their brink for the good of everyone else. Mori was not lying when he told Yosano that, ordinarily, he would never be able to resist the request of a little girl; as seen in Beast, he does seem to genuinely care for children specifically. The issue, however, is that he did not see Yosano as a child due to her Ability; she could not be a person, but an instrument of a greater good. This is the same way he treats Dazai, Chuuya, and arguably himself; as Ability users they must be organs of a greater good instead of people, not afforded the same right to childhood and protection or desires.

I've always wondered how bsd characters came to know the names of their abilities. Like, did they name their abilities themselves? Is it like a birthright where when they first tapped into their abilities, the government or some sort of agency had to be notified and someone else officially named their abilities based on what they did?
BSD is in its own little pocket dimension that simultaneously reflects the real world and doesn't at the same time, so it'd be funny if like Natsume or Oda—since they were writers—got into a battle with someone like Chuuya or Akutagawa who tell the enemy the name of their ability and what it does, and they're like oh yeah, I've heard of that novel/piece of literature!
Just really breaking the fourth wall.
But also, if we wanna go down the route of characters naming their abilities themselves, there are some pretty good cases to be made:
Dazai doesn't like his ability and thinks it's a curse more than anything
Chuuya struggles with feeling human enough and belonging and might feel "tainted" as a result while harboring a deep sorrow
Fyodor's ability activates from the crime of murder being committed and him punishing them as a result
Then you have Fitzgerald who's full of himself and naming his ability after himself
And Natsume who is just I Am a Cat 🐈
