Bee startles at the sound of something hitting the ground outside the garage. It's been five months since the events in LA but he's, admittedly, still on edge.

He's about to transform and investigate when he hears a familiar giggle through the wall.

If he could in his alt form, he'd roll his eyes, but instead, he revs his engine to get her attention.

"Bee!" CC stumbles through the side door and holds her finger to her lips, "Sh- Shush!"

She leans on her palms against his hood, clumsily patting it as she whispers, "Don't want Sammy to know I'm here."

He jerks beneath her in surprise and she giggles, "Relax, Bee. I just need a ride."

She fumbles with the handle of his driver's side door until his radio breaks the quiet.

"Garage door."

She does as he says and when she turns back around the passenger side door is open for her.

"Get in- Sweetheart- Let's go for a ride."

"Hun," He shivers when she runs her fingers across his hood, "I think I should be in the driver's seat, just in case."

"No way- you're drunk."

She is, but that's not the point. He gets all nervous when he feels her hands on his steering wheel.

"Oh come on, it's not like I'll actually be driving."

He whirs in defeat and the driver's door pops open.

"Thank you!"

"Yeah yeah," He whirs.

As soon as she's buckled in he tears out of the driveway, most likely waking the entire Witwicky household.

"Bee!' She squeaks, "Bee, slow down!"

He laughs when she grips the wheel, clinging to him when he takes a corner hard.

"Bee! Bee please just- dear god- Bee slow down!"

The quiver in her voice makes him slam on the brakes, and he's barely able to get the panicked "Are you okay?" across the radio.

He's a flurry of worried whirs when she leans her forehead on the leather of the wheel.

"I'm fine. I'm okay. I just..." She sighs, "I'm really drunk, Bee. Can we just take it slow? Please?"

"Sure thing, darlin'."

The rest of the drive is much smoother and it isn't long before she starts nodding off, mumbling little things he's not sure she means to say.

"You're sweet on me," He swerves in surprise, but she goes on, "You don't think I notice, but I do... and I think it's really cute."

He hopes beyond reason that she's too out of it to remember his embarrassed chirping and the way his whole interior heats up.

She's out by the time they get to her place, not even reacting to his "There's no place like home," when he comes to a stop in her driveway.

The last thing he wants to do is wake her, not when she's so cute all curled up on his seat like this.

Sam won't mind him staying overnight, right? As long as it means Casey gets a good night's sleep.

Casey is beyond confused when she wakes up inside the familiar Camero.

"Bee?"

"Good morning beautiful!" The sweet voice of Steve Holy comes through the radio, a bit too loud for her throbbing head.

"Shhhh..."

He jolts when she nuzzles sleepily into the upholstery, trying to hide from the sunlight.

"How come you didn't wake me up?"

He makes a sound like 'I dunno' and switches through stations to say "Pretty thing - looked too ‐ cute - to - wake up."

"Shut up," She swats at his wheel and he chuckles.

He whines disappointedly when she stretches and opens the door.

"Sorry Bee, cuddle time's over, I gotta get up."

He shifts to stand next to her, steadying her when she nearly falls.

"Steady there - angel. - You gonna be okay?"

"I'll be fine, Bee," She waves him down and when he's about eye level with her she tugs his face closer and kisses the side of his face, "Thank you."

He makes excited noised as she turns around and she bites her lip to keep herself from laughing.

"You're too good to be true, yeah!" He transforms back to his alt and honks a handful of times.

"Bee, my head!" She cries, looking back at him. His apologetic sounds melt her heart and she smiles, "Now you better get back to Sam before he freaks out."

I've been finding a lot of dead Bumblebees this summer and I really hope it's not due to some new horrible environmental chemical.

It had been a while since you had crashed landed on earth, and had been reunited with your father and the rest of your family as well. Along with meeting new friends they had made as well, getting the opportunity to stay as sending you elsewhere will not be good idea right now. since coming here you have yet to run into, meet up with your other father and the other half of the family as well. The war had changed everyone but there, was still hope that everyone stayed the same a bit. 

Y/n " Please uncle ratchet it will be okay." You had want to go out for a drive but it was not easy getting pass, ratchet who was at the base with you while the rest of the team was away and the kids were at school.

Ratchet " No young femme and we don't know if megaton, and his people know you are here yet."

Y/n "Yes sir."

Ratchet " I know you wish to spend more time out there but it, best if you have someone with you as you are still young and don't have that much experience in fighting."

Y/n " I know I just hate that I can't be more of help here."

Ratchet " You have been enough help here making sure we have enough, supplies and helping me with anything as well."

Y/n " Thank you, Uncle Ratchet."

Ratchet: " Look, you have done all your chores and have been giving me some peace, so it will be good for you to go out for a bit."

Y/n " Really, you are serious about this."

Ratchet: " Just for a while, and then you can come with me to pick up the kids."

Y/N: " You are the best uncle. I promise I will not let you down." You soon hugged Ratchet before you took off toward the underground tunnel and transformed into a vehicle.

