I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.

here's a heartbreaking idea: i think Tenna might be repeating some of Kris' words/thoughts 💔 at first it seems like Tenna is just apologising for including pipes in the minigame...but what if this is actually him repeating what Kris has said in the past to Toriel and Asgore? we know that Kris has pulled pranks in the past including flushing bath bombs down the toilet, and if Tenna's dialogue is anything to go by, Kris was really shaken by Toriel and Asgore's divorce (as they were witness to much of the fights leading up to it). what if Kris feels responsible for the divorce? is it possible that Kris, in that way characteristic to children of divorce, thinks that if they just hadn't pulled that prank which messed up the pipes, Toriel and Asgore might never have fought and could still be together today? 😭💔

The horrific torture it must to be to see even your favourite piece of media portray you as a piece of equipment that has to be kept in line by forced amnesia and threat of deconstruction. The message is clear: "If you get close to people, you're gonna end up killing them through your faulty nature. You will drag down the lives of every single person around you. You and the people around you should keep an ever watchful eye, to keep you in check"

In the end, you can't help believing that it's all true, all prophetic.
