Thinking about making a post, or a series about stuff that I wish I was taught about C in school.
I might just do it regardless of interest, it would be nice to just get my thoughts written down somewhere.
Also feel free to give me some topic suggestions, like bitwise operations, memory management, object oriented-ness, fun with undefined behaviors, advanced(?) topics, etc...

Adding some difficulty options!
Haven't done a whole lot else this week as I've been distracted by putting together a Classic Traveller campaign for next year. I've longed to play a game set in the Original Traveller Universe but the odds of finding a GM in Adelaide is pretty much zero so I may as well put my existing group through it. We already played a house-ruled Traveller variant years ago that I threw together for my big space game, Turbostellar so they're pretty keen.

The next part of my Harvester toolchain is finally done!
Check out BMtoPNG Converter on GitHub!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is another command-line utility and it currently doesn't support extracting files in bulk as this utility was created primarily as a library first and foremost though.
The future asset viewer that I'm working towards will handle bulk extraction of these sorts of files though, and it will actually have a GUI too!
I still need to figure out how Harvester decides which PAL file to use if there isn't one with the exact same name as the BM file before I can really think about bulk extracting though. I don't even know if these curator files are 100% correct or not lol, I'm just going based on my memory of what they looked like in game.

Colonel Buster Monroe was never in charge of the missile base, Steve. It was all just a bad dream...
Colonel Monroe's been dead for years, you need to get over it 😢

I… don’t actually have an explanation for this other than @sugaarquoted and I had this idea at 2am and it was so stupid I had to draw it…
Basically what if when Hunter says he doesn’t know who they report to he’s actually been ignoring Jusik’s calls for like three years and by the time they figure it out Jusik already left the Order
That’s it that’s the post send tweet

How will I be without my husband C99? is our story with him over and my heart is crying ;(
Tumblr media
The story is not over yet, C-99 will have some appearances on the routes of others. Later I will add a story where you can live with the characters in an everyday life, without murders, anguish or torture, just you and him doing silly things and showing love. :]

its kind of embarrassing to admit but i cut my lisp programmer teeth on this itty bitty lisp dialect a certain hobbyist game developer wrote up in about 700 semicolons of c99. and it was so tiny and cute and elegant and everything i wrote in it felt like a haiku poem. the reason im a fake lisper girl is bc all i really want is to recapture that feeling of coding in a language so conceptually elegant (& easy to understand) that i can rotate it in my head like a low poly slice of apple pie. janet gets me some of the way there but it just isn't the same you know?

The Coalsack Nebula, C99 // Ireneusz Nowak (iro)
Extending into the neighboring constellations is the Coalsack Nebula, a dark cloud of light-obscuring dust about 587 light years away in the constellation of Crux, the Southern Cross. Having been viewed for millennia by indigenous peoples in the southern hemisphere, the Coalsack has no discoverer although Europeans first heard about it from the Spanish explorer Vicente Yáñez Pinzón (c. 1462-1514) in 1499.

Little ad moment. I'm not paid or anything, I just really like this library I thought I'd share.
This is fuckin huge.
Fuck electron apps loading up your 8Go of ram with a single one open, embrace real GUI in C, C++, Odin and many more to come with Clay
I'm so in love with this. It's C99 style, single header, very elegant and nice to use. Works with raylib, opengl, sdl, vulkan, and ANY OTHER RENDERING ENGINE.
Video tutorial and presentation under the cut:

I've been sticking with 280 as my character limit for these, but I often find that they feel bloated when I go right up to 280. I stripped some things out of this one and I think it looks a lot nicer.