Ratcht " Don't fight any cons for your sake and theirs, Megtron. They will have their sparks if anyone hurts you."

Y/n " Yes, sir." You soon drove away from the base and into the desert, having a wonderful time alone on the road. Checking out the surrounding area was not that bad, and some stuff reminded you of Cbyetron as well.

Y/N " The team is right. Even though this town seems very small, we have to say that under the radar, there is so much to see and learn about as well."

Y/n: " I wonder how Father and everyone else are doing, as I have not seen them since I came here, but in time, they will know I'm here."Your words are accurate, as you couldn't avoid the deceptions for long. When it comes to you, none of them will dare to hurt you, as you mean so much to them.

Ratchet: " Young lady, I would love for you to meet me at the kids' school, and on time, please. I shall not let Bummblebee and Bulkhead's laid-back behavior get you as well."

Y/n " Oh, the double, sir. I will be there on time or maybe even early." You laughed as you soon transformed into your vehicle form and took off toward the school. As you had been tasked on picking up the kids verse Ratchet as his from, gained more attention then you.

Jack: Hey y/n, you are picking us up today."

Y/n " Yes, I am, but Ratchet is nearby too."

Miko "Cool. Let's go before we get stuck here doing something boring."

Raph: " Are you enjoying your vehicle form y/n?"

Y/n " Yes, it's good to be on the road again."

Ratchet: " You all can talk back at base. I wish not to be out here, anyone loner, as unwanted guests might come." The kids soon sighed and got into the car. You soon took off towards base, with Ratchet following behind. The group soon reached the base while Ratchet went to do his work. You stayed with the kids.

Miko " So we know Megaton is your other parents, so those are those who mean you can fly as well or just land mode."

Jack: "She's been waiting to ask you this question all day at school."

Y/N: " Oh, well, I can fly as well, but right now, flying might set off alarms with the cons."

Raph " I never knew transfromers could have more then on form."

Y/n: " Some can have more than one transformation form. I used both in space, but not right now."

Jack: " How was Megatron as a dad before the war?"

Y/N " He was a good dad. He was there for me, but life had changed. I still think he was a good dad, but he has changed from the boy I once knew."

Miko " That is good to know, but we must ensure you have a wonderful time here on Earth. It can be a blast because you are the same age as Jack and I."

Jack: " Yeah, if Optimus doesn't catch on along with Acree, we will be in major trouble."

Y/n " As long we do something safe, we will be good. Now come on, let's have some fun." The kids smiled as you enjoyed your time with them. Unaware to yourself, a laserbeak had picked up on your signal and followed you until he was called home.

Megaton " Soundwave, what news have you brought for me this evening?" Soundwave soon pulled up a screen showing you to megaton and anyone else in the room.

Knockout " Y/n is here how she was stationed on some base, far away from the war."

Breakdown: " Well, it seems like she is here and has already been recruited by the Optimus Prime."

Starscream " My lord, what shall we do? Your daughter is also one of us."

Megatron " We shall leave her be for now. Send out word to any of our people and tell them I will have their spark if anyone hurts her. I will be speaking with Optimus soon." The deceptions seem very happy to have you here on earth, and they wish to have some time to get caught up with you as well. This will not stop the war that much. Yes, it might add some peace right now, but the war will still rage on for the sake of cyberton and all life.

Blake's Sexuality

Everybody seems so excited about Bummblebee becoming a thing that everyone is calling both girls either gay or lesbian. This may be the case for Yang, we don't really have that information, but it's not for Blake. Bi and pansexual are not dirty words guys! Given Blake's history with Adam, and possibly Sun, it's wrong to call her gay and ignore part of who she is. If your referring to both girls and/or thier relationship, maybe try using queer instead of gay. Please don't put Blake through bi-eraser, that poor girl has been through enough!

Bumblebee

Alright this week lets talk about the movie Bumblebee. Now I’m gonna be honest I know little to nothing about the comics and actual lore of Transformers so this review will purely be from a stand point of a regular movie goer.

First of all lets talk visuals... phenomenal. I have no complaints about the visuals in this movie, and Bumblebee is just wee and adorable. I MEAN HE FIT IN A GARAGE FULLY TRANSFORMED! Also as a person who gets motion sick easily the camera spinning and fight scenes were done very well. Oh and one thing I do know is there is a lot of carnage in the comics, and this movie did not disappoint.

Now plot. So there was a little too much backstory. This wasn’t damaging to the story at all but it felt a bit unnecessary. Otherwise that’s about my only complaint for the plot. It was straight forward and easy to follow. In my opinion this should be turned into a hard reboot of the franchise.

Overall good movie and I recommend seeing it if you love robots and fighting (warning there are graphic scenes): 8.5/10

This is the best analysis I've ever seen on gender for tfp. No wonder I felt so comfortable with the show as a kid:)

And can I just talk about Solus Prime for a sec. I didn't know she was a she until a while ago. Her and the other past primes weren't talk about in depth so we didn't much about her. But her Forge was my favorite relic and one of the most important ones. It even saved Optimus thanks to Smokescreen. And just by the size alone of the Forge I'm sure she was really tall ( like Op or Megs ). I just wish we got to learn more about her and the other primes.

