Ucuz sanal sunucu 2025
Ucuz Sanal Sunucu Seçerken Nelere Dikkat Edilmeli?

Is AWAY using it's own program or is this just a voluntary list of guidelines for people using programs like DALL-E? How does AWAY address the environmental concerns of how the companies making those AI programs conduct themselves (energy consumption, exploiting impoverished areas for cheap electricity, destruction of the environment to rapidly build and get the components for data centers etc.)? Are members of AWAY encouraged to contact their gov representatives about IP theft by AI apps?
What is AWAY and how does it work?
AWAY does not "use its own program" in the software sense—rather, we're a diverse collective of ~1000 members that each have their own varying workflows and approaches to art. While some members do use AI as one tool among many, most of the people in the server are actually traditional artists who don't use AI at all, yet are still interested in ethical approaches to new technologies.
Our code of ethics is a set of voluntary guidelines that members agree to follow upon joining. These emphasize ethical AI approaches, (preferably open-source models that can run locally), respecting artists who oppose AI by not training styles on their art, and refusing to use AI to undercut other artists or work for corporations that similarly exploit creative labor.
Environmental Impact in Context
It's important to place environmental concerns about AI in the context of our broader extractive, industrialized society, where there are virtually no "clean" solutions:
The water usage figures for AI data centers (200-740 million liters annually) represent roughly 0.00013% of total U.S. water usage. This is a small fraction compared to industrial agriculture or manufacturing—for example, golf course irrigation alone in the U.S. consumes approximately 2.08 billion gallons of water per day, or about 7.87 trillion liters annually. This makes AI's water usage about 0.01% of just golf course irrigation.
Looking into individual usage, the average American consumes about 26.8 kg of beef annually, which takes around 1,608 megajoules (MJ) of energy to produce. Making 10 ChatGPT queries daily for an entire year (3,650 queries) consumes just 38.1 MJ—about 42 times less energy than eating beef. In fact, a single quarter-pound beef patty takes 651 times more energy to produce than a single AI query.
Overall, power usage specific to AI represents just 4% of total data center power consumption, which itself is a small fraction of global energy usage. Current annual energy usage for data centers is roughly 9-15 TWh globally—comparable to producing a relatively small number of vehicles.
The consumer environmentalism narrative around technology often ignores how imperial exploitation pushes environmental costs onto the Global South. The rare earth minerals needed for computing hardware, the cheap labor for manufacturing, and the toxic waste from electronics disposal disproportionately burden developing nations, while the benefits flow largely to wealthy countries.
While this pattern isn't unique to AI, it is fundamental to our global economic structure. The focus on individual consumer choices (like whether or not one should use AI, for art or otherwise,) distracts from the much larger systemic issues of imperialism, extractive capitalism, and global inequality that drive environmental degradation at a massive scale.
They are not going to stop building the data centers, and they weren't going to even if AI never got invented.
Creative Tools and Environmental Impact
In actuality, all creative practices have some sort of environmental impact in an industrialized society:
Digital art software (such as Photoshop, Blender, etc) generally uses 60-300 watts per hour depending on your computer's specifications. This is typically more energy than dozens, if not hundreds, of AI image generations (maybe even thousands if you are using a particularly low-quality one).
Traditional art supplies rely on similar if not worse scales of resource extraction, chemical processing, and global supply chains, all of which come with their own environmental impact.
Paint production requires roughly thirteen gallons of water to manufacture one gallon of paint.
Many oil paints contain toxic heavy metals and solvents, which have the potential to contaminate ground water.
Synthetic brushes are made from petroleum-based plastics that take centuries to decompose.
That being said, the point of this section isn't to deflect criticism of AI by criticizing other art forms. Rather, it's important to recognize that we live in a society where virtually all artistic avenues have environmental costs. Focusing exclusively on the newest technologies while ignoring the environmental costs of pre-existing tools and practices doesn't help to solve any of the issues with our current or future waste.
The largest environmental problems come not from individual creative choices, but rather from industrial-scale systems, such as:
Industrial manufacturing (responsible for roughly 22% of global emissions)
Industrial agriculture (responsible for roughly 24% of global emissions)
Transportation and logistics networks (responsible for roughly 14% of global emissions)
Making changes on an individual scale, while meaningful on a personal level, can't address systemic issues without broader policy changes and overall restructuring of global economic systems.
Intellectual Property Considerations
AWAY doesn't encourage members to contact government representatives about "IP theft" for multiple reasons:
We acknowledge that copyright law overwhelmingly serves corporate interests rather than individual creators
Creating new "learning rights" or "style rights" would further empower large corporations while harming individual artists and fan creators
Many AWAY members live outside the United States, many of which having been directly damaged by the US, and thus understand that intellectual property regimes are often tools of imperial control that benefit wealthy nations
Instead, we emphasize respect for artists who are protective of their work and style. Our guidelines explicitly prohibit imitating the style of artists who have voiced their distaste for AI, working on an opt-in model that encourages traditional artists to give and subsequently revoke permissions if they see fit. This approach is about respect, not legal enforcement. We are not a pro-copyright group.
In Conclusion
AWAY aims to cultivate thoughtful, ethical engagement with new technologies, while also holding respect for creative communities outside of itself. As a collective, we recognize that real environmental solutions require addressing concepts such as imperial exploitation, extractive capitalism, and corporate power—not just focusing on individual consumer choices, which do little to change the current state of the world we live in.
When discussing environmental impacts, it's important to keep perspective on a relative scale, and to avoid ignoring major issues in favor of smaller ones. We promote balanced discussions based in concrete fact, with the belief that they can lead to meaningful solutions, rather than misplaced outrage that ultimately serves to maintain the status quo.
If this resonates with you, please feel free to join our discord. :)

