I understand the divided opinions about Bucky running as the Brooklyn congressman. And well, beyond this being arguably out of character for him. In my humble opinion, I think this is not thaaat different from what happened with Matt in DD:BA, where he decided to leave the mantle of Daredevil and pursue "other ways to help" full on as a lawyer. But he eventually realized that the world did need his alterego, and that his presence could make a difference in many people's lives.

The difference is that Bucky is a hero who has *never* really wanted to fight, but has constantly expressed his desire to live in peace. Still, and despite everything, seeking the greater good is something he has always fought for. So in reality, it's not so out of line for him to decide to be part of Congress, for as his official information says, this is another way in which he truly believes he can bring about good, WITHOUT having to be part of the battlefield...

Notice how the info says "Bucky will be forced to jump into action". FORCED. Marvel may be an unfair victim-blamer and ableist son of a bitch to him, but at least they maintain consistency in his characterization as a semi-pacifist who has NEVER enjoyed having to fight, but prefers a peaceful life.

Seb made a reference to Bucky's peaceful nature in an interview for Empire Magazine "every time I try to get out, they pull me back in". I think this sums up Bucky perfectly, as every time he experiences a bit of peace, for one reason or another he always ends up getting pulled into the fight and forced to intervene.

So in conclusion, while being a congressman may seem like a strange choice, it fulfills the two goals Bucky has always sought: to fight for good AND to live in (relative) peace...

ALSO, I'm very happy that Bucky is finally back in a leadership role since 1943. He's the one who's going to rally a team to fight the Sentry threat. He's the one who has the will to stand up and fight. It is he who will inspire the other TBs to be better and become heroes. It is thanks to Bucky that the world once again has a group of heroes to protect them... 🥹🥹

This supposed soldier FLINCHES. He's scared of potential harm coming to him. He wasn't meant to be a soldier. He wasn't meant to be at the front lines knowing that he could be killed at any moment and to be trained to kill any other. He isn't meant to. He is forcing himself into a way of life that was never meant to be.Not to mention how his older self looks at him with disdain, yet still looking like a figure of power.

The little grunt ver being scared, pathetic, and even on his knees helpless. He's lost and doesn't know any better. Turning to any kind of solid ground while still in awe of the calculated chaos around him. But the only other solid entity is who he forced himself to become. He thought there was no other choice. And his own situation in life led him down that road, but he himself went too far. He could have been just a grunt. He could have even been an agent. He could have gotten another job. He could have tried to hold out a little longer and not join the core. But he did. He went and he kept going. Stripping himself of all traces of the boy he was, leaving only his name. And the name itself is quite ironic. "Maverick" someone who goes against orders, someone who thinks differently. Everything he tries to get rid of in himself. The only connection to him now and his name is that he is an outlier.

Now. The S3LF. I've talked about the S3LF a lot. But in the animation the S3LF is just as fragmented as the rest of Maverick's psyche. (the background) It is animated with 2 alternating snap frames. It's animated differently to constantly shake to set it apart from the physical Maverick. It's meant to be drawn like a child. Rough, crude, messy. It also shows its vulnerability. It's new born as Maverick has learned to suppress who he is & refuses to allow his own S3LF to grow. It even regresses in the hands of the grunt as well. Shrinking in on itself as it is suppressed once more. It too shows the vulnerability Maverick feels at all times. Mav himself as a grunt is much more careful with the S3LF, but still wrestles with its own existence and relationship to it. The S3LF if you notice, has an injured and even missing tail. Just like Maverick himself. Which the loss was of his own doing in an attempt to get rid of his own S3LF in a manic episode.

I know this is a common stance, cause DMC be DMC, but I cannot envision Patty as a dedicated demon hunter. I absolutely see her indulge in some supportive role to actual demon hunting, like maybe something with her potential sorcery powers (summoner Patty, my dream, but even then she's not a Hunter, the summons mechanic is for self-defence mostly, aka V(ergil) scenario), or magic seals consultant, or a humanitarian effort volunteer, or maybe she becomes Dante's personal-unlicensed-law-expert and saves him from building damage rates or smth, I dunno, but not actual Hunting.

High-echelon Mawkin suit modules can be pretty wild, and the Energy conversion module in Raven Beak's suit is no exception.

When exposed to an active current or energy field, the module accounts for the level of charged particles in the local atmosphere and converts the detected matter to power. Most substantial forms of power and radiation are compatible with its function, and it's calibrated to work more efficiently when exposed to substantially powerful forms of plasmic matter.

The conversion module is similar to (but should not be confused with) the thermal charge module, which charges the power suit in extreme heat. That technology is also implemented in the protective exosuits found in Cataris' lava zone. The Mawkin use thermal energy to power a number of their facilities: that they'd implement it in their more mobile works is only natural.

Back to the subject at hand, the conversion module's practicality is twofold: to keep Raven Beak's suit sufficiently charged and to maintain his vigor in battle. His particular biometric modifications are such that his suit, combined with his level of physical fitness, can theoretically keep him fighting without fear of exhaustion in perpetuity.

Raven Beak's juiced up version of lightning armor is the inverse of this module: it absorbs charged particles for the purpose of coalescing into a projected wave. The use of lightning armor in this manner negates the function of the conversion module for restorative purposes. Additionally, lightning armor works best against oncoming projectiles, while the reactive conversion module is at its peak when the suit is exposed to ambient radiation or concentrated, consistent flows of power.

Suffice to say, Raven Beak is probably the only person who could stick a fork in an electrical socket and have it do the exact opposite of killing him.