Transformers Prime, performing gender, and why I love this

I love how Transformers: Prime treats gender and gender roles, both being subtly fair in how it treats male and female characters, and how it also quietly reconstructs gender roles. Sure, it has a clear majority of male characters, but the writing or the language used doesn’t treat male and female characters differently or enforce gender roles, and I appreciate that greatly.

Arcee is a capable leader and a fierce fighter, and her arc is about learning to trust again and letting go of bloody revenge before it destroys her. She isn’t “overtly emotional” or scolded by her teammates even when her thirst for revenge causes them harm, she’s a person who’s having a difficult time. Everyone around her trusts her and she is both strict and supportive of her friends.

Airachnid is scary as hell and no one belittles her at any point. She is taken seriously, and the thing between her and Arcee is also framed and treated like a truly dangerous affair, not some silly girls’ slap fight. She is capable of terrible things and they aren’t brushed off because of her gender.

Miko is a tomboy, but this isn’t at any point brought up as an unusual thing, and her gender identity is not put at odds with her behavior. The writing lets a girl be gender non-conforming and still a girl without a question, and this is hugely important. There is no one right way to be a girl, and Miko is allowed to do that in her own way. And when her recklessness gets her or her friends in trouble, the issue is putting others in danger, not how she needs to be more girly.

June is a mother and in a caring profession, a nurse, but she isn’t a one-dimensional character slapped with a bunch of stereotypes. She is raising her son alone and like any parent she simply worries. She also works a lot, and her skills are valuable assets to the team. We also see the actual nature of nurse work when she jumps into action in an emergency when Rafiel gets injured in the end of season 1.

There are also different versions of masculinity, and all of them valid. Sure, we have our Megatron, our Dreadwing, our Breakdown, our Wheeljack, and to a certain extend Bulkhead. But strong and sort of aggressive as they are, they are not toxic. Their battle prowess, stoicism or aggression are not inherently tied to their masculinity as they don’t use them to underline their identities, nor do they lead to them looking down at others who are different.

In Decepticons we have a clear majority of aggressive masculine types, but we also have Knockout and Starscream. Knockout’s vanity and clear queer coding are not issues to anyone nor is he a joke to other characters. The traditionally masculine Breakdown is a close friend/coded partner of his, and Knockout is also a skilled fighter, a good doctor and kind of scary as well (s2.ep19 Human factor, anyone?). Starscream is the one everyone has beef with, but it’s because of personal matters, and he isn’t mocked for his feminine attributes. Traits like being scheming and cowardly are not linked with his effeminate design but his ambition, and none of these are reduced to jokes.

As for different masculinities, Autobots - our good guys, mind you - have vocally pacifist and protective Optimus Prime who focuses on wisdom and defense, almost like a maternal figure, but still the one capable of going against Megatron in battle. I mentioned Bulkhead with the traditional masculine characters, but additionally to his attitude and deeds before thoughts kind of way, he’s also very empathetic. He hugs people and is very often the most openly emotional, getting excited, angry and worried. Bumblebee is close to the action-y kind of young male character, but his youth and inexperience are not ignored, and he takes orders and advice from the older bots higher in the chain of command.

The language used is also a part of this. The bots don’t refer to each other as men or women. Troops is not synonymous with men. Not even the bad guys ridicule anyone based on their gender or their ability to perform gender roles, which would be a cheap jab and lazy writing.

There isn’t one instance of “you’re a girl, this is dangerous!” or “but… but you’re a girl, how do you know how to so this technical/brave/useful thing?”

Actually, no one’s gender is brought up as a reason for anyone’s skills, be they male or female. In the beginning I mentioned that the series does all of this “subtly” and “quietly”, and by that I mean that no one ever makes a preachy speech about this, which is something often seen when the show/movie/story wants to make a point. But I’ve often found that when there’s a preachy scene about gender roles or one scene of “girl power”, this is all there is, and the rest of the show or a movie continues to do the very things it was trying to call out. I prefer TF Prime’s way of never having that one scene or maybe an episode of superficial textual critique, and just actually doing the reconstruction consistently through the entirety of its run.

As a kid I had a huge problem with gender representation in media, especially with how girls in childrens’ shows seemed to come in two version: delicate, squeaky-voiced, endlessly patient carers, or loud, obnoxious, bossy brats who need to learn a lesson. I’m so glad things have changed for the better.

"Bumblebee" Movie Really

To much like the Iron Giant for me to say anything else positive about it. Almost a cookie cutter copy of it too. It definitely isn't as ridiculous as Michael Bay movies. And now Hasbro has come and said it is officially a "reboot" of the franchise....Great. At least it was a very pure transformers movie. 5/10