Toward revised climates for Sogant Raha
A couple of weeks ago I finally got ExoPlaSim running, as detailed in this post from Worldbuilding Pasta; it's a finicky-as-hell piece of software, but it's also basically the only global climate model that seems remotely accessible to the conworlder who does not actually study this stuff for a living. And since it's pretty slow, especially on my antiquated machine, I looked into renting a virtual server from the same folks who do my webhosting. This is something I've never done before, and I was pleasantly surprised at how incredibly cheap it was--I'm paying about sixty Euro-cents a month at my current usage rates.
With a great deal of trial and error, I've been running climate models of Sogant Raha with different starting parameters. Mostly the failure states are pretty uninteresting--when I reduced the atmospheric pressure by 10% for instance, I had to crank up the CO2 levels a surprising amount or I just got an endless parade of snowball planets. Too much insolation and the whole planet is desert. The sweet spot for a stable climate (with Earthlike nitrogen and oxygen ratios) seems to be around 600 ppm of CO2, which is high compared to the pre-industrial baseline for the Holocene, but well within Earth's historic range.
Tumblr media
This is the interpolated global climate map for Sogant Raha based on the last simulation. (Keep in mind the prevailing wind direction is the opposite of Earth's.) Some of the features are exactly what I was hoping for: that nice belt of equatorial rainforests, for instance, and a mild climate even at very high latitudes near the south pole. The rugged terrain of the northern polar regions probably influences the formation of tundra there.
There are some issues that definitely are due to needing to do another pass on the topography data; some mountain ranges are too high, which makes western Altuum too dry, I think. Central Demora (the left of the two small continents in the north-central region of the map) is much drier than I expected, probably due to topography and the low resolution of the model. Several islands are a lot drier than they should be; this is a know issue with ExoPlaSIm, apparently. I'm most surprised by the giant desert on the north end of Rezana (the southern continent in the group of three on the left). That region has comparatively low relief and water on three sides; even if it's not very wet, it should be wetter than that, I reckon. I'll have to dig into the data and see what that's about. And the desert in the northwest of Vinsamaren also makes no sense to me; it's equatorial, and there isn't an appreciable rain shadow in that region.
Sogant Raha is very much not a bottom-up project, in that it started with a group of stories I wanted to tell, and then I started thinking about how to link those stories together in a world that had internal consistency, and only much later did I start looking into stuff like climate and geology, so I'm actually quite pleased that I can get something comparatively close to my original design without any major revisions. The biggest change from my previous biome map is just the planet's axial tilt--instead of being very low, it is now rather high, around 30 degrees. No valleys of eternal night on the poles, which is a pity, but I can still have my south polar islanders who spend half the year sailing from island to island in perpetual darkness.

Sending some tips I've learned, so other people can learn it before making the same mistakes I have!(I figure you have better reach than me!) Pictures of 3ds as payment, one with the splasg screen and one with the home screen!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, onto the tips!
If you are going to buy replacement/spare styluses, make sure you look for ones For Your Model!!! I bought a 4 pack of styluses only to learn later that they were made for the old normal sized 3ds, and so wouldn't fit in my 3ds! While this isn't a HUGE inconvenience, it meant I kept losing them! (Side note: replacement styluses are very cheap to get! I now have 5 on my own, and I gave one to a friend and lost another!)
You don't have to buy the traditional grey brick chargers. Listen. We are in the modern age. You can get USB to ds adapters instead. Like the kind you use for your phone. They feel MUCH more durable than the old ones. I've gone through 4 of the old ones and I'm a bit tired of it. Plus these take up less space on the extension cord!
I highly recommend learning how to virtually access your 3ds SD card using FTPD! This makes it a lot easier to get non-3ds roms onto your system, especially with systems where you have to use a screwdriver to get to the card. It also makes it easier to make backups! You CAN access it remotely with official methods if it's a new 3ds, but honestly ftp transfer is a lot faster to me.
Join the 3ds hacking discord! I highly recommend searching any questions you have there as well as the Internet! Things are often changing, and unless it's a very popular site like the 3ds hacks guide, it's probably not going to stay up to date for long! Best to double check, and it can save you some hassle!
When in doubt, ask! Hacking communities tend to be very friendly and open to help, as evidenced by the blog I'm sending this too!
red o3DS
honestly I don't need the payment pictures but I'll happily take bribes in the form of them. >:3c
#1 if you have access to a 3D printer, all of the styluses have readily available free 3D models online so just get some printed!
#2 I've used those in the past! mine is currently missing but yeah it's huge. Super nice to have an extra long cable and everythin.
#3 thank u!! i didnt know that. I'll have to try it out.
#4 h u h. is there a perm url I can link to? (I dont like joining public servers myself but i'm willing to link to it!)
#5 yes yes yes yes!

VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. It’s a type of hosting where a physical server is divided into multiple virtual servers, each operating independently with its own dedicated resources. What is VPS? Though multiple VPS instances share the same physical machine, each is isolated and functions like a standalone VPS server.
Think of it like living in an apartment building (the server): you have your own unit (VPS) with dedicated resources—CPU, RAM, storage—and your neighbors can’t access or affect your environment.
So, when someone asks: “What is a VPS?” or “What is VPS hosting?”, the simple answer is: a virtual private server  offers more control, performance, and flexibility than shared hosting, without the high cost of a dedicated server .

i  will  finally  have  time  to  write  in  the  latter  half  of  the  week,  but  i  spend  an  embarrassing  amount  of  time  yapping  on  discord  about  ruairi  to  my  captive  audience  of  very  wonderful  and  very  patient  friends  —  so  allow  me  a  moment  to  throw  out  an  assortment  of  miscellaneous  ruri  thoughts  that  would  probably  never  see  the  light  of  day  beyond  our  server's  dedicated  headcanon  thread  otherwise.
ruairi's  go-to  cologne  smells  like  the  mahogany  teakwood  scent from  bath  &  body  works.
he  loathes  seafood  but  has  a  very  special  hatred  reserved  for  salmon  in  particular.  (  even  the  smell  will  see  him  gagging  melodramatically  like  you're  attempting  to  poison  him.  )  his  favorite  foods  tend  to  be  expensive  cuts  of  red  meat  —  the  type  of  person  who  gets  very  pretentious  about  high  grade  wagyu  and  the  like.  however,  he  does  also  have  a  secret  fondness  for  cheap  and  greasy  diner  food.  the  eighth  circle's  chef  has  effectively  guaranteed  himself  employment  for  the  rest  of  his  (after)life  because  he  knows  how  to  make  burgers  and  overly  salty  fries  exactly  the  way  ruairi  likes  them.
he  actually  is  a  very  talented  cook  in  his  own  right,  though  he  usually  can't  be  bothered  or  can't  spare  the  time  to  make  his  own  food.  he  does  make  food  on  special  occasions  or  for  people  he  really  (  and  i  mean  REALLY  )  likes.
adhd!  undiagnosed  until  adulthood.
his  full  name  is  "ruairi  alasdair  calcabrina,"  —  his  first  and  middle  names  combined  effectively  translate  to  "red  king,  defender  of  the  people."  each  of  the  malebranche  families  tend  to  follow  one  particular  naming  theme  and  calcabrinas  are  all  about  pride  and  power, so it's unsurprising that the meaning is something grandiose.  (  the  calcabrinas  in  general  also  tend  to  have  names  with  gaelic  roots.  )
the  magenta  in  his  hair  is  natural  and  is  actually  a  trait  shared  by  all  incubi  /  succubi.  notably  incubi  /  succubi  in  styx  lore  are  wildly  different  from  their  traditionally  lascivious  portrayal  in  most  media  —  they  feed  off  of  emotions  and  gain  energy  from  being  immersed  in  environments  rich  with  intense  feelings,  though  this  isn't  particularly  different  from  an  extrovert  gaining  energy  from  socializing.  they  are  naturally  drawn  to  bustling  locations  that  tend  to  evoke  strong  reactions  from  the  people  who  crowd  there  —  the  calcabrina  family,  for  example,  have  a  monopoly  over  styx's  nightclubs  and  casinos.  any  demon  with  one  incubus  /  succubus  parent  will  look  virtually  indistinguishable  from  a  demon  with  two,  however  —  ruairi  in  particular  is  only  half-incubus,  but  he  looks  pureblooded  at  a  glance. his other biological parent is unknown, even to ruairi himself.
the  pink  and  black  jacket  is  actually  traditional  calcabrina  attire,  ruairi  just  doesn't  wear  it  correctly  on  purpose.
